Well I odn't have a new or old snuggy. But I hav elots an dlots of warm clothes. We still have Blizzard warning here til 6 pm. Dex and I are about to bundle up again with the booties on 4 little furry feet this time. Wish us well This is an important walk and we need a success story before winds get a stronger or tempsd any lower. Wind chill is like 12 now but headed down and occasional gusts to 35 mph. not fun.
Happy birthday, Cindi, Ceil's Jim, and Paula's John.
Love the coyote picture, Wanda.
No snow here. School is closed because of flooding. I don't see any other schools that are closed around here. Culpeper has lots of very rural roads and some have low bridges. That's what I have been told.
MORNIN' GLO!---My 1st question!! (HAVE YOU BEEN GROCERY SHOPPING)---ho!---If not---just bring DEX & come over---I have enough to feed us for a month!!---ho!---STAY WARM!
I will enjoy bridge tonight after getting to sleep in and relax. I have doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I get two days off. Thank goodness, I stayed long enough yesterday to put together my Macbeth test and leave it on the desk for the sub just in case. (Kids will be thrilled!)
The cupboards are full Norma BUT that trip wasn't succesful. Dex isn't at all happy with winter conditions. Maybe when the wind dies down after 6pm it will be better. I will try again around noon but temps are going down to zero tonigt so I sure wish we could get this longer trip out of the way.
Its still lovley if you can sit and watch out the window.
Wonder where the panda escape was? Mits, since Tai will be going to Wolong, guess that means that they have rebuilt from the quake.....maybe video was shot there????
One really cool thing about these two wet, heavy snows is that the 2-4 ft. piles of leaves around the perimeter of the driveway and "yard" areas is now only about 8" high! Compression will lead to faster composting!! And less chance that they will blow back where I don't want them!
Mits, I thought they were rebuilding Wolong.....TV news report had said that was where Tai was going...thanks for correction; reporter must have gotten it wrong.
Paula, it's Ceils' son Jim's birthday; hubby Jim's is Christmas day!
Hello all:) Today's word is SLUMUDSH- which is a combo of slush and mud. But it is better than ice. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Cindi, Ceil's Jim and Paula's son John:) Got to get back to it...have a great day everybody!
Good morning! 27 this morning, up to 28 now and bright sun shine. So glad there is no moisture with this front.
Wanda, love the coyote picture. I, too, love all wildlife except for snakes and skunks, and Armadillos!!!!!!!!! Oh, and you are still ignoring our questions about being called Tiger. We are busy letting our imaginations run wild.
Also, enjoyed the "Norma" hospital story. So funny!
Lynn, thanks for the video. Love the way the keeper went running after the escapees!
Been called to grandma duty. Hunter needs to be picked up at school. He has been sent to the nurse twice this morning. Complaining of aches and pains and is sniffling. Tom is off today, but Kathryn can't find him. Will return later.
Shirley...yea for the Grandma's. Sometimes when the boys are sick for days I just bring them here. That way I am home and Laurel can continue to work. I retired in May 2000, first grandson was born in Oct. 2000. Perfect timing!
Okay, time to start moving. Gotta eat a bite and then head out shopping.
I just made a quick call to Dana - you could tell she was rushing a bit - getting some lunch. She knows we will be thinking of her even though we can't be there at 2 pm.
Norma, they just showed Diego crawling around on the floor of the exam room, and a little bit of the exam---including a finger check of his teeth and a comment about him starting to bite!
Here's a good one for you. Someone my youngest daughter knows ordered an Andrea Bocelli CD....when she got it, she sent it back because he sang all the songs in Italian.....duh....imagine that? An Italian opera singer singing in Italian!!!!
Oh Lynn that is funny. Just received flowers from our son. Beautiful roses with Christmas greens. Hubby is baking cookies and has Christmas music on. I am taking a break.
I know - I pulled a Margy/Ceil - I am suppose to be in the shower. Alexis is coming up after her nap - Her gram said she got a goose egg on the forehead. I bet it is the size of a meatball! She is ok.
Helen, hope your Zoo Day is a good one, Ceil, wow, husband making cookies! and Beautiful Christmas flowers from son. Happy Birthday to your son Jim
Shirley, I saw where Culpeper schools were closed, was happy for you ! Hope Hunter will be okay, and also Jo's ggd Alexis...maybe they just want to be with their grandmothers/great grandmothers ♥
got to go make cheese salad sandwiches . Mtg at 3 pm, "party" at 4:30 and work at 6 pm to 6 am. I have worked many a 16 hour shift so this won't be so bad, have a pretty good bank of sleep behind me.
Megan Liked your SLUMUDSH - only you would come up with that! Disappointed the kids did not get the day off except for a two hour delay here and there and ALL of Shirley's kids...but, out Midwest and Mountain States, well maybe a different story
I'll be back before leaving for work... xo Best Wishes for a good, safe day for all ☺
If you get a chance the Maine cam is getting blasted with bad weather. Thinking of Dana and family. Jo come anytime. Door is always open. Paula son is the 3rd. Very confusing even now. Yep jubby is a Christmas baby.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ GooD MorNing, EveryonE. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's getting winterish in So Cal now. It won't get into the 60°'s today, even though it's fairly sunny, and we are due for several straight days of rains and showers this week.
Nothing like you guys are getting, but at least it gives us a chance at breaking the drought here.
Good Morning/afternoon, everyone! Count me in on the moment of silent prayer for Ed. Thinking of you, Dana, and your family, with lots of love. ((((HUGS)))) from me!
Hedgie, I don't believe we can see the San Bernardino Mts. here ... have to drive a ways in that direction and around the end of the Santa Ana's first.
But we can see some of the Angelos Mountains ... Mt. Baldy, etc. I'll take a look later. If there's snow and the weather is fairly clear, we should be able to see it.
