Belle was on in the beginning of the blog...06-07, I think, she and Suzanne used to have a running commentary during the summer months when she was off from teaching....she was also getting another degree and had a growing family, and really got to busy to come on here, I am guessing...?
Shirley, about four months ago I lost the site, for no known reason, just like I lost sound. Then I got it back.
I try every which way to get in, and eventually I will figure out there is some control box I need to activate to get it back. Maybe I was just watching it too much!
I went back to Oct 11 2007 to look for posts from Belle on her birthday then...saw some birthday greetings but never saw that she came on. Sure was fun, though, saw posts from Suzanne, Dana, Jim, Mits, Paula, NillaWafer, Jo, Megan, Glo...and many others. Some remain, and some are out there in Eagle Land with us ☺
Family, teaching, and going to school...that's a real busy schedule! I did send her an email from the Birthday Alerts page, maybe she will get some of those...
Mits, I saw ISS this morning, totally unexpected, long transit from SE to NE - wasn't on my schedule...was out looking at Moon, Mars, Venus, Saturn and Mercury.
In the early morning when the Moon rises, (Monday morning) it will be nice and close to Mars, and the Twins, Castor and Pollux...
Mits, same here, some early morning transits, Oct 14 should be a good one!
Shirley, that is most likely the groundhog. Very black tail, not like all of them have. I had thought it was a mutant raccoon, stripeless tail and white mask, but I was just imagining something.
It's really way past time to be seeing some turkeys there...or I guess I might be missing seeing them. Guess they might be hiding from hunters, there is probably some season in up there...archery season starts in WV on the 17th -
Yeah, I expect it was the groundhog. It turned its back on me and all I could see was a lump after the initial glimpse, then I had to update manually and it was gone.
Must go study. Need to connect to printer and print out the articles. I study best with a pencil in my hand. Don't think I should mark up the computer screen!
Belle is a deserter! She used to hang out with us all the time and then she deserted us! :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY BELLE just in case you are still a lurker! Wish you would come back to us!
Sharon It was pretty fun going back to the old blog posts....I saw in there somewhere where your computer was down and everyone was sympathizing... and talk about many things that we STILL talk about. Thanks for the new thread this Sunday morning. Hi there Megan! How's it feel being home on a Sun morning? I need to read earlier comments - just finished emails!
Well, thanks, Mits----I always thought the hoodies were hooded crows and that they were all black.......duh!!! Think this is the first time I've been lucky enough to see these----thjey are very attractive! Wish the close-up view was movable!!!
Yes, Lynn She sounds good, finally got some ice chips overnight, she said it was like Chateaubriand (a find cut of sirloin !) and today the staff will get her up and walking around. No release date set yet of course. Maybe something more by mouth later. She has the Spirometer thing 10 times per hour, and whooshy things on her legs, both common after surgery....and IV antibiotics and maybe for fluid also, And she is in good spirits. I spend most of the day in a chair so I could escape them! They weren't bad and I understood the need, but they got aggravating. Hope your sis is feeling well enough to get aggravated soon!

Okay, nap behind me. Shirley, I love your wish, that my sister feels well enough to get aggravated soon ☺ - she has the patience of Job, and she used to teasingly say: " I come from a long line of sufferers." We used that phrase amongst us in joking from time to time. We also called her "Spitfire" (I think she actually named herself that as a young teen, possibly after a Schwinn bicycle she might have owned at the time ! )
I'm going to make a visit to our one sister's gravesite, Kathy, who died in December 2008. We have been asking for her prayers these last few days, so I think I will go share some good news quiet time with her.
I really, really love you ladies and gents on here. I hope the day is a good one, in whatever each of us is doing today.
Happy Football Watching to those watching, and I hope the Steelers will win for Ed and Dana today, and the Twins later for Deb. I have not placed that second phone call to Dana yet.
Saying hellp from Columbia SC. Time to walk Dex but happy to be online :-). Does anyone know if the Red Sox are in the playoffs tonight. I will check thebLOG when i get bck from walking Dex. Thanks

But we are eating good because of it, homemade blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast, and now dinner is cooking. pork loin, homemade sweet and russet potato chips, broccoi w/cheese, and mushrooms with parmesan cheese.
