Thanks Megan and great to have a fresh thread Steve.
Road Trip was NOT a link. Sorry it was just an eye catcher.
Norma - Owls are inside taking their bird nap! I'll catch them this evening Stay cool with sil or you might not get any information whatsoever! Glad I don't have any like that.
I had a wonderful afternoon with the 2 great gs and daughter, Kristen. Made out on the shoes for Joe - price wise. Made out at the toy store also All sale priced Tonka medium size trucks. Boys convinced us that Sophia and Donavon also needed trucks (got 4) Then Burger King! they ate very well and we went out side to the play area. Now it is time for Feet Up!
JO!--I was just sounding off!!--DAV called me after lunch---They have taken care of the blood clot---Dr told her to relax--sleep---Next she said they are checking---in the heart area?------
Margie, sounds like you had fun with the youngsters but was hoping you would find some Skechers for Sharon. Bet she's disappointed. Also, when I saw ROAD TRIP I took off on a road trip to Okie but didn't see any of my blogger family. Thanks for the link - I really like it.
Lolly, sorry about the rain damage in Douglasville. Landscaping is a big loss. Just hope their home wasn't damaged.
Norma, you have a SIL and I used to have a MIL. Happy Davin seems to be getting good care.
Need to finish up some school reading. Think it will be take out-carry in pizza tonight. I do NOT feel like cooking.
09/21/09: Technical Note On Tuesday morning, the cam will experience an interruption in service from around 10am-12pm while we point our satellite dish toward a new satellite. We hope the work will be done by noon.
Norma, my SIL who went to the game yesterday made a video of the star appearing in the middle of the field at the new stadium. They did a really cool presentation. Wish you were on facebook to see it. I will search and see if I can find a way for you to see what they did.
Hello everyone! I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the wonderful cards and birthday wishes!
I'm working with a Peregrine falcon now, trying to train him/her to be an education bird. He will take mice from my hand, it's a start. I'll post pics and stuff on Facebook and/or my blog(s).
I posted a picture of what it looks like in Laramie, Wyoming on the last day of summer. My brother lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, not too far from Laramie.
Just took the picture a few minutes ago from a live cam.
The way I remember the time zone here in Arizona is that we're Mountain time part of the year and Pacific time the other part. They should just abolish DST altogether LOL.
"Spring ahead to the ocean, fall back to the mountains"
I had a delightful 'feet up' rest. I think I have gotten up to speed again. Have I told you all that I HATE STINK BUGS Those buggers dive bomb a person!
Evening Everyone in visually impaired Eagleland! Ledo Italian Restaurant news flash~~~~~as many know, my neighborhood Ledo's blew up real fine in spring.Today I had a Dr. appt. about 10 miles away w/another Ledo's across the street. I went there and chatted w/waitress who said that my local store owner also owns the one I went to this PM!!!!I told her if she sees him to tell him Lowreeda misses their shop!!!She said that they are planning to reopen in a closed Chinese restaurant in our shopping ctr. and are working on blueprints now!
Well, I am seeing the image of the nest with an eagle - is anyone else. I know we thought they took it down and this looks more like a picture and not real life.
That is what I am seeing now, Jo, but I was seeing the nest for some time after Mits said the camera had been shut down-for quite awhile after we saw the men there. I think I saw the nest this morning.
Colorado and Wyoming can keep their snow! Yuck. Lowreeda, know you'll be glad when Ledo's re-opens. We are getting one in Martinsburg soon---building permit has been issued! Ate at the one in Ranson (CharlesTown) and really liked their food! Delphia, good luck with the new falcon. I'm sofa-sitting----not feeling very good this afternoon/evening, so chilling. Don't forget, new season of HOUSE at 8 eastern time. 2 hr.!
the nest Finney nest stopped streaming at 1600 hours on Saturday, their time, today they put up the pic from last spring, when they still had snow on the ground
Hi gang---back and I got 2 more monarch pics that are also blurry. I need to train one to pose & not flap!!!!He/she finally left the butterfly bush and went up into neighbor's tress. Guess it was bedtime.Don't mind me~~~there isn't much to watch outside. I do havgfe one robin that visits the magnolias for seeds along w/catbirds & mockingbirds. He's the only one!I have a pic of one that had emerged at Park & he was very docile! But it's many years old. Shirley, maybe before you joined us, I relayed the story of a leaking gas smell at Ledo's in one of our closeby malls, & it and about 4 other stores blew up!Everyone evacuated before the big bang.
