Hi, Paula.

Well, we just split. How about that?

Back for my evening visit.

Hoda, your sentence was hilarious. This group is very good at "reading" what is written rather than what is truly intended. Just had a mental picture of you planting clothes in your flower containers and growing clothes rather than flowers. Anyway, thanks for the laugh. Prayers for Slave Lake residents.

Wanda, I am so sorry that GG was in so much pain. Also sorry you have spent 12 hours in the ER. I'll send related email in the morning.

I hear the stealthy approach of the sandperson coming down the hall. It is time for me to catch the news and drift off to sleep.

The night light is on for those headed back the hallway, to the tub, upstairs to bed, to the recliner for a snooze, and anyone stumbling in from the West Coast. Please close the door quietly.

Restful sleep for all.

stronghunter said...

Good night, Judie.

Hmm, I would like to be able to grow clothes. How about some seeds for a few summer outfits?

Lynne2 said...

Oh wow, watching the devastation in Joplin, MO. Tornado, many many injured, fatalities, most of the town destroyed. Prayers for them....so awful

paula eagleholic said...

Had a great drive home from the beach...there must have been some sort of car show in OC...saw a bunch of classic cars on the ride home...mustang, chevelle, Bel Air, camaro...

Oh, I forgot to tell you I won a $25 gift certificate to the new Wegmans that is opening up...entered their "5 word" contest about Wegmans...my five words were...."Fantastic Service Friendly Knowledgable People"

Hoda said...

Judie, laughter is very good and I am glad for it when ever it is around...
Stronghunter, that would be grand to grow clothes...I like the idea...keep laughing all, I am...

Lynne2 said...

read back far enough to see that GG was in the ER today...hope she has gotten some pain relief.

Think I'm just going to use my laptop without the battery in it. It's shutting down every 15 minutes or so of inactivity.

Lynne2 said...

So SHirley, lightning bugs can have different colors? I SWEAR I saw a red one when I was a little girl!

The ones we saw tonight were in the woods when we were walking the dogs, but none in the fields or the yard at all. They were standard yellow, although one did look orange!

Hoda said...

Welcome home Paula...are you finished with the painting? Did you spend much time walking on the beach...is the water warm enough to swim? You speak of Nugz swimming, have you been in yet?

Lynne2 said...

terrible about the fires at Slave Lake, Hoda.

Early work tomorrow so I'm heading to bed...good night and prayers for you all!

stronghunter said...

Yeah, the prof spoke about red ones, if I recall correctly.

paula eagleholic said...

I didn't see any red lightening bugs, but did see regular ones this weekend.

the water felt good...walked in it up to my knees, but didn't go swimming...Nugz did! Got some pictures to post.

Not much beach to the south, basically just the house next door.

Almost done painting...have the master bath and my bedroom and one closet to finish...oh and the laundry area, too.

Oh, my brother got to see the eagle this weekend...it was a juvie flying out front, along the waters edge.

stronghunter said...

One night my children took me out to one of their favorite places by the water. There were many lightning bugs flying all around and resting on the bushes. Others were floating on the water.

They had tried to fly across and had gotten too tired to make it. The ones on the bushes were resting from their long journey.

I had never thought about them getting too tired and having to rest, but there they were.

stronghunter said...

I want to do some painting when I get finished with school.

stronghunter said...

My whole house--except the living room needs painting. We also have to re-do Hunter's room. It was not set up for a 10-year-old boy, and there has not been time to fix that.

stronghunter said...

Just looked it up. Yes, there are red lightning bugs, and orange ones, too.

stronghunter said...

I can just see Dr. Pinschmidt sitting out there watching fireflies on a summer evening.

paula eagleholic said...

Hope Margy has a nice time visiting her sister...

I think the overheating batteries were Dell....

15 days for Shirley...whoo hoo!

Hoda, terrible knews about Slave Lake...

Weather was just gorgeous at the beach this weekend...dodged any rain.

stronghunter said...

And taking notes.

stronghunter said...

A fun way to do research.

stronghunter said...

Yes, Paula. I am having a hard time getting the work done at this point.

stronghunter said...

Kids asked my about senioritis when I was in school. I did not have it then, but I do now.

paula eagleholic said...

