Hope everyone is doing okay

Judie, thank goodness you are alive and well!!! Was truly getting worried!! Whew! So you will have a red blotch or two, also? They'll be gone quickly. I had one done on my arm back in Jan. and was surprised how SORE that thing got. But didn't last long. Get a good nights sleep, Professor! You have a week+ to take it easy!

hedgie said...

MArgy, know how cool it is to go look at rising water-----Carolyn and I have done that on many occasions.....but kind of scary to think of you put there alone in that bad weather.....tsk, tsk!

hedgie said...

Shirley, thank you!
I am already questioning myself...every time that there is a nice moment.........but then the not-so-nice minutes happen again....and I WONDER if I can last that long.

hedgie said...

Good cam link, MArgy, but it says they are experiencing technical difficulties.....so guess that means it's n ot updating.

stronghunter said...

Kathryn and Hunter have gone up to bed. Luna went with them. She has gotten used to sleeping upstairs now.

Small crisis that caused some panic. Kathryn was in the process of changing Lucky's cat potty. It is a Breeze system and has a little drawer with a pad underneath. Kathryn had removed the drawer when Lucky decided he needed to go.

Kathryn had to chase him out of his potty. Poor kitty hid. He came out from under the bed awhile later and I put him in his potty. He was thankful.

stronghunter said...

Kathryn and Hunter had to find a detour to get home this evening because the road was still closed. She saw power lines down. Glad those did not land on us.

magpie said...

regarding the link I posted for Lake Washington
it was for the "still cam" so to speak, not the live stream

It took nearly 90 seconds for it to open up with a picture the first time and I got excited because, there was an eagle in there for a few minutes
so I jumped the gun when posting the link
It does clearly say they are experiencing technical difficulities
I justed tried it again, it took over two mins for a pic to begin to show up
then it was half a picture, a whole picture, a sliver of a pic, and so on, so, maybe another day
or maybe your better computers will fare better than mine
Sorry about all that...

magpie said...

Shirley
glad the kids got home safely and everyone and the pets seem to be getting settled in,
and yes, surely glad no power lines down around you

Going to say Happy Birthday one more time for Loretta and Sunny

I offer my prayers for the things that are heavy on our hearts,

I am going to go upstairs to my safe, warm bed. Maybe I can check out Lake Washington and the bears tomorrow. I am weary tonight.

I will work on putting together the test tomorrow. It should not take too long.

It is time for me to re-access the approach in my senior English class. Thinking about pushing things up a notch. Might not seem like I'm doing that when I say they don't have to turn in the answers to the questions, but they need to be ready to discuss them, but it will be a real increase in putting the responsibility on them.

stronghunter said...

Let's just say I am getting tired of being buried by papers when the students should not be getting credit for all the little stuff they should be doing anyway. Also do not like giving credit for the ones who just copied someone else's work.

stronghunter said...

Moving on to bigger things and higher level thinking.

stronghunter said...

And with that thought, good night. I will see you tomorrow.

hedgie said...

Sounds like a good plan, Shirley! Now just stick to your guns. Hope you sleep well tonight. I know how having something weighing on you can prevent that.

Margy, hope you sleep through without any coughing! Have a good day at work tomorrow.

My eyes are heavy.......as soon as my show ends, I'm going to the tub. Snooze a bit, and then watch the news and see all the flooding predictions around the area.
Good night all. Prayers and peace.

Sure don't understand those % marks.

It was great to see Judie!!
I guess we didn't see Lynne... I may have missed some......

Sounds like you all are having horrible weather. Hang in there! Here in Tornado alley we practice tornado drills all the time. Down on your knees, head down, hands on the back of your head. We line the kids up in the halls, heads to interior walls. More fun to remain in this position for over an hour when there is a real tornado warning. Especially fun when you have scared 5 year old. NOT!!

Watched AI when I got home.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Hi, Megan, I heard that too! Thank God that Belle looks fairly dry. There have been times when she looked like a drowned rat!
Have been watching the news regarding the HUGE earthquake in Japan. Pretty scary stuff:

TOKYO (AP) — A powerful tsunami spawned by the largest earthquake in Japan's recorded history slammed the eastern coast Friday, sweeping away boats, cars, homes and people as widespread fires burned out of control. Authorities said at least 32 people were killed.

The magnitude 8.9 offshore quake was followed by at least 19 aftershocks, most of them of more than magnitude 6.0. Dozens of cities and villages along a 1,300-mile (2,100-kilometer) stretch of coastline were shaken by violent tremors that reached as far away as Tokyo, hundreds of miles (kilometers) from the epicenter.

A tsunami warning was issued for the entire Pacific, including areas as far away as South America, the entire U.S. West Coast, Canada and Alaska....

I'm mighty glad I DON'T live in beachfront property! We are about 25 miles from the coast. Still, hoping no tsunami hits. Have friends who live in Newport Beach! Will certainly keep an eye on the breaking news reports as this progresses.

Shirley, that video you posted was pretty scary weather! Sure am glad that you and Hunter made it home OK!

Judie, mighty good to hear from you!
Glad you have next week off to recover from the big schoolhouse madness. Enjoy to the max!

Hope we hear from Lynne soon!

I am still voting for Mai. Don't understand the percentages on the votes, but I refuse to give up!

Hubby has taken the day off work today. Glad of that, considering the Japan earthquake and tsunami warnings. He's taking full advantage of a chance to sleep in later than usual right now.