Also can sometimes see snow right behind Santa Ana on Saddleback Mountain. Just depends on how low the snow level is.
Hope you are all having a fantastic day, in spite of the weather!
It's mighty cold here in SoCal again--was down to 40 last night, and currently 54 degrees--but sunny! No rain today, but expecting more tomorrow thru the weekend. We're having a regular heat wave compared to temps back east, though! Promise me you'll all be careful, and REALLY bundle up if you go out!
Still thinking of Dana and family. You are all in my heart and in my prayers! Sending lots of love your way. :o}
Wanda, love the pictures of your 'Wiley Coyote'! He really IS well-camouflaged! A little earlier today, there must have been about a hundred birds in our huge backyard tree, all treating me to a beautiful concert! They usually only do that just after dawn, but maybe they were thinking of Dana and family, too! Wish you all could have heard it--it was amazing!
Tom came and picked up Hunter. Kathryn wanted me to help her decide if he was really sick or having "schoolitis." His throat looks a little red and it is sore when I touch his neck, so Kathryn is trying to get an appointment. Temperature is normal. He says his ribs hurt, and I think that is from coughing so much. She was suspicious because he said his neck hurt when he was doing a worksheet.
Well, you know what--my fingers are frozen, I think because of my blood pressure medication. It "lessens circulation to your extremities," according to the info that comes with it. I think I'm gonna go take a shower,and thaw myself out. Then I'll put on my gloves, and KEEP my hands warm! May dig out the old thermals and put them on under my sweats, too. Cozy layers are the fashion statememt of the day! BBIALW... :0]
It is 44° here in the valley and at the nest it is almost 47° Our sky is brighter now than it has been all day.
I am awaiting the arrival of Alexis for the evening.
Shirley enjoy your evening and the article Will showed you about the lights - all I can say is that I am glad I didn't look out and see that because I would have been sure the aliens were going to beam me up!
Can't stop my imagination -- do you think maybe Tiger got into Wanda's tank?
Hope everyone has had a nice day and that the weather hasn't been too difficult for anyone.
Andy, congratulations on the 3 exams. YOU ROCK!
Beautiful coyote. None here but do have a red fox that visits on rare occasions. Don't like red fox -- saw it kill my little blind squirrel last year. Really enjoyed the African owl in flight.
No ideas for dinner tonight. Have taken super strength tylenol and don't much care.
Shirley, enjoy the night out and hope Hunter is better.
Wow, Shirley.....cool pic and site! Was going to sign up for the flyover phone alert....NOT....they charge 4.95 a month!! Oh, well. Strange explanation for the sighting, but since Ruskies are involved, guess it figures! Hope that Hunter just has a virus, but with neck hurting, always better to get it checked!
Judie, maybe Frank will bring dinner home to you. Question: is the Ribster place still up at the corner of Ravensworth and 236? Used to have the best ribs ever!!
Hi, everyone! Well, I'm back, and much warmer now, thanks! I'm wearing 3 layers in the house! No gloves at the moment, though--impossible to type with them on. The sun has warmed it up to about 58 or 59 degrees by now. A regular heat wave! Just think, though--about 3 weeks ago we were having 85+ temperatures! Well, that's California for you. Can't make up its mind.
Shirley, if it's cold again tomorrow, I'll have to consider your Russian tea. Just might do the trick! Hope Hunter is feeling better, by the way. Just being at Grandma's will probably help quite a bit! That always makes things better. Judie, hope the industrial strength Tylenol takes the edge off the pain! Hi, T-Bird! Good to see you here, too! Shirley, those lights in the sky are wierd! Wonder what's going on. Glad it's not happening here! Pretty interesting stuff. Oops--Hubby's home from work. Better go. Be back later tonight! Have a nice evening! :o]
Seeing all this bad weather out west made me think of Deb. It is clear in Vermillion but wind chill is a minus 12. It never did seem to get warm there but Deb loved it.
I've been wondering if they change the show year to year, This program is exactly like last years, Only....Michael and I had a drink in a glass with a lighted stirrer. The stem of the glass was Rockettes legs. lol
Hi everyone, I was just trying to catch up but can't concentrate too well. My colon/endoscopy went fine, nothing in the colon, some inflammation in the esophagus and biopsy done just to be sure no problems. Raven is no better at all, despite the high dose of Pred, and the Ultram. I was expecting to see some glimmer of hope today but I have not. She snapped at Steve last night and me just a little while ago. She isn't even trying to get up at this point. If there is no sign of improvement by tomorrow afternoon, the time by which the vet said if there was none, there would likely not be at that point, then we will take her when Steve gets home to end her suffering. My heart is breaking, but I so appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers...it means more than you can know. I will check in again when I can. And as always, my prayers are with all of you, my eaglet amigos!
Yes, Judie, watching this program is great. Last year, the weekend before Christmas, my son, Michael took me to NYC for a long weekend, We saw two Broadway shows, took in Rockefeller center, dined elegantly. It snowed 6" while there. Central Park was beautiful. This was my first time to NYC, Very special!
Think I am going to go wrap presents. Tomorrow I pack and cook for a dinner party tomorrow night. Then Friday morning Jack and I leave for a 500 mile trip to McAllen for Christmas at my brothers. My sister will also be there. Will not have computer, so I will not be getting on. No need for a silver alert. We will be back Monday night.
Lynne, so glad that your procedure went well, but my heart is breaking for you regarding Raven. Afraid that it is time. Hugs and prayers coming your way. I sure feel your pain.
Oh Lolly how fun to be in NYC at Christmas time! I always wanted to do that...always figured I'd ice skate a Rockefeller. I don't know how to ice skate but I figured, what a great place to fall on my butt on my first try! Have a wonderful safe trip this weekend! Off to have ice cream....
