MORNIN' GLO!---Have missed you--& DEXTER!---If I ever get a new computer---will stop by!!!!

glo said...

LOL Norma ok enjoy your day. Getting ready to head to church now.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Have to go get ready for church, but had to tell you....we got over 4 inches of rain during the night. Since Friday.....8 inches of rain. We are celebrating! Do not need anymore on the yard, but now it is helping the lakes. Wahoo!

Loweeda...sure hope your daughter is getting rain. Have not heard a report on central Texas.

Off to church and then THE PARTY. And poor Laurel, we can not go outside, where will she hang the pinata?

stronghunter said...

Have a good day, Lolly. I am sure the pinata problem will be solved somehow.

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' LOLLY!---Don't worry---You folks always have the greatest parties!---I have always heard that things are bigger in TX---Just enjoy your wonderful family!!!

hedgie said...

Good BEAUTIFUL Sunday morning, Momsters and Dadsters. What a glorious weather day--finally!
Well, I survived Pickin'! In a crowd of 8700 people! Had a really fun time, and the bands were all good---Charlie Daniels, of course, was fantastic and a group called Cadillac Sky was entertaining w/ a lot of comedy to them. Small bluegrass combos on the "pickin' porch" were good, too.
Only bad parts were that the port-o-pots were full and reeked bad---so I held what I had for over 4 hrs. from the first urges....argh!!! And then daughter lost car in the parking area! Took us over half-an-hour to find it! No good lighting and then with SO many vehicles going in so many directions w/ blinding headlights, it was rough. MANY people were using their remotes to locate, so you couldn't really tell by using it! Funny!
No rain, thank goodness, but did get a bit chilly. And, yes, I had a sweatshirt which I put on before the show started, and then I was good to go.

hedgie said...

Margy, Patent Pending is playing today, as scheduled, in HONOR of Jim.

hedgie said...

NORMA----sorry you missed my EARLY post about the game being online! You need to read back, kiddo! We tease Jim about that, too!!!
Shirley, sounds like you made a really good deal with the furniture guy!
Am seriously concerned for Suzi....definitely, she and BF BOTH need to get restraining orders out on this wacko. And rest assured that if she follows Suzi to WV, we will use our Eagle Canes on her!!!

hedgie said...

Dana, think you made a wise decision not to go yesterday. Entire setup was alot different from last year. Guess with the size of the crowd expected and the growth of the whole thing, it was much more spread-out. MORE walking, field was full of ruts....it would have been hard on you. Too bad they didn't have golf carts!!

stronghunter said...

I really hope the problem is resolved before Oct. 16, but that is one of the problems with such a thing. How do you know when it is resolved?

hedgie said...

REDSKINS play at 4!!!!! Hope Loretta gets home in time!
I can feel a panda nap coming on....sure don't want to doze off during the game!
Got home just in time last night to find out that I really hadn't missed anything in the NASCAR arena.....had dvr'd it, but just went ahead and deleted it. NO hope of a championship this year for my man!

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' HEDGIE!---I have been wondering where you were---Have missed you!---I think I have told you that I have seen CHARLIE DANIELS before---but it was in the CHURCH MCKEE CENTER!---He was good! Was the food GOOD?

normabyrd said...

GOLLY HEDGIE!---I was on the blog all afternoon yesterday---Tell me what you said?---I haven't read today's paper yet!---I had a med question---dr hedgie---what would make my ankles swell??---& I also would like to put my name down for 10/17---It always hits SHEPHERDS HOMECOMING--but heck I think I can hitch a ride with the GENE/WANDA BUS!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I, too, have seen Charlie Daniels in concert at the Pulaski County Fair in Dublin, VA. Such a humble man.

AND - SPEAKING OF CONCERTS - I don't think I have told anybody that I am going to see Train November 15! :)

Anne-Marie said...

Morning family, its a cool pretty morning. High only 85. I can live with that.

normabyrd said...

Who are the REDSKINS playing today?
'BIG D' plays today at 1:00?

stronghunter said...

Didn't know that Sharon. It was a secret you have kept well. Train??

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Yeah, some things are better left unsaid! :)

THE REDSKINS PLAY THE GIANTS TODAY!

normabyrd said...

