I also (on the other blog) thanked you folks that said kind things about ROMNEY & life in a small town!---Also passed on the message to MARIO'S RESTURANT!!---they were delighted!!
MM doctor appointment went well. She goes back in 3 weeks but she can do more but watch the lifting. Wanda and Gene you are so great to us. We just wanted to get you a little something to say thank you. Sorry it took so long to send.
Checked NORFOLK nest---ONE EAGLET just flew over to a branch--another is 'peering' over---but don't think he's ready to branch!! (certainly have moved nest back from camera)--ho!---love the 'REBELS'---seems time is flying ---WANT TO YELL---'just stay another day'!
That would be Thelma and Justin. I thought I had posted on here but maybe I didn't. Justin got Student of Month for April at Bluefield Middle School. So proud!
Happy Weekend...and yes, Normabryd, Marios is my all time favorite...in the winter on a Saturday morning when I get a hankering for CLAM CHOWDER>>>>it's off down 127 to hop on 50 west and up the road we go...and no other restaurant here in the Winchester area comes close...it is worth the drive for us...has been for some time... Well...am shutting down for today...going to Charles Town to meet my daughter and get some weekend errands run. Take care to all and to all a good weekend.
Dana MM did get the drain out two weeks ago. He took the bandages off and said all looks good. One spot is still not healing yet but he is not concerned. Thanks everyone for all your prayers for her. JUSTIN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
DEB---YEP!---I checked!---2 left--I was happy to see them too!!---Every thing is fledging!---pray they SOAR HIGH!---will miss them-- so JOYFUL to watch!!
I have never seen them carry the whole fish in their mouth. How funny. Hidey must be on her way and parent is wanting this little minnow for herself/himself. Well, now parent is back with no fish in beak. Hmmm. That is because it was in his talon. I think this is Lib.
BLUEFIELD SHARON---You are too FUNNY!---CONGRATS! to all your outstanding students---You must be so PROUD!!!---Are you all going to have a CELEBRATION!!!---
Lynne2 - speaking of David Cassidy, I found a Partridge Family record album jacket in the attic at my Mom's last weekend. Don't know what happened to the album...
A 23-year-old rancher whose family has fallen behind in their taxes and recently had a mobile home repossessed has claimed a $232.1 million Powerball jackpot. Neal Wanless, who lives on his family's 320-acre ranch near Mission, bought the winning ticket in the nearby town of Winner late last month during a trip to buy livestock feed. He will take home $88.5 million in a lump sum payment after taxes are deducted.
Wanless says his family has been helped by their community and that he "intends to repay that help many times over."
He said in a statement issued Friday that he plans to continue ranching, albeit on a larger ranch. He says he recently told his horse, Eleanor, that "It'd be nice if we go for a longer ride than usual on a bigger ranch of our own."
I forgot to tell you all---some folks here have been following--- HEIDY aka MIRACLE---& have called to ask if SHE gone? ho!---I think she likes this set-up---'HANGING OUT WITH THE FOLKS & COMING HOME TO EAT!!---ho!---SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!!
Hello everybody, I am happy to see that the nest is still there with all of the storms we have had. I even hear Hidey. I haven't been able to go online for a few days.
Rainy afternoon greetings! Still trying to catch up on comments! Will remark before I finish! *Congrats to Justin for being such a great Kid!! *Norma and Bozzett...my youngest daughter lives in Ranson. *Mariah, Wv and VA are both full of mountain laurel and rhododendron...have NEVER had any luck transplanting from the wild (probably illegal anyway!). *Andrea, Cardinals are our state bird, VA's, too, and a handful of other states. They do seem to prefer evergreens for nesting. They enjoy shelled corn, too! I gave up on birdseed a long time ago....squirrels just throw it everyplace looking for the sunflower seeds, and then it sprouts all over. If I use only sunflower seeds, the sq. empty the feeders in a day! So now everyone gets corn! *Norma, I'm pretty sure that Mine ZThat Bird will win, but I imagine the odds are only going to be 2-1 so won't pay much! Ah, Secretariat...there was a great horse! I'm like Boz---so fearful of having to go through the trauma of another Barbaro situation is just too much to bear.
At WE nest Banding: No one there yet but forum remark says that: I think they will go to the camera first and clean off the lens. At least they have in the past.
Deb, what a wonderful Winner winner story! Glad to hear that it is someone who really deserves a break.....farmers/ranchers definitely are having a hard time. Hope he can buy Eleanor back!
