thanks for the Mason update, Deb, really is hard times for those people.....lots of work

deb said...

It is too bad they can't have some professional help, especially during the night, so they can be rested for the day.

Going over to previous thread .

Hi Deb! Missed seeing you! Once again I'll tell you that I am really happy about Gabby being an Ed Bird.
I doubt he knows just how lucky he is to have you and Janie and her troupe.

stronghunter said...

Jo, we had 2 visits of our eagles this morning.

Mema Jo said...

WOW! They sure are being busy at the nest. I am assuming you got to see both visits! That should more than make your day!

deb said...

I am glad, too, Jo. We were all pretty down this week thinking the worst.

Mema Jo said...

Mits - I'm sure there is GREAT WEATHER for the beach! Doesn't look overly crowded yet on the boardwalk. Bridge traffic, I think, according to the news wasn't backed up. The OC MD Webcams has a new home page - it works well.

stronghunter said...

Have to go take a shower and head out to the farmer's market. Need tomatoes. BBL.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Beautiful day hee, presently only 74, but know it is headed up. Wish it would stay right where it is.

Working today to prepare tomorrows dinner with Laurel and family here. Have not heard from Michael and family. I am sure they are enjoying their trip to San Diego.

Wanda, anxious to see your short video. What a way to start the day, to see Belle and Lib through clear lens!!

Mits said...

Jo, hubby had no problems coming down yesterday....hoping for a quiet Labor day here:)

Good morning, everyone.

Thank you for the Sunshiny Saturday thread, Steve.

I hope no one came in last night and stumbled around in the dark. I fell asleep and forgot to leave the night light on.

Happy Gabby is going into education -- great career!

Continued prayers for Mason and his family. Sure seems there would be some means to obtain some respite time for family. Has the family checked with Social Services or talked with hospital people?

Grate pictures, Shirley. Thank you.

Bridge traffic: accident, backed way up about 9am

I too am off for some shopping time. Enjoy the afternoon.

Took shower. Am about to go out to lunch with Kathryn and Hunter. We will swing by the farmer's marked.

Okay, Norma. It took a minute for me to decipher what you are excited about this time. Mountaineers? Maybe they should let you play, or at least be a cheerleader.

normabyrd said...

Ms Bookworm said...

Good Morning, Everyone!
Running around like a headless chicken this a.m., trying to pay bills online, get packed, and water patio plants & refill bird feeders. Hubby made reservations at the Ayres Hotel for Sat. & Sun. for us--Yay, A/C!!!!!!!!!! Right now it's 75 and climbing at 9:45 am. Humid as a sauna, too.
Got SOOOO much homework to do, some of it online, so will have my laptop & can contact you guys later tonight. Gotta run; Hubby's running errands & will be back soon--gotta go water plants! Have a fantastic, hopefully cool, Holiday weekend! Talk to you later tonight. Prayers for everyone being said! :o]

Ms Bookworm said...

P.S.--Additional prayers for my daughter & SIL will be much appreciated. Thanks, everyone! The prayers are powerful, and they're really helping!!! Bless all of you!
Really love you guys~! :o]

Deb glad to hear about Gabby doing well.
Nu you can do my windows anytime. Lens is so clear. Thank you.
Have not caught up yet. BBL

Just having a lazy afternoon.
Great start for the Mountaineers' season! Hope they keep it going!

Getting ready to go to Mass and I'll
touch base when I return.

hedgie said...

I'm back....empty-handed....boo! The champagne tastes were there present today....prices were too steep for my wallet! Oh well, I tried!
Norma, dear lady, you aren't going to convert me to WVU!! College ball doesn't really interest me too much...I root for VA and MD teams, but I don't normally watch any of it! Now basketball is another story---Georgetown HOYA's!!
Dana, suspect that maybe Norma meant WJLA---which is Ch. 7----think it was on there, if I'm not mistaken.

Judie said...

Congratulations to the WVA team!

Norma, thanks for keeping track of us -- otherwise we might not know where we are or what we are doing.

Shirley, know you enjoyed the afternoon with Kathryn and Hunter. Did you find some good stuff at the market?