Hoda...Yes, they are doing a study of what the eagles eat at the Catalina nests

Wanda, sorry GG had a sciata flare up, but hope she can find some better relief.

paula eagleholic said...

Oh, and there aren't any lightening bugs in CA either, JudyE

paula eagleholic said...

Shirley,, you have retiritis!!

stronghunter said...

Love it, Paula!! A new Momster word. Retiritis!!

stronghunter said...

Well, those folks in Florida, California, and California are missing something very nice. I like lightning bugs.

Oh,no, planning on a quick check for prayer requests and finding I need to ask for one myself. A dear friend since age 13, Shirl, lives in Joplin, MO. She's in an old downtown 4 or 5 story building which was converted to senior living several years ago. Shirl and I have stayed in close touch through her many moves around the country and my own. She's a month younger than I, but has had a couple of strokes, can't walk and is blind. She moved to Joplin in about 2005 to be near a daughter who has since moved to FL. Shirl elected to stay in Joplin with Earl, a spousal equivalent since 2007. He takes good care of her. She called me this morning to see if I'd been "raptured" or not, all full of good humor and jokes as always. Now I can't get through, of course, as power and phone lines are down. Will keep trying tomorrow, but meantime please remember them in your prayers.

The pictures of the main hospital there show nearly complete devastation. As I recall it's not too far from her apt.. :(

Where are these guys in the winter? we can get 'em then, they are somewhere warm, what is warm? You're house !!!! trust me!!! if you have vinyl siding you house is COVERED completely with these guys. this winter i did an addition and peeled off the siding......... every square foot was covered with these guys sleeping. piles of them. they were laying on the sheetrock under the insulation on the ceiling everywhere !!!!!!!!!!! if you see one inside your house then I can reassure you your house is covered. I believe the problem can be solved if we can figure out a way to get them in the winter when they are inside your house. i mean look down from a plane and you will see thousands of warm houses and not much else that's warm in the winter. I hope the right person reads this. If you do and need some "out of the box" thinking, please contact me ! DrDexpert@yahoo.com

Hi, Everyone,
Dropping in to say goodnight. It has been a busy, fun day today, and I'm tired. It was overcast ("May gray") here today, and nice and cool, so late this morning we took Emma to the dog park. She had a FANTASTIC time! She made friends with a blond cocker named Winston, 3 corgis, several shih tzus, a couple of rat terriers, 2 poodles, 2 pit bull puppies, and a long-haired mini doxie. The little doxie was a rescue, who had been rescued about 3 weeks ago. She had never been out of her cage, and initially was scared to walk on grass. She's adjusted very well, and was enjoying herself immensely. God bless the couple who adopted her! They also have a 7-1/2- yr.-old golden retriever named Harry.
Emma made friends with everyone! She was so tired after a couple of hours, that she fell asleep on the way home!

Heavy-duty prayers for the residents of Slave Lake, Alberta. Hope they can put the fire out soon!

Prayers for Joplin, MO residents, too. Tornados scare me half to death!

Also, prayers for Thelma & Sharon, and for GG and Wanda! Hope GG feels better tomorrow!

Lynn, getting ready to watch Tom Selleck's movie. I like him too!

Lynne2, prayers for Steve's and your situation! Hope you can work something out with the landlord.

Loretta, hope your knee is doing much better! Prayers!

Hope they get our cam fixed tomorrow!
God bless their efforts!

Prayers for everyone, and all creatures. Making sure the porch light is on. Enabling both security systems. Sleep soundly, everyone, and I will talk to you tomorrow. God bless, and goodnight. Love all of you! :o]

Now I'm wound up and won't be able to get to sleep for a while. I dozed off and on in front of the TV from 6:00 to 11:00. Will still try to be up with the Early Birds, but may not make it.

WANDA, so sorry GG had such a rough day. She's on the permanent prayer list, but will double stress it tonight ! Another thing, how did you manage to send that invisible message to LYNN ? The rest of us would like to know what you think of Sully, too ! ☺

HODA, dear, ♪♫♫ We never promised you a clothes garden. ♫♪♫ If you insist I recommend, Blue Bonnets, Queen Anne's Lace and Lady Slippers for starters. That bit just kept getting funnier the longer it went on. JUDIE is a card !