ROGLMBO IF you were watching the great poop shoot at the WE nest - the wind blew everything right back on the eaglets! It was very graphic! Hope the good DR wipes off the eaglets too!
Ceil, glad that MM got another good report. Give her (((hugs))). You are such a good Nightengale. So thoughtful of you two gals to send Wanda and Gene the goodies! I was really shocked when that store opened here...didn't think they would have market enough to make it, but so far they're still open!
thanks Hedgie.. hmmm guess its a good thing I didnt try to pull some up to take home.. I thought about it. Also, thats good to know about the corn. I can satisfy everyone that way. I was trying to give the squirrels peanuts.. but they wanted more
Donka, glad to see you back. See that you are in the town that some of my ancestors first settled in when they came over from Scotland---back when it was just plain Bingham!
That was cool. I have yet to see Hidey take off or arrive untill now. He swooped up from right in front of the nest to see if Dad brought food. I love it!
There is a human side of me that wants to spank Hidey's hiney LOL. I am sitting here watching NCTC and Norfolk cam while I wait for my family to return from Chicago and chuckling at that silly bird yelling and flying all the way in to the nest after parent came with fish. Sort of like "Don't eat it don't eat it...I'm coming...and then thanks now leave and let me eat in peace"!!! I am not worried that Hidey can at least maintain hold on whatever food he/she finds ...got that one down just fine.
don't forget you can put on the full screen for WE...off to take shower and get ready to go to Braddock Heights tonight...jubbys' plane should land in about 20 mins....
Wow this not seeing is terrible...I love watching them with the eaglets. OK WHO was suppose to stay with the camera and do a close up on Dr. Sharpe and crew doing the banding??? Get your wonderful butt back up to the camera please.
Didn't hear the plane, Jo....volume on this netbook is too low to hear much...have it turned up as high as it will go. No, Donka, they all headed to Iowa back in 1880's!
NO Dana, I was on Santa Cruz Island,, where the Pelican Harbor nest is...but most of the islands look like that...very rocky, but then some nice grassy fields too.
I think they have not adjusted their blog time!! Showing 4 hrs. behind us, not 3. Hope Jim has been watching! Not sure if Andrea watches the CA cams or not.
I have an ooey-gooey tale....was letting the dog out--RAIN HAS STOPPED!--and there was a large snail on the bottom of the basement door. Closed the door to go get something to remove it with...and he must have shifted position enough that door sill caught him and CRUNCH! Yucko!
I'm disappointed in this banding as there isn't any audio/video to let us know what is going on. All the other bandings you were right there with them or informed as to what was going on.
maybe thinking this is a more remote area, plus if they are filming a documentary, the people filming probably have the exclusive rights to the footage
jubby is home from Boston...he is getting ready and off to Braddock Heights we will go, celebrating niece's' 8th grade graduation and SIL, 50th BD.....get to see some of the Midwest relatives:)
Heading out...not to work, but to the grandson's - hope to hear the whip-poor-wills again. There are some muskrat pics and Back Creek, on my Feathers, Fur and Misc link to look at while you are watching the grass grow at WE.

I am headed back to work. BBL
what a great story, Deb:)
DEB---I think that is GREAT for WINNER!!----Hope he stays SANE!!
back from the beach:(...rained the whole way....
Bozz - I had Mario's clam chowder...it was good!
WOW,NBG IS GETTING DRENCHED....WHAT A DOWN POUR
I couldn't get NBG up a couple of minutes ago...is there still just 2 in the nest?
Paula, when I looked a few minutes ago, there was one on the branch, now they have moved the cam and one in the nest
Thanks, Mits.
Glad you made it back safely...tomorrow should be nice, rain is supposed to finally stop. Felt like a drowned rat at lunchtime.
All 3 are there, one on the branch, 2 in the nest at Norfolk.
Well we all just missed the eaglet returning to NBG. Flew in at 2:24 and had some fish that a parent had just brought, and then he left again.
the eaglet at WE sounds like a squeaky wheel
Kewl, Thanks, Donka and Mits.
Welcome, Donka!
Mits, I'm not sure if that's the eaglet or something else...I keep hearing it too.
Did anybody see Lib in our nest a while ago with the fish in his mouth?
Sharon, I have seen them leave with fish or prey in their beak. Don't recall if I have seen them arrive like that.
Thank you Paula, glad to be on board!!
