Lynn, Did Jim refer to Pres G.Ford or Ford Co. making it mandatory for shots back in the 70's? I got confused!

1st Reminder

CLOCKS BACK TONIGHT

Jim - maybe this will make it look better when you say Good Morning! lol

hedgie said...

Sun is back---and wind is howling! "Howl" fitting for Halloween!

Lynn, I only have one computer so I don't know how it happened. I doubt it was luck, cuz without bad luck, I wouldn't have any. ;o)

Just got an email from daughter in VA. Her husband an Army percussion instructor, was just asked to play backup for Natalie Cole when she's in concert in the area. What an honor for him.

Didn't let me vote more than once..
I just had to try! lol

hedgie said...

This time tomorrow night it will be almost dark.....BOO!

hedgie said...

Gee, Jo, don't know for sure....but I was working at hospital then and there was no mandatory vaccine. Know that GM gave it, tho', as I saw all the paperwork when I went there in '78.

Mema Jo said...

Well, maybe Jim will reappear and straighten us out!

My porch light is on
Drizzling rain
Not sure what to expect this evening
Maybe just the older kids.... But the
little ones with their parents are always dressed the cutest!... MTBR

hedgie said...

Just to show how "in-sync" we all are---every one of you who has sent me a thank you card for my Blue Mountain greeting selected the same one!! Howl about that?? Thanks for thanks!

movin said...

Hey, I just saw Diego trying to walk in the bamboo of the den!! He's better at it than I thought he could be.

I was beginning to think he would be way behind, since he doesn't constantly exercise his legs etc.

Thanks for the warning about the Standard Time, Mema Jo.

1976 S. Flu shots:
Not mandatory, but they thought it was going to be a very serious epidemic; so Pres. Ford ordered enough vaccine be made available to cover essentially all Americans.

The epidemic never developed, but was that because it never was, or because of the millions of people getting the vaccination....

I remember getting the flu shot for the first time in civilian life that year, and being surprised it did not affect me seriously... been getting them nearly every year since, and I haven't had a serious case of the flu in all those years.

When I was in the Corps., I was given three flu shots, and all three times I got a very serious head and respiratory infection, which made it very difficult to breath or do anything related, for three days each case. So, once out, I avoided those shots like the plague... until '76, when it appeared it would be a lot more serious than what I just described.

I learned years later that the military vaccine was made with weakened, but live virus; while civilian vaccine uses dead virus. That's why I never get sick from the civilian stuff.

Lynn it is automatice that, that particular card is sent....the thanks I got back to my card were all the same, you just click a button and they send the card that they have...

hedgie said...

Betcha that Fu Sheng WILL win the contest!

Mits said...

no way that name will not win.....:)I voted twice also, but even though it said thank you twice, does not me that it was counted twice.

Mits said...

going to grill hot dogs, have a salad, and homemade potato salad for dinner....I wanted to go out, but hubby wanted to give out the candy.....he bought 6 bags, we propably will not get 6 people, it is starting to drizzle..

I still have never been able to get my comment published after I get the conflict of edits. Sooooooo as I was saying

Coincidentally, Mits, hubby and I just finished eating our grilled hot dogs!

One hour into Trick/Treat and a total of 3 families with little ones have rung the doorbell. They were all adorable.

Just saw Aaron on FB as a vampire..
Val was to have been Freddie BUT she
just got bitten by the vampire.. lol

Mema Jo said...

I guess our Regal Couple is out getting treats. I don't know who turned on their night light!

PA Nana said...

Hey Jim, Semper Fi. Two of our kids were in the corps.

I worked for Dept. of the Air Force (OSI) out of high school and we were required to get those flu shots. I got sick after them so when I left there I didn't get another for years. I have been getting them for the last 5 years or so and have had no problem.

My whole family got the swine flu vaccine in the 70s when clinics opened up to distribute them - no charge. I'm hoping my immune system will fight this swine flu because my doc's office will not be getting this vaccine. He even said I probably don't need to get it, even in my 60s with some underlying health problems. I hope he's right!

Hubby's on his way home, gotta get his supper.

