Good morning everybody. Mattie and I saw a lady at the band competition Saturday night that had a San Diego Zoo T-shirt on with a panda on it. I didn't get a chance to talk to her to see if she had gone or if somebody else went and just brought her back a T-shirt!
GOOD MORNING...It is 58° here and no wind as of yet. I'm like Megan, I HATE WIND! Sharon, when you were talking about the person with the SD T-Shirt...I thought you were going to tell us that you ripped it off of her! LOL
Wanda, Mrs. Riffe is doing better, thanks for asking. She is just tired and I think is ready to go. Her quality of life is so far from what she has always had and she hates it.
Ha ha -yeah, Sharon, you should've gotten that panda shirt! Hello all :) I still had two hummers here yesterday, they are still kinda small. Must be juvenile males, they need to bulk up and get out of here. But I did ask hubby if I could keep them in the house all winter, cause I hate it when all the hummers leave my garden. I gets so quiet out there. Gotta go cut flowers...bbl
Sissy, when their quality of life is low and they are WANTING to go, then I feel that is the time for the Lord to take them. Their passing is a blessing at that makes it easier on their loved ones.
Saw hummers at Park a week ago, but none at home. Will watch today, since we have some sun. Lots of goldfinches and NO eagles at the nest area this AM. Gotta get a pic of naturalist Stephanie's monarch "babies". She has about 12 chrysalises in a lovely net cylinder that we sometimes display. She said there have now been 3 on the Pepsi machine!!
Oh, yes, Sissy, it will be hard, for sure. But it's easier to let go when a person is tired of living. I didn't think I could stand it when my Dad died, but found myself praying to God to take him....and he did. Cried all the way home from the Nursing Home, but not once at the funeral. He was at peace!
they had a 4D pic taken about a month ago, have not seen it, so guess I will just wait for Benjamin to arrive, just praying that everything is going to be ok. God willing:)
Wanda, Yes, we are coming. I would love to go on Sun. train ride, but would be a lot of grumbling if we brought 2 cars! He always wants to get home---says it's because of the animals, but they're pretty self-sufficient.
I have to chuckle living in this area, the media is just outrages with the Redskins, it is all consuming,,,,it is Tuesday, let it go, and go on from it...hell, they could go on to win the rest of their games this year...
Tom just called home tore all to pieces. Downard's has cut way back, no more overtime at all. They have been on mandatory 10 hour days for years. Brake Supply bought them less than 6 months ago and work has steadily declined since then. For the first time in forever, they are really worried about their jobs! And I just put us on a great budget, been doing good with it to. Reckon I will have to adjust!!
It was nice to see a real eagle this morning. Good morning to you all. I'm glad you all keep me up to date on all the live cams. I love the big fat raccoons on the Penn. cam and check in on them every night. It's cold here this morning, about 50 but hate to turn on the heat this early. My doctor husband had a physical last week and had some minor problems. He's now being a fanatic about losing weight and exercising. I hate exercise! He's going to drive me crazy. Keep us in your prayers and I'm thinking of all of you even when you don't hear from me much. I read a quote that I loved yesterday. We're all angels with one wing and have to embrace one another to stay afloat. Love, Gwen
Morning all from WINDY and chilly Hedgesville----like Wanda, it was 58, but wind is gusting pretty strong here, so feels colder. Sissy, terrible news about Tom's job---hope things improve and that no lay-off happens. BTW---no one except Shirley expressed interest in the Eagle train....sent her a pamphlet in case she and her daughters want to go on their own.
Morning! Nothing much "good" about it. Have not talked with Laurel but on facebook she said Joseph is now running a fever. Wow is me! I am needed up there more than ever now.
Gwen, that's a really nice quote. Gee, you mean the doc hasn't been taking care of himself??? LOL---this nurse knows that old saying: Do as I say, not as I do----think MAY doctors live by that creed! They are only human, too. Can sure understand that when they finally "get it" about themselves, life can be miserable for the spouse. Hang in there!! Glad to see you have time to pop in for a visit....too bad our cam can't show you an eagle!
Just talked with Laurel. She does not want me to stay. I may bring Jacob home with me, but he is coughing. Joey is taking both boys to the doctor this morning.
I am taking food up there and maybe just leaving it on the front porch. Oh, I just do not know what to do. So, far Joseph is not REALLY sick. He is running a fever and coughing, but watching TV. Jacob is just coughing, wish he had gone to school instead of staying in that house!!!!
This flu is really scary. A perfectly healthy 13 year old in Fort Worth started getting sick last Wed. , went to the doctor, and she died Sunday. That is on everyone's mind.
