It's hard to see what the eagle is doing. At first I thought it was a juvenile, as its head was blending in with the branches. When it moved, you could see the white head.
Maybe it was a sub-adult. I wish I could take pictures. Paula says it takes special program and I can't add anything to this computer for fear of overloading it. I can't wait to get my new one.
Today is the first time in a long time that I have even looked at any other eagle cam but ours. Watched BW for a little while and now have the Maine cam up. Just heard an eagle call. Maine looks like it is still on its night vision with just being black and white.
Gotta keep an eye on the BW nest - Usually whenever the female spends the night is when we will get very very anxious to see an egg in the morning........ I usually check out their cam before I go to bed around 11:30 or midnight! Just in case...
Bird at Tesoro was sitting calmly on her nest when another eagle flew in. Looked like an intruder as she jumped right up. It picked something up and she grabbed it back. She has been sitting up, feathers ruffled looking all around. She has now flown off the nest. Maybe it was the mate because I can't imagine her flying off and leaving the chicks.
Oh well, I have to go grocery shopping since I didn't do it after church yesterday. Now my hubby just came and said to give him a few more minutes. :( :) Whatever. I'd just like to get over and done with.
I see the Tesoro eagle in the nest - really looking from side to side and all around as though upset about something. Have you seen anything else happening, Candy? Takes WMP so long to come up that I could have missed a lot..........
OH OH I'm so chuffed, arnt they just so beautiful, I love Live Streaming cameras, I get far to impatient waitnig for the seconds to pass for the next shot of the eagles on other cams.
It seems very windy at Audubon today, glad I'm not the one to sit in that nest !!!
I think the ladies are taking a Panda Nap. Maybe preparing dinner. Which is what I should be doing. I have been putting some photos of our snow of a few days ago on my blog and time has gotten away from me.
I'd be on all day if the time difference allowed pet,,,, But by this time of night I'm really starting to droop,, and I dont think you would like to see such a horrible thing.
But I do love to read back all the posts first thing in the mornings, but can't reply as your all still tucked up and cosey in your beds.
Oh well, never mind, I'll have to do my best in other ways pet..
Hey Deb, 3 days to S.D. the way we travel. Maybe will stop by and see your eagles and beavers on our way home from Las Vegas. Love the photos of your beavers. I have never seen a live beaver.
Unfortunately, my eagles leave the beginning of March. I wish they would stay all year. Some nesting pairs stay, but the GF&P keep the locations pretty secret. That was my first beaver in the wild. Thought it was going to be a duck, until I got close enough.
We have pictures of the pines (they were seedlings) going all the way from edge to end of 1 1/2 acre property. As you pull in drive where we use to live. The pines start there and go all the way back. Before sold for years there they were huge pine tree. Couldn't believe how fast they grew over the years.
Thanks Dana for the heads up on the weather. It looks like everyone within a 75 mile range will be getting the following: WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 4 PM EST TUESDAY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VIRGINIA HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TO 4 PM EST TUESDAY.
A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE REGION TUESDAY AFTERNOON. IN ADVANCE OF THE FRONT...LIGHT SNOW AND SLEET WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA TUESDAY MID-MORNING. SNOW WILL MIX FREEZING RAIN AND RAIN BY LATE MORNING. PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS WILL BE LIGHT. SNOWFALL WILL BE LESS THAN AN INCH AND FREEZING RAIN AMOUNTS WILL BE LESS THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
Deb, we are leaving here around March 1. We have to be in Vegas March 14, for a Costume Show and Convention. That is where we get to see all the new costumes for the coming Halloween Season. We will travel around the West Coast for about 3 weeks and then head home. If the weather allows, we would like to take the rout that takes us through South Dakota.
Dana, we got most of our Pines and Spruces from Spruce Pine Hollow, before they built houses there. It was our favorite spot in Berkely-Morgan county. We picniced there many times. I hated it when they started developing that area.
They might still be here then. Weather in March is very iffy. It can be springlike, or we can have some of the worst snowfalls of the winter--very wet and heavy. Last year March 1 and 2 shut down most of state, roads closed and everything. In SD you just never know what can happen. :(.
Well, Deb, now I am really disappointed. Your eagles will be gone and so will GLO'S. Maybe we will drive up to Alaska. They will probably be gone from there too.
Deb, how about the weather around April 1? Still iffy? I know this is a very bad time of the year for this trip. But it is a business trip, so we have no choice.
Last year, they were here before I left on vacation on March 5 and gone when I came back on March 12. It just depends on when you come,I guess. They may stay longer at Fort Randall Dam and at Oahe Dam. I am not sure about those places.
Back from grocery shopping. Got back to see hummer out of nest and looked like 1 white egg in middle ot the nest. I see where Leaves have come into the BWE nest. Also looking at poor Testoro parent still rocking in the winds. Deer in Pa cam and both our eagles in residence. Wow, what a day.
No DANA I didn't see that on the blog. They had a duck for dinner did they. Now that you mention it, it does look like feathers. Did you all see it get eaten?
Maybe a "short" few droplets of sleet.....I don't know lol I can't be there and here....but I did Mits see something...now remember you said you had seen a cat....I finally got the pic to prove it lmbo
DANA One day I saw stuff flying around on the deer cam and thought it was snowflakes. Someone else said that it was wind blowing the debris around the area.
DEB Birder did it! She went to KENT cam this evening & got beautiful photos of a visiting Eagle. I think it is Star - Spirit has a dark mark on left side of his head (I think) and I don't see it.
I must have just missed the eagle at the Kent nest, was watching quite a bit today, and then watched the moon rising over the nest. Did that person send the pic to Loraine, Deb???
I am off to bed...GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE PAULA, it was good seeing you yesterday, next time come when it is warmer and we will have dinner on the balcony and look for dolphin:)
LOL Mits - I didn't get much sleep last night either - phone call in the middle of the night - they were on their way to the hospital - and from the desription, I knew I couldn't make it for the birth - got two other calls - son sort of forget I was still at the beach...he thought for some reason I came back home Sunday night. I kept telling him I wasn't going to be able to make it...he finally realized I was still in OC
First pic on the cell phone came at 5:30 am....was great to get. Big brother wasn't sure at first....but was giving baby hugs and kisses before he left this evening...so all is very well!
Jo, I saw my name and Birder in the same sentence and just knew what news you had for us!! YEAH! That is so exciting and the pictures were so good! It would have been 6:15 Blog time that the visit happened, Mits.
Time to turn in. Baby Tessa has had two day in a row with a bit of improvment. So encouraging. She is still critical and needs our prayers. Prayers also for SANDRA and Dana & Ed's Brayden and anyone else who needs prayer.
Goodnight all. 8" of snow here with more on the way tomorrow night. The plows have been by and one of my kind neighbors did everyone on my end of the street's driveways tonight. (10 houses) He has a small John Deere with a big blower on the front. Men and their toys, you have to love them! (and be very thankful for them)