WHOA!---DEAR ANNE MARIE!!---I don't have email--so I rarely get to see you!---I am overjoyed that you are feeling better!----I have really--really missed you!---Stay COOL!----

Anne-Marie said...

Brother called last night and I will be Shepardstown I think the 29th of Sept. Going to Richmond for business then Williamsburg, then northern NC and back to Ohio via as the crow flies. Next year New England.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Train - Calling All Angels

normabyrd said...

SHARON---I just read they have changed TOMMY THE TRAIN FACE---Is that the TRAIN you are going to see???

Anne-Marie said...

Oh Sharon you and my Diana and "train". I swear the wall paper is pealing in her room from having that CD so loud.

hedgie said...

Did I see or hear TRANE???? That's an air conditioner company! LOL, Sharon!
Right--Giants on tap for first game of the season, Norma.
Shirley, is your new computer a mini like mine? About 7"x9"? I've been told it's called a "netbook". Mine is a Dell. Daughters' MIL got it free when she changed internet providers---she traded it with me for a digital cam that the girls gave me for Christmas that really didn't measure up to my needs! They were okay with me doing that! And I think I got the best end of the bargain! Now I don't have to coop up in the office to compute!

Anne-Marie said...

time of church.. BBL

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

No, Normabyrd, if you click on the link I have above, you will see a video of the Train I am going to see!

hedgie said...

Great news, A-M!!!! Will mark my calendar for the 29th!!!! Assuming that Sandy will be with you and Bill, right???

normabyrd said...

Thanks SHARON!---Now I can figure out your AVATAR!!----COOL!---I'm old--you need to humor me!---or should I say---I'm young--& I know every thing!---ho!

normabyrd said...

I did SHARON---I listened too!--pretty cool!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

I am so thrilled that I even had Normabyrd listening to train!!!! :)

normabyrd said...

whoa dear sharon--why wouldn't i like him---he is good---& good looking too---(I was teasing about TOMMY THE TRAIN, etc)--I didn't know of him before---

Mema Jo said...

Good Sunny Sunday Afternoon!
Wow! Good news that we will see you Norma on the 17 of Oct
WOW! Good news that we may see Anne Marie for lunch on 9/29 Tues.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Well, Mema Jo, as a matter of fact I am going November 15 to Charlotte Fillmore to see Train and Uncle Kracker in concert. Thanks for asking.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

David Beckham is definitely a hottie!

normabyrd said...

MORNIN' MEMA JO----BIG D plays at 1:00 today!!

Mema Jo said...

Big D You mean your Cowboys ?

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

No, she means Cowchips!

Mema Jo said...

What time is Paula stopping by to see you Mits?

normabyrd said...

HEY SHIRLEY---Do you have any favorite PRO TEAM??----I have been a DALLAS fan for years----

stronghunter said...

Redskins, Norma. Sorry.

stronghunter said...

College teams--of course, East Carolina, but also UNC. My father went there, so I grew up supporting them. Also like George Mason since daughter goes there. They had a good basketball team a couple of years ago. That was fun. Suzi said that it was ecciting to walk around campus then.

I also got a degree from Mary Washington. They don't do football.

stronghunter said...

We lived in columbus when Woody Hayes was big. That town was an exciting place to be on game day. Woody went a little nuts at the end of his career.

hedgie said...

Sorry, Norma...missed your posts! Yes, food was good--had delicious pit beef BBQ and a butterfly potato with cheese!
Ankle swelling can be from fluid retention...which sometimes is just from being on your feet or sitting with legs hanging down for too long. But it also could mean something serious like kidney problem or congestive heart failure.....so really think you should see your Dr.!
So glad you are coming for Open House! Will you be joined by your lovely daughter for dinner?

Mits said...

don't know Jo, but I'm cleaning the condo, and it is cloudy, so not going anywhere.

normabyrd said...

I don't think they are the favorite today---but I still love 'em!!!

Mema Jo said...

GAME TIME

deb said...

I am a Vikings fan, from way back when. I am going to run over to Yankton to see if there are any birdies around. It will be strange with Janie gone for another year.

normabyrd said...