Hi, Gang, Oops--new thread! Thanks, Steve! --and Megan! Jumping in here with a quick good morning, and running out the door. Headed for the EDD office to see where I stand with them! Will be back in a while. Have a good day, and will talk to you soon as I'm back home! :o]
Lolly, know you don't want to just drop food on porch and leave! Why not stop and drug store and get masks??? Sure hope the kids are just getting regular colds! Better not to listen to the news---they hype up the bad stuff just because of H1N1, when in reality, even regular flu and pneumomia and meningitis cause unexpected sudden death of young people every year.
iT'S a cool 64° with heavy overcast here this morning, and the cool shall continue with a high of only 76° today; but the sun should break through the overcast by the P.M.
ZZ is on camera at San Diego right now...they might be doing another exam on the baby.
And Lun Lun, Xi Lan, are outdoors in the sun this morning.
Check the progress of the Loch Garten Ospreys. The first migrator, which had been hanging in the Bordeaux area was across the Mediterranean, out over the Atlantic and part way down the coast of Morocco, yesterday.
Hello Friends - It is chilly - long pants weather now. Getting my day started.. a little later then normal. Some serious conversations happening.. Concerns for Lolly and what to do about helping Laurel and also the upcoming trip that has been planned so far ahead. I know the feelings Tom must be having especially as Head of Household and job stability! My prayers are with everyone of you
One meal in the oven. Jack is cooking sausage for another. Will put it in the oven shortly. Probably will get a mask. Depends on what the doctor says about Jacob on whether I bring him home or not. Lynn, one dish I am taking up there is the Pizza casserole.
Well, geez, ok, I will go back to work...gotta make bouquets anyway...can't get a break around here. Hope things go okay at Laurel's Lolly, good luck. Sharon, that remark will get you in trouble...
Lolly, I'm sorry you are in that worrying situation with the sick kids.... I hope they both don't have anything serious in the final analysis.
Your comment about leaving food outside of the door reminded me of the quarantine process we had to go through in '45 when I came down with the German Measles...very soon after the end of the War.
Do they still do quarantines??
I was bed bound for the whole two weeks, but my mother also had to stay inside the apartment we had in a Federal housing project the whole time, and no one could come in or go out. There was a Quarantine Notice tacked to the front door.
A good friend and neighbor in "the units" would stand well outside the door, my mother would tell her the supplies we needed through a crack in the door; she would do our shopping (still had the rationing system in place) and then deposit the food and the rest on the doorstep.
It was fairly rigorous and made it hard for Mom, who had a new baby too; but it kept stuff from spreading.
Nowdays, they make you come into the office no matter what. We are lucky as H. we don't have more epidemics.
I'm supposed to go to the MD this afternoon and get the regular flu shot at that time. Maybe they have news about the Swine Flu shot by now.
Hi, Everyone, I'm BAaaack! Didn't take as long as I expected at the EDD. Signed in, waited a bit, and they put me on a phone. Eventually got through to someone who looked me up in the system, and gave me a Confirmation #. She said the fact that I pursued the matter to that point "forced" them to reopen my file, and I should be getting a letter, and (hopefully) some paperwork from them to get an extension on my UI. Phew! Makes me wonder what would've happened if I had done nothing! The mighty lengthy voice mail recording you get when you call them eventually says that after the second extension you have to wait for THEM to send you paperwork, and it delays matters for YOU to reapply on your own. Fun, fun, Fun!!! I'm just mighty grateful that it sounds like I've done the right thing.
LOL......Lolly, I think Megan should stay IN---as little as she is, she might blow away! The kids will enjoy Paula's Pizza Casserole----and sure that Joey will, too. Just hope that Laurel feels like eating. Oh, my, Shar....sissy's gonna be after you. Jim, glad it's cooled off for you---hope it's the same up Andrea's way! isn't it great that Rothes has finally started to move?! Wonder if she and Mallachie will ever meet up and recognize each other?
Jim, don't think they do quarantines anymore. It would be impossible----no doctors make housecalls (or very, very few) and with all testing they want to do requires going to labs or hospitals, etc. About the closest they come is when they decide to close schools. Sure glad my measles were 10 yrs. later than yours!! No quarantine---but Dr. DID make housecalls back then.
I think that childhood illnesses were easier to confine back then because the majority of mothers didn't work, so schools weren't used as babysitting services, and don't think there was much in the way of daycare! Of course, since infectious period is usually 10 days prior to symptoms, everybody got exposed----but we caught it, recovered, became immune and survived just fine! Rememnber TB sanitoriums???
Actually, Hedgie, until she took off to have my sister, my mother worked six days a week at Convair Aircraft building planes for the War.
WWII is what really brought most American women out of the home and into the work force.
As I said my sister was born in May, 1945, and the War was winding down. Men returning from overseas needed the jobs as well, so my mother did not return to Convair ... until maybe '52-53 when she went back for economic reasons and built some more planes.
She was the total housewife and mother though for maybe 7 or 8 years.
[You wouldn't believe how open and undeveloped the areas outside of San Diego were then ... or how built up they are now.]
