Glad you made it back safe. Who took the pictures? Did Jay go? Funny story about when Mits went white water rapids. Jay's cousin kept hitting her and almost knocking her out. When they stopped and started again she told Jay to sit near him. He knocked Jay out.
I'm just now getting some late lunch-- have been studying nonstop since just after a very early breakfast. This is the evening when I have TWO big tests! (Please keep praying, you guys!) Lord, help me-- I really need you now!
I think I'm going to take a quick shower to kind of wake myself up, and so I don't have to rush to get ready to go to school later. Need a bit of a break, anyway. Judie, I'm following your advice and not trying to cram too much info in, in too little time. Mostly just reviewing the high points, and hoping for the best. SO MUCH info, and SO LITTLE time! Guess the whole class is in the same boat, but the teacher doesn't grade on the curve.
Still not caught up on the blog, but: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, CAROL! and WAY TO GO, MITS!!! (I'm afraid I'm way too chicken to try that-- I'll leave it up to you!)
Must go now; will be back after school tonight (probably very late for you guys-- 10:30pm PST!) Take care, all, and thanks for your prayerful support! BBL. :o]
Refreshed right in time to see parent land and Hidey right behind him. I couldn't tell who brought the meal or what it is behind the smudge. Lovely to see Hidey on this sunny afternoon! She's casting a HUGE shadow! hee, hee
Nuts, guess I missed the show---my nest is MT. Oh well, maybe I'll catch 'em on the flip side ☺ Fingers crossed for Ms. Bookworm---know you'll do well on those tests--just be cool and calm like Helen!!!
Gee, everyone must be having a very busy evening! Mits, I am so proud of you and so excited for you! Way cool!!!! I'd do it in a minute if I had the opportunity! Andrea, know that my thoughts are with you as you test out this evening...know you will ace them! Nest trip all arranged for tomorrow afternoon. Eating lunch in S'town at noon (Kazu) and then on to NCTC. It will probably be about 1:30-2. WILL HONK!!!! Hope someone hears me!
Hi, Paula, Lynn and Sharon. I got the front yard mowed, only 87 out so I quick got it done. Now I am cooling down before I clean up. I hope to get more done in the AM if the grass is dry enough. No rain since Monday, but it is still humid out.
Did ya'll hear the latest on the SC governor...saw this about 5pm today, made me laugh!
AP - After going AWOL for seven days, Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Wednesday that he had secretly flown to Argentina to visit a woman with whom he was having an affair. Wiping away tears, he apologized to his family and gave up a national Republican Party post, but was silent on whether he would resign.
Poor crying governor, give me a break. Last night I heard they found his SUV at the airport, with a duffle bag in the front seat and a sleeping bag in the back seat...camping, NOT!
Oh, it was blast, Hedgie. My son and I went when we were in the Virgin Islands. Talk about a view! We were there in off season, think the guys gave us a 45 minutes ride!
Deb, got a half-hearted apology this afternoon. As we are so fond of saying...it is what it is---or isn't, as the case may be! Only one more day to cope....wish mom could just stay longer!
Wow, such fun, Paula! May have mentioned it before...one of the best adventures I ever had was going up in an aerobatic plane--experienced rolls, snap-rolls, hammerhead stall and some cool dives!Helicopter ride was neat. Missed out on a balloon ride due to weather being too hot---appparently messes up the air currents badly for the canopy.
Yep, Paula...they leave Fri. am to head back to Missou. I've been seeing a few lightening bugs for a couple of weeks....thought the rains had done them in...but they are out tonight in greater numbers than I've seen so far.
I've flown, Paula...ex-BIL was a pilot and was in a club with 4 other guys---they had their own plane. Whenever we went up, he let me fly it. I helped him study for his license for a year, so felt like I knew A LOT!! Will always remember the weekend of my Grams' 90th birthday....ex took her for a motorcyccle ride, and his bro took her up in the plane (she had flown commercial, but never in a small plane really seeing the scenery!). She was thrilled. Mom did those things, too, that weekend but she was only 64 at the time!
back from dinner and the boardwalk, company leaving tomorrow, heading for a visit to Annapolis, and taking dinner to the M&M's girls...Ceil, Jay did not go, he had a conference call, and the para-sailing people took the pics.....
I had a nice trip to Kings Dominion with my daughter and grandson. Am exhausted. I would have a heart attack parasailing. The Scooby Do almost finished me off. My daughter had extreme laughing fits at the picture they took of me on that ride.
If anyone wants to go parasailing or any such thing, I'll watch. I can be an appreciative audience.
Just so you know, I have survived a head-on collision, a rear-end collision that knocked me into a ravine (neither my fault), and I've ridden in a helicopter with no doors. Parasailing. No, thanks.