Concerning the Norway lights: in case anyone missed it,further down at the end of the article was this:
UPDATE: Circumstantial evidence is mounting that the phenomenon was caused by a malfunctioning rocket, possibly an ICBM launched from a Russian submarine. A Navtex no-fly alert was issued for the White Sea on Dec. 9th, and photographers appear to have recorded the initial boost phase of a launch below the spiral (see inset). A rocket motor spinning out of control could indeed explain the spiral pattern, so this explanation seems plausible, although it has not yet been confirmed.
Evening Everyone!!! Finally getting on a computer today.Got to work late & stayed late as got new windshield in AM. Been putting just a few decorations out~~~like wreath on door, lovely artificial bouquet of white poinsettias. Put their vase on top china cabinet___the one kitties can't get on top!!!They've been a big help getting things out of basement closet. Wanted to see some Xmas cheer & try to get a little perky & not depressed. Lynne2, so sorry about Raven. Is that the older dog in pics that looks like collie/shepherd? Know it's getting late for some, so Pleasant Feather Dreams to all those hitting the hay. Going back to Barbara Wa Wa Top 10 show ☺
Hi, Lynn...must be something good on TV. I don't like Wednesday nights for TV:(
While no one is listening, I will tell you why I am called TIGER. It is not nearly as mysterious or exciting as some my think. Back in the 1970s, I bougt a dress that had Tiger stripes all over it. Gene liked the dress because it was exactly the color of my hair and I have green eyes. Just for fun, he started calling me TIGER. For twenty years, he called me SWEET (don't puke), it was embarrasing sometimes, so I told him I liked being called TIGER, so I have been called that for thirty years now. My Grandchildren call me grandma tiger or GT. Can you imagine the looks on people's faces in the stores when they heard me being called GRANDMA TIGER? I think they all were 10 or 12 years old before they knew my real name was Wanda and not Tiger:) So, to make a long story short...people still look at us strangly when Gene calls me TIGER ...no stranger than they did when he called me SWEET:) NOW YOU KNOW;)
Lynne, glad your tests are over and you are 99% OK. Get that inflamation cleared up. Gerd, maybe? We had two collies that we had to put to sleep and there is no easy way to do it. I couldn't go to the Vet, couldn't stand to watch them die. One of the Collies was Karla's and she held her while the Vet gave her the shot and until she died. What a strong girl she was (still is). Let Raven go in peace, Lynne and God Bless You.
Yes Loretta, Raven is the dog in the picture...she IS a collie, just shaved down! I have to post some when she had her REAL collie hair. I started getting her shaved 2 years ago when she was becoming intolerant of the constant brushing required to keep her hair matt free.
Well well grandma tiger....hahahaha! that's SWEET!
Wanda, I know how hard it is for some people to stay with their pets at that time, but I will stay with Raven. Not sure if Steve can do it though. I've been there for 3 cats and 2 dogs of my own, and 2 dogs died at home (execept for Raven who I've had since she was 1, the other dogs were all older already when I adopted them.)and countless others that I was with when I worked at vet hospitals. Almost always, it's very peaceful. BUT NEVER EASY.
Lynne, happy your procedures was uneventful. I am deeply saddened for the decision you must make.
Wanda, how SWEET of you to make up such a harmless story about why Gene calls you Tiger. Still think there's a secret story somewhere.
Lolly, hope you and Jack have a safe and fun visit. We'll miss you.
Hi Loretta.
Going to try to get some sleep. Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Andy, please turn on the security system when you come in.
OK, looks like I still have the floor. I'll have to tell you about my day. Went to GG's this afternoon and met with Karla and Dustin. Gene and I fixed some shrimp and squash soup while we were there. GG ate a bit of shrimp and about half a cup of soup...said she felt better after drinking the soup. I think she does need that nasty old GB removed. Going to decide after seeing her primary care doctor next week. I'm so proud of Dustin, I must tell you about it. Karla got a phone call from a Police Officer and he told her that Dustin had broken up a very nasty fight at school. It seems a young fella was hitting and kicking another and when he tried to strangle him, Dustin pulled him off and threw him up against the wall and told him to cool it. Officer told Karla exactly what had happened so that in case the school called her, she would know what it was all about. Hope he doesn't get into trouble over this...I think he is a hero:)
Before I forget: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDI (I have not had the pleasure of meeting you, but I LOVE your jokes!) HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PAULA'S HANDSOME SON JOHN:) HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU JIM...we know Ceil made your day!;)
Hey, Wanda....nice Tiger tale! Funny that the grands called you that, too! Way to go, Dustin!!! Where does he go to school? Handley?
Loretta, glad you got the windshiled replaced. Hope insruance company did right by you.
I have always stayed with my dogs at the end....:( and my lady vet who retired last year would hug me afterwards, and then sent sympathy cards.
Judie, can we expect anything else from the Russians??!! LOL!
I am going to say my goodnights. Early morning tomorrow---have to take SIL to VA Center apptmts. Need to run some errands after ditching him, so probably won't "see" y'all til late afternoon. Prayers for all.
So, Wanda, that's your "story" and guess you are sticking to it! lol That is as it should be. We really should not pry into your private life. lol
We have special names, too. Jack is the ol Goat and he calls me an Ol Bat. Really touching, right? I even have a bat and a goat charms on a bracelet that we purchased on our honeymoon, 44 1/2 years ago!
I got stranded in my recliner Well not stranded but confined by Marvin (my large cat) as he decided to sleep on my lap. It was so nice and warm I didn't push him off! So I watched 2 TV shows.
Lynne - I am thankful for your test results. I know what is facing you and it is a heart breaking experience. Since Raven is snapping at you and Steve - then it is time. ((((hugs)))) to all!
