Paula it is weird sometimes the mark on top of head looks bigger other times it looks smaller but I am thinking it is perhaps the way the light is cast upon it or shade/shadow.
If Truder doesn't be a bit more careful with the egg well digging, he is going to go right down through the hole. He does seem obsessed with that area.
Paula the video from earlier with just Truder in the nest was interesting.
Gene and I were going to the nest site this afternoon, but I don't know what that will accomplish now. I guess it would be good to know if Lib is still in the area, but it just makes me sad to even think about the situation. I know, in time, we will come to accept this new couple, if that is what they are:( I do wish Steve would give us more insight about what is going on there...like who saw what, where, when...like Lisa M. does.

I know JO, I was thniking the same :). That is why we need to find something distinguishnig about intruder so we will know in fact if it is him or Lib that may come back soon or even next season.
Maybe intruder is intent on getting rid of what wasn't his (egg, paddy) so he can have a clean start?
Yes, DANA M...the nest, in person, is very impressive. It is so huge! Hope you can visit at Open House in October and see it up close with the rest of us.
Thanks Paula. I felt pretty certain as well, but I am no expert. Just from watching though the marking on the head is so very clear, I don't understand why they are saying it's Lib with an injury in the OD chat. Someone said that their opinion was that it is Lib.
You know I haven't been around long enough to really know one eagle from another. But it doesn't take much to realize that the intruder is not Lib. Mated birds wouldn't treat one another that way for this long.

No WVA-gal, I (DanaMo) asked if Lib was gone! I guess it really can get confusing when there is more than one person with the same name. I didn't say he was gone I just asked if people thought that he was and where the eagles go when they aren't in the nest with eaglets or eggs. As for the dates, I think someone else asked the question. There may actually be two questions out there, one is for the Open House at NCTC and the other is the Race for the Birds, which is April 9th. Hope that clarifies things...
cool thanks for all the info where I work I have to put in for vacation three weeks ahead I will be in NC and can just come up They live on Celo MT their mailing address is Burnsville but they live in Ce lo
So it doesn't get so confusing as it is....when talking to me wvgal_dana please put DanaWV---maybe like some of you are doing when talking to other Dana put DanaMo. That would help a lot ( : ty
@ Paula. I was looking at the screen and there was a bird. Then I noticed it wasn't running. Hit play and bird was gone. I have had days when it would just play and play. Guess it has to do with how many people are watching at that time. But then I am assuming.
Found my way back ... every tinme I leave the blog for a video or website I can't find my way back until many, many posts have been added. Have some mercy on this oldie." ☺♥
BTW - Nice videos Paula. I'd be totally lost without your knowledge of eagles and your up to date videos.. thanks
Wanda, you're probably right. We just might have a new couple.
Think I'll leave for a while and find out who else is in this house.
DANAMO...so sorry...it was JUDYE who asked about OPEN HOUSE. My apologies to you, Judy E. I think I need a vacation! Maybe by the ocean to clear my brain:)
Shirley Robyn asked what day is it? and you said March 27 ! And I guess she was asking about either the Race for the Birds on April 9 or the Open House ibn October because those two things were discussed just before her question BUT there are days when I need someone to tell ME what day I am on so I will ask you when that happens ☺
MeMa Jo-I think I'm confused. What am I looking for at the site? I said I planned to do the race for the birds...not the open house. That was someone else. Is that what I am looking at? LOL! Maybe I need to go to bed.
This is a blog question. I just created a blog for my kindergarten class. I want parents to be able to get up to date information on what's going on in class, homework and such. Do they have to have a google email in order to sign on?
Good night, Judie. I am going to have to retire soon as well. I have mostly completed the Frankenstein papers.
Getting a little frustrated at some of them. They were fussing about my having given them four essay questions to answer in a 90-minute class period.
One girl commented that I would notice that her answers got shorter and shorter as if it were my fault. Hmmm. When you have 4 questions to answer in a given amount of time, you divide the time up so that you have equal time for each question.
Question - is the nest always this hard to see at night? Is there a point to that? I can barely see the two large branches at the right end. In the moonlight I could make out the sides of the nest, but little else.
At the Goodwill the other day I brought in top notch shape beautiful Missouri Loon pillow. When I got home had more time to look a it was signed by James Hautman.
Ducks stamps won by James (Jim) Hautman, his brother Robert Hautman and also duck stamps won by other brother Joseph Hautman. James won 1990-1991, 1995-1996, and 1999-2000. Other years you can see Robert and Joseph won 2008-2009 and other yrs. some duck stamps.