...later

Mits said...

yummm the hot dogs were good....I almost feel like putting the a/c on, still 72°

Mits said...

hubby just asked one of the trick or treaters what she was, and she said a nerd, he said, did you have to dress up for that??? told him when we get egged and TP'd it was his job to clean up...is this what I have to look forward to when he retires...

Nest Update

10/31/09:
In addition to our recent bluebirds, we also had a Northern flicker visit the platform.

The flicker is a colorful woodpecker; you can read more about them on the All About Birds website

stronghunter said...

Plenty of trick-or-treaters here--
Sadaam Hussein, a little girl with clevage, adults in costume. Hope I don't have to resort to giving out pencils.

hedgie said...

Nice avatar, Megan!

Cute movie on Hallmark---w/ Catherine Bell, who is one of my fav present-day actresses.

hedgie said...

Saddam, huh, Shirley??? Before or after he lived in the rathole?? Who in the world would want to be him? He might get shot if he goes to the wrong house!

stronghunter said...

Kathryn. Tom, and Hunter came for a little while. Hunter's not feeling well. He missed two days of school this past week. He did not want to go trick or treating. Some years, we have resorted to recycling some of his candy. Won't be able to do that this year!

Mema Jo said...

Deer at snowman cam just took off from feeders - maybe bear is coming.
Woody has his cape on tonight!

I'm going to try to NOT go there this evening. lol

NatureNut said...

TRICK OR TREAT!!
Nobody's been here yet! Opened bag of raisin boxes & Tootsie Pops to give out~~~half healthy! We might ewat the raisins!

stronghunter said...

Pre-rathole Sadaam, Lynn. He was disappointed that I did not say anything, so he asked me, "Who am I?" I said, "Who are you?" I was paying more attention to the little ones.

Some teen-age boys just want to be shocking.

When the trick-or-treaters are taller than I am and have piercings on their faces, I get worried. I stared at them and took a step back. They laughed. It is just as well that I don't live near my students. I would have a mob of teenagers for sure. One boy at school kept inviting me to his party. He'd be shocked if I showed up.

Mits said...

yep bear is there.

stronghunter said...

Maybe I should have given the pierced one and his girlfriend pencils.

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Got home very late from school last night, and got up early and hit the road running this morning.

Disgusted with Anatomy teacher--said a week ago there wouldn't be ANY more homework handouts, and he handed out more last night. I've been working all day, and have the first of three done now. Woof!!! There goes the weekend!!

No trick-or-treaters here yet; still light outside. We must go and take care of Sister-in-law & BIL's bulldogs (they're going away for the weekend), so will not be handing out candy at either place.
Didn't have anyone at home last year, anyway.

Voted for the Diego name for the little roly poly one!

Hope you all are having a good evening! Will BBL after we're home from taking care of the dogs.
:o]

Mema Jo said...

Well the bear is here

I guess that IS why the deer took off

stronghunter said...

I see the bear. One day, I was watching the Snowman cam when a bear walked out of one picture and into the other one. I guess the first one refreshed at just the right moment.

NatureNut said...

Looks like small bear at Snowman cam ☺

hedgie said...

Fleeting glimpse of a cool EAGLE mask in this movie!!
Wonder if Margy is out Tricking and Treating with James???

stronghunter said...

CNN doing report on DC snipers.

magpie said...

That's a pretty good sized bear at Snowman.
Hi Everyone.
Nope, not out with James...got off work at 6 and it started at 6 in Berkeley Springs, he is out with family up there.

magpie said...

West King Street, Lynn, was packed....city police put out a lighted sign that said "Caution Trick or Treaters..."
I went very slowly...
xo
Helen, I love all three of those candy bars you mentioned.
Upstairs neighbor brought his candy down in case anyone showed up. No one did, so I guess I get to have it ☺

hedgie said...

Nope...she's home, tucked in cozy!

magpie said...

bear was just up on his hind legs taking something off the clothesline

Lolly said...

Hi all! We are up at Laurel's. Jack and Joey have taken the boys trick or treating. I am maintaining the door but have had only one group so far.