I'm late, as usua,l but want to add my prayers for all victims of fire and storms.

Kay, love the way you think. would be great to listen to you and Judie together with your quips, etc. Hoda, you also fit in beautifully. I so enjoy the laughs.

Shirley, counting down with you.

Paula, I'm glad Nugz is well enough to enjoy an occasional swim and you to at least put your feet in the water. Good luck with the rest of the painting and as I said before, I'm sooo jealous!

Wanda, special prayers for GG. I have the same "condition" and hope she gets some relief soon. God bless her and you for being there for her.

Some good news to share~! We finally had a hummer in to our feeder and Max & Teresa got to see him.

Also, my white peonies DO have a nice smell so my "sniffer" is working after all. The dark ones have opened up and the center looks like a sea anemone(?sp). Thought I had to find Nemo in there.

Margy, hope you're enjoying your visit with sister, Anne. Safe travels to and from.

Let me see, who have I forgotten??
This halftimers is causing me great concern and don't want to leave anyone out, so I'm praying for all of you for your needs and wants.

Wishing all a goodnight and God bless.

Tomorrow going to do the BIG patio clean. Going to haul everything off, scrub really well, then put the sealer on the tile. Always looks so good when finished but what a job!!! Jack will help with moving the furniture, grill, potting bench, etc, but the cleaning is up to me.

Love our new Momster word: RETIRITIS...LMBO! Don't think there is a cure for that:)

Diann...I can sympathize with you and the loss of gardening...my knee has severely limited my gardening time. I have a tray full of flowers for GG's garden and that is probably all I will do this year. Need to find a way to get a new knee!

I have so enjoyed the comments from this morning and this afternoon. You newbies are terrific and, of course, our regulars are so special, always!

Lynne, I think you are always the first one to see lightning bugs. I still love your photo of the lightning bug shining throught the flower petals...outstanding!

Good Morning WANDA! Love and prayers for GG. Bless your heart for being so good to your mother. A whole day in the ER is not any fun.

PAULA - Love seeing your beach pictures and NUGZ looks like he's doing fabulous, and so happy!

LOLLY - if you have some extra yellow Columbine seeds, I'll trade you for some of my beautiful royal/dark purple Columbine seeds.

Lori O. said...

KAY - just read this on CNN about Joplin tornado:

"Residents 70 miles away from Joplin in Dade County, Missouri, were finding X-rays from St. John's in their driveways, said Foreman, indicating the size and power of the twister."

They gave links to local stations, and one contained this:

"There are multiple reports of people being trapped in cars and in buildings. The Red Cross has a page set up to help you find people you know who might be missing, and to report yourself as being safe. The page is at redcross.org/safeandwell ."

Dearest KAY, this station - www.nbcactionnews.com reported about an hour ago that there were at least 24 fatalities and the tornado was up to a mile wide, believed to be an F5 and hit St. John's Hospital directly. Shirl could be injured, or she could be okay and unable to communicate as reports said cell service was very spotty.

I will say prayers for Shirl and Earl and I'm sure everyone else on the blog will too. You know Momster prayers are very powerful -for some reason, God loves us!
Please keep us posted.

You have my email address if you need help looking for Shirl I will put on reporter's cap and gladly help with phone calls or whatever you need.

A BIG HUG!

Good Morning LORI !

Thank you so much for your kind offer to help me find info on the Joplin disaster and Shirl and Earl in particular. No listing for them yet on the Red Cross site, but I'll keep checking. I've read everything I can find, the link you gave me, The Joplin Globe and others. I recognize some of the buildings described from a brief visit in 2007, but haven't zeroed in on any in her location. I'm thinking after daybreak there will be some discoveries and more news. I'll start trying to phone and do so periodically as long as it takes. I know she will, if able, get word out to her children and brother. I'll put in a call to him a little later, too, asking that he let me know when he hears something. They all live in OK,TX and GA. I misspoke when telling about her daughter's move--it wasn't to FL, but to GA.

If I think of a way you can help I will take you up on your sweet offer ! It does help to know I have prayer partners in you and many other Momsters. I agree that is a powerful force !