Iris, when there is a full moon it is very bright. However, this cam is very dark. They did not expect it to be this dark when everythinhg was installed. Could not go back up to make repairs or replace. It was too close to the nesting time.
This is where you have to "tilk" your screen to see better and ruin your eyes tryingl.
Jo, I think I will take about 40 of those crystal eagles! Great Christmas presents for all of you. In my dreams.....along with the new computers for everyone, WHEN I win the lottery.
Good night, Shirley! I help Laurel grade papers when I can. However, I have to leave all essay questions for her to grade. I do not know her students or her expectations.
This one was kind of tough to grade, Lolly. I did wonder about the number of students who used similar language that I had not used. Need to see if it came from Spark Notes or Cliff's Notes. Seems suspicious.
Thanks all, tilking didn't help I'm sorry to say. And the still cam is of course the same. Now Paula's video though looked like it had a bright light - I never saw that here.
I was told the old cam was left up to be the infrared light for the new cam. Of course who would have thought it would break down. With the eagles already being there they couldn't go back up and repair or fix or hook anything else up for the night light.
turtledove not really sure the Intruder WAS trying to do mating this morning... it was a familiar looking kind of action BUT - some of it may have just been the way things looked in two-dimension so to speak... I probably should have used better terminology when I first posted... it's even possible he got his talon stuck on a twig and was shaking rattling and rolling to get loose...and Belle was just in the way More to Be Revealed in the days to come, most likely
AND, no , no video, there were just a few of us watching, I think I saw the most of the two's appearance, and I cannot make videos plus it was very quick from start to finish hope that helps clarify and sorry for any confusion with any of the words I was using, I will be more careful that would be helpful all the way around
Tears, once again. Just went to Eagletmomsters blog and on March 22 of last year Lib brought in a huge fish for Palmer. He fed him so gently. Paula got a great video. Sigh.....
Lolly, They did switch back to electricity for the cam.
Iris, The infrared is not good quality, it needs more "light" to see, that's why it looks so much better with moonlight.
Leona, I have been to the nest in the evening, but not lately. Evening is a good time to visit as well as early morning. The daytime visits are pretty much a crapshoot.
I do have one comment on the Truder or whatever you want to call him. Given the right angle and light, I have been able to notice a dark feather right at the tip of his white tail in addition to his obvious markings on the head. You can tell the ends of his white tail are still a little brown.
About nest light at night: Hopefully it will be fixable once this current "crisis" is settled. Since there are no chicks, it should be doable once the weather is better anyway. I have to say though the view is wonderful in the daytime.
Ok this may be sort of dumb but this is what I did I took my video camera and record right off my monitor and it worked I took it to work to show people and also can down load in my computer and add to face book So any one out there with a digital camera that records or just a camera you can try it
* Its time to go give my pillow some head, and my sheets some cheeks God Bless this nest and all who view it
Playing catch up again! Good videos, screen shots, etc. Thanks, Paula, Leona, etc.
Phone calls and then Army Wives took me away! Heart-rending episode----right, Lynne? My head is thumping.... Still gotta check out the other links---crystal eagles??!!
Haven't found yet if anyone posted bear report, so will do so now---sorry if it's a repeat. Bears
Irene, what fabulous photos! How did you find them??? Might need to order a couple of those. Can't afford the crystal, but think I can swing a couple of prints!!!
DanaWV - that was a cool find for you. I guess you noticed it because of the loons not knowing what you actually had found. I hope Larry's Loons this year has two eggs and 2 healthy little loonies.
JudyE and Leona....Paula records but I don't know what program she uses. Using a camera sounds doable! My luck, my batteries would die! Goodnight, PA Lynn and anyone else I've missed.
Iris----please stop that coughing!!!! You need more than 5 hrs. sleep!! So glad that mine has not been a nighttime cough this go-round! I think the best cough medicine (over-the-counter) is Delsym, Iris. G'night---s-l-e-e-p!!!!!
Lynn, all accounted for and in bed. Used the crockpot for the roast and Jim made potatoes and veggie. The "boys" cleaned up. Still want a vook and housekeeper. Maybe I need blinders to use with my earplugs. ☺
Since I sleep in the living room on my recliner, I need the earplugs since they guys are early risers. Just get no respect!! ☺☺
Guess I can watch the news and weather in peace. Brrrr... Spring??