Must say today was disappointing. Commisioners were there, but the coach was not. He coaches another team as well and he was with them. He gave his badge to one of those fathers who has taken over.
Commioners were there but I do not think they did anything. They talked with the sub coach. Anyway the whole game was coached in spanish. Poor Joseph. He does not know spanish. He will NOT be on the same team next year.

magpie said...

How nice there was an Eagle in the nest this morning and some of the Momsters got to see it!

stronghunter said...

Really sounds like the coach has no backbone, Lolly. He should have been there.

magpie said...

That's a pretty disappointing report, Lolly....hope things will be better next year. Wish he could have been on my brother't team - he was a fantastic soccer coach for years, in Frostburg MD.
Younger kids at first, then older ones as his kids grew.

magpie said...

Two kinds of mounds bars, snickers, and m&m peanuts...oh boy yum !

magpie said...

bear left and came back

stronghunter said...

Was the coach's child there?

magpie said...

Megan I will share mine with you too...☺

magpie said...

if I don't eat it all first....

hedgie said...

Oh, Lolly, that sounds just plain chicken on the part of the coach, and wrong that the commissioner didn't do anything. Think if I was Joey, I would try to explain it as simply as possible and pull Joseph out the rest of this year. Get him involved in something else if need be.There is deifnitely something rotten in Denmark, as they say, and I can see it getting worse.

magpie said...

Call this morning, man had truck stolen in the city. Not long after, I took call, man and his daughter out for Youth Hunt day in orchards west of town, saw three young men running away from a truck, man and daughter came back out of their hunting area, to find the truck that had been reported stolen in the city, had been burned to a frazzle. I asked him if he and his daughter saw anything on the hunt, he said no the three guys had chased everything out. Culprits not caught, owner of truck very disappointed....
Crummy....

magpie said...

crime sucks

stronghunter said...

Calmed down here. Time to turn out porch light.

magpie said...

It's nice to think that it is really only 7:19 pm here sort of...
and with the return to Eastern Standard Time, Bird Girl will be only two hours behind us instead of three now, since Mountain Time Zone does not "do" Daylight Savings time....she has been three hours behind since the Spring.

Oh, and I look forward to all the new calendar pages ! ☺
Got a bunch of clocks to move backwards too ☺ ☺ I ain't staying up until 0200 to do that either !

stronghunter said...

Bear at Snowman is really taking it easy.

stronghunter said...

Some of mine automatically change, so I might just wait until morning to do the others.

magpie said...

Time changes are interesting for emergency calls...tonight, responders during the time change will get to calls and finish with them BEFORE they get dispatched in some cases. In the Spring, conversely, it takes responders 65 minutes to go a few miles...

hedgie said...

Margy, didn't know you had gotten a neighbor above you! Hope he's a quiet one, or that he works dayshift so that you can sleep when you're working nights!

magpie said...

cool how computers and cell phones keep up with all that.

At millennium time in 2000 everyone was all fritzed out about what was going to happen....virtually, nothing did as far as I can remember, but we were on High Alert at the 9-1-1 Center back then....had extra people scheduled to work just in case.

Mema Jo said...

Front light is out. Lots of candies still in the bowl but then I told Hubby to buy the kind he likes & he did

Bear seems restless - You think he would eat those pumpkins if he were starving......

Taking a break! BBILW

magpie said...

So, maybe I will get a shot at seeing an early bird Sunday....the Eagles don't care about the time change !

magpie said...

Almond Joy, nice..... M&M peanuts next...

hedgie said...

Hey, girl, you'll get an extra hour of sleep tonight!
Heard the calls on the truck fire! They had you corn-fused for a minute, didn't they??

magpie said...

I would like to have some Barricini candy, anyone remember that ? Back in the old days in DC on F Street....

magpie said...

None of mine change automatically Shirley except computer and cell phone...
Lynn, upstairs neighbor but over one...the apartment above me has been unoccupied since last November! Can't figure out why but I Love It !

Hi Jo, Hi Mr. Jo..Ed that is...
sounds like you enjoyed the evening.

☺ ♥

stronghunter said...

The ones on my television boxes change. I have one at school that changes too.

NatureNut said...

