I was cleaning my laptop and that is my story and I am sticking to it!

Mits said...

I think you have a ghost blogger there in Bedford...whhhhhooooo:)

hedgie said...

So much exciting news being shared! Tomato angels, new furniture plus a new laptop, open house a-n-t-i-c-i-p-a-t-i-o-n!!!! All sounds fun!
And hopefully pkg. arrival in Tampa tomorrow, right , Margy?
Had company for a little while earlier. eldest and 15 y.o. gd stopped in....I needed a "holder" in order to trim dog's toenails! Got a very unpleaasant surprise, which has me a bit upset. Sure I'll get over it, but....for now I am still fuming. Just don't understand some people. Carolyn "let" Jessica pay for and get her eyebrow pierced......I just can't believe it.......stupid, stupid, stupid.

stronghunter said...

Hi Lynn,

Jessica is your grandchild?

stronghunter said...

Do know about having to have a "holder" to trim dog toenails. Basset hounds have very thick nails.

Mits said...

stay calm, Lynn, this to shall pass, don't sweat the small stuff...

magpie said...

Once I had to have a paramedic friend tend to my doggie's ingrown toenail, hubby at the time and I had the dog totally wrapped up in a blanket except for one paw....boy did that dog howl! But the problem was taken care of.

Well, Lynn...maybe Jessica will feel like "one of the girls" - I can understand your disdain, though. She surely does not need to enhance her beauty, though, she is beautiful young lady.

Oh, package has made it to Tampa twice and Baltimore once. It needs to get to Naples !
Good to see you, Woman...
been waiting on ya'.

stronghunter said...

Many kids have piercings. It takes a little getting used to for us senior citizens. Several of our young teachers--and administrators--male and female--have tattoos. It is a different generation.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Could be a ghost blogger! You just never know!

stronghunter said...

Maybe Edgar Allan Poe is blogging with us.

Mits said...

be nice Edgar:)

stronghunter said...

He did like to write about birds.

magpie said...

There is one other consolation, Lynn...at least it is the eyebrow, and not somewhere else...

I would be happy to have pierced ears again...

stronghunter said...

At least a raven.

hedgie said...

Yep, she's my granddaughter....but not sure I feel like claiming her tonight....kidding, of course, but yeah, it is hard to take. I know, Mits....hopefully by the time she's an "adult" she'll remove it!! Both of my girls have succumbed to the tattoo craze in the last few yeaars, and they can't remove them! I just keep thinking of them sagging when they get old...LOL! Poetic justice.

stronghunter said...

At least she did not do it with a safety pin on the way to school. I have seen that happen, though mostly with guys.

hedgie said...

I have been watching Golden Girls reruns ALL day!! Love those ladies.

Mits said...

yes he did...the mascots for the Ravens football team were 3 ravens...Edgar, Allan and Poe.....don't know what happened to Edgar and Allan, but Poe is still around.

Costume Lady said...

Yes, it is a different generation. Remember how grown-ups frowned upon our guy's DUCK TAILS and our wild and crazy music? That was TAME compared to what is HIP now.
Lynn, I feel your pain. My grandaughter had her brow pierced a number of years ago and I was brokenhearted...GeeGee cried when she saw her. Just looked uncivilized. She finally got tired of it and took it out, but I had to look at it a gazillion times before she decided to do that!

stronghunter said...

But there will be lots of sagging tattoos among their peers one day.

magpie said...

I've been doing my Google Homework, grandson wants to know how Cuba got its name, and what else besides Humans, bees and wasps sting...think I have enough to start with. He especially wanted to know if bees sting elephants!

Back to some more Home Labor, since you can see I took a break.
Hey Mits! Always fun to see you on here late. Sure couldn't see ISS tonight for all the clouds here :(

Mits said...

I don't know when the clouds are going to clear away from here Margy...the tap, tap, tap I hear on my window pane tonight will be the strong gusty winds

stronghunter said...

Elephants have tough skin, I would think. Bet a bee would have a hard time stinging one.

stronghunter said...

Must say good night. It is getting late.

See you later!

Costume Lady said...

You all know that I may have had a visit from E A Poe's ghost last night, don't you? Ask Judie about it...she started it!