Guess I'll call it a night too. Prayers for all needs/wants. God bless. ♥♥♥
Crystal eagle sounds beautiful...where is that site? Probably more $$ than I can spend. We have a worker coming this week to look at our falling down porch, and will estimate a cost for a new one $$$$$$$$ probably!
Mema Jo, Costume Lady said something about it looking like Dirty Turdy. I guess she was referring to something else. Sorry, I'm confused, but also tired.
Diann, tell them to tiptoe in the morning! Glad they did the meal! Hope you get a good nights' sleep, too. Weather will be over in a minute and I will head to the tub....and then to my fleece lined bed! Cold one again tonight....brrrr. Keep warm....or cool if you are part of the deep south delegation...sweet dreams...and prayers for all.
Sandman is a coming.. I am heading down the hall..
Good Night All Prayers for the family of Joyce, Iris' cousin.. for the healing for Sissy.. And for all of us in many ways.. Hugs to everyone.. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
P.S. Wanda--"dirtier" than our Turdy! Forget the crystal kid---$3800. You need the porch worse than you need crystal!! It is Swarovski--or whatever it's called!
Night-night. Oh, Margy, hope class goes well for you tomorrow!
Hi, Everyone, Getting here pretty late again. Have been working on homework. IRIS, so sorry to hear of your cousin's passing! (((HUGS))) and prayers for you, and for her whole family. Dana WV, Wow, what a beautiful pillow! Fantastic find! For some reason, I can't get the live cam to work tonight. It says something about upgrading my Flash Player. Rats! It has said it before, but would work if I refreshed. Not working tonight. Grrr.
Had a bit of birdie drama in our back yard late this evening. One of the 3 Band-tailed Pigeons that we've been seeing lately was sitting on the patio out back, all fluffed up and half asleep. They are usually VERY skittish, but this one sure wasn't! Had me really worried, so was praying that it would start feeling better. Kept an eye on it for more than an hour. Then, it got up on our small patio end table where we have birdseed available. It seemed to be eating some. Next time I looked, about 10 minutes later, it had flown off. Sure hope it will be OK. They are scarce in our area, and are very pretty. Hope there's no bird illness going around.
Oh, LYNN, I have been forgetting to mention--Geraldine Ferraro had Multiple Myeloma. I remembered that because my Dad passed away years ago from that disease. Sorry to hear that she passed away. Not certain of the year, but think she was diagnosed in the late 90s.
Wow a crystal eagle that cost reminds me of some of those pictures high cost.
Yes thank you I didn't really know what I had till I got home and looked name up on computer. I just knew when I seen it "that is the Missouri Loons".
Night
Prayers for those that need them.
By the way remember the pug/chihuahua I put poster up in my community to help find him. Very small dog. He has been gone since before the real heavy deep snow. Well last night the boys upon me heard something scratching on the door. Cooper was back, filthy dirty, smelling, ticks, fleas, he had to have been out all this time and how he survived we don't know. He is so marked up and skinny. I gave the boys the rest of a lot of food I had of Little Man's. Plus Frontline for small dogs-6 packs. That dog is so happy to be home. I thought to myself if that can happen to Cooper. Then Libety can also come home. Just keep up the prayers like I did for Cooper. Liberty I'm still not giving up....come HOME!!!
Hoping that Sissy is feeling much better tonight! (((HUGS))) and prayers for you!
Thanks to all for the updates here today. No way I've had enough time to read ALL the comments. Have had to try to scan through quickly.
Well, saying prayers for everyone, and for all of God's creatures.
JUDIE, thanks for turning on the night light! Hope you were able to get all your work done for school tomorrow. You too, Shirley!
Making sure the porch light is on. The eye-scanner security and Dana WV's thumbprint-scanner security are both enabled. Prayers that we all manage to get a good, restful night's sleep. I will talk to you in the morning! God bless, and goodnight! Love all of you! :o]
Oh, DANA WV!!! What fantastic news about little Cooper!!! Sure wish dogs could talk English--bet he has quite a story to tell! Will definitely keep praying that Liberty will return and kick Truder's butt!!!
Well, better go try to get some sleep. 'Night, everyone! :o]
WANDA, I hear that original Dawn liquid dishwashing soap kills fleas really well. Maybe those of you close to the nest could make a bath for Lib a group project, when he returns!
