Watch out for flying pandas Mits! :)

floralgirl said...

Howdy all:) Wind is starting to pick up here, about 15 mph right now.
Mourning doves, love them, people definitely hunt them around here. We have had large flocks of them in the yard the past week, and we're putting food out for them so they stay around our property where they will be safe from hunters.
Haven't seen a hummer yet today:(

Have a great day!

Mits said...

lol, Sharon.....duck!!!!!!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Woodpecker out here hanging off the bottom of the feeder. Loving having birds again!

Judie said...

Good morning, everyone.

Thank you, Steve, for the sunshiny new thread!

Andy, so happy your daughter and granddaughter will be visiting. Don't worry too much about cleaning. The important part is being together and having a few days to catch up. Also, could not believe the Honda good news. Know that is a relief.

Okay, I guess all the mystery is over. Wanda has Gene (hope he's feeling better today) and Lolly has Jack (great times in N.M. being had by all).

If you haven't already, check out S.D. site for update on naming Diego. Seems only visitors can submit suggestions.

Well, have delayed long enough with fun trying to catch up. Must begin grading exams. Back this afternoon.

Morning all.
Heading out for cut and color----think I'll tell her not to bother with styling--it'll all be a rats' nest by time I get to truck!!!
Talk to you all this afternoon.

Mits said...

Lolly said...

Good morning! Well, guess what! It is 47 and raining. Jack is cooking a yummy breakfast and then we are heading to the Children's museum. Sure hope weather is better tomorrow. Tomorrow is balloon day.

Have been managing to get on once in a while, that is good but we can not get TV! They do not have cable here and our antenna will not go up. I want TV for news and weather! Better buy a paper today.

Jacob is working in a work book. We do "homework" each night. This is just a little workbook from the store. He loves doing his homework. He will be reading soon. Yea! He is going to be a greast student. That's my boy!

Have a great day!

10/07/09:
We saw some interesting activity from the eagles on our platform. Since it's too early for eggs, we can only assume they were bonding. Hopefully this is our Eagle Cam pair. .....there is a picture of them mating:)

Forgot to report this bit of news yesterday. We were in the process of making some espresso. I was sitting at my computer watching the new Train video and lo and behold, the espresso machine blew up. Now, had I not been watching the lovely Train video, I probably would have been hurt really bad from the hot espresso and steam going everywhere. Thanks Train and Pat! :)

paula eagleholic said...

Congrats, Bob.

Have fun at the zoo, Mits.

Sharon - bet that was a mess!

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Yeah, I am thinking we are going to be finding coffee grounds in places that we didn't even know there were places!

floralgirl said...

Congrats, Bob!
Wind is really gusting, hope Jo's power comes back on soon. Lights have flickered a couple of times here.

Glad to hear about Bob's pictures being used on the CBF calendar. But I couldn't find the calendar on their site. Does anyone know where it can be viewed and perhaps bought??

C(°Ù¿°)D

Jim

floralgirl said...

It is on the CBF site under books and cards. The calendar is $15.00 bucks, but for me the shipping is almost $12.00

floralgirl said...

In the online store section on the site.

I'm not catching the down under Peregrine site (Alcoa) in the daylight, but their newest blog entry has a picture of three newly hatched chicks.

floralgirl said...

Garden is tired, Jim, as is the gardener. Lack of late summer rains and current chilly nighttime temps have slowed the garden down. My flower season is over for this year, just made my last delivery this morning. Now we are digging and dividing bulbs, and getting ready to plant some more as soon as they get here.

paula eagleholic said...

I'm back----not a happy camper. Beautician was not home when I got there......I waited for about a half-hour...and even tried phoning...but no luck, so came on home. Caught up on mail, and had lunch, so now back here.
Congrats, Bob---that is so cool! Maybe we could place a bulk order of calendars and Lisa would send them all at once and we could distribute at dinner....what does everyone think?
Bob---IS there a Don Rumsfeld tavern in Romney??? Wonder if Norma knows??

Jo, glad your power is back on. I'm holding my breath here.

Shar--so glad you weren't close to the machine when it blew---argh!!! Do you think it was defective or just worn out??

Megan, sorry the flowers are gone...:(

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Lynn, it was probably worn out but still shouldn't blow up like that! The plastic just blew apart.

hedgie said...

Just talked to hairdresser---she forgot to write my apptmt. in book----argh! Going back at 3. Duh!

hedgie said...

Mits, guess you are having a breeze at the zoo! Too bad your puter crashed....was it your PC or laptop?

hedgie said...

No, Sharon, it shouldn't...but think the heat makes the plastic brittle and guess it can only take it for so long...dangerous!!!

floralgirl said...

The calendar with Bob's pictures is sold by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. It's not conencted to BW. The UPS shipping was $11.63

Red said...

Howdy folks. I'm feeling much better without a gall bladder. Had my follow up appointment yesterday and I pretty free to do as I please (That can only lead to trouble). LOL. Glad to see recent activity in the NCTC nest. I have flocks of doves at my feeders during hunting season too. Saw one hummer still here this morning.

Red said...

