Good morning all my friends of fine feathers and fur. I have been watching the nest but trying to stay on task with work as much as I can. So, there may be a pip? Wow! This very well could be the day! :-)
You have a good one too Lori! And everyone else as well!
PLEASE someone email me if we get a hatch today!!! I've gotten my mound of paper under control here at the desk and need to get ready to leave for work.
Good Watchful Morning Everyone Hoping for a hatch today. Seems like a lot of family is coming down with head colds. I need to be on guard from Hubby and Daughter. Another Daughter coming over around 10am.
I wasn't given any names of the team that is looking after the cam.
Jo, Thelma might know who it is, tho'. Could you call and ask her? Isn't she the one you talk to sometimes?
Too bad about the panda bite. Obviously a big mistake by someone....and the panda was being a bear!
I messed up last night....missed the fact that Christie also had an attached list of addresses to the email in addition to the ones she had in the body of the email! Had to do MORE labels this AM!!!!
Trying to get ready to head out and pick up meds and Mai and drop the labels in the post office. It is chilly out t here!!
Diann, so sorry you have th ecrud. Sounds like what I have been battling. NO FUN!
large flock of high-flying geese flyng north about 30 mins ago...honking, about 75 of them in a jumbled up V...not sure if they were Tundra Swans, but don't know of any other kinds of swans they would be...or geese...have to do some resarch on that..... they looked dark, so not so sure what they were
Paula, Steve is on leave this week. He answered my email Sunday right after I had sent it. He said the guys will watch and use the zoom as possible. Should give some good views of the new eaglets. Also he stated that when he had used the zoom in the past few weeks, he got emails saying "when are you zooming the camera back out?". I will try to find out which of the guys is in charge.
I don't think any of our group would ask to have it zoomed out at this stage of the game!!!! Paula, maybe you missed yesterday that I emailed Randy askingif he could get to the right person...but maybe he's away, too.
Called NCTC and spoke with Steve's office. She said she would get in touch with the persons (I couldn't get any names - :( ) and get them to zoom cam. Guess we will wait and watch.
Good morning! Have been lurking. Got on the cam first thing this morning and then read the paper. Saw one egg roll, did not see anything. I predict tonight or tomorrow.
aaah, someone else watching the Still Cam! Hi Megan... that is all I can do so far today, watch the Still Cam.....waiting on a call from a techie ! there's a setting somewhere on here that is kaplooie! I reloaded Java and Adobe, no improvement
Loved this comment Lynne2 posted Monday morning about the Song of the Robin and want to plagiarize and post it again here:
" I heard and saw my first Robin singing it's "come be my wife" song this morning! "
I heard a lot of that this morning myself...they are definitely in courtship mode here near my place !
and if you missed this, Spring Peepers are out in full force in Morgan County! So, tonight, at dusk...listen for them at NCTC - maybe they are out there also... xoxo
Lori, thanks for my first laugh today. Still smiling when I think of you seeing the crows on your trip to the balcony! Actually, still roflmbo!!!! Your comments are priceless! Thanks!
Sunshiney day here. Got only to 40 this morning, they lied! Now on way up to 60's.
Have to leave shortly and make a trip to have blood work done. More fun! Just routine stuff!
Paula You have a nice selection of birds at the Beach House. If you can't find the things at Big Lots or Marshall's over there that I was telling you about. Email me I will re-check Marshall's and Big Lots here to see if they still have those different items for you. If you need then someone to take you to where those places are located. I can do that too lady. ( :
YIPPEE----we are ZOOMED!!!! Thanks to whoever got that accomplished!!!!!
Not a good day here in regard to BUGS! One SB in sunroom, one on kitchen table; a wood roach in the BEDROOM; and a Boris in the bathroom, plus a dead one in coat closet. HELP!
Lynn, no wireless mouse yet. Keep forgetting when we drive by Office Max! My mouse 'tail' keeps getting stuck on the little ledge on back of keyboard shelf...really annoying.
Lolly, I put in on full screen and used the magnifying glass - that line across the one egg, looks like it's attached to the egg, not a piece of something laying on it. Make sense?