Thank goodness for House. With all y'all watching that I might have a shot a catching up.
Helen, I'm all for frost and snow as long as it isn't on me! Waaaay too early for snow.
Bird Girl - Delphia? It must be so cool to work with the falcons. Ironic, I can look at the most horrible crime scenes but cannot begin to imagine feeding mice to another animal. Yuk!
Loretta, let's give a cheer for the new and improved future Ledo's! Hip Hip Hurray!
Ah sheesh, if I only had an ice cream sandwich -- or a popsickle --or a large Hagen Daas.
Feel better, Lynn. Chillin with feet up is a good start.
Between school prep, my day trip, and pizza, I'm all tuckered out. Heading toward the call of the sandman. Turning my light out but leaving the night light on for others. G'nite everyone.
Geez, I need to get off my little behind or it is Big Butt and get my cable converter box hooked up. I can't believe I am such a procrastinator. Need to see some of these shows you folks are talking about.
Well, I WAS watching Dancing with the Stars, but we have lost the satellite signal. We are in the middle of a big storm. Lovely, just lovely.....more rain!
Big front coming in...supposed to be 20 degrees cooler tomorrow. Jack and I sat on the patio and watched the rain, but I did not like the wind so we came in. Storms do not scare me...this one was while sitting out there.
Change of the seasons...Nature is going to let us feel it it seems...
Last night of summer... Glad to see that Bird Girl stopped by....sounds like a real enriching project she has on her hands with the peregrine falcon...and I love her avatar! ☺
I give up on Lake Washington Eagle site...can't figure it out...date has changed to today, but cam is stuck again at 1417 hours...same thing seems to have happened yesterday. The burrowing owls are up and about.
I hope those in the flooding zones will get through things okay.
I am home and caught up. The wind went away, so it felt warmer now than at lunch break. It is still snowing in Denver according to my cousins on Facebook and the forecast is for snow through Wednesday. I'll keep checking to see if it is right.
Yep, Sharon...agree! Thought it dragged a bit, but still good. Keep the snow out west...ldon't want any here. Rain would be nice---we MIGHT get some tomorrow. Lolly, don't you hate it when the satellite gets knocked out? And I have to deal with that with internet as well as TV!
I knew earlier and totally forgot to mention that this is World Alzheimer's Day, and wearing purple would have been a way to commemorate it. Guess it is ironic that I forgot to mention, but apologize that I did and wish I hadn't. Has affected my family twice, and many other people that I know.
Hope those clouds bring us some rain, Megan. Good wishes and prayers for Norma's Davin. Feel better tomorrow Lynn! Margy, Dementia and Alzheimers is a tragic disease. I saw so much of it when my Dad was in the Nursing Home. It scared me! Those patients were walking around like zombies, looking for someone or something that they would never find! Hope everyone had a good day...it was beautiful.
Oh, I did watch DWTS tonight, wasn't very good...probably just my over-tired mind. Love House, but don't get time to tape and watch it this time of year. Will later on.
I'm wearing a purplish-shade of nail polish, Margy, so hope that counts! God bless Katherine. I'm done for this day.....hope everyone has a peaceful rest. Prayers and peace.
Found a groundhog at Pix PA that's about it. Had a wild idea to open up Hilton Head Osprey cam, and it froze everything up here :( Guess I better start getting to the day's to-do list.
