Good morning, foggy here, too.

Ms Bookworm said...

Every day for weeks now, we've awakened to bright sun, no clouds. Now this! I like this better, so far.

deb said...

There are two eagles at BWO.

A nice sunny day would be a treat, seems like forever since we had one.

we are having bright sunny breezy weather here today, hate to leave, looks like I will be running into rain on way home....dew point and humidity have finally dropped below 70%,,,,both in the 40%'s now....

Ms Bookworm said...

Ah, yes, there's much to be thankful for today! First of all, it's Saturday! Let's hear it for the weekend--YAAAAAAYYYYY! BTW, Thanks for the reminder, Judie. It was for Margy, but you helped me out too.
It's SO fantastic that Norma's Davin is home! Thank God she's doing so well!
And all of us in my Anatomy class actually made it through that AWFUL exam last night! (Teacher told me I did OK, but some were so awful he's gonna grade on the curve!) Gee, I can hardly wait to see what happens with the Mid-term Exam next Friday!
(Not!!!) Should be horrific!
There are 2 eagles at BWO right now!

Ms Bookworm said...

Diego is by himself, doing his morning calisthenics--CUTE!!!!!!!!

Ms Bookworm said...

Deb, I'd consider trading weather with you, but I like this SO much, I think I'll be selfish and keep it!

hedgie said...

Good morning, M's & D's!
Starting to rain here now. Cool and breezy. Got the deck blown off again before it started!
Getting ready to head out to vote on school bond issue, and then lunch w/ eldest and youngest gd. Then they are going tohelp me get groceries. They have no idea how much it helps me not to have to lift and carry all that stuff!
Andy, can sure understand how much a foggy morning can mean after all that sun and heat.
Hope everyone has a good day. Talk to you later.

Ms Bookworm said...

...Have been trying to catch up on the blog from yesterday; this may take a while!
It was good to see T-Bird here again! Hey, T-Bird!!!
Jo & Lynn, I LOVE having breakfast for dinner, and I LOVE dippy eggs!!
Megan, I'm with you regarding that idiot Chris Packham. Hey, brainstorm! Let's box up all our stink bugs, centipedes and thousand-leggers, and mail them to HIM!

magpie said...

Andy - Nice pic.....I got lost in the fog of balancing my checkbook, found two things I had not subtracted :(
but not so bad...so far, still working on it, have been reticent about taking care of this...

Love the Fog Pic..

Yep- good soaking rain here..

Good Morning Andy, Deb, Hedgie, and Mits who is traveling now...

and any and all others watching...

that was a seamless split...

Thanks again Mits...

Good Saturday Morning to All! Sure looks as though the rain could start here in the valley at any time. But as I said I wanted to go into our small town to see the crafts displayed for the Heritage Days. Might not happen now

Andrea - how about that fog! Hope it doesn't burn off too soon!
Shirley - guess it felt pretty good being a student for a change and not having to go the the head of the class

Have a safe trip home Mits and enjoy your party tonight - hope the food is exceptionally good!

Mema Jo said...

Hi Margy - I thought you were still knee deep in your finances..... I really love my account on line with the exception that I can spend money faster then they can record it... lol

Mema Jo said...

I have not seen the BWO eagles yet today. The Finney Water nest cam is so clear! I am wondering if the golden eagles will return?

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, Hubby is home from weekly Wal-Mart shopping--gotta go help put stuff away. Haven't had breakfast yet, either. May be a while till I'm back. Think we might go see a movie today....Have a fantastic Saturday, everyone! BBL. :o]

magpie said...

Go see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for me, Andy....I had to miss it Friday....

Hi Jo - just about finished, have two things to subtract, one to add, and two checks which have never been cashed, both for memorial donations.....what's up with that ?????

magpie said...

Okay - net result, I gained $3.10 once all the calculations are over...
Whew! Remind me not to let it go so long next time! Had to go back to June to reconcile everything.
For a relatively "OCD" person (obsessive compulsive disorder) one would think I would be checking every hour!

Now, to pay some bills...