I think there was a change in the size of the ?able area as we watched. Couldn't see much of anything and then saw this crack/flugg appear and then saw it better and better. I think its a crack and a working hard eggtoothed eaglet.
Thanks for the pic, Glo. I don't see anything definitive on the place where the pointer is. On the other hand, on the top, R/H end of that same egg there could be a pip.
I think the adult (looks like Lib to me, but I'm having troubles this season) is setting somewhat higher and appears to be listening to sounds from below.
Well MeMa Jo when the eggs first became uncovered I thought I don't see anything and then I saw something sort of in that area, and then it got darker and darker ?think wider and wider and I thought YES its got a crack happening as little one works. Of course I have seen hatches that no one else saw too. Well some others saw it but no one confirmed LOL
In addition to no iish I think Belle would be on the nest "which could actually be"as it seems the Mom usually hangs awfully close as hatch time approaches.
I watched the feeding at NBG. Eagle #1 is so cute, looking around. Finally saw #2 but did not get a picture. I think it was even fed a wee bit.
Wanda, Laurel's first word was "ish" at 8 months. We used to have aquariums and one was a 40 gallon. She loved to sit and watch and we would say "fish". One day out of the blue "ish, ish". Of course, she did not really talk until much later.
Mama settled back down before I could get a SnipIt!!!!
Shirley, sorry about your tooth/teeth. Root canal---ugh!
Just missed big to-do at one shopping center. Passed 4 state police cars leaving, 3 city police cars still there at Food Lion. Clerk in store I went in said that FL manager was stabbed by someone....perp ran out and tried to throw knife up on roof of building. Other employees tackled him and held him down until police got there. Supposedly all over a pack of cigarettes. Geesh!!!
Yeah. They say root canals are not as bad as they once were. I have never had one before. This is from the accident I had in December. My two front teeth. Have not scheduled an appointment yet. Trying to figure out what Workman's Comp is going to do. So far, they have not been very helpful. Paying less than my regular insurance would pay.
That is awful about the Food Lion manager...some brave souls out there who tackled the attacker.
Retail can be dangerous! Did ya'll hear about the 2 ladies in Bethesda over the weekend, one was killed, the other in critical condition..attacked in a retail store.
Okay, I have cut coupons, had my lunch and still no recent egg roll. Awe...come on...roll those eggs. Give us a peek...pretty please, with cream and sugar on it!☺
Shirley, you should not be paying ONE CENT out of pocket on Worker's Comp. If they aren't going to step up and pay in full, go after the school's liability insurance. This is insane!
I am not pro enough to give an opinion on the egg in Glo's pic.....so I will just hope with you all that it IS a crack!!!
I noted on FB viewing of Wanda's video that I have a string of the baby conch pods, too. Jo----don't know if you looked IN my sunroom coffeetable, but it is my own design with my own collection----it is in there, along with shells, starfish, driftwood, horseshoe crab shells, and a shark or whale VERTEBRAE!!!!
Well, here's a crock of you-know what. From Susan:
Kelly Kennedy from NCTC called me back this morning and said we COULD NOT come to NCTC, Steve was not there and would not be back until next week, and there was no way we could get in to see the nest. I explained that I was an Eaglet Momster driving 5 hours from Charleston, been watching the nest for several years and was so anxious to finally be in the area, heck I even threw in it was our anniversary. The lady wasn't going to budge. The Bavarian is really close. Maybe we can hike in by the river. hahahahaha Just kidding.
Anyway, we'll have a wonderful time but it sure would have been nice to at least SEE the nest. Maybe another time.
Jo, who is Kelly???? What about Thelma???? She speaks for Steve, doesn't she??
Shirley.....no knife, no proof he did it, I guess!!!! Well, duh, apparently plenty of eye-witnesses! Don't know how bad the manager was hurt. I'm sure this one will make the paper!!
Jo, no collar....no sutures!!! Internal ones, and surgical glue on the outside. That is good----won't itch as much. As long-legged as she is, I'm not sure she can reach her belly with her tongue!!