Diego is trying to sleep next to Mom's leg, but she is busy sitting up & fooling w/bamboo branches!! So funny.
Still no trick or treaters.
Drizzling, sort of, but I swear it's warmer now----68!

Did they put treats out for bear at S'man cam??

magpie said...

First two sets of upstairs neighbors were great, single guy, then single girl. Then a couple with one child, pretty noisy, and the last ones, a young couple who were quiet at first then obviously began having getting along problems, at times it sounded like a herd of elephants up there...I guess they were chasing each other around, it was NOT FRIENDLY, but in their own way they were okay and I really felt sorry for them.

hedgie said...

Catherine Bells' character in this movie named her little shop Bell, Book and Candle---anyone remember that movie with Kim Novak and Jimmy Stewart? What a great movie---first time I saw it was the summer we spent w/ relatives in a small Iowa town; the Catholic Church showed an outdoor movie one night a week and that was the one of them---I loved it!

magpie said...

So, what kind of candy does Ed like, Jo ???

Hi Loretta !

hedgie said...

Oh, my, Margy, I do remember Barricini downtown!

stronghunter said...

Will is getting ready to go to his party. He is getting pretty dressed up and running up and down the stairs. I am waiting to see if he applies the cologne. Interesting . . .

magpie said...

Never seen it Lynn, but heard of it, will see it one day.

I think I am going to spend part of my extra hour in a nice hot bath, here right about now !

TTFN xo Hope all are well in All the Eagle Corners...
xo

magpie said...

And what is Will's costume, Shirley?

hedgie said...

Speaking of domestic strife....meant to tell Deb about the call you all had earlier this week, Margy, from a Verizon IT person who overheard a bad dispute in the background....she can relate to that kind of caller.

magpie said...

You'll like this then Hedgie:
When my older brothers and sisters were in boarding school and college in the Washington Area, my parents and the "three little kids" would go to Washington often on Friday nights, stay at the Willard! And then parents would treat siblings' friends and us to places like O'Donnells, the Occidental, the Willard Coffee House, the Washingtonian, Watergate...and we would go shopping at Garfinckel's, Woodward and Lothrup, Lord & Taylor's and Best's. Uh, yes, my Dad went through a lot of money in those days and eventually it sort of came to a crashing halt. But we sure had some memorable experiences!

stronghunter said...

He is going as a zombie. Khaki slacks and a white shirt. I saw the slacks and shirt and thought he was just dressing up nicely. Nope.

NatureNut said...

Gonna go check baseball---think NY is ahead.

Yes, I remember Baraccini's!

I'll take choc. covered cherry cordials any time, any brand or plain dark chocolate (good for you!!!)Or Reeses wh9ich I( used tto always buy for Halloween & save til last~~~~leftovers! Yum. Don't eat hardly any of that anymore---cholesterol in everything ;>(

stronghunter said...

I figure the bear at Snowman is fattening up for winter. Still there, not lying down anymore.

Mits said...

make sure Will figures out what is wrong with your TV before he goes out, Shirley

magpie said...

I was hoping to find a few Barracini's fans here...

or Baraccini, I can't remember how to spell it now, just enjoyed the dark chocolate covered nut things!
As I recall, the nuts sort of rested on the chocolate base !
and Reese's - absolutely!

Blogger cop is busy tonight with us chatterers ☺

stronghunter said...

Okay, Will is running upanddownupanddown. He is putting liquid latex on his face upstairs and drying it with a fan in the basement. Why he is doing this way, I do not know. I thought I had raised smart children.

Mits said...

likes to do things the hard way, eh, Shirley

magpie said...

Sure hope he does not have a latex allergy !
Hope you get pictures, Shirley !

ceil said...

We had hot dogs for supper also. Chili on them and baked beans on the side.
Not as many treat or treaters this year but great costumes and very polite children. Best year. I have a large soft bag that looks like a cat when you push the handle it makes a cat sound. Kids want to know where the cat is and the girl down the street wanted to know if her cat was up by my house. One little girl was pulling on the bag her mother said what are you doing she said looking for the cat.

magpie said...