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Did you all know that Edgar Allan Poe died when he was 40?

Mits said...

my son wanted an ear ring in the junior year of high school, talked him out of it because he was going to the DR for six weeks in the summer, told him if it got infected, there are no doctors in the remote areas of the mountains, he waited till he graduated from high school and did it at beach week....told him it looked very nice, and never said another word....6 months later it was gone...:)

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

On October 7, 1849, at age 40, Poe died in Baltimore; the cause of his death is unknown and has been variously attributed to alcohol, brain congestion, cholera, drugs, heart disease, rabies, suicide, tuberculosis, and other agents.

Costume Lady said...

Nite, Shirley:)

stronghunter said...

Judie, you have an e-mail.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Now, see, I always told Andrew he could have one and he was never interested. Reverse psychology worked really well there!

stronghunter said...

You do wonder what Poe might have written if he had lived longer. He certainly had a troubled life.

Good night for real.

Mits said...

yeah there was some discussion about him the other day on the blog, Sharon

Lolly said...

Plan on watching for ISS here tomorrow night. Hope I do not forget!

Lynn, feel your pain. Do not know how I would react. I know I would not be happy!!!!

Mits said...

you know there are so many other terrible things they could be doing besides a piercing...just be thankful that they are healthy and happy...so many childern out there have great moutains to climb in their lifetime.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

You are certainly right about that Mits!

hedgie said...

Oh, yuck, Shirley, that sounds painful!
Love your new furniture---bet you are really anxious for it to come! Congrats!

Costume Lady said...

Sure glad Kevin decided to take the earring out...would have ruined that handsome face!

hedgie said...

Margy, it's easy to re-open your ears!
Thanks for making me feel better, gang! At least you've got me laughing!
So Poe is with us again tonight, I see! "Quoth the Raven, Nevermore"!

hedgie said...

Lolly, are the travelers home from San Diego yet?

hedgie said...

Sure sounds like rain is on its way! Guess Candy will get it first, then Shirley and Mits and then nest area! Hope it's enough to help!

hedgie said...

Discovery and ISS crews have wsaid their goodbyes and closed their hatches. Shuttle scheduled for Thurs. landing.

hedgie said...

Guess everyone has deserted! Or maybe getting dessert!!! Wish I had some ice cream---mmmm. Heading for tub. See all y'all in the morning! Prayers for all, and thanks given for fine fowl friends. Peace.

Mits said...

this is pretty much a coastal storm, Lynn..high winds, heavy rain, coastal flooding, dangerous surf

Mits said...

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Good morning eagle and panda friends! Back to the real world, summer is over!! :( Not quite sure how that happened so fast but it is what it is! Now I am looking forward to the Open House in October.

Hope all had a great weekend!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

We had lots of excitement at the lake this weekend. My dogs found a copperhead right outside the camper door. Tom was fishing and me and Mattie were there alone. Flipped us right out. The park host, park range, police and everybody came. They relocated the snake and no one got bit thank God!!! It was after dark and they said that was very unusual. Tom wanted to relocate it to snake heaven when he got back, got there right in the middle of all the excitement!!

stronghunter said...

Good morning! Have a good day. I just popped on to read the messages. Raining here this morning.

BBL.

THAT IS, THERE ARE TWO EAGLES IN THE NEST RIGHT NOW...

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Wow! Thanks for the heads up Magpie! I can't get my live feed to come up, can ya'll??

Morning Norma and Magpie!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

One now!! No live feed!!!!! BUMMER!

magpie said...

HI Norma and Hi Sissy
Live Feed has been down for a couple of days now...

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Oh, okay, then it is not just me. Been out of touch for a few days. Reckon summer is over, huh? We probably won't go camping any more this year. We will keep the boat at the lake till the end of October, so we may go out on it a few more times. I want to go when the leaves are gone so I can see if there is an eagle nest somewhere down there. People say there is but I haven't seen any sign of an eagle. We do see lots of osprey though, which is wonderful!!

Eagle-Eyed's Sissy said...

Both eagles again!!

magpie said...

Sounds like a good plan, Sissy, going back up to check for Eagles, YAY on plentiful Osprey...

Nice, two were back in the nest again, could happen again, it has been like that.