Okay gotta go bye.. I have been imagining the pork aromas throughout the area today... aaaaahhh....
Just talked to Dana....she sends love, hugs, and is now adding to the prayers she has already been saying...Sissy, Helen's Annie, Ben and all, my sister Dorset, and all the prior ones and ones we don't know about yet...
Dana has a cold or bad allergies...and sounds like it, but is cheerful, also right eye is good now, left eye, giving her problems so she is wearing an eye patch...it's just watering and tearing, nothing too yucky, just uncomfortable. Also Little Man the pooch, is having some neck/back things going on, so I guess everyone there is more or less "in treatment." She had hoped to blog today but the eye irritation is going to prevent it.
She asks about all, I gave her as much update as I could...
She asks for prayers that her cold will hold where it's at and not get any worse.
I have to restart the computer reference updates, and it takes me 30 mins to get things rolling again..
OK Ceil Thanks. I guess I won't entertain myself tonight by watching the Red Sox then :-) Oh Well tomorrow I will arrive at my sons for a 6 day visit. After almost 2 years that is a very very good thing and osmething to be excited about. Enjoy your Columbus Day oh and i htink maybe someoen has a special birthday coming up too. Happy Birthday Birthday Girl I think I am right and she will know IF I am and that I remembered since once I get to Tom Jr house there will be little internet time and this is the first time I have gotten online since i left home 3 days ago. I am a slow traveller LOL But I am retired and have the most important one right here with me :-)
Glo, you and Dex (loved the pic) have a safe journey. I am assuming you are driving and Thank You for remembering. Enjoy your stay and hope you get some warmer weather. ((hugs))
Yippee! Assignments finished and grades recorded. What a relief.
Really happy to know Dana is okay with just cold/allergies. Eagle prayer for quick recovey. Sure do hope her eye improves even quicker. Wonder if she's talked with the doctor?
Also happy that Dorset is recovering. I hate those leg things. Seems every time I would almost fall asleep the stupid things would inflate and I would be back awake again. ICU is not a restful place.
Speaking of Snowman, there are some strange looking black things in/around the trees and on ground behind the trees. What am I missing? I do see the pumpkin costume and birds - cute.
I am NOT going to think about the REDSKINS. Grrrrrr!
Guess what? I don't have to make my pilgrimage to the frig. tonight. Frank is going to get pizza. YES!
I told her due date for little Ben is the 19th, so the prayers for Annie/Ben combo and all the famiy, goes on... so sorry if I confused anyone, I was typing faster because computer was hollering at me.
Pizzelles are done!!!! Dinner is cooking. Sorry Ravens lost, too---misery love company. GLO!! Glad to see you. Isn't SC lovely??? Hope it's warmer there than here. Bet Dex is having fun exploring new environs! Oh, no, Deb---more snow????
Dana is not calling the doctors yet...she thinks things will start to clear soon....does not seem to be infected, but it was as hot as a chili pepper last night.
Nice going, Judie, you still have part of the evening to relax and enjoy life. xo
Congratulations Judie - quite a weekend accomplishment. Question: Are you bringing homework with you next weekend or are you making it easy on yourself and your students by giving them a long term assignment?
Yes, Shirley, we laughed a little, I always remind her when she has laughted, also she says, "Things could be a lot worse...." that's the spirit!
She will not know, until later, about the week-end activities next week, as Jo has already pointed out, or maybe it was Wanda or Lynn...
Okay, it's hard to make a recipe without cinnamon, so I threw together some all spice, nutmeg and cardamom but not sure it is going to do the trick, just a coffee cake for work this week.
Headed over to neighbor lady's to have a look-see at cable hook up. Also going to call Dorset.
And, I have Finland back, and still have sound ☺ I updated Adobe Flash Player...
Snowman cam is cute. I remember the pumpkin custom from last year but not the dracula teeth. Don't think I said HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BELLE. But my CRS is really getting bad.