:(

magpie said...

Might take awhile to see some birds at Finland, but didn't take any time to see some boats! Including one tee-tiny on there now - or maybe it is a white duck....

magpie said...

I need a new flag for my little outdoor metal stand-up hanger...hope I can make it to the flag store on time....

Love that we are getting rain, disappointed though for all the outdoor things, fairs, car shows, Judie's husband's event, Watermelon Park, picnics, but, GLAD FOR MEGAN !

TTFN - gotta shake a leg and get out in the rain.

xo ☺ ♥

magpie said...

The poop shoots on the metal part of the Finland nest stand, looks like Silly String !

deb said...

Bird at Finland nest, can't remember its name!

magpie said...

Hey Jo
I used my favorite Eagle Pen to do my calculations and make check marks...that's what made it tolerable... ☺

Oh, I did say TTFN didn't I....

You win the contest Deb !! It's a Hooded Crow, aka Hoody !

magpie said...

....Was....
but you have a witness...
What is the Prize? I guess since it was my idea I ought to send you something.... ☺

deb said...

Gone from Finland.

magpie said...

And I think it was you, Deb, that was able to point out the differences in males and females of that species, I saved that email for future reference.

deb said...

No prize needed, especially since I forgot the name. I knew it was some kind of crow. :(

magpie said...

Way back in the old days I was making captures of that nest and had no way to send them to anyone to find out what it was.

Man I need to scram !

xo Best Wishes for a good day, all..
God Bless Us, Every One

deb said...

It might have been Suzanne that did that.

magpie said...

Well, maybe.....I do have a little bit of CRS....

Sure is nice to see you, Deb - I might send you something anyway!

Naturalist friend in New York saw a grey-cheeked thrush and some black-throated blue warblers this week ☺

Hello all:)
off to make bouquets for tomorrow's mkt., may be my last with cut flowers.

Hello, I am on lunch break for the class, so I have a few minutes to write a note or two. I am sure this class is much more relaxed than the ones Andrea is doing. My poor brain couldn't handle all of those tests.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Gang,
Just checking in to say hi. Have been online looking for places to send resumes. Have been trying to contact the EDD to find out if I'm eligible for another UI extension, but keep getting a recorded message saying they're not answering phone calls. Stub on my last UI check said to call them immediately! Yeah, right. If I'm eligible, they're supposed to send me more paperwork, but it's been 11 days of nothing yet.
If I DO reapply online (my only other option), it supposedly slows down the whole process, per their super long phone recording! Not sure WHAT to do now! Guess I can try to find out which one of their offices is available for walk-ins, and go there on Monday.

Ms Bookworm said...

I HATE government offices!!! All I need to know is whether I should reapply online, or whether I have to wait for more paperwork mailed to me from them. If I knew which option it was, I could sleep better at night.
If I'm NOT eligible for more UI, then I really need to find a part-time job with a halfway decent salary, so we can pay bills! It usually takes a couple weeks to get a first paycheck....meanwhile, Hubby is in a ROTTEN mood over this situation--and not too much I can do about it until Monday.

Ms Bookworm said...

Ahh...maybe I can relax a little bit. Hubby is going to ride out to the Riverside Allen's Tuxedo Shop location with my SIL. That should take a while, and he'll probably be in a better mood when he gets back. Now to try to get more Anatomy homework done online! It's nice and quiet here now.

Ms Bookworm said...

Just peeked outside, and the sun's burned through, but the temp is still comparatively decent--only 90 at nearly noon. More than 10 degrees lower than yesterday!

stronghunter said...

Back home. Class is over. Did end up making a short presentation.

stronghunter said...

Cool and drizzling here.

GOOD SATURDAY
TO YOU ALL

**********

Sorry about being late. I was on here earlier, got distracted and never signed in. Senior moment stuff??? Hahahaha.

It was foggy here too earlier, but not nearly as dense as at bookworm's place. That reminded me of when we lived right on the coast and often became so thick you literally couldn't see your hand ... usually between dusk and early morning.