Lynn -
did you hear the crazy call out at Swinging Bridge today ???? Young man flipped out and broke into a house, then locked the owner out!
Paramedics transported him after police subdued him...father of person will pay for damages to the house - broken window....
Also at another house very close by, a few days ago, man's vehicle windshield got smashed. This DOES NOT make me happy...that is my serenity bird-watching place!

Mits said...

hubby thinks we have had about 40 trick and treaters...will keep light on to around 9:30p.m.

magpie said...

bear is up and browsing at Snowman

ceil said...

I remember Baricini's chocolate covered cherries.
Margy we took our mom to O'Donnell's for her 70th birthday.

NatureNut said...

Boo---Fubby gave me the wrong score B'ball is rained out! Football isn't

hedgie said...

Margy, did you ever eat at the famous seafood place down on Maine Ave....the name is completely eluding me...think it just closed a few years ago....duh! Have it on the tip of my tongue, but can't spit it out!
Remember many shopping trips with my grandma where we would have lunch in Woodies' tearoom....anyone remember it??

magpie said...

It was a great restaurant, Ceil..back in those days my fare was two orders of buttered toast and two orders of applesauce, loved the "sea" out those windows, and there was a great treasure chest with toy trinkets for kids, and also cool games on paper for kids. Is the restaurant still open ?

ceil said...

Loretta I knew there was a rain delay but thought I had missed something. Phew. Not yet.

magpie said...

Did you say TONGUE Hedgie ???
I do not remember the tea room...

stronghunter said...

Wow, Mits, I turned the light out awhile ago. Rule in Ohio was lights out at 8:00 PM. I kept mine on until about 8:20 tonight.

magpie said...

The Market Inn??? maybe? never went to the waterfront as a kid, but did later on. There was the BEST She-Crab soup there !

ceil said...

Margy it is closed. Such a shame.

hedgie said...

Shoot...Mom can't remember, either.

ceil said...

I think I am going to call it a night. Pleasant dreams.

magpie said...

Yes..I agree. How about Old Ebbitt's Grill...anyone ? When I worked in DC 1977 - 1981 - I would walk to the Willard when it was in shambles and a residence for pigeons and could not conceive how that had happened....the riots in 1968 took care of that I guess...
have never seen it since it was renovated.

ceil said...

Sorry I am back. Margy MM goes to Old Ebbits Grill with friends. They love it.

magpie said...

Well, I didn't mean to eat up so much blog space with my reminiscing...I guess all the candy talk got me started!
Time for that bath now...
Hey - I don't know who is for what team, but isn't Mariano Rivera one Awesome pitcher? Watch sometime how he shakes that one leg just a little before throwing a pitch.
He is my all time favorite pitcher.
TTFN - bubbles time xo

hedgie said...

Mom just called...Hogate's!!!!

stronghunter said...

All of your talk made me think about Hausner's in Baltimore. I think it is closed now, too.

magpie said...

Way cool, Ceil, glad you pulled a Ceil! got a nice card from Mary Margy today! Beautiful black cat and a pumpkin....xox ♥

Judie said...

Good evening, everyone.

Well, drizzle here with 6 little ones tonight. Think I am going to suggest a community party at the elementary school for the future. Ridiculous to keep spending money on candy when children are not out -- except for the adult-sized teens that arrive around 11:00pm. So tired of this after 28 years

Turning my light off. The night light is on for others.

Sleep well.
Judie

stronghunter said...

Hogate's--I do remember it.

Mits said...

O'Donnell's closed in Bethesda, but it is open up in Gaithersburg....we don't have any turn out your light laws here...it is up to us, when we turn it out...

Mits said...

off to get into PJ's....good night everyone..prayers for all

magpie said...

I remember that name, Lynn...but never went there I don't think will check with older siblings.
Only place I remember going to in Baltimore was Miller's...

Okay - really - ttfn will check back.

Good Night Ceil...love what you said you do with extra candy, the women's shelter ♥

hedgie said...

I remember Ebbit's, too! And speaking of renovations, Margy, go online and look at the unbelievable work at The Occidental Hotel--before and after pics!!! Beautiful!

stronghunter said...