Hope Everyone has a Good Day, working or playing... and Happy Birthday to Shirley's Kathryn xo TTFN ☺ ♥
A friend called & told me this story----She said--'she & friends had been praying so hard for their friend--BOB!-- GOD noticed all these prayer requests for BOB----sooooo GOD decided he better heal BOB & stop all these prayer requests---He had other things to get done!! ho!
the dolphin cam I watch, posted it on here several times, have people in the water swimming with dolphins, it is linked with the breathe-bonaire cams, where we see the divers
Ditto that from Norma to Mits, I had just opened it up from favorites...all legs and fins and flippers ☺
Norma did not hear whether the watch went off or not, Friday was overcast and hazy so I think probably not...I googled Matt Orsie, the naturalist birder...he does a lot of "digiscoping" photography and has some great pictures on a couple of sites, of birds, mostly in West Virginia..
Headed our for a chore with a friend, will be back a little later on, carrying my prayers along with me...
Thanks LOLLY!!!---I have changed my mind about you!---I AM GOING TO ADOPT YOU!! ho!---You are a great cheer leader!!----I watched the DALLAS game---WHAT A SHOW!!--Isn't that place AWESOME??---
I love snorkeling and bet I would love that too. I bob like a cork in salt water. lol Makes Jack so mad as he sinks. Makes me mad that I can not dive down.
Morning all! Norma, big-time prayers for Davin and you and rest of family. Is open-heart for a bad valve or are they planning a bypass? How old is Davin? Hope you feel my (((hugs))).
Looks like the day of the chipmonk around here. Has a newer hole about one foot from the tree-lined river bank edge. Keeps running to front of bldg. to load up on sunflower seeds, then back to hole which I can see from a window!I just advised grass cutters to avoid the home They know about it!
Good Tuesday "Hope I win the Mega Lottery" To All. Norma - My prayers are added to many others for Davin and to all her family - especially mom. Love the story about Bob. Got my Eagle fix at BWO... Thank goodness we have those sightings. In one week we may be having lunch/dinner with Anne Marie! These friendships are so rewarding!
MORNIN' HEDGIE!!---How are you feeling this am?---Read you were feeling lously!---Hope you are feeling perky this morning!!---
When it comes to medical terms---I AM NOT VERY SWIFT!--SIL says Dr said her heart may have caused the clot in her arm---heart cauterization this am & heart surgery sch. 12:00--dau LISA talk w/DAV last nite--surgery would be open heart---(their dad had that)!!
Loving Father, I entrust myself to your care this day; guide with wisdom and skill the minds and hands of the medical people who minister in your Name, and grant that every cause of illness be removed, I may be restored to soundness of health and learn to live in more perfect harmony with you and with those around me. Through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Loretta....those stupid bugs don't pay any attention to state lines!!! They are a real nuisance here...this is the third year, I think. Norma, feeling better today....think maybe skipping lunch yesterday contributed to my feeling puny, along with some sinus congestion. Please keep us posted as you get word from FL about Davins' surgery.
WOW! WOW!----DIEGO is being introduced to BAMBOO!---He is such a 'HANDSOME' young PANDA!!----Don't let SISSY see this pic!!--She will start hitch-hiking to SD!!!!
Nope, Norma, not that bad! Can't stand soft drinks (had a very serious addiction to RC Cola in college---don't drink any now and haven't in 39 yrs.), and don't care much for chicken soup!
Having a wonderful lecture here in mtg. room by a naturalist's naturalist. He works for FED. Pax Research Ctr. in Laurel, MD. Expert in many fields--birds,native bees, plants, environment, etc. and has rebuilt a 1920's house w/natural materials & has out buildings made of straw bales and clay! One door is open a crack, so I can listen when not busy. He set out some cups w/liquid to try and catch some bees---field trip later! I wanna go!!!!!
Mits, that's a lovely poem. don't think I've ever seen it before. So appropriate. As beautiful as fall is, I think it is a very sad time....especially after the apple trees have all been picked bare, and the leaves start to fall.........did I ever tell that I used to pick apples? First couple of years that we were married, we picked every evening until dark on the Musselman orchard that my FIL managed (and where my ex grew up)....this city girl was a very good picker!!! 22 bushels to a box, and we made $11/box....I could pick 2 boxes in about 2 -3 hrs.!