Hedgie - Thelma isn't in Steve's group now and recently I think it was Kelly who set things up. Let me check some old emails - I really think that Randy could help but you say he may not be there either. BRB
It sprinkled a bit right after I got home. But not doing it now.....supposed to rain by DC rush hour, through the night and morning.......not a very nice welcome for our chicklet if he/she pops out tonight----and we won;t be able to see, I'm sure without a moonie!
Yes, Jo, it's all there then and now----it hasn't moved in 10 yrs!! Can't be moved, and I don't disturb it except to clean the glass top!!!! I had Frank make it from old barn boards; Bill lined it with vinyl flooring, I painted it blue inside, Bill put in white sand, and then I dressed it with my goodies. Bill got glass cut to fit for the top!!
Reminds me of what happened to Judie and me when we were told we could not go to the nest. That worked out okay when a state policeman kindly drove us there. Judie did a wonderful job of persuasion that day.
Well, that's too bad about Thelma. Maybe Kelly needs orders from the HEAD MOMSTER!!!!! Or maybe Susan can sweet talk a guard at the gate into at least escorting them to the nest for a look-see!
:-( sad to read a Momster driving 5 hours can not get to see the nest. The eagles aren't even endangered anymore. Maybe they could sort of be heading to pick up a kid form Day Care. Hmmmm Yep need someone to sweetalk the guards or some such.
I'm back from lunch.. Not much going on here i see. I figured I would miss all the fun again. I drove over to look at the nest 3 years ago. It was summer and no eggs or eagles in it and they would not let me back to take photos. I went out to the road and used the big lens and got a few far away shots. It's like fort knox back in there....
JMHO, but we are all taxpayers! AND we are special because we contribute to the Friends of NCTC....those two facts alone should be sufficient criteria.
Andy, good that you got an apptmt. set up! Don't want that gal going into heat!
Yes, Glo, I can understand, too. And we, of all people, do want the nest protected. I expect, though, that there are not a great many requests. I would think our group should be able to get permission.
Decided to delete the other comment afraid someone might take a part of it the wrong way. I do hope it works out. Maybe if MeMa Jo agrees to escort them as to vouch for she knows who they are, why they are there and where they want to go.
Glo, I stoped on the road. absolutly no place to pull off the road. you have to park on the road... There is a private farm driveway on the curve but I did not want ot pull in there. They had a big dog barking and I'm sure they get upset with everyone pulling off to watch. It was a fast pull off and snap a shot and get out of there... I hate to intrude on someones elses property. I don't want anybody on mine! The guards were really awful though.

Hello all.
Haven't caught up yet. Still no zoom or word from Randy.

Enjoy your family time !

I do want to give a shout out to my peeps at Newberry County Hospital Pathology Department who are also watching our lovely nest!
I sent Steve an email and said I thought we had seen a pip, can they zoom in the cam and just leave it there...
I didn't see a pip hole just now on the egg roll but that certainly does not mean that one ain't there.
I take it that is still Lib on the nest
large flock of high-flying geese flyng north about 30 mins ago...honking, about 75 of them in a jumbled up V...not sure if they were Tundra Swans, but don't know of any other kinds of swans they would be...or geese...have to do some resarch on that.....

Jo, I suggested that they leave the zoom in, cause you know how busy "the guys" are.
Jo, I did see your post the other night....thought I would bug him anyhow :) It's important...
I missed that last move...eagle facing 10ish now
I don't think any of our group would ask to have it zoomed out at this stage of the game!!!!

I saw it, but couldn't tell for sure if I was seeing grass or a spot. Watching the still cam on my phone.
Thanks, Jo. Maybe that will do the trick. Lynn, I saw that you had contacted Randy, but no reply.
Good morning! Have been lurking. Got on the cam first thing this morning and then read the paper. Saw one egg roll, did not see anything. I predict tonight or tomorrow.

THANK YOU NCTC!!!
Thank you Thank you Thank you so very much NCTC zoomer.
HELP!
Lynn, have your shoe or flyswatter handy!
THANK YOU NCTC FOR ZOOMING IN THE CAM ( :
OH, YES...THANK YOU. WE ARE HAPPY CAMPERS, NOW!!
MAYBE SOME MORE ZOOM?