SHIRLEY---Must tell you my friend's
granddaughter is a freshman at MARY WASHINGTON this year!---She loves it---such a beautiful campus!!

normabyrd said...

DEB!---If you are going to YANKTON----I am sure the birds will be waiting for you!---ENJOY THIS GORGEOUS DAY!

stronghunter said...

It is a beautiful campus. For a short time, I lived a couple of blocks from the campus and took a summer class then. It was nice to walk over to the campus.

stronghunter said...

Have some friends on the faculty there. Very nice people.

stronghunter said...

Mary Washington is a good school with a good reputation. I usually get my weekend classes for recertification through Mary Washington. Since I have already been accepted there, it is easier.

Mema Jo said...

Deb Gabby went home with Janie - right? Good you can like follow up at the hacking tower just in case someone shows up! I know you will miss Janie and her crew.
I know you have USD right there in Vermillion but I don't see any courses involving a degree for Birds.....

stronghunter said...

BBL

hedgie said...

I am suddenly seeing titmice, wood thrushes and downy woodpeckers....wonder where they spent their summer? Guess they must like cooler temps, so maybe went north!

deb said...

Yes, Gabby and ToTo, too. BBL

magpie said...

Just caught you, Deb....
Have a good day....xo

Mits said...

how was the market, Margy?

magpie said...

Lynn....
If I could be there to see Patent Pending, I would be....still very sad about Jim't dying, but I play Bluegrass CDs every chance I get, including two by Patent Pending.

Glad you enjoyed yourself, but sounds like some major upgrades need to be done next year, an opportunity for someone who understands the needs of the fans

Good Afternoon All

BWO looks very pretty this afternoon.

But not as pretty as Megan looked at market today!

magpie said...

I'm going to be busy putting up some photos, and when I yell Hey! I want you to see what I got today....

Gave Megan your all's hugs this morning...♥

Mema Jo said...

Ravens up 10 and Cowboys up 6

magpie said...

Hey !

Magpie's Roost for Flowers. Zinnas, Sedum, Asters and some other little beauties I should have asked Megan the names for.

Fun and Dandy for more flamingos, a cemetery decoration, and one more Megan Posy Picture.

Market was great, Helen - such a friendly place, and so much to see and buy, but I stuck to flowers, plants from a couple of other vendors, and some Heirloom Tomatoes! And the Market Bag.

xo

Mema Jo said...

Glad you bought a Market Bag! I need one but I always had someone with me to carry things!
Off to see your pics!
So glad you didn't get beeped for work

magpie said...

Asked Megan if she would be at Open House, she said she Always makes it to Open House! In fact, she and family discovered a little notice in the paper several years ago about an NCTC Open House, and has been going ever since, and grabbed the rest of us up along the way ☺

This was a few years before my Momster Time....☺

magpie said...

Me too, JO ....spent some time at the cemetery my sister is buried at in Hedgesville...that was my informal Mass for the day....

Asked her to pray for all our needs.....

Mema Jo said...

Margy, Where is the Fall arrangement with the little scarecrow sitting? Is it a grave site?

NatureNut said...

This is my 3rd try to post a link...aarrgghh Preview, click the link, it works, but everything then disappears.
Back from store, now to work, but first I really wanted tto brighten your day when you see this!Someone on a forum posted the link to '06 Puleston Video Archive. The highlight is the 19th title on the list, "Now it's My Turn!
Flag Tricks Stripe

NatureNut said...

SORRY, that's 10th title

magpie said...

That was a good one, Loretta! Can't wait to see your completed banner also !
Thanks, the Puleston site has a lot of great things on it...

Mema Jo - Yes, in the Hedgesville cemetery. FF who died had been a lifetime member, lifetime farmer, and also was the custodian for years at the elementary school. He died, from cancer, four years ago.

Mema Jo said...

Loretta - that was hilarious! Flag was one cool chick! lol

magpie said...

My Original Megan flower plants are still going pretty strong...my porch is graced in my favorite color: Yellow!
And of course the mums are yellow!
Musician/s canceled out at 10:30 last night...no music there yet when I had left.