Lynn, how was the auction? Get the froggy you wanted? How about something for Margy?

Sharon, hope you had a restful nap.

Ceil, glad you enjoyed the time at Assateague.

Andy, enjoy the a.c. and try to get some rest. Continued prayers for you and family.

Hi Jo and Ed.

After another failed shopping trip, I may have to break down and pay an outrageous price for a blouse - Grrrrr!

Keeping my routine, off to gaze into the frig. Maybe chicken tenders, oven roasted Yukon Gold, and cucumber salad.

Later,
Judie

hedgie said...

Anyway, Norma and Dana and Sharon and Sissy....congrats on the win!

hedgie said...

Andrea, you sure have a special hubby!! Spur of the moment hotel weekends...ha! A/C might not be his only motive...LOL! Kidding you.....I agree, you can study better with a cool brain. And you won't have to cook---that's cool, too!
Ceil, glad you had a good time at the beach....hope your water is on!

deb said...

Lunch time here, or is it dinner time. Too late for one, too early for the other. This new schedule is going to take some getting used to.

hedgie said...

Cucumber salad sounds good, Judie---love it! But forgot to get cukes when I went to farm market.
I did stop and splurge on some Texas BBQ ribs....have them warmimg up in the oven---smell so-o-o good!
Sorry you didn't find your blouse yet, Judie. Keep looking---when you least expect it....there it will be!

deb said...

Time to head back, 8:30 seems a long way off.

stronghunter said...

Hello,

Got some tomatoes and an onion at the market. We were a little late getting there, and many of the stands were closed already. But I did get what I really wanted.

After the market, we went to the Fredericksburg Pub for lunch. I had never been there before. Interesting. All kinds of new stores and restaurants back there, many not opened yet. I hope the economy does not defeat them.

All kinds of goldfinch activity in my backyard.

Lolly said...

Hi all! It is college football for me, Texas Chrisitan Univ, (TCU) but they are not playing today. Yep, I am a TCU Horn Frog!!

And, Jack, is Georgia Tech....all the way!!! Sure wish TCU and Tech would play some day. That would be fun!

Have Jacob's birthday presents ready. Besides the castle and the costume, Jack made him a front end loader. It is really pretty...two colors of wood. I should take a picture of it so you guys can see Jack's pretty work. Going to give Jacob is presents tomorrow. His 5th birthday is
Tuesday but we will not see him. Then Sunday the 13 is his party, but grandparents gifts need to be special.

floralgirl said...

Lolly said...

Poof! But I got a pic for proof! Made my day!

stronghunter said...

Got some more pictures.

magpie said...

Wow...that was Nice!

Lolly said...

Megan, was that Belle?

magpie said...

I took three, will add them to Momsters Album shortly...

xo Hi Eagle Pals... xo

Lolly said...

What do you think, Margy? Belle?

stronghunter said...

Hey Judie, I went online looking for a blouses for professors. No blouses, but thought you might like one of these. I see several possibilities.

T-Shirts for Professors

stronghunter said...

. . . that's blouses for professors.

magpie said...

Lolly, I think it was Liberty....but I am not much of an Eagle Eye as the others are...my pictures on the Momsters Album might reveal it...esp the first one.
xo
Just getting on....any sightings this morning ?

magpie said...

I think usually Belle is a little busier in the nest, moves a few sticks around and such, waiting for Megan's opinion...

stronghunter said...

Two sightings this morning.

Lolly said...

Margy, I do not think anyone saw an eagle this morning, not sure.

I posted a pic on my blog, Misc Pictures. ☺

Shirley, love the prof t-shirts. Think Judie should go gor Sexy Prof or Have you hugged a Prog today.

stronghunter said...

Check my pics from this morning.

magpie said...

Oh, yes, Shirley, just viewed your spectacular Morning Pictures ! Great stuff ! xo

Back in a few....

Lolly said...

Well, Belle or Lib, I was so excited to see it with a clear cam. Wahoo!

Lolly said...

The static hum does not seem so loud this evening. Had no problem hearing the eagle fly into the nest.

magpie said...

