RED...reading back over comments, I saw where you are having a procedure for gall bladder. I am always amazed at the difference between that procedure now and when I had mine. Missing Dana for quite a while - Pray all is well.
Want to bring Red's comment over to this thread.............. Red said...
Good morning all y'all. I've been lurking for a while and enjoying all the posts. Been busy with Facebook games. I see Wanda and Glo in Yoville, Bev and Glo in Farmsville and Farmtown. Those darn games are very addictive. I had a severe belly ache for a couple of days a few weeks ago and found out I have gallstones. My gall bladder will come out Monday the 28th (my birthday). Nowdays it's not a big deal but I need your prayers anyway. So everyone put me on your prayer list. Thanks!!!!!!!! Friday, September 25, 2009 8:31:00 AM
Prayers are with you - great to rid your system of those gallstones!
Happy Friday, Momsters and Dadsters (Yo, Red!! and welcome Chunky Bob). Had rain during the night---such an unusual sight to wake up and see everything WET! HEard it so knew it happened before I got up, but didn't know if it was enough to matter or not!
Red, so sorry to hear about your pending surgery...not much of a birthday...but prayers that everything goes well and that you feel like a new person after you heal.
Too bad Margy's day got messed up. That girl definitely needs more time off!
Sent out a SILVER ALERT email to Dana. No can do with Norma since her email doesn't work! I would hope that she would have posted that she was going to FL if that was the plan---sure hope Davin is doing okay. Love the penquin cam, Mits! They're so funny!
Sissy, glad that Tom's mom is doing better. Megan, that is really too bad that you couldn't do pumpkins this year....imagine they help with the maze decoration, plus probably sell at that time, too. Guess it wouldn't be good growing conditions anyway this year with so little rain. And sorry that you and Wanda have to fight the bugs so bad in your gardens.
Lolly, saw the news coverage this morning on the Dallas incident. Yea, cops!!!! Boo dumb kid. Mighty fancy building Michael works in---if it was the one used in filming Dallas, it must have really been considered way modern back then!
Oh, no, SO sorry Bill...don't know where my mind went!! I should certainly remember Crunch--it was my youngest daughters' nickname as a teen because she wrecked every vehicle she drove (until she was about 28!!). Maybe THAT'S why I got it wrong----it certainoly wasn't a good name in our family! Please accept my apology. Thanks, Mits!
Good Morning/Afternoon, Everyone! Welcome, Bob, aka crunch! Always fun to meet someone new here. Good to have you around! Red, you will certainly be in my prayers for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery! Mits, thanks for the penguin cam link! Gotta share it with my oldest gd--she's a penguin lover from way back! Those little guys are adorable. So thankful that you guys back east are getting some rain! Boy, would I like to trade for somma dat--it was 103 here yesterday! Yech!
...Back again. That was someone calling on my cell phone to try to sell me some kind of food supplement! GRrrrrrrr. Continued prayers for Dana; sorry her eye is still bothering her. Hope it improves rapidly! Prayers for Davin's continued improvement, and for a rapid recovery too! Glad Norma's doing fine... Wanted to mention that the 'Grey's Anatomy' premiere was excellent! I think my favorite so far was NCIS, though. LOVE that show!
Dana says she misses all of you and keeps you in her prayers - I think we also will be keeping her and ED in our prayers. Ed is very weak.. Sleeps a good bit of his time. Dana is hoping her right eye gets better and that her eye exam for new glasses does the trick!
Bob aka Crunch was on a while last evening. He is from Greencastle PA and you remember I used to go up to Tony's Pizza and would invite Suz to come over.... Bob lives down that street he said! Small world.......
Just remembered that the exterminator is coming today to spray for those nasty 8-legged freaks. Have the sprinklers turned off, per their instructions, so guess I'd better go water the patio plants that usually get watered by the sprinklers. It's gonna be another scorcher today! No break in the weather predicted till next Wednesday! BBIALW...
Hi, West coast folks! Sorry you all are sweltering....much cooler here today--only in the 70's. Did you notice that you have lost Anne Marie for a couple of weeks? She is in Ohio now, and heading this way on their way to Williamsburg. n We will hopefully get to eat with her and her bro and SIL one day early next week! Good luck on tonights' exam, Andy!
Not only that, Mits, but she was quite young and healthy. Have to say that everyone has the cancer gene in their body somewhere, and that something triggers or activates it....one of my deepest beliefs is that STRESS is one of the biggest triggers....and God knows that Dana Reeve was certainly under big-time stress.
'Fraid I gotta go study some more for the Anatomy test tonight. Will BBL, if I have a chance. Otherwise, it'll be after school tonight--pretty late for you easterners! Have a great afternoon! :o]
Well, I got the gas tank hooked up to the grill---now that grill was cooled off and I could see better in sunlight! Ta-dah! And stupid gas co. guy turned off big tank when he refilled it this morning...so had to turn it back on and now will have to relight pilot on gas stove.....with forecast of night temps in 30's next week, sure I will have to turn it on.
Andrea, good luck tonight. Another A+ no doubt about it.
Lolly, how are you all doing today? Better, I hope.