Back from really nice dinner with John, Ajay and grandkids. Can't believe John ate 2 platefuls...don't know where he put it all. Birthday surprise was a new gas grill...Ajay and her grandfather assembled it in the basement of their home today, and I surprised John tonight with it. Very nice evening all around.
Wanda, love the tiger story. Way to go Dustin, I would be proud of him too.
Judy - hope the xtra strength stuff helps take the edge off the pain.
Lynne - glad everything went well. So Raven is not doing much better. Hugs and prayers for you, I know what you are going through.
Lynn - have a great day out and about!
Andy - glad you aced those tests. Hope it warms up a little for you out there!
Jo - Was it meatball night with Alexis? And did you get the address from your hairdresser on the eagle nest?
Wanda - you tell Karla that she has done very well in bringing up her son! He did what his gut told him to do and I applaud him! Good humanitarian action by Dustin!
Lots of cloven hoof prints in driveway---fog rolling in now.
Wow, Glo! Really cold!
I checked out Ft. Collins last night. Temp was below zero there. Haven't talked to my brother yet.
Have a great day everyone. Lots to do. BBL
Here's your chuckle for the day!!
Panda Escapade
MORNIN' GLO!---My 1st question!! (HAVE YOU BEEN GROCERY SHOPPING)---ho!---If not---just bring DEX & come over---I have enough to feed us for a month!!---ho!---STAY WARM!
The Great Escape!
HEY BLUEFIELD!---I would rather have an EAGLE!---That is what you gave me----way back when!
Hey Lynn, that video was cute. I was laughing just listening to the people laugh!
Right Norma. You find what eagle you want and we will change it! :)
MORNIN' 'BIRTHDAY MOM' PAULA!!
eagle eating up in Maine nest.
Diego exam vidoe coming up on "rag" show, Inside Edition, in a minute. CBS Ch.9 here.
Wanda - cool pics of the coyote!
Thanks, Lynn. Enjoyed seeing the panda baby. Not so much the octomom. Good grief!
He was pretty vocal! Cute that they have him on the floor now rather than on exam table!! Movin' and shakin' panda baby!
Happy Birthday Cindi!
Happy Birthday Mr Ceil!
And of course, a great big Happy Birthday to my Son, John!
And now back to you, Normabyrd!
Wonder where the panda escape was? Mits, since Tai will be going to Wolong, guess that means that they have rebuilt from the quake.....maybe video was shot there????
I was wondering that, too, Lynn. All I could tell was that it sounded Chinese.
Tai will not be going to WoLong, he will be going to a refuge in Beifangxia. WoLong was destroyed in the May 08 earthquake
One really cool thing about these two wet, heavy snows is that the 2-4 ft. piles of leaves around the perimeter of the driveway and "yard" areas is now only about 8" high! Compression will lead to faster composting!! And less chance that they will blow back where I don't want them!
HEDGIE---I have 'let's make a deal' on CH 9--CBS
Mits, I thought they were rebuilding Wolong.....TV news report had said that was where Tai was going...thanks for correction; reporter must have gotten it wrong.
Paula, it's Ceils' son Jim's birthday; hubby Jim's is Christmas day!
Hello all:)
HEY!---My contact in VA has given me a new AVATAR!!!---IS THAT COOL OR NOT!!!!----thanks contact!!! ho!!
Is that one okay Norma or would you like to try something different?
Love your new avatar, Norma.
OH PAULA!---Thanks!---you are so thoughtful!!!
Beifangxia is pronounced Bee- feng-sha
And the facility is open to the public the way that Wolong was.
cool avatar, Norma
Sharon/Norma You two work well together
Love the avatar - very Christmasy
Good morning! 27 this morning, up to 28 now and bright sun shine. So glad there is no moisture with this front.
Wanda, love the coyote picture. I, too, love all wildlife except for snakes and skunks, and Armadillos!!!!!!!!! Oh, and you are still ignoring our questions about being called Tiger. We are busy letting our imaginations run wild.
Lynn, thanks for the video. Love the way the keeper went running after the escapees!
Also enjoying all the new avatars!
And the eagle is the perfect touch!
Thanks SHIRLEY!---I like it too!---Thanks to my contact---(BLUEFIELD SHARON)!---Thanks again SHARON!
Been called to grandma duty. Hunter needs to be picked up at school. He has been sent to the nurse twice this morning. Complaining of aches and pains and is sniffling. Tom is off today, but Kathryn can't find him. Will return later.
MT nest at Sidney, but the eagles are really close by, you can hear them:)...love that cam
I don't remember TAI sleeping as much as this 'LITTLE PRINCE' in CALIFORNIA?----
That's what grandmas do best! Hunter will be so glad to see you!
I am trying to get through my emails
For some reason they are abundant...
I think it is because Cindi is at home today wrapping gifts! lol
SHIRLEY!---That's what GRANNIES are for!!---Would LOVE to be near mine----so I could pick them up!!
Norma, Inside Edition was 9:30-10! You were too late!!!
I must get dressed!---We cancelled our study group this am---I'm debating about going up for lunch!
Thanks HEDGIE---I think I was born late!----What did they show?
Shirley...yea for the Grandma's. Sometimes when the boys are sick for days I just bring them here. That way I am home and Laurel can continue to work. I retired in May 2000, first grandson was born in Oct. 2000. Perfect timing!
Okay, time to start moving. Gotta eat a bite and then head out shopping.
I just made a quick call to Dana - you could tell she was rushing a bit - getting some lunch. She knows we will be thinking of her even though we can't be there at 2 pm.
fishing cat, otters and sloth bear on view at NZ
Yesterday I was watching USeeWildLife
and the bucks were clashing their antlers - Was hoping you may have been watching, Mits.
Well thanks for checking on Dana, Jo. At least it has stopped raining here. The sun is even trying to come out.
sunny and 47° here
I missed the antler fighting yesterday, Jo....it was on the eagle tree this a.m. and the bird feeder...I have not signed up for it yet.