When one of us caught measles or chicken pox, they put us all in a room together, us and our cousins, so we would all get it at the same time! Now that would be deemed child abuse! Ain't it funny how times have changed!!
Oh, Jim, the growth now compared to the lack thereof back then is everywhere! Sandra and I were talking yesterday about what Tyson's Corners (outside of DC in VA) was like when we were young---literally a corner crossroads with a little mom and pop store and now it's all malls and office bldgs. and hotels, etc., with massive traffic congestion! But when I was a kid, a drive in the country was a trip there!
Also remember when Dulles Airport first opened---long drive in the country to get there, and you might see 2 or 3 planes take off or land if you were there for a few hours! And after all these years, they are just now getting around to planning running the Metro train system to Tysons and on to Dulles. Can't call it the subway since they are insisting on putting it above ground.
Ahhh....Now to the really important stuff! Lolly, prayers being said for you and your family. Sure hope everyone starts feeling much better, really quickly! Keep on washing your hands, and maybe get some of that hand sanitizer gel. I'm sure lots of rest is important, too. I'm glad so many of us are getting flu shots! Even if they're not for the swine flu variety, they seem to get your immune system in gear. Sissy, so sorry to hear about Tom's job worries! Prayers for that situation, for sure! Hang in there! Megan, loved the videos! Has anyone heard how Red is doing today? Prayers for him, too. Also, prayers for Davin. Glad she's doing so well. Gwen, don't worry, prayers for you and your hubby are being said, as always! (I could stand to exercise more and do some walking every day. All the homework I've had keeps me sitting in one place too long!) Maybe I should get busy and really clean house! Nothing like scrubbing floors to really burn some calories.
Jim, I think it was about 1951 or 52 when I got the measles. Didn't quarantine me, because they didn't know what I had at first. Took me over 2 weeks to break out in spots! I was home in bed, though. Doctor made house calls. We were living in Utah then, and there was snow all over the place. None of my friends came down with it. Maybe the cold weather kept it from spreading--don't know for sure.
I can remember Orange County, CA from about 1947 or so. Boy, was it different then! Just unbelievable how built up it is everywhere now! Used to be all kinds of open pasture land and tons of orange orchards. Now it's all concrete and buildings!
Meals on Wheels is leaving. Boys did not test positive for the flu but that does not mean they do not have it. It is still early for them. Anyway, heading up there. Have a box of masks from the pharmacy.
Hopefully some time this week, Lynn. The EDD needs to hear from the Govt. about who to consider eligible, and how much $ to give them, and for how long. Congress voted in the extension, now we're waiting on the red tape.
Well, gotta run to the post office. Also--you guessed it!--more homework to do! And a Pharmacology test and an Anatomy Mid-term to study for! ARRrgh! No rest for the weary. Onward! Will BBL. TTFN! :o]
Okay, here is a story for me to share with you all. My best friend, Charlie, is a flight attendant for US Airways. He is going on an international flight today (does not work those much) to Paris. He has a 28 hour layover. He flies out of Philadelphia. Andrew's best friend, Jon, is leaving out of Philadelphia today going to Rome and then to Rimini, Italy where he will compete in some kind of program playing the organ. Now they both will be at the airport in Philly at the same time, flying across the pond into the same direction around the same time. Now, what are the odds that I would know 2 people in the same airport going in the same direction on the same day and not flying together??? Just blows my mind. Definitely praying for very safe flights for both of them because I love them both dearly! :)
Well, I have been laughing until I cried. Been on the phone with Charlie and bringing up an English to French translator online to teach him how to say beef, pasta and chicken in French. OMG, it has been a blast. He has no brains! :)
Well, I go off to do teach and all kinds of stuff happens.
Not sure what happened but seems Megan is out-of-control and has headed for Oz to escape Ms. Gulch. Hope she clicks her heels together and says: there's no place like open house, there's no place like open house.
Lolly, hope everyone gets healthy very quickly. I'm sorry everyone is going through this. Just take care of yourself, as well.
Andy, try to take a break once in awhile. Relax and take a deep breath or two.
Well, very tired this late afternoon. The wannabe adults have literally given me a headache. Off to rest a bit before my daily frig gazing exercise.
not sure, why, Lynn, just have never been on a list of places I want to visit, might have something to do with people I have met from there, and stories from people who have visited, not all negative, but enough to make me want to take my money elsewhere.
Hi, Judie. Hope your headache goes away quickly---being home has to help! And hope you get yummy inspiration while fridge gazing! Helen, have not been to anyplace European since I was a toddler, so can't voice an opinion at all! But if given the opportunity, I'd like to go everyplace!! And not have to stay if I didn't like it!