Ms Bookworm my mom has mourning doves that come to her feeder she also has hawks that sometimes swoop down and snatches them up, she always hates when they do that but understands they must eat too:(
Hi, Robyn, I have a whole flock of Mourning Doves that show up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! There are usually between 16 and 20 of them at a time. We have a Cooper's Hawk pair nesting in one of our huge Ficus trees, too. Every so often I have to quit putting out bird seed for a couple of days, so the Cooper's hawks will go elsewhere to hunt! WANDA, I have to admit, Lib would be quite a challenge to bathe! Can't say I blame you! Well, better try to get some sleep. Talk to all of you in the morning!
Nighty-night! Been trying to catch up since last on Blog. Won't happen! Iris, so sorry about your cousin. Know she's in a better place and hope the Lord helps everyone heal from their sorrow.
See there were couple nest appearances--mostly Turdy! BOO I wonder what really happened between T and Lib off camera, if anything, to keep Lib away from nest so long.If Turdy sstays til winter, I don't know if I'll get used to him. TEAM LIBERTY Margy, see you had a great nature walk today! I need to walk around our boardwalk loop at Park & check woodsy/marshy things. Wanted to do that Sat. PM, but decided to get out of Dodge. Had a blindside encounter w/Volunteer woman who came in over 3 hours early for an evening froggy program she was doing. She was working on cutting out frog pics and chatting about them. I made some comments and she said," Plz don't speak! Your voice is too loud & I have a splitting headache!!!" Before I did leave, I said a couple quiet words to coworker gal & the vol(e) exclaimed, "It's her voice!!!!" I didn't punch out!!!,but would like to punch her!!Want a real headache????
P.S. Thx for letting me vent. I wasn't going to speak again, but was thinking, it's my Dad's fault (for loud voice). He was German!! And if she felt that bad, she should have stayed home. Her program was including MANY Boy Scouts camping this weekend.Wonder how THAT helped her head????
Been trying to get a fix pics! Not done yet. Have I said I HATE Win. 7?? ☺ Pleasant Feather Dreams & Prayers for All ;>)
Lolly, your sunshine avatar always makes me want to give you a hug!
Loretta - OMG! I can't believe that volunteer woman saying that to you. I'm aghast! Just unbelievable. I will punch her next time for being so mean! LOL
Andy, extra cookies for sweet little Emma.
Judie and Shirley have a good Monday at school. Spring Break is just around the corner.

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 600 of 664 Newer› Newest»Hi everyone. Been lurking the blog and watching the live cam.
What's going on?? Did these 2 just uncover the egg or Paddy? That's a big hole they're digging.
Perhaps a new nestcup?
If that was Belle she didn't seem to mind the intruder. Is the intruder a male- a home wrecker? Or a new couple?
And now Truder is gone.
People in OD think that it was Lib. Why do they think that????
Was anyone at the nest site today?
In am beginning to think that the odors coming from the egg cup attract them, but didn't someone say eagles can not smell?
Diann, the intruder is a male
Paula it is weird sometimes the mark on top of head looks bigger other times it looks smaller but I am thinking it is perhaps the way the light is cast upon it or shade/shadow.
Diann, kinda looks like a new couple in the making:( We are thinking now, that Truder is a male.
DanaMo was there earlier today, and didn't see any eagles
Who know why they think that. But, obviously they have not watched Lib in the nest before. This bird is obviously different.
If Truder doesn't be a bit more careful with the egg well digging, he is going to go right down through the hole. He does seem obsessed with that area.
Paula the video from earlier with just Truder in the nest was interesting.
Ok trying this again.
You will have to copy and put in browser.
Here is screen shots from Paula video.

Lolly-my kids make fun of me too!
I don't know about their sense of smell, Lolly, but we do know they have nostrils. I think their main sense is eyesight...you know, EAGLEYE:)
Maybe just maybe, Belle has taken proper care of little Paddy when we were not able to see it, like at night...with privacy....
can only hope....
Paula-But don't you feel pretty certain that the eagle we are seeing in the nest is the intruder?
But Robyn at least he can't hide the fact that there is a Black Mark on his head. I hope it stays there as long as he is around here - id him quickly.
How about Benjamin, as in The Graduate?
I had live feed the whole time but lost sound for a half a minute...
Yes, I was there today. No eagle sighting though. Very disappointed, although the nest itself is pretty impressive!
I think the only way I am going to see these eagles is to leave my house at 6:00 am to see them arrive in the morning! And I just might do it!
They certainly seemed peaceful with each other tonight
Keeping my prayers going for Liberty...with the rest of you...
♥
We need to get to him with a permanent marker.
Dana, I have no doubt that is the intruder and not Liberty with a head injury! I saw both on Sunday.