Well, I am committed to working on the computer and some home projects for the next few hours, if I don't return you can guess that I hit a wrong button somewhere or hit a download I should not have hit.... Mits - I will be using those instructions you sent...or at least, trying to...
Give Paula some Eagle Hugs from us!
And Yourself too ! xoxo ☺ ♥

hedgie said...

Margy, glad you got to see Megan! Hope she sold out.
Waiting for your pics!

Mits said...

that was funny, Loretta:)

WONDER if LOLLY forgot about the game----They were having BIRTHDAY parties!!

normabyrd said...

nap time--

stronghunter said...

Rest well. Norma. I am just starting to watch my game.

deb said...

I am back home already. I only saw two Osprey, very quiet and decided to come on home.

Vikings won, too!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Well, that looks like fluff to me in our nest!

Mema Jo said...

I wonder when we had visitors to the nest if that is fluff. Sunlight and shadows play tricks on the eyes at times.

Mema Jo said...

Deb in a way that was good not to see too many osprey sitting there wondering where every one went...

deb said...

They have been gradually moving on, Jo. Not too surprised that was all I saw.

Mits said...

Paula just left, said to say hi.

deb said...

EAGLE IN OUR NEST!!!

deb said...

Poof

magpie said...

Well I am about to download drivers...I might see you all later...
Glad you got to see the Eagle Deb... you have the magic touch!
It's early yet, one/both might return !

BTW - Crescent moon in early morning is approaching close to Mars and Venus these next few days.

TTFN - - unknown how long "N" is going to be

magpie said...

Reminder: Jo suggested that when there is action in the nest on still cam, you can hit the refresh button as often as you like...makes for more continuous action....It Works!

hedgie said...

Well, that game s---ed!!! Certainly hope things start looking up or it's going to be a long, miserable season!

Mits said...

doing that does not give my a continuous refresh at all

NatureNut said...

BIG BIRD in the nest!!!

NatureNut said...

It poofed!

Judie said...

Good evening, everyone!

Been a bit of too busy today and just finally a minute to say hello to you.

Now must call a former student who was a police officer in Vienna, Va and is now a Deputy Sheriff in Houston. Her brother is having surgery tomorrow a.m. for stage three melanoma tumor on his neck. Want to let them know I am praying for a complete success.

I'll try to catch up some later.

Happy thoughts for those who had successful teams today and tamorrah is another day for those of us whose teams were less than successful.

Judie

NatureNut said...

Got a pic of the visit & put on Blog.
Saw that Lolly got RAIN. Daughter near Austin (home) said it's rained for 4 days in a row!One area has had 14" and some places near Houston have had flash floods. However Lake Travis has not risen at all! The plug must be out!
Gotta eat & think Redskins are on????

Mema Jo said...

A 5 sec refresh is not continuous BUT

it sure beats 30 sec refresh. I know

the live feed has us spoiled but it is

just back to where we began!

Ms Bookworm said...

Good Evening, Everyone!
Finally getting back here after catching up on the blog a bit.
Spent the night at SIL & BIL's, babysitting the 2 bulldogs. It has been really nice today--much cooler, like 75 or so, with cloud cover and a nice cool breeze! Thank the Lord!
Shirley, I'm really concerned for your daughter and her BF! Hope they managed to get a restraining order in place! Prayers going up for that situation, for sure.
Judie, prayers for your former student's brother, too, and also hoping for a complete recovery!
Sharon, Train is fabulous! Thanks for the link!
While sitting on SIL's front porch, saw a Towhee, an Oregon Junco, an Anna's hummer, and 2 cute squirrels! They also have brush rabbits living under their deck. Very fun and restful to sit & watch for a while.
Well, gotta get busy on--(yeah, you guessed it!)--More homework!
Hope you all have a good night, and I'll be back in the morning.
Prayers being said for all....G'night! :o]

deb said...

Refreshing doesn't work on my computer either, at least at 5 seconds. I can get a new picture about 15 seconds in. Weird that it works on some computers and not others.

Mits said...

yes no matter how many times I refresh, it might only give me 15 second, by that time they are in and out....I know it is what it is, but I don't have to like it, and never put it on till someone gives out the alert

Mits said...

they are just too many workablre cams to watch out there in cyberspace....

deb said...