Tsunami watch out for Hawaii from the earthquake in Somoa. Sure hope it stays a watch and misses the Islands. I have a cousin in Honolulu. He said if it hits it would be at 1:11 Hawaii time.
we are sad to see Happy go, but he should be happy to have 2 new companions:)
WASHINGTON - The National Zoo has completed the delicate task of transporting a "keenly sensitive" 5,000-pound hippopotamus from Washington to Milwaukee. Happy the hippo arrived at the Milwaukee County Zoo at 3 a.m. Tuesday after leaving Washington about 17 hours earlier on a flatbed truck. His home in Washington is being eliminated as the National Zoo makes room for an expanded elephant exhibit.
The National Zoo says Happy was transported in a special steel-framed and lumber-lined crate built by zoo staff. He was trained ahead of time to enter the crate and remain there calmly. He wasn't sedated for the trip.
In Milwaukee, the 28-year-old Happy, who was born at the National Zoo, will be paired with two female hippos, Patti and Puddles, for possible breeding.
Well, Happy will be happy to meet Patti and Puddles!
I am home. Went to Denton to Laurel's. Wore a mask while in the house. The boys told me that when they went to the doctors they had to wear a mask.
Jacob tried on some clothes I took to him. Then I took him to get a hair cut and we also went to the grocery store. Took him home and then I left. Made me sad. I never even saw Laurel. But, I know they have meals for the next three days.
Cute Jacob story! I had both boys jackets. I had hiking patches to sew on. Jacob needed a new jacket so I took a new jacket as well as a wind suit set, jacket and pants. for him to try on. He tried on the jacket and then I had him try on the pants...over the shorts he had on,. "Are these jacket pants?, he asked." Laurel said, "Oh, great, from now on he will insist on wearing them over shorts. He is so cute!
Tsunami hits Samoa islands after quake and as Hedgie mention the death toll is going upward. Prayers for all!
Sharon - please keep us posted on Jon's progress. Such a great opportunity for him.
Tonight is my TV night! Hope all of them are as good as last Tues. I may watch the 'Good Wife" if I can sit still that long after watching 2 prior to it.
Hey, Red, so glad to see you up and about!!! Don't overdo. Have you ever had major surgery before? Isn't it amazing how much easier things are now?? You take it slow and easy, ok??
Lolly, cute story about Jacob and the pants! Know that you are feeling kind of helpless at the moment. But knowing that they will be well-fed is heartwarming!
TOKYO (MarketWatch) -- The National Weather Service's tsunami warning center issued a tsunami advisory for the U.S. West Coast from the Mexican border to the Oregon-Washington border, the service said late Tuesday after an 8.3 earthquake struck American Samoa. The center said no widespread inundation was expected for any of the areas, but that large waves and strong currents could lead to dangerous conditions and the public was advised to avoid swimming and boating. "Persons in tsunami advisory areas should move out of the water...off the beach and out of harbors and marinas," the advisory said. A tsunami reportedly killed at least 14 people in American Samoa shortly after the quake
Lynn, I posted 4 photos from yesterday's luncheon on the Momsters Album...please feel free to add to it. It is a new album on the second page of the albums.
Was just getting ready to say the same thing, Deb! Wanda, my pics weren't very good....looked like my flash didn't go off on some....but posted pic of A-M and Sandra on FB.....will add to album tomorrow---already shut down PC for the day.
Hi, Everyone, Just sticking my head through the door to say howdy. Gosh, it was only about 80 here today, and it almost felt cold when our afternoon breeze kicked in! Fantastic! Sharon, that's cool that your good friend and Andrew's friend are going across the pond! What, indeed, are the odds?! OOH--how awful about that tsunami!!! Will have to try to call my friend Alice--she has a lot of family in Samoa, though not the American island. That was a HUGE earthquake! Prayers for that whole situation, and everyone affected by it! They say that SoCal should get a slightly higher tide--6 to 10 inches. Thank God the wave has to travel so far, and will slow down considerably in doing so! Sorry to hear that Happy has moved to a new home, but he should indeed be a happy camper there! Judie, I certainly hope your headache is better! Prayers for you! Lolly, hope the whole family is feeling MUCH, MUCH better by tomorrow! I'm sure they will be grateful for your comfort food! You be sure to take good care of yourself, now, too! Continued prayers for all. Thanks, too, for the link to Diego's exam video! Can't believe how BIG he's getting! And there oughta be a law against being so darn cute! Hey, Red! Glad you're feeling so well! Thank God! Continued prayers for your speedy recovery! Take care. Judie, I'm going to follow your advice and go watch TV for a while. My eyes won't focus right up close any more, anyway! Will be back later to say goodnight again. Yippee! NCIS tonight!
Andy, sure hope that your friends' family in Samoa is safe. Very worrying news. Death toll rising and many missing. Going to wrap it up for tonight. Prayers that all who are ailing get well soon, and that those who are absent are okay and rejoin us, and that those in peril are safe. Good night all.
Good TV evening entertainment... Wanda Your album on Momsters of AM visit is the very 1st one - Lynne it does make you angry when the flash doesn't know when to go off!
