Thanks Steve and everybody else who took care of this! Nice to see the blob gone. I will get the others.

Yeah, thanks so much Steve and Nu! Our nest looks fabulous!!

I have missed a lot, I know. I did not get home until 10:00 last night. When I walked out of the building, one of the teachers had a dead battery, and I happened to have jumper cables, so I got to help rescue the man. It was 10:00 when I got home, and I crashed.

Love the clean view of the nest.

Nu on the New Thread! WHoo Hoo. Thanks for the taking the pics John and then posting them on the new thread, Steve.

Shirley on the previous thread are 2 links for photos from Wanda and Deb.

Glad you saw this thread Sissy!

Mema Jo said...

lol I was over on the other thread typing away!

You can come sit at my table anytime, Sharon. Just give me a heads up because it looks just like Shirley's desk pic at times!

Shirley - did you meet the cell phone parents?

floralgirl said...

Cool pics, Steve! Thanks for sharing.
Cam looks great with clean lens. I wouldn't worry about them not pulling out that plant, the eagles have been pulling it themselves. I imagine they will pull at it more, and even pile stuff on top of it. It will freeze over the winter, and just become part of the nest.

Mema Jo said...

I think today it was more or less trampled down. At least now they have a clear landing pad!
Hi Megan!

floralgirl said...

Howdy, Jo:)

paula eagleholic said...

Wow, 2 new threads and pics!

Trying to get the videos posted on the EM blog now...

stronghunter said...

I am going to enjoy the pictures as soon as I get home.

Cell phone parents--I had a nice phone conversation with the foster mom.

My desk is pretty bad today. My Block 4 B class has grown from 18 to 27 students. Had another influx this afternoon. Was trying to figure how to handle it when the fire alarm sounded. I am supposed to take attendance outdoors at fire drill, but that is hard to do when you do not know who is in the class.

Our new system does not give a list of dropped or added students, just changes the roll. I have to print it out to have a copy outdoors.

It will be good when things settle down.

Going to head home. See you later.

Hello Helen!
Is your company having a great time?
Have you all been to the boardwalk yet?
Weather couldn't be nicer up this way.

Good early evening.
Shirley, the phrase "foster parent" says a lot about the kid---obviously a troubled background. BUT....since when do foster parents let kids have cell phones? Duh!
Latest email from NASA:
Debris Avoidance Options Narrowed
Wed, 02 Sep 2009 15:42:55 -0500

As experts continue to analyze a possible conjunction with debris from a portion of an Ariane 5 rocket body, NASA space shuttle CAPCOM Tony Antonelli informed Discovery and International Space Station crew members that the options have been narrowed to two: either not performing a Debris Avoidance Maneuver at all; or performing a reboost avoidance maneuver after Thursdays second spacewalk. There no longer is any consideration being given to deboosting the shuttle and station, which would have delayed the second spacewalk by a day.

Does that sound like a possible dangerous situation, or is it just a bunch of gobbledygook??

Good luck on tonights' test, Andy---you'll do fine!

hedgie said...

Well, I got energetic enough to vacuum and wipe down the inside of the truck this afternoon. It sure needed it!

Mits said...

yes, Jo, they like coming here, no boardwalk yet, maybe go for breakfast tomorrow....will see...busy day yesterday, lunch, trip to local diary for ice cream, went to a fav store up in fenwick, fixed lite dinner here last night....Ceil has made Tacos for tonight....I happened to wake up early and saw the beautiful ISS/SS steam across the sky....they want to get up and see it tomorrow, 2 viewsing, but the one at 5:57a.m. is the longer of the two.

Glad you're having a good time. Nice time to visit the ocean, love it there when there's a full moon.

Hi everyone. Enjoyed the videos, it's amazing how big the nests are.Just wish I would catch an eagle in there once in a while. My daughter got sideswiped by a firetruck in Charlotte yesterday, and they knocked her mirror off . Thank goodness she wasn't hurt. It just scared the daylights out of her. God is so good. Last week she stepped in a meter hole that someone had left the lid off. She has been so lucky not to get hurt. Will talk more later. Everyone have a fun Labor Day weekend. We're going to see the Panthers play Pitt. Stealers tomorrow night. Bye for now.

Mits said...

the moon has been really pretty this week, Megan:)...BIL has a new camera, and is taking lots of pics...

hedgie said...

Gwen, sure hope your daughter stays very cautious/careful....she sure doesn't need the proverbial 3rd bad thing to happen!
Mits, bet the ISS/SS was lovely....too bad Jim can't get pics of that!

magpie said...