One hopeful sign is that Joplin's Memorial Hall is being used for a shelter and information center. It is in the same old downtown area her building is in.

I'll keep you informed as I find new information.

It's soooooo good to have you back ! {{{{{{{{{LORI}}}}}}}}}}

One of the ThreEaglets from NBG is on the ground in their enclosure at WCV.
They were all on their branches, wingercizing and hopping around so maybe he fell off. I didn't see it. Let's see if he makes it back up. Good thing the nest is only 4 feet off the ground!

Lori O. said...

I forgot to post that last one - got distracted watching the eaglet on the ground. He/she has been trying to get back up for the last 15 minutes. The other two in the nest are just standing sooo still watching him. :)

Judy, it'll be warm, mid 80's and humid (yuck) here today too. So, we'll be sweating with you.

Lori O. said...

Poor people just waking up and checking the 3 eaglets at WCV are probably freaking out that there appears to be only 2 eaglets - the moderated discussion isn't manned right now.

Today's nest weather- Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of showers this morning... then showers likely with scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent. Currently 86% humidity. Summer time weather!
Have a great day!

Joplin death toll soars:

JOPLIN, Mo. - The massive tornado that struck the southwest
Missouri city of Joplin killed at least 89 people. City manager
Mark Rohr announced the number at a pre-dawn news conference
outside the wreckage of a hospital that took a direct hit from
Sunday's storm. Rohr said the twister cut a path nearly six miles
long and more than a half-mile wide through town.

Lori O. said...

The eaglet at WCV has been put back in the nest. There's 3 again. :)

A moderator came on earlier to say:
Shoebutton♥: Good morning - it appears that an eaglet has stumbled a bit backwards and then fluttered down to the ground....has been under the nest and then walking around a bit.

Don't worry - the eaglet will be fine and is safe! I'm sure the WCV staff when they go to feed the eaglets today are going to get a big surprise when they enter the enclosure. lol

Please don't make a ton of calls to the Wildlife Center - there is no need - this is not an emergency of any sort. Our eaglet is now discovering what the remaining part of the enclosure is all about. Should be interesting to see if he or she discovers those steps over on the right. I'll be curious to find out which eaglet it is - I'm thinking it may be NV.

Lori O. said...

MARGY - I hope you enjoyed your visit with your sister, and that she's well.

SHARON & THELMA - Prayers that both of you will get the rest you need. Lots of BIG HUGS!

LEISL - Keep your Mom entertained today. Be a good girl & help her with her long chores list.

LYNNE - Praying for you that hard times become great times quickly!

NUGZ, LUNA & EMMA - tell your Mom's Aunt Lori said it's okay it you have an extra cookie today.

Good Monday AM.

Answer from Randy to my email Friday:

Hi Lynn:

Sorry, but I don't have any info on the camera.
I tried our closed circuit TV and it is also off line.

I'm guessing our tech guys are working on it.
I think Steve is coming back today and will
likely update the blog with any new info.

Randy

So, considering that Jo said they usually have closed-circuit TV transmission even when 'net view is down, sounds like this is a serious problem.

hedgie said...

LOL----from WCV re: NBG eaglets:
Heads up ... an eaglet is under the nest! Looks like we're starting out this week with some adventure. The staff have been informed and will be in shortly. Now, there IS a perch-ramp system back up to the nest ... so we'll see if she/he figures it out in the meantime.

Kay said...

Hallelujah ! Still storming here, but had to take a chance and let you know, I just talked to Shirl n' Earl ! "We are just fine and in a little blessed pocket of peace here in downtown Joplin", she said. They are one block from the Memorial Hall mentioned as a shelter/info center. Their building has an underground garage so even their car is fine. OMG, my heart is pounding so hard, what a relief. Obviously they have the land line phone and their radio for contact with the outside world. Otherwise they plan to stay put in side while the town reels with the after effects. She says about 30% of the town was wiped out and that the touch down and wide swathe began only about 8 blocks east of them. Thank you all for the prayers ! Many there still need them, but Shirl n' Earl are AOK !

Judie said...

Good morning, everyone.