think it is eating
it really does look like a juvie, the way the camera is
I thinks so, too. I wish the other one would come in.
it also looked wet to me when it arrived
Gone.
It was hard to tell. I never could see white tail feathers, could you?
nope, could not see the tail feathers, but could see a white head, but looked like it had brown feathers on head also
WEATHER FOR MAINE NEST......
Rest of Today
Mostly sunny. Highs 15 to 20. West winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Wind chill values as low as 5 below.
Maybe it was a sub-adult. I wish I could take pictures. Paula says it takes special program and I can't add anything to this computer for fear of overloading it. I can't wait to get my new one.
Norma, divers again.
Today is the first time in a long time that I have even looked at any other eagle cam but ours. Watched BW for a little while and now have the Maine cam up. Just heard an eagle call. Maine looks like it is still on its night vision with just being black and white.
Did you get to see the eagle at Maine?
No, I missed the eagle at Maine.
That was only the second time I had seen one there, it looked really strange with the camera that way.
EAGLE ALERT - OUR NEST!
EAGLE ALERT, OUR NEST.
Belle just arrived.
Two
bOTH!
he Royal couple is in the house.
Belle looks HUGE...remember ladies, don't get so close to a camera or that is what we will look like. LOL
Belle lost her head...
WANDA I don't see any wrinkles on her like I have tho. l) She carries her age beautifully.
she looked like the headless eagle there for a sec
By Liberty
Candy, why do you think she has feathers?
She must be having a late lunch.
Whatever she is eating, must be good.
Wanda, I think she is having lupper!
Very Good Sharon!
Maybe she should go and take a little rest in the egg cup.
Something has her occupied at the moment. Wish shw would move so we could see what it is.
Maybe she just found some leftovers from breakfast.
Oh Oh! Just got back & signed on!
I bet nobody knew that there was
one large eagle eating in our nest
Both eagles at BWO.
Oh where oh where is our live cam. I am getting anxious.
yuck, think she IS eating the leftovers...frozen bunny
Well she just picked it up whatever it is.
OK Candy, she moved just for you...Still can't tell what it is.
Deb Am I suppose to see an eagle in the fir tree you now have?
I can't find him.
No, that is my backyard. I just took it.
Only o left at BWO. Maybe it went to the BWE nest. Yup, right on cue
Gotta keep an eye on the BW nest -
Usually whenever the female spends the night is when we will get very very anxious to see an egg in the morning........ I usually check out their cam before I go to bed around 11:30 or midnight! Just in case...
I have been trying to not study what she is eating. Bunnycicle probably.
roflmbo....Sharon
DEB, just looked at your pics fron the 8th to the 14th.....AWESOME!
Eagle at BWE is also headless just like Belle was - must also be eating.
Still one over at BWO also.
Thanks, Mits. I got lucky quite a few times.
Both!!
Belle has been eating well; her babies should be very healthy.
Wanda - we used to joke that Belle would be Too Full To Fly.
Meaning she would stay in the nest and lay those eggs!!!
Oh well, I have to go grocery shopping since I didn't do it after church yesterday. Now my hubby just came and said to give him a few more minutes. :( :) Whatever. I'd just like to get over and done with.
Candy - sometimes they just fly up a branch or so in the tree right above the nest. Was the one that flew in an adult eagle?
JO it looked like it . Now parent has come back and is sitting upright on the nest again. It is hard to watch with all the movement
BWE is sitting very comfy in her nest taking in the sun. Hope you see her there tonight Jo before you go to bed. :)
I see the Tesoro eagle in the nest -
really looking from side to side and all around as though upset about something. Have you seen anything else happening, Candy? Takes WMP so long to come up that I could have missed a lot..........
Liberty and Belle's heads looked all puffed up!
I saw a bird fly by in the background at Tesoro, she/he is very vigilant right now
Hanky Panky at our nest
Making whoopy again, did you all see that?
My sister says I am a sick voyeur, watching eagles do the nasty!
#@@#%$, was watching T
CC eagle in the nest.
I admit I am not sure of the site for CC1 & CC2..... I still just use
http://69.34.225.3/
I read on the BW site where one eagle stays with the nest and the other goes after the intruder.
that is CC #2, Jo
Well, I guess it is all over for now. It happened so fast. I saw that bird fly by in the sky too Mits.
Jo, sent you the link to cc#1
both eagles at CC#1

