Mema Jo said...

Good Afternoon Bob and all others who will join us in a few. Anxious to open the Contest Results!

Mema Jo said...

WHOO HOO!
Bob Quinn is the BIG TIME WINNER!

Proud to know you! You are da man!

Remind me to take you out to
dinner one evening! I'll even drive
you to the front door!

paula eagleholic said...

OH, Hedgie...you are correct...was thinking our visit w/ Hidey was when he was 11 weeks old...it was when he was 10 weeks old....so Hidey has been flying for 2 weeks now.

We should be seeing Hidey for a couple of more weeks....but the nest visits will diminish in frequency.

paula eagleholic said...

Congrats, Bob!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

YEAH BOB!!!!! You are always a winner with us!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Thanks for the new thread, Steve.

Mema Jo said...

OK eaglet was getting bored in that nest - flew to the Upper Bar for a better view. Hope he stays put until Lolly gets home.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE...
I've been mowing grass before it gets too hot...already too hot.
Jo, that is an excellent idea, to take BOB out to dinner. May I suggest the best meal that they have at the RUM RUNNER? And be sure to ask for Rumplestiltskin as the waiter;)!

hedgie said...

Thanks for new thread, Steve.
Congrats, again, Bob!!! Official results are good cause now everyone knows what we knew!!!!

Bob Quinn said...

Nobody can know everything you guys know. ☺

Mema Jo said...

Don't we as a group have fantastic
inside jokes that mean so much to us!

Mema Jo said...

You're right Bob - just remember that YOU are a part of us! Love Ya!

Mema Jo said...

Bob, I sent Lisa the link to you contest winners' page for the Black Water site and here is her reply....
I'm at NCTC in a class right now, but I'll post it later this evening. Thanks!

Bob Quinn said...

I hope Lisa is going to do a nest visit.

hedgie said...

Is this Lisa's first visit to NCTC? Probably NOT! Hope Hidey blesses her with an appearance!

stronghunter said...

Hi,

Finished moving books, etc., and students have gone home for the day, so I know they're not testing now, so I am just checking in briefly. I thought I heard Hidey a minute ago.

Hello to Jo if you're still here and to anyone else who's on right now.

I think I am hearing something. Ducks? I am sitting near the air condidioner and it is hard to hear anything except the blowers.

stronghunter said...

Hello, Hedgie.

stronghunter said...

and Bob. Congratulations, Bob.

Mits said...

Booyah...Bob:)

Mema Jo said...

Hi Shirley - you may be hearing the geese - plenty of them on the NCTC grounds.

Lisa was in a class - told that had we known she was there we could have met her for a lunch visit in the cafe!

Mema Jo said...

Put your feet up Shirley and take a panda nap. Clearing a classroom is WORK! Do you by any chance put up bulletin boards for the new year?

Mits said...

Lynn you have mail.

Mits said...

family left this a.m., next guests come in Saturday:)

Mits said...

panda nap sounds good:)

deb said...

Lunch time here, so I am home for a bit. The rain has stopped for now, sure hope it is done.

Mits said...

Hi Deb, glad you are back home

deb said...

Me, too, Helen!

Congrats, Bob, your pictures deserve the recognition you received!

stronghunter said...

Jo, no bulletin board work today! I am still trying to find out where my room will be next year. I may find out tomorrow, or I may find out in August.

I will be ready for a panda nap. A surprising amount of teaching involves physical labor.

stronghunter said...

It looks peaceful in OK.

hedgie said...

Hostage situation is over....but don't know how it ended. Will check some sites and see if anything revealed yet to media.

hedgie said...

Neighbors report hearing 8 gunshots and an ambulance rushed by Ch. 25 news crew....that's all it says.

stronghunter said...

That does not sound good, Hedgie.

hedgie said...

Family members heard shouting "she's dead". Not the outcome hoped for, needless to say. Prayers for her, her child and the rest of her family.

deb said...

Back to work for me, bbl.

Mema, could you repost that link, please, did not open. I don't really want to read this. Thanks

Mema Jo said...

The water level at the OK site looks to be getting higher!

Mema Jo said...

Will do! I sure did something incorrectly.

