EagleCam now available at night January 24th, 2008A new infrared camera will allow people to view the American Bald Eagles at Norfolk's Botanical Gardens, even in the dead of night.
I saw the nest empty and thought I saw something move. I checked the blog and confirmed it. After I left the notes on here, I went back and caught a feeding. I sent out that picture.
Deer on PA cam, Tesoro back up and feeding. Hummer in and out feeding the new chick. Every once in awhile you can see it moving. Kent, sadly, still empty.
Thanks for the update on Eli, Paula. Even though it is very sad to have a life come into this world and get so much love just for being....it is a blessing to go up to God when he knows it is time - even just a short time. His family will be remember in prayer along with Nancy & Anthony.
Poor little baby Eli; he had to have struggled to keep that fagile little body going as long as he did. He is in heaven along with Baby Tessa and the angels. Prayers for those families.
This note was on the Maine Forum. I have been using the link they don't want us to use. I don't know how I got it, but I think it was one day when they were working on it. I remember talking about seeing the computer screen. I do know I gave it to a lot of you. OOPS. I will switch over so I can use the WMP for Tesoro and PH.
Hello eagle fans, I am with WVEC.com, the Norfolk Web site which provides the Eagle Cam streaming video in conjunction with Norfolk Botanical Garden and the Virginia DGIF.
I notice that someone has posted the direct link to our Windows Media Player stream. It's a simple matter to get this from the HTML code of the page and bypass the Web site. However, this practice does not support our efforts to continue bringing the Eagle Cam to the public, or help us to justify the expense to serve this stream out to a mass audience, and the time and effort required to make it available.
If you enjoy our Eagle Cam and would like to see it continue over the long haul, we respectfully request you view the camera through the Web site, http://www.wvec.com/cams/eagle.html.
No, I don't think so, anyway. I went to the Maine Forum to see if they said anything about Kent and found this. They did have it posted in their forum, so I am not the only guilty one. I wanted to post it, though, before we get a note from them, too.
WHOA! DEB! Just a few comments back I mentioned I couldn't get into the Norfolk cam using the newest link & that I best find the old one! Thanks for the old one Deb Now I won't get in trouble! Thanks for finding that article.
JIM - I know it is early for the Kent nest season BUT I haven't had any reply from Loraine as to what she thinks. Guess we'll give it another month before we give UP on it!
HELLO, back from downtown, nice party for hubby's Washington office that he works at, 100 years, told him with his 39 years, he probably remembers alot, got to see some people haven't seen in years and it was nice, good food too, and I didn't have to cook.
Going to head off to bed....big day tomorrow, our son is going to take a plunge in the freezing waters of the Chesapeake Bay for the Maryland Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge, in honor of our Little Maggie, and all the other specials needs children....so, GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
I am not sure. All I know is they were asked to stop using it on the Maine Forum. Would it be more expensive to have people use WMP, or is it the advertiser complaining?? Advertisers is my guess.

Mema Jo and Mits and whoever is in to the Kent nest, I took a look myself at their blog to see if anyone has seen the eagles recently.
As usual I thrashed around over there and didn't find much ... don't know what I'm doing wrong ... but I did find a pic of the adult male, I think, on the nest 1/21/2008. So they could still be planning to use the nest after all. [:~)