Hedgie, hope the last day will be at least somewhat less stressful. I hope the weekend will give you time to relax and recover. Families can be difficult.
Mits, your MAO levels must be increasing as jet skiiing seems less risky than para-sailing. Enjoy when you have the opportunity.
No Hidey. No Lib. No Belle. Maybe tomorrow. Good night everyone.
Oh Hello and Good Night for those on the verge of heading for the pillows. No blankies needed tonight!
Some of the Magical Morgan County lighning bugs must have headed out to other corners...I have been seeing them up there for weeks. Glad the rest of you are now too !
I tried to look for the Pipsissewa flowers that Wanda got seeds from when I was going through Spruce Pine Hollow this afternoon, kinda hard to see much at 55 mph. A slower journey off the road at the roadside park will probably do the trick. If I didn't spell that right, I hope I came close !
Aaaaaaaaah Kings Dominion, went there one time many years ago, and since my three companions went on the roller coaster, I did too. Then I was hooked on that!
Time for me to head to the tub and my book. Just finished writing checks for 1st of month bills. Will talk to you fine fowl friends in the morning, before we head for the nest! Sweet sleep, prayers and blessings for all y'all!
Margy - a girl has to stay warm and cool! I only try to use the AC when it's hot, like we have been having and planned for the next week or so. Also, don't want the dogs to be too hot.
Was reminiscing with an old friend by email earlier today, spoke of bathing suits, swimming, suntans, croquet and baseball, and bike-riding....when I retire I want to go back to doing all that ! ☺
Gotta go get some of those accordian wing thingys for one of them, cheap replacements I bought last year are falling apart. Had to tape up the existing ones until I can get to the store tomorrow
Speaking of croquet, I gave my son a set for Christmas..now that they have a nice yard, I'll have to remind them of the set and maybe we can all play one evening...
I knew you would say that Paula.... you be careful, you don't want to have back problems or aches and pains like us old fogeys do!
Good Night Hedgie - Have a Great time at the Nest!
Shirley - a great age. They are full of wonder AND knowledge.
Well, better take care of a few things around here like laundry, got all wet at the town springs in Berkeley Springs State park, and changed clothes in the car! Good thing for tinted windows. Got the kid changed pretty much on the sidewalk....saw a couple with 7 Pomeranians out for a walk. They were adorable!
P.S. Hi, Margy! You are not alone--- use electric blankie when the AC is on sometimes, too! And forgot to say that both of my girls were here for dinner tonight, so that helped relieve the tension! Bye-e-e-e!
Ah, duct tape I bet Paula... it worked at the nest, so I hope it works on the accordian thingy things. My Dad would repair things with scotch tape and staples, he was not much of a mechanic, bless his heart! But he was very smart and played ALL kinds of games with all us kids, and invented a bunch of them too.
I have a lot of catching up to do on here. Haven't been on this new thread. Visited GeeGee today. I see where Helen actually went Parasailing. I thought she was kidding. YOU GO GIRL!! Lynn, the wreck at the beach was from stoopidity. Driving around mud-bogging...came across this standing water and thought they could make it through. There were two trucks mud-bogging, Karla was in the second truck...Dustin was in the one that got stuck. If you look at the second photo, you can see him in a red shirt, bailing out of the truck. He said he had so much fun, that he will remember this day forever:) Hope your nest visit is a fun one. I love it there...it's almost magical. Yes, Anne-Marie is the one who has never seen lightning bugs. She is leaving on a trip with 2 grandkids around the southwest and will be looking for cowboys. I told her all we saw were Indians:) PAULA...have a great time this weekend. I hope you will not be going to Argentina;) MARGY, I got the Pipsissewa many years ago, before we built our house, and planted them under our pine trees, because that is their habitat. This is the first time I have seen them bloom. Wet weather may have something to do with it, or I just was in the right place at the right time. Sandman is calling me.
I got home from school a little early tonight. No lecture, just a film showing 3 different laparascopic operations-- appendectomy, abdominal hernia repair, and a knee repair. Very interesting! Boy, talk about a hairy exam! So many questions it was like taking 3 exams in one week! My brain says, "I told you, ENOUGH, already!!!!" One more exam next week, on 5 chapters, and the week after that is the final exam! No rest for the weary. At least I don't think I've flunked anything yet. Hope my widdow brain hangs in there for two more weeks!
Sorry I've missed seeing Hidey and parents again today. I'm pretty weary tonight, so think I'll hit the ole nest early and cut some zzzs. Prayers for all, and prayers of thanksgiving too, for such caring, prayerful friends! I really appreciate you guys. God bless, and a good night! :o]
P.S.-- I LOVE lightning bugs! When we visit family in Pennsylvania we love to drive through the corn fields at night and watch all of them. It's fun to sit on the porch and watch them, too. Hubby used to catch a bunch in a jar when he was a kid, then after a while would turn them loose. Great memories!