I am home, I am beautiful! Yeah, right! But it does always feel good to have a hair cut.
Thinking of Davin. Surgery should still be going on.
Mits, that was a moving prayer and I loved your poem as well. I do not think of Fall as a sad time. It is a refreshing time!! Made through another hot, dry summer!!
Trying to decide what to do for the rest of the day. We do have branches down. Told Jack if he got the wheelbarrow,I would help with the clean up. Guess I will then do a little more closet cleaning.
Good Morning/Afternoon, Everyone, Slept in this morning, and am getting a late start here.
Prayers for Davin!!! Norma, what happened? Did a blood clot travel, or what? Praying for both her, and for you and the rest of the family!
Oh--before I forget, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SHIRLEY'S DAUGHTER KATHERINE! Hope it's the best ever!
And LYNN, guess what?! 'Gray's Anatomy' arrived late yesterday!!! (For some reason, our mailman always delivers late on Mondays, so the book got here around dinnertime.) THANK YOU once again--I've had my nose in that book ever since it got here! I'm kinda like a kid in a candy store!! Fascinating reading!
Was out in the yard all morning making sure all our plants got a good soaking. Supposed to be 98 and dry as a bone here today; Santa Ana winds predicted some time this week.
Oh, no, Mr. Bill..............just found out that BIL is coming back tonight instead of tomorrow! Gotta go change bed again...just did bathroom and put out fresh towels! Raining here now.....hope it continues!
Yeah, Jo! All participants have name tags! I went outside w/group out front. Had printed the Notes on the Alien stinkbug & showed it to our guest, Sam Droege. He said after a while, it will be all over! When these type insects come f5rom S. China, they seek out areas similar to home (weather, etc.) and similar host plants. They do no inside damage, just want to get in for warmth & do not breed indoors.
Oh boy, truck parked at next apartment complex says "Termite and Pest Control." Hope whatever it is does not migrate over here! I have only had problems with earwigs...yuck! look too much like roaches for me
I have been lucky, except for the resident squirrel awhile back....(inside ceiling space...)
Sounds great, Loretta...when I grow up I want to work at PRP ! For Free ! ☺
we have had high or moderate rip currents for the past 2 weeks here....yesterday looked fairly calm with moderate range, but unfortunately last night around 6:30 p.m. a man lost his life trying to save son from the rip....the warning always is to keep your feet in the sand till the lifeguards are on their stands....guards go off duty at 5:30p.m.,
Just lurking in and around. Wondering if Lynn's rain will make it over the mountain. Kristen (daughter) was here this morning and had lunch with us. I am getting tired...... Feet Up!
Interesting info, Loretta. Recent PBS series about Appalachia said that many species of plants and insects found in Appalachia are only found elsewhere in China!
It's going to be a tough life for teenager and the rest of the family. In my opinion, there are very very few drownings that should ever occur, unless it would be from a medical problem instead of something thoughtless or careless...
I'm pretending to be like the rest of you with sound....I have burrowing owls site open and it has sound...wind, and a few bug sounds. Oh, and a train or fog horn. I'll settle for whatever I can hear these days. ☺
I think 99.9% of drownings that occur here are before or after the guards are not on duty....we have great lifeguards here, very proud of their patience with visitors.
Ineresting article in our local rag yesterday about Lyme's disease, high incident in some Eastern Panhandle counties in the last two years....good advice on avoiding an exposure....huh - might as well just not go outside at all, unfortunately, then there is the part about having someone else help you check for ticks before going into your home :(
Lynn, Hope you're feeling much better today! Know what you mean about soft drinks. Used to be a Colaholic in my younger days. Now drink water or iced tea instead.
Have been hearing a Goshawk in the tree out front. Think I'll poke my head out the front door and see what's going on. Haven't actually heard them much lately, just seen them. Will take my camera, just in case. BBIALW....

Good afternoon! Just sitting here unwinding.
Prayers for Davin.
Checked the panda cam and watched the videos of the exams for the first time. Such a cute little thing!
Got really sleepy this afternoon.