Hi, Jim.

movin said...

Hi, Strong Hunter. How are you doing today?

I am wondering about the blog name... do you actually hunt in your area?? Bow or rifle??

C(°Ù¿°)D

Jim

stronghunter said...

Doesn't have anything to do with what I do myself. I am sure my ancestors were hunters. It is a combination of my mother's maiden name and mine.

movin said...

Look at that baby Panda, aka Diego. All by himself like a big boy.

I wonder if you could tell if his eyes are opening with the camera that close.

movin said...

Yup, Hunter, pretty much everybody's ancestors were hunters, or we would all be spending most of our day feeding on big, green leaves and trying to digest them. [:~D]

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Jim and Shirley,
Just got back in from feeding the birds & watering patio plants. Phew!
It's only (did I say ONLY?!) about 90 outside, but the humidity must be about that, too. Good thing it's not 100 with 90% humidity!
Shirley, your class sounds interesting. You were saying on the other thread that you thought it was important for kids today to have some self confidence--I TOTALLY agree! Without believing they can do something, there's almost no point in even trying! But if they think they can, they CAN and DO!
Kinda like me--I refuse to believe I CAN'T! Therefore, I DO.

Ms Bookworm said...

Jim, were you ever able to get yourself on a decent day/night schedule sleep-wise?

stronghunter said...

Andrea, you have an amazing amount of confidence, and it has really paid off.

stronghunter said...

I just made a 4:30 haircut appointment. Must rush away.

movin said...

By 'ever' I assume you mean recently, Bookworm.

I have temporarily been able, but so far something happens to disrupt the program.

Still trying.

Ms Bookworm said...

Shirley,
I got so sick of just sitting around the house, I decided to reinvent myself, so I could (hopefully) get a decent job and get on with it. It was daunting thinking about going back to college, but decided that unless my brain got really challenged, it was going to just fade away. School was tough at first (kinda jumped in with both feet!), but now can really tell a big difference. It's true, "use it, or lose it"! Still must remind myself that "With God, ALL things are possible", though. Couldn't do it without lots of help from above!

movin said...

Ms Bookworm said...

Yeah, Jim, I did mean your recent time warp. Believe me, been there, done that--more than several times!
Hang in there, and take an occasional early-in-the-day panda nap if possible!

magpie said...

Hi Shirley (now gone for haircut) Andy, and Jim.

Hey Jim - you did see that Finland Water is back up ?? Mits posted it earlier.

Rainy and cool here...going into forest fire season around here, so it's a good thing to get some soaking rain.

Not for picnickers or fair-goers or car show or outside weddings, though.

Ms Bookworm said...

I agree, Jim! I was watching Diego earlier this morning, and he was really getting some good exercise in his sleep!

magpie said...

Of course things are seven hours ahead of us now in Finland so you will see darkness only -
It's a great site for night-owls though: Hint Hint, Andy, Jim...

Got to go do an errand for someone, back in a little while,
I definitely think this is Panda Nap weather....

xo TTFN

movin said...

Hi, Magpie. Yes, I did check that link out this A.M. Looks like they cleaned the lens too. Everything looks just beautiful.

I think that might be how I originally got distracted from this site, now that I think about it.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Margy!
Yes, I was checking out the Finland Water view earlier--sure is pretty!
Sorry the rain is dampening all the outdoor activities back there this afternoon. If it were possible, I'd gladly trade with you!

Ms Bookworm said...

Margy,
Know what you mean about drizzling rain being panda nap weather! Time for hibernation mode for you, girl!

Ms Bookworm said...

Well, I'd better return to my homework. There's still lots of it!
BBL.... :o]

movin said...

It's supposed to get up to 91° here today, but maybe it won't make it.

Right now, at 1:44, it's only 78 with fairly good humidity.

I still don't have too much trouble in the heat ... if I take the fluids ... but I really never like really hot days. Probably because of the mild temps at Del Mar where I was raised. I always prefer that kind of weather.

