I hope Steve gives us a new thread BEFORE the weekend!

Mema Jo said...

I agree on both counts Wanda - no snow yet and new thread soon!

stronghunter said...

We could use a new thread, that's for sure.

Mema Jo said...

Lynne - praying that your surgery goes well and that the results are what you are hoping for. But I am glad that
Steve took your sickness from you so your surgery could go on as scheduled!
Gotta love a good hubby!

Mema Jo said...

I guess I will watch the Mentalist (new) at 10:00 this evening. I still like best Cold Case and NCIS:LA
Their plots are always good.

stronghunter said...

I haven't let myself get hooked on too many tv programs. I will watch American Idol. Watched Lost for a couple of years, but it got too crazy last year.

Costume Lady said...

I use to follow LOST every week, thought it was just the BEST, but I'm like you Shirley, it got too far fetched...stopped watching. This coming season is going to be it's last! It's no wonder.

stronghunter said...

Yes, Lynne, I hope the surgery goes well, and that you get home and settled in before any bad weather.

Costume Lady said...

NCIS..LA is the best of the new shows, Jo:)

stronghunter said...

It was the kind of story that could not go on but so long.

Costume Lady said...

Lynne, my thoughts and prayers will be with you for the best possible outcome...BEFORE THE SNOW!

Shirley, I haven't been following the blog as closely as I normally do, so I am wondering if your problem is getting better?

stronghunter said...

Thanks for asking, Wanda. I am still waiting for things to get better. Doctor wants me to keep using the medication I'm using until he sees me on Dec. 30.

One good thing, I am losing weight.

Costume Lady said...

Is your appetite failing you or are you on a medical diet? Don't forget to eat your veggies:)

Lynne2 said...

thanks guys...I'm sure it will be all good tomorrow and well before the snow starts I'll be home! Steve is all prepared to wait on me hand and foot!

I watched LOST! Really liked it but stopped watching so I could watch the first 3 seasons with STeve and then we got totally LOST in trying to keep up. The only show I watch without fail is Brothers and Sisters

stronghunter said...

Wanda, I don't have much appetite, and I think my digestive system is not too efficient.

magpie said...

I'm just getting back in...
James and I scanned the blog backwards when we jumped on the computer around 4:15 pm
he was touched and DELIGHTED to see so many of your birthday greetings, and he, AND I, thank you so very much. Any past that, I will see that he sees them too.

Hoping to catch a few of you before bedtime or maybe between shows.

Now I have to go back and read all the posts more carefully since I left this morning.

With Love, from James (now at his roost) and Magpie ♥

stronghunter said...

I think Lost was the kind of program that hooked a lot of people, but it was very hard to catch up on it if you didn't watch from the beginning. They carried a good audience for awhile, but I think they tried to push it too far.

Lolly said...

Lynne, will be thinking of you tomorrow. Sounds like good weather to be home and recuperating.

Have wrapped a lot of gifts. Need to get them wrapped before the boys visit Tuesday. ☺

Shirley, loosing weight is good if needed!

magpie said...

I know I can slide this one in before backreading:
Lynne, will have you in special thoughts and prayers through the night and the morning ♥ and thereafter also....

stronghunter said...

Yes, not unhappy about losing weight.

paula eagleholic said...

Lynne - Good luck tomorrow! and yes, put Steve on the blog for a report!

Blog has been hanging up my IE tonight!!

paula eagleholic said...

Well, I take my hat off to all the elementary, high school, middle school teachers, ya'll put up with a lot of crap!

stronghunter said...

College teachers deal with their share of crap, too.

stronghunter said...

I guess you can say we are on the front lines for crap, but there is plenty for everyone.

stronghunter said...

Thanks, Paula!

stronghunter said...

The neighbor who couldn't understand why I needed a phone asked me if it wasn't too noisy in my classroom for me to use a phone. Lord, I hope not! Might get lively sometime, but I have better control than that.

paula eagleholic said...

Think I'm gonna make it an early night tonight, catch you good people tomorrow!

Hugs to all ♥

stronghunter said...

Good night, Paula.

magpie said...

Yes, Good Night Paula, can't wait to see Friday's new avatar, even though the blog might say it is only Wednesday! xo ♥

stronghunter said...

