Today Cloudy. Light snow...sleet and freezing rain developing this morning...changing to rain late this afternoon. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation. Ice accumulation of less than one tenth of an inch. Highs in the mid 30s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 80 percent.
Well, Norma, I think the duck was last night in the BWE nest... This wing looks like a goose or larger. The Mrs. must be getting fattened up to begin the hatching season.
Hummingbird... Wanda and Candy. I think it will be closer to 3 weeks before they hatch. Could be longer owing to the coolish weather. That should make it Jan 29th approximately.
Not only has the nest turned pink overnight, it's canted to the left more radically again. [:~)
I was just reading about hummingbirds, and think you are right, Jim. Each type of hummer has a different incubation time and cool weather affects the time. Allen's hummingbird has the longest time of all the hummingbirds I saw.
Good Morning Everyone of you out there in Eagleland! I just knew that Suz returned and that Candy had another day off due to our fantastic COUNT this time of the morning! And everyone seems to be here. I haven't checked the early am comments but things are really happening in these nests! You all are something else!
LOL, morning, Jo! Yup, I have a tendency to talk a bit, but not as much today as normal. Figured I'd ease ya'll in easy, since I was gone for 4 days....
Feeding still at Tesoro, both heads just waiting! Adorable.
GOOD MORNING TO YOU JO. Yes I am off today still, but back to work tomorrow. :( IT sure has been alot of fun seeing and hearing about all the goings on here.
How are you feeling? Better and better I hope.WE get you fit as a fiddle and Sandra fit as a fiddle and then we can all rock and roll.
Any one notice the 2 BEAUTIFUL EAGLES that hang out at the BWO place-----NEVER LOOK HAPPY!---ho---I guess EAGLES aren't supposed to look happy---I mean they never look relaxed!!---Don't yell too loud!!---you just know what I mean!--ho!
So, based on new information from Jim and what I read today, we have a whole week to wait for the hummer's to hatch. Earliest date would be Friday at 17 days. If you look back I put a link with incubation times.
I have been watching the Downy woodpeckers out on my trees. They surely do scamper up & down. I usually go over to all the other forums in the morning to see everyone's contributions (comments & pictures). No word yet on the ID of the eagle visiting at Kent. Can't believe how high ZZ has climbed!!! Only go to exercise rehab 3x's weekly. It does help get you up & going!
No precip here yet. I need to make a trip out for b-day party supplies for tomorrow. I best be getting out & back before the weather breaks for the worst.
You know, I never really realized how many comments we make on here until I started getting them emailed to me. Have to delete much more often now but love getting the comments that way.
'Morning, eagle lovers! I saw my name mentioned by Norma and had a few free minutes, so thought I'd jump in for a while. It's cloudy and windy up here on this mountain, but warmer than it has been lately. I have been so busy at work since the first of the year. We have a new financial boss and he doesn't like the way the old boss had us do the financial stuff, so we are going back to July and changing things. Yuk! Jill and Norma - I was in Petersburg on Sunday. You can see the wind turbines at Mt Storm from several places in Petersburg. They are most visible from the Post Office. It's amazing how huge thay look from there! Our anti-turbine group found out that another company is considering building turbines on a ridge which is in both Pendleton & Hardy Counties, WV and Rockingham County, VA. The Fish & Wildlife Service formally opposed the site because Bald Eagles and Golden Eagles live there - but the company can still put them there if they do a 3 year study and get a special permit! Also - the National Forest is considering allowing turbines on their land! This would mean clearing ridge tops, building roads, erecting poere lines and maybe a n electrical substation, noise form the turbines, lights on them all night, dead birds & bats and wildlife moving away from them. so much for the peace and quiet and beauty of the National Forests! Well, that's my rant for the day!
BOTH in BWE nest! Fish crows still in BWO. Our little Precious hasn't moved from that canopy, WAY up there. She is adorable. Hope she can come down by herself!
Time for me to hit the road. Hear it's snowing lightly in MD, so guess I'll hit it on the way home. Not doing anything here. Hope it goes away very QUICKLY!!!
All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Norma, I only called it a canopy because that's what Jim called it earlier. Looks like a tree branch canopy, and yes, the little bugger is way up there, isn't she? If you watch, you can see her move every once in a while. Hope the keepers have a big ladder, just in case. Ok, gotta go now. Hopefully blog tomorrow, depending on weather, as usual.
Hi, Mits. I hope that by the time we have eggs in our nest I'll have more time to get on the blog and "talk" with everyone. Does anyone know on what dates Belle laid her eggs in the past?
Driveway, porch and sidewalk to porch done. I will need snowblower to do main sidewalk as the snowplow really buried it. I need to warm up. I am off now, have errands to do. BBL.
Our friend out in California, Annemarie's puter is not working at home, and, she is even blocked from ready the daily blogs at work, so any chance you all get send her an e-mail to keep her up-to- date, pics would be good too:).
Well, I'm back for a little. Been fixing my Windows Media Player... deleting it, reloading it, going to my video card maker and downloading a new driver for the display, napping, testing the Media Player and readjusting color and brightness, etc. ....
Might be fixed, should test it a while longer before I declare it fixed.
Now, when my lunch settles a little, I should do something I had in mind for this morning before all the Media Player stuff.
I see the hummingbird is still on the "eggs," the nest has returned to a more natural color.
Just a short hello to everyone... I am alive but not kickin been very ill for over amonth now... I check in when ever possible read blogs... Congrats Paula on your new grandson... Jasmin is 6 months old and finally growing alil hair..lol As for Diana they moved back in Dec. and i dont know where to... Hello to all the new bloggers here also... Hard to think this blog is 3 years old and we been friends that long... Guess that makes me a oldie but goodie too... Oldie yes but a goodie debatable...lol
