Hidey is very vocal. Maybe thanking all his eaglet fans for trying to save the D.C. eagle domain. Seems as if some of the efforts may already be gaining needed attention. I'll do more tomorrow.
Happy birthday to the panda boy. Was cute to watch him tackle his birthday treat this morning.
I have called the Sierra Club in Washington, DC. Left my phone number for them to call me back. They have a news room. That I am certain would be interested in the Eagles land being destroyed.
Is Norma still AWOL? I didn't read the early early am comments to see if she were on. I know she went to Cumberland and I know her grandkids from FL were in Frederick but don't think she planned to meet up with them yet.
Thank you Mema Jo about Anna-Marie. I'll just keep my prayers going.
Oh my Mema Jo-yes Ed had dr appt. not good. 2 weeks was as soon as they can get him in to see thoracic surgeon. His pulmonary dr. will be meeting with this dr before our appt. Pulmonary dr. said Ed is not a good candidate for any surgery. He is very worried. If they wait and it is cancer that is bad. If they don't wait and go in and remove nodule that lite up high on PET SCAN and not cancer that too is bad. Will create more scarring in lungs for Ed. Which of course will make his breathing worse. Which is terrible now pulmonary said. So we will see what surgeon thinks in 2 weeks.
I pray they could do something to improve Ed's breathing somewhat. Frederick Memorial has a Cyberknife - for patients that are NOT good surgery candidates - like Ed & me. The thoracic surgeon who did my biopsy said that if there were a next time I would need to go that way. Such Joy!
Judie you have done wonderful work on trying to help protect these Eagles. I thank you for the places also to write.
Mema Jo--Norma went to Cumberland to get the appliances. Haven't heard from her since. I think she ditched the "plumber" and ran off with the "appliances guy"!!!!
I am home and looking at HIdey! How great is that, I wish I had seen the adult, too.
We had another inch of rain and have flash flood warnings out, with more rain expected later tonight. This mornings weather said we were done until next week, how can they be that wrong between morning and afternoon! I guess the streets were flooded this afternoon, .71" of rain in 15 minutes.
This seems to be a long time I keep asking for PRAYERS but I know everyone will continue. That is why I don't give up...I know God is hearing all of your prayers. I truly and honestly thank you for them. Hugs for the Prayers.
Oh my Deb Mom has a sump pump..praying yours hold out.
Hey Normabyrd,I got a call back from Sen Byrd's office today. They want me to give them some more info about the D.C. nest.I will give them a call tomorrow during office hours. You were right.he might care!!!
Hi everyone, I hope everyone is well. My flickr address is www.flickr.com/photos/indianaeagles 9/photostream I hope this works let me know, pass the word thanks. Indiana Nesting Eagles----Dave
Margy Did you go to Wanda's garden - she said just to leave her one for her BLT! The ones I got are beautiful and taste delicious. That's what I had for my dinner - tomato/cheese sandwich. Tomorrow I get some bacon! Come on over!
I called Norma She laughed about us thinking she ditched the Plumber and took off with the Appliance guy! lol Her appliances do get delivered this upcoming Wed. She has just been busy busy with her Wellness Ctr activities - Said she feels great going early morning hours. She has been reading - BUT she will be on the blog tomorrow - Computer is ok!
Something seems about to happen our nest...watching, waiting, chirping...love those leaves in the nest with Hidey.
Deb - Thank you so much for posting the link to I-Dave's photos! Many I could never open before..how about those bob white quail, all the other neat things, AND ALL THE EAGLE PICTURES...
Ah, I think I have a clue about Hidey's real identity. Hidey is really not an eagle but a very small feathered swine as he/she has stayed around just to play the "ham" for us today.
HO---thanks, Jo---glad that Norma is fine! Dana, ask that they send the biopsy tissue to Georgetown for another analysis! PET scan disc, too! I have contact info--I can send it to you if you want it. The only kind of surgery that Ed could do is cyberknife; there is another procedure that they are doing at GT that is not done anywhere else around the east coast that has been very successful, too.....but GT is going to make very sure that it is CA before they even contemplate doing anything.
I don't cook a whole lot but I can whip up a mean batch of wild morels with egg batter and onions and butter - Yum ! Been too long since I had some to cook with !
My letter to Audubon came back w/ an error message saying that it couldn't be delivered in 3 hrs. and was removed from the queue....will try sending again!
I just heard from Roger. He had damage from this morning's storm. One broken window, a lot of hail dents to the window frames and his flowers ruined. He and Donna have a beautiful yard. :( He built a stream and pond in his backyard, it is surrounded by all kinds of flowers.
Grandson and daughter just left with a plate for her hubby. He was too tired to come over after a long day at work, but was hungry and wanted some pork chops.
I think tomorrow I need to pick up in advance 3 movie tickets for the Potter movie. My 17 yr old gs reminded me that I started this ritual with the 1st movie for him and his younger brother. I have to get the book out so I can at least remember most of the story!
I am very fortunate. They live about 15 minutes away.
I remember how many times my mother said she wished we lived closer. It would have been nice, and I truly appreciate it now that I am on the other side.
Of the other 3--one lives with me and the other two live in the DC suburbs.
I am looking at the Lake Washington nest again and still only see the 1 eaglet. I am being convinced that the other has fledged. Both the eggs hatched on 4/29 - same day.
A tribute to Tai on this his 4th b-day was given on the Daniel's Multiple Panda Cam Feeds' home page. The video of Tai's birth through his 1st year is great! Brings back lots of memories!
Paula, had to tell you...Gene fixed BBQ shrimp this evening as per your instructions. They were WONDERFUL! He used spicy sauce on half and regular on the other half. Both were delicious. Takes a while to prepare them, but well worth it:)
Yep, Dave, Deb ia like having a remote control. As soon as we wish there was an instant link to a site..Deb has it on here. We're so glad to have her and glad that you share your photos with us. The two of you could probably have a blast together with your cameras and some wildlife:)
Thanks for all the email addresses and sample letters to write about the habitat destruction of the DC eagles...I have saved them to be able to send in my concerns as well!
Had to make Part 2 of the movie before part 1....couldn't get all the files I needed home tonight...will finish my part 1 tomorrow night...part 2 is still processing.
Moonie is rising slowly - I haven't checked but I think it and Jupiter will be pretty close together tonight and tomorrow both. Moon and the next brightest object closest to it is Jupiter.
I've got a question, Wanda and Paula...I've got the shrimp....but I've never tried to peel raw shrimp. Is there a secret???? Think I remember reading once to use a sewing seam-ripper--but where do you start???