Life is good ( :
Got my bird to watch at the feeder.
My nice zoomed in NCTC cam.
Watching NBG for another hatch which she is loolomg under herself.
Got BWE eagles to watch grow.
Plus have wonderful friends on this blog.
Hi people from Newberry County Hospital Pathology Department watching ( :
I gues that'll do...looks to be double compared to the 'still' beside it.
Well that is perfect! Thanks for the zoom.
I've got sound again, too!
Wow! Just came back to the computer after getting ready to leave! Okay!!!! Now we need an egg roll for sure!
Thanks to NCTC and to the "zoomer"!☺
Wanda, I think any more zoom would be too much....it wouldprobably eliminate half the cup!
BTW---did you get your wireless mouse yet?
Eagle up
Not much of a view...
What do you think? I think I saw a pip!
arrrg !!! not long enough!
No, it was if "hee hee, I am not going to let you see!"
it seems like a lot of extra checking going on now.
LOL well that wasn't too TMI :-)
Off to grocery and running errands.
Okay, I am out of here. Will be back in about 1 1/2 hours. Travel time up to Fort Worth and travel time back is about 30 min. Screammmmmmmmmmmmmm!
BBAFAIC LOL!
I have to leave the house and go to lunch.... but i hate to go. Will somebody txt me when you see the little one?
I have to leave the house and go to lunch.... but i hate to go. Will somebody txt me when you see the little one?
Lynn, no wireless mouse yet. Keep forgetting when we drive by Office Max! My mouse 'tail' keeps getting stuck on the little ledge on back of keyboard shelf...really annoying.
OK, Donnie:)
I see lots of smiles :)
Now I need to see the pip
Heading out myself......hope I won;t be gone more than 90 minutes, too. Hold off, chickee!!!!
Lib up, cmon move em around..so we can see!
Don't see any pips:( Eagle acting strangely...
Oh, clothes waiting to be hung up from the dryer and another loadin washer:(
Thought I saw a pip on the egg on the left...the pip was where it was touching the egg on the right
My comment at 9:04 this am should have read:
Jewell-Genie keeping Kim and family and YOU in prayer
I think eagle at NBG is feeling some movement underneath her.
We were given some good chances with the egg rolling and then Lib getting comfy - wish I could say I saw a pip
but if it is there I missed it :(
BTW - I may have missed Hedgie's comment but
Is Mai Home.......
Lolly - I am glad to have your Happy Faced Sunshine again
Ah, we got the zoom!!!
I'm home now & have my big ol' honkin' pink 25x Magnifying glass again!
It's what I use when I can't read the stuff on labels with my reading glasses on.
I am baaaack! Not traffic up and no traffic back down and they took me right in to draw blood! The vampires!!
See that nothing has happened.
Make that "no" traffic! LOL
When was the last egg roll? About time for another?

Hi, Jim....no chicklets, yet.
Jo, I think Lynn is getting Mai, as we speak. Hope she isn't too sore.
I do think it is time, Lolly...
Hello Jim, Wanda, Lolly and Dana!
Happy Hatching Day! Maybe we can will it to happen.
Or thinking positively, we'll have two born close together! The perfect, blessed outcome!
eggs are alone
I do not see anything. The closest egg looks like it has a piece of flugg in front of it.
I was over on fb, but keeping an eye on the nest.
Lolly, I put in on full screen and used the magnifying glass - that line across the one egg, looks like it's attached to the egg, not a piece of something laying on it.
Make sense?
Well its either flugg or a really nice sized crack on egg in front.
flugg or nice sized crack
So, there are two eaglets at NBG? I missed that. I keep thinking there is but never see it. A friend on FB said there were 2 now.
This looks like the same eagle to me....
I think there was a change in the size of the ?able area as we watched. Couldn't see much of anything and then saw this crack/flugg appear and then saw it better and better. I think its a crack and a working hard eggtoothed eaglet.
Crack of flugg? Guess we will know soon.
Need to go check on NBG.
Yep, on NBG the second one has hatched. Cool!
Time to walk. Will have the cam up and be watching!
Thanks for the pic, Glo.