It is getting late. Wonder what Judie is up to?

magpie said...

I had a few good laughs reading backwards.
Lolly.... a kindergartener saying you needed a shave, and Shirley
Old Lady Hunter -
lol both times !

hedgie said...

Wanda, I like The Good Wife best of the new shows. Having a hard time with NCIS: LA---even tho' I like Linda Hunt, it's just not holding my attention like NCIS does......maybe because it doesn't have Mark Harmon!! Love him!

Shirley, I would hope that ALL teachers have phones in this day and age---or else silent alarms!

Chiming in also to wish Lynne the best outcome tomorrow. It's a proven surgery with excellent results. Had many employees who had it done.

magpie said...

...and I'd like to catch up with anyone that has called Ceil names!

Sounds like a good eagle visit before James and I were peeking, will check Momsters Album for pictures.

Great news Jo about Robert, coming out of surgery with a doctor well-pleased, hope all the follow up and recovery goes as well.

hedgie said...

And I agree about Lost........it lost it's way, for sure!!! Wierd!!

magpie said...

Okay okay okay I see all the snowy forecasts for these parts....

I go in to work at 6 pm Friday, get off at 6 am (yeah, right!) and then am off for several days. Maybe I will be snowbound and will finish my Christmas cards...

magpie said...

Lolly - Laurel definitely has the right idea!

Anonymous said...

Hi All, For what's it worth. It just came over the scanner for 6 to 10" of snow up here starting late tomorrow night.

magpie said...

And I definitely throw my hat in the ring with all our teachers of all grade levels: God Bless Our Teachers, Every One

Which reminds me Shirley, your students should come across my closing night time phrase a time or two when studying A Christmas Carol

Lynne2 said...

good night all... gonna put head to pillow and try to relax. Will check in ASAP tomorrow! Prayers for all....especially you teachers! Sweet dreams!

hedgie said...

Margy, glad you had a fun time with the birthday boy!

Good night, Paula!

magpie said...

James picked up cards and little gifts for five of his teachers....if the snow hits, well, they could end up being New Year's gifts !

magpie said...

Hey crunch, nice of you to stop by!

stronghunter said...

Toss a snow shovel in your trunk, Margy, and be sure you have warm clothes. When we lived in Ohio, I got used to that. Since we had a water softener, I usually had a bag of water softener salt in the trunk. Kitty litter is good, too.

magpie said...

crunch
maybe you can add an avatar to your posts one of these days...
am sure it would be an intersting one !

magpie said...

fortunately my work is three miles of city streets only and I have four wheel drive, Shirley...other than that, I can pretty much stay at home. Would miss time over the week-end with James though...don't travel those roads in bad weather!
But I like your suggestion, and used to have to do that....

magpie said...

sometimes the deputies go around and retrieve or take home dispatchers, but we are told to have our overnight bags packed and be prepared to stay :(
have had to do that a few times, do NOT like it.

Anonymous said...

I'am just not into this like you all. Feel out of place.

stronghunter said...

Thought about you when I was talking about that story, Margy.

We watched A Tale of Two Cities, and then I asked them if they remembered A Christmas Carol, and someone mentioned Scrooge, but they didn't know who wrote the story.

magpie said...

Whisper wishes to Lynne2, not with head on pillow...
prayers always on whisper wings

Yes, I too would like to see our Judie on here, and Megan, and and and
anyone we have not heard from in awhile ♥

magpie said...

but I did notice on the posts that Judie and Darth are dealing with cookie and treat crumbs!

I better get back to one-liners, won't see a new thread tonight I don't think, just had some wild energy to disperse after a busy day

stronghunter said...

Crunch, I hope you don't feel out of place around us. We always enjoy hearing from you.

magpie said...

NO BOB !!

You are definitely NOT OUT OF PLACE HERE !

We appreciate when you check in...
hope you and Mrs. Crunch are doing okay..sure wish I had met you back in October... xoxo

stronghunter said...

Was nice to hear from Nilla.

magpie said...

sure was, Shirley ! and great to have more time with her....
I had only met her briefly at Dana's Ed's visitation

magpie said...

this place is a bit ransacked, most of it can wait until morning except the drippy ice cream bowls in the sink,
checking out for awhile

Good Night to all headed for the pillows before I
and
God Bless Us Every One

Prayers of thanks for needs gently met, and prayers for needs going to God's InBox

hedgie said...