Pics are posted on Shirley, Lolly, Deb blogs and Momsters Album, and Wanda also has a video on one of her links...(And FB) you'll see they were around quite a lot over the week-end.

Hope Norma came back in time to see them, I'm going back to bed for a little while, eyes are giving me a hard time.

Norma: thanks! It's the (Eagle) Company I keep ☺ xo ♥

normabyrd said...

Good morning, everyone.

Arrrrrrgggg! THE RAVEN WOKE ME UP TOO EARLY. Am in my office waiting to go talk about criminals. Will check in later today.

Judie said...

Shirley, have not received an email. 8:55am.

Lolly said...

Good morning! Ahhh, Norma, Mario's. Did we not have a fantastic Sunday?! A glorious train ride to see the eagles and then lunch together. More fun!
And to top it off....NCTC late Sunday with Paula and Deb...and Jack and I personally met Belle and Lib. Truly a great day! I am reminded of it every time I see Deb's eagle pic on this blog.

Lolly said...

I was up early today. Have to do some cooking to take food for a bereavement meal. Memorial service at our church at 11 and then help serving the meal afterwards. An elderly (96) man in our church passed away. His daughter and daughter in law are good friends.

Lolly said...

Just visited the OK eagle cam. It is pointed at a tree and I can barely make out an eagle. Cool! Have not been to that cam for a while.

deb said...

Good morning, hair cut this am, so will be back later today.

Lolly said...

Sure this is the day for a hair cut, Deb?

Lolly said...

I am off to cook. I too, will be back later today!

paula eagleholic said...

Happy Birthday, Kevin!

those eagles remind me of hubby and myself....one year to go and then he retires....hmmmm, that will be challenging.....

Mits said...

thanks for the BD wishes, Lynn and Paula...will pass them on to the birthday boy...

magpie said...

Good Morning Paula.. four day work week, I guess that could be a good and not so good thing...hope it goes smoothly. These days you are working seven days a week anyway it seems...

Me too, Hedgie, testy pair...similar to what Megan and I were watching last week... Great Job Gene and Wanda !

Maybe Belle is PMS'ing...

Got to get some things ready to mail, letters and cards, NO packages...☺

magpie said...

I don't think we have asked Wanda to get the message to myoutdoortv.com about the cam...they might not know about it yet...

Wanda, oh Wanda, can you take care of this for us ? ☺
Thanks!

Mits said...

your right I forgot to ask her, Margy

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE...
It is a dreary morning and 68° here in Martinsburg/Shepherdstown. Very fitting for the day after Labor Day and the ending of Summer Fun:( But...we have each other and what more could one ask?! Maybe a WORKING Live cam would help;)
Has anyone emailed Steve? I volunteer if no one has.

Costume Lady said...

Sorry Margy and Helen...I need to read comments before I type. I will contact Chris and Steve, now.

magpie said...

Mind-Reader Wanda! We were wondering if you could take care of this for us...you seem to have the right "connection" for the outdoortv cam folks.. ☺

magpie said...

My computer is way too pokey this morning
Thanks Wanda !

Hoping to hear that Gene is doing better today....Prayers for a good recovery SOON ! xo ♥

TTFN

Mits said...

thanks, Wanda:)

Costume Lady said...

EMAILS HAVE BEEN SENT TO CHRIS AND STEVE.

Capt. Gene is getting better. His foot is only twice the size of normal...as opposed to 3 times!
He should be tip-top by the time the Shop opens, (I hope). I have gotten to the point where I am afraid to be there alone. So much crime is occuring in the little Mom & Pop places. We are tucked back in the woods and it is a prime target for the CRAZIES out there!

paula eagleholic said...

Margy - 4 day week....hee hee...I am taking off this coming Friday and Monday...going to Ocean City (and nobody dare fuss!!) for my 30th High School Reunion ...so I have a 3 day week this week, then a 4 day week next week. YAY!!!

stronghunter said...

Judie, I will check this evening to see what went wrong with the e-mail. I used the address I have in my address file, but can't access that stuff from work.

Hope your teaching day goes well.

Costume Lady said...

I, periodically empty the cash register and put in a SAFE place in the house. If we are robbed, they probably won't get much...that is if they can get past Gene and his trusty little persuader:)

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda - missed what was wrong with Gene, but glad he is improving!

