Good Morning All! Sounds like most of you have started your day! The 3 Duke Farm eaglets are in the nest as is the OK eaglet up on his bar! Our nest is MT right now - hopefully I'll get to see our Hidey later in the day.
Everybody officially has permission to like everybody whether they are at the beach or not! :) My baby flickers are sticking their heads out of the tree again. The pic I have on here of them Justin took. He is our photographer and is really good at it. Might just be his calling! :)
MORNIN' MEMA JO!---I can't figure out what our 'BABY' is doing---when I logged on this am---she was in the nest---'not saying a twitter'----SHE WAS ACTING VERY STRANGE!!! ho!
Yeah, I'm sleeping in....uh huh...Actually, I was hiking on the Appalachian trail, er no, I was riding along the coast of Argentina, ALONE...uh really I've just been working in the garden all morning....so HELLO :)
Sharon, that flicker picture is just wonderful! What a great shot to catch them all looking out. So sorry to read about Justin. Hope he is doing ok this morning.
Sharon got the e-mail. Answered. Justin did a great job. One more story about bulley's. When son was little taught him not to hit girls. Second grade watched this one girl hit him and trip him all the time. Told him in front of her mother. HIT HER. I'm bad. She never touched him again.
06/29/09: Cam Stoppage We see the cams have stopped. We're working on the issue. Also, we've changed the cam to 20-second updates so the chick is easier to see.
Contest Alert We have opened the 2009 Chick-Naming Contest. Help us name our tough little chick.
06/29/09: We've added two final Eagle Cam videos to our YouTube Channel (first two videos on the page). The clips show our eaglets as they were in the midst of fledging.
Technical Note Although we normally turn off the Eagle Cam at this time of year, we're presently leaving it on at 5-minute updates.
Good morning, Eagle dudettes and dudes! #1 comment: Margy, I think you'd better think again about protesting!!! You could lose your job if you were arrested! #2 comment: Sharon, I LOVE The Land Before Time, too!! Glad to hear that Justin is up and about...bet he is really sore, poor kid! Is this the neighbor next to you who is so cruel and nasty?
Did you hear that Gale Storm died at 87? You youngsters probably don't remember her....I vaguely remember My Little Margie--I was only about 4 when it came on; recall The Gale Storm Show better---think The Love Boat was a kind of revival of that show. Wasn't Gale Gordon on it with her?? And Zazu (sp?) Pitts??
Just found the remnants of a robin's egg on the ground---under a tall tree. Hope the new little one(s) isn't scared off the nest prematurely. Don't imagine we'll hear anything form Dana until later this afternoon. Think they will have to keep Ed for at least several hours to make sure that lung does not deflate.
yes Ceil, he was a cutie.....so were the guys on the para-sail boat last week...one guy said he liked me, I had spunk...lol....everyone else was quiet on the boat, not me:)
Paula, what a great weekend, Long Island is a neat place, did you have any lobster roll sandwiches....one of the best I have every eaten was on Long Island
Late Morning Everyone ☺ Sharon, how awful about Justin! Hope he is better today and every day.
Fubby saw our flicker in her hole this morning. THEN, starlings came around the tree. When she left, some have been checking out her nesthole. ARRGGHH! I wish she was ready to lay eggs and would just stay in there. And where's Mr. F???? Gotta work outside before it's too hot.
Ah-ha!! Madoff sentenced to 150 yrs. Good judge! Lobster roll sounds awfully good.....how is it made, Mits? You...spunky??? LOL---I can agree that you ARE!!! It shows in your eyes. You go gal!
Well, Jim, while checking out the Storm shows, don't see any mention of Gale Gordon----so guess I was only remembering the Ball sitcoms. But was right about Zasu Pitts----couldn forget a strange name like that!
Lynn I am not a lobster fan but love lobster roll. It is cut up and a little mayo in it on a toasted bun that looks like a hot dog roll. Delicious Do love lobster bisque. An I just ate lunch. Going for a walk. BBL
I have a good idea. Wanda and Gene could get in the Eagle Express, drive to each of our homes and pick us up and all go to the beach together with the exception of Sissy since she has already been. :) I will bring the bread and bologna.
I just came in from the garden and have enough salty sweat on me, that I feel as if I've been in the ocean. Might even be a little sand between my toes;)
Instead of staking our tomatoes this year, in the traditional way, we're putting up a plastice wire fence and will tie the plants to the wire as they grow. When they are rip, anyone who wants some are welcome to come and get them. Just you all, not all of Berkeley County. LOL
I've finally sort of caught up on the blog-- was MIA yesterday. Got a lot of studying done, though.
Sharon, so sorry to hear about what happened to Justin!! God bless him! Prayers being said for that situation, for sure. I hope you have taken pictures of Justin's injuries, too-- it could be important.
While I'm thinking of it, prayers being said for Kendra, too-- and her family.
Hope we hear from Dana later regarding Ed's test today. Remembered about them this morning, and have been praying for a good outcome.
Gosh, it's looking a little wild and windy at the nest! Hope I get to see Hidey sometime today.
Gotta get busy and send out some resumes. Will BBIALW. Have a great day, everyone! :o]
Hedgie, I remember Gale Gordon on the Lucy show for years, but he wasn't a regular on the original "I Love Lucy" show.
There were quite a few great comedies on TV in those days...not just "The Honeymooners" and "I Love Lucy." Those two were probably the best though, and I still get a kick out of them when I see an episode.
Remember "Private Secretary" with Ann Southern or that Navy sitcom with Jackie Cooper?
Oh, yes, Jim. I do remember Ann Southern. I thought she would have been so beautiful if....and I can't remember what that "if" was. Eyelashes too long or lipstick too dark...something like that. Of course, I was just a baby;)
How about Mr. Bubbles himself...Lawrence Welk. My Mom still watches that show on Saturday nights. It is the ONLY TV she ever watches. She can't hear well enough and TV aggrevates her, but she can hear Lawrence Welk. She has probably memorized the words and music from evryone.
Oh yeah, Wanda. But 'Larry' wasn't in the comedy set I was thinking of.
Believe it or not, my Mom (maybe Dad too) attended at least one dance in Sioux Falls, SD ... Deb's turf... which featured Lawrence Welk and his band. It was in 1936 or 1937 before Moms and Dads got married and before Lawrence Welk made it big, and a bunch of kids pooled cars and drove across the Minnesota/South Dakota border to the dances.
It was one of the few big, fun things they could do in those farming areas ... and during the Depression. Sounds like fun even today too.