Going to fold some of Monday's Laundry - Wash day was always a Monday when I was a kid - a long time ago. As long as it wasn't raining that you couldn't hang out the clothes on the line! Thank goodness for automation but then I wouldn't have those memories of the old wringer washers and wooden clothes pins! lol

wvgal_dana said...

Thank you ALL for the prayers please continue them ty.

We are hanging in there with the Lord surrounding us. More test and results to come.

Oxygen man just left here again. They have been the best. We have had Gateway since 2002.

floralgirl said...

I've been in the garden, sorry, forgot to check in....
Yes, Dana, how is ED?

floralgirl said...

Glad to hear it, Margy:) snaps are one of my favorites, too.

wvgal_dana said...

Oh Jo I remember the wringer washer..as a kid my hair was down to my butt. Mom walked away from washer. I wanted to help, so I put some clothes through the wringer. Problem being my hair was with the clothes. Thank goodness Mom heard me screaming. Got me out of that fix.

Mema Jo said...

Dana Do you remember the rinse water that was blue? I forget what that was for!

I have been thinking of you and Ed constantly, gal. Hope you can get some help there in the house and with the things you need to do. Holler!

Mits said...

blue rinse water was for whiter whites....RINSO

wvgal_dana said...

If I remember right the blue rinse water had something to do with the "whites".

Thanks Jo we are ok here in house. Outside he has always hired a man to mow. Inside not that much and on days I can't do. God just closes his eyes lol So I figure everyone else can do lol

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

YEAH BOB!!!!! You are always a winner with us!

Parent just arrived with a big fish. I think I hear Hidey!

Mema Jo said...

That's good to hear, Dana. But you know some of us are close enough to help if needed!

RINSO BLUE! Thanks Mits & Dana!
Now that you told me I remember!
I was thinking just the White clothes.

paula eagleholic said...

Mema Jo said...

There goes Hidey
Dragging the catch of the day
Sure looks like a catfish to me...

paula eagleholic said...

That's a nice fish!

Whatcha wanna bet Hidey will still want a bedtime snack...

wvgal_dana said...

I think she knows we can't see very well under that smudge

magpie said...

That's what I get, make myself do work around the house and missed the drama! Nice to see our feathered friend/s.
Glad to see Hidey has learned to talon and drag his food - his Mother taught him well..

Best wishes for a Great Evening, folks. I'm going to find a child to hug.

xox Prayers for Wellness, Comfort, and Safety....

Mema Jo said...

Oh yes Paula - this is an early dinner
Come 7:30 or so Hidey will want her bedtime snack!

wvgal_dana said...

Finney's nest just brought in a orange fish. Feeding chicks.

Mema Jo said...

I was watching the OK eaglet - thinking that he sure looked warm.
Checked down below the cam pic and the temp is 92° and feels like 100°
Now that is HOT even for a Bird sitting over the water with no shade whatsoever!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, I got a picture today of the flicker sticking its head out of the hole in the tree today. My computer won't read the card so I will take it out Sissy's in a little while. They are not having to fight for their nest anymore! YEAH!

Mema Jo said...

Hidey is really ripping into that fish!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I hope you are still Margy. The drama is ongoing with this one!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Buphals is laying over here on the bed trying to figure out what that noise is! I told him it was just our little Hidey! :)

wvgal_dana said...

I see 2 chicks head and maybe a smaller head??

wvgal_dana said...

What a "screamer"!!! That eaglet doesn't need any oxygen....has good lungs lol

Mema Jo said...

Was that really Hidey making all that noise? What in the world?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

She is a drama queen, I tell ya!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

or He is a Drama King, whichever! :)

Mema Jo said...

I think "SHE" is. lol

Mema Jo said...

I am going to dream something up for our dinner. It is really in the crock pot and just about ready.

Back to fixing dinner........

magpie said...

Do we need to organize a Pity Party ???

xoxo TTFN xoxo

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

I think that is exactly what we need to do. Can we have it at the barn?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Isn't the nesting season (where it is marked off around the sycamore tree) over July 4?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, now, that was the longest piece of spaghetti I have ever seen. Went from one side of the nest to the other. YUCK!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Oh, wow, I got wax!

wvgal_dana said...

Going to go to the mailbox and then fix dinner bbl

Mema Jo said...