There is such a device expressly for shrimp and does work very well, but takes forever. The device itself, looks like a shrimp.
I start on the underpart of the shrimp where the feet? feeler? things are. Sort of split the shell there, then unwrap around the shrimp...remove around the tail last.
No lightening bug (firefly) in the video. Saw them tonight while I was watering the flower gardens. No field trip either! Just work! Lots and lots of work.
I see you already have the shrimp, Lynn. Take your ripper to the top of the shrimp where the head was cut off and push it in til you get under the vein and rip it clean back to the tail and discard.
I guess, is it a good sign that things are busy at your workplace Paula... with the economy the way it is, I guess any busy business is a good sign...but too much busy is never a whole lot of fun. I'm glad it is Friday for you tomorrow ☺ Okay on to the video of action that I missed !

Now that is cool hel---l0 Hidey ( :
Awww the puppy sound tee hee
In reading comments sounds like Wanda has made a connection. I am so happy for her. I always got so excited when that happened.
Does anyone know how Anna-Marie is doing?
I'm back with a sack full of 'maters!
Don't think anyone has yet heard from Anne Marie, Dana.
Ed had Dr today - right? I'm praying along with everyone on here for his health!
I have called the Sierra Club in Washington, DC. Left my phone number for them to call me back. They have a news room. That I am certain would be interested in the Eagles land being destroyed.

Dana, my prayers will certainly be with you and Ed.
Dana,
You and Ed are in my prayers daily. I know everyone is praying for the best. It is especially nice that you took time to contact Sierra Club.
Judie

I need to go and plug in my sump pump.
Raining pretty hard in Bluefield right now.
A three-Hidey visit for me today, though the first was less than 30-seconds early this morning. Such a beautiful view right now. Picture perfect.
Dana - - The Prayer Chain-Gang is at work for you and Ed....
God Bless You Both.
xo
Going to be busy in Deb's neck of the woods no doubt with all the rain - be careful Deb
Hidey in that nest with the shadows the way they are is absolutely breathtaking!
I could eat about a dozen tomato sandwiches right about now, thanks for the suggestion JO - but I don't have any tomatoes !!
:(
There is something "Native-American Indian" about that view at our nest...
Stunning....
Good Afternoon Eagle Pals xo
Two big things I haven't marked off my to-do list today, vacuum (Woof! ) and transplant some flowers...think I'll do the second one first ! ☺
Dana - you keep on asking for prayers for as long as you want, in fact, you don't even need to ask anymore...
I thought I had unplugged the sump pump, but it is working away.
Hey Normabyrd,I got a call back from Sen Byrd's office today. They want me to give them some more info about the D.C. nest.I will give them a call tomorrow during office hours. You were right.he might care!!!

