Days Inn, that is where Deb stayed last year.
Not far from me, but I am all hemmed in with work both Sat and Sun...no breakfast dates possible.
Cracker Barrel is nearby, Shoney's, and Bob Evans....

The Day's Inn was not the nicest place ever, the room was okay, but the hallway was kind of scary. Of course, I was alone and Sissy won't be.
Lot's of construction workers hanging in the halls and smoking.
Wow, Margy, ours was 85 pts.!! I would have been there 5 mos. after I was diagnosed....glad it worked out because I make a lot more on disability retirement!!

Sure hope you complained, Deb! It is used a short-term residence for many workers---temps, or people transferring in to area who haven't found a house yet. Owner had died not too long before you were here....so maybe lots of turmoil. But we did have a Clinton-administration related murder there back in those days!!!

Lynn, I just figured it was mostly because of my lack of exposure to different lifestyles. I live a very sheltered life here in SD. There are places here where you do get that experience, but small town Vermillion isn't one of them!
Oh, Deb, people are basically the same wherever we go! Some places are just less sophisticated than others---believe me, culture shock hit me full-face when I came here from the city---and it was only 75 miles!!

Old furniture has been moved out of my family room. Tom came over and helped Will take care of it. I have retired from furniture hauling. I see that Tom forgot to take the coffee table. Oh well, we can take care of that later.

No, I was just telling you all that Laurel just called and I am excited. I am going on a church retreat next month and she called to say she is going too. We have never gone together. She went one time, but for some reason I was not able to go. It is going to be a really special weekend.

True, Lolly. They knew I was having problems. I filled them in on that. It's not the first time I've gotten in a state over some medical issue since the cancer thing. Don't want them to have to go through unnecessary stress. I decided to lean on you all this time, and on one of my friends at work. Thanks for the support.
I had an aunt who was climbing a ladder--I think she was in her 80's to clean out the gutters. Her handyman was afraid to do it. (He was elderly also.) She lived to be over 100 years old.
Well the question is: Will the Good Wife or Won't the Good Wife... Stayed tuned ..........

The retreat is always in Athens in east Texas. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has a camp there on a small lake. It's in the woods, lots of Dogwood. It is a beautiful place.

Mattie just got up with a headache and her stomach hurting. I think I am going to keep her home today and see how she does. Don't want to take any chances. I am not normally an overprotective person about stuff like that but, with all the bugs out there, I think it is better to err on the side of caution. She is not running a fever, though.

Yeah, I did. It was double the amount of the Days Inn. I paid for Friday night in Winchester and Saturday night at the Days Inn for less than one night at the Clarion. BUT, I want us to be safe, so I don't know what I should do.
Wow- double huh. Probably the guys Deb was talking about were guys working construction, they get a hotel room cause they don't live around here, and it's cheap if they share a room. I looked at some reviews for the Days Inn, some were good, some not.
There's a hotel in Charlestown that is fairly new, but I can't remember the name of it, it's on 230 about 25 minutes out of Shepherdstown. Having CRS this morning, can't come up with the name.
Did you try the Comfort Inn in Shepherdstown?