Morning all:) Have a great day, gonna be a hot one. Just wanted to report I'm still not at the beach, and I am not hiking the Appalachian trail....ha ha ha-
I'm up early again, trying to get all my laundry done before the weekend. Have a bit of housework to catch up on, too. Don't see our Hidey yet; hope the rascal shows up when I'm looking today! Beginning to really miss him! Hear that he brought his own fish to the nest recently-- that's fantastic! Sounds like he's getting the hang of it, and is not likely to starve! Lib & Belle are doing a great job of preparing Hidey for life in the real world! They're the best!
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!---WOW!--I will never catch up!---'sounds as if there is a whole lot of shakin' going on'!! ho!---YAY! MITS--I always knew you had 'SPUNK'--ho!---HEDGIE--didn't realize you were such a DARE-DEVIL??---WANDA & MAGPIE!!---Who pays your electric bills?? ho!--SHIRLEY --have been KINGS DOM--I loved their ICES!--MAGPIE--'you are the bestest of the best GRANNYS!--ENJOYING THE WATERS--(that GEORGE WASHINGTON bathed in) Doubt GW changed clothes on his horse!----I HAVE MISSED EVERYONE!-----BUSY HERE!---HEDGIE--the end is near--(unless they decide to stay another day)---happened to me ONCE!!----We love all our relatives---just can't live with them!!----LOVE TO OUR LITTLE 'BABY'--miss the sound of her SQUEALING VOICE---the little IMP----LIFE IS GOOD!---ENJOY YOUR DAY--'STAY AWAY FROM THE BEACH'!!! (if you want sharon's love) ho!--LOVE YOU BLUEFIELD!!!
WHOA!--COOL MEGAN---I just have to say it--"don't yell people"!!---
SUCH A RELIEF!!---We have found another elected person--who has--sob!--sob! been unfaithful to his wife!!----& he isn't a DEMOCRAT!! DEMOCRATS have always been the lovers!!----times they are a-changing!!
Someone mentioned changing clothes in the car...3 years ago I was in Alaska visiting BLT. We went to a lake with beach and no changing facilities. Grandaughter T, who was nearly 10 put her bathing suit on over her clothes and then proceeded to take off her clothes, including undies. I just sat there watching, transfixed. This Granny sure learned a new trick.
Lightning bugs were a childhood favorite of mine, but living in the big city in TX for 40+ years I never saw them. They have been around here for a week or two.
MORNIN' GRANNY BLT!---OH YEAH!---We can learn lots of things from our grand-kids!!!---DID YOU TAKE NOTES!---ho!-- I learned they don't have lighting bugs in FL!!
Wow--parasailing. I would be on the sidelines cheering you on. Ive never been one to take physical challenges. I am lucky to be able to ride a bicycle.
I better get Mom(87) up and moving. Her cleaning ady comes today, so I am going to Pitsburgh to the Aviary.
WANDA---Thanks---You have a beautiful collection of wild flowers!---I love hunting for wild flowers!!---House bldg has taken over our county---makes it harder to find them!!!
MORNIN' DEB!---I read you are working different hours---They must enjoy confusing you!--ho! Be glad when it's over--so we can enjoying your trips!!---Have a good day!
last Friday when our friends' came into town,( from Arizona) they where sitting on our back deck in Bethesda, the 13 year old was so excited to see lightning bugs, she ran inside to get her camera, and went right thru our backdoor screen, she is fine, but I hear the screen is deceased:)
Mits, I had an experience similar to that at Kure Beach a few years ago. Was going out to the balcony and ran right into the sliding glass door. Face plant. Didn't break the glass though! :)
Talked to the scutter sister at the beach. This is their last full day at the beach! YEAH!
Mits, awesome about the parasailing! I'd like to give that a whirl someday when I get back to the beach! That's funny about the lightning bugs! So far we've had very few here and I wonder if the larva got drowned by all the rain we had?

Wow, Hidey sure is looking good! Is that a fish he's working on? If so, does anybody know if he brought it with him? Is our baby learning how to fish really well?!
Gosh, Hidey sure left quickly! Glad I happened to be here so I didn't miss the little imp again. He is looking a bit thinner; hope the fishing is good so he doesn't get too skinny! Knowing his appetite, though, he's surely motivated to catch something!
Does anybody know what they're doing near the nest that there's so much hammering?
Good morning! Can't believe that Christmas is only 6 mos. away!! Haven't done ANY shopping yet...LOL! Norma, don't think my electric blankie uses enough electricity to worry about! Did you know that the computer costs 15 cents a day if you leave it on all day long? Missed Hidey this am...haven't looked in the last hour.
Good Morning All! I agree Margy that reading the morning comments beats the morning newspaper! Getting ready for 'my turn' to have dinner for the Germany Gang. Most of the family is also coming - can't miss being with them for the short time they are here.