Really want to go home, so I think I'll just do that.
See you later.
Happy homecoming, Shirley. Have a Lolly G&T and a panda nap.
Norma, you can sound off here anytime. What better group to sound off to!!!! I think we have all needed to do that at some time or other.
Ran errands and now time to sit. Just had my afternoon snack of blueberries and vanilla yougurt. Yummy!
Think I will go check on Diego.,
Update from BWO.....

Brrr, not used to this temp yet, so today feels cool. I will have to see just what the temp is, probably not as cool as it feels.
It is 63 here, I think because it is so damp it feels cooler. Black Hills and Denver area both got snow, thank goodness it isn't that cold here.
yikes....snow, glad you did not get that Deb.
Norma, my SIL who went to the game yesterday made a video of the star appearing in the middle of the field at the new stadium. They did a really cool presentation. Wish you were on facebook to see it. I will search and see if I can find a way for you to see what they did.
The only good thing about snow this early, it is probably gone by now, but way too early!
I agree....lets just have frost on the pumpkins first:)
Time to go back already. BBL

Just took the picture a few minutes ago from a live cam.

I went to college at CSU, and spent many childhood summers in Laporte.
:)
I had a delightful 'feet up' rest.
I think I have gotten up to speed again.
Have I told you all that
I HATE STINK BUGS
Those buggers dive bomb a person!
My brother has lived there for many years. He does scientific research for the Department of Agriculture.
I think he has some connection with CSU, but he does not teach.
That is one cold pic, Shirley
I'm not ready for the SNOW word yet.
Deb you have your lawn care guy now - so does he also do snow?
Delphia it is good to see you come in on your Birthday. Hoping you enjoy your day.
Cute little birdie, BG.
Ironic that it is the last day of summer!
Had a real colorful pic of monarch on butterfly bush, but a little blurry. Have one outside now----have camera, will travel ☺
Hi Lowreeda ! I bet you are happy camper now! I remember when that all happened and we were worried about you.
The restaurant blew up?
Norma, Hope your Davin is getting better-----thoughts and prayers.
Mits~~~yes, I read where you saw people at Finney nest.Wonder why it's showing a view if they turned it off???!!!DUH
I was wondering the same thing Loretta. I have been seeing a nest.
Okay, now I am not seeing the nest.
Well, I am seeing the image of the nest with an eagle - is anyone else.
I know we thought they took it down and
this looks more like a picture and not
real life.
Just a pic because there is snow on the ground........ Whatever..
That is what I am seeing now, Jo, but I was seeing the nest for some time after Mits said the camera had been shut down-for quite awhile after we saw the men there. I think I saw the nest this morning.
Well . . . I think it is just a picture, but you never know about the snow! Might be snow there.
I need to look for something more to eat than what I just ate - does that make sense to you - I am still hungry!
BBILW
Makes sense to me, Jo, I just had an ice cream sandwich.
Colorado and Wyoming can keep their snow! Yuck.
Lowreeda, know you'll be glad when Ledo's re-opens. We are getting one in Martinsburg soon---building permit has been issued! Ate at the one in Ranson (CharlesTown) and really liked their food!

Don't forget, new season of HOUSE at 8 eastern time. 2 hr.!
Lynn I sure hope you feel much better soon. Put your feet up!
Sounds good Shirley- love them.
I am off to the TV for a while
BBL
the nest Finney nest stopped streaming at 1600 hours on Saturday, their time, today they put up the pic from last spring, when they still had snow on the ground
off to watch House.
Finland nest has been down since the storm on 8-26-09
NCTC nest has been down since 9-15-09
Well, do not discuss House, cause I can't watch it, I'm recording it-cause we have to watch dumb ole football here...
Sop what is everyone watching tonight...House or Dancing w the Stars?
Hi gang---back and I got 2 more monarch pics that are also blurry. I need to train one to pose & not flap!!!!He/she finally left the butterfly bush and went up into neighbor's tress. I'm still hungry too! Only had 1 bruschetta and bowl of salad.