Wasn't a law, but guidelines for the trick or treaters. You keep later hours than Ohio folks.

magpie said...

Ha Ha I was in my PJ's all day , Helen. Good Night.
Good Night Judie... hope there is something nice in your evening still....

Mits said...

oh yeah really remember Hausners, been closed for a long time...Ceil and MM would remember it...we took MM there for her graduation dinner.

ceil said...

Love Hogate's I think Rum Buns
Hausner's is closed.

hedgie said...

Yeah, Margy, I was thinking today that Swinging Bridge Rd. is having TOO many calls lately, for sure.

hedgie said...

Goodnight to the sleepyheads! Enjoy your extra hour...it only lasts one night!!
Shirley, Will should have just used a hair dryer!!!

Mits said...

looks like B-game is getting ready to get underway

ceil said...

One more thing. Helen mentioned taking MM there for her high school graduation. Long line Mr. Hausner came out and took us in. We wore long white gowns for our high school graduation and carried a dozen red roses. They still do.
NIGHT ALL FOR SURE. Thanks for the memories.

Mits said...

I remember the weird looks we got that night, Ceil:)Wanting to know why we went to the front of the line and sat right down....

stronghunter said...

He tried the hair dryer. He said that my hair dryer does not blow cool air, and that is what he needs. I looked at his face to see if there were signs of allergy, but he has all kinds of red paint and other colors on his face.

You have to know that my children were very involved in drama when they were in school. Some of that stuff is still with them--Susan, Will, and Rus all did drama classes big time. In other years, I've had Susan running around here putting on scary makeup until Hunter got upset seeing her made up like that.

stronghunter said...

What school, Ceil? (You might have said and I read over it.)

hedgie said...

I have a story to tell, if you don't mind. Was just reminiscing...today is my ex-MIL's 95th b-day. Until she got her birth certificate for Social Security she always thought it was the 26th. 35 yrs. ago for #60 I planned a big surprise birthday party for her...even talked the 4 sons into chipping in to get her a mothers' ring. I had just gotten out of the hospital that morning after a miscarriage, but my mom was here so we went ahead with the party. MIL was absolutely livid because she "don't like surprises" and was horrid to all of us. Needless to say, I was emotionally fragile already and that just sent me over the edge. Never, ever again tried to do anything special for her!

stronghunter said...

George walked across my keyboard and turned off the computer. I had to log in again.

stronghunter said...

Oh, Lynn, how awful. But now you can celebrate your freedom from all of that.

stronghunter said...

It took me awhile, although not too long to realize that my divorce set me free, though my issue wasn't with the ex-mil.

hedgie said...

Definitely, Ceil! They were a VERY unemotional family---just plain country folk without the warmth you normally find in that kind of lifestyle.

stronghunter said...

Will's picture is posted on my blog. If you enlarge it, you can see the red-eye effect. Wouldn't want to fix it this time.

stronghunter said...

stronghunter said...

Rained off and on here, too.

floralgirl said...

Very funny, Paula!

hedgie said...

Oh, Shirley, Will looks appropriately gross!! Hope the shirt is an old one!
Paula, baby is priceless! Congrats on win. Too bad he's not old enough to understand and appreciate the irony!!

stronghunter said...

Will is in charge of his own shirts. I hope he can get it clean. My children started doing their own laundry many years ago.

paula eagleholic said...

My DIL, Ajay, came up with the idea! I thought it was great!

We only trick or treat for an hour here...6-7...

We used to trick or trick for hours when I was little, if the light was on, then they were still giving out candy.

Ajay said Brensin loved trick or treat. Had his hand in the bucket all night! I said YAY, that's what it's all about....CANDY!!

stronghunter said...

I had to laugh at one little guy who came to my house tonight. I had the bowl of candies, and he stuck his hand in and grabbed two candy bars before I could hand the candy out. He was pretty little. He was the only one who got two candy bars. I was afraid I would run out, but wasn't about to take candy away from a little kid.

paula eagleholic said...

I missed trick or treat this year...last time that happened, my dog was having puppies...which reminds me...Happy Birthday to my dog Boo!!

paula eagleholic said...