Lynn, what'cha grillin' for dinner tonight?
Jo, I hope you're referring to Jim's computer system!
Eagle prayer for Red for a very successful birthday present.
Welcome to Bob. Hmmm -- won't ask about the crunch part.
Really happy Dana was in touch but troubled about Ed. I'm sending a gazillion eagle prayers for both.
Well, once again time for my evening ritual of frig. gazing. Am tired tonight. Meeting was 1 1/2hr of wasted time -- everyone always knows a better way to make snow fly.
Hi Thelma and Judie! Thelma, hope the dogs all keep you good company this weekend. Anything special planned? No grilling tonight, Judie...but it's ready for the next time, whenever! Supposed to rain tomorrow, and probably eating out Sunday, so maybe burgers Monday.
Good evening! Can not believe I have not been on all day. Left early this morning to have blood work done. Came home and Jack had already started on the yard work, so I just in and joined him and then just kept at it all day.
Yes, I am much better today. Never did watch Dallas, so had no idea that Fountain Place was the building for Dallas. Michael is a partner with a firm in that building. Now you know where my Michael works. However, I would be much happier if that building was not so publicized.
Going to two soccer games in the morning. However, Jacob does not know we are going to be there. You never know what to expect of him, especially if it is calling attention to him. Bless his heart!
Their games are at the same time tomorrow. So, we will stand at Joseph's field but also try to look over at Jacob's game. His first game ever!!!
Lolly - enjoy yourselves. I sure do remember having to watch 2 fields on the same day at the same time. I used to stay first half at one field and then turn around and watch the second half at the other field. Once you go they really expect to see you there watching them! It's one of those proud grandparent moments!
Hi Eagle Pals. Good to hear from Red, wish he didn't have to spend his birthday at the doc's. And thanks for posting about Norma and Dana, Jo
Didn't get out at half-time, in fact, someone else went home at half time and a third person couldn't come in at all...missed the visit with the grandson, and am now on call for seven days :(
Seems like everyone is holding together pretty well here.
Day is done, gone the sun... think I will lose myself in something like maybe the pillows! I was really hoping to open up the Still Cam to an updated view :( :(
Yes, Jo, we enjoy it sooo much. Joseph loves for us to come. Jacob is another story. He is so shy. At practice Laurel has to walk him out to the coach. We do not know how he will react to a game. So, until we know that he will actually play, we are not letting him know that we will be there. lol
DAVIN is home!!!---She called about an hour ago!---Talked with all the grand-kids!!---One HAPPY HOME!!--Even the DOG was happy!---ho!---This has been a long day!----The neighbors & church are helping so much!!---Feel truly blessed!-----Talked with DANA this am--sending my thoughts & prayers to them!---Thanks for all your prayers for DAVIN!--
My thoughts have been of you all day long Norma! Dana told me she had talked with you so I felt much better. I thought you may have taken a plane ride to FL.. It was so reassuring to hear all their voices!
Hi there to all of you. We live at exit 3 of I-81 beside car auction. Wife's boy Gene Butts live's in Martinsburg and work's at VA. Wife lived outside of Hedgesville for about 31 years. She at that time had a good friend that lived in Hedgesville last name of Schoppert not there now. Paula, you did have a girl by the name of Dawn Murray that worked where you do. She is wife's boys wife's sisters one girl. (that was a good one) We get to martinsburg 1 or 2 times a month to see Gene and famly. Now you all know something about us. Something I said may of rang a bell. Who knows. I will be alot more of a listiner than a talker on here. (can't type) Pass this around please. I'll be in the back ground but will be glad when cam's is back on line. Have a good one B
LOLLY!---OH LORD!---How did you get through that threat on your son's bldg!----So sorry!!!---I just can't imagine how scared you must have been!---will keep you & JACK in my thoughts---& prayers!!--Take care----Love you folks...
JO, the answer is yes....work Mon and Tue 12 hrs off Wed and Thurs then back on Fri for 12 - goofy goofy schedule....I have never gotten anything sick-wise that people bring in, but everyone else does! I'm the oldest one in there, but seem to withstand the germs better than most.
Was trying to move the 1000-legger outdoors but it escaped! So now it is looking for a new home in the bathroom somewhere. Oh well.
Jack and I are going to spray on mosquitoe repellent and have dinner on the patio. We had an absolutely beautiful day. So great to have as day that is cool and clear skies.
Hi Crunch! Good to see you back on here with us. Don't sell yourself short - it is amazing how well we can correctly read misspelled words! Good to hear about you and family.
Maybe you could plan to come to the Open House at NCTC on Sat 104 Oct 17 in Shepherdstown. The nest is on their property. Open House is free and they have great exhibits of wild life.
Okay, Lynn, I'll just have to wait for the burgers. Settled for pasta with bacon/tomato sauce.
Paula, have a productive weekend. Safe trip.
Okay, Jo. You've got me once again -- what the heck are dippy eggs? Are those like the gross runny yellow stuff you dip toast into? Oh, never mind. I found the answer further down on the blog. Hope you enjoyed!