Haircut tomorrow... For sure cause they did the reminder call early this am hr and awakened me!
Been watching TV and sewing Jacob's hiking patches on his new jacket. Laurel called and Jacob is now running a fever and did not eat much supper. Joseph continues to run a low grade fever but he has not gotten worse, nor is he coughing. Laurel cried when I told her good night. She is so sick and has sick boys. Joey is having back spasms. She is worried about me getting sick. Life is not good for her right now and and when she feels so bad it is hard to tell her...it could be worse and this too, shall pass. So, Jack and I will continue to get ready to go on this trip and we may not go. It just depends on who is sick on Sunday. Woe is us. Life is never simple.
Tomorrow is the funeral for Larry McQuien, Jack's friend who was killed. There was a great write up about him in the Fort Worth paper this morning. I keep thinking of the 20 year old that hit him. It was a Saturday morning. Why did they swerve over and hit him?????
Good night and sweet eagle dreams, my friends of fine feathers and fur. Went to a meeting in Roanoke tonight. Going to bed now. Love most of you all! :)
And Saturday is my hair cut/color day in Lynchburg. Cannot wait. I have had my hair cut once since last October and not colored at all since then. It is in definite need!
Oh, dear Lolly, these truly are trying times for you and your family. I do hope you have gotten your flu shot...if not, GO! I'm praying that Laurel and the boys get well quickly and that you can still take your NM trip!
I'm taking a trip to bed. GOOD NIGHT SWEET DREAMS PRAYERS FOR ALL
Sharon, liked the length of your hair in the newest photo of yours. What do you mean, you love MOST OF US? Are you still mad at those who went to the beach? Remember...I didn't go to the beach:) Nite, girl...love you:)
Wanda, everyone has had there flu shots except for Laurel. Perhaps that is why she has it so bad. School gives them free and she was waiting for that. They should have done it earlier! Jack and I got ours over a week ago.
Okay, no one said anything about the Moon and Jupiter..they were cloud-dodging all night but that bright moon made for some awesome cloud views! James and I saw the pair and he loved it! I always love the pairings of any planets, or moon and planets ..... might still be visible in some viewing areas, like East Coast to the West ☺
Hi, Eagle Gang, Anyone still awake? It's after 10:30 here, and I can't decide whether I'm not tired yet, OR I'm so worn out I'm beyond being tired! Hmmm...Judie hasn't been back since before dinner--hope that means she's getting some good rest so the headache will disappear! Prayers for a good night's rest for her! Lolly, gosh, I feel just miserable for you! It's a terrible feeling when your family is sick. Prayers that Laurel and the boys will feel much better by tomorrow. No way Laurel should even consider going back to work, unless she feels absolutely 100%! She has really been through it, and needs to not push herself. Prayers for you and Jack, both so you don't get the flu, and because of Jack's friend's funeral tomorrow. ((Hugs)) for both of you! ...have thought about your question, and I wonder if the young person who hit Jack's friend was texting while driving? Just a possibility. Haven't seen Shirley here tonight. Hope all is well with her. Well, I feel really worn out--going to hit the hay. Prayers for all being said. Sweet eagle dreams! Talk to you in the morning. The night light is on, just in case Judy wanders to the fridge for a late night snack; the porch light comes on automatically, and the eye scanner has been enabled. Anyone comes in late, shhhhhh...please don't slam the door! Thanks! G'night, all.
I just flubbed on the perfect shot at Finland, the large white ferry, a raven in the air above the nest, and the Rainbow...was too excited about it and fumbled on the keys. Could have retired on that shot!
Looks like Finland nest has a new addition above the normal portion of the prior view....above the time and date line, with links to lots of things including pictures. Some in English, some in Finnish. I just noticed this after taking the pictures, maybe it has been there before...?
Got some good news at the Dr. yesterday. I'm clear of about everything they can tell by blood test. Received a regular flu shot...the Swine Flu shot will have to wait for another 3-4 weeks.
There's something else too, but my memory .....
Oh yeah, "Shingles". Did you know they have a vaccine now? I'm getting one probably this week.
Didn't know Shingles is caused by the virus from your case of Chicken Pox. So if you had that in your youth, you'd better ask about the Shingles vaccination.
I did know that Jim. And if you have shingles and come in contact with someone that has never had chicken pox, they will get them from your shingles. I had shingles on my face and behind my eye a few years ago. Man, that is some painful stuff!!!! Good job on the vaccines. I was just thinking we need to go get a flu shot soon. We have an appointment to establish care with a new doc but not till the end of October. Don't know if we should wait that long though.

Wake up everybody!
Good morning Megan! It is a whopping 48 here in Nature's Air Conditioned City!!!
Hello Sissy!
Just got Mattie out the door to the bus stop. She wore her big coat this morning. I don't think it is supposed to warm up much today.