Andrea - sounds like you don't sleep very much. That's the life of a student...you are really working those brain cells and typing fingers. Bravo on all your accomplishments and aspirations.
Sharon - I am not at the beach either. Just the little sandy spring runs at Berkeley Springs! So I hope you like me ♥
Lynne2 The waxing moon will be with us for many days to come now, so good luck seeing it tonight maybe.
Megan always lets us know what the moniker is for the Full Moon each month, so in about 12 days we will get that info!
Meteor Showers The Bootids should "Peak" on the morning of June 27 - but you might catch a few the night before and the night/s following. Got to get up before dawn to catch a look, might or might not produce some good ones.
I'll be working midnight to six so will miss it !
My bucket list today includes a bunch of runaround chores :(
But I hope to cruise the back roads for wildflowers, otherwise often known as Weeds! How insulting!
Remember : Hedgie Lynn and her family will be at the nest around 1:30 and she is going to honk! I won't be here for it but I hope she has an audience and the Royal Family makes an appearance at the Sycamore Palace !
Ready to head out for Shepherdstown. Lunch, nest and then a swing into Boonsboro, MD to show Mom Nora Roberts' hotel. Be back sometime this afternoon or evening. Don't forget to listen for my honk!!!
Morning all. Mits was always the spunky one of us. I am fine just keeping my feet on the ground. I get into enough trouble. Lynn you are probably gone but hope you have a nice day. Will try to hear the honk. Saw lightening bugs when with left Kevin's on Sunday.
A Kings Dominion story . . . when we were there yesterday--at the water park near the lockers--my daughter pointed out a closet door. She explained that that was the closet where she found the two people when she worked there. She was getting ready to sweep up, and went to open the closet door to get a broom and dustpan, but she couldn't open the door and eventually realized that someone was in there leaning against the door. She stepped back in amazement, and eventually two people came out adjusting their clothing. The young lady explained that the young man was helping her wring out her swimsuit. Goodness! My daughter said, "There were frogs in there, Mom." Yuck!!
On lightning bugs. One thing we discussed in my linguistics class was communication amongst various critters. One of the professors had spent time watching lightning bugs communicate. I didn't realize that there are so many variteties of lightning bugs. It seems that they emit different colors of light and hover at different levels while they are communicating with their blinks.
Shirley - like the LB info, the first ones I saw this season were above the tree tops like twinkly stars, now they are lower to the ground.
Ceil - I think Helen gets her SPUNK from her two adorable sisters!
Deb - golly...you gotta go to work just to get a break from mowing ! Know you would rather be mowing though. Have a good one, hope it goes very very fast !
I don't the governor of SC was thinking with his BRAIN...
You got it, LYNN! I'll set my cell phone alarm so I don't miss you. Have fun with our feathered friends!
MITS, thanks for the info about the hammering noise, and for the nest weather report. Sure am glad your young friend didn't go through a patio window!
MARGY, I actually get more sleep now than I did before going back to school! My brain gets tired, and comvinces the rest of me to shut down for a while.
JO, have a great time with your family today! Make the most of it.
DEB, hope you can get the mowing done before it's really hot.
SHARON, if you're still around, I'm NOT at the beach! I'm not very fond of sand; I prefer the boardwalk.
You know what? I'm not too fond of the way the nest cam is behaving for me this morning, either. Have to keep refreshing and refreshing, and keep getting a blank screen or the infamous barber pole effect. Oh, well-- at least it eventually does work. Hope they get the kinks out of the system before too long.
Oh, my-- there are fledgling house finches all over my yard! They are SO cute-- all fluffed up, and begging to be fed. They're as big as their parents now, the little moochers! They're catching on to the feeders quickly, though.
Paula, your comment about being single reminds me of something my older son once said. He worked at the White House for a short time during the Clinton administration. I reminded him to watch out for the interns there. His response was that it would appropriate for HIM to date an intern.
Of course, I would want him to be careful about which interns he associated with. . .
When my Mom turned 40 we lived on a farm in NH- lots of land, barns, etc. but only chickens. Her brother sent her a gift, a truck pulled up and two men lead out a goat, it had a sign around it's neck, that said Happy Birthday you old goat! My parents had no idea ...they were laughing really hard and then eventually realized, they now owned a freaking goat...my Dad wasn't thrilled, but she ended up talking him into another one months later to keep the first one company. I don't think they ever got even with my Uncle.
HO HO HO!! Paula, I may be absolute worst Christmas geek EVER!!! I love it all...the TRUE meaning of Christmas, the fist gift of Christmas my Lord! And I love the corny movies on Hallmark Channel, the Christmas specialsthe decorations, shopping or making special things for people, picking out and putting up my tree, the music, I think I must drive everyone crazy.....and best of all, after an adult lifetime of waiting for the right man, I will have a first Christmas with my new husband this year!
