it still is going to be hot, but not as bad as last few days, told hubby everyone will be rushing to the zoo today....it will be a long day for me, will not get home til after meeting tonight
no, Wanda, there are 7 species of animals on the ASIAN TRAIL, not just the giant pandas, last week I was by myself so when that happens usually you will stay by the pandas, and when it started to rain, went inside, but today there will be 3 of us on the trail, only go inside if weather is dangerous.
I did something this a.m. I never do, watched the news......saw a family in Wisconsin lose there home to the floods, and NBC is in China, 69,000 plus people dead, almost 20,000 still missing, and 5 million homeless due to the earthquake, kinds put things in proper perspective in relation to a cam that does not work
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!---I'm proud of you HELEN!!---Watching NEWS is a GOOD thing!!---I must be rubbing off on me!!---I watch NEWS most all the time!!!--Anxious to hear about INDIANA DAVE & how he is getting along attempting to clean up his flood mess!!---That's terrible!!!
I was checking and Ms Inbetween fledged on June 9th. Spunky on June 14th. Today has got to be the day for Tiny. Or I am going back to the nest. Have a good day everyone. Hi ho hi ho its off to work I go.
MEGAN---I thought of you yesterday-----wondering how you & your flowers were 'adapting' to this FL weather!!----It's 69° now---feels like DECEMBER!!---ho!!---
Norma, as soon as I get dressed will go to zoo, have cams from 10 til 1, then 1 to 4 shift, then 4 to 6 cams and meeting at 6:30p,m,, I am just learning the cams in case ther is a pregnancy and cub watch
WHOA!!---Picture of nest is very CLEAR---#3 is where she was most of the day yesterday!!----That must be the only shade!---Just see her butt sticking out!!----
GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING TO ALL TINY FLEDGE WATCHERS OUT THERE! :) I am at school and just had to check in to see if Tiny had made the big leap of faith.
I hope the worst of the heatwave is behind you. Maybe people's brains will return to a functioning mode and we will be able to view the cams without all that 'noise.'
I came in early today and finished up what I could in the room. Now I am waiting for my teacher to sort through all her junk so it can be put away in monthly boxes.
Well, gotta head out and do something. All have a wonderful day. Hope Tiny waits until I get home and see it live. If now, I know womeone will have captured it on video.....I hope.
HEY NORMA AND SANDY. I am in North Carolina Outer Banks, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, etc. Been here for 26 years now. NORMA so good to be on and talk to you. Today is my last day at school, so I might be able to get back into staying in my PJ's for the morning and get my coffed and chat. Can't wait. Miss you all too.
NORMA, I can't get it live here at school..:( How aare those divers treating you? I haven't read where anyone has seen them lately. I guess to many different birds to watch.
CAndy, I'm about as far away as I can get and still be in NC. I'm in the northwest piedmont, about 5 minutes from the VA line. My daughter will be out your way in July with the girl scouts to ride horses on the beach though.
WE REALLY HAVE CANDY!!---You will be surprised to see how many sites we have!!---The BWE site is closing down---2 EAGLETS & they are on their own!!----looking forward to chatting with you!!!
Good mronign! Just got on in time to see the last food drop. Don't know who is mantling but the other sure must be hungry, trying to get a bite or two.
Yes Sandy, you could hear them peeping in the nest....I have video to work on tonight - you can hear them peeping in it. Of course, it's not as loud as the cam, because you are farther away
Same here--Live cam says "Playing", but black pic & some scratchy sound. 30 sec was rainbow. See Paula got some pics on--maybe can view them at work!!! Outta Here.
Thanks for the photos from the group's visit to the nest, Paula. I have them in a separate window, looked at the slide show once, will probably run it again. [:~D]
You know, there are some very interesting people in the collection too!
Looks like everyone had a great time. Was that "Sandra" our Sandra Osborne?
Paula, thanks for the pics. I downloaded the whole album to my computer. I will try to do that with mine, though alot are the same. That is a great way to share all these pics with each other. I love Picasa.
So sad.... Wolong, China (AP): Mao Mao the panda's remains were gently laid in a wooden crate and wheeled to a patch of ground in China's famed Wolong Nature Reserve where a freshly dug grave awaited. The center's director stood cap in hand and shoveled in a few spades of dirt. Then Mao Mao's keeper stepped forward crying, and arranged two apples and a piece of bread by the grave. Three minutes of silence followed as workers gathered around the grave. NEarly a month after she was crushed to death when China's devastating earthquake collapsed the wall of her enclosure, 9 year-old Mao Mao was laid to rest Tuesday in a quiet corner of the Wolong panda breeding center....Mao Mao's body was discovered Monday, buried under debris."
I wish Tiny would move a little out from under the cam...... Just so we know that our Still Cam picture hasn't frozen. My timer is going good..... but would like for him to move a wing or two!
Nothing yet at WE - haven't read all their forum comments. Wray must have had a go around with the ravens earlier! Will her white head ever be white again..
West End - Peter said he'd post a note if indeed it would take place today as expected so keep an eye out! (and usually it's later in the day due to the LONG drive to WE).
Sounds like one of our 6:00 viewings for the banding if in fact it happens. Both adults are at the WE nest - the raven situation doesn't make Dr Sharpe's arrival very welcomed!