Three deer out here---a young 4 pt.buck and two young does, ome lame--phate to see that. Right front leg---she's trying to put weight on it, but w/ obvious difficulty. Dinner finished--delicious, but I ate too much. Guess making pizzelles and cheering losing Skins worked up an appetite, big-time! Trash is out. TIme to relax!! Army Wives season finale tonight---cliff-hanger, I'm sure!
Paula, is the dog dish holder a 4-fer??? Hope it's got a healthy polyurethane coat on it! Aren't dogs sloppy drinkers?? Doxie Cinny is MUCH better than the SharPei were, tho', for sure. BTW, realized when listing childhood pets the other day that I missed our little budgie, Smokey!
LOL, Shirley, I meant here! Sure sets quickly now.
Lynn, it's only a 2-fer. Dogs liked it just fine. I like the stainless bowls, just had plastic before. They said just wipe it down to keep it clean, no other special care needed.
I think I ate too much... Hey Margy, thet show on WETA is old, but I watch it every time I see it is on. I love, love, love horshoe crabs. Have some hanging on my walls, that we found dead on the beach. Thanks for the Dana update. Glad you had a fun day, Paula!
LOL....Buddy wasn't sloppy eating HOT DOGS!!! If Cinnamon eats mashed potatoes, she always gets it on her ears! They dry crusty!! Takes a good bit of scrubbing. Raptor Force is an excellent show---Shirley and Judie, if you haven't seen it, watch! You.ll love our eagles even more! It's on DC 26 at 8.
I'm back full of pizza and a big glass of wine. Yummy!
Will try to stay awake for the raptor program.
Too tired for much else to say -- not much has been going on except school work.
NO! I will not be bringing work with me. This is the first time I've been away from home, except for funerals and Frank's family, in nearly 27 years. I plan to enjoy it.
College kid is heading back to school, but I'll see him again in 2 weeks, he and John, with John's FIL and BIL are going to the Eagles/Skins Monday night game in two weeks...then there is parents weekend in November, we are all going up to Rider.
Glad you all plan to watch! Oh, Judie, you most certainly deserve this little trip!!! So glad that we were the lucky folks who made you want to do it!!!
hi ya....Back from game and visit to the girls...Ceil, Ravens lost 17 to 14...just got beat by a better team, like last week, and no hope for a win next week......playing the Vikings.....
When I did the Susan G Komen 60 mile walk with my sister and niece, we were at the finish line after 3 long days of walking. I was standing and thinking how nice it would be to have my sandals on instead of my tennis shoes. One of my niece's friends bent down, untied my shoes and helped me out of them. At the time it was the nicest thing I could imagine from someone I had never met before. I have since gotten to know her and listened to her beautiful voice at my niece's wedding in Jan.
Today Mikala is losing her mother to a brain tumor and time is very short. They are a very strong family, but please think of the Hoopers over the coming weeks as they go through this difficult time.
how sad, Deb, prayers for sure.....always wonder why bad things happen to good people, even read the book of the same name, still do not understand....
it is very sad. Apparently the type of tumor is hereditary, and Maxine is the third sibling to get it. I sure hope it doesn't get passed down to the next generations but i don't think the doctors know the answer to that. I am sure they will watch all of the kids very closely.
About the time we all get our hopes up that the Vikings will make it to the Superbowl, they are usually dashed. I try hard every year not to get caught up, but I can feel the pull already. lol
Yeah, that about covers it, SHaron. Very sorry to hear that news, Deb. So hard to lose someone to a serious illness like that. Just had an employee bail on me for Tuesday...arg...so now my evening is stressed as I figure out how to be in several places at nce. Will make my day very hectic. And it was such a nice relaxing day, too.
Megan That's a crummy last minute switch up for you, I wish I was off Tuesday and could offer to help, but I will fume with you from across the Potomac ! Hope there is a replacement available. Glad you enjoyed your day anyway, sounds like some great cooking at your place.
Hi all Did you all here the forcast for next week end? Hagerstown call's for rain (big time) There is alot going on next week end. The open house and Fall Fest in McConnllsburg, Pa. on Fri. Sat. Sun. and in Chambersburg Sat.