I'm off to the laundry room....I have the best visitors, they clean their bedrooms and bathrooms, wash their sheets and put them back on....I'm a lucky duck:), all I'm doing now is my laundry and the beach towels
Lynne2, you read right. I have four dogs. Mopsy (mixed breed with schnauzer I think), about 14 years old, Buphals (lab/shepherd mix), I think 7 years old, Scooby Doo (german shepherd) who is "who knows how old" and Hairy (chow, cocker and beagle mix) who is about 3. This week, I have been taking care of Sissy's dogs but 3 of the 4 of them are staying at their house. She lives 3 houses out from me. Ellie Mae, one of her 4 dachshunds, has been hanging with me this week.

I am home for lunch, need to catch up. I see Mits went Para-sailing!
Both OK cams are down again.
Thank you Steve for the new thread.
Sigh! Still no Hidey and not even a pitious squawk outrage. Maybe later as last night.
Cheers,
Judie
Back to work for me. BBL
Glad you made it back safe. Who took the pictures? Did Jay go?
Funny story about when Mits went white water rapids. Jay's cousin kept hitting her and almost knocking her out. When they stopped and started again she told Jay to sit near him. He knocked Jay out.
Oh a by the way 6 months from today is Christmas Eve
Ok is down again but I am getting Norfolk
Hi, everyone!
BBL. :o]
Shirley, I sent you an email
Ms. Bookworm you are in my prayers but know you are going to ace both exams. Look forward to hearing about them.
Costume Lady, how do I access your Wild and Wonderful blog to see the pictures?
Mits: you must have low levels of Monoamine Oxydase -- leads to risky behaviors -- bet it was great fun.
Still no Hidey.
Cheers,
Judie
Hidey's back -- can hear the pitiful squeaking.
Judie
jmp go to Wanda's last comment and click on her avatar.
Ceil, thank you so much. Just learned something new. Pictures are big help.
Hidey is in the nest making noises.
Cheers,
Judie
Refreshed right in time to see parent land and Hidey right behind him. I couldn't tell who brought the meal or what it is behind the smudge. Lovely to see Hidey on this sunny afternoon! She's casting a HUGE shadow! hee, hee
and she's gone!
Nuts, guess I missed the show---my nest is MT. Oh well, maybe I'll catch 'em on the flip side ☺
Fingers crossed for Ms. Bookworm---know you'll do well on those tests--just be cool and calm like Helen!!!

Way to go, Mits!!
Hello again everybody. Just watched a flicker feeding. They feed like they peck. I wonder if they ever impale the baby with their beak?
Evening, all.
WOW, super duper quiet here.
Got the mowing done for the week. Finally decided to put in the air conditioners.
Guess the nest has been quiet.
Paula, I saw Hidey come in for just a few seconds a while ago. I haven't seen the blog this quiet in a long time.
Of course, there are some people who are enjoying the beach but that would NOT be me! :)
I am home from work and was surprised at how few comments there are!
Glad Hidey made it in for dinner. How quickly he wolfs it down now.
And Mits went para-sailing! I told you it was fun!!
Mrs B - I'm sure you'll do great on your test! Our mind retains more than we think it does!
Well Hello Sharon and Deb!
Work and home has been so busy and crazy this week, feel like I haven't talked to anyone in ages!
OK, so I am caught up on this section!!
I am sucking on a nice frozen fruit bar...found them in the frozen section...from Edy's...all fruit, the size of 1/2 a twin pop and only 60 calories.
Wanda....please give us a description of the incident at the beach! Was there a flash-flood? Or was it a wreck? Everyone was okay, right???
Oh cool, Hedgie...hope someone makes an appearance for you!
Hi, Paula, Lynn and Sharon. I got the front yard mowed, only 87 out so I quick got it done. Now I am cooling down before I clean up. I hope to get more done in the AM if the grass is dry enough. No rain since Monday, but it is still humid out.
Andrea, good luck on the test.
Lynn, have a great nest visit. Is your sister behaving an better?
OK, i see Shirley went to Kings Dominion...
Sharon - I'm not at the beach, but I am going out of town for Sat & Sun...
Baby bug zipping around the web, can't tell if it was a baby Spidey or not.
Paula, sounds like you have done the parasailing! Neato!
Oh, forgot to mention saw my first lightening bugs tonight! Is it Anne Marie that has never seen them?
I can't remember who it was for sure, but think you are right. I haven't looked yet this year, will have to check and see if they are out here.
Paula, are you going somewhere for fun this weekend?
Deb, got a half-hearted apology this afternoon. As we are so fond of saying...it is what it is---or isn't, as the case may be! Only one more day to cope....wish mom could just stay longer!