Sharon, you found the sign of an eminent Hanky Panky...their heads puff up! You are so observent.
Just like a man to leave when HIS work is done. LOL
CCl has the large chicks. They were flapping their wings this morning. I haven't seen any chicks at the CCll nest yet to see how many.
Well, Wanda, I had not even thought of that! Guess it is!
Well, now I know what to look for. Sharon did you get a pic> :)
Both eagles at BWE.
Candy, check your email!
Both eaggles in BWE nest now.

Looks like more snow/sleet in forcast. yuck
Hey Deb, 3 days to S.D. the way we travel. Maybe will stop by and see your eagles and beavers on our way home from Las Vegas. Love the photos of your beavers. I have never seen a live beaver.
Jo, I have always enjoyed looking at snow and now I know why. IT IS PEACEFUL. Never thought of it that way.
Now Wanda - you have seen me and I am a BLUEFIELD BEAVER! :)
good one, Sharon

Beautiful very vocal eagle heard at Maine.

must have had some kind of bird for dinner at BWE
well guess that was not the niht light on at MAINE, dark there now, just heard a duck
We rarely get snow after the middle of March and if we do, it doesn't last long.
Sure looks like the left-overs from a bird, doesn't it.
One eagle at BWO.
hummer nest still has egg, must have been seeing things earlier

Looks like something was in the Oregon nest today.

Candy did you see where some of us was saying that at BWE that is the left over duck feathers?
No DANA I didn't see that on the blog. They had a duck for dinner did they. Now that you mention it, it does look like feathers. Did you all see it get eaten?
Woooo is that sleet or rain at the deer cam?????
I didn't Candy but I remember the remains that Lisa had showed us. Also there was pics last year on the BWE pic log.
Dana, those horizontal lines are there alot...check out the weather to the left, says it is fair and 23°
No Mits it was the horizontal lines. It was droplets heading downward. Stopped now...I'll keep watching.
Wings flapping in CC I
Maybe a rain shower quickly passed through the deer cam.

Hey Paula, so much for your sleeping in this a.m.
I must have just missed the eagle at the Kent nest, was watching quite a bit today, and then watched the moon rising over the nest. Did that person send the pic to Loraine, Deb???
Sorry I meant, Jo!!!! Not Deb, was thinking of her pic of George yesterday.
Congratulations PAULA. There's nothing quite like a new baby in the family. So exciting. Looking forward to your photos.