Gotta find House too----love him--he's so irreverent!
I'm still hungry too! Need some ice cream...
Dancing with the Stars
I think I remember the news coverage about that.
I try to keep some of those skinny cow ice creams--various kinds.
Thank goodness for House. With all y'all watching that I might have a shot a catching up.
Helen, I'm all for frost and snow as long as it isn't on me! Waaaay too early for snow.

Andrea, are you in school tonight?
Okay, off to watch NOT House but Interventions.
Cheers,
Judie
I'll just say House is good!
Yeah, it always is.....
Between school prep, my day trip, and pizza, I'm all tuckered out. Heading toward the call of the sandman. Turning my light out but leaving the night light on for others. G'nite everyone.
Judie
Prairie Dog Brother John is in Colorado this week, bet he was not expecting snow; he is in Walden, have to Google to see how close that is to Denver.
I don't like the picture at all at Finney's - last year's was much much better.
Hope Everyone is doing okay in Eagle Land, with special thoughts of Norma's Davin and our Hedgie.
xo
Good night, Judie. I am really tired, too.
G'night Judie...
thanks for leaving the light on.
Darn.... I would trade you my tv for rain....
Big front coming in...supposed to be 20 degrees cooler tomorrow. Jack and I sat on the patio and watched the rain, but I did not like the wind so we came in. Storms do not scare me...this one was while sitting out there.
Can not believe we are getting so much rain. Quite unbelievable.
Walden, maybe 200 miles NorthWest from Denver and very close to the Wyoming Border.
Maybe they got snow.
Seems like it is too much, or not enough rain between here and Texas.
Did anyone see the Baby Moon tonight? I just barely did but the clouds scooted in front of it.
Sister in law got over 17 inches of rain this past weekend. The low we had here made it to Georgia. Now we have a front coming in.
Change of the seasons...Nature is going to let us feel it it seems...
Last night of summer...
Glad to see that Bird Girl stopped by....sounds like a real enriching project she has on her hands with the peregrine falcon...and I love her avatar!
☺
Was too cludy here, no stars or baby moon...
I am watching a really good House season premiere!
I give up on Lake Washington Eagle site...can't figure it out...date has changed to today, but cam is stuck again at 1417 hours...same thing seems to have happened yesterday. The burrowing owls are up and about.
I hope those in the flooding zones will get through things okay.
Back in a little while before bedtime.
TTFN xo
I am home and caught up. The wind went away, so it felt warmer now than at lunch break. It is still snowing in Denver according to my cousins on Facebook and the forecast is for snow through Wednesday. I'll keep checking to see if it is right.
Finished my Mystery Theater - didn't watch House like all others.. I guess I should give it a try.
So much flooding - I know how I feel if my washer overflows - I can imagine how devastating it must be for half your house to be under water.
BBILW
Wow, that was an emotional House! Love that man!
Jo, I haven't ever been able to get into House. I dvr'd Dancing and will watch it in a while.
Good night everyone. Will see you tomorrow.
Twins win, 7-0 over White Sox. Detroit has the night off.
I knew earlier and totally forgot to mention that this is World Alzheimer's Day, and wearing purple would have been a way to commemorate it.
Guess it is ironic that I forgot to mention, but apologize that I did and wish I hadn't. Has affected my family twice, and many other people that I know.
Good Night and God Bless Us, Every One.
Night everyone!
I'm calling it a good day.......
Seems everyone is doing the same......
Good Night All
Peace to All
Prayers for All
((hugs to all)) ♥
Add another two inches of rain and possibly more. Took out Dancing but I got to watch Castle. Now that show I really like. I like House as well.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE

Found a groundhog at Pix PA that's about it. Had a wild idea to open up Hilton Head Osprey cam, and it froze everything up here :(
Guess I better start getting to the day's to-do list.

Oh, yes, we were glued to the TV. Yes, the stadium is awesome. We have watched it go up, but have not been inside. SIL, Joey, says it is unbelievable.
Legs went....poof!
They should give the swimmers a video of our view of their swim. lol
Time to go eat a bite of breakfast.