Helen, what do you do when it is so hot at the zoo? Do you stay inside most of the time. I guess there aren't many visitors when it is extremely hot.
Hey Mits - you left out something!!
no, Wanda, there are 7 species of animals on the ASIAN TRAIL, not just the giant pandas, last week I was by myself so when that happens usually you will stay by the pandas, and when it started to rain, went inside, but today there will be 3 of us on the trail, only go inside if weather is dangerous.
on the other hand, the zoo does not want us endangering ourselves either, so they sent out warnings about heat stroke and what to do.
AAAAAAAMMMMMEEENNNNNNN!!!!!!! my bad:)
Very good. Thank you very much!

Good Wednesday Morning
I guess it paid off waiting in the nest with Tiny - Adult did food drop
Come on spunky Tiny - it was really meant for you....

Yes Sandy, you could hear them peeping in the nest....I have video to work on tonight - you can hear them peeping in it. Of course, it's not as loud as the cam, because you are farther away
So, is anybody else just getting sound and no pic?

Yepper We are getting sound & no pic.. Paula did email Steve.

I can't see squat on the 30 sec cam either. Oh well....you guys keep posting so I'll know what's happening
I am thinking that Steve might not be in since we don't have a new thread yet.
Same here--Live cam says "Playing", but black pic & some scratchy sound. 30 sec was rainbow.
See Paula got some pics on--maybe can view them at work!!!
Outta Here.

Hopefully he will be able to check his email soon...
AT 6 now.
Finally a clear pic
Thanks for the photos from the group's visit to the nest, Paula. I have them in a separate window, looked at the slide show once, will probably run it again. [:~D]
You know, there are some very interesting people in the collection too!
Looks like everyone had a great time. Was that "Sandra" our Sandra Osborne?
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
Yes, Jim, that was "our Sandra".
Great photos, Paula.
Yes, Jim, that is OUR Sandra and her husband, Tom.
It was so good to see her.
Jim, she is able to walk on her own, along with the assistance of a cane. She ate well and laughed and joked just like her old self.
Sharon - did you see the very last pic? I have a couple to send to you...I'll have to do it when I get home...
Do you mean the Turtle Crossing sign, Paula?
C(°ï®¡°)D
Jim
I did see that Paula. That is a good pic even if I am in it.
I told Paula, Sissy and Mattie that they even had a sign telling the eagles where to get the turtles. Service with a smile.
I just added a few more pics on the yahoo page.
That would be it, Jim. :)
Paula, thanks for the pics. I downloaded the whole album to my computer. I will try to do that with mine, though alot are the same. That is a great way to share all these pics with each other. I love Picasa.
Thank goodness Tiny is staying put for now...we'd miss the video for sure.
Still at 6 on the nest
Hey Sissy, there are never too many eagle pics to look at. I love your one of Tiny getting some air.
I would put mine on the Momsters site...but I load them in large size and it doesn't work there, so I put them on Picasa.
PS - I didn't know you could download a whole album!
So sad....

That is a very touching - the respect shown and the closeness of man & panda. It is very sad.
Steve must be off today!
From what MITS said - I have cams from 10 til 1!
She is zooming in on the Ray Charles Panda dance lol
I just bet that is her cam...
Now panda has Fruitcycle treat..
H-viller- I am also thinking that he isn't on campus - Not because of Live Feed not being fixed but because of not getting a new thread.
Still a fuzzy pic on our cam...but Tiny still at 6 on the nest
Hang on...maybe some RP progress
My RP totally down...maybe resetting??
I had just tried RP
It buffered - but no pic for me
I was thinking resetting too Paula.
I am not sure if the still pic is even updating. What do you all think?
But right now we only get File Not Found message.
I wish Tiny would move a little out from under the cam......
Just so we know that our Still Cam picture hasn't frozen. My timer is going good..... but would like for him to move a wing or two!
RP - I guess not!
The 30 second is updating....although pic has been very fuzzy
LOL Sharon - we are doing it again
I answer you before I see your
question ......
That's a "Eagle Buddy" thingy
Paula any update as to time of the banding at WE -
Sorry, I think I am wrong on that last post...just compared a pic from 10 minutes ago...I think the 30 second cam is frozen as well :(
Nothing yet at WE - haven't read all their forum comments.
Wray must have had a go around with the ravens earlier!
Will her white head ever be white again..
I've sent out another email to someone else at NCTC...
No update yet on WE banding time...
West End - Peter said he'd post a note if indeed it would take place today as expected so keep an eye out! (and usually it's later in the day due to the LONG drive to WE).
Those raven attacks are fierce!
Sounds like one of our 6:00 viewings for the banding if in fact it happens. Both adults are at the WE nest - the raven situation doesn't make Dr Sharpe's arrival very welcomed!
Going to get some LUNCH! BBL