Gene and I were going to the nest site this afternoon, but I don't know what that will accomplish now. I guess it would be good to know if Lib is still in the area, but it just makes me sad to even think about the situation. Yea, that would be nice Wanda, but I wouldn't count on it.

We could shoot a paintball on the intruders head or tail.......
Dana, they've been brainwashed!
I'm actually going to sign up for the Race for the Birds (of course I will be walking!)So that is in April.
MeMa Jo that is too funny!
You know I haven't been around long enough to really know one eagle from another. But it doesn't take much to realize that the intruder is not Lib. Mated birds wouldn't treat one another that way for this long.

My cam froze... did I miss an eagle in the nest?
What day is it again?
It is Sunday, March 27.
Belle and Rudy were in the nest awhile back.
I agree Leona.
April 9th. http://raceforthebirds.org/
The open house is usually the 2nd weekend in October, however this past year it was the 3rd weekend in October.
Trud/Rudy or whoever left at a tad before 8:00.
Dinner is about ready. We are sooo hundry cause it smells so good.

NEST UPDATE MARCH 27
At 6:46 am today :
Belle flew into the nest, or onto the nest,
and the Intruder followed her immediately.
She went up to the 11:30 or so position on the nest and got turned around facing the center of the nest
Intruder followed and seemed to be landing on her.

He flapped and gave movement as though it would be HP IF they had been in the proper position, but in fact, her beak was near where his tail was
He was more or less, flapping alongside her, she appeared to be almost underneath him
but was NOT.
Belle poked around at the nest cup and the Intruder poked along also, that one picture is in the E-M album
Belle flew out without incident at about 6:50 and the Intruder left at 6:54 or so
I did not note which direction they both left towards....
there was NO calling, no chirps and no sign of agitation or aggression....

Paula I didn't say Lib was gone?????
Shirley, no email. Can you send it again?
I don't think anyone really knows where Lib is right now, Dana.
Okay, Paula.
Leona, I hate it when the cam stops and you think it's stuck. I wonder if I ask OD to take that off, if they will?
Sorry, Dana, that comment was directed to DanaMO...my bad
Don't know what is happening, Paula, but I guess Red would not allow us to blame it on the system.
USFWS/NCTC Campus click on this link
It has been changed to the 3rd week Oct as of last year. I tried to find last year's schedule but don't have it. There are so many displays of nature and it is so interesting. We will be certain to talk about it as soon as dates and events are published.
I liked your answer to Robyn Shirley!

No WVA-gal, I (DanaMo) asked if Lib was gone! I guess it really can get confusing when there is more than one person with the same name. I didn't say he was gone I just asked if people thought that he was and where the eagles go when they aren't in the nest with eaglets or eggs.

@ Paula. I was looking at the screen and there was a bird. Then I noticed it wasn't running. Hit play and bird was gone. I have had days when it would just play and play. Guess it has to do with how many people are watching at that time. But then I am assuming.
Fuzzlema - I'll take 2 of those crystal eagles. @ $3800 each
Sure I will. Aren't they beautiful.
They are as regal looking as our eagles
Crystal Eagle
Found my way back ... every tinme I leave the blog for a video or website I can't find my way back until many, many posts have been added. Have some mercy on this oldie." ☺♥
BTW - Nice videos Paula. I'd be totally lost without your knowledge of eagles and your up to date videos.. thanks
Wanda, you're probably right. We just might have a new couple.
Think I'll leave for a while and find out who else is in this house.
... later
DANAMO...so sorry...it was JUDYE who asked about OPEN HOUSE. My apologies to you, Judy E.
I think I need a vacation! Maybe by the ocean to clear my brain:)
I live by an ocean come on down Costume lady
OH MY! You are going to flip when you check out these eagle and bear and more photos!!http://www.moosemannaturephotos.com/id217.htm
The screen shots Leona are fantastic.
Thanks...
Shirley
Robyn asked what day is it?
and you said March 27 !
And I guess she was asking about either the Race for the Birds on April 9
or the Open House ibn October because those two things were discussed just before her question
BUT there are days when I need someone to tell ME what day I am on so I will ask you when that happens ☺
LOL Shirley, I had a feeling after I sent that off that was expected :)
Apr 9 is my nephews b'day dinner at Kobe's would have been nice to attend. Last weekend my brother will be home prior to his surgery. Maybe next time
Great pictures FM.
Too much to catch up.
The sandperson will arrive soon so am turning the night light on for others. Restful sleep.
Thanks Mema Jo
Do you know how many times people ask me what day it is? Even with a calendar-clock right beside them?