Highs in the upper 60s here today. West winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. I hate wind....
Two eagles at BWO! Deer at PA pix, and of course Diego on the SD cam!
Good morning everybody. Mattie and I saw a lady at the band competition Saturday night that had a San Diego Zoo T-shirt on with a panda on it. I didn't get a chance to talk to her to see if she had gone or if somebody else went and just brought her back a T-shirt!
It is a balmy 54° in Bedford this morning.
good morning everyone...52°'s here, have a good one
GOOD MORNING...It is 58° here and no wind as of yet. I'm like Megan, I HATE WIND!
Sharon, when you were talking about the person with the SD T-Shirt...I thought you were going to tell us that you ripped it off of her! LOL
Helen, how is Annie doing? She is due in a few weeks now, isn't she?
Sissy, is you M-I-L doing better now?
yes, Wanda, 3 weeks from yesterday...saw her on Sunday at the walk, she looks great, but is ready to go:).
I have hummingbirds everywhere out here. They better head down the road before they freeze their little hummingbutts off!!!
Wanda, Mrs. Riffe is doing better, thanks for asking. She is just tired and I think is ready to go. Her quality of life is so far from what she has always had and she hates it.
Good Morning Everyone.
Get your Eagle fix at BWO!!
yes, thank God, for Blackwater Refuge cam, otherwise, we would forget what a real eagle looks like:)
Boy, ain't that the truth Mits! I miss Belle and Lib, bet they miss us too!!!
Ha ha -yeah, Sharon, you should've gotten that panda shirt!
Hello all :)
I still had two hummers here yesterday, they are still kinda small.
Sharon, I would have grabbed that Panda shirt or maybe tried to buy it!! Wonder if it had Diego on it.
I agree Wanda, I really do. But, the thought of it is so hard. She is certainly a wonderful woman who has lived a great, full, varied life for sure.
I am most anxious to see a photo of little Benjamin. His sisters are both dolls like their Mom and he will be handsome like his Daddy:)
Yeah Mits, see if Annie has a pic from a 3D ultrasound and we can know what he looks like now! :)
Loretta, are you and Frank coming to open house?
they had a 4D pic taken about a month ago, have not seen it, so guess I will just wait for Benjamin to arrive, just praying that everything is going to be ok. God willing:)
LOL, Sharon:)
We'll ALL pray with you, Helen.
it will be fun getting boy's things, have to get him some Redskins outfits.
Yes Wanda, I know the prayers are there, thanks.
WHAT?! Not Ravens?
Wanda, Yes, we are coming. I would love to go on Sun. train ride, but would be a lot of grumbling if we brought 2 cars! He always wants to get home---says it's because of the animals, but they're pretty self-sufficient.
Yikes, I don't know if I would want to be a redskins fan...lol....
oh no, Wanda....son has been a Redskins fan his whole life, and he converted his wife too:) She was a Buffalo Bills fan, her dad is from Buffalo
Morning, all!
Eagle at BWO!!
Where's our cam?????????
yes, Sissy hang in there....nice to see you Gwen:)
only "the shadow" knows where our cam is...has anyone heard any update about it???
Cam??
Nope...asked for one late last week, but no reply. Maybe someone else would like to try????
We have a cam?
ferry going by at Finland
Anybody going to the BW open house this Saturday?
What's a cam?
I was looking at that too, Megan, have never been to that open house before....
Morning! Nothing much "good" about it. Have not talked with Laurel but on facebook she said Joseph is now running a fever. Wow is me! I am needed up there more than ever now.
lol
What's a cam?
For me....what's an eagle?
Kid is headed to Hershey park on SAt., and I was trying to convince hubby he needed to go to BW..he ain't convinced so far.
I sent Steve an email so hopefully when he gets time, he will let us know something.
thanks, Sharon
Hi, Gang,
Oops--new thread! Thanks, Steve!
--and Megan!
Jumping in here with a quick good morning, and running out the door.
Headed for the EDD office to see where I stand with them!
Will be back in a while. Have a good day, and will talk to you soon as I'm back home! :o]
Good morning, a chilly 45 here. I sure hate to see summer behind us.
All kinds of sirens were going off about 45 min ago, now the helicopter came to town, can't be good.
fantastic close up of clouded leopard at NZ
also of the asian small clawed otters:)
wonder what that is all about, Deb?
black bird at BWO
Lolly, so sorry about the flu bug hitting your family. If you're planning a trip, don't think you should be in their house.

GOOD MORNING
TO YOU ALL

iT'S a cool 64° with heavy overcast here this morning, and the cool shall continue with a high of only 76° today; but the sun should break through the overcast by the P.M.

That wind will blow your hat off!! Looks like the Wizard of Oz out there!
My prayers are with everyone of you
Kristen is here to visit! BBL
It's a twister...