I don't refresh, just let it go. I figure any view is better than no view. Too bad the new guy at Outdoor TV didn't want us, but maybe the new people won't have a 15 minute limit on viewing. We can always hope.

Mits said...

yep, hope is all we have.

deb said...

I hope everything is OK at the Moose Cam, seems strange that Pook hasn't updated in so long.

deb said...

Raccoon party at Pix PA.

magpie said...

Sorry !

I was so excited....
I guess I should have been more specific when posting the information about what Jo said yesteday...I guess it IS about every 5 seconds...it was working like that for me this morning during the visit. I didn't mean to circulate information that isn't working for everyone...

I made it through about 15 scans and several updates but a few of the sound devices will still not reload, and I have some 3-page instructions to do ... one of these days....

Oh well, no live feed, no sound for some functions, I guess I can survive....
Especially since I can now have a couple of Heirloom Tomato Sandwiches...

Good Sunday Evening to all

Mema Jo said...

I guess I best test the refresh on our still cam after listening to you two.
I am having self doubts. I just remember the still cam was able to
refresh at 5 secs... you both may remember that a long time ago........

magpie said...

I did something really kooky and way extravagant last night, but just for old time's sake because my Mother always bought one of these:

Vogue Magazine

Holy Smokes! I can't belive some of the shoes in there....not to say some of the other fashions, but I just wasn't prepared for the shoes!

xo ☺

Mema Jo said...

Margy - I couldn't walk in them and
they sure wouldn't blend in with your
bibs LOL

magpie said...

Loretta got a good screen capture of this evening's Big Bird! What an unusual poze and gaze, or is it pose and gase....
Brain is mush.

Jo - I did notice that sometimes when I hit it it was the same view, but most of the times I got a new view...but it was faster than every 30 second for me, I do know that.

magpie said...

I see that some got rain and lots of it, but today was one of the finest weather days I can ever remember!
Leaves are beginning to change...ever so slightly.

Mema Jo said...

Beating a dead horse..........

If I start at 30 sec and at 25 secs
I hit refresh and go back to 30 sec

Aren't I getting a 5 sec refresh...?

magpie said...

Sister and I used to cut out pictures from Vogue when we were little, and put the flat pages in boxes.....we had great fun doing that!

Yeah, wouldn't fit in with bibs all right. I don't know how to be a tall person ! ☺

deb said...

Yes you are, but my picture doesn't change until about 15 seconds. Still cam is better than none, and the picture is great, I am a happy camper!

Time to read and relax. Night everyone!

Mema Jo said...

I fed your hamster and turtles Deb.
They sure were hungry critters.
Your nest pics and turtle pics were enjoyable! I did miss this early evenings visit - just like I miss all the early morning ones. Chrissy sent pic of this morning's eagle.......

magpie said...

I guess I am like a kid at a candy store with my camera...

For any of you Sycamore Fans, I just put three pictures up on Fun and Dandy from Swinging Bridge yesterday....think you will like the 3rd one the best ! ☺

Good Night, Deb...I am not far behind you here soon....

hedgie said...

Yes, it was lovely, Margy. Youwouldn't believe the acorns here....huge and beautifully varied in colors. At least 100 have down just near deck since yesterday afternoon!!!!
Loretta, hate to tell you but you missed the game! It ended at 7:30....and we l-o-s-t....boo!
Andrea, don't OVER-study!
Judie, prayers for your friend.

magpie said...

Same on the prayers and best wishes as you, Jo....
caught up with a bunch of them at the cemetery this morning, will be adding a few more with Pillow Prayers.

TTFN calling it a day.
Love to all, Sleep Sweetly, and as always,
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ☺ ♥

magpie said...

Well same as Jo, of course, but I am sorry, Hedgie... I read your last comment thinking it was Jo's post. Told you my brain was mush.

Sure wish I could have gone to see Patent Pending......

stronghunter said...

Good evening all.

Judie, prayers for your friend.

Thanks to all for your prayers and words of concern for Suzi and her bf.

My dogwoods are slowly showing ther signs of fall; leaves are turning reda and the red berries are appearing.

Too bad about the Redskins.

update from BWO....