Have a great day everyone, prayers for Davin and Norma!!!

Prayer for Davin.....
Amen.
haven't gotten that far in my thinking---3 older kids--17-15-12 & 2 younger ones--4--&--2!
Loretta....those stupid bugs don't pay any attention to state lines!!! They are a real nuisance here...this is the third year, I think.
Norma, feeling better today....think maybe skipping lunch yesterday contributed to my feeling puny, along with some sinus congestion.
Please keep us posted as you get word from FL about Davins' surgery.
thank you---MITS!
WOW! WOW!----DIEGO is being introduced to BAMBOO!---He is such a 'HANDSOME' young PANDA!!----Don't let SISSY see this pic!!--She will start hitch-hiking to SD!!!!
HEDGIE---Are you hitting the 'chicken soup' & sprite!--always worked for my kids! thinking of you---
BWO - must be working on it now...stuck on a nice eagle pic :)
Nope, Norma, not that bad! Can't stand soft drinks (had a very serious addiction to RC Cola in college---don't drink any now and haven't in 39 yrs.), and don't care much for chicken soup!
OH HEDGIE!---You are so COOL!!--ho!
I never drink soft drinks either!-----but do like chicken soup!!---
ARGH---only 5 hours left of summer. Boo...hiss....
Off to work, prayers for the surgeons and nurses and, of course, for Davin, Norma and family.
good-bye summer, sniff-sniff:(
September
by Helen Hunt Jackson
The goldenrod is yellow;
The corn is turning brown;
The trees in apple orchards
With fruit are bending down.
The gentian's bluest fringes
Are curling in the sun;
In dusky pods the milkweed
Its hidden silk has spun.
The sedges flaunt their harvest
In every meadow-nook;
And asters by the brookside
Make asters in the brook.
From dewy lanes at morning
The grapes' sweet odors rise;
At noon the roads all flutter
With yellow butterflies.
By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer's best of weather,
And autumn's best of cheer.
Loretta - Take your name tag off & go as One of the Crowd!
Prayers for Davin...
Helen the prayer you published is just beautiful. Going to save it to say whenever needed. Thanks.
You were one fast apple picker, Lynn! lol
Good Morning/Afternoon, Everyone,
Slept in this morning, and am getting a late start here.
Prayers for Davin!!! Norma, what happened? Did a blood clot travel, or what? Praying for both her, and for you and the rest of the family!
Oh--before I forget,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SHIRLEY'S DAUGHTER KATHERINE!
They do no inside damage, just want to get in for warmth & do not breed indoors.
no, neither they author of prayer or poem, just went searching online for something appropriate
Wondering if Lynn's rain will make it
over the mountain.
Kristen (daughter) was here this morning and had lunch with us.
I am getting tired...... Feet Up!
BBL
Sometimes there is nothing more discouraging than a preventable accident
Sorry to hear of that incident, Helen....did the son make it out okay?
BWo still down...
So sorry to hear that Mits...too many this year
yes, teen-aged son survived....
Ineresting article in our local rag yesterday about Lyme's disease, high incident in some Eastern Panhandle counties in the last two years....good advice on avoiding an exposure....huh - might as well just not go outside at all, unfortunately, then there is the part about having someone else help you check for ticks before going into your home :(
Lynn,
Hope you're feeling much better today! Know what you mean about soft drinks. Used to be a Colaholic in my younger days. Now drink water or iced tea instead.
I bet they are good, Helen, hard to imagine watching all those bodies in the sun and glare and surf...a special type of person for that job.
checking out for a little while, got some things to take care of around here....nice and quiet....
can't stop thinking about Norma and family....
TTFN xo
I had read this type of surgery can last 5 hours...prayers for Davin
off to sundeck for awhile...bbl
split coming up soon
I just tried to post a Comment and BC said "conflicting edits!!" DUH
Have been hearing a Goshawk in the tree out front. Think I'll poke my head out the front door and see what's going on. Haven't actually heard them much lately, just seen them. Will take my camera, just in case. BBIALW....
