I have seen wind turbines somewhere in the area coming back from Morgantown, maybe near Cumberland or Frostburg? Where are these? In Maryland somewhere?
I have a friend with land in Tucker County, and she is HOT about the proposed ridgetop things going on, power plant, which will take everything away from WV, but leave all the "fall-out" behind. Guess I better "learn up" on it. Article today in paper about the last warning on Global Warming..another HOT topic.

Dolphins the other day, Paula, none today.....ocean temp is 72, but think this is around baby time...will start seeing little dorsal fins soon
Tiny is still at the launch pad...cam acting up...don't think the breeze helps it.
Fort St. Vrain in Colo, looks pretty empty, exc for turtle shells. Went back thru some daily pictures, saw the parent and one eaglet; it is time I think.
That hummingbird action at the cam in the Rain Forest is hilarious! Looks like a trampoline. Chrissy sent it on the Yahoo. Some of those birdies are pretty big..

one last thing....I asked a naturalist friend about the big fish and gold fish I saw last night, and here is what he thinks:
"I wonder if the fish you saw are Grass Carp. People put
them in ponds to keep the water weeds under control. The gold one may be a Koi. "
Sounds good to me. I was wondering if a tee-tiny goldfish could mate with a big ugly carp!

Tiny must be enjoying having the nest all to herself....still standing near the launch pad...just looking around.
Tiny is gone, empty nest. I have been gone all afternoon. I took the dogs for a long walk, but it was so humid, I think they wanted a short walk.

Magpie, goldfish are members of the carp family. I have no idea why I know that, heard it somewhere.

There was a food delivery with a very fast takeover by an eaglet. Adult still in the nest.

Eaglet was looking right up at the cam while other one was on it...doing video now!
I thought it was a wing once and then it looked too skinny and white.
Ok, you are right, that's why they were too big to be spidey. I was thinking that was one big spider.
Then eaglet hopped right into nest on the far side...cool!
And we wonder why the cam doesn't work right sometimes. I think we are down to two again.

Sometimes it is spidey and sometimes I think it looks like a bug.

I figured it must be a spider, because if it were a bug, it would get caught in the web. It is way smaller than spidey was before.

Nat'l Aquarium staff from Baltimore today and tomorrow will be going out to see osprey banding at the Park.They were out about 3 hours. One of the lowest nos. of young birds there ever, probably due to the bad storms this spring.
Speaking of river and fish, goldfish and koi ARE carp, the latter being a more ornamental and domesticated variety.Some people let their pet fish go or they escape from ponds. Our ospreys eat many a HUGE orange carp.(Got pic of one on the Blogspot.) Remnants are found in nests.
Hope Ceil feels better and everyone else w/ailments. And hope Chrissy will be talking at us soon!

Missed all the Eaglet Action, hope to see it in a video too...all I see now is twinkly stuff and maybe some spider silk.
LOLLY - yes, the kids are fun....a nice feature to living here "in town" though I miss being more out in the wilderness.
NATURE NUT - thanks for the info on the KOI and carp and things. Would never have thought of sweet precious little goldfish as CARP! I will watch for your pic, couldn't find it yet on your Blog.

We have goldfish in our pond. We do not have koi as they eat plants. Goldfish leave the plants alone. Have lost goldfish to herons. Chased one out of the yard one day.

A parent brought in a meal, which one of the eaglets took. Based on these images, it looks like there might be a shell in the nest, indicating a turtle meal.