Nest Update

09/13/09:
We were a little worried that Braveheart was on her own and without food, but we just received a couple pics showing dad is still watching over her. Although she really needs to become more independent.

Reminder: We posted the final entry in our 2009 Osprey Cam Web Log.

Mema Jo said...

Hi Shirley - Glad to see you back on here and hope your afternoon was pleasant.

Mema Jo said...

The cam at PA woods is moving along with the raccoons. Can't believe someone would be there.......

Mema Jo said...

This is very upsetting but expected...
Police in Connecticut on Sunday said they found what they believe is the body of a Yale University graduate student and bride-to-be hidden inside the wall of a university building where she was last seen five days before.

Judie said...

Last check in for tonight.

Thank you for the prayers for Deputy Donna's brother.

Shirley, pleae have Suzi keep a record of every event that occurs no matter how innocuous it may seem. Ask her to be proactive and keep police at the University and her apt. complex updated on ANYTHING that seems of concern. One thing the victim must do is keep a record of everything and anything as that may be used as evidence. Sadly, the victim has to take responsiblity as police cannot be there 24/7. If she wants a police contact, let me know and I'll try to help her.

Turning my light out now but leaving the night light on for others. G'night, everyone.

Judie

Mits said...

yes Jo just got that breaking news...sos sad

Suzi's day was uneventful. She is safely in her apartment with her kitties. Boyfriend saw that she got in safely before he went off to work. He works overnights. Going to study and get some sleep. I told her that my friends were concerned and read Judie's advice to her.

Profane telephone calls are covered by ordinance 18.2-427, according to Suzi. That one has been violated by this woman.

Suzi is going to study and then sleep, that is. I am going to sleep. My brain can no longer study after 10:00 at night.

See you tomorrow.

May God bless and protect us all.

Shirley, also tell Suzi that if she receives any calls/messages from this person on her cell phone--do NOT delete/erase!!!!
What a shame about Ms. Le. I surely pray that they catch whoever did this.

One official had said yesterday that the fire alarm was coincidental. My theory is that: a)murderer pulled the alarm to either divert attention before he killed her or to evacuate the bldg. so that he could get away or b)that she pulled it while she was fighting for her life.

Goodnight, fine fowl friends. Prayers for all in need. Peace.

Had a nice long visit today with GeeGee and Karla. My Dustin is gone. I will miss him. He helped me out so much with the shop by wandering through and taking note of accessories that needed to be restocked...items that I had overlooked.
Reason for me mentioning his help is because he used to be a LAZY pup and it is a joy to see him being helpful, finally!

GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL

Shhhhh! I think everyone has gone nitey nite! Shhhhhh!

Loweeda...love the archived video you posted. It was so funny! Oh, I do hope we have three babies this year in our nest. It makes for such interesting watching.

NORMA.....we NEVER forget the COWBOY games!!!! Jack recorded it as it started at noon here and we were at church. He watched a little before we left for Laurel's, then listened to it on the radio, and last he saw the end at Laurel's. DA BOYS ARE IT!!!

Party was great. Jacob's eyes bugged when he saw the cake and was speechless. I think he loved it! It was so cute, we counted down and then he blew out the candles. Hung the pinata in the garage. Worked great! She also went and purchased to party games, since they had to stay inside.

We are now close to 9 inches of rain since Friday. Drove through water over the road going to church. (It was a safe place!) Saw roads that were closed and creeks huge with run off.

Stopped at the grocery store on the way home and bought prepared fresh fruit to take to luncheon tomorrow. Do not have to sneak in without a dish!

Whoops! Jack has just started watching the recorded game. Like I said, we NEVER forget games. lol

Time for me to go bathe. Nite all.

Sleep tight...sweet dreams for all!

Good Morning Eagle Pals...
Sure is a spectacular, clear morning here in Berkeley County.
Just checked the skies, the Eastern skies are full of the Moon, and a bunch of star clusters and constellations. Orion, Pleaides, Hyades, and so on and so on. Straight down from Orion is a very bright star Cirius...Mars is out and Venus coming up as well.

Well, Best wishes for a Great day, and that the Eagles make an early morning visit for you...

TTFN working 6 am to 6 pm today.

xoxo ☺ ♥