Have checked a few critter cams. Five Kestrel babes are doing fine and had breakfast. Sidney chicklets are looking good in the morning sun. Hornsby babes are growing and mom and dad seem to be a bit grumpy this morning. NBG male NV tried to show off and had an "oops" moment trying to fly. All three looking good. Isla and EJ are not sharing a view of anything other than themselves.

Kay said...

Happy to see NV is back in the nest after a bit of showing off for his sisters ! They are such a joy to watch.

Sirens screaming up and down the main street three blocks away, but storm seems to have moved eastward. Another round expected this afternoon.

Here's hoping we get back to a normal, everybody present, early bird fest at SSCC tomorrow ! Complete with cam and a visit with Belle and Truder.

HAGD all and thanks again for your support and prayers !

On a happier note, Andy, so happy Emma is such a social butterfly.

Kay, SO very glad to hear that Shirl and Earl are okay. Whew----know it's a relief for you.
What utter devastation out there....looked on the map last night and did not realize that Joplin "is where it is"----for some reason I had thought it was more in the southern part of the state.
Also saw on late news that Indianapolis had a twister yesterday, too.

Our storm last night--early this AM by the time it actually hit--was just garden variety thundestorm. Not bad at all.

L of L's (Isla) is blowing SO hard that it's very painful to watch. Chrissy says that first egg is probably not viable. :(

From an email I got, it appears that wv sUSAn's email has been hacked....beware!!

hedgie said...

Loch Garten (EJ) also being blown like crazy---sound is awfully rugged!

hedgie said...

Sharon, bet it feels marvelous to be getting re-settled. How is T-bird this morning?? And how is your "former" cyst?

hedgie said...

Judie, our parks (except for one within city limits) are all basically out in the country, so no neighbor objections would be valid. Parks and Rec is concerned about liability (DUH---signs that say NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR......etc. covers that garbage!) and expense. Well, pointed out that fence, and sanitation stand is all that is required, aside from mowing, which they have to do anyway!

Good Morning Friends ( :

I may have a prayer answered for where I can go for some spiritual time. Got to check it out first.

Need to catch up on some comments in blog.

That Panda movie on Animal Plantet did make me cry. Hated to see they had the pandas attack the one they released. Then on 2nd release the other wild pandas killed it. Worried about our babies we are sending back from the US.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Have been on for a while just reading the blog.

Welcome back Lori! Lori, can probably send you yellow columbine seed. Will gather more seeds today. Wanda sent me purple seeds two years ago and they bloomed for the first time this year. I have a wee bit of WV in my garden!☺ What I want now is blue columbine.

Kay, so happy that your friend is Joplin is AOK. Really so sad about the hospital getting a direct hit. Wow!

Lori, there you go again, handing out those doggie treats. LOL Going to have the chubbiest pets around.☺

paula eagleholic said...

Kay, so happy your friends are OK, saw video on the Today show this morning, looks awful.

Sure hope Steve can give us an update on the cam today.

Dana, hope you can find your "peaceful place".

Lolly said...

Not sure if I am going to do the patio today or not. Just heard thunder, and it has clouded up. Probably going north of us again, though.

paula eagleholic said...

WVSusan's email has been hacked, she is not in Spain!! Same crap they tried to pull on my FB account.

hedgie said...

Forgot to tell you that I saw on FB last night that Phoebe's nest has another egg in it....wonder if it's new or an old dud...

Yep....wv sUSAn verified on Fb that her email account has been hijacked.

NOTHING on trail cam....it didn't do anything! Gotta check the book and see what I did wrong! :(

Lolly said...

Oh, wow, that was cool! Just saw one of the NBG eaglets wingersizing and flew from one side of the nest to the other. They are getting so big.

Lolly said...

Uh oh, Lynn. Was wondering if you had any pictures yet. Figured you would check it right away.

hedgie said...

Lori is quite astute! Did you notice that she did NOT include Liesl in her treat give-away?? This chubby pup sure doesn't need any more treats! Good Aunt Lori!

Lolly said...

I need a cam now for my front porch. I have a little decorative bench out there. On it I have had two bird nests that I have found on the ground. Recently something had bothered the nests. Just now found one totally destroyed and the other upside down on the tile.Hmmmmmm?????