Yes, actually I am!
Hedgie - is tomorrow their last day here?
Well, it is better than nothing I guess, Lynn. I totally understand family issues, but it is my dad's wife that we have to deal with. :(
Good for you, Paula, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hoping that Lib, Belle and Hidey put in an appearance while we're there...will be awfully disappointed if they don't!
Haven't been on a balloon ride yet, that would be fun too. Have been in a small 4 seater plane, but no rolls and stuff!
Yep, Paula...they leave Fri. am to head back to Missou.
I've been seeing a few lightening bugs for a couple of weeks....thought the rains had done them in...but they are out tonight in greater numbers than I've seen so far.
It is just about dark here, will go see if they are out here. It is hot and humid enough for them to be out.
Helicopter ride would be neat too...haven't done that!
The lightening bugs may have been out here too...tonight was the first night I really noticed them.
Had your Mom and Sis been here one week or two? I'm losing track of the time!
I haven't done either ballon or para-sailing. Both look fun to me.
I have fireflies, too! Now it is officially summer!
Time for me to read and relax. Night everyone.
Good night, Deb.
It was a week Monday night, Paula.
Night, Deb...sleep tight!
back from dinner and the boardwalk, company leaving tomorrow, heading for a visit to Annapolis, and taking dinner to the M&M's girls...Ceil, Jay did not go, he had a conference call, and the para-sailing people took the pics.....
good night and prayers for all:), next thing on my list is to jet ski:)
Jet skiing sounds like fun, too.
What did you send the girls for dinner Mits?
Paula, I answered your e-mail.
No, thanks.
Mits, congratulations on your parasailing adventure!
My daughter and grandson will be going to the zoo tomorrow. I told them to check out the flamingos.
We saw lightning bugs tonight before we left Kings Dominion.
Paula, I was wondering about the SC gov. Thanks for filling me in. His first story really sounded fishy.
Hi all,
Hedgie, hope the last day will be at least somewhat less stressful.
Judie
Shirley, sent you back an email. Sounds like you had fun...get some rest!
Oh Hello and Good Night for those on the verge of heading for the pillows. No blankies needed tonight!
Some of the Magical Morgan County lighning bugs must have headed out to other corners...I have been seeing them up there for weeks. Glad the rest of you are now too !
Did anyone see the Newborn Moon tonight? Exquisite!
I might get up for the 3:21 am viewing of ISS, will be almost as bright as Venus.... Paula got me hooked on that about this time last year! ☺
Thanks, Paula. I chases a 29-year-old and an 8-year-old all over Kings Dominion. Am weary.
I do hope Andrea's exams go well. I am sure they will.
Hey Margy, how are ya doing?
I tried to look for the Pipsissewa flowers that Wanda got seeds from when I was going through Spruce Pine Hollow this afternoon, kinda hard to see much at 55 mph. A slower journey off the road at the roadside park will probably do the trick. If I didn't spell that right, I hope I came close !
Aaaaaaaaah Kings Dominion, went there one time many years ago, and since my three companions went on the roller coaster, I did too. Then I was hooked on that!
LOL Margy, I finally have my AC on...will probably sleep under the blankets tonight!
Doing well, Paula, Thanks! Late catch on here together! Wow, you get a week-end of fun coming up. It's about time !!!
The moon--I told my grandson that you could call the moon tonight a "fingernail moon;" he said, "I'd call it a "crescent moon," Grandma.
I hate to mention this because it is not very "Green" - but I still use my heated blanket - and the AC - bad me.
and I bet you put those air conditioners in all by yourself, didn't you Paula ??
Must be Eagle Power !
Wow , check out BWO - adult and baby both visible....cam is on good night for the night. ☺
Cute, Shirley....how old is the tyke?
Looks like summer has finally arrived! YAY!
He is 8, Margy.
My grandson James, age 9 - likes the moon too! Wonder why....
And yes, I put them in myself!
I think kids are just naturally curious. It is really good to encourage those interests. You never know what they might end up doing.
I have to say goodnight to all of you fine folks. I am having trouble finding the right keys on the keyboard.
Bocce is a fun game too !
TTFN xoxo God Bless Us Every One
(Not disappearing for good, just for awhile. )
P.S. Hi, Margy! You are not alone--- use electric blankie when the AC is on sometimes, too!
And forgot to say that both of my girls were here for dinner tonight, so that helped relieve the tension! Bye-e-e-e!
That is when he's not working!
Ah, duct tape I bet Paula...
it worked at the nest, so I hope it works on the accordian thingy things.
My Dad would repair things with scotch tape and staples, he was not much of a mechanic, bless his heart! But he was very smart and played ALL kinds of games with all us kids, and invented a bunch of them too.
xoxox ♥
Out of duct tape, otherwise I would have used that. Had to use packing tape!