Hi all,

Quick check in to say the festival stopped early du to rain. I left even earlier because I got impatient with people wanting to buy rickets fr childrens rides but can't or won't speak English and use their very young children as interpreters. Grrrrrrr!!! Besides, it was cold and windy and I needed to start putting exam questions together.

Andrea, I am sorry you are having so much frustration. Hopefully, you can resolve the probelm on Monday. I'll send an UI prayer for continuation.

Hi Jim, Shirley, Margie, Deb, Mits, and Jo please enjoy Catonsville.

Next on my list is Chinese take-out then want to catch up on the coverage of the murders by the Goth boy.

Later,
Judie

magpie said...

Either the cam is stuck, or the Eagle really likes the view from that stance...hasn't changed in about ten mins.

Hi Deb...work day over? or this lunchtime ?

magpie said...

Sorry the rain and people dampened the joy at the outdoor festivity, Judie...take out Chinese...hope you have some Happy Family - one of my favorites.

Hope the mood and conditions shift out there in California, Andy.

and Andy, wait til you see the birds at that Finney nest over the winter and all the boats...very entertaining..

magpie said...

Okay, Eagle is moving a little...
wonder what he/or she is watching....

deb said...

Lunch time, I see that eagle isn't moving. Oops, just moved its head!

deb said...

The eagle poofed at BWO.

deb said...

Eagle back at BWO, maybe with dinner, maybe not. left something in the back of the nest.

deb said...

Back to work, why does lunch go so fast and the day so slow.

hedgie said...

Hi, gang. What a miserable day--but we need the rain. Just feel so bad for those with outdoor activities---one of which here that I want to go to tomorrow---if the rain stops! They say ending after sunrise, but 1-2" expected.
Grocery shopping finished and everything stowed away. Now what to fix for dinner?! LOL!
Sad story on the Mt. Airy murders--father shot family and dog as they slept...7 y.o. girl, 14 y.o. boy, wife/mother and then himself. Well-liked people, very religious. House had been for sale for over a year. Sure makes you wonder what in the world the problems were. Terrible.

hedgie said...

BWO eagle sure must be comfy sitting there on the edge of the nest for so long---all I see is rear end!

hedgie said...

Judie, you have mail.

Had a lovely greeting this AM when I let the dog out---Myrtle Turtle was here. Hadn't seen her in a while. Came up and got an old 'mater out of fridge and took out to her....she couldn't get a good enough hold on it to get a bite, so I smashed it against a pallet, and she has been chowing down on it off and on ever since. She is really beautiful---and even more so when wet.

hedgie said...

Where did everyone go? Eating, I bet! Think it's a good soup evening....think I'll try Progresso's New England Clam Chowder! No reason why it shouldn't be good---I've liked all varieties I've tried so far!

stronghunter said...

Back from haircut. Also finally took dead Diehard back to Sears. They tested it and said it is no good. I said that's what the other place told me, so I want some money back. Got about $100.00, and here I have just been driving around with the dang thing sitting in the back seat.

Used part of the money to buy a new air filter, but not going to try to put it in with the rain. Maybe Will can take care of it for me tomorrow.

Andrea, I have always been glad that I decided to go back to school. When I decided to go back to teaching, I had to renew my certificate, so I started taking graduate classes. I kept on until I got a degree that really updated me and has enabled me to teach the dual enrollment classes. I worked very hard, but I loved it.

I am sure doors will open for you as well. People will always need health care. Sorry you are hitting frustrating problems right now. It has to get better!

stronghunter said...

Andrea, Ihave always wondered how much it takes to become a medical transcriptionist. How long does it take? It seems like you are doing an awful lot.

stronghunter said...

I am just amazed at the number of tests you have to take.

Wahoo! Rif Ram Bah Zoo! Let it rip TCU! TCU beat Clemson. Have been watching the game on my computer.
Wahoo!

Have not read the blog yet. Went to two soccer games this morning. That was fun! Jacob was so cute. He thought they had won. (They had not!) He ran with the pack and he ran hard. lol Joseph's team lost as well, but Joseph did great. He played and ran hard. Had lunch with them, went to the house for a while and then came on home. They were going to the North Texas game this afternoon.