Justin said hello to everybody and thanks for his well-wishes. He is doing much better. We haven't heard anything from the police yet.
has the bully bothered him anymore?
I liked the Pelican picture taken from the plane, too. That would be fun to see from above.
No, we haven't seen him.
Bill, please catch the name of the person you deal with at Byrd's office!! If it's Chris Tissue, he's the son of a friend of mine!!
Margy Did you go to Wanda's garden - she said just to leave her one for her BLT! The ones I got are beautiful and taste delicious. That's what I had for my dinner - tomato/cheese sandwich. Tomorrow I get some bacon! Come on over!
Poop shoot, redecorating and probably getting ready to take off after lightening the load.
I called Norma
She laughed about us thinking she ditched the Plumber and took off with the Appliance guy! lol Her appliances do get delivered this upcoming Wed.
She has just been busy busy with her Wellness Ctr activities - Said she feels great going early morning hours.
She has been reading - BUT she will be on the blog tomorrow - Computer is ok!
Thanks for the Normabyrd update, Jo! Glad all is well with her.
I want to be as fit as she is when I grow up.
And Hidey didn't take off yet. She has been there for a long time and I am loving it.
Sharon, I want to be like Norma, too, all that energy and enthusiasm!
I think Norma is with M. Barry as the charges were dropped this morning so he now has time for a new extracurricula daliance.
Judie
Dave, pics are great....as always! You sure have been busy!
Headed over to younger son's
He needs to look at my Toyota - certain light coming on!

Hidey just left. Hope for a return tomorrow.

It was a nice, long visit. And I missed the first part of it. Off to feed the dogs.
YEP,I was checking some e-mails and missed the take-off
HO---thanks, Jo---glad that Norma is fine!

Okay back to work...done one room moving to the other :(
My letter to Audubon came back w/ an error message saying that it couldn't be delivered in 3 hrs. and was removed from the queue....will try sending again!

MIght be a guard tooting the horn!
More horn blowing! Good evening eagle buddies.
Grandson and daughter just left with a plate for her hubby. He was too tired to come over after a long day at work, but was hungry and wanted some pork chops.
I see I missed a lot of messages while I was gone. You all have been busy.
Shirley How close do they live?
Just got back from son's. Car should be ok.
Eating a cheese & cracker snack.
Sandwich didn't fill me up at dinner.
I think tomorrow I need to pick up in advance 3 movie tickets for the Potter movie. My 17 yr old gs reminded me that I started this ritual with the 1st movie for him and his younger brother. I have to get the book out so I can at least remember most of the story!
I show on the schedule for my Zip that the ISS at
08:49:38 pm ESE 08:50:45 35° -2.6 (very bright)
I am going out on the deck BUT I think I have too many trees around....
I am very fortunate. They live about 15 minutes away.
I remember how many times my mother said she wished we lived closer. It would have been nice, and I truly appreciate it now that I am on the other side.
Of the other 3--one lives with me and the other two live in the DC suburbs.
Well, didn't see the ISS, not high enough to clear the trees. I think we'll go to another spot up the road to see tomorrow.
Love Dave's pics! Thanks for the link, Deb!
Sounds like me - all 5 live within 15 min to 1 hr away from us. Convenient for them and for us! Did I ever tell you that 'I love Family'
I did not see the ISS... BUT I saw
bright lights flashing on the tails of the fire flys!
Me too, Jo! They are out in force tonight!
Dave's pics of the little raccoon are great! I sure like the Bull Frog!
I bet Wanda likes the Fox in the field.
Did not see the ISS either, but enjoyed the nice evening air.
I do love the cool summer evenings
I am looking at the Lake Washington nest again and still only see the 1
eaglet. I am being convinced that the other has fledged. Both the eggs hatched on 4/29 - same day.
Deb so sorry to hear of the damage to Roger and Donna's house and yard...glad to hear no injuries reported...
It was a beautiful sunset here, these cool nights are something else! No ISS in these parts tonight, will be Friday though.
Well, a little more cleaning to do, this phase of it anyway.
Nice to see folks here tonight, as always, nice to be home to enjoy it ! ☺
I saw lots of lightening bugs while I was out water the flower gardens :)
I got lots of video today...off to make a movie :)

