Well I guess I am the next one to head for bed. The morning comes too early. Hope you all have a nice evening, the loon finaly gets comfy on her new egg, and all will be right with the world. Tomorrow brings a new day and a new beginning.

Lynne, it was so cool! She was in the perfect position to watch. I suspected from her motions that it was about to come. Sure enough! And, she has been in this awkward position ever since.
I guess she is either recovering or getting ready for another!
I think she is recovering and the egg needs to dry. She is doing her thing!

I missed Mom scootching the egg up underneath herself also !
She was in that awkward position for 30 minutes. Just watched her now try to roll the egg. It was funny, kept rolling back and then she just sort of fell on the egg.

wow, this is weird. I saw my first Blue Grosbeak today and so did Tracey...only she found a dead one outside of Irvine that appears to have flown into the big glass window :(
You know, I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a Blue Grossbeak! What a beautiful bird, LYNNE!
I knew there was, but never DREAMED I'd see any! It's been 15 years since my last Rosebreasted and Evening GB sightings.
Had a good day with GG...hip is a little better, but she now has a chest cold & cough...keeping a close eye on that!

Guess I'm getting here late enough that I've missed a bunch of you!
Just got home from school a little while ago, and have been trying to catch up. Wow, thank you for your school prayers for me! I got an A on last week's English exam! Thank God!
Talked with the Dean of Admissions when I went to school (early, on purpose). He said that he wants me to keep him in the loop so he can monitor the situation. He said that a lot of transcriptionists who have their own business often work "in their pajamas"--but he will check out this person anyway. He says he has a couple of possible Externship positions for me. One, I think, is with a transcription service that deals with the police dept. a lot, and that does a lot of reports regarding people who have been raped and/or sexually abused. The other one he mentioned might be at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach. He's going to see the lady at the first place tomorrow, so will keep me posted. He said that she might even offer me a job once she sees how I do. Please say some prayers!!! It would be WONDERFUL to have a paycheck again after 3+ years of unemployment! The Dean wants me to drop off the cassette tapes to him when I go to school tomorrow. He will see whether the computer guru at the school can get them onto CDs. So, I guess things are looking much better!
Well, I'm pretty brain weary after school, so think I'll adjourn to the living room for some mindless TV and unwind.

I agree with the President's decision on the photos. These things always bring out the conspiracy theorists and they won't be convince any picture is authentic anyway ! Glad he and his security people do not want to do anything that will put our precious troops in more danger.

My first chuckle of the morning, one of the three former NBG eaglets (or Threeaglets) doing his wingercizes.
I'm in complete agreement on visiting each other, Lori. Columbus is beautifully located on I70, the major crossroad for anyone heading Westward. Dana has already promised to grant me a few minutes of her time on one of her trips to Dayton Univercity late this summer. Lynn has also said she'll visit if and when she heads for St. Louis for time with her Mom. The welcome mat is out at all times for any Momster or Dadster !

Thanks for the open invitation, Lori ! I'm tentatively entertaining the idea of an Open House in the Fall visit. I know some of you plan to gather in June if at all possible, but my June is booked solid. :( However, I will be in town, so can arrange to see any of you passing through Columbus in June !
The ducks are becoming a problem. Yesterday they didn't show up, but just now I turned around to a racket in the pool (I thought the dogs jumped in) only to find 7, yes, 7 ducks in my pool. The Flying labs have been given strict instructions that ducks are not allowed in the pool and they should make sure they see to it that they do not become permanent residents! They are bird dogs dang it!
Oh KAY you would also be close to Dana at my place!
Oh, Dana, isn't it a shame the ducks are attracted to your pool when there are plenty of natural watering holes in the area ? BooHiss ! A single dog would probably send out the alarm, but when we have two or more they are often more keyed in on each other than anything else. That tidbit was shared with me years ago by a vet. She said, "if you want a watch dog, just adopt one dog".
Yippee ! I'm getting another granddog/grandson day today. Julie was able to get a hair appt. this afternoon. I'm also looking forward to the weekend as I'll have Malcolm with me from 3 p.m. tomorrow until about 5 p.m. on Sunday. It will be his first time for an overnight away from home since adopted Dec. 20th.
I didn't always follow that vet's advice, by the way. There was a time when I had a standard long haired doxie, a dobie and a Heinz 57 mutt all at one time.
All three were rescue dogs, catching me during a period of time when I just could not say no.

Lori, Malcolm is estimated to be 2 years old. We didn't know at adoption time if he was trained in any way, but it turned out he was. Someone had done a good job with him. He'd not been neutered and has a tracer chip that had never been activated. Wish he could talk and tell us about his first couple of years !