I looked in Wikipedia for the incubation period of Allen's Hummingbirds:
15-17 days.
But I think most Hummers incubate closer to Spring in warmer temperatures, so I would not be surprised if this clutch takes longer to hatch.
This is the variety of Allen's that came from the Channel Islands, and apparently they produce as many clutches as they can all year round.
The other varieties of Hummer in the area usually produce one set of two chicks in the Spring. I don't recall any that come to my feeder having more than one clutch per season.
Thanks Paula & Sharon... The nest is beautiful and Lib & Belle just as beautiful... Has anyone heard when or of the sound and live cam is turned on? I tryed to add a picture of Jazzy from Christmas hope it worked...
GOOD TO FINALLY HEAR FROM YOU NILLA. You have been very missed by all of us. What a beautiful pic you have on your blog of your Jazzy. She is beautiful. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Hope you are fit as a fiddle very soon so we can have you back on here again.
JO What is 340 comments or so. :) I'm surprised the whole blog didn't shut down. Well, I am back in school tomorrow, so that will be one less on here that talks too much. :) I'll surely miss all of you and your chatter.
Weather in Murrysville, Pa: 33° and snow flurries. Also, 2 deer there now. Sorry, Helen. I know you are getting ready to watch NCIS, so I did the weather for you.
Maybe it is just my computer slowing down. Hate to see you go to work tomorrow Candy! Our school kids had off Mon for MLK and then teacher's conference Tue & Wed. Really long vacation for them to just hang out!
I am back from a day of errands. I was thinking I was getting home just in time for the 5 o'clock visits, duh, one hour time zone difference. Looks like you all had a good afternoon. A few good eagle visits, some hanky panky, and some old friends dropped in. Better get the dogs fed. I want to be able to watch the Kent nest tonight.
Nothing at Kent so far this evening. But then I haven't been watching it nonstop. Just finished dinner & did capture our eagles but I missed the H&P when I was on this blog talking to Nilla. Might work on a PP show in a while & send it out.
Mits - does the small ball in the bottom of the mouse need cleaned around it on the inside? Mine really picks up the fuzz- I use a Q-Tip to clean it OR do you have an optical mouse?
Mits, I started having the same thing happening to me tonight, It wouldn't hold the page at the top and let me scroll down. It kept scrolling down on its own and wouldn't go back to the top and stay. I turned everything off, and now I am ok.
School for me tomorrow.:(:(:( Fun time is over. I'll be peeking in from time to time, so you all keep the blog going. I had a great time this weekend with you all.
You all have a good and peaceful sleep tonight. Nilla, you take care of yourself. Prayers for all. Tomorrow brings a new day with a new beginning.
darn NCIS is a repeat Wanda....Jo, mouse is optical, Sharon told me to clean out its eye, and I also cleaned out its butt, seems to be working better, sine I cleaned its butt
I saw them, Mits, until they faded away in darkness. Did you check the batteries in your mouse? I had to change mine this morning and it is working good now. Mine just wouldn't do anything, though, not strange things like yours it doing.
Just a quik Hello to those who came in after i left earlier... Wanda & Jo i have no idea where they are, they moved out when i was at work taking alot of my things.. Oweing me money... I did get things back finally.. Sad to say it but helping people just isnt worth it most of the time... Yes Mits unplug your mouse and re connect it.. To clean us a q tip and alchol ... well Niters... and yes Wanda i saw Jazzy tonight and will have her tomorrow, but when i was ill i didnt see her much...
Thanks for sharing your BW experience with us, Paula. I especially liked the video of the Snow Geese at the end. I also learned a new word....SNAG. That is 2 words I learned this week..."Bloke" and "Snag". I am really getting an education on here.LOL And with that said, I will tell everyone....GOODNIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT.
Thanks, Wanda. The "snag" is a favorite dead tree the eagles like to perch on. This was my third trip to BW and the first time I have seen the 'snag'. I don't know how I missed it the other times...maybe because the eagles weren't on it!
"Hello, been having mouse problems, the last few hours ....jumping all over the screen, freezing, throwing up weird icons....think it is possessed" [Mits]
Mits, what you describe sounds like what I've seen where I worked several times...it's probably a virus, a Trojan horse or an aggressive spyware.
The invasive software is affecting your mouse's behavior. It's not your mouse creating the weird icons, etc.
You should pull the plug on the Internet (perhaps tonight) and do full scans for viruses and another for spyware ... wouldn't hurt to defragment the machine while you're at it.
You can "right click" on the weird icons, and then "click" on "Properties" to get an idea of what the icons lead to.
IT always handled it at work, so I don't know exactly what they found, but they did find something serious, and everything worked normally after it was removed.
Good morning, world. Our winter event yesterday turned out to be a winter nothing. Very few flurries when I left, then clear skies by the time I got to Frederick. ALRIGHT!!! Hurt my feelings...NOT. Another bright winter moon tonight, and very bright out. But the moon is reflecting off the snow, and it makes it really bright. Kinda cool looking! 38° in PA, 36° here in VA, but no wind, so that's a good thing. No cams open, need to do that. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Good morning, Jim. Something told me to go check the blog. Glad I did. I read what you wrote about Fatty's huge catfish! Bet that was awesome to see. Did he get much of it, or did the turtles get most of it? Can't imagine turtles taking food away from a croc, they must be very brave soles! I've opened the cams, but not watching at the moment. Trying to get other things done. Did see Tai snoozing this morning, he's so cute. And BWO is totally fuzzy again, but what can ya do? Sleep tight, Jim, hope you can get some good sleep!
We had rain in the night sometime and it is just leaving the coast at this time. No 2 hour delay here. Usually that is reserved for fog or water over the roads.
GOOD MORNING TO YOU WANDA. I hope you have a wonderful day. I am just checking out as I have to go back to school today. Get your coffee now so you won't miss our darlings when they visit their nest.

