Deb Good question about knowing if it is Scarface. I hope Pook make a comment about him. This morning I saw the cow & Scarface with his one antler as they were lying in the snow. Until we see two moose without antlers(Scarface & the cow) or 1 moose with 1 antler - we won't know if he lost it!!! Another mystery!
Just checked in on the moose cam and it said that Scarface had lost his second antler sometime after ten this am. It showed a pic of him where it had come off, a pics of the two antlers together and told how much each one weighed. I don't know if any of you saw it or not.
Just finished reading comments & watching the videos and pics of the Visitor at PH nest. I hope tomorrow that Peter will tell everyone just who it was!
I saw that sub-adult come into PH tonight, but didn't know that it was a stranger to the nest. I just announced eagle at SC and didn't think it was too big of a deal. It was fun to watch it until it got too dark to see.
I just saw a picture of another blond immature Bald Eagle (A60).
I saw it while searching for a possible ID for the stranger at Santa Cruz today. It did not appear blond in the banding or fledging pics, but it's back and wings are very blond now. I think it is about 2 1/2 yrs. old (not sure of that now)...originally one of the "grassland chicks" from Santa Cruz.
Good morning, world. Not too bad out, windy, but not too cold! 56° in PA, 59° in VA. Looks like they had rain down here though, some streets are kinda wet. Think the wind will dry them very shortly. Saw a baby opossum coming down, and a cat, and that's all. The baby opossum's are cute when they're about 8" long, but they kinda lose that the bigger they get. Oh well, don't we all. Ok, that was started over half an hour ago, phones ringing (at this hour), and folks coming in already (at this hour!). Opened some cams, see Jim's note, Bai and ZZ are still totally blank cam! Later. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!
Oh, gonna be a busy day. Back again, forgot to mention that today is the day Tesoro eggs may start to hatch. Will have to go back and see if any have hatched already, and someone here saw it.
Megan, I bought some apples and bananas Sat, and quartered an apple for the birds. By Monday, I put 2 quarters in one feeding place, the other 2 in the 2nd feeding place. As of yesterday, all 4 quarters were untouched! Fussy little things! And since it's been warm, my outdoor kitty has been spending the night on my back step, so I don't even have nocturnal critters eating them. I'm gonna put a banana out today, see if that goes any better.
Norma, I started watching Orangutan Island on Comcast Ch1, on demand a few weeks ago. Forgot to tell you. They're a week behind on what you see on Animal Planet, but I can catch up. It's kinda cute, but it's not Meerkat Manor. But I will continue to watch it.
For All, on Friday the 11th, the National Geographic channel has a new show called "Dog Town" It's about the Best Friends Dog Town, the work they do, the dogs they help, ets. It's on at 9PM.
Ok, caught up on what I've been forgetting. Waiting for our kids to show up!! And the SD cam to come on!
Another very pink sunrise in Tesoro, and I have the Virginia eagle cam up, too cool. Tree looks beautiful, looks all fuzzy in this light and B&W pic. Both pandas are up and pacing at NZ.
Cool, just went to color, oh and here comes the 2nd eagle. Now both in nest, rearranging whatever. What a beautiful pair. Our kids are sleeping in this morning!
Cool pic in Norfolk. That nest is really blowing in the wind, though! One still on branch, one in nest. Our beautiful babies are either sleeping in or they went out for breakfast!

Yes they are Jo. Sitting pretty as a picture!
Good Afternoon all. Beautiful eagles! If that is Scarface on the moose cam, he lost his other antler.
Cam stuck for me
Ok, better now...
Feeding again at CC1 - I forgot how often they eat!
Deb did you ever write to Birdgirl whose name is Delphia?
Check out the eagle at BWO, is there something wrong with it's wing?

Why do you say that Deb? Looked OK earlier.
lol It is like our eagles know we are watching them......
PAULA Good pic of the two little heads in the CC nest. How exciting.
Eagle gone at BWO
I think we have a frozen pic on the cam..
I see a white patch on the upper part of the wing. Has it always been there? Maybe it is the way the sun is hitting the wing.
POOF! There we go
Ho!!! WOW CLOSEUP
Obviously whatever I was seeing isn't anything to worry about.
ALl gone
Anyone get a "heart" picture of our two eagles while they were in the nest just awhile ago?
Believe that was the sun, Deb.
I'm outta here too....(POOF!)
One eagle at CC I is feeding the 2 chicks. The other eagle is eating. Now the one that was feeding the chicks just flew off.
I sent a picture of the wing I was asking about through e-mail.
Jo, moose cam just updated and Scarface did drop the second antler.
Just checked in on the moose cam and it said that Scarface had lost his second antler sometime after ten this am. It showed a pic of him where it had come off, a pics of the two antlers together and told how much each one weighed. I don't know if any of you saw it or not.
DEB you and I thought of the lost antler at the same time. That is something.

Of course the one night I don't load IWS or Moosewatch, I have to check out stuff I learned from your comments.
I did load the SD Panda's, but Bai and ZZ's cam is absolutely dark tonight.

Oh, our chubby racoon is in PA.
And Jo, both owls in the nest box. Haven't seen both of them in there at the same time for quite a while!
Coon still on cam in PA.
Before I forget and the action starts today:

EAGLE, BWO
Oh wow, eagle just flew onto a branch, then flew into the nest at Norfolk. How cool was that! Beautiful. Oh, they can zoom!!
Cool, just went to color, oh and here comes the 2nd eagle. Now both in nest, rearranging whatever. What a beautiful pair.
Our kids are sleeping in this morning!
They're both doing nestorations. One is now on the branch, other still rearranging sticks.
NEW THREAD, COME ON OVER. DOOR IS OOPEN!
Cool pic in Norfolk. That nest is really blowing in the wind, though! One still on branch, one in nest.
Our beautiful babies are either sleeping in or they went out for breakfast!