What a difference in temps, it's only 36 here. Back to work....
sloth bear feeding demo wrapping up....
I was able to see the clouded leopard and the fishing cat. Little otters went on their merry way.
yeah crazy, huh, Megan, and to think we are a mere 90 minutes away from each other.
lol...sloth bear wants more food.....
well off to see the animals in person...later:)
Norma, they just showed Diego crawling around on the floor of the exam room, and a little bit of the exam---including a finger check of his teeth and a comment about him starting to bite!
Shirley, hope Hunter feels better soon....Grammy's always help in that regard!!!
Stay warm Mits and enjoy your Asia Trail!
Off to the showers......
BBILW
Eagle at BWO
Hope Lynne is doing OK after her procedure this morning...and hope Raven is OK too
OMG check out the snowman cam!
LOTS of snow there!
Yea! Even Woody's nose is covered!
Here's a good one for you. Someone my youngest daughter knows ordered an Andrea Bocelli CD....when she got it, she sent it back because he sang all the songs in Italian.....duh....imagine that? An Italian opera singer singing in Italian!!!!
Oh Lynn that is funny.
Just received flowers from our son. Beautiful roses with Christmas greens.
Hubby is baking cookies and has Christmas music on. I am taking a break.
That is a good one, Lynn!
Hoping we hear from Lynne later today and that she is doing ok. Also that Raven is holding his own.
Ceil - I love the floral decorations and the smell of cookies baking - Could I visit ? I have Christmas songs playing also.
I know - I pulled a Margy/Ceil - I am suppose to be in the shower. Alexis is coming up after her nap - Her gram said she got a goose egg on the forehead. I bet it is the size of a meatball! She is ok.
Okay - Hello everyone ☺
I think I missed many of you.
Enjoyed reading all the comments, love Norma's new avatar
Thinking of Lynne and Raven,
Thanks JO for making a call to Dana, it means a lot to us and Dana....
Helen, hope your Zoo Day is a good one,
Ceil, wow, husband making cookies!
and Beautiful Christmas flowers from son.
Happy Birthday to your son Jim
Shirley, I saw where Culpeper schools were closed, was happy for you ! Hope Hunter will be okay, and
also Jo's ggd Alexis...maybe they just want to be with their grandmothers/great grandmothers ♥
Oh Yay, Cindi stayed home....what a way to spend a birthday ☺
Wanda is still dodging is with the Tiger Story ☺
got to go make cheese salad sandwiches . Mtg at 3 pm, "party" at 4:30 and work at 6 pm to 6 am. I have worked many a 16 hour shift so this won't be so bad, have a pretty good bank of sleep behind me.
Megan Liked your SLUMUDSH - only you would come up with that! Disappointed the kids did not get the day off except for a two hour delay here and there and ALL of Shirley's kids...but, out Midwest and Mountain States, well maybe a different story
I'll be back before leaving for work...
xo Best Wishes for a good, safe day for all ☺
NO EAGLES IN OUR NEST YET ??
While I am thinking of it:
Have you all ever noticed how many new threads come up at 9:11
I have noticed this many times....
today for example....
Thank you Steve.... ♥
If you get a chance the Maine cam is getting blasted with bad weather.
Thinking of Dana and family.
Jo come anytime. Door is always open.
Paula son is the 3rd. Very confusing even now. Yep jubby is a Christmas baby.
Margy - only 1 new 9:11 thread so far since Oct I think.
Must be Steve's break time...
I show 1:59 on my pc timer.
May everyone sent their thoughts and prayers to Dana as Ed looks over her.
((hugs))
It's getting winterish in So Cal now. It won't get into the 60°'s today, even though it's fairly sunny, and we are due for several straight days of rains and showers this week.
Nothing like you guys are getting, but at least it gives us a chance at breaking the drought here.
(( Hugs ♥ ♥ ))
And the sun is shining gloriously....☼
and I think the Royal Pair is soaring free, just like Ed....and so many of our loved ones...
Sorry for those typos!!
cam screen went black...moment of silence from there too
Good Morning/afternoon, everyone!
Count me in on the moment of silent prayer for Ed. Thinking of you, Dana, and your family, with lots of love. ((((HUGS)))) from me!
See that in Maine Ceil....
took the time, thanks...
James, a great name, why not keep naming kids that ☺
Hi Jim - glad your weather is to your liking
Hi, Jim! Hope your heat works! Andy was talking about the San Bernardinos being snow covered.............can you see them from your place?
Time to shake a leg. Just think of all the blog post space you will save by my being away for so many hours ☺
See you all Thursday morning sometime.
God Bless Us, Every One
and special request for Dana and her family...
xo ♥
margy, we shall miss you while you are gone for so long!!
High wind warnings up---60 mph possible! Hold onto your hats!!!
Hedgie,
I don't believe we can see the San Bernardino Mts. here ... have to drive a ways in that direction and around the end of the Santa Ana's first.
But we can see some of the Angelos Mountains ... Mt. Baldy, etc. I'll take a look later. If there's snow and the weather is fairly clear, we should be able to see it.
Also can sometimes see snow right behind Santa Ana on Saddleback Mountain. Just depends on how low the snow level is.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CINDI!!!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAULA'S JOHN!!!!!!!
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CEIL'S JIM!!!!!
Hope you are all having a fantastic day, in spite of the weather!
It's mighty cold here in SoCal again--was down to 40 last night, and currently 54 degrees--but sunny!
No rain today, but expecting more tomorrow thru the weekend. We're having a regular heat wave compared to temps back east, though! Promise me you'll all be careful, and REALLY bundle up if you go out!
Still thinking of Dana and family. You are all in my heart and in my prayers! Sending lots of love your way. :o}
Wanda, love the pictures of your 'Wiley Coyote'! He really IS well-camouflaged!