Remember, I spend my days with teenagers.
Sorry, Robyn. I should have thought before I answered. I just automatically responded.
Does anyone have a video of the early morning encounter, where Truder was trying to do HP the wrong way? Now that is something I'd like to see! :)
MeMa Jo-I think I'm confused. What am I looking for at the site?
I said I planned to do the race for the birds...not the open house. That was someone else. Is that what I am looking at? LOL! Maybe I need to go to bed.
Taking a break and watching a TV show with hubby
This is a blog question. I just created a blog for my kindergarten class. I want parents to be able to get up to date information on what's going on in class, homework and such. Do they have to have a google email in order to sign on?
I'm afraid to leave, then I get too far behind and I can't catch up. But I really think my mind is fried.
Jo, you have mail
That would be interesting, TD, and I think that kind of shoots down the "this is Lib" theory. Lib is more accomplished in that area.
Question - is the nest always this hard to see at night? Is there a point to that? I can barely see the two large branches at the right end. In the moonlight I could make out the sides of the nest, but little else.
Here is the video of the evening visit
Evening Visit Mar 27
Also, I post all my videos on the Eaglet Momsters Blog. You can click on my name to get there, or use the link below.

DanaMo,
Yes they need a google account to sign in and comment, but not to view a blogger blog.

Thank you Iris for sending me that email ( :
Iris, when there is a full moon it is very bright. However, this cam is very dark. They did not expect it to be this dark when everythinhg was installed. Could not go back up to make repairs or replace. It was too close to the nesting time.
This is where you have to "tilk" your screen to see better and ruin your eyes tryingl.
Tilking does not always help me, though.
I wonder if the light will get better when the days get longer and it can store up more sunlight.
Ugh I am going to need to catch back up again, back in class which os soooo neglected :(. Discussing the fed reserve etc
Beautiful pictures, Dana.
Jo, I think I will take about 40 of those crystal eagles! Great Christmas presents for all of you. In my dreams.....along with the new computers for everyone, WHEN I win the lottery.
Shirley no need to apologize for humor :)
Didn't they stop using the solar panels and go back to electricity?
Good night, dear friends.
I have to be on time for work tomorrow. A friend asked me to cover for her at the beginning of the day.
I snickered when I read Shirley's reply to you, Robyn!
We provide much inadvertent humor on this blog, Robyn.
Good night, Shirley! I help Laurel grade papers when I can. However, I have to leave all essay questions for her to grade. I do not know her students or her expectations.
Thank goodness we can laugh at ourselves.
Night, night Shirley sleep well!
This one was kind of tough to grade, Lolly. I did wonder about the number of students who used similar language that I had not used. Need to see if it came from Spark Notes or Cliff's Notes. Seems suspicious.
God bless!
Night Shirley sleep well dear.
Has anyone been out to the nest site during the evening time? That is when I would like to look around there.
turtledove
not really sure the Intruder WAS trying to do mating this morning...
it was a familiar looking kind of action BUT -
some of it may have just been the way things looked in two-dimension so to speak...
I probably should have used better terminology when I first posted...
it's even possible he got his talon stuck on a twig and was shaking rattling and rolling to get loose...and Belle was just in the way
More to Be Revealed in the days to come, most likely
AND, no , no video, there were just a few of us watching, I think I saw the most of the two's appearance, and I cannot make videos
plus it was very quick from start to finish
hope that helps clarify
and sorry for any confusion with any of the words I was using, I will be more careful that would be helpful all the way around
Tears, once again. Just went to Eagletmomsters blog and on March 22 of last year Lib brought in a huge fish for Palmer. He fed him so gently. Paula got a great video. Sigh.....
Going to read for a while.
Later
AWESOME Pillow Find, Dana, way to go !!
Lolly,
They did switch back to electricity for the cam.
Iris,
The infrared is not good quality, it needs more "light" to see, that's why it looks so much better with moonlight.
Leona,
I have been to the nest in the evening, but not lately. Evening is a good time to visit as well as early morning. The daytime visits are pretty much a crapshoot.
Good evening All!! I just popped in to say hello and to do as quick of a scan as I could to see the activity and talk today!
Missed a few things, but knew the eagle_momsters would come through for me!
I behaved and worked all day today and have a horrible headache to prove it!!
share the sadness, Lolly...
Liberty always seemed so careful and delicate when he rolled and roosted on the eggs this year...
going to sign off, get ready for the week ahead...five days, 8 to 5 more or less, training...
will do my best to keep posts brief and scarce !