I also saw ISS this morning, Mits... took a co-worker outside to show it to him for the first time, then ran inside to assist other co-worker with business...he was thrilled. Will check in the morning also.. Bright as Venus this morning all right.

And the Moon and Jupiter, such a lovely pairing these last few nights...

Best wishes to all, headed to a Visitation tonight for dear friend who died on Sunday. Hope to catch up on two days' worth of posts later.

Birthday project completed and in the hands of USPS now...☺

Hope all ailments are disappearing, and that magic abounds.

xo ☺ ♥

Got home a little while ago and, yes, fed George.

The college finally approved my syllabus. Even used part of it to show others how to set up a section. Thank goodness.

Enjoyed the pictures. Haven't seen the video yet. I wish I could have watched things on cam this morning, but was pretty tied up.

Will just bought a new grill and has decided to fix shrimp. Nice. I will happily sit back and let him prepare dinner.

I need to go back and do more reading.

Thx Stevve and all the Staff!

Haven't been on here all day, so will have to read back later.Got food in the oven.

deb said...

POOF, darn, sure wish I weren't alone.

hedgie said...

That was quick! Someone was obviously saying "Who's been in my nest???"

hedgie said...

But someone is still up above, messing with the assembly, it sounds like.

deb said...

About 5 minutes worth of visits, Lynn. I have video of the first and pictures of both.

hedgie said...

I'm here, Deb!

deb said...

I posted the pictures on Nest pictures, will get them to Momsters in awhile.

NatureNut said...

Oh No. I missed the eagle!!

deb said...

For awhile, I thought I was going to be the only one to see them. I think it was Belle first, then Lib.

Mits said...

I was looking for eagles about 30 mins ago, Deb, but my live feed and sound kept going off, so turned it off, glad you saw them:)

NatureNut said...

Bless you, Deb.
I wouldn't guess they would come by this late.

hedgie said...

Great, Deb...glad you got it.

stronghunter said...

Missed the visit. Decided I want to eat before 10 o'clock, so I started fixing the shrimp.

Some kind of screaming fight in the neighborhood. Almost called the police, but seems to have calmed down.

stronghunter said...

Thanks for getting pics, Deb.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

DRAT!! Missed the visit!!!

deb said...

YouTube says 2 hours to load a 2 1/2 minute video. I don't know why mine take so long to load.

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Thanks Deb for the pics! A little bit of Windex made a world of difference didn't it??

paula eagleholic said...

Glad you caught it Deb! Isn't it fun seeing them go in and out!

stronghunter said...

Will and I enjoyed the bacon-wrapped shrimp. My family is sold on that recipe. He called Tom and mentioned that he was cooking the shrimp, and Tom started hollering at Kathryn that Will was cooking the shrimp again. Will thought Tom might just come over here to eat.

stronghunter said...

Space junk is headed towards the space station. They are waiting to decide if they need to do something about it.

Costume Lady said...

We had shrimp tonight too, Shirley, but not wrapped in bacon. I didn't have the patience to do that this evening, but that is my favorite.

DEB, my videos take hours to download too. I have one from the nest visit trying to get finished on youtube and facebook, been running all afternoon:( Hope it's worth it...I haven't had a chance to look at it. Hope there is nothing on there that I wouldn't want broadcast!

hedgie said...

Shirley, I posted the last NASA update a little while ago....no new emails since then....hoping that it's not a danger!
Mmmm....shrimp sure sounds yummy. Think I could eat that every week, at least once! Sure glad the Paula told us about it.
Dana.....are you lurking? How did the apptmt. go today?

stronghunter said...

I figured you might have already posted it, Lynn. It is getting a bit harder for me to keep up with everything on here.

Have to write a test on Beowulf before Friday and finalize a review activity for tomorrow. Do have some planning time tomorrow morning to think through everything.

Costume Lady said...

I have posted a few photos of the area around the sycamore tree with the nest, for those of you who have never been there. WILD AND WONDERFUL

hedgie said...

Good ol' Beowulf!!! Sure glad I don't have to take the test...been too many years, Shirley.

Wanda, great pictures and video. Thanks for letting me know it takes hours. I tried loading a video but gave up. Now I know it takes a really long time. Will try again sometime.

Deb, love your visit pics as well. So clear and nice! Windex does wonders! A video of Nu cleaning the lens would be a fantastic ad for Windex! LOL

I have spent the day working with photos. I have too many!!!!

hedgie said...