A little earlier today, there must have been about a hundred birds in our huge backyard tree, all treating me to a beautiful concert! They usually only do that just after dawn, but maybe they were thinking of Dana and family, too! Wish you all could have heard it--it was amazing!
bOTH eagles at BWO now.
Tom came and picked up Hunter. Kathryn wanted me to help her decide if he was really sick or having "schoolitis." His throat looks a little red and it is sore when I touch his neck, so Kathryn is trying to get an appointment. Temperature is normal. He says his ribs hurt, and I think that is from coughing so much. She was suspicious because he said his neck hurt when he was doing a worksheet.
Well, you know what--my fingers are frozen, I think because of my blood pressure medication. It "lessens circulation to your extremities," according to the info that comes with it. I think I'm gonna go take a shower,and thaw myself out. Then I'll put on my gloves, and KEEP my hands warm! May dig out the old thermals and put them on under my sweats, too. Cozy layers are the fashion statememt of the day! BBIALW... :0]
Margy,
Hope you have an uneventful day at work! Will be waiting for your return!
Stay warm, Andy.
I am sipping on a cup of Russian tea. Feels good all the way down.
Will just told me about this:
Strange Lights Over Norway
Shirley that is an interesting site.
Really strange lights, aren't they?
Have to go shower and get decent for tonight.
Andy You must look like something else out there in CA - walking around with your gloves on! Take a pic!
Glad to see most of the snow has melted in our nest. Just maybe we will get a visit at least to turn on the night light!
It is 44° here in the valley and at the nest it is almost 47° Our sky is brighter now than it has been all day.
I am awaiting the arrival of Alexis for the evening.
Shirley enjoy your evening and the article Will showed you about the lights - all I can say is that I am glad I didn't look out and see that because I would have been sure the aliens were going to beam me up!
Heading out to cook dinner for son...catch ya'll later tonight!
Alexis is here so down goes my pc.
Good afternoon.
I love NORMA FINDLAY!
Happy birthday to Cindi, John , and Jim.
Can't stop my imagination -- do you think maybe Tiger got into Wanda's tank?
Hope everyone has had a nice day and that the weather hasn't been too difficult for anyone.
Andy, congratulations on the 3 exams. YOU ROCK!
Beautiful coyote. None here but do have a red fox that visits on rare occasions. Don't like red fox -- saw it kill my little blind squirrel last year. Really enjoyed the African owl in flight.
No ideas for dinner tonight. Have taken super strength tylenol and don't much care.
Shirley, enjoy the night out and hope Hunter is better.
Jo, hope Alexis only has a chicken egg.
BBL
Ooops! Meant hawk eagle.
Wow, Shirley.....cool pic and site! Was going to sign up for the flyover phone alert....NOT....they charge 4.95 a month!! Oh, well. Strange explanation for the sighting, but since Ruskies are involved, guess it figures!
Hope that Hunter just has a virus, but with neck hurting, always better to get it checked!
Judie, maybe Frank will bring dinner home to you. Question: is the Ribster place still up at the corner of Ravensworth and 236? Used to have the best ribs ever!!
Hi Judie Hope you do find something to eat - Maybe eggs!
Judie, Hedgie anyone else.... I can't get my still cam up - are you having any problems with yours?
Jo I can't get on.
Thanks Ceil
I had wanted it up in case they came by and I could show Alexis.
New Live Feed coming at us ???
Like HO HO HO Merry Christmas!
Nope, Jo, can't get the page to open at all.
Well I really don't think it is weather related.......
But it is after 5:00 and don't guess anyone is around to address the issue.
I will, since Margy is at work, send the email to Steve .....
Email sent to FWS Steve Chase concerning Still Cam being Down
Hi there, I was tryig to find the video of the eagle hawk to show Frank but can't find it. Will someone, Thelma?, tell me which day or repost? Thanks.
Okay, Frank's awake so maybe a decision can be made about dinner. Ribsters closed about a year or so ago but we do have eggs.
Hi Jo, nope, no still cam for me either. Also, San Diego sees really slow today. Thought it was just me.
Hello friends.
Hi, everyone!
Well, I'm back, and much warmer now, thanks! I'm wearing 3 layers in the house! No gloves at the moment, though--impossible to type with them on. The sun has warmed it up to about 58 or 59 degrees by now. A regular heat wave! Just think, though--about 3 weeks ago we were having 85+ temperatures! Well, that's California for you. Can't make up its mind.
Hi Thelma! Hope your day went well!
Judie - in your email.
Still Cam is up/running
Night light on - so we missed any visit
Shirley, if it's cold again tomorrow, I'll have to consider your Russian tea. Just might do the trick! Hope Hunter is feeling better, by the way. Just being at Grandma's will probably help quite a bit! That always makes things better.
Judie, hope the industrial strength Tylenol takes the edge off the pain!
Hi, T-Bird! Good to see you here, too!
Shirley, those lights in the sky are wierd! Wonder what's going on. Glad it's not happening here!
Pretty interesting stuff.
Oops--Hubby's home from work. Better go. Be back later tonight!
Have a nice evening! :o]
Seeing all this bad weather out west made me think of Deb. It is clear in Vermillion but wind chill is a minus 12. It never did seem to get warm there but Deb loved it.
My message to Steve Chase came back as
not deliverable so.............
Back to the playground
Hi all! Made a big dent in my shopping today, Bought for Jack a new Garmin for our travels. He will enjoy that!
Going to watch The Christmas Spectacular tonight on TV, Will remind me of seeing it last year on Broadway. Sigh!
Shirley, how is Hunter?
Lows possibly in the teens tonigh, Brrrrr!
DANA.......thinking of you. Hang in there, Girl. Know that is rough, but know that we are thinking of you!