Lolly said...

Tell you what, Lynn. Give Liesl a scracth behind the ears, and a nuzzle from Aunt Lolly!

Lolly said...

scratch!!!

Lolly said...

Off to eat breakfast. Waiting to see if it clears up before starting the patio. After scrubbing it clean, it has to dry before putting the sealer on the tile. Will not dry in this weather!

hedgie said...

Don't know if anyone else watched, cares or has an opinion, BUT....watching the 60 Minutes interview with cyclist Hamilton and his allegations against Lance Armstrong......IMHO, he's a damn liar. Shifty eyed, constant blinking, hesitations rather than immediate answers.....what say you, Judie, if you watched?

Good morning,

Still barely morning here. Soon to be afternoon. I came back to find that 4 of my students were rude and disrespectful to the substitute. They will have explaining to do to the administration. They have sometimes been rude to me as well, so I did not hesitate to turn them in.

My honors class is making children's books, but they have to write satire. We used Dr. Seuss's "Butter Battle Book" as an example. I had one heck of a time getting hold of a copy, but got one from the library. (Shipped from Colonial Beach.) It has a theme similar to Jonathan Swift in Gulliver's Travels. Basically, I want the students to understand satire.

I will be doing practice SOL stuff with the juniors. Basically, I want them to pass the test. I have two different tests because the Bl. 3 class will tell Bl. 4 and they will get the answers off a computer and cheat on the practice. Does anyone see a logical problem with cheating on a practice test???

Kay, so glad that your friends are okay. That situation looks awful.

Good 'almost not' Morning.
Just had a visit from the Hummer.
They are just a miraculous little
bird!

Sharon - so glad you are back in WV. I know you probably have lots
to do with the house - but it is already a Home.

Hey I have some what of a silly question My head still spins with everyone Who is on first what on second etc pen names and given names being different -----Lori on facebook says she from Washington, District of Columbia and Lori on the blog says she lives in Md are they one in the same I noticed both went to Fl so I think the same person am I right and just the home towns don't match Just trying to match up people from facebook to the blog trying to get straight
and sorry LORI for the confusion on my part
Thanks for the update from NCTC about the camera
And did the people at NBG put the eagle in or did he get in himself??

hedgie said...

Okay, Lolly, Liesl has been scratched!!

Shirley, fun, fun, fun....NOT! Well, it's almost over.....let someone else worry about the cheaters next year!!!

Hi, Jo! Saw my hummers a few minutes ago. But never the males anymore. ????

Up to 73° here....sun in and out. Little breeze.....under a severe storm watch for the entire day. MTBR.

JudyEddy said...

Hey last night I googled lightening bugs and they do say that they can be found in Fl shows that area of map I guess we just don't see them maybe in a wooded area might see them

JudyEddy said...

Lori looks like you brought some of our heat and humidity with you from vacation I think Fl is getting hotter each year when I first moved here I don't think it was this hot Of course that is just my opinion

Can not believe it is dark as night, thunder loud, and we are not getting a drop. Cell actually went north of us through Fort Worth and now Dallas, but it is dark as night here!

Been out gathering more seeds, columbine and poppy. Larkspur are just starting to go to seed. Tooks some pictures while outside. The garden is constantly changing with what is in bloom. Hate to see the end of the larkspur, my favorite, but right now the purple cone flower is just beautiful and my Easter lilies are blooming too.

Lolly said...

As disappointed as I am that it is not raining on my yard, I am happy it is raining on the lakes around Fort Worth and Dallas.

Hoda said...

JudyE... What update from NCTC about the camera? I missed it what did they say?

Hedgie, I am glad you thought the guy who is accusing Lance Armstrong of doping was lying. I thought the same thing and I could not help but observe his hard swollowing and the constant drying of the sides of his mouth...Is it because he broke the code of silence or is it because he is lying? What is it about 60 minutes that makes it thrive on knocking down modern American heroes? They did the same thing to the guy who wrote THREE CUPS OF TEA...Mortenson, I can not remember his first name...I used to think 60 minutes is reliable and now I wonder if it is like tabloid jounralism? They have had it on the internet for over a week now...Has PBS covered this story and what do they say?