Same ones from earlier link, right, Paula? Sure they are great, but I couldn't get them to play for more that 6 seconds....argh!

wvgal_dana said...

Get pics Wanda thank you, I haven't checked out others yet.

Lynn we got home late and I had so much to do. Then checking online for medication dr. wants to use. I don't know yet. He has set up more test for Ed. September's calendar is getting filled up already. Working with all these meds I feel like I'm working at a pharmacy.

Costume Lady said...

LYNN...are you still on here? Have you seen the Cowboy Tenors on America's Got Talent? Sound so much like Il Divo!

Paula, do your videos take HOURS to download? I'm still working on one from about 5pm!

Costume Lady said...

DANA, have you given any thought to getttin help with your meds. There are seveal programs that will give you reduced meds or even free, depending on what they are. PPA is one of them. If you would like to try contacting them, I will try to find the others. You don't have to be living under a bridge to be elegible:)

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks Wanda I did find online the drug dr. wants to try. Didn't really cost that much. It was just the new drug program he will be starting on October 1st doesn't carry the medication at all.

magpie said...

I have only had time to view Deb's pictures, of the nest visit and nest cam maintenance, and they are wonderful.
Wonder what it is like to Be Like an Eagle and Stand and Sit in the nest like that!

I will catch up on everything else through the evening, I hope....
Meanwhile, Hope everyone is well,
and treat yourself to a view of Moonie and Jupiter paired up together tonight....

Hi everyone! Sure is good to see the nest clearly. Thanx to all who contributed and those who recorded the happenings for us that didn't get to watch it live.

I see a spider is back - ewwww!!
Don't like anything with more than 4 legs.

Though I didn't catch up yet, I did look at the pictures. Great!

Today has been a busy one for us.
We started by going to a local produce market for corn on the cob, cantaloupes and lettuce. There is a beautiful cat there that I would bring home if they and hubby would let me. He was so friendly but I doubt my kitties would like to share me. ;o) don't think hubby would mind. haha

Then we had to go to our local distribution center to pick up our new K1 tablets. These are the ones for those of us within 10 miles of a nuclear reactor. We live about 5-6 miles from TMI and we were here when the accident happened - a scary time.

We had to stop at the grocery store for items we forgot on Monday and now the frig and freezer have some food in them. If they could only cook themselves ..

Had the corn on the cob for supper - mmmm good! Tomorrow I'll have a half of cantaloupe for lunch if I can stop at half. Love the lopes.

Think I'll go catch up some and check on Diego since I finally caught up reading our newspapers.

If I don't get back, bless all and prayers for those in need/want.

magpie said...

And, we are still #1 on Beakspeak for Yesterday and Last Seven Days.
Of course! That's Royalty Loyalty.

Mema Jo said...

I think I have checked out all the videos that are up and all the pics.
Don't know what we would do without you loyal photographers!

Seems like it has been a long day
My head is nodding so I will soon be taking this body to bed......

Good Night All
Prayers for everyone's needs/wants
((hugs)) ♥

I just may get up to see the ISS

wvgal_dana said...

Have a good nights sleep Jo.

Diann what is K1 pill?

stronghunter said...

Good night. Need sleep. Night light operational. Eye scan security system activated.

Grendel can't get in to eat us tonight!

hedgie said...

Yes, Wanda, saw the Texas Tenors...they are good! And love the eyes on the 3rd guy!!

hedgie said...

Good that the med isn't too expensive if the insurance won't cover it, Dana. But, if possible, get a 3 month supply before current program runs out!!

hedgie said...

Diann, back when TMI "happened", all of us in medical and security at GM had to give the feds all of our contact information "in case of immediate response need"----I wasn't happy about that AT ALL....my kids were still quite little and I was saying Whoa---that has nothing to do with my job here and I didn't sign up for this!

wvgal_dana said...

Lynn this medicine is not covered by our prescription drug program now (which covered almost every drug). Well it is but only in liquid....dr. said most can't take liquid because it taste and smells like "rotten eggs". He has to take it 3 times a day. So he advised the capsule which program doesn't cover. Just glad I found it and it wasn't a high cost.

PA Nana said...

K 1 tablets are potassium iodide used to protect the thyroid gland from radiation should another nuclear accident happen - God forbid! They are free and given by the state public health officials. Had to pick up some for our boys too. There are two doses for each inhabitant to take but only if the governor announces an evacuation in the event of the accident. They expire 12/2014. Just discarded the expired ones from 2002.

wvgal_dana said...