Alexis has gone home - we had a fun time.
I am playing Christmas Hangman...
Anxious to get a small message from Lynne to know she is ok - I have a
feeling that Raven isn't doing well.
Thinking about you Lynne.
Watching the Rockettes Christmas Spectaclar on PBS. Remembering last year when Michael took me to New York. I want to go again!
Just finished supper, Jack cooked.......we had fried eggs, bacon, grits and waffles. Yummy!
Hi everyone! Birthday wishes to all those celebrating and prayers for all in need/want.
I just watched the Panda escapade - LOL!!!
Must catch up and will be back
.... later
Jo, new Criminal Minds at 9!
Whoa! Lynn I'll be there!
Thanks for the reminder.....
I have had to watch the escaping panda cub more then once - I love it!
Going to do some things before my TV show comes on.
BBILW
Hi, Diann. Like your avatar!
I was wondering about Lynne and Raven, too, Jo.....
Lolly, don't find the show on any of our PBS stations....:(
Yes, Lynn, I figure it is a local showing. I am really enjoying it! Ahhh, memories!
I've been wondering if they change the show year to year, This program is exactly like last years, Only....Michael and I had a drink in a glass with a lighted stirrer. The stem of the glass was Rockettes legs. lol
After the show we went to the gift shop. Michael bought Ashley a Rockettes Christmas outfit. lol She modeled it (quickly) last Christmas.
Well, Sheetz, no wonder I was frustrated. The eagle hawk was in an email! I really do need sleep!
Frank cooked -- brought in Chinese. Was ever so grateful.
I, too, hope Lynne is okay and that Raven is better. Maybe she'll join us later.
Lolly, enjoy watching the Rockettes -- nice memories.
Strange lights in Norway sky made National news tonight. Guess no one has an explanation, yet. Maybe Santa test-driving a new laser-sleigh?
Off to watch some t.v. Have also been playig Christmas hangman. I love that game.
Hi everyone, I was just trying to catch up but can't concentrate too well.
My colon/endoscopy went fine, nothing in the colon, some inflammation in the esophagus and biopsy done just to be sure no problems.
Raven is no better at all, despite the high dose of Pred, and the Ultram. I was expecting to see some glimmer of hope today but I have not. She snapped at Steve last night and me just a little while ago. She isn't even trying to get up at this point. If there is no sign of improvement by tomorrow afternoon, the time by which the vet said if there was none, there would likely not be at that point, then we will take her when Steve gets home to end her suffering. My heart is breaking, but I so appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers...it means more than you can know.
I will check in again when I can. And as always, my prayers are with all of you, my eaglet amigos!
and one more thing....(as usual!) I am LOVING all of the new Christmas avatars! I hope you all will send or post pics of your trees and decorations!
Oh, Lynne! My heart is breaking for you right now, Poor Raven is really feeling bad if she snapped at you.
So glad your colon/endoscopy is over with. Now you can concentrate on Raven,
Yes, Judie, watching this program is great. Last year, the weekend before Christmas, my son, Michael took me to NYC for a long weekend, We saw two Broadway shows, took in Rockefeller center, dined elegantly. It snowed 6" while there. Central Park was beautiful. This was my first time to NYC, Very special!
Think I am going to go wrap presents. Tomorrow I pack and cook for a dinner party tomorrow night. Then Friday morning Jack and I leave for a 500 mile trip to McAllen for Christmas at my brothers. My sister will also be there. Will not have computer, so I will not be getting on. No need for a silver alert. We will be back Monday night.
Lynne, so glad that your procedure went well, but my heart is breaking for you regarding Raven. Afraid that it is time. Hugs and prayers coming your way. I sure feel your pain.
Where did everyone go? Am I on the wrong page?
HELLO..HELLO!
Oh Lolly how fun to be in NYC at Christmas time! I always wanted to do that...always figured I'd ice skate a Rockefeller. I don't know how to ice skate but I figured, what a great place to fall on my butt on my first try!
Have a wonderful safe trip this weekend!
Off to have ice cream....
OK, Raven is TRYING TO GET UP. It's gonna be a long night, I think....
Lolly, hope your weekend is great. We will miss you!
Good night all.
Lynne prayers for Raven.
Concerning the Norway lights: in case anyone missed it,further down at the end of the article was this:
UPDATE: Circumstantial evidence is mounting that the phenomenon was caused by a malfunctioning rocket, possibly an ICBM launched from a Russian submarine. A Navtex no-fly alert was issued for the White Sea on Dec. 9th, and photographers appear to have recorded the initial boost phase of a launch below the spiral (see inset). A rocket motor spinning out of control could indeed explain the spiral pattern, so this explanation seems plausible, although it has not yet been confirmed.
Sure sounds plausible.
Evening Everyone!!! Finally getting on a computer today.Got to work late & stayed late as got new windshield in AM.
Been putting just a few decorations out~~~like wreath on door, lovely artificial bouquet of white poinsettias. Put their vase on top china cabinet___the one kitties can't get on top!!!They've been a big help getting things out of basement closet. Wanted to see some Xmas cheer & try to get a little perky & not depressed.
Lynne2, so sorry about Raven. Is that the older dog in pics that looks like collie/shepherd?
Know it's getting late for some, so Pleasant Feather Dreams to all those hitting the hay.
Going back to Barbara Wa Wa Top 10 show ☺
Hi, Lynn...must be something good on TV. I don't like Wednesday nights for TV:(
While no one is listening, I will tell you why I am called TIGER.
It is not nearly as mysterious or exciting as some my think.