Sleep well, Lynne, if you can.

Hi ya', Crunch! What have you been doing with yourself??? Like the forecast you have better than one I heard....I'm sure there will be many different ones before it's all said and done. Say hi to Doris!

Margy, I just hope you DO get off Sat. AM.....

stronghunter said...

Good night, Margy. A special blessing for you.

Prayers for your wife's granddaughter, Crunch.

Costume Lady said...

Oh, Lynn, I forgot about THE GOOD WIFE...yes, that is my very favorite and then NCIS-LA.
WIFE is refreshingly different!

Margy, glad you could spend time with James/George on his birthday...Gene said he was probably bouncing around all day!

stronghunter said...

Crunch, that is way too young to have to go through this, but we all know cancer doesn't respect age.

I've been there.

Costume Lady said...

Yep, CRUNCHIE-BOB, we will all be saying a prayer for that young lady!

hedgie said...

Oh, Crunch Bob, we don't anyone to feel out of place! All are welcome....you just have to put up with our sometime silliness!! You are a Dadster....you belong!

hedgie said...

Gotta throw some wood on the fire, and get my bath. Back later to say goodnight.

stronghunter said...

Hey, Crunch, where did you come up with your screen name?

I have to say good night myself. One more day until Christmas break.

Good night All ! Was watching the weather report - they are all saying the same thing - It's Going To Snow!

Sorry I missed you Crunch. Prayers for Doris' granddaughter. You come back more often - eagle season is beginning with their nestorations and more cams are being turned on.

Thankful you had a very good day with James, Margy.

Good Night and restful sleep and
pleasant dreams. (((hugs))) ♥ ♥ ♥

Have to say there is more good to teaching than bad! This week I received a message on facebook from a mother of a former student. (Bri is a freshman at TCU!) Anyway, she wanted to thank me for one of her favorite tree decorations, one Bri had made in my kindergarten class. Made my day, put a smile on my face.

Good night all! Sweet dreams! Prayers for all that are sick and those who just need to be uplifted. (((Hugs)))

magpie said...

Good Night from this nest too.

Andrea - sure wishing you the very best on your vacation...enjoy that Jacuzzi!

Taking our needs to God is a measure of worship, and each of us bringing our prayers needs to each other, is a measure of our friendship.

Thanks all, for your precious friendship.

PA Nana said...

I know it's late but I must say blessings for all in need. I'm waiting for my medicine to make me sleepy so I'll ramble a bit here. If no one's here all the better. I won't bore anyone.

Our insurance has stopped paying for my PT sessions so I'm left to my own devices; which is not working out. I can't motivate myself to do the exercises. Shame on me.

The microwave oven went poof! And I was lost without one. Making meals was much easier for me. With my bum arm I have trouble reaching across the stove and even lifting lids. Such a mess I make.
Jim's friend at work gave him a used one and it will have to do until after the holidays; if not before.

Lynne2 I hope this surgery works well for you. My orthopod told me when I had the same pain that it was coming from my shoulder. Of course, I didnt' believe him until several weeks after. I still get the numbness in the ring finger occasionally but nothing in the elbow and forearm like before. Was excruciating pain! Will pray that you have a successful surgery and are back to normal quickly.

Dana, was so good to see you on. Please keep us company whenever you can.

Hedgie, I'm with you on the best new show -The Good Wife. I also feel the same way about NCIS LA. Not sure I could watch that one like I do the original NCIS. Love that show.

I'm also not happy about the weather forecast although those living below the Mason/Dixon Line will get more snow than we. It's pretty stuff but dangerous for those that have to travel. So be careful out there!

Jo, glad your Robert's surgery was a success and he has a speedy recovery.

Sharon, I saw Train on CSI NY. Love that song, "Calling All Angels"

Well, I hope I've caught up enough for now. Until I get here at night, everyone seems to have gone to dreamland. My sleep pattern is reversed and I believe I'm a night person.

God Bless,

PA Nana said...

Lolly, I also finally tried your Bacon Pasts - yum, yum, yum. I couldn't reach the penne Jim put on top of the freezer and didn't want to climb a ladder, so used rigatoni that was nearby. It was fine. Jim liked it too!!

magpie said...