Guess I should go give him a treat!

hedgie said...

Yes, do, Paula. At least you remembered. I was a bad mommy and forgot Cinnamon's on Sept. 1st!

So glad it is all over. We enjoyed the customers and chatting with old friends, but it really took the sap out of both me and Gene.
Might go on a little trip in a week or so, to unwind.

I am going to go to bed early tonight...think I will sleep like a baby:)

The retreat for Sharon, Sissy and Thelma should be really great - Not one word from them today anywhere that I could find.... Now that is a good retreat!

Boo and his brothers/sisters were adorable little pups! I think in the photo I can see the food tray you got up at Colorfest. Looks good.

He still sleeps like that...on my bed!

I missed trick or treat tonight, but John, Ajay and kids are coming to Mom's tomorrow. Ajay wants to see what John has been doing all these months :) We are going to have some chinese food for lunch or dinner...depends upon when they get there.

Those puppies were a lot of work...but boy were they fun!

paula eagleholic said...

LOL Jo, that was the old one...gosh I've had it for over 7 years...about time I got a new one...love the new one...oak...and the dogs can't move it around!

WOW! Yankees are coming alive this 5th inning!

Oh the Bird Clocks are the most tricky ones to set back....this time I just pulled the battery out for an hour. But it's fun to advance and go through all the birds, but don't dare go backwards or your birds will get very confused ☺

paula eagleholic said...

Just saw the replay of the double they overturned...ball hit camera sticking over the railing...good call on replay

paula eagleholic said...

Ha Ha, I hear ya Margy...will deal with all that stuff later...only going to reset alarm clock and TV...phone will do itself.

magpie said...

Paula
Sounds like a really fun day ahead for you !

oh, besides all the talk about fancy restaurants one of my favorites places to go in years past has been the Red Bird in Keedysville...especially back when they had cheese cake and Strawberry Pie

magpie said...

If Rivera pitches Jo watch for that leg action...almost like the way a horse pats the dirt with its hooves...it's quick

Mema Jo said...

They still have cheese cake and delicious strawberry pie... Also Boston creme cake......

paula eagleholic said...

Finally got to vote for Diego...

Thank you for taking part in the naming of our newest panda cub.

There have been 4284 votes so far

paula eagleholic said...

I love their strawberry pie!

paula eagleholic said...

OK, gotta wrap it up and hit the hay...gotta put my feets up!

Catch ya'll tomorrow night. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Hugs to all ♥

I just take the battery out too for Fall Back! TOo hard to try to cycle through those sounds, for sure! I have the bird one, and a multi-critter one that has an eagle. Luckily, Westminister Chimes don't mess up, nor does my Beatles-song clock! VCR's would change themselves IF gov't hadn't changed the dates, so have to do them manually.
Pups were So cute, Paula---what a litter!

magpie said...

I DIDN'T KNOW THAT JO! THOUGHT THEY HAD DROPPED THAT FROM THE MENU, LAST TIME I WENT A DOZEN YEARS AGO !!!

Good Night Paula (( Hugs )) to you too ♥

Mema Jo said...

Margie let us know your next day off and us locals can get together for lunch. Maybe even the Baltimorians and Bethesdaians will come up!

Which reminds me Lynn - last Saturday when daylight time was previously scheduled to kick in the bedroom clock on my side was 8:00 and the one on hubby's side was 9:00..... I did wake up very confused! One clock did and one clock didn't!

hedgie said...

Margy, please go to bed!! You are making me extra tired!! If you want to be the one to stay well, you need plenty of rest!
Glad Wanda and Gene are done for the season...and hope they can get away for a nice little trip! Shall we stow away with them??
Night-night to one and all. Talk with you tomorrow!! Prayers, as always.

P.S. Getting close to ANOTHER split!!

Mema Jo said...

I guess we really are... Guess I'll stick around until we do.

Margy don't you work tomorrow at 6am?

Mema Jo said...

Yankees' Swisher got another homerun.....

magpie said...

Well yes, but I look at it this way, it is only "10:26."

It's my last day of four in a row and I am energized about my goals for Sunday so I think it'll be okay ☺