Judie, I asked about those strange things in the background near the trees at the Snowman cam last night. Today, when it was light, I could tell that there are logs and fallen trees back there.
Thanks, Margy. I am the replacement. And I can make it work, but it will complicate my day. And I hate when people agree to something and then bail, I would never do that to someone. And it was not an emergency or anything like that. This is a real job after all, and I am resposible for making it all flow smoothly.
Howdy crucnh. Weather undergound has this forecast for Saturday so far-Saturday Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers. Highs in the mid 50s.
I'm checking out early tonight friends, with I could watch the Twins beat the Yankees.
It has been enjoyable reading the fun things, and sad to read the sad things,it's all part of the package that holds us together. I had a nice good-evening chat with my recovering sister Dorset, thank you all so much again for your helpful prayers.
I bet Mits had fun with the M&M girls and I hope she brings some of that joy on here for us ☺
I got three 12's coming up, so let me just remind you to check out the Moon and Mars in the wee hours of the morning, and Best Wishes for a Good, Hard-Earned Rest tonight. God Bless Us, Every One xo ♥
I have no doubt that the weather forecast will change before Saturday. Too early to tell. And I am hoping that the rain that is forecast for this week will be light or at night, or else my week will get very complicated. Got a lot of field trips scheduled this week. Nite Margy, glad you got to talk to your sis:)
Prayers for the Hooper family. Always so difficult for everyone.
Paula, glad you enjoyed time with the college kid and hope Mits had fun with the M&Ms.
Meagan, sorry about the bail out. Not much remains of what used to be called a conscience.
Thanks, Shirley. Missed that you asked last night. Branches and logs and stuff -- sure looked a lot like creepy critters which would have been way more fun.
Hi Crunch. Would you be so kind as to revise next weekend's weather forecast? Thanks!
Early night for me. Turning off my light but leaving the night light on for others. Andy will probably be here to take care of the security system.
Megan the M&M girls were in a corn maze yesterday....Molly wanted to be carried, and Maggie just took off running....took Dad a wile to catch up, because it was made more for kids then taller adults....
Deb, so sorry to hear that sadness and tragedy. Hopefully they have done some gene testing and can test the next generation. Prayers for the Hoopers for sure.
Well it sounds like they were having fun then, Mits. When I went thru the maze last week with a group, the little kids up front with me were so excited and walking so fast I had to keep slowing thwm down so we wouldn't lose the back half of the group.
Goodnight Margy, Shirley and Mits! Agree that you need to get some sleep, Helen---you very well may have to get up in the middle of the night----we hope!!!
Hi all! We are in the middle of no where at the Ole Towne Cotton Gin RV park. It is our favorite stop on the way home. Five hour drive tomorrow. Laurel will be getting home around 3:15, so we are attempting to get there about the same time. Want her to be home when we arrive with Jaoob. Jacob is in bed now but not settling down. He is obviously excited about going home. lol
I had a very very nice evening with family. Dessert were wonderful -
Deb - prayers for the family - it is so sad - especially when there isn't anything that can be done.
Paula - great! Bring the banner we'll put it to good use all day/evening long.
Hope we get some pics of the M&M gals.
Brain tired... may be heading in shortly. Need to check out the small amount of cams that are up/running. I wish that our cam would come up and STAY UP

Happy Birthday to Belle again:)
Oh sorry, I should have thanked Megan. But I appreciate you anyway, Sharon.
Mits, can you get Finland to open up? I hope YOU can, but I cannot.
So, did you get to sleep through the night? Or could you sleep....?
Please fill me in. Who is Belle?

I am confused. You are not speaking of Belle the eagle?

Halloween attire displayed.
Sorry so many of your teams lost. VIkings won today, but not sure what the final score was. They are 5-0 now.
BB
Deb that is great. Off to finish making dinner. BBL
Winter Weather advisory for tonight. will have to find out more when I get home, it is flurrying now.