One meal in the oven. Jack is cooking sausage for another. Will put it in the oven shortly. Probably will get a mask. Depends on what the doctor says about Jacob on whether I bring him home or not. Lynn, one dish I am taking up there is the Pizza casserole.
Auntie Em sounds just like my nanny used to! :)
very good megan!~!!
Well, you better hope you don't see this woman...Miss Gulch
Funny Megan!
mmmmmmm! Beginning to smell good around here. Usually no cooking in the morning.
Guess I best go fix my face if I am heading out.
Oh, you are full of it today, Megan. Why are you not out working with your flowers?
And Miss Gulch reminds me of my sister! :)
Well, geez, ok, I will go back to work...gotta make bouquets anyway...can't get a break around here.
Hope things go okay at Laurel's Lolly, good luck.
Sharon, that remark will get you in trouble...
nice knowing you Sharon...lol
Yep, Sharon's in big trouble now!
I'm off!
Sorry, Megan, did not mean to chase you away!
Good thing Sharon moved to another town...haha- ok, shhh..lolly will see me, I'm gone- but you will miss my nonsense...
hoodie at Finland

Jim
Aw, gee, thanks Sis, I can feel the love!!!
Be careful the toes you step on today are not connected to the butt you may have to kiss tomorrow.
Hi, Everyone,
I'm BAaaack!
Wonder if she and Mallachie will ever meet up and recognize each other?
hmm, no worries there, Sissy, I don't kiss anyones' butt.:) jmho!
TV at BWO

There's another blog entry dealing with the Panda sisters meeting at the Howdy Gate yesterday.
Interesting, but they still don't say if there will be sound on the clips.
Probably they will get the sounds out to us some way, if not in the blog. They have other features on the site.

Jim
Yee-haw! Work day is done. Now to the shower! Ya'll holler if you hear anything about the cam! Cam? What cam? We have a cam?
Cheaper that way, they say........but certainly won.t be aesthetic!
Jim,
I think it was about 1951 or 52 when I got the measles.
I received a response back from Steve that said they are aware and working on it...it involves more than NCTC.
BBL
Andy, how soon will you know about your Unemployment??? Hope it is a favorable response with a check to follow quickly.
Hopefully some time this week, Lynn.
The EDD needs to hear from the Govt. about who to consider eligible, and how much $ to give them, and for how long. Congress voted in the extension, now we're waiting on the red tape.
Lynn, from your lips to God's ears! The sooner, the better.
Yup, small world, isn't it Sharon!
Thanks for the update on our cam!!
neat story Sharon
That is really cool, Sharon! Hope they both have fun on their trips----wish they could smuggle somebody in their luggage!!
Well, I have been laughing until I cried. Been on the phone with Charlie and bringing up an English to French translator online to teach him how to say beef, pasta and chicken in French. OMG, it has been a blast. He has no brains! :)
Me too, I would go either place.
Italy yes, France no.
Why no to France, Mits?
Hello everyone,
Well, I go off to do teach and all kinds of stuff happens.
Later
not sure, why, Lynn, just have never been on a list of places I want to visit, might have something to do with people I have met from there, and stories from people who have visited, not all negative, but enough to make me want to take my money elsewhere.
and that is jmho:)
I have been to England twice and Italy once....but still would travel in my own country first.
ROAD TRIP!!
Now what could Judie possibly mean...me out of control-never
And no, I will not blow away in the wind, Lynn...I am not that small...
Tsunami watch out for Hawaii from the earthquake in Somoa. Sure hope it stays a watch and misses the Islands. I have a cousin in Honolulu. He said if it hits it would be at 1:11 Hawaii time.
Oops, just got an update, downgraded from watch to advisory, that is good.
Back to work.
Yes, Megan you are anchored down!!!
Hope you get hubby to go to BW Open House!
Lazy afternoon after daughter went home
Time to eat dinner now

we are sad to see Happy go, but he should be happy to have 2 new companions:)
Tsunami has hit American Samoa.....deaths...pop. 60,000---one town washed away ; National Park visitors center washed away...
Mits, is Happy the only hippo we had??
yes, we do have a pygmy hippo, don't know where they will put him
Well, Happy will be happy to meet Patti and Puddles!
But, I know they have meals for the next three days.
lol....yes he will, Lolly:)

Can still see the bear on Snowman Cam
Nooo....not Happy the hippo, he was our favorite...
I loved Happy....
Oh, me too- been going to see him forever...
off to watch the NCIS shows, don;t know what I will watch at 10, probably go to Bravo and watch Flipped out
loved his wriggling ears:)
Jo, I watched "The Good Wife" last week and I think it will be one of my favs. NCIS and NCIS Los Angeles (or whatever) are good too!
Diego Exam Video
Cute video! You just want to pick him up and love him!
Full night at the TV!
Be Back in between commercials!
Thanks for all the prayers. I got home last night and had a good nights sleep. A bit sore today but it's getting better.