Prayers for everyone, truly, in need
Thanks for the Friendships and the education
God Bless This Nest
and
God Bless Us, Every One
xox ♥
I really missed you all today!!
I do have one comment on the Truder or whatever you want to call him. Given the right angle and light, I have been able to notice a dark feather right at the tip of his white tail in addition to his obvious markings on the head. You can tell the ends of his white tail are still a little brown.
Sometimes it is hard to tell!
PALynn, I have seen the dark on the tail as well.
It's just one more confirmation when you see him.
I popped in at the OC forums, too for a few minutes. Interesting what is going on over there.
I see you tried to help them out a bit. That was nice!
hazelk seems to be on the videos pretty well, too!
It's just funny when it is obviously NOT Liberty (even for a newbie like me to tell) and they are still saying it is him.
About nest light at night:
Hopefully it will be fixable once this current "crisis" is settled. Since there are no chicks, it should be doable once the weather is better anyway. I have to say though the view is wonderful in the daytime.
Well, I can't stay. My head is really killing me tonight. I'm off to take a hot shower and then probably call it a night after that.
Thanks for all the information and for being here. I just love this place and all of you!!
God Bless one and all ♥♥♥
DanaWV,
The pillow must be gorgeous! The loon cam should be on soon!
Did you know that NCTC is sponsoring this year's duck stamp contest?
The 2011 Federal Duck Stamp art contest will take place at the National Conservation Training Center October 28-29.
Someone posted somewhere how to record streaming video, and posted a link to the software. Does anyone know where that information is?
Thanks, either way!
Forgot to say WV Dana, you found yourself a treasure with that pillow, it's beautiful! (((hugs)))
Ok this may be sort of dumb but this is what I did I took my video camera and record right off my monitor and it worked I took it to work to show people and also can down load in my computer and add to face book So any one out there with a digital camera that records or just a camera you can try it
* Its time to go give my pillow some head, and my sheets some cheeks God Bless this nest and all who view it
@ turtledove I don't know if it was posted here. I did see it on OC forum under "Record Video"
Thanks, Judy, that's a good idea.
@JudyE I done that with my cel. I wanted video of the eaglets at Norfolk. I have also did it with my camera a few times.
Sorry DanaMO I just wanted you to get a look at the facility - maybe bookmark it because that is the site that will announce Open House...
Wanda has done it with her camera, too.
The OD forum does have a place where it's listed. I use Snagit. You can also use, Fraps, Camtasia, and Screen Virtuoso, to name a few.
@ turtledove I meant on the OD.
Thanks Paula and Leona. I'll look into these. The more people who can record, the better!
Iris I got my mail & I place my order.
And I hope it is here by Christmas
Playing catch up again!
Good videos, screen shots, etc. Thanks, Paula, Leona, etc.
Phone calls and then Army Wives took me away! Heart-rending episode----right, Lynne? My head is thumping....
Still gotta check out the other links---crystal eagles??!!
Haven't found yet if anyone posted bear report, so will do so now---sorry if it's a repeat.
Bears
Well I am calling it a night.
Irene, what fabulous photos! How did you find them??? Might need to order a couple of those. Can't afford the crystal, but think I can swing a couple of prints!!!
Storks are in the nest at
Storchencam
Of course, better in daylight, but at least they have a nightlight!
Leona, some folks have fantastic photos of the nest at sunset! Lovely time of day to go.
DanaWV--cool pillow find!
Diann---LOL at you needing to count male heads in your house!!!! Hope they fixed you dinner and cleaned up afterwards!
Goodnight to Judie, Shirley, Margy....sleep well, and hope you have great days tomorrow.
I love the view that the storks have.
Good Night Leona..
I am not far behind
Seems like a few on here have headaches
Any quick remedies?
Lynn, I love the storks...most of the time they seem like slo-motions
DanaWV - that was a cool find for you.
I guess you noticed it because of the loons not knowing what you actually had
found.
I hope Larry's Loons this year has two eggs and 2 healthy little loonies.
JudyE and Leona....Paula records but I don't know what program she uses. Using a camera sounds doable! My luck, my batteries would die!
Goodnight, PA Lynn and anyone else I've missed.
Night night everyone, hoping I get more than 5 hours tonight...
Prayers for all who need them for comfort, peace, healing whatever the needs. Bless our nest and all who love her.
We Are Beneath His Wings
G'night, JudyE! Cute phrasing!
Paula, is SnagIt a relative of SnipIt??