Didn't come in with it in his beak, just left twice with it in his beak. Not sure what the game plan was though.
Great Job Justin!
You can do well all the time!
Proud of you!
((hugs)) ♥
Deb that was a rewarding story about the powerball winner! Sounds very deserving and also has the right priorities!
That squeakly noise isn't the eaglet...
Watching the West End Kids
Just perched there in the nest and
waiting patiently
Awe Maria, cute dog!
Hello everybody, I am happy to see that the nest is still there with all of the storms we have had. I even hear Hidey. I haven't been able to go online for a few days.

ROGLMBO IF you were watching the great poop shoot at the WE nest - the wind blew everything right back on the eaglets! It was very graphic! Hope the good DR wipes off the eaglets too!
Norma, did you notice a couple of days ago that a new poster named wanda who lives in Utah was born and partly grew up in Romney?
You all figure out where I
Rolled On..... To Laugh My Butt Off lol
Ceil, glad that MM got another good report. Give her (((hugs))). You are such a good Nightengale. So thoughtful of you two gals to send Wanda and Gene the goodies! Jo - think that was protection against humans at WE???
Parent and eaglet, our nest!
Suspense over at WE nest for the banding is deafening!
You expect to see Dr Sharpe's hat any minute coming up over the nest! The 2 eaglets are being very still and quiet
That was cool. I have yet to see Hidey take off or arrive untill now. He swooped up from right in front of the nest to see if Dad brought food.
I love it!
I hear voices, and the eaglets are not happy
There is a human side of me that wants to spank Hidey's hiney LOL. Humans at WE :)
Wray and 01 are giving them a big welcome ! Ha Ha
fooling with the cam now
WEE camera being cleaned.....
The eaglets are like 2 statues--- haven't moved at all.
they still have a ways to go
Pulling the WE cam back for a better view...
WOWSIE What a view
HEDGIE!---No---SORRY--I didn't see the comment from UTAH!!---HEY PAULA!---forgot you have eaten at MARIOS too!!---ho!
Look at those cliffs and that ocean, really beautiful and sea gulls flying. And fingers wiping the lens.
thanks for the windex:)
Paula Is that Wray and 01 That I hear?
Think a parent might have landed on the peak behind where the eaglets are.
Hi Dr. Sharpie!!
PAULA---I am always amazed as how DR. SHARPE works his way over to the chicks---so cool!---I bet those little ones are so scared!!
I seen one of the parents flying then landing. Can hear it too.
Just saw another adult eagle fly in onto the left hand peak You could see the white head.
Both eagle parents are there. One on the peak right behind the eaglets and the other parent on the peak behind that parent.
There is a camera crew doing a documentary at West End Nest with
Dr Sharpe! Hope we get to see it all.
Good Still Rainy Afternoon to everone, so glad to hear the report of Mary Margy, Ceil ♥
Sounds like everyone is busy.
Thanks for the WE play by play by many of you, and the link Paula
Contratulations Justin ! Well Done !
and
Happy Birthday T-Bird one more time for good measure ☺ ♥ xo
I'm a good two days behind on reading all the posts :(
Something to look forward to...sometime...
Going to watch West End for a little bit...
xo TTFN
I MISSED THE BOAT AGAIN !
There goes a boat.
Thanks Jo for the link!
There go the parents now...I know the banding team will have helmets on!
Well, heck, Thanks Mema Jo and Dana for those links....speed reading will get me every time !
Sorry !
Parent had flown off last peak back. Other parent still on next peak in.
Parent eagle has flown in area camera area.
I have our blog up
The WE nest up
The CHIL Discussion up
Just hope I hit the right one at the right time.........
This will take some time before they get over there to the 'lets!
(eaglets)
Another boat Mema Jo
A lot of boat traffic unless it is the same boat.
Glad you got to see the boat even if it might be same one. "I called them and ask them to drive back by so Mema Jo could see boat". lol
Parent eagle has flown back on the last of the 3 peaks. So they are all lined up.
Nope, Jo, can't go around the island that quick! They do have a lot of boats go by.
Well Margy I know you just got up and if you're like me it may take a few minutes before everything is clear! lol
Happy you are here to see the banding!
I see the crew now approaching the nest! Quite a climb!
Yepper! Same hat!
Looks like some young lady biologist doesn't have a hat on!!! I hope I am wrong.
Dr. Sharpe better keep his hat on! That parent was making a dive.
I was hoping the camera could zoom in..
I really wanted to see up close!
