I've been doing well, Jenny. Getting older as is everyone. I do have Oxygen 24/7 but it keeps me going. I now have 8 great grandkids - they almost look about the age of your girls. But then a few are under 3 yrs. I love them - they keep me young!

Our gathering was great!!! Susan is a fun, interesting and pretty Momster. Her hubby, Grey, is so very nice...sweet couple.
We did need this get-to-gether this evening. It was like having a giant hug around the whole group all evening...good medicine.

Judie looks great (well taken care of) and walking in her regular shoes and with the aid of her eagle cane:)

Jenny, Dana was able to view the nest earlier today. She was not on the NCTC grounds, I assume she was at the corner curve near the nest.
She saw the intruder follow Belle to the nest, and about 30 minutes later, Lib tried to come to the nest and she took off after him. Dana didn't see either return to the nest, but she did about 7:30
I have killed 3 SB in 15 minutes.

48° here now,and pretty breezy. today's nest weather-Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 50s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
The intruder is not 5 years old. It is between 4 & 5 years old. Tail is NOT fully white and neither is around neck of intruder where it should be fully white. That female is bigger than Belle so it is not 5 years old yet.
I know many of you are talking/joking about leaving food fish, etc. somewhere near the nest area, but think about this, the likelihood that Belle would get it is slim. And there is a chance that Trudy might find it, and get a good meal and have more energy to hang around and chase Liberty and Belle.
going to take a nap now.....silly! you people are still asleep and I'm going to nap!so much for time zones, huh?
Belle's not back yet so maybe she's out hunting....I hope so
Good morning everyone! I'm so excited to make new friends here. You are all such a wonderful group. My class and I fell in love with your eagles a few weeks ago and I even sleep with the laptop on by my head. LOL! Hoping for food today. I did see her repeatedly get something from the nest and put it into PJ's mouth. I was thinking that it was probably moisture from the evening rain. What do you think?

She also has those dark spots on her head, which is also a sign of a non-mature eagle.
Me too Guela! She seemed quite restless from 3;00 AM on but still quiet with only a very little amount sad calling out. Let's hope that she knows that she MUST get some food today. Hopefully the rain chased Trudy off. Boy PJ is really chirping up a storm!

I have a brother lives in Frostburg, Jennifer, he calls it
"Frosty" most of the time
he is a research biologist with the UMD Frostburg campus, and spends February through June out in Colorado (or other states) studying Prairie Dogs...his lifelong work for over 35 years

Yes, you can see the nest from the road. Not what is happening in the nest, but what is going on in the air around it. It's a windy country road, though, not always great places to pull to the side of it.

If they female intruder was from 2006 1st born Feb 09 2nd born Feb 11and 3rd born Feb 15: All three would be "FULLY ADULT EAGLES" with all white heads and fully white tails. So I just can't believe it is one of Liberty and Belle's offspring.
The year 2007 eggs where laid but the bad snow storm took them all. We HAD NO CHICKS BORN THAT YEAR.
Needed to put Bless This Nest back on....but it sure has been playing faces with everyone...

We have developed some really beautiful friendships on here and have loved each other through through all of life's challenges and joys. We are not about bashing each other or spreading lots of negativity. We are about getting through even the toughest of situations by loving each other through it. Ok I went by into my pictures just to make sure. Before the head was turned to see the scare still there on Belle. Pictues of tail feathers proved to me before seeing the battle scar at beak that this is Belle in the nest.

I got a great birthday card yesterday in the mail for my 95th birthday!! Love it Magpie! It had a pic of a beautiful loon on the front of it. We didn't see the loons at all on the lake last year. Such a beautiful bird! I have such thoughtful and wonderful friends! My life is so enriched by the friends I have found through this eagle's nest. Welcome new folks! Keep coming back.