NatureNut said...

Good Evening & probably Good Evening! Nibbled my leftover lunch I brought home from work & fell asleep in the chair!! I don't do early AM work!!
Very busy today---National Trail and Estuaries Day at all CBNERR locations w/lots of public activities====part of that is Ches. Bay Estuarine Research Reseserves. At least the rain held off until close to 2 PM.

stronghunter said...

Lolly,

So much fun to watch the grandchildren! I am happy for you.

NatureNut said...

Had to take a break posting the last message as I noticed small white notepad sheets in the trashcan. They were my sort of diary notes of where and what we did in Greece!!!!!!Had Greek names of bldgs., etc which I would never remember. Was on small tablet in camera bag over there, but guess I brought them to desk to help ID photos. Now who could have done that???? Don't think it was the kitties! Notes are now rehidden in the camera bag!

Lolly said...

Five and under soccer is especially fun to watch. They are so cute. Coach did a good job, he was very patient.

Hunter's first soccer league did not keep score. Kathryn moved him up after one year, and he enjoyed his games.

He is not playing soccer this fall; he decided on football. It has been quite demanding, but I think he likes it, too. Kathryn figures he is getting exposed to a variety of sports, and will be able to decide later what he likes.

stronghunter said...

Hunter is one of the smaller ones.

hedgie said...

Glad you had a fun day, Lolly!!!
And Loretta, so glad you found your notes before the wastebasket got emptied---whew!!

stronghunter said...

Don't know about your kitties, Loretta, but my kitty could definitely knock something into the trash can. I found my car keys in the trash once. I had needed to take the emergency keys to work and get someone to let me in my classroom. When I came home, I searched and found that something metalic was clunking in the trash can. I had heard that same clunk when George was walking across my nightstand. He loves to knock things off surfaces, especially when he thinks I am ignoring him.

Kathryn's kitty used to pull socks out of the drawer and throw them on the floor.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, gang,
I'm back for just a bit--homework overload.

Judie, you've got e-mail.

Shirley, it takes about 1-1/2 to 2 years to get a degree in M.T.--I'm going to try to get through it as soon as possible so I can be gainfully employed!

It DOES seem like a lot, doesn't it?
I haven't ever seen so many tests thrown my way, either. But this school has a really good reputation, and their percentage of students placed in a job after graduation is about 98%, so guess it's well worth it!

Ms Bookworm said...

Shirley,
I don't regret for a moment going back to school. It's SO interesting, and I hope to eventually be self-employed, which seems like a good idea in this economy. The reason the medical classes are so detailed is that you have to take the same ones the Medical Assistant and Nursing students are taking, not the ones for students who are not in a medical major, like court reporting.

Andy, just saw in paper today that our local vo-tech school is going to be offering M.T.---don't know what the program consists of----or how long it lasts; the LPN course there is 18 mos.
They are hooked up with the local colleges now, so that students earn college credits while getting certificates, but don't believe that they are degree programs.

Did you know that turtles can learn words and can be taught to come when called? Myrtle always listens and turns her head when I talk---but she never does what I tell her to do!!!

Dustin got the lawn mowed just as the rains came...Thank You Jesus!
He helped in the shop and tidied up outside. Put hay bales around the front of shop, ready for pumpkins and chrysanthemums to decorate them. Now I know why the Lord put this kid into our lives 10 years after, what we thought, was the last grandchild. He has been a blessing to us this Summer. The Lord DOES work in mysterious ways:)
Capt. Gene's foot is giving him a fit again. Doctor did say it was gout, but not bad enough for meds!?
So, he appreciated having Dustin this weekend Too.

Hi all! Home from dinner out. We do not do that often, but when we do we do it elegantly. At at Bella Italia. Yummy! Had a fantastic bottle of Italian wine.
Very nice evening.

However, talked with Laurel on the way home. She is sick and getting worse fast. No fever yet, thank goodness. Looks like I may be going to her place this next week to care for two boys. Time will tell. Just do not want Jacob or myself to get sick. We have our trip coming up!