Never played Bocce ball too much...
Gnite, Shirley!
Love it when wonders of nature wow the kids!
Gonna hit it here too, another busy day tomorrow.
Have fun tomorrow, Hedgie.
Hugs to all! ♥
Good Night All
Peace to you & yours
Prayers for all needs being said
((((hugs)))) ♥
I have a lot of catching up to do on here. Haven't been on this new thread. Visited GeeGee today.
I see where Helen actually went Parasailing. I thought she was kidding. YOU GO GIRL!!
Lynn, the wreck at the beach was from stoopidity. Driving around mud-bogging...came across this standing water and thought they could make it through. There were two trucks mud-bogging, Karla was in the second truck...Dustin was in the one that got stuck. If you look at the second photo, you can see him in a red shirt, bailing out of the truck. He said he had so much fun, that he will remember this day forever:)
Hope your nest visit is a fun one. I love it there...it's almost magical.
Yes, Anne-Marie is the one who has never seen lightning bugs. She is leaving on a trip with 2 grandkids around the southwest and will be looking for cowboys. I told her all we saw were Indians:)
PAULA...have a great time this weekend. I hope you will not be going to Argentina;)
MARGY, I got the Pipsissewa many years ago, before we built our house, and planted them under our pine trees, because that is their habitat. This is the first time I have seen them bloom. Wet weather may have something to do with it, or I just was in the right place at the right time.
Sandman is calling me.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
GOOD NIGHT FROM LOLLY, TOO:)
Hi, fellow eaglet watchers,
I got home from school a little early tonight.
G'Night Andrea.....sounds you are really working the grey matter!
Sleep Sweetly...and I hope you don't dream about your studies !
xox
Well, I don't see too much to comment on this evening....
** GOOD NIGHT **
** EVERYBODY **

Good Morning All..
It's a new day and am hoping to catch a glimpse of Hidey this morning. I can hear her.. or at least I think it is her...

Good morning, eagle gang!

MEGAN---I would rather walk the APPLACHIAN TRAIL than go to ARGENTINA!!---ho!
Morning all.
Hidey a no show for me again this am.
Anyone watching the NORFOLK site?--They are moving & moving the cam all over the place--think they are trying to find the 'REBEL' IMPS----
MORNIN' GRANNY BLT!---OH YEAH!---We can learn lots of things from our grand-kids!!!---DID YOU TAKE NOTES!---ho!-- I learned they don't have lighting bugs in FL!!
Hope everyone has a blessed day
Beautiful sunny day at the FINLAND NEST!----OSPREY MOM is looking lovingly at her CHICKS--They are sleeping in the sun!!---aaaw!--LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Merry Half Christmas!
MORNIN' LYNN2---I think that is GRANNYBLT going to the AVAIRY today in Pittsburgh!!----She lives in PA--
Hey Norma, Merry Half Christmas to You!!! hahaha!
We had cloud last night so I couldn't see the moon. I like to try to find stuff in they sky, too. I use a website called SkyandTelescope.com
NORMA!! sorry, I really need a cheat sheet....Margy is the sky person!
Good morning everyone! The sun is shining brightly this morning and we are headed to the 90's.
Mornin' Deb, out there on the plains! Merry Half Christmas to you!
They say we are heading for 90 today as well.

WHOA MITS!!--Did you read that I think you have SPUNK!---Remember--I love SPUNK!---ho!
Have classes at WELLNESS CTR--must start dressing----nothing tomorrow!---maybe I can catch up then---later!
Norma, I'm dripping in spunk, got a whole bunch of things I want to do before I die.....got me a bucket list:)
Mits, I had an experience similar to that at Kure Beach a few years ago. Was going out to the balcony and ran right into the sliding glass door. Face plant. Didn't break the glass though! :)
Talked to the scutter sister at the beach. This is their last full day at the beach! YEAH!
We have had the 90's forecast all week, but clouds helped us out and only had upper 80's.
Merry Half Christmas Sharon and Mits!
Mits, awesome about the parasailing! I'd like to give that a whirl someday when I get back to the beach!
That's funny about the lightning bugs! So far we've had very few here and I wonder if the larva got drowned by all the rain we had?
I put my hand through a glass door once, but that was because I was such a klutz and tripped. I had a few cuts on my wrist.
Off to Walmart, have a great day everyone!
DEB!--You can't be a worse klutz than me!!--& I am not improving with age!! ho!
HIDEY
have not seen Hidey in over a week, looks thin.
Hey, everyone!! Hidey is in the nest!
Our Hidey has quietly shown up.
Maybe losing some baby fat, I hope.
definitely, Deb, going for that older sleeker eagle look.

AMEN:)
Paula, I have sent you an e-mail.
Shirley
Off Hidey flies!