I don't see anything definitive on the place where the pointer is. On the other hand, on the top, R/H end of that same egg there could be a pip.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
I think the adult (looks like Lib to me, but I'm having troubles this season) is setting somewhat higher and appears to be listening to sounds from below.
But there is no iish in sight yet.....
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Lori I like what you said & I like Glo's pic. It's going to be disappointing if that in fact isn't a little eye tooth cracking right along there.
Just wait & watch...
Whoo Hoo!
Congowings:
While it isn't official until DGIF or CCB announces it - I think we can safely say egg number two has hatched on Day 37.
Congowings:
Please remember, we need confirmation from DGIF or CCB on the hatching.
Hope and Lily are outside. They must be working on the cam again, cause they have it turned out where Hope and Lily are. Lots of snow there.
Hi, I am back from the dentist. They tested my injured teeth, but the nerves are not responding. There is a root canal in my future.
Watching the bear cam. It looks like Lily is having a little tree bark. And now Hope is joining her.
Egg roll, could only see part of one egg...wiggle wiggle, facing 4ish
Saw the last part of that egg roll.
Both adults on nest, and the chicks are being fed at BWE.
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
Hmmmm. What do you suppose the dude meant by "iish"???
C(°Ù¿°)D Jim
In addition to no iish I think Belle would be on the nest "which could actually be"as it seems the Mom usually hangs awfully close as hatch time approaches.
Maybe some fancy kind of food, Jim.
Maybe his fingers were on the wrong keys, Jim:)
Maybe he was watching the beer cam...
GLO, that sur does look like a crack to me... certainly hope so, getting VERY anxious now and might have an anxiety attack any moment!
Yah, that's what, Megan;)
Easy Wanda. :)
Glo - love your link: crack or flug
If I drank beer I could sure use one right now at the beer cam! teehee
The beer cam won't open for me so I watched 3/24 video of the den activity.
They really were all over that place.
Thanks to Jim we are improving our vocabulary. We now add iish to our fantabulous momster dictionary.
I meant to type the video of 3/14
at the beer cam.......
Whoops! Make that Momster/Dadster dictionary.
Trouble I know where to use beer, flugg, vook and others BUT I don't know when to use "iish" - Is is fish?
Fancy eagle fish. Especially for hatching days.
iish are delivered when there is a hatching! ☺
Well, we will just have to print out a dictionary for everyone who want to be on this blog. LOL
I think you can hear Jayden talking about ish, we were looking at baby conch shells:)
Feeding at NBG
NBG 2 heads being fed
Jayden was talking on the conch shell video I made...didn't make that clear.
Hmm, I remember learning about "nestorations" and a few other terms, as well as legitimate ones, such as "mantling."
Must be a lot of people watching NBG. It is taking a long time to download.
Wanda, just watched your video. Very interesting! Did not know that!
It was interesting, Wanda. I had not seen that before.
Wish there would be an egg roll. Need to do a little work around here. Leaving about 4:30 for Dallas.
I'm back!!! Mai is good. Napping.
I see 2 bobbleheads at NBG!!!! Feeding time for Mom and the eldest,at least!!!
Geesh!!!
Good grief, Lynn. I am sure you are glad you missed that action.
Lynn - sure glad the excitement was over by the time you shopped.
I am really happy about Lynne trying to quit smoking. She sure has my support since I've been there and done that!
which Food Lion ?? Hedgesville I suppose
That's awful !
Glad the courage was there to catch the bad guy- - close to the end of the school day also
Welcome Home Mai Ying ♥
LOL......fancy eagle fish would be FEASH which is another WV pronunciation!!!!!!!
Hope the store manager is going to be okay.
Why would the guy try to throw the knife on top of the building? Strange.
Feash ain't the fancy kind. They's the plain kind.
That is awful about the Food Lion manager...some brave souls out there who tackled the attacker.
Retail can be dangerous! Did ya'll hear about the 2 ladies in Bethesda over the weekend, one was killed, the other in critical condition..attacked in a retail store.
Trying to get rid of the evidence!