Costume Lady said...

Oh, Paula, good for you! You really need a vacation. ENJOY, ENJOY!
Amazing how old everyone looks at those reunions: Tee Hee

magpie said...

Sounds great, Paula!
Good for You!

Okay, Wanda...keep hugging that foot, it must be working !

possibly a gout problem, Paula...

Costume Lady said...

Paula, I think Gene has a very bad case of Gout. I'm not a doctor, but I slept at a Motel 6! LOL

Costume Lady said...

I think that I told you before that I use my camera's video setting to film the nest, thus the poor quality, but you can still see what is happening...better than nothing, I guess. Wish I had Paula's expertise.

paula eagleholic said...

Wanda - sounds like you need to throw Gene in the car and take him to the Dr.

Hope to get to watch your video later :)

ceil said...

Getting on to wish my nephew a HAPPY 32nd BIRTHDAY. Card is in the mail.

Mema Jo said...

Good almost over Morning

Congratulations Mits on being a parent for 32 years! You sure learn a lot of things during that time!
Happy 32nd birthday Kevin
Your Mom & Dad are proud of you, I'm sure

Mema Jo said...

My daughter is here and we have been busy. I looked at my emails & read the blog but got sidetracked & didn't sign in!
Meatball is going to be here this evening - not sure what is on the menu.
I want to hear all about her school days! She sometimes gets so busy with her make believe that I can't get much talk out of her unless she lets me play the part of a 'sister'.

Costume Lady said...

Before I get too busy, I'd like to wish Helen's baby boy, a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY. He is a wonderful son, husband, father and quite handsome to boot!;) Helen & Jubby, you did good!

Mema Jo said...

I'll be on and off today
Dr appointment around 2:30 (Podiatrist)

hedgie said...

That's cute, Jo...which kind of sister---sib or nun????

Mema Jo said...

sib

Costume Lady said...

Alexis sounds like my grandaughter when she was that age. She was such a joy to be around and I missed her wonderful "imagination" when she got older:)

Mits said...

thanks, Wanda:)...lol, Lynn, can just see Jo, dressed up like a nun

Costume Lady said...

Hold on there, Jo...sending Gene to your house, take him with you! LOL

Mits said...

Sister Mema Jo:)...has a nice ring to it.

Costume Lady said...

Grandaughter had an imaginary dog and would give him commands in public and fuss at him when he was bad. Had people looking all around for the "dog" she was talking to!
She would tell him that she was going to leave him at home the next time she went shopping if he didn't behave:) Hysterical!

Costume Lady said...

Paula, it is best to watch the video on Facebook. Get to see the two of them fly off and hear their wings flapping (which I love to hear). Wish youtube would allow videos longer than 10 min.

magpie said...

Those imaginary tales are such fun!

While I am thinking about it:
tomorrow at 9 minutes and 9 seconds after nine o'clock, it will be

0909:09 on 09-09-09
so I guess that makes it:
09-09-09-09-09-09
Well, the grandson should like this one, since he is 9 years old, this is his favorite number !

xo ☺

don't see any new info on Koo from FINNEY'S nest...today is supposed to be the day I think vets will look at him.

Sissy, read about your copper......so glad you saw it before anything bad happened. BTW...it is not at all unusual for them to seek structures at night---the warmth draws them. Always the most dangerous time---never sit on porches, benches near buildings, etc. in the dark w/o checking closely!

hedgie said...

LOL, Mits....I always ask Christie is she wants me to call her at 2:38 AM on her birthday....for some reason, she always says NO, Mom!

Mema Jo said...

I am almost out the door - I really am hoping to get back in time to view the shuttle activity. Pray all goes well.

Good Afternoon Eagle Fans! (NOT phila.)
Arrival at Park this AM was a chirpy osprey greeting!! Couldn't see them, but later saw 2 flying overhead. Later one landed w/fish on a tree branch that I could view from a window!!!!! Got it's pic--so dark, almost a silhouette. Got one outside that showed it to be a juvie!!!!Good Boy/Girl!LOTS of goldfinches at sunflower seeds and a couple hummers. Of course, cute little chipmunk is zipping around! So migration hasn't hit everyone.
