Trying to get the house in some sort of order for the upcoming work week. I needed a week to catch up after a week's vacation! It is good to be home.
Looks like the Black Stork nest is finally getting activity. Fabric pieces are gone, and definite nestorations obvious. Maybe there's hope there yet!

Hidey has really been vocal today.
Went to check out the new Wegmans grocery store. Supposed to be the biggest Wegmans in the country. It's about the size of a shopping mall.
Don't know why they built such a huge store here in Fredericksburg, but it was crowded. Things were hoppiin'. I spent most of my time just looking around.

Harris Teeter--That is supposed to be a very nice store, too.
I'm just happy that I remembered my coffee. I was completely out; had to stop for some iced coffee at McDonalds before I could go on.
It gave me the required boost.
Of course, they serve all kinds of food at Wegmans, but McDonalds was okay.
I just hope this community will support this store. Being near I-95will help, but maybe a risky time to open up a fancy grocery store. They obviously gave lots of people jobs.

Co-workers have been feeding a couple of stray cats at the office, and the other night, we had a raccoon visit as well, now we have not been seeing the cats as often....

Lynn our Wegman's is about 20 miles from us. We are suppose to get a Harris Teeter in fall 2010 but they have stopped building on that site. That is only a quarter of a mile from me. I was looking forward to it.

Got me a week off in mid-July - going to plan an Amtrak trip to Western Massachusetts to visit my sister, planning on taking the grandson along! She has rose-breasted grosbeaks up there, and purple finches - and Black Bears !

I am caught up on the blog. I took a few pictures, Margy, but the wind came up and I really didn't get to see much. I did see a Flicker, but it was on the ground, not in a nest. I saw a head poking out of a Bluebird house. I think it was a House Sparrow. I will download the pictures pretty soon.

I saw lots of baby geese, maybe I should say teen-age geese, three baby Grebe's. I am waiting for the picture to load to see what kind they were. I hope it turns out, they wouldn't come close.

I was checking the Black stork cam in Estonia last night & they haven't recorded seeing Padis (male) since May. Boo..They have lots of lovely picture links on their news page. I was in awe seeing the trees blowing at the nest when you consider how far away that is----N. of Greece!!!
Speaking of that---friend of mine came over to get something I bought her there & sat at 'puter to look at pics for about 1 1/2 hours!!! I haven't begun to figure out how to put them in web album. I want to start w/one of those digital pic frames I got for Xmas.

Job done. Miss Cinnamon managed to sneak her way out around my legs and a bag....luckily, I had the truck out to haul everything out to road...she thought that meant a bye-byes ride, so she stopped at the truck---I opened the door and she stood still for me to lift her in. I think they have changed Ms Goose's outfit at least 3 times within the last 2 days. She had patriotic - then rain gear and now her dressy dress and bonnet.
Anyhow you have the http, it is pretty neat. Gives you a score, tells you what you are good at and that you could move up to a higher #'er it gives.

I'm Back!!
I took a quick weekend trip to New York this weekend! I stayed with Deb (Harpo) and her hubby Gary and dog Trinity on Long Island! Jeanne from upper New York State came also! We met up with Carole (Naturegal) from the CHIL forum from Canada. She and her hubby were visiting his sister on Long Island. They were about 15 minutes from Deb and Gary, so when I found out she was visiting, I made the trek up to meet her in person. I've been talking with her for 3 years on the CHIL forum, what a lovely really nice, fun and sweet lady she is! And her husband just cracked everyone up.
We went out to dinner last night, had a great evening. Puttered around Long Island today, and came back this afternoon. It was a long trip, but as you know, it is always fun to meet up with other eagleholics, it's such a special bond! I didn't want to post anything on here beforehand, as it was surprise for Carole that I was coming up to visit.
Hope everyone here is doing well, I'm not caught up on the blog at all!
Just back. Checked OK nest and eaglet was on bar above nest and adult flew in to join him/her. I put their pic on blog.

Good evening everyone. I just got home from the ER with Justin and Becky. A neighborhood kid beat Justin up. He has a gash on his scalp, road rash on his back and head, scraped up elbow and scraped knee. Pressing charges tomorrow. I hate it so bad.

Loretta,that is the black storm cam that I keep an eye on. Where do you find the info about it? Like I said earlier today, the nest has changed...it is much more kempt and edges more built up---like a small fort!
Maybe they work in the dark!! Will try to keep a closer watch to see if I see the birds.

Those people have been a menace to our neighborhood since they moved in and we can't get anyone to do anything. Maybe if Becky presses charges, it will help, but I don't know. Norma I had an only son and he was tiny. I went after the bully's and threatened them. Left him alone. Could have gotten into a lot of trouble. One time in school one tried to trip him down the stairs. Teacher caught him. Made him stay inside. I used to be a lunch mother. One day two boys got into a fight. One went to kick the other one. My leg got in the way. Saw stars.

I saw where Darryl Hannah and former WV rep Ken Hechler and about 30 other were arrested in Southern WV for a Mountaintop Removal Protest! Way to go, I would like to be arrested for that kind of protest ! At this age, what would a little criminal history do to hurt me?
-The grand-kids (3) are coming to MD & I hope WV for a mo (7/4) with their DAD!!--both parents remarried---That leaves 2 grand-kids at home!!----DAVIN does a wonderful job--teaching & 5 kids too!---

Norma, I used to have a bully after me for years. When I was in grade school, my Mother made all my clothes and they were very pretty. Well this bully would push me down everytime she got a chance, to get me dirty, because she was jealous. I was scared to death of her...Finally, one day I got tired of her threats and punched her as hard as I could. She went home crying and told her Mother that I hit her with a rock. Maybe she thought I did, because I hit her so hard...but she never bothered me again;)

Dear friend of mine was on a company-sponsored canoe trip to Romney recently ,and saw lots of Eagles!!
Learned overnight that Amtrak is upgrading the Northeast Corridor rail lines and my train might not go all the way to Massachusetts, have to go on-line to check.
Oh well, there are always buses and other ways to put the last part of it together....

And Justin is such a little feller. Donna worked really hard to try to get him over 100 pounds. I was looking at him last night and his belly pooches a little and I told him DoaDoa would be so proud of that.
He tries so hard sometimes to act so tough and then when he is here, he will watch The Land Before Time.
Maybe Megan is sleeping in this morning...Yah, right!