Norfolk cam is running on their regular webpage!!
New from Norfolk
EagleCam now available at night
January 24th, 2008A new infrared camera will allow people to view the American Bald Eagles at Norfolk's Botanical Gardens, even in the dead of night.
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SITE AT NORFOLK
We have a chick in the hummingbird nest. I thought I saw one, but wanted to be sure. I checked the hummingbird blog and one has hatched.
We have one chick!
I didn't quite get the capture I wanted here but I'm recording at home.
--Joe
YEA!!! FOR THE HUMMER....
THAT'S GREAT DEB!!----I checked on it this a.m.!!---Did you see it!!
WOW!!!
DEB---I just watched the CAT and the CROW!---Enjoyed !!--Should be titled: 'IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE'!
I saw the nest empty and thought I saw something move. I checked the blog and confirmed it. After I left the notes on here, I went back and caught a feeding. I sent out that picture.
Feeding at Tesoro
Guess they are still tweaking Norfolk - getting black screens
HELEN---SORRY ---(I'm doing laundry)---I have always thought the NORFOLK site was the best!!---Now with this nest built in this beautiful tree!---
DEB!---Aren't you the lucky one!---I was amazed when I got to see the tiny eggs!!---
I didn't get to see too much, it was just a little black spot that moved. The egg you see best on the cam is still there.
Hard to imagine how tiny the eggs & birds really are!----They are magnified so much!!!---I saw a hummer's nest---About the size of a quarter!!
Later!---must do some work here--You know--run sweeper, etc.
I was just going to ask if it looked like one Hummingbird egg was broken, but I read a few comments to the effect that one has hatched.
[:~)
The Santa Cruz pair is very active on their nest lately too.
Looks like a lot of the snow at BWE is melting away....
Jim
DIVERS--
Well, I've got to take care of business too. Talk to you later.
Jim
NORFOLK BACK UP
just saw someone walking by the Norfolk nest
Eagle at BWE.
BW MAMA....
Well, hello there Deb.
Just checking the nest before I go out for the evening and got this nice surprise.
She must be eating again.
I don't know how long she has been there. I just came on, too.
Hope your Mom enjoys the crab legs as much as you will, Wanda!!
I am headed out to the Pizza Hut WOW!
Our 3yr old Great-Grandgal's favorite.....
See you all Later.....
I see Lady Black Water in the nest
May be looking for her dinner........
Deb, she just flew in. She wasn't there the moment I clicked on that site, but came at the next refresh.
Thanks Jo, my Mom loves crab legs as much as I (almost). Enjoy your pizza and granddaughter.
I've got to go, darn it. DEB, if she lays an egg, call me, I'll be at the Chinese reataurant. LOL
I'll check in on her when I get back.
Thanks, Wanda. I must have gotten here at just the right time. Hope you both have good dinners.
Oh, our nest too!!
Both at BWE now.
How can I leave now? Just keep on walking, Wanda.!!
I'll keep track of them.
Just Belle now.
Belle is eating, BWE are chilling.
One gone from BWE.
Lady BW moved closer to egg cup, still standing.
Pretty sure she is standing by the shadow on the nest,
Both in our nest again.
I can't get into CC2 or Tesoro. Every other nest quiet.
Down to one in our nest, head down, don't know who it is. Maine is noisy, but mt.
well, gee Deb are you going to hold down the nests, I need to go out too.....TTYL
Darn, I thought I had another pair of eyes. Have a good time. I don't have to leave for awhile yet.
I think it is Belle still eating in our nest, broad back as Suzanne tells me.
Eagle our nest and
Eagle BWE
I think Lady BW is laying in the nest now, no more sunlight showing her legs.
Hey Paula, a little action all of a sudden.
Our nest is mt.
Both eagles at PH. BWE still laying in nest.
10 left PH, 26 still there.
Eagle still at BWE looks like Dad to me
Wanda said it was the mama, so I went with it.
Deb - that is the Lady at BWE??
Got it now...
You mean I have been waiting for the male to lay an egg. HA-HA
Hi all,
Just got home. Looks like we're still waiting.
Mom's been hanging around the nest a bit, so I guess we'll see if she spends another night.
Still feel hopeful we'll see something tonight or this weekend.
Lisa, who is in the nest now?
I'm not sure which is there now. I keep waiting for the bird to move so I can judge its size, but it's standing like a statue.
OK, thanks.
Both eagles in Norfolk.
BWE eagle has been in that same spot since 4:33.
It moved finally.
Gone.
Deer on PA cam, Tesoro back up and feeding. Hummer in and out feeding the new chick. Every once in awhile you can see it moving. Kent, sadly, still empty.
I'm leaving now for awhile. BBL.
If you look at Norfolk now, you can get a good idea of what it looks like at night
Maybe they will be back at BWE later!
From the IWS forum -
Little Eli tried so hard, but his little lungs just couldn't take any more. He passed away a few hours ago and is now sleeping with the angels.
Prayers please for Helen B and her family. Little Eli fought like baby Tessa, long and hard.
Thank you to everyone who lit a candle for Eli and prayed for him and his family
((((hugs))))
Thanks for the update on Eli, Paula.
Even though it is very sad to have a life come into this world and get so much love just for being....it is a blessing to go up to God when he knows it is time - even just a short time. His family will be remember in prayer along with Nancy & Anthony.
I just returned from Pizza and Ice Cream Cake with the dearest little
curly haired 3 yr old. Life is GOOD!
Yes, Jo, life is good and so were the crab legs.
My Norfolk cam is still buffering...
Maybe I should use the old url...
Would someone look at Kent Cam 2
& tell me if it looks as though there
is a new type of covering over the hole George had made ????
Poor little baby Eli; he had to have struggled to keep that fagile little body going as long as he did. He is in heaven along with Baby Tessa and the angels. Prayers for those families.
I'm not sure, Jo. Maybe something fell into the nest.
I'm going over to the Kent forum and the FTLOE forum to see any updates on the nest!
OUR nest and BWE nest are MT
Kent is MT too.
I can see the unhatched egg and the chick in the Hummer's nest. Momma must be out getting more food!
Ghost Whisperer time. BBL
Jo, I looked at the nest and compared it to the picture that Birder took.
The only thing I see is that it continues to fall apart. It is so sad.
8:30 nest report
Our nest & BWE nest are MT
Hi Deb - The Kent nest just looked as thought on Cam 2 that a pile of dirt or dark earth was covering the hole where George was hiding the nuts.
I need to go over to email for a few minutes....... BRB

So, Mema Jo, what did you learn of the Kent pair and their nest??
It looks abandoned at the moment, but is it really?
Jim
That's you they're talking about, Deb??
Jim
Was it on the Maine site or the Norfolk site, Deb?
Jim
No, I don't think so, anyway. I went to the Maine Forum to see if they said anything about Kent and found this. They did have it posted in their forum, so I am not the only guilty one. I wanted to post it, though, before we get a note from them, too.

Yea, so what is the big deal whichever way you view it?
I'm sure that advertisers help fund the cam. If we want them to keep getting the money they need, I will use their site.
I checked the link on the momsters page and it is the one they have here. I will send it out.

Since everything she had gotten at shower was pink. I stopped and got a Contragulations "It's a bouncing hopping Baby Boy" and also got a Blue boys pacificer. Made her and Dad happy. Guess you can tell I am thrilled and happy for this bundle of little boy.