Ha Ha I have to chuckle when you talk about the sound at the nest....will have that pleasure again ONE OF THESE DAYS !!!

Lolly said...

Oh, Margy! So sorry! Hope you get your sound back soon! I was playing a computer game when I heard the eagle fly in!

magpie said...

And I was just checking emails and headed straight to the Still Cam and saw the Bird, and your and Megan's Eagle Alert !

Nice pic you got, Lolly, Bird sure was doing some funny beak moves, almost like panting....

Lolly said...

I like the color in the pic!

Lolly said...

Just got an email from Michael. Zach was too tired yesterday to really enjoy the zoo. Did enjoy the tram ride over the zoo. They have a room looking over the beach and the Pacific. Cool!

floralgirl said...

whoops, sorry, working on a spread sheet, had another page open...I thought it was Lib. But I ain't positive....

magpie said...

Yes, Lolly - Take pictures of Jacob's presents!

Lynn glad you got to the auction, sorry you came home empty-handed pallet-wise...thanks for trying! At least you got some BBQ for dinner!

Dana and Ed ! Thank you for the lovely card! Hope my package makes such good travel time via US Postal Service....I am hoping for a late night delivery confirmation for package to Naples...!

Got to check old thread and hit the showers, will be back on in a little while, can hardly type...

xo TTFN Good to See Everyone !

magpie said...

Sharon :
I would have hollered for you when I saw the Sea Eagles at Finney Nest at 2 am our time...was afraid I would get scolded for not being in Bed! I WAS in bed, but got up for a "nature break" and just had a hunch to check Finney's. Helen thinks it could have been a Juvie Sea Eagle, I think she is right !

stronghunter said...

EAGLE ALERT!

stronghunter said...

poof

Lolly said...

Poof again!

Off to fix dinner.

I hear someone or something by the nest cam!

floralgirl said...

And back again! with a stick.

floralgirl said...

stronghunter said...

Both gone.

Lolly said...

Poof! Both gone! But not far. hear them

Mema Jo said...

WHoo Hoo!

Finally I get to see an Eagle in OUR
nest.

floralgirl said...

But not far...sounds like someone is right above the cam. Earlier you could see the cam move right before one came into the nest with the stick.

Lolly said...

I am a happy camper. Both eagles! Now I am going to go fix dinner.

Lolly said...

Hi Jo! They poofed, but not far. You can hear one or both!

stronghunter said...

Spidey is at work.

Mema Jo said...

Well I'm getting a Server Error

BUT Whoo Hoo....

I have been watching our nest
and our eagle(s).......

stronghunter said...

Hear movement above the nest.

Mema Jo said...

floralgirl said...

Either there is a bird up above the cam, or that is one BIG spider...creepy..crawly...creepy...crawly...

magpie said...

Congratulations Eagle Ladies...for seeing the birds again, I was lost in the bubbles.
Neighbor Lady is in tears about something, must go make a visit.
Prayers might be needed for whatever is the cause of the sadness...

Catch you later...xo ☺

magpie said...

Whatever that is making filaments around the nest better not do any pooping on the lens !

Judie said...

Rats and Double-Rats because I missed our Belle and Liberty. But, as Scarlet would say, "tamorrah is anotha day"

Hey, Shirley I'm giving some serious thought to the t-shirt option.

Lolly, I could combine sexy with hug and really be in fantasy land.

Hi Jo, Megan, and Margie.

Back later -- off to watch Law & Order.

Judie
So glad you heard from Micahel and they are having a nice time.

stronghunter said...

Judie, I saw a couple of shirts I could use myself.

stronghunter said...

We are allowed to dress down on Fridays, but only if we honor the school with blue and gold, or something school-related. An "academic" tee would probably be acceptable. I do not think I could get away with "sexy" anything, though.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Just got home from a meeting on Roanoke. We bathed all 5 dogs today and was that a job!! Hopefully my children will adjust to their new surroundings, that is Scooby and Hairy! The other 2 have already been here a lot!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Magpie, would that be bubbles from a bath or champagne?

stronghunter said...

Hi Sharon. Sounds like a busy day.