Really have to go, bbl
I have to restart the computer reference updates, and it takes me 30 mins to get things rolling again..
so TTFN....and xox ☺ and ♥
OK Ceil Thanks.
YES!
Later,
Judie
Hey Glo....this all sounds wonderful, yes, your wonderful little traveler, hugs and scratches to him...and hugs and kisses to You ♥
Let me clarify my last post regarding Dana:
I told her due date for little Ben is the 19th, so the prayers for Annie/Ben combo and all the famiy, goes on... so sorry if I confused anyone, I was typing faster because computer was hollering at me.
Pizzelles are done!!!!
Dinner is cooking.
Sorry Ravens lost, too---misery love company.
GLO!! Glad to see you. Isn't SC lovely??? Hope it's warmer there than here. Bet Dex is having fun exploring new environs!
Oh, no, Deb---more snow????
Pork Pizza?
Dana is not calling the doctors yet...she thinks things will start to clear soon....does not seem to be infected, but it was as hot as a chili pepper last night.
Nice going, Judie, you still have part of the evening to relax and enjoy life.
xo
Congratulations Judie - quite a weekend accomplishment. Question: Are
you bringing homework with you next weekend or are you making it easy on yourself and your students by giving them a long term assignment?
Maybe that was her mid-term, and she won't have more serious grading to do so soon.
Margy, good that you got to talk to Dana. It is a relief to hear from her.
TTFN xo
Cool show on WETA about horseshoe crabs, red knots (birds) and not sure what else is on. Been in and out of the room.
Evening, all!
Thank goodness BWO is running so we can get an eagle fix! One there now!
Hi Paula, are you colored, and fested ☺
Ms Goose has a pumpkin outfit on and the snowman has dracula teeth at snowmancam.
Wore my feet out at Colorfest but had a great time. Found some great presents!
Wow, about 39° at snowman cam
Howdy Margy!
Sure wish our cam was working.
Colored, fested and full. Had a smoked turkey leg...good but a little salty for me. And had a fruit smoothie, yum.
Big find of the day was a new food bowl stand for the dogs...really nice pretty stained oak with stainless bowls.
Oh no, Snow for Deb!
Skins and Ravens both lost...that sucks.
Megan, Dinner sounds delicious
Deer at snowmancam
Happy Birthday, Belle. We miss you!
Searching at Pix
Snowman cam is cute. I remember the pumpkin custom from last year but not the dracula teeth.
Don't think I said HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BELLE. But my CRS is really getting bad.
Family is arriving.....
BBL
temp dropping quickly here,,,down 7° in the last hour.
Megan, sounds like a yummy breakfast, too!
Jo, I have that banner...
Gotta feed the doggies in their new dishes :)
Wow, where did the sunshine go!?
Sun is still shining in Michigan.
Oh, and my dogs are sloppy drinkers too, but not as bad as some.
We haven't even gone off daylight savings time. Then it will really get dark early.
Oh, and Raptor Force is on Nature tonight at 8pm on PBS, it's the show where they have the camera on the falcon.
I'd be full, too, Megan. Gonna have a bite to eat with the college kid before he goes...bbialw.
Basset hounds are the sloppiest drinkers!
And they usually manage to get their ears in the water.
Yes they sure are!
Awww...I'm telling Buddy, Sharon:)
His little sloppy butt was just behind me drinking water. Now he is standing here whining, guess he needs to go relieve himself now! :)
Food throw!
Don't think I have ever seen a basset drink without leaving a puddle by the water dish.
WETA, Lynn?
Okay, I got it!
If you don't give the basset the hot dog, it will fling drool all over the room!
Later
Good for you Judie! You have certainly earned this little trip! Can't wait to see you!
Oh, Judie, I'm glad you're getting away with us...you'll have fun for sure!
Never say never, Mits. Sometimes the Vikes blow the games they should win.
how sad, Deb, prayers for sure.....always wonder why bad things happen to good people, even read the book of the same name, still do not understand....
well Deb, the Ravens cannot beat Bret Favre, even if they blindfolded him....don't think the few times they have played against him that they won.
it is very sad. Apparently the type of tumor is hereditary, and Maxine is the third sibling to get it. I sure hope it doesn't get passed down to the next generations but i don't think the doctors know the answer to that. I am sure they will watch all of the kids very closely.
