Not far from me, but I am all hemmed in with work both Sat and Sun...no breakfast dates possible. Cracker Barrel is nearby, Shoney's, and Bob Evans....
Well, that would be nice... 21-1/2 years in...in April my age and years of service equals 80 - that is when one can consider retiring...but I doubt if I can afford it :(
The Day's Inn was not the nicest place ever, the room was okay, but the hallway was kind of scary. Of course, I was alone and Sissy won't be. Lot's of construction workers hanging in the halls and smoking.
Wow, Margy, ours was 85 pts.!! I would have been there 5 mos. after I was diagnosed....glad it worked out because I make a lot more on disability retirement!!
Sure hope you complained, Deb! It is used a short-term residence for many workers---temps, or people transferring in to area who haven't found a house yet. Owner had died not too long before you were here....so maybe lots of turmoil. But we did have a Clinton-administration related murder there back in those days!!!
I was just looking at the weather underground site and they have changed the forecast again..bizarre October forecast...check this out, sure it will change agan, hopefully...Thursday Night Rain and freezing rain likely. Lynn, I just figured it was mostly because of my lack of exposure to different lifestyles. I live a very sheltered life here in SD. There are places here where you do get that experience, but small town Vermillion isn't one of them!
Oh, Deb, people are basically the same wherever we go! Some places are just less sophisticated than others---believe me, culture shock hit me full-face when I came here from the city---and it was only 75 miles!!
Old furniture has been moved out of my family room. Tom came over and helped Will take care of it. I have retired from furniture hauling. I see that Tom forgot to take the coffee table. Oh well, we can take care of that later.
No, I was just telling you all that Laurel just called and I am excited. I am going on a church retreat next month and she called to say she is going too. We have never gone together. She went one time, but for some reason I was not able to go. It is going to be a really special weekend.
True, Lolly. They knew I was having problems. I filled them in on that. It's not the first time I've gotten in a state over some medical issue since the cancer thing. Don't want them to have to go through unnecessary stress. I decided to lean on you all this time, and on one of my friends at work. Thanks for the support.
I had an aunt who was climbing a ladder--I think she was in her 80's to clean out the gutters. Her handyman was afraid to do it. (He was elderly also.) She lived to be over 100 years old.
Well, Shirley, we are good leaning posts!!! And our prayers are effective, too! Lolly, do be careful on ladders! Retreat sounds like a nice spiritual respite for you both!
The retreat is always in Athens in east Texas. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has a camp there on a small lake. It's in the woods, lots of Dogwood. It is a beautiful place.
I am out of my imposed time-out from Hughes! Lots of mail to catch up on!! Good night to all here...heading for emails and FB for a little while before bed. Sleep well, sweet dreams. Prayers going up for all. See you in the frosty morning---argh!
Good TV tonight! Really liked The Good Wife tonight. A jury member was bribed into voting for the defendant...I imagine that happens in real life more times than we know. Yes, Jo, will she??
Thank you all again for all the birthday greetings, cards and ecards. It means a lot to me to have you all in my life:)
Yep, gonna be very chilly here the next several days, make sure you bring warm clothes with you. ANd just to clarify last night's info- Danny Casolaro died in the SHeraton Hotel in Martinsburg in 1991. He was investigating a company called Inslaw, the collapse of BCCI, Iran contra, and the October surprise when the hostages came home from Iran.
Mattie just got up with a headache and her stomach hurting. I think I am going to keep her home today and see how she does. Don't want to take any chances. I am not normally an overprotective person about stuff like that but, with all the bugs out there, I think it is better to err on the side of caution. She is not running a fever, though.
Yeah, I did. It was double the amount of the Days Inn. I paid for Friday night in Winchester and Saturday night at the Days Inn for less than one night at the Clarion. BUT, I want us to be safe, so I don't know what I should do.
Wow- double huh. Probably the guys Deb was talking about were guys working construction, they get a hotel room cause they don't live around here, and it's cheap if they share a room. I looked at some reviews for the Days Inn, some were good, some not.
There's a hotel in Charlestown that is fairly new, but I can't remember the name of it, it's on 230 about 25 minutes out of Shepherdstown. Having CRS this morning, can't come up with the name.
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!---I just scanned yesterdays blog!---SISSY---Doesn't DAYS INN motels have a good reputation?---Insist on a non-smoking room!----You aren't going to spend much time in your room anyway!!---RELAX & ENJOY your weekend!----