Lolly said...

Had a delicious dinner.

Yuck! Can not believe we are getting a spider web so soon. Double drat! Can still hear an eagle close to the cam. Nice to know they are in the tree for the night.

Lolly said...

Well, I do hope Margy's sweet neighbor does not have too terrible a problem. How blessed she is to have Margy next door!

deb said...

I am home and see you all had a nice treat tonight.

Lolly said...

Oh, yes, Deb. It was great! Nice size branch was also brought in.

deb said...

For all you moon watchers, we have a beautiful moon tonight here in Vermillion. Round and orange!

Lolly said...

And, someone is close to the mic. mmmmmmm wonder who???

magpie said...

Yeah, Deb! It's your Friday, sort of, or what do you call a day when you don't have to work the next one?
Are you working Monday?

xo

bubbles from a bath, Sharon, just like your pups!

stronghunter said...

I noticed a pretty orange moon here in Fredericksburg, too.

Lolly said...

Margy, your neighbor okay?

magpie said...

And ours was round and orange exactly one hour ago ! ☺

Little neighbor lady, just feeling melancholy and lonely....think we came up with a cure for some of the blues, she talked about some old times, and we laughed about James and his funny sayings.

Lolly said...

Yea Margy! Bless you for taking care of your neighbor!

magpie said...

I was worried it was really going to be some bad/sad news regarding her finances...fixed income, elderly, lots of big time debt...was relieved it was not anything to do with any of that!
I can't work much of a cure in that regard.
Thanks for caring right along with me, friends.....♥ You Rock !

Lolly said...

Moon peeking out from behind clouds here.

deb said...

I work on Monday, Margy, 8:30-5:30. At least it isn't the late shift on a holiday.

Judie said...

Yep, Shirley, I think I'll spend a few minutes looking at shirts tomorrow. Could be fun to customize -- Have you hugged your sexy professor today? Maybe you could get something with one of your favorite lit characters.

I hear tap dancing on the microphone but don't see any critter.

Sharon, you must have the cleanest dogs in Bedford - busy, busy day.

Time to read a bit before sleep now. Turning out my light but leaving the night light on for others. Shirley, don't forget to set the eye scanner!

magpie said...

Of course, God plays a big part in any comfort plan I can manage...

I have learned this about posting:
I always, almost that is, highlight and copy my message, then hit the preview button, then publish....seems to go through faster. (with fewer typoes also!)

Oh brother the time bandit is approaching...another early work morning soon. I hope that when I get up the Sea Eagle might be on the nest at Finney's ! And I on Monday I will labor at finding new wildflowers and checking for birds!Might catch some migrating ones.

Lolly said...

We have had a chance of rain this weekend, but Jack chased all the rain away. First he ordered and received a new "official" rain gauge. It is installed. Also, he spread fertilizer and pre emergent. Guaranteed to stop all chance of rain.

magpie said...

catch them in my field glasses, that is ☺

stronghunter said...

Yeah, we don't want that nasty Grendel getting in. Gotta make sure the door is good and strong, too. Grendel has a way of tearing doors right off the wall.

magpie said...

Okay, Deb, you think about me Sunday, and I will think about you Monday !

magpie said...

Lolly !

Wash your cars! That always brings the rain on for me!

magpie said...

Deb - Shirley and Lolly have Eagle pics, mine are on the Momsters album, and Wanda has a video!

I would feel a lot better about my Birthday Package making that U-turn and spending the night in Baltimore if Ceil and Mary Margy would have been home....but glad they are enjoying the beach! (I think MM went, right ?)

magpie said...

Good Night Judie !!
That night light works great, and I didn't stumble in the moments after midnight when I got home from work last night...it was still a'glowin'

magpie said...

Oh yes, Spidey is swinging on his web all right...bobbing in the middle of the nest....

Mema Jo said...

Magpie - Ceil and all are home. She was on the blog letting us know that all it well in Baltimore....

Mits said...

Margy the Baltimore crew went home yesterday morning, told them they could stay:)

Mits said...

Mits said...

Mits said...

good night everyone...prayers for all.

stronghunter said...