Ohh BTW Sharon. I love your new do. lol

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Thanks Red!!!! Glad you are feeling better!

hedgie said...

Really interesting info about the newly discovered ring around Saturn....google it! The distances are mind-boggling, as well as size comparisons!

Lolly, forgot to say that I'm glad you got WiFi connection; too bad about TV reception. Hope weather is great when you get to Albuquerque!!

hedgie said...

Hi ya', Red!! Glad you are doing so well! When do you think your hummers will head for S.A.?? You might have lots of northerners stopping in for fuel before they head on further south!
You BETTER stay out of trouble, or Mrs. Red will be on your case!

hedgie said...

Megan, haven't looked to see---did you notice? Is that a flat-rate shipping charge regardless of number ordered?? Or a per-rate?

hedgie said...

Okay, gotta get ready to go AGAIN. BBL!

floralgirl said...

that's the base shipping rate for one calendar to my location.

floralgirl said...

Good news Red! Glad to hear you're feeling better.

paula eagleholic said...

The shipping rate is the same for 10 calendars....do we have 10 buyers? I didn't try more than 10...Makes for $1.16 shipping...

paula eagleholic said...

Howdy Red, glad you are feeling much better! How's the O2?

Mema Jo said...

Sharon - I am thankful the coffee didn't brew and then you explode when you drank it! Sound pretty potent!
I thought you were an Ice Tea person!

Mema Jo said...

Hey there Red! Glad you came over here for a breather! I still have not gone into Farmville! lol
Heard anything out of Glo in her travels yet? Since you are feeling so great - why not come on in for the Open House! Would love to meet you.

Eagle-Eyed Shar said...

Mema Jo, I am an iced tea person but I also love coffee with espresso shots sometimes!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!
Happy Wednesday! I'm getting here late again. Slept in this morning, and it felt really good. Am doing Anatomy homework, and studying for the Pharmacology test tonight. Still without my car, so feeling claustrophobic again. But, they are busily at work replacing the transmission; we should be able to pick it up late tomorrow afternoon! Can't wait.
I've got a bunch of Mourning doves here--get as many as 16 at a time.
I can't for the life of me figure why anyone would want to shoot them either--hear there's only about 1 bite of edible meat on each one, so it doesn't seem like it's worth the effort, even if you were the hunting type. Poor little things! They're so sweet!
Love to hear them cooing early in the morning.
Am trying to de-clutter the house before the kids get here. Our ggd is a ball of fire, and will get into EVERYTHING! A few well-placed kiddie latches will help considerably. It's been a long time since we've had a really busy little person staying with us!
Don't want to wear myself out too much, though. So much catching up to do, we'll probably be up pretty late every night!
Sharon, thank GOD the Train stopped at your house! Guess I'll be going to Starbuck's for expresso, not making my own! Sure glad you're OK!

Ms Bookworm said...

Red, good to hear you're doing so well. Amazing how they do gallbladder surgery nowadays!

Judie said...

Congratulations, Bob. That sure is a feel good compliment.

Knew a train could be good for something-- so glad you weren't hurt.

Hi Jim.

Welcome back, Jo.

Hi, Jim. So happy you're feeling better. Just stay outta trouble.

Windy here, also. Not too bad but trees are shakin and aswingin.

Now to try to get a little reading done before my second class tomorrow. Starting on the learning and memory -- doubt they'll learn much.

Oh, Cornish hens, wild rice, salad for dinner tonight.

Cheers,
Judie

Ms Bookworm said...

Sounds like it's pretty windy today for quite a few of you--better put rocks in your pockets!
We get a lot of that out here with the Santa Ana winds in the fall. Can't say I'd miss them if they ever decided to disappear!

Ms Bookworm said...

Judie,
Dinner sounds good! I'll have to go meditate in front of the 'fridge for a while to see what's available here.
Bob, congratulations on the calendar pictures! Way to go!
Megan, with you could be here! Our hummers are putting on quite a show today, chasing each other and scolding. It's a regular 3-ring circus!
Well, better get back to the books. Hard to remember so many drug names! Will check back later, probably after school tonight. Have a great rest-of-the-day! :o]

Ms Bookworm said...

Megan, WISH you could be here! (Oops!)

paula eagleholic said...

Judie said...

Andy, good luck at school tonight. Let us know how it goes. We're your most bestest cheerleaders!

Meatballs? On Wednesday night? Oh, good grief! I just keep getting more and more confusider and confusider. I thought meatballs were Tuesday and Gene belongs to Lolly and Jack belongs Wanda. I need a vacation in W.V.

Deb, sorry about the overtime. Hope the compensation helps.

Huge eagle prayers for Reese. Bad with adults. Unimaginable for children.

Lynn, got a great sauce to drizzle (pour) over. Want it? Good for regular chicken, too.

Going to check the critter cams again. All was MT 30 minutes ago.

Also plan to watch a program on my channel 285 (The Bureau) at 9pm. Supposed to be about murders in nearby Gainesville and an FBI profiler I have trained with.

One thing about it, never a shortage of crimes to keep me current.

Cheers,
Judie

paula eagleholic said...

Thanks, Megan!

hedgie said...