If anyone knows about news of the camera would you post it again or direct me as to where it is? I just visited the site and it is still off...I would presume Steve has a lot of "work" related things to catch up to before he gets to the camera if he is the one who is going to fix it...

hedgie said...

Finney1 mom is acting like something UNDER her is bothering her....inquisitive looks....a little mantled....she stood part way foronly a brief second....thought I MAYBE saw some fuzz.........

OH DEAR!!! The New York Times reports that the tornado toll is up to 100 dead...God receive their souls and sustain their families and friends...

paula eagleholic said...

Hoda, don't think we have any updated news about the cam...

Hoda said...

Thanks Paula.

Judie said...

Just a quick skim of comments.

Sharon, let things rest for a while and just enjoy the view. Hope T-Bird is improving. Welcome home, lady.

JudyE, heat and humidity never bothered me until I got old. Now, can't tolerate either. Not sure but I think Lori works in D.C. and may live in MD. Either way, we like her.

Shirley, cheat on a practice test? Why not? Cheaters are cheaters. So cannot wait for you to be finished. I can see a girl-day coming us for us.

Morning, Jo.

No, Lynn. I didn't watch the interview but I do have some doubts about the truthfulness of Hamilton.

Need to check out Phoebe's nest. Looked empty a day or two ago.

Lynn, about the dog parks. That should be easier than around here. People can really become polarized pro and con. Sometimes get nasty.

Dana, hope you find a place for peace and tranquility and acceptance.

Judie said...

Just got a call from Margy. She's with her sister and out and about picking lettuce and garden stuff. Sounds like they are having some quality time. Said she'll be coming in the blog door tonight or tomorrow morning.

hedgie said...

JudyE----Lori lives in MD, but works in DC.
Yes, they put the NBG eaglet back in the nest!

hedgie said...

Only cam news was what I posted from Randy this AM---thry don't have a feed on closed-circuit tv at NCTC, either.... :(

Judie, is Margy coming to visit you? Maybe you could watch the interview online.

Thanks, Hoda....not sure if PBS has done anything or not. I am truly disappointed in 60 Minutes, too. It has become more tabloid sensationalism and "investigative" than ever before---guess it is the times we live in.....someone always trying to find/get dirt on famous people.

stronghunter said...

Judie, many things these kids do defy logic. I guess cheating on a practice test is just one of them. When someone who is failing the class suddenly gets a 100% on a practice test, I am suspicious.

Girl day sounds wonderful. I am so ready to end this year.

Tired of fart noises.

Tired of detailed descriptions about why someone needs to go to the restroom.

These people are not to the wannabe adult stage yet. They just wannabe lazy.

Judie said...

Beautiful view of Phoebe's newest egg.

Mema Jo said...

Reading past comments more thoroughly now - I wonder if the
school kids know that Teachers also
have 'count down days'!
Shirley - give it all you got these
last few days and in turn you will
have your freedom with no regrets.

Cam must be really hurting if the in-house camera is also down........

Judie said...

No, suggested she spend all her time with Anne. She just doesn't have enough time and family take priority. We can get together another time.

I understand the reason for suspicion. Just like my foreign student who can barely manage a simple sentence producing papers that are very near professional quality. Yep, girl day headed our way.

Rarely watch 60 Minutes anymore. Will look for interview online.

Good Morning/Afternoon, Everyone!

I'm SO happy to hear that Shirl and Earl are OK! Praise God!--and their car is OK, too! Prayers continue for the people of Joplin, MO.

Can't forget to pray for Slave Lake, Alberta, also. Those folks have really been through it, too.

Sharon, isn't it great to be HOME?!!
What they say is really true: There's NO PLACE like HOME!!!!