I wish we could find out what Ed guarded during the Cuba Missile Crisis. It was marked "Top Secret" and he had no idea what it was.

hedgie said...

That's too bad, Dana. Sounds like one my SIL takes...even in pill form.

Costume Lady said...

Might have been CIGARS, Dana;)

hedgie said...

I'm going to say goodnight. Hope everyone rests well. Peace and prayers for all.

wvgal_dana said...

lol cute Wanda tee hee but I don't think so

He couldn't place the smell back then and still can't place what the smell was. I wonder if it has played some part in his lung problems.

wvgal_dana said...

Nighters Lynn rest well.

Costume Lady said...

Lord only knows what the TOP SECRET was, Dana. Don't know how you would ever find out. Write a letter to the Editor or Journal Junction, and maybe someone would know who to contact.

Costume Lady said...

Maybe you can email Obama, he is said to answer all his emails...never answered mine about the Eagles in DC:(

Hi, everyone,
I just dragged myself home from school. Haven't taken the time to catch up yet. OOoh, Shirley, no wonder you crashed when you got home last night! You can surely expect blessings for being the good samaritan for the teacher with a dead battery!
Say, the pics posted on the new thread are super! It's SO nice having a windexed view of the nest!
I don't see any waving antennae or eight-legged freak legs, or webs, either! This could be habit forming--ya think?
Helen & Margy, I had a beautiful view of the moon and Jupiter coming out of school tonight! Wish I could've taken a picture, but forgot to take my camera along.
Lynn, I don't know quite what to make of the space shuttle situation, but it does sound kinda dicey to me. Is debris headed their way which they need to avoid?! Hope they've got it handled.
Margy, so sorry to hear about the dear friend of yours! Hugs being sent your way. We just got a tearful phone message about a dear lady who used to be Hubby's next door neighbor for years when he was growing up in PA. Her daughter called to let us know that she passed away this morning in her sleep. She was 101 years old! Her daughter was so upset she forgot to leave a phone number where we could reach her. Hope my SIL has at least an address!

magpie said...

Thanks Andrea, Welcome home...kick your shoes off and relax!

Sorry about the sad phone call...Heaven is picking up new angels every day...

And thanks to all for their well-wishes and thoughts coming my way....last few days have been difficult....

Ms Bookworm said...

Hope I did OK on the test tonight. We found out that our books are the 4th edition, and the teacher's book is the 3rd edition! His chapt. 4 is our chapt. 2; we were told to study chapts. 1-3 ( in HIS book), and that's chapt. 1 in our book! What fun we're having! Lots of laughs tonight. It was SO nice to be in class! It was all of 65 degrees there. I'm practically in shock now that I'm home, though. It's still almost 80 outside! Well, I suspect everyone has decided to hit the hay. Think I will watch some mindless TV to unwind, and then I will too. Prayers for everyone, for all needs, and for a good night's sleep. Will talk to you in the morning. G'night! (The porch light will come on when you're in range, the eye scanner is enabled, and the automatic night light is on!) :o]

magpie said...

Okay, caught up on comments and made notes but too exhausted to type anything.
Just want to say thanks to all for the blow by blow on the nest cam maintenance and the good pictures and videos, and
Prayers for Wellness and Comfort for the many folks who need them.

Going to try to catch Shuttle flyover and ISS in the morning. NASA folks just talking about toolbags...remember the runaway toolbag last year?

Good Night for now...

Been meaning to ask you. You asked me if I had seen any "Flying Beer Mugs" lately....I am trying to figure out of that is a wildflower, an insect...or something else entirely !

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
I was up at 6:30 this morning, hoping to catch a glimpse of our Royal Couple in the WINDEX ENHANCED VIEW...but, it was not to be this morning:( I went back to bed and just woke up about a half hour ago:) FELT GOOD!

MARGY, the FLYING BEER MUGS that I was referring to was in reference to a letter I read in Journal Junction. A lady said that she was riding on Rt. 9 and a beer mug was thrown into her car, hitting a passenger in the head and a short while later, another was thrown at her car. She didn't see anything or anyone, but emergency services were called. Maybe she had 1 too many mugs;)

magpie said...

Okay, Gotcha Wanda....
I try to skim the Junction, but am way behind in my "reading".

Glad you slept in this morning!
I went straight back to bed after watching ISS fly over. It was Bright and worth getting up for.

Monday Night, Labor Day, there should be one of the brightest flyovers and I will post that before the time comes.