Way to go Wax Queen

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

She was just doing that scratching her butt thing on the nest again. Did anyone else see it?

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Eagle-Eyed Sharon and Hidey, the Queens of Wax and Drama!

Mema Jo said...

Off to a bakery to order cake for Sunday's homecoming and Father's day..

BBL

paula eagleholic said...

Nope, Sharon, have not seen the eaglet butt scratching thingy.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Well, Paula, I was hoping you were recording it so everybody could see it! :)

deb said...

I am home from work and should be mowing. My grass is really long, but it will just have to wait for tomorrow.

deb said...

Hidey was making a little noise, but is quiet now. Off to feed the dogs and figure out what I am going to eat.

Costume Lady said...

For those of you who have never seen Jo's Great Grandchildren...I have posted photos of them on my SMILES:):). They are BEAUTIFUL children, not an ugly one in the bunch! But then, what else could we expect for MEMA JO'S genes;)

stronghunter said...

Goodness, we had a naked snowman yesterday. Now we nave butt-scratching eagles. Wha nest?

stronghunter said...

I mean, what next? I am still half asleep. This is my naptime.

stronghunter said...

Really, I am just drinking mint-flavored tea. Nothing stronger.

hedgie said...

Still waiting to hear from the travelers....supposed to call when they get to Martinsburg...still up in air whether they are going to come here after checking in at The Woods or whether I'm going there.
Trying to chill, but excited...snoozed a little off and on late afternoon.
Deb, grass probably too wet to mow tonight anyway! Relax, girlfriend! It will be there tomorrow....and don't think you would need a baler yet, LOL!

wvgal_dana said...

I remember reading in somewhere comments. About Lolly's grandson going to a school and someone else on here might have a grandson going to same school. Maybe best of friends. What ever happened in that situation?

hedgie said...

Nice photos you put up, Wanda. Jo's little ones are precious, just like she is!

stronghunter said...

Wanda, Dana, Hedgie, Sharon and Jo--Good evening. I have been napping and reading again.

I see that the OK eaglet is exercising its wings.

It looks like that green barber pole thingy goes one direction sometimes and the other way other times. Wonder why.

paula eagleholic said...

Must be some strong mint, Shirley!

paula eagleholic said...

Dana - they don't have an answer yet!

paula eagleholic said...

I am chillin' tonight...couldn't get to sleep last night...between accidently finding Lonesome Dove on and that singing cardinal that Megan sent over here...

hedgie said...

Dana, Andrea still hasn't heard back from her niece...she was away for the weekend, had to work today, and Andrea has class this evening....MTBR!

stronghunter said...

Regular grocery-store tea bags, but it helps to have the lights on so I can see the keyboard. Got darker in here while I was napping.

stronghunter said...

MTBR? I have figured out most of the other ones, but don't know what that means.

Lolly said...

Hi all! Another day and OK did not fledge. Looks like OK is settling in for the night. Adult on the bar. Did I tell you....the other night one of our guests told us about seeing a bald eagle near his place. He said when he first saw it he thought a hawk or buzzard was carrying a styrafoam cup. Then he realized it was a white head of a bald eagle!

wvgal_dana said...

Thanks for the info. on that. I try to keep up with comments. If not then I'll have to catch up when can.

stronghunter said...

Yes, I have been following the preschool story, too. Guess we have to wait a little longer.

Lolly said...

We had a great day! However, it was very hot! Dinosaur World was really neat. Then we went to Dinosaur Valley State Park. Ate lunch in the van with the AC on. Then went down to the river to see the tracks, but it was just way too hot to really enjoy it. River was way down so crossing was easy. You cross the river on rocks to see the tracks.

Came home and the boys played on the slip and slide and in the little pool we have for them. They really have fun on the slip and slide!

stronghunter said...

I've been watching the OK eaglet, too. It really looks larger than the parent tonight.

Costume Lady said...

Shirley maybe you need a LONG ISLAND ICED TEA...It'll clear your head;)

stronghunter said...

Hi, Lolly. Those grandchildren sound precious.

stronghunter said...

Wanda, do you really think so?

Lolly said...

Oh, they are precious! We are enjoying them so much!

paula eagleholic said...

MTBR = More To Be Revealed

Costume Lady said...