So, based on new information from Jim and what I read today, we have a whole week to wait for the hummer's to hatch. Earliest date would be Friday at 17 days. If you look back I put a link with incubation times.
The 2 on the BWO nest!!----They seem to mate quite often!!---They should look happy!!---ho!
DEB---I know you did---But I couldn't get your link to open!!
Deb, was wondering why the 25th was sticking in my mine about the hummers, think I had heard that right after the eggs were laid on the 8th.
Me either, Norma, I must have done something wrong. I will try again.
Incubation
OK, lets try it again.
worked that time, Deb
It works this time. Last time I got so excited about 2 little heads at Tesoro, I obviously goofed!
Todays new update on Tessa is posted on their site...they are going to "rock the boat" to help her kidneys
It does help get you up & going!
all gone eagles at BWO
I am putting off shoveling, but can't do it much longer. I need to get it done before the winds get too bad. Temp is up to 0 degrees!
Deb That is great Hummer info.
I'll need to bookmark it
No precip here yet. I need to make a trip out for b-day party supplies for tomorrow. I best be getting out & back before the weather breaks for the worst.
BBL
I opened the hummer page to see an add with three kids in OBX shirst and looked to see it was a Resort Realty Ad for our Outer Banks. Small world.
You know, I never really realized how many comments we make on here until I started getting them emailed to me. Have to delete much more often now but love getting the comments that way.
That is amazing what the doctors can do now with restarting her kidneys.
I really like it that way too, Sharon, read and delete....
OMGOSH!!! HEAD AT CC2
Tessa's story just totally amazes me, Deb
Both proud parents in Tesoro with the babies.
I got to see the last little bit of head at CC2. Babies everywhere. Enough procrastinating--off to shovel snow. BBL.