Adults are very protective. The NBG parents weren't as such..
Lot's of eagle swooping down towards crew. Hope there isn't any "buckets away".
Parents are swooping down trying to hit Dr. Sharpe and company.
Lovely view but constant ocean motion is distracting! Parent NOT happy about this intrusion.
Paula, that's my little girl Roxie. She'll be 11 in August and she's still like a puppy. Love her lots!!
I love this view Lynn it is awesome!
Hedgie, do you still have relatives in the area? It's a beautiful part of NY state. Lots of country and hillsides. Lots of nature all around.
Both eaglets have been bagged...
Twso HUMANS in the nest
That's a switch!
Lynn - what airplane does that sound like?
I wished I could have this as an avatar with the ocean moving and the eagles flying oh my
Wonder how long it will be before they climb back up? Think I'd better shut it down until they do. Don't want Hughes cop to get me!
Me to Jo I thought someone would stay up by the camera and zoom in on Dr. Sharpie and crew.
Paula is this the area you took a trip to?
Wonder which creatures have the fastest heart rates about now....♥ ♥ ♥
what an fascinating experience
Since cam is staying set on wide view, I wish they would be talking us through what it is they're doing.
Go, West End Girls!
I was playing that old Pet Shop Boys song for these babies this morning.
That Mom is there IN the nest 90% of the time. She does love those little ones.
Link to the IWS Forum - lots of pics coming on
I'll send you an email when they return to the nest, Lynn if you want.
Lost my internet for a few minutes...it messed up my video...oh well!
Time to go for now, will try to check in later. Thanks for the link to the WE nest. The pics on the blog were great. BBL.
No email needed, Jo... I can watch comments, plus Dana just called and said she would let me know...Thanks all for taking care of me!!
hey Justin congrats on your award...way to go, big guy:)
OK Lynn - you are good to go!
I think they have not adjusted their blog time!! Showing 4 hrs. behind us, not 3.
Hope Jim has been watching! Not sure if Andrea watches the CA cams or not.
WHOA---I couldn't see much---or hear---either---Followed the PICS
after JO gave me the link--
DID buy a nice pair of EARRINGS! ho!
my time on WE is correct, Lynn
my bad Lynn, you are talking about their blog....
My time is correct also Mits 3 hrs behind us
Both parents sitting together waiting for eaglets to come back
Both parents site together on the furthest peak back and wait and wait.
Norma you got the earrings from the WE site?
they are being good parents Ceil, they should be used to the human interference
Jo there goes another boat and de plane de plane
busy place....
I have an ooey-gooey tale....was letting the dog out--RAIN HAS STOPPED!--and there was a large snail on the bottom of the basement door. Closed the door to go get something to remove it with...and he must have shifted position enough that door sill caught him and CRUNCH! Yucko!
Paula, didn't you win a trip to go back to the islands?
Lynn no problem door fixed it.
I'm disappointed in this banding as there isn't any audio/video to let us know what is going on.
All the other bandings you were right there with them or informed as to what was going on.
I have got to go fix dinner.
BBL
maybe thinking this is a more remote area, plus if they are filming a documentary, the people filming probably have the exclusive rights to the footage
Jo it is like watching grass grow
jubby is home from Boston...he is getting ready and off to Braddock Heights we will go, celebrating niece's' 8th grade graduation and SIL, 50th BD.....get to see some of the Midwest relatives:)
at least we can see the adults.
hear a plane landing
Nice boat....
Glad Lynn didn't waste her Hughes time. She would be in the corner for a long long time waiting on this action.
Have a nice time Mits! Congratulations to the Graduate, and the half-century old SIL xo ☺
thanks Margy.
Mits - bring your umbrella!
I was about to ask hubby to grill some chicken and he said Not in the Rain!
Sun is coming tomorrow!
Heading out...not to work, but to the grandson's -
hope to hear the whip-poor-wills again.
There are some muskrat pics and Back Creek, on my Feathers, Fur and Misc link to look at while you are watching the grass grow at WE.
Best Wishes for a Great Evening for all xoxo TTFN
CEIL!!---de plane---de plane! enjoy your sense of humor!!---ho!
and a few wildflowers on the Wildflowers link, nothing too fancy....
I agree with what was said about the documentary having exclusive rights!
Think we'll ever see it?
Got new burner pans for stove today...range all clean and shiny now!
Guess I'll wipe down cupboard doors next while waiting for action to resume!