Andrea, people live right under the nest, so it could be repairs on houses or maybe they are doing something on the barn...
I am going to get some mowing done.
BBL
Grass is still wet, I'll give it about 20 minutes and try some more.
Oh what a great way to start the Morning ☺ Reading all the friendly chatter.
Glad a few of you got to see the Kid this morning, I missed it.
Deceased screen, that's funny Mits and I especially like your description of yourself:
Dripping in Spunk - I can believe it!
Aviary in Pittsburgh: I want to go!
Good Morning All! I agree Margy that reading the morning comments beats the morning newspaper!
Getting ready for 'my turn' to have dinner for the Germany Gang. Most of the family is also coming - can't miss being with them for the short time they are here.
Everyone enjoy your day!
Andrea - sounds like you don't sleep very much. That's the life of a student...you are really working those brain cells and typing fingers. Bravo on all your accomplishments and aspirations.
Sharon - I am not at the beach either. Just the little sandy spring runs at Berkeley Springs! So I hope you like me ♥
Lynne2
The waxing moon will be with us for many days to come now, so good luck seeing it tonight maybe.
Megan always lets us know what the moniker is for the Full Moon each month, so in about 12 days we will get that info!
Meteor Showers
The Bootids should "Peak" on the morning of June 27 - but you might catch a few the night before and the night/s following. Got to get up before dawn to catch a look, might or might not produce some good ones.
I'll be working midnight to six so will miss it !
My bucket list today includes a bunch of runaround chores :(
But I hope to cruise the back roads for wildflowers, otherwise often known as Weeds! How insulting!
xoxo TTFN back in a few minutes or so xoxo
I think Deb mows ALL the time. I think we need to buy her some cute little goats or lambs. ☺
Have fun Mema Jo - like I really need to say that!
xoxo
Remember :
Hedgie Lynn and her family will be at the nest around 1:30 and she is going to honk! I won't be here for it but I hope she has an audience and the Royal Family makes an appearance at the Sycamore Palace !
I think Paula mows just as much,if not more. My schedule now is not the best for mowing. If my days off would just be nice, I would be okay.
little bird in the nest stealing leftovers from the nestaurant !
can't tell what it is though...
...was....
Margy I saw that little bird in the nest this morning and it got some left overs.
CNN has just reported that the Appalachian Trail does not lead to Argentina.
Good story, Shirley. I am getting ready for work, I got some mowing done. More to go, it is still wet.
ROFLMBO
DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Shirley
I knew that! lol
Had to comment on that one!
The question is, did the governor of SC know that?
Okay - got my long list, headed out
Shirley - like the LB info, the first ones I saw this season were above the tree tops like twinkly stars, now they are lower to the ground.
Ta Ta to all, on before, now, and later. xoxo
☺ ♥
Morning, all.
Wanda - I can go to Argentina if I want to...or the Appalachain Trail...I'm not married! :):)
I am off, bbl.
Paula, your comment about being single reminds me of something my older son once said. He worked at the White House for a short time during the Clinton administration. I reminded him to watch out for the interns there. His response was that it would appropriate for HIM to date an intern.
Of course, I would want him to be careful about which interns he associated with. . .
Oops-- my clothes dryer beckons. Need to get another wash load in, too. Will BBIALW. :o]
When my Mom turned 40 we lived on a farm in NH- lots of land, barns, etc. but only chickens. Her brother sent her a gift, a truck pulled up and two men lead out
a goat, it had a sign around it's neck, that said Happy Birthday you old goat! My parents had no idea ...they were laughing really hard and then eventually realized, they now owned a freaking goat...my Dad wasn't thrilled, but she ended up talking him into another one months later to keep the first one company. I don't think they ever got even with my Uncle.
Lynne2 & Ceil - what's all this talk about Christmas! :)
LOL Mits at the screen door incident! I have broken a storm door glass, myself.
Thanks, Hedgie = only 15 cents a day for the computer makes me feel better.
Deb - my mowing takes me 2 nights...one each for the front and back...right now have to mow once a week.
"CNN has just reported that the Appalachian Trail does not lead to Argentina." ROFLMAO...thanks, Shirley!
ROFLMAO--I had to Google that one! I am glad you enjoyed is so much.
... enjoyed it so much.
Megan, I love the old goat story. That is what I should have gotten my "old goat sister" for her 50th birthday.
Sharon, did I read recently that you have FOUR dogs!!??
lol....CNN actually reported something factual:)....love the old goat story
hubby and friends have left, headed for a brief visit to Annapolis, and then off to see the M&M girls
Bet you were meaning for me to write a book.
Congrats, Lynne2...you are still a newlywed :) Christmas should be fun.
It was just reported that Farrah Fawcett has passed away. Saw on the news a while ago they had called in the priest for last rites.