Shirley, Laurel does the same with Joseph. He plays soccer in the fall, basketball in the winter, and then baseball in the spring. However, we do not believe in football until 7th grade at the earliest. Do not know yet what really will hold his interest as he get older.

Here's a late-night column:

Lynn, so happy Myrtle stopped by for a snack. So happy you had a snack for her. Maybe you could set up a turtle obedience school with Myrtle as the head mistress.

Shirley, hope your haircut is loverly and just the way you like it.

Jo, enjoy doing nothing.

Lolly, still raining?

Deb, don't ya just love the power that comes with turning in the crooks?

Megan, is it true that sunflowers can be planted for deer to eat so they don't get into the vegetables?

I seem to have misplaced the PA link. Would someone kindly find it for me?

Can't wait for Andrea to become a medical transcriber so next time I go to the hospital she can transcribe my Bd as 1989.

There you go! Just the mention of birthday and I got even more tuckered out.

Good night to everyone. Turning my light off but leaving the night light on so others won't stumble around.

Are you going to try to come to Shepherdstown during the Open House Week-end Oct 16-17-18 ?

Well, Lolly, I am sure glad I met you last year!

And this year I have my digital camera, even though I was very pleased with some of the pictures I got last year with the old one...

Lolly said...

Well, Margy, if you can not make the luncheon, I think that qualifies you for a bottle. lol It is a real thrill to attend in a bottle.

magpie said...

Bird at the top left of the Okie Cam page, I think is a yellow-billed cuckoo....I was very fortunate to see two of them last year at my favorite birding spot, Swinging Bridge....

magpie said...

Lolly - if so I will put give the gals a picture with my bare feet showing so I can get my nails painted nice and pretty as yours were last May ☺

magpie said...

another lighted boat at Finland

Wandaa's and Jo's Ferry Boat maybe

And Sundays seems to be boating day there so we should see some of that in daytime ☺

magpie said...

Well I didn't mark many things off on my to-do list, so with a nap behind me and two cups of coffee in me, I might try to get back to it...

I'll say Good Night to the pillow-goers for now, but I will still be up....and back on for sure ☺

Oh, I did get a new flag for my little flag stake on the porch, wow, what an awesome selection....needed to get one to show support for the troops, but it was all I could do NOT to get the beautiful soaring Eagle one (National Geographic picture) - so maybe I should get another flag hanger.

magpie said...

While I am thinking of it,

Hi, Everyone!
Finally making my way back here. Had Chinese takeout for dinner--YUM! Broccoli beef and lemon chicken. Lynn, don't you worry that you're talking to a turtle. It beats talking to yourself! Besides, she actually listens to you! What a cutie. Now that I think about it, people (like me, for instance) talk to their plants. Tell me, does Myrtle like rose flowers and rose hips?
Judie, hope you never have to be in the hospital, but should the opportunity come up, one of my fingers just might slip a bit. After all, nobody's perfect! LOL :oD
Margy, it's beautiful at Finland Water nest! I really like it, too. Well, it's getting kinda late here, so think I will call it a night. Judie left the night light on, the porch light will go on when it sees you coming up the walk, and the eye scanner door lock is enabled. Prayers being said for everyone. Have a good night pillow surfing, everyone! See you in the morning.

magpie said...

The bear is still moving around at Snowman, but the still cam does seem to be stuck at 2306 hours...the little sailboats have been out at Finland, and the magpie is headed for the roost.

Good Night... God Bless Us, Every One
xo ♥

Good Morning, Miss Norma!
Pandas would surely become extinct if Mother Nature wasn't helped along a little bit. We know how beautiful they are and want to keep them around, just as we have done here, in the US with the eagles!

hedgie said...

Hi, Norma....we heard about the British pundit and read his opinion about the pandits...he's an arse....link on yesterday's posts but don't remember who put it on....Chrissy has written to all authority she can think of to have action taken against the guy---he's an arse!