Lynn, I wish you had a dog park, too!
It is a Godsend for us, since Emma has SO much energy to burn! She looks like a liver and white blur running after tennis balls! Truly cannot believe how fast she is! Our park is set up extremely well. There is a section for small and medium dogs, and a larger section for big dogs. Both areas have entrances with double gates so no dogs escape. There are large trees providing shade in the small/medium dog area, and park benches set in small concrete slabs for seating. Each bench has a large water bowl for the dogs. Each area has its own water faucet for refills. There are several "cleanup" stations, with pick-up bag dispensers, poop scoops, and large trash cans. There are well-aged tennis balls everywhere, and a few rope chew toys, too. The whole place is surrounded by a 6-foot-high chain link fence. It's open 7 a.m. to dusk, 6 days a week, and closed every Wednesday for maintenance. It's closed if it's raining--turns into too much mud! There are restrooms for people nearby. It's doggy heaven!
Judie, it would be great if Darth would volunteer to negotiate!

Well, I have much to do today, so although I wish I could chat here longer, I must get myself in gear. I'll check in every so often in lurk mode, and will BBL to say hello at lunchtime. Have a great day! BBL....

Bluebird back at feeder such a beautiful bird.

Just went out and nail a wreath on the building door up pretty high. Don't use it that much. Just
in case Robin gets some HP from that window and needs a place for herself and the eggs. lol

Thanks for all the links to the different things going on.

Link for Slave lake, Alberta made me cry.
Oh Hoda I know you talked about it but seeing it -such a tragedy. There was no way of stopping
the wildfire. I know in other areas they can't seem to stop them. Is it normal to have a wildfire in that area or is this the first one? Prayers for the people of that area.

Wanda so sorry GG ended up in ER. Praying she can see a dr or chiropractor and get some relief.

Lynne2 Prayers for the residents of Joplin, Mo.

Paula great win..I'm sure you'll find something you need to buy.

Hoda I am still laughing about the clothes pots. If the shrink just water with Miracle Gro...lol

Have to ask daughter about lightning bugs in Colorado. When little she loved cathing them
then watching them all go. She was so interested in them. She said, "Mom help me find out why they light up". Which we did of course, "to attract a mate". She couldn't wait to get to school to
tell her teacher. ( :

Paula sounds like you are really getting the beach house wipped into shape. Great your brother got to see the eagle. Wonderful Nugz
is having such a great time swimming. Nice though that there is only one house to the south.

Lynne2 and Steve I am keeping you both in my prayers,

Hedgie-Lynn count me in for anything for voting for a dog park in this area...one for small area and one for larger dog area.

Kay IM prayers for your friend Shirl.

Oh boy Hedgie-Lynn I'll be watching for my date with Tom on film #8, ( :

Lolly I would love to have some
"yellow columbine seeds". Everything I have is purple.

Paula loved the pictures. NugZ is
"king of the beach, ocean and the
outside of the beach house". lol ( :

Thanks Lori for information on
the WVC eaglets.

Kay glad you found friends to be
ok.

Mom just called - so I need to head to town. bbl

LOLLY, when it comes to the nests on the bench, I smell a cat !

LYNN, when it comes to the Hamilton interview, I smell a rat !

However, I'm past the point of being astounded when doping charges turn out to be true--we've seen it over and over in baseball, track... First they deny, deny, deny, but eventually the truth comes out. If such is the case with Armstrong we do not need a Hamilton in the mix. He seems less than a sterling and reliable source. I watch a lot of PBS, but the affiliates do vary across the country. Ours has not dealt with this topic to my knowledge.

PAULA, good for you on the Wegmans contest. Good slogan. Wish we had that chain here. I always go to one of their stores with my son when visiting in NJ.. It's not just a grossery store trip, it's an experience !

Buddy Update!

Hoda said...

WVGal _Dana, I laughed this morning too when I was getting dressed about my clothes pots...and a smile when I went out to check on the plants...did I do it right? Do they need to be watered? Will they survive? I do that every year and they seem to do fine.

Most towns in western Canada are built in the forest...we literally have to clear bush to set them up. Alberta has been very dry this spring and they have STRONG winds there. Fires do happen but never have I heard, seen or experienced the extent of what is happening there in Slave Lake now. I have been to Slave Lake twice and it gets its name from the HUGE lake that is there...it was a town that had very up to date and modern infrastructure...but as they said they will rebuild. I like this spirit which I see so strongly in the USA and also in Canada, that in times of adversity we stick together and work on rebuilding.I am sure the same will happen with the folks in Joplin Mo. who are affected by the tornados.I look for God's Grace and it is ABUNDANT.