CANCER SUCKS!
Coons at pix
About the time we all get our hopes up that the Vikings will make it to the Superbowl, they are usually dashed. I try hard every year not to get caught up, but I can feel the pull already. lol
That says it all, Sharon!
Prayers for Maxine, Deb.
Deb So sad...I'm sorry for the family, and for you to have this sadness about your little friend. There are really no words...
Megan
That's a crummy last minute switch up for you, I wish I was off Tuesday and could offer to help, but I will fume with you from across the Potomac ! Hope there is a replacement available. Glad you enjoyed your day anyway, sounds like some great cooking at your place.
Hi all
Did you all here the forcast for next week end? Hagerstown call's for rain (big time) There is alot going on next week end. The open house and Fall Fest in McConnllsburg, Pa. on Fri. Sat. Sun. and in Chambersburg Sat.
Judie, I asked about those strange things in the background near the trees at the Snowman cam last night. Today, when it was light, I could tell that there are logs and fallen trees back there.
Hi, Crunch!
Weather undergound has this forecast for Saturday so far-Saturday
Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers. Highs in the mid 50s.
I heard rain for Thursday and Friday...
Sorry about your friend, Deb. So sad.
God Bless Us, Every One
xo ♥
Well that's a week away Will see
Well, don't GET UP to watch Moonie and Mars, but if you happen to be up before sunrise, well, then look.
The coffee cake turned all right, even without the cinnamon.
☺
I have no doubt that the weather forecast will change before Saturday. Too early to tell. And I am hoping that the rain that is forecast for this week will be light or at night, or else my week will get very complicated. Got a lot of field trips scheduled this week.
Nite Margy, glad you got to talk to your sis:)
raccoon party at Pix
good view of Sheila and her chicks down under...
Thanks for the heads up on Sheila, Mits. I forgot to watch that at the right time!
Great day to go to a game!
weather was great....we had a good time in spite of the loss, always good to see the people we sit around...:)
G'nite and pleasant dreams for all.
Judie
Eating time down under...
feeding time at Australia
Food toss about to happen????
Megan the M&M girls were in a corn maze yesterday....Molly wanted to be carried, and Maggie just took off running....took Dad a wile to catch up, because it was made more for kids then taller adults....
Something spooked the raccoons.
Deb, so sorry to hear that sadness and tragedy. Hopefully they have done some gene testing and can test the next generation. Prayers for the Hoopers for sure.
Megan, didn't know you had anyone working for you. Bummer.
Well it sounds like they were having fun then, Mits. When I went thru the maze last week with a group, the little kids up front with me were so excited and walking so fast I had to keep slowing thwm down so we wouldn't lose the back half of the group.
Yeah, Judie, it would have been more exciting if there had been wolves or something like that hanging around on the edge of the forest!
they had a great time....:)
Oh yeah, Lynn, have a crew of 4. I am in charge of keeping everything running on time, and sometimes have to run an activity also.
I love the excitement the kiddies have when they are on the trip, most love the hayride the best.
Finished typing the quiz for my first block. It is killing some of them. Doesn't seem too hard to me!
Megan, do you get a lot of kindergarten and preschool groups?
oh Molly did not like the hayride....did not like the tractor sound....but Maggie was fine...
Sheila flew the coop...3 chicks alone
Going to have to call it a night. See you all tomorrow!
well going to head to bed.....just in case, I need a few hours sleep....good night everyone...prayers for everyone's needs.
OOps, sorry Shirley, missed ya. We get prek, kindergarten and 1st and even some 2nd graders.
Nite Shirley and Mits.
He is obviously excited about going home. lol
We have thoroughly spoiled him and now it is time to return him to his parents. lol They might want to give him back to us!
I wish that our cam would come up and STAY UP
I guess everyone is gone for the night. Sooooooo
Good night everyone!
Sweet dreams!
ALMOST HOME Yeah Lolly!