Tee Hee...No, Shirley! Has too many liquors in it. Probably give you an instant headache:)

stronghunter said...

Thanks, Paula.

Lolly said...

These guys won't be little long. I am enjoying them being little, or should I say "young"? Their dad is 6'6" and mom is 5'll". Grandmommy is 5' 9". LOL They are on their way to be long tall dudes. Already are for their ages!

stronghunter said...

Probably put me to sleep for the rest of the night.

Costume Lady said...

That may not be so bad, Shirley...to go to sleep for the rest of the night. Nothing good on TV.

stronghunter said...

Yeah, I'm watching CNN and they're talking about Palin and Letterman.

Costume Lady said...

Lolly, tall is good, but my Grandson has to bend over to hug me now and I can't seem to get used to that. It was just yesterday that I would pick him up to kiss and hug him:(

stronghunter said...

Deep analysis on the subject.

Costume Lady said...

Enjoy them while you can, Lolly. They grow up so quickly. I am so pleased that Dustin, at 15, still comes to visit. When he gets his drivers license, it will be SEE YA GRANDMA!

stronghunter said...

American Idol has started auditions again.

paula eagleholic said...

I hear ya Wanda...the kids are taller than I am...the grandkids shorter...I am enjoying picking them up and giving them hugs!!

hedgie said...

Okay, mom and sis are near...I'm going to hotel. BBL.....maybe....depends on how late I stay there...probably not very late because I know they are tired.
Bye-e-e-e.

stronghunter said...

Isn't it great to be able to enjoy the grandchildren? I do enjoy mine, and am so fortunate that he is here in town.

stronghunter said...

Bye, Hedgie.

floralgirl said...

OK, I'll have a long island ice tea, please. And Paula, feel free to keep the singing cardinal:)

deb said...

Have fun, Lynn!

stronghunter said...

Hello, Floralgirl.

floralgirl said...

Hello:)

Lolly said...

Time for me to go throw kids into tubs. Joseph will go shower in our bathroom, Jacob will take a bubble bath and then to bed. I am ready to put my feet up. Will be back after baths, story and bedtime. ☺

paula eagleholic said...

Have fun, Hedgie!

stronghunter said...

The OK eaglet is sinking deeper and deeper into the nest.

floralgirl said...

What a shame, it's a nice night, windows all open, and one of my rotten neighbors is burning something that smells like plastic...wish I could figure out which neighbor it was.

Mema Jo said...

Follow your nose, Megan!

Lisa has the link to Bob's Winnings on her eagle page!

floralgirl said...

My nose is burning.....

Mema Jo said...

OK eaglet looks worn out!
The heat of the day has gotten to him.
It is only 89° now with some wind at
13 mph.
Interesting fact concerning the nest:
I have noticed Scissor-tailed Flycatchers in the vicinity
of the nest. As aerial insectivores, they perch on or below the nest and watch for flying insects to
capture in flight.
So, we have the state bird of Oklahoma and our national symbol together at once!

Costume Lady said...

Jo, check out your G-Grandchildren on SMILES:):) They are adorable!

Mema Jo said...

Oops! You did sooooooo good with the photos, Wanda! They are something else-those great grandkids! I left you a comment which said now I will get the 12 grandchildren pics for you! lol
I really need to start a personal blog!
Thank You Wanda!

Mema Jo said...

I was looking at Wild Watch Streaming Cam on the Barn Owls - the info on them is Update June 2009
The barn owls second brood is four young with two distinct age groups. The older two birds are approximately 1 month old while the second group is about 1 week old.

That is a very odd combination...

Costume Lady said...

It would be my pleasure, Jo, to put your 12 Grandchildren on the blog. BRING EM ON!

Now, question...are Anthony, Joseph, Sophia and Donavon siblings?

stronghunter said...

OK eaglet got refreshed. Now up and flapping.

floralgirl said...

Aw, Jo's g-grandkids are adorable:)
Long day, I'm outa here, night all

Mema Jo said...

I'll say! What a treat to see her finally after several days of empty nest viewing. Seems I always pop in when Hidey is popped out. Probably out of the nest more than in these days :(

She is plundering around for nestovers this morning!

Lori O. said...

YEAH! Hidey's back!!! What a wonderful site at any time, but it sure gets a morning off to a great start.