Ms Bookworm said...

BTW, I'd better warn you guys--my posts here may be kind of scarce for a few days--I have boatloads of transcription homework to do. Must do about 30-40 hours per week of the stuff! Will try to get here at least once or twice a day, but it's going to be a crazy couple of weeks for me.
I turned in the first batch of work at school last night, but went to school early and didn't stay until class time. My eyes were so blurry, they didn't want to focus on anything close, or far away! Spent the whole day on the computer--even my mid-range vision was blurry by last night!
Yikes, this last quarter of the school year is going to be a stinker!

I was pretty tired last night, too. Fell asleep after dinner in front of the TV with Emma. Sorry to admit I didn't make it back here to say goodnight! Considering my current school workload, I guess I'd better set the blog security system on "automatic pilot" for now. I'll be lurking as much as possible--I'll keep the sound on the live cam on, and if I hear anything, will take a look. I'll be praying for everyone, and will chat as much as possible when I take breaks from the transcription work. Just don't want you all to worry about me! Don't forget to wear red, and have a great day today! TGIF! :O]

Hi,

A quick good morning. I am going to get ready and go on to work. We have a two-hour delay, but I have much to do.

I also want to take a look at that road I traveled last night. I am still convinced that something hit me last night, or that I hit something. Maybe I ran over a tree branch or a street sign. Things had to be blowing around.

stronghunter said...

Waiting to hear from Susan. She was all set to graduate this spring, even bought her cap and gown when she got a message that she is three credits short because they eliminated one of the classes she took and passed. Her advisor is working on it. She is trying to stay calm.

stronghunter said...

Took a quick look at our still cam. It looks like all is well there this morning.

glo said...

Good morning everyone. Even though I did get some sleep from exhaustion mostly, I am not feeling too well today at all. Then the news out of Japan has started my day feeling very sad.

I am glad for sunshine at the nest. I see most everyone has checked it at some point except for Lynne2 unless I missed it.

Have a safe day. I think some coffee and dog treats will perk me up some :-).

Donnie said...

Good morning all,
Things are very soggy around here. I hope that cloud burst last night didn't wash anyone away. My rain guage put it at .71 in about an hour. I was out eating dinner and everyone in the restaurant was chattering about the thunder. talking about chattering.... This eagle is a little chatty today. Maybe she knows the little ones are on the way. Ohh good look at the eggs!
lots of chatter!

Awful news about the quake.....I knew that if Lynne was up and about that she would fill you all in. I've been glued to the tube.
Just devastating news. Worst recorded quake in Japan history. The scope of the tsunami is amazing if it does hit our west coast.

Now if Glo, Margy, Diann and Lynn can just get to feeling well again. I'll be much happier.

Lynn-Hedgie I wish foster Mom good pick up Mai sooner.

Loretta better you not wash away and have you Lobste later.

Paula so glad you made it home safely yesterday.

glo said...

Well I am off to the grocery. I can hardly talk. It will make for a quiet day indeed. Between the car and the really good sized cold/sinus stuff and now earthquakes and tsunamis yep its a tough morning all around the world.
I am glad our eagles are having a better morning though. That is good.

I am taking Dex with me to the store. He hasn't gotten to ride in the car now for days. He really really wants to go for a RIDE and its close by just in case. "Yep I do not trust my car, and surely don't want to walk home with me and Dex but it is doable.

wvgal_dana said...

Good luck Glo and Dex hope everything works out well going to and from the store.

Shirley I watched that "Microburst" you put on. That video looked like a tornado. Glad you and Hunter are still with us.

Need to go catch Paula's beer video's now.

Saw a hawk on my front lawn again this morning. Did not see it at first and started down for the paper. I would have stopped and watched if I had seen him before I started down. I had looked, but in the trees. Neighbor, who has a night time therapist job, told me she sees the hawks in our front yard about every morning when she is coming home. Wonder why they like our front yard????

Lolly said...

Loweeda, those roses! Oh, my! Maybe if we google it?? Surely they must inject each petal with dye.

hedgie said...

SUN!!!! A wee bit of sunshine here!!!

Lolly said...

The Process
1. Fresh long stems roses are hand picked from our farms.

2. A trained horticulturist prepares the roses for "fiesta-ization".

3. The roses are placed in a unique substance, which is a combination of water and various dyes. The roses slowly absorb the dyed water the same way as they would naturally absorb water. Our unique process allows the horticulturist to pinpoint which petals receive each color of dye. This results in the various colors being diffused throughout upwards of 60 of the rose petals.

4. Fiesta Roses are carefully packed and shipped throughout the United States.

Lolly said...

I love google! You can find things out so quick! Answers all your questions!

I am off to dry my hair.

I decided beer is good for a smile. Thanks Dana. Still makes me smile as I type it.
Wandthanks for weeklong forecast for our impending hatch. Doesn't look too bad. Belle and Lib can certainly handle that weather.

They are not expecting any huge waves in our area. I am sure Jim is OK too--but I don't know where his family is exactly--I think they may be in Del Mar, on the way to San Diego from here. Hopefully they are not right on the coast.
Had a nice surprise this morning. Had to go pick up a prescription refill for my glucose meter test strips. First time I've had to reorder them since I started with Kaiser senior advantage insurance (Medicare supplement). They are usually about $65, and today they were FREE! YAY!