Back in the 1970s, I bougt a dress that had Tiger stripes all over it. Gene liked the dress because it was exactly the color of my hair and I have green eyes. Just for fun, he started calling me TIGER. For twenty years, he called me SWEET (don't puke), it was embarrasing sometimes, so I told him I liked being called TIGER, so I have been called that for thirty years now. My Grandchildren call me grandma tiger or GT. Can you imagine the looks on people's faces in the stores when they heard me being called GRANDMA TIGER? I think they all were 10 or 12 years old before they knew my real name was Wanda and not Tiger:)
So, to make a long story short...people still look at us strangly when Gene calls me TIGER ...no stranger than they did when he called me SWEET:)
NOW YOU KNOW;)
Wish my story was more exciting, but if it was, then I wouldn't have been able to tell you!
Lynne, glad your tests are over and you are 99% OK. Get that inflamation cleared up. Gerd, maybe?
We had two collies that we had to put to sleep and there is no easy way to do it. I couldn't go to the Vet, couldn't stand to watch them die. One of the Collies was Karla's and she held her while the Vet gave her the shot and until she died. What a strong girl she was (still is).
Let Raven go in peace, Lynne and God Bless You.
Yes Loretta, Raven is the dog in the picture...she IS a collie, just shaved down! I have to post some when she had her REAL collie hair. I started getting her shaved 2 years ago when she was becoming intolerant of the constant brushing required to keep her hair matt free.
Well well grandma tiger....hahahaha!
that's SWEET!
Going to bed now...
Wanda, I know how hard it is for some people to stay with their pets at that time, but I will stay with Raven. Not sure if Steve can do it though. I've been there for 3 cats and 2 dogs of my own, and 2 dogs died at home (execept for Raven who I've had since she was 1, the other dogs were all older already when I adopted them.)and countless others that I was with when I worked at vet hospitals. Almost always, it's very peaceful. BUT NEVER EASY.
Russia has denied a launch.
Lynne, happy your procedures was uneventful. I am deeply saddened for the decision you must make.
Wanda, how SWEET of you to make up such a harmless story about why Gene calls you Tiger. Still think there's a secret story somewhere.
Lolly, hope you and Jack have a safe and fun visit. We'll miss you.
Hi Loretta.
Going to try to get some sleep. Turning my light off but leaving the night light on for others. Andy, please turn on the security system when you come in.
Good night and prayers for all.
OK, looks like I still have the floor.
I'll have to tell you about my day.
Went to GG's this afternoon and met with Karla and Dustin. Gene and I fixed some shrimp and squash soup while we were there. GG ate a bit of shrimp and about half a cup of soup...said she felt better after drinking the soup. I think she does need that nasty old GB removed. Going to decide after seeing her primary care doctor next week.
I'm so proud of Dustin, I must tell you about it. Karla got a phone call from a Police Officer and he told her that Dustin had broken up a very nasty fight at school. It seems a young fella was hitting and kicking another and when he tried to strangle him, Dustin pulled him off and threw him up against the wall and told him to cool it. Officer told Karla exactly what had happened so that in case the school called her, she would know what it was all about. Hope he doesn't get into trouble over this...I think he is a hero:)
Before I forget:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINDI (I have not had the pleasure of meeting you, but I LOVE your jokes!)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PAULA'S HANDSOME SON JOHN:)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU JIM...we know Ceil made your day!;)
Hey, Wanda....nice Tiger tale! Funny that the grands called you that, too!
Way to go, Dustin!!! Where does he go to school? Handley?
Loretta, glad you got the windshiled replaced. Hope insruance company did right by you.
I have always stayed with my dogs at the end....:( and my lady vet who retired last year would hug me afterwards, and then sent sympathy cards.
Judie, can we expect anything else from the Russians??!! LOL!
I am going to say my goodnights. Early morning tomorrow---have to take SIL to VA Center apptmts. Need to run some errands after ditching him, so probably won't "see" y'all til late afternoon.
Prayers for all.
P.S. Wanda, it was Ceil's sons' b-d, not jubby.....Jim,III lives out west!
So, Wanda, that's your "story" and guess you are sticking to it! lol That is as it should be. We really should not pry into your private life. lol
We have special names, too. Jack is the ol Goat and he calls me an Ol Bat. Really touching, right? I even have a bat and a goat charms on a bracelet that we purchased on our honeymoon, 44 1/2 years ago!
I got stranded in my recliner Well not stranded but confined by Marvin (my large cat) as he decided to sleep on my lap. It was so nice and warm I didn't push him off! So I watched 2 TV shows.
Lynne - I am thankful for your test results. I know what is facing you and it is a heart breaking experience. Since Raven is snapping at you and Steve - then it is time.
((((hugs)))) to all!
Evening, all!
Back from really nice dinner with John, Ajay and grandkids. Can't believe John ate 2 platefuls...don't know where he put it all. Birthday surprise was a new gas grill...Ajay and her grandfather assembled it in the basement of their home today, and I surprised John tonight with it. Very nice evening all around.
Wanda, love the tiger story. Way to go Dustin, I would be proud of him too.
Judy - hope the xtra strength stuff helps take the edge off the pain.
Lynne - glad everything went well. So Raven is not doing much better. Hugs and prayers for you, I know what you are going through.
Lynn - have a great day out and about!
Andy - glad you aced those tests. Hope it warms up a little for you out there!
Jo - Was it meatball night with Alexis? And did you get the address from your hairdresser on the eagle nest?
Will just showed me this.
Fredericksburg Top Pictures of the Year
What a nice surprise! I did not even know the picture actually transferred to their site.
Oh, and Wanda & Jack - have a great trip and visit with your family.
Split is coming
I'm splitting for bed, Night to all and
Hugs to all ♥
Wanda - you tell Karla that she has done very well in bringing up her son!
He did what his gut told him to do and I applaud him! Good humanitarian action by Dustin!
S P L I T
I hit it right on the number! Usually I am one behind or one ahead!
I am going to go down that hallway
Good Night All
Prayers for all
I pray Dana's day has left her at peace