Lost Norfolk, did anyone else?
Do you all think that is PRECIOUS up in the tree at SD!---WHOA!!---Don't think she is that large??
correction - 6th line from the bottom - I meant erecting POWER lines, not POERE lines!
Time for me to hit the road. Hear it's snowing lightly in MD, so guess I'll hit it on the way home. Not doing anything here. Hope it goes away very QUICKLY!!!
All have a great eagle/panda day.
Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
SUZANNE---How did you find out that is a canopy for PRECIOUS!---She is going to have a "big head" if she has been sleeping in a canopy!!---ho!
TTYT., Suzanne..it is 39° here.
YES SUZANNE----I lost NORFOLK early---had to quit watching!!
HELLO CAROL:).
Hi, Mits. I hope that by the time we have eggs in our nest I'll have more time to get on the blog and "talk" with everyone. Does anyone know on what dates Belle laid her eggs in the past?
DOUBLE EAGLE ALERT - OUR NEST!
Eagle alert in our nest.
The poor eagle in Ph or SC is getting drenched. Sitting up there on his roost and just getting drenched.
I am assuming that since Belle is headless most of the time, she brought lunch.
EAgle at BWO

MITS Our eagle back
Driveway, porch and sidewalk to porch done.

Is Belle eating again?
AT LEAST BIG BELLE LOOKS LIKE SHE HAS SOMETHING
#$#%@ BLOGGER COP....SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE IS EATING AGAIN...
Now she is doing something in the egg cup and Lib is fussing at her.
HE GOT HER!!!!
Now my pic is frozen.
Mits what "He got her"???
HANKY PANKY, MISSED THE PIC WAS WATCHING IT
Belle's head is looking fluffy again!
Missed the hanky panky but noticed the fluffy head!
Belle is moving sticks again.
hanky-panky was right after he was yelling at her, if that were me, I would have decked him with my right wing and slapped him out of the nest
really moving those sticks around
Must have been when my pic froze!
ROFLMAO Mits!
it was Sharon....wish the pic had froze on the HP.
Mits you are so funny lol
Snow/sleet or rain is happening in Maine.
looks like a soaring eagle and another bird in the background at Tesoro
Pretty colors at Tesoro right now...pink sky
Tesoro twins must be napping!
EAGLE ALERT - OUR NEST!
All is right with the world.... [:~)

Hummer is off nest, and I can see both eggs.
I looked in Wikipedia for the incubation period of Allen's Hummingbirds:

Oh, Nilla, I am so sorry you havn't been feeling well. And I know you miss Diana and Rosalita. Do you feel well enough to have Jasmin over?
Weather in Murrysville, Pa: 33° and snow flurries. Also, 2 deer there now.

darn NCIS is a repeat Wanda....Jo, mouse is optical, Sharon told me to clean out its eye, and I also cleaned out its butt, seems to be working better, sine I cleaned its butt
3rd eagle just arrived at WE
No visitor at Kent. I read while I watched, but kept glancing over, so I don't think I missed anything.
I kept waiting for number 3, thought it wasn't going to show.
do you see the 3 eagles at WE, Deb?
focus has gone wacko, and my mouse is acting up again
I saw them, Mits, until they faded away in darkness. Did you check the batteries in your mouse? I had to change mine this morning and it is working good now. Mine just wouldn't do anything, though, not strange things like yours it doing.
changed batteries 3 times...
the pic of the eagle at KENT yesterday seemed to be when the sky was brighter....looks like moon will be coming up soon, should be beautiful

no one sleeping at BWE tonight, unless she lands sometime during the night
Mits, I just noticed that the time on the clock at Kent is an hour off. 18:47 would be 6:47 and it should be 5:47 in Washington, right?
here comes the moon at KENT
the clock never did change when we changed times, Deb...it is 5:55p,m, at KENT, 3 hours behind east coast
I hadn't ever paid that much attention to the time to notice it was wrong.
putting this #$@#%^ mouse to bed...GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
Maybe one day here soon I can catch these guys doing the HP!
Mits - did you try unplugging your mouse?