Looks like the new branch that was brought in is on the side of the nest. (Leaves at about 10 o'clock.) Doesn't look like much is left of the nest plant.

stronghunter said...

I have some pictures from this evening's visit, but am too tired to post them tonight.

Lolly said...

Deb, I got one picture of the nest visit tonight. I changed the name of the blog it is on. Misc. pics was too generic. lol Now Eagle and Panda pics.

deb said...

I am joining everyone in heading off to bed. Time to read for awhile.

Night everyone!

Lolly said...

Just added one more picture taken tonight with both eagles working on the nest.

deb said...

I checked them out, Lolly! thnks

Mema Jo said...

Lolly I see you renamed your album - No more Misc. I thought it was all gone!

Mema Jo said...

Lolly Had you posted pic of the
wall clock present.........?

magpie said...

Thanks, Mits - I read Ceil's posts but thought she was still in Ocean City using your computer!

Monday evening ISS flyover will be at -4. brightness. That is one of the brightest yet! the bigger the negative number the brighter the view! I missed it tonight.
I'll post the link for the times.... you post a clear sky report for us!

Time for beddy-bye...
Good Night everyone.
God Bless Us, Every One

stronghunter said...

Can't find Wanda's video of this morning's nest visit.

stronghunter said...

Will check back tomorrow. Good night!

Lolly said...

No, I have not. Will do!

magpie said...

Hey, my list for ISS flyover did not include this area for me....glad I didn't go out looking!

Lolly said...

Margy, under family pics I have posted two pictures of the "Jack bilt" front end loader.

Jo, I have also posted after the front end loader a pic of the patio clock for Ashley's birthday.

Remember to double click to see the loader really well. I am proud of Jack's work.

floralgirl said...

well, Jack is certainly very talented. That is one cool looking front end loader.

Lolly said...

He does fantatic work. The boys have really benefitted from his building toys. I laughingly told him tonight they are going to need a new house to hold all the things he has built.

Mema Jo said...

Thanks Lolly. I love the clock.

Jack is one skilled toy maker!
He should have his
signature and a date underneath the
front end loader. It great to have the picture of it also.

hedgie said...

Y-a-w-n....took a panda nap after dinner, and then got wrapped up finishing a book!
Margy, so glad you made your friend feel better! You are a pure ray of sunshine.
Hope your pkg. reached your bro today---no mail on Monday! The 7th is also Ann B's. b-day!

hedgie said...

Okay...I'll be ready at 12, Wanda! Look out, Jo!!!
Well, I am following the rest out the door....nightlight is on...sleep well, prayers for all in need, and thankfulness for wonderful friendships!

Lolly said...

I am headed to bed...not out the door. lol

Jo, Jack has a brand and he burns his name onto the bottom of things he makes. If he sold them he would have to charge way too much. They are a labor of love.

I will be ready and waiting at noon, Wanda. I'll be at the end of the drive. Watch out Jo, here we come. So nice of you to invite us for hot dogs!!!! Love you!

And, so nice of Wanda to pick us all up.

Wanda, what is wrong with Gene's ankle????

Nite all! Sweet dreams! See ya tomorrow at Jo's. Wahoo!

Thanks, Mits. I looked in on her.

stronghunter said...

Yep. I checked that one earlier. There might be some news on Koo on the 9th. I read that they are supposed to do some procedures on him / her then.

yes, read that also, but some of the translations are confusing.

Very confusing.

One post said that it is polite to contact them in Finnish, and I appreciate that, but I would not know what I was saying, might end up insulting them.

. . . or simply amusing them. Would have to use an online translator, and I already know what that does to a message.

Sorry, I was so excited it was on the front page of the paper, I forgot to say Good Morning everyone!

Someone in Montreal once told me that it is polite to speak French when there. Again, I appreciate the idea, and I tried to say a few things in French to her, but I would have been limited to a few phrases and maybe counting to five or so.

When I try to use Spanish words with my Hispanic students, they laugh and correct my pronunciation. Maybe it is good to let them know I am trying, but I can't use much of that language, either. Really wish I knew more Spanish.