Okay, I have cut coupons, had my lunch and still no recent egg roll. Awe...come on...roll those eggs. Give us a peek...pretty please, with cream and sugar on it!☺
Time for an egg roll
Eagle up eggs in view
No, Margy, it was Courthouse Square!
Asking nicely worked, but do not see anything!
And back down...no roll that I could see.
Lynn, Does Mai have one of those
neck thingys on to prevent her from reaching the incision? I don't know if they do that anymore.
Man oh man! Really dislike it when I go to publish and it throws me over to that blogger screen - then I need to sign in again!
Hedgie - was it all there at Christmas or were some of the
decorations there. And if you say
it was all there - then I'm coming for another visit!
Shirley.....no knife, no proof he did it, I guess!!!! Well, duh, apparently plenty of eye-witnesses!
Don't know how bad the manager was hurt. I'm sure this one will make the paper!!
Boy, that is just not nice.
Jo, no collar....no sutures!!! Internal ones, and surgical glue on the outside. That is good----won't itch as much. As long-legged as she is, I'm not sure she can reach her belly with her tongue!!
That woman being not nice to Susan. Geez, what's it take to just be nice?
Hedgie - Thelma isn't in Steve's group now and recently I think it was Kelly who set things up.
Let me check some old emails - I
really think that Randy could help but you say he may not be there either. BRB
It sprinkled a bit right after I got home. But not doing it now.....supposed to rain by DC rush hour, through the night and morning.......not a very nice welcome for our chicklet if he/she pops out tonight----and we won;t be able to see, I'm sure without a moonie!
Now, what is nice?
Having the ZOOM today!
Wow, just read back. I had no idea they would keep us from coming to NCTC to see the nest. That really is a great big crock of you-know-what! Pooh!
Kind of think someone noticed him throwing the knife onto the roof, too. Bet there are plenty of cameras, too.
Hi, Everyone,
Getting here pretty late today. Have been pretty busy with homework and with paying bills online.
Today is our great-granddaughter Sierra's FIFTH Birthday! Can't believe she is that old already!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIERRA!!!
Sure do hope we have an eaglet today! Keeping the sound turned up in case there's a commotion at the nest.
Made an appt. for Emma to get spayed on Tuesday, (3/22) next week. Glad to hear that Mai is doing well, and resting!
Well, better get busy with the homework again. Will check back on my next break!
Have a great day, everyone! :o]
I really did not know it would be a problem getting in to see the nest. You all have always gotten in when you get together in June, haven't you?
Jo, maybe you can email Steve
the guards actully laughed at us. Really not cool....
Judie and I got separated from the rest of the group, which included our family members. They had gone on to the nest.
I would have been more upset if they had laughed at us.
Steve isn't available
I have emailed Kelly and am awaiting her reply...
Will let you know and will email Susan with her reply. Hopefully she will remember me by name - you know - we'll see if Jo still has some Clout... lol
Love it, Jo. Clout with a capital "C."
With binoculars we can see the nest from the Shepherd Grae roadside but I don't want to have to do that! It's dangerous..
Problem with that, Glo, is that there's no day care on Sats.....and those people probably have passes!
Yes, Jo, it would be very dangerous to park there for a view.
Decided to delete the other comment afraid someone might take a part of it the wrong way. I do hope it works out. Maybe if MeMa Jo agrees to escort them as to vouch for she knows who they are, why they are there and where they want to go.
Both our nest, and a switch.
I must take a break - not too long
Hopefully that chick in the shell will know I'm not watching and will pip right out. Look for the
half shell! Good Luck
Glo,
I stoped on the road. absolutly no place to pull off the road. you have to park on the road...
Oh Oh look at those eggs!...
no spots yet........
no spots yet........
Lib out, Belle in....good look at the eggs, nothing obvious, but couldn't see anything when Belle rolled the eggs, she was blocking the view.
what a fast switch...
:( Didn't see enough to know!
Sorry to say that our Tues. night shows are all REPEATS again...argh!
LOL Does anyone know why Lolly just sent me a dementia quiz LOL
you are all busy taking a quiz aren't you :-)
Reminder on FB from our Pammie Sue:

I forgot it was today!
Time for a split.