Thanks for sharing your BW experience with us, Paula. I especially liked the video of the Snow Geese at the end. I also learned a new word....SNAG. That is 2 words I learned this week..."Bloke" and "Snag". I am really getting an education on here.LOL
And with that said, I will tell everyone....GOODNIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT.
Thanks, Wanda. The "snag" is a favorite dead tree the eagles like to perch on. This was my third trip to BW and the first time I have seen the 'snag'. I don't know how I missed it the other times...maybe because the eagles weren't on it!
Good Night Everyone
Peace to You & Yours
Prayers being said for all our needs
Sunny day for tomorrow!
Enjoy!
"Hello, been having mouse problems, the last few hours ....jumping all over the screen, freezing, throwing up weird icons....think it is possessed"
[Mits]
Jim
Was up and checked on BWE nest MT also checked our nest MT.
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYONE/
GOOD MORNING TO SUZ AND THE EARLY BIRDERS.
[:~)
JIM
Good morning, world. Our winter event yesterday turned out to be a winter nothing. Very few flurries when I left, then clear skies by the time I got to Frederick. ALRIGHT!!! Hurt my feelings...NOT. Another bright winter moon tonight, and very bright out. But the moon is reflecting off the snow, and it makes it really bright. Kinda cool looking! 38° in PA, 36° here in VA, but no wind, so that's a good thing.
No cams open, need to do that. All have a great eagle/panda day.
Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
GOOD MORNING, SUZANNE.
Yes, I'm still up, but not for long.
I haven't been watching cams this evening, except Pete's Pond from time to time...many, many Cattle Egrets there.
Fatty the Crocodile is probably still not hungry after that huge Catfish he caught 3-4 days ago.
Too dark at ZZ's compound to see anything.
Have a wonderful day, Suz. I've got to try to get to sleep again.
Jim
Good morning, Jim. Something told me to go check the blog. Glad I did. I read what you wrote about Fatty's huge catfish! Bet that was awesome to see. Did he get much of it, or did the turtles get most of it? Can't imagine turtles taking food away from a croc, they must be very brave soles!
I've opened the cams, but not watching at the moment. Trying to get other things done. Did see Tai snoozing this morning, he's so cute. And BWO is totally fuzzy again, but what can ya do?
Sleep tight, Jim, hope you can get some good sleep!
Well, since Jim went to bed, and noone else is up, I'll BBIALW.
I am up now Suzanne but really wanted to sleep in. Snowed a little here this morning so school is on a 2-hour delay.
Morning, Sharon. At least you don't have to go out in the snow! I didn't get anything yesterday, and nothing this morning. I'm glad!
GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING TO YOU SUZANNE AND SHARON. SLEEP TIGHT JIM! Work for me today :(, but I wanted to see if our nest was inhabited and to say hello to all.
We had rain in the night sometime and it is just leaving the coast at this time. No 2 hour delay here. Usually that is reserved for fog or water over the roads.
Good Morning to all you early
birds. It's going to be a GREAT DAY
today.
Indiana Nesting Eagles----Dave
It won't be long and the rest of the coffed pj gang will be up. Hello to you all. Have a fun and chatty day. Later gators!
GOOD MORNING SUZ, SHARON, CANDY AND SLEEP TIGHT JIM...
GOOD MORNING DAVE! I think the others are checking out the cams, but they will be on shortly. I have work today, so you enjoy the day with the eagles.
GOOD MORNING TO YOU WANDA. I hope you have a wonderful day. I am just checking out as I have to go back to school today. Get your coffee now so you won't miss our darlings when they visit their nest.
I can't help it, but I have to get on one more time to see if I can be the 400th blogger on this blog.
Sorry, Dave, Good Morning to you also.
I THINK YOU DID IT CANDY! LOT OF WAX FOR YOU!