Judie, yes, I'd like the sauce recipe, please. Thanks for tip of The Bureau---never saw it before. You have DirecTV, too, don't you? I'll catch it on another showing later this week---cool!

hedgie said...

If it's UPS, Paula, they SHOULD arrive at your place in a couple of days. I'll put a check in the mail to you in the morning. TY!!!

Good late evening, all.

Lynn, will send the recipe by Friday. Easy. About 5 ingredients almost always on hand.

The Bureau is a new program. My teacher/mentor is Roy Hazelwood. I'm told the program about the Gainesville murders will air again at 6pm on Sat. I have satellite dish and the channel is 285 - Discovery Times. A colleague has Direct TV with channel 285. I was particularly interested because the case involved an organized serial killer.

Diego and Mom snoozing. Missed all other critters today.

Turning my light out but leaving the night light on for others. Back tomorrow sometime.

Cheers,
Judie

hedgie said...

Too bad, Deb. Better luck next game. Will it be a 5 or 7 game series?

hedgie said...

Good night, Judie. Yep--it repeats Sat. night on my DirecTV 285. Have DVR set!

Very slow day at the shop...maybe it was the wind keeping everyone home. Busy time will be from the 19th on til the 30th.

Gene is 95% better today! The Tylenol with Codeine allowed him to have a peaceful nights sleep and the other med with prednisone has decreased the swelling tremendously! I feel like a new person too:)
Headed for bed.

I'll say windy this morning! I decided to get off I-70 at Frederick and bypass the hills by taking 340 through Charles Town, didn't want a tractor trailer falling over on my car!

Lynn prayers for your schoolteacher's grand-daughter. That's tough.

Sisters and I had a very very nice visit.

Know I will miss most of everyone this late.

Deb Hope your Twins make it through this series. What I have always liked about the Yankees, is Mariano Rivera...and Andy Pettite always reminded me of one of my nephews.
But I will root for the Twins!

America! America! ..."
(from
America the Beautiful, of course.)
Jo - thought of these words coming through the Frederick area. Must have been soybean fields! xo

I ate like a horse! Good thing I packed my bibs with the ever-expanding waistline option. Sleeping in a different bed, I was totally stiff and almost incapacitated for the first four hours of each morning! Talk about feeling old !
Thanks for all the good wishes before during and after; it is important to be with family...and it doesn't get to happen often enough with us all spread out...

I did holler for Megan, Jo and Paula, Helen, Judie, and I really hollered loud for Ceil and Mary Margy 'cause I was a little out of range of downtown Baltimore...

Deb hate to say I am well familiar with that mandatory overtime stuff....really makes it hard to make plans and stick to them :(

I'll be more sociable in the morning and catch up on some comments I made notes on...

Good Night, Rest Well, and God Bless Us, Every One.

Got on but do not know if I can post. Will try!

Woke up this morning to rain and 47. Went to the children''s museum and we were there for 3 1/2 hours. Had to drag Jacob out. It is all hands on and he LOVED it. We enjoyed it too.

Getting up at 5 in the morning to leave for the balloons. Oh, we do hope they go up!!!

Asking for prayers for Laurel. She has been back at school all week, but she is feeling worse. Looks like she may be getting a secondary infection, still coughing and now her throat is starting to hurt. Feel so bad for her.

Time for bed.

Nit all!

Lolly, so sorry to hear that Laurel is relapsing. I was afraid of that.
Prayers continue, for sure. Good luck in the morning!! Have you ever been up in a balloon? That's on my bucket list---missed out a few years ago because of weather!
Goodnight to all. See you in the morning light. Prayers for all.

Hi, Everyone,
Just getting home from school, and not really caught up very well on the blog, but see that Reese and Laurel need prayer, and will continue prayers for Gene. Boy, it's tough to imagine a 3 year old having to have chemo! Woof! Another big Woof for possible complications for Laurel! Lord, HELP!!!!!
Boy, the Pharmacology test we got back from last week was HORRIBLE for everyone in the class!!! I hope that's the one the teacher throws out! Had SO many drug names, both generic and Trade names, that we all had trouble. Hope I did better on tonight's test! It had a bunch of drug names on it, too. Don't know how doctors keep them all sorted out! I bet they have a cheat sheet somewhere! Oh, well, hopefully better next time. Well, will catch up better in the morning on what's happening. I'm brain weary tonight--need some mindless TV to unwind. Prayers for all, and wishes for a good night's sleep!
(Margy, bet your own bed will feel really fantastic--there's NO place like home!) Good night, and will talk to you in the morning. :o]

Okay, Good Night again, bed is warmed up and I am ready for it!
Sounds like misery has company on that last test, Andrea...hang in there...as you have been.

xo ☺ ♥

You know what, Margy, I don't think the teacher will have quite as many drug names on the next test, judging from tonight's lecture. And we only have 2 chapters to study, instead of 3. That should help some!

I'm going to go watch some TV and try to unwind from my caffeine high. Absolutely HAD to drink a big mug of coffee late this afternoon, or never would have made it through class. Now I'm hoping I'll manage to get to sleep! Sweet dreams, Margy! Good Night, everyone!