Goodnight, Leona.
Iris----please stop that coughing!!!! You need more than 5 hrs. sleep!! So glad that mine has not been a nighttime cough this go-round! I think the best cough medicine (over-the-counter) is Delsym, Iris. G'night---s-l-e-e-p!!!!!
Lynn, snipit is from Microsoft...think they stole that name from Snagit, which is by Techsmith, I believe :)
I'm going to have to find Irene's post....
BWO had osprey visit w/ HP today!
God bless. ♥♥♥
Got this from a friend in Cape Coral, FL....a friend of hers took it...play as a slideshow. Notice the still immature head!
Eagle
Nite Diann:)
Why, Lynn...that looks like our Dirty Turdy:)
Crystal eagle sounds beautiful...where is that site?
Probably more $$ than I can spend. We have a worker coming this week to look at our falling down porch, and will estimate a cost for a new one $$$$$$$$ probably!
Whoops I was over in FB
Glad I got here in time
did he land in the nest again?
No No Turtledove - I meant I got here in time to say good night..
Mema Jo, Costume Lady said something about it looking like Dirty Turdy. I guess she was referring to something else. Sorry, I'm confused, but also tired.
Hedgie has a blue link on her comment right up above this. It is of a
subadult eagle...
The Den News today was very enjoyable to read. Those 2 young cubs are so
adorable and they love Hope so much.
Sandman is a coming..
I am heading down the hall..
Good Night All
Prayers for the family of Joyce, Iris' cousin.. for the healing for Sissy..
Yes, that dirty bird looked younger, probably just turned 4...
Oh wow, I use to watch the storks that lived on everyone roofs/chimney's but lost so many nice links when my other computer died...
Hi, Everyone,
Getting here pretty late again.
Now, Robyn, did you know that STORKS used to bring babies, but they don't anymore...babies are found in Cabbage Patches:)
DANA...who's going to pick the ticks and fleas off of Liberty when he comes home?
Dana, glad cooper came home!
Wanda, I will! If he'll let me!
I wouldn't spend that much money on a what-not, even if I had the money...CRAZY!
Headed for my "not as pretty as Dana's" pillow:)
GOOD NIGHT MY FRIENDS
SLEEP WELL
PRAYERS AND BLESSINGS FOR ALL
Andy, I just had to upgrade my Flash Player today, too.
Hitting it too,
Hugs to all ♥
LOL..Paula:)
WANDA, I hear that original Dawn liquid dishwashing soap kills fleas really well. Maybe those of you close to the nest could make a bath for Lib a group project, when he returns!
Nite Andrea♥
Andrea, lol, I don't do BIRDS or WINDOWS;) No, not even LIB!
It would be great if Liberty could prevail without any eagles getting seriously injured. That's what I'm hoping for.
Yes I remember Wanda lol, good night
Ms Bookworm my mom has mourning doves that come to her feeder she also has hawks that sometimes swoop down and snatches them up, she always hates when they do that but understands they must eat too:(
My mom lives on the treasure coast of Florida
Hi, Robyn,
I have a whole flock of Mourning Doves that show up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
TEAM LIBERTY
Margy, see you had a great nature walk today!
Pleasant Feather Dreams & Prayers for All ;>)
Oh, Loweeeda! How rude that woman was to you! Good grief! Some people have no manners at all.
I have been reading this evening and now way past time to go to bed. Just so nice sitting here in front of the fire.
Good night and sweet dreams for all!
TEAM LIBERTY!!!!!!
Paula, that's a nice comment to see at the top of the page - that we aren't sure Lib is gone!
Go TEAM LIBERTY!
Can't see anything in the nest. It's very dark.
Definitely no what heads showing.
Dana,
loved the story about Cooper coming home. Poor little guy. Very nice of you to give them the goods to really take great care of him.
Iris, Take care of yourself and listen to the doc/nurse (Lynn)!
LIB, PHONE HOME!
Good Morning, Lori...I couldn't sleep and have been doing some research on books...The Mitford Series, to be exact.
Man, is that nest BLACK!
Hi Wanda!
Yes, the nest is veyr dark and earlier than usual.
Must be a good series of books if it's keeping you up. I'm trying to lessen my caffeine intake so I'll give you some of my sleepiness. :)
Getting ready for work now, I'll check in once I get there.
Hope you get some sleep, Wanda.
I'm watching EJ in Loch Garten OMG she is so adorable when she looks at cam lol
Am I going to be the queen of the 600 split? Let's see!