Glad things went well, Red.
Yea, Red! Glad you feel good enough to get on here. We were certainly thinking of you yesterday. What a way to celebrate your birthday!
Thanks for visiting us with your GOOD

Hey, Red, so glad to see you up and about!!! Don't overdo. Have you ever had major surgery before? Isn't it amazing how much easier things are now??
You take it slow and easy, ok??
Lolly, cute story about Jacob and the pants! Know that you are feeling kind of helpless at the moment. But knowing that they will be well-fed is heartwarming!
Glad you are feeling well enough to hop on and visit with us Red. Continued thoughts for a good recovery!

Isn't Samoa where they are filming SURVIVOR? Anyone know? Wonder if they had to stop filming?
Lynn, I posted 4 photos from yesterday's luncheon on the Momsters Album...please feel free to add to it. It is a new album on the second page of the albums.
I am home and reading your updates on the tsunami. That is so sad, no updates from my sister or my cousin, so I assume everything in HI is still okay.
Lolly, cute story. It will be nice for them to just pop something it to heat up for dinner.
It is, Wanda, but the actual filming is already over on Samoa and everyone should be home.
Was just getting ready to say the same thing, Deb!
Wanda, my pics weren't very good....looked like my flash didn't go off on some....but posted pic of A-M and Sandra on FB.....will add to album tomorrow---already shut down PC for the day.
Not sure which part of Samoa they were talking about, but news said that some part of it is only the size of DC.
Good Grief, guess I woke up from Panda nap to tell everyone Pleasant Dreams!
Hi, Everyone,
Just sticking my head through the door to say howdy.
Closing down for the day...
Good Night All
Prayers for so many this evening that are in need - please hear everyone's prayers of their wants/needs and thankfulness.
((((hugs to all)))) ♥
Put my vulture pic on blog.
Paula made me do it!!!!!
Night all....zzzzzzzzzzz
GOOD NIGHT
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Sharon, you have to get all prettied up for open house!
Nite all! Heading to bed.
Sweet dreams!
Sharon, liked the length of your hair in the newest photo of yours.
What do you mean, you love MOST OF US? Are you still mad at those who went to the beach? Remember...I didn't go to the beach:)
Nite, girl...love you:)
Wanda, everyone has had there flu shots except for Laurel. Perhaps that is why she has it so bad. School gives them free and she was waiting for that. They should have done it earlier! Jack and I got ours over a week ago.
Nite!
Hoo-ray for the Ewwiie...thanks Lowreeda!
LOL, Sharon...are you talking about us that went to the beach? :)
Night, all!
Hugs to all ♥
lol Yeah, you gotta wonder about that comment made by Sharon. Who on here is on the bad list.?
I am sitting laughing so hard I am crying!! I was wondering what questions would be asked! You know who you are! :) :) Love you all!
Love you too! :)
I never went to the beach. ☺
Well, not except for a loooooong time ago.
At least I stimulated your brains a little bit tonight. I cannot believe it is 12 o'clock and I am still up!
Well then go look for Jupiter and Moonie or else the clouds they are hiding behind!
Fox at Okie, and Finland looks really rough & rainy and foggy
Hi, Eagle Gang,
Anyone still awake?
Ravens are tearing up the nest at Finland, one, two and three at a time !
beautiful rainbow at Finland now, and no ravens.
Sorry I missed you Andy....
was outside looking for the moon
I just flubbed on the perfect shot at Finland, the large white ferry, a raven in the air above the nest, and the Rainbow...was too excited about it and fumbled on the keys.

Best I could do re: Finland is on Feathers, Fur and Miscellaneous link on my blog....but oh, the picture that got away from me!
Medevac just flew someone out from City Hospital, not the best flying weather but those choppers are good!
That's it for me...warming blanket has the bed ready for me, so I guess it's time.
Prayers for all, and God Bless Us, Every One

Looks like Finland nest has a new addition above the normal portion of the prior view....above the time and date line, with links to lots of things including pictures. Some in English, some in Finnish.
I just noticed this after taking the pictures, maybe it has been there before...?

New baby Panda exam on blog. (:~D)
Jim
Good morning! Thanks Jim, for the heads up about Diego's exam. He is so precious, making all kinds of sweet sounds! And those eyes!!!
Jim
I did know that Jim. And if you have shingles and come in contact with someone that has never had chicken pox, they will get them from your shingles. I had shingles on my face and behind my eye a few years ago. Man, that is some painful stuff!!!! Good job on the vaccines. I was just thinking we need to go get a flu shot soon. We have an appointment to establish care with a new doc but not till the end of October. Don't know if we should wait that long though.
* Beautiful rainbow at Finland, buck and does at Pix Pa.. *
rainbow poofed, just like that.
Good Morning Early Birds...
That's a good doctor's report Jim -glad to hear of it