Hi deb your the best,thanks
for passing on the flickr site
so all can see.
Indiana Nesting Eagles----Dave
Dave, great pics and thanks for sharing them!
Good nite everyone!
Glad you enjoyed it Wanda...it is definitely worth the prep time!
Dave - glad to see you back...will check out your pics, too.
Yep, Dave, Deb ia like having a remote control. As soon as we wish there was an instant link to a site..Deb has it on here. We're so glad to have her and glad that you share your photos with us. The two of you could probably have a blast together with your cameras and some wildlife:)

You have us on the edge of our seats Paula -
Eagles? Lightning Bugs? Both - will be fun to see when it is ready No Doubt !
Wanda - I enjoyed all my picnic leftovers this week! You guys can cook!
Moonie is rising slowly - I haven't checked but I think it and Jupiter will be pretty close together tonight and tomorrow both. Moon and the next brightest object closest to it is Jupiter.
I am off to read for awhile. Night everyone.
Good night. See you tomorrow.
I've got a question, Wanda and Paula...I've got the shrimp....but I've never tried to peel raw shrimp. Is there a secret???? Think I remember reading once to use a sewing seam-ripper--but where do you start???
Paula, did you go on a field trip today??
Dana - so glad you could visit us today. Continued prayers for Ed.
Dave love your pics. Love the crawfish fighting. Reminds me of looking for crawfish in the creek behind our house when we were kids.
Lynn, nix the shrimp that needs to be deveined...we buy the ones that are EZ peel. The shell practically falls off when you grab the tail while holding top of shrimp and pull.
Wow, video is ready!
Part 1 tomorrow night!! lol
It's Mine, All Mine, Part 2
Shell should then come off easily. I've never tried Paula's method...may be better:)
I guess, is it a good sign that things are busy at your workplace Paula... with the economy the way it is, I guess any busy business is a good sign...but too much busy is never a whole lot of fun. I'm glad it is Friday for you tomorrow ☺
Okay on to the video of action that I missed !
sunny at Finney's O's nest, and cloudy and rainy at Finland's O's nest
Good night everyone. Peace and prayers for all.
Night Mits!
Wanda, your method might be easier. I haven't ever used the deveiner....sounds easier!
I'll probably try it over the weekend...thanks for tips/hints! Sounds like it might be worth the extra cost of buying it already peeled!!!
Hope you can watch it Margy...I can't seem to get back on there now...
Going to watch Paula's video, and then bath and book. Good night, fowl friends. Peace and prayers. "See" you tomorrow!
Wow that was some cake for Tai, just saw it on the news.
Loved the video, Paula! I haven't seen Hidey in a week. Feel like I've had my FIX now:)
Easy peel shrimp are the easiest!
Five-Star Paula - great, over 70 minutes that poor soul was worried about the food!
And the construction workers banging and sawing the whole time!
Thanks!
Margy, by the time you get back from Mass. our tomatoes should be more abundent and we can drop off a bag each time we pass by going to GeeGee's. If you already have some, give them to your neighbors. Will have squash to spare later on too:) Lynn, do you have a garden?
Margy - business is slow...paperwork never ends!
It's been forever since I've seen Hidey too...and then 2 visits today. At least I was able to record one of them!
Good Night Helen and Lynn, and anyone else ready to roost.
I have a few more chores to attend to - including watering the plants I transplanted....
Paula - I hear ya' -
things are completely unpredictable where I work, except for Friday and Saturday nights, almost always busy. Take Care.
Hope everyone gets a good rest tonight....and I hope you can find a little RED to wear on Friday.
God Bless Us Every One, and Big Prayers for those in need
xox ♥
Hitting the hay...still have green tomatoes here...did get some ripe ones from the veg stand last weekend...been enjoying BLT's this week.
Night all!
Hugs to all ♥
We have noticed, the worse the economy, the more the crime. People take what other people have worked hard for. Sad.
I sure hope we hear from Megan and Norma on Friday, and many others we miss on here !
Well, Margy, I guess your job will never be in danger...there will always be emergencies and crime.
I'm ready to end this beautiful day. Hope tomorrow is as nice (low humidity).
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL...SPECIAL ONE FOR
DANA AND ED
The news is over and I am ready to turn off computer...
Good Night All
Prayers for everyone being said

Well, I feel very fortunate that I get to see a little bit of Megan on my front stoop every day! Snapdragons and marigolds, Salvia and a few other specials. Hedgie is my witness!