I think we will be fine at the Days Inn. Like Norma said, we aren't going to be there much, just to sleep. Tom is with us and he will keep us safe (has for 32 years now).
Yeah, I think there is a lot of stuff going on in that part of the state this weekend. Most of the hotels are full. As long as the room is clean, we will be fine.
TIS' a cool 37° here this am---predicted FROST---tomorrow for sure!!---DEB they also mentioned maybe some snow flakes by end of week!! Sometime those weather folks get carried away!!---ho!
Good morning and good news EagleAmigos....DUE TO THE POOR WEATHER FORECAST IN GRANTSVILLE, CAMPING IS OFFICIALLY CANCELED....OPEN HOUSE, HERE WE COME!!!!

so, I play the Powerball every once in awhile. ☺
Okay, tubby I said, and tubby it is:

Smoking in the hallway -- Sissy will not be happy about that!
I don't think they were supposed to be smoking. Of course, I am sure those guys won't still be there!
I hope they moved on, anyway.

It was an investigative journalist who obviously got too close to something!
That was Danny Casolaro, you can google the name, too complicated to explain. His death was suspicious.
The Good Wife show is looking very good tonight!!
Right you are, Megan!!!
Lynn, I just figured it was mostly because of my lack of exposure to different lifestyles. I live a very sheltered life here in SD. There are places here where you do get that experience, but small town Vermillion isn't one of them!

Lynn! I just typed a long blog and you threw me off!!!! lol
I thought it was the Holiday Inn where the Casolaro murder was...
right next door to Days Inn but before its time...
maybe?
Hope I didn't throw Lolly off too...
And be careful what you leave in your car....and don't go out alone at night...
:(
Nope! I am pouting! Not going to retype what I was saying.
Oh, gee! Sissy is going to change motels for sure!
I have learned to highlight, copy, and then re-paste things so if it happens I can just paste it on there again. It's habit now.
No it's not that bad, 0 but the smoking is a bothersome thing, hadn't heard of that before.
Sorry that happened, Deb...that's crummy.
Old furniture has been moved out of my family room. Tom came over and helped Will take care of it. I have retired from furniture hauling. I see that Tom forgot to take the coffee table. Oh well, we can take care of that later.
a Clinton-administration related murder?
Good idea about the copy and paste.

Shirley, we will want to see pictures!
I will have to check that murder out.
Ready to go catch some z's now. Just finished tomorrow's lesson plan. Have to do the lab stuff tomorrow, but I am happy that things are not too bad!
Did not tell my children I was worried. They do not need to know.
Good night all!
I will take some pictures. It is going to be nice.
Sounds really nice, Lolly. You do lead an active life, woman.
Night Shirley! Can understand about not wanting your children to worry. HOWEVER, that is what families are for...to love and support each other.
Yes, and I plan on staying active. I was climbing a ladder today to pick pecans. Very thankful I am able to do so!!!

Good night Jo, Deb and Shirley! Margy, it's your time, too!
Yes, it sure is, Lynn. I was just working on a particular prayer composition. MY homework for the night.
Lolly - sounds wonderful...tell us where it will be...
Rest well, all, Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our life, remember ☺

iT'S not impossible that all four Peregrine chicks at Alcoa have hatched. There's a lot of white fluff, and at times it looks like four heads....
There's one note from the expert at Frodo's site, and one viewer thinks she has found the new building where the pair are nesting. No cams yet.

It is both eagles this morning!! Good morning Belle and Liberty!! So good to see them this morning!!
It sure is, they are right on schedule this morning.
Hope Mattie feels better.
Lord, I was just reading back on the blog about the Days Inn in Martinsburg. Reckon I should change motels??
Did you already cancel the Clarion room? Was it a lot more expensive?
Yeah, I did. It was double the amount of the Days Inn. I paid for Friday night in Winchester and Saturday night at the Days Inn for less than one night at the Clarion. BUT, I want us to be safe, so I don't know what I should do.
Wow- double huh. Probably the guys Deb was talking about were guys working construction, they get a hotel room cause they don't live around here, and it's cheap if they share a room. I looked at some reviews for the Days Inn, some were good, some not.

Yep, Comfort Inn is sold out.
Good morning everyone...have a good one
Sissy, how much was the Clarion?
Holiday Inn Express in Charlestown, probably Ranson actually.
Later I gotta go to work.
Total for the Clarion for one night was 139 or something like that. Just more than we wanted to pay since we are going to DC Sunday.