Adult osprey just flew in at Finney nest. Suzanne sends beautiful pics around on emails of this nest & its occupants. They surely are growing well.
I don't know if there are more than 3 flickers but that is all that will fit in the hole.
Sharon got the e-mail. Answered.
Justin did a great job.

LATER KIDS!----Yeah HEDGIE!---I do remember 'my little margie'---ho!--had her paper dolls!!---(those were the days) ho!
Well, Hedgie. I was older and watched "My Little Margie" every week, plus I think it was in rerun for a long time...
I can't for the life of me remember much about the show right now...except that it was very funny.
Maybe there is something on the INet that will bring it back.

Ed is going for lung test today.
No Mits, we had Italian for dinner. Had mussels in a white sauce over angel hair pasta. I'll have to check that out next time.
OH, OK, thought something else was happening.
There is a little on Gale Storm and her shows if you Google for them.

Paula,Ed was having a needle biopsy of a lung nodule this am. Can be a risky procedure.
Well, Jim, while checking out the Storm shows, don't see any mention of Gale Gordon----so guess I was only remembering the Ball sitcoms. But was right about Zasu Pitts----couldn forget a strange name like that!
Loretta, I had the same issue with starlings. They took over the nest, had their babies, left and the flickers moved in.
Good afternoon . . . I have been reading your blogs this morning.
Prayers for Ed and his family.
God bless Justin.
Sharon, take pictures of the injuries. You might need them.
Must go do some housecleaning.
BBL . . .

Now I want Lobster for lunch, LOL!!
Uh yeah, I'll have a lobster roll too.....
Golly Ladies, I do not usually have lobster in my refrigerator. Do you?
I just ate half a peanut butter sandwich. No lobster available.
Thanks, Ceil....guess I have heard of that but have never tried it. Sure would like to! Love lobster! And crab salad, too!
Lobster roll is best when eaten at the beach...and no, I do not have a lobster in my fridge, I just checked.
I wish I did, even if I'm not at the beach!
I have a good idea. Wanda and Gene could get in the Eagle Express, drive to each of our homes and pick us up and all go to the beach together with the exception of Sissy since she has already been. :) I will bring the bread and bologna.
I'll bring the bug repellent and some strawberries ☺
and I'll hit my savings for some lobster rolls.
You always have the best ideas!
But I'm only going if Megan goes !
and I'll pay for a substitute gardneress if you go Megan
Oh yeah, Megan going is a must!
Megan, did you see where I posted that my hot lips are blooming? Need to get pics and post them.
We might have to kidnap her, Sharon...force-feed a vacation on her!
I was up too late and got up too early, so you know what I need to do now: Panda Nap.
TTFN xox Happy Afternoon Wishes
and Love and Hugs to Justin
Nope, I missed that, Sharon. Glad to hear it's blooming:)
No substitute gardener needed, hubby would do just fine.
I'm going back out to the garden....
OK, ladies, be ready in 5 minutes...Eagle Express is on the way;)
I just came in from the garden and have enough salty sweat on me, that I feel as if I've been in the ocean. Might even be a little sand between my toes;)

And when our squash is RIP you can have those too:):)
Everyone is gone...must be waiting on the Eagle Express. Guess I better get Capt. Betterbutt and geta movin!
Wanda, I knew you would be willing and jump right on that. That would be fun, though, wouldn't it??