Hi Diann, I am still finishing things out for the night, sending a few emails and such.
I am sorry to hear the PT money has run out; I have exercises I am to do for my sciatica and bum back, they are very good, but I am not very good at doing them.

I have a microwave in storage, wish I could get it to you!

I have you in my prayers.

I hope you get some good sleep when you can get some sleep. I am going to try it pretty soon here.
xoxo ♥
(( Gentle Painless Hugs ))

PA Nana said...

Thanks Margy, I need a hug now and again. Hope your sciatica heals for you. I have the same problems and there isn't much they can do for my deteriorating disks. So I live with it best I can and try to laugh often.

I must do the exercises for the shoulder until the insurance picks me up again in January. I'm really not ready to be discharged.

Have a good, restful night Margy.
God bless

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Eagle Buddies!
I made it home from school, and have been reading some of the blog trying to catch up. Got all my homework for this week and next week turned in, so nothing's hanging over my head. My teacher is taking some well-earned extra time off, so guess what--I won't have any classes at all next week!!!
Yippee!!!!! Next class is Monday, Jan. 4th! Didn't have an exam tonight, either. Phew!
Margy, please wish James a very tardy HAPPY BIRTHDAY from me! Don't know how I managed to mess up on that one, but I did! Sorry about that!
I'm glad to hear that Jo's Robert is doing well, and pray that the follow up reports are all good.
Lynne, I'm praying for you with your surgery in the morning, that all will go well, and the weather will hold off until you can get back home! (((HUGS)))!!!
Crunch/Bob, good to see that you've been visiting us again! Please don't feel out of place! Prayers being said for Doris' granddaughter!
God bless her!

Ms Bookworm said...

Oh--Lynne, hope and pray that your Steve is feeling much better, AND your kitty, too! Bet the poor thing had an Excedrin headache! Glad it wasn't hurt badly.
Shirley, thrilled to see that your kids are reading 'A Christmas Carol'! Did you know that Charles Dickens is a distant relative of mine? (A great-, great-, great-, great uncle on my Dad's side) The branch of the family in America changed the spelling of the name to 'Dicken', because they thought he was a bit on the wild side, divorcing his wife as he did. Didn't want to be associated with him. Bet they'd be spinning in their graves if they knew the half of what goes on in today's society! When we visited London in Aug. 2008, we went to Westminster Abbey, and visited Charles Dickens' grave in the Poet's Corner there. Had always wanted to go and visit, and finally made it.

Ms Bookworm said...

Omigosh, I'm rambling again, and almost forgot to mention prayers for Diann! Hope your back gets better, and your arm doesn't bother you too much until you can go to PT again! Hope you can find time in the craziness of the Christmas rush to do your exercises! God bless!
Lolly, what a nice Facebook message! If I knew how to reach some of my former teachers, I would like to thank them, too! Bet quite a few of them are no longer here, though. We're talking a L-O-N-G time ago!
Well, it's getting late, and I will have to get up early tomorrow and hit the road running, so to speak.
Better go unwind a bit. The night light is on, the porch light is shining, and the eye scanner is enabled. Sleep well, and will talk to you in the morning. God bless!
Love all of you guys! :o]

stronghunter said...

Good morning! Wow! Snow is coming! We were planning our December birthday gathering for Sunday. I do not think it will happen. I do hope we will be able to gather for Christmas.

Diann, I hope you will be able to resume PT in Jan. when the new year begins.

stronghunter said...

Microwave troubles--I once ended up getting a new one because a light bulb burned out. Really. We could not figure out how to change it, so I called a repair place and they said it would cost something like $100 and I would be without it a couple of weeks or so. I said "no thanks." I just kept using it until Suzi got me a new one for Christmas.

Lolly,

Yes, there are more positive things than negative ones about teaching.

This morning is quiet--right now. Half of my block 1 class is not here. I think 2 are with the band. I don't know about the others. We have been discussing clementine seeds.

A girl was complaining because there were so many seeds in her clementine, and I reminded her that that's where baby trees come from; so now she is going to plant them and try to grow a tree. I know of someone in DC who grew a lemon tree that way. (There are four students in class.)
