I see I missed a nest visit. So glad the cam is back up!

Thanks Steve and Sharon! I was looking in my butterfly cage- all the remaining chrysalis are hatching this morning, 4 monarchs and 1 black swallowtail. Not a very sunny day to hatch.

Good morning again, everyone. Thanks, Sher, for the heads up. I have a very, very wet squirrel and an equally wet cardinal out here.

Mei and Tian are wrestlin' again this morning. I think she is already sick of him, though.

Costume Lady said...

MEGAN...what does the chrysalis of the Swallowtail look like. Is it similar to the Monarch?

floralgirl said...

They are not as pretty as a monarch chrysalis swallowtail pictures

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27, 2008 05:00 PM,
A quick update.
Mason's surgery was A+ successful. The shunt will bring the ventricle tubes exactley where the docs want them.

He is now off of the critical list. Serious but stable!

We are very happy right now. All of the families are invited to the Orioles White Sox game tonight with A barbecue on the field at 5:00. We are going their to celebrate. See ya! Thanks to all.

Love BEE and SYL.

Mema Jo said...

Well now! Buddy & Mason's prayers and positive thoughts have worked so well. Let's keep it up!!

Mema Jo said...

Butterfly Quiz

MITS said...

ok, guess I know nothing about butterflies:(

deb said...

I know nothing about butterflies either. Too bad cam is frozen, I wanted another eagle fix. We saw an adult eagle fly over today, but it didn't stick around, just flew right on by.

Mema Jo said...

The butterfly quiz was on Lisa's "KIDS" page from Blackwater. You can guess at the answers until you get it right - then the puzzle will appear. Fun way to learn. Lots of other quizes - Osprey Quiz is there.

floralgirl said...

oooh..I got 100% right...

deb said...

Happy birthday, Capt. Gene. I hope you are having a great day!

Mema Jo said...

Took me awhile, Megan but I finally got the correct answers and the beautiful puzzle pic came up!

Mema Jo said...

Found a good journal on the NCTC site concerning our Eagles!

Evening everyone!!!!
Loved the butterfly Quiz & Megan & Wanda's pictures! Saw a painted lady at work (I don't have a photo of one), so went in to get camkera & of course she wouldn't pose!!
Had heard about the Little Smokey Bear in CA---hope he heals OK. & new Buddy report is good..they didn't say if he got larger enclosure yet.
If I ever get new pics on blog, we got the Tamarin Twins on parent's back!! Cute and lovely color.
Gotta eat---been checking out 'puter. Calling anti-virus co. tomorrow---dreaded adware has not popped on yet tonight.

Another update on Mason from his Dad

deb said...

I just heard the wonderful sound of rain and checked the radar. I think that little bit is all we are going to get. We could sure use a nice all night soaker.

paula eagleholic said...

I'm hoping Fay will give us some Deb...just a couple of wayward sprinkles so far

Mema Jo said...

It does call for about 3 or 4 rainy days but don't know about how steady it will be. I'm still doing the Rain Dance!

deb said...

Wow, still raining here and I checked the radar again, it seems to be building. I hope it keeps up. We had so much rain before, and now we are having a bad dry spell. Grass fires in western SD this week. I hope Fay brings you all a nice rain, too, Paula.

hedgie said...

STILL not a drop of rain here...threatened all afternoon, but still waiting!! Rain dance...
Sure looks strange to see our nest in daylight at nighttime!!! Spidey can't mess us up this way---LOL!

magpie said...

Good Evening to everyone, loved all the new things on the Blog today, Megan's baby Butterfly pictures (great photos!) the site for Smokey (loved the way the Firefighter imitated his wailing) the Buddy site, Catalina updates, and everyone's cheery greetings, and especially the good news regarding Mason. If you go to the guestbook there is an entry with several websites you can access regarding the details of the accident and other events.

Still waiting for rain here...

Foggy morning at Finney's Water nest...maybe a few Sea Eagles will show up again, or Hooded Crows,...sure haven't seen any Ospreys lately.

Getting ready for another Midnight shift.