Lolly, enjoy Jacob's and Joseph's games. Hope both teams win!
Margie, sorry you missed a visit with the grandson. Maybe a make-up day very soon. Grand-ones will love having you there.
I will be out all day tomorrow volunteering at a District Festival. Supporting hubby in his Park Authority position.
Turning out my light now but leaving the night light on for others. Someone please remember to set the eye scanner and leave a flashlight for some late arrivals.
Margy that is a rough schedule for that stressful 911 position you hold down! As a mother of 5 I used to tell all that I didn't have time to get sick It sure sounds like you are saying the same thing.
Thanks Norma! Great to hear from you and to know that Davin is home. PTL!
Actually we heard about Michael's building after it was all over. Was not really scared when I heard the news, just "shook" to the bone! Made my eyes water for several hours.
Hey, Crunch, know both names...but having trouble placing them. What does Gene do at the VA? And my girls had a teacher named Schoppert when they were in Hedgesville schools. I have lived in the area for 38 yrs.
Tonight - I think I am going to watch Medium at 9:00 and maybe Numbers at 10:00.
Anyone else got better ideas?
Lolly I can picture you and Jack eating on the patio and reeking of mosquito repellent.... However I ♥ to smell citronella.... Margy is the one who brought to us all kinds of different bug repellent and some of it had good odors!
Had to come back quickly. Stink bugs made the D.C. news tonight. Seems Western Maryland, Sheperdstown, is especially infested -- is that a surprise to anyone? Advice, plug all possible openings that allow access, collect them, and dispose. Is that some insight or what?
Hi, Gang! Off to school--please say some prayers that I do OK on tonight's test. It's a doozie! Will report back when I get home late tonight... Thanks! :o]
Hedgie The Schopperts was Bill & Bernice. Did not teach. They did live around the tern on right from fire co. On side of hill. Wife's last name at that time was Butts and lived out butts mill road close to Drovince church. church name about right?? She left there 1981. House ready to fall down now no one live's there now. Gene works at VA. Has office on second floor.(adm) He teaches ?? B
Good evening everyone. I am home from my Friday night class. It was supposed to last until 10:00, but ended much earlier. She is e-mailing us a reading assignment. Tomorrow is suppposed to start at 9:00, but the professor said she doesn't like to start that early, so we are to be there at 9:30. Not bad.
One of the others in the class--a football coach--was a student of mine years ago. Would have been in the 1980s.
So good to hear about Dana and to get the good news from Norma.
Nice to hear from Red again.
Welcome to Bob "Crunch."
I am sure Andy is doing well on her test. I have never heard of so many tests and exams in a college class. It would wear me plumb out!
Don't want stink bugs, or thousand-leggers,either. Centipedes (the hundred-leggers) run across our classrooms sometimes. That always causes excitement.
Kathryn called yesterday to tell me that she has been exposed to H1N1. Her boss has been sick, then his son got sick and they took the son to the doctor, who was diagnosed with H1N1, so she is sure that is what the boss had. I haven't been around Kathryn since then, but I have plenty of other opportunities to be exposed. I am sure.
Will BBL. Must check my e-mail for the reading assignment.
Hey, Crunch..you're close...Providence Church. I live about a mile and a half from there now, and used to live off Mt. Lake and Butts Mill intersection. MemaJo's granddaughter lives on Providence Church now, and so does my guy's daughter.
I am still up, Lynn. The topic is teaching literacy in the content area . . . ways to teach students to read in all of their classes. So many of them have trouble reading and it prevents them from learning in all of their courses. This class covers methods to use to help them. Tomorrow we are going to be using computers to research and design a presentation.
Interesting stuff, Shirley. I am totally appalled at the near-total lack of comprehension. Even my own kids...started in a private school and learned to read very well very early...but never comprehended what they read. And now see grands who even in high and middle don't get it unless they read it over and over. Sad situation.
At least they are reading it over, Lynn. That is one comprehension strategy. I have noticed that when they encounter something difficult, successful students keep trying. They don't give up. The ones who are unsuccessful just say, "This is too hard. I can't do it." They give up. It is important to help them build confidence by convincing them that they need to build on what they do understand and keep plugging away.
I would have never gotten through graduate school if I had given up when I hit something I did not understand at first. I hit plenty of things I did not get at first.
Good night, Deb. Shirley, I find that they are both lazy in their discouragement. I have repeatedly shown them that the answers are right there in their book...they just have to re-read until they find it! And they always do! It's frustrating....with daughters' work schedule, they get very little homework oversight (their dad is of no help) and I try to encourage them to call me if they are having difficulty....a bit harder to help over the phone than in person, but it's better guidance than nothing. Otherwise, they are up trying to do it at 9 or 10 when they should be sleeping.
Keep up the help, Lynn. It is important. It sounds like they do care about their work. If they don't appreciate you now, they will. Telephone help is better than none.
Thanks, Shirley. Anxious to see first grade report. Youngest was always on honor roll in elementary and intermediate. Know that the transition to middle is challenging---but most test papers I have seen are very good. The freshman is another story---already had to repeat one grade (6th), so is sure not an overachiever.
Shirley, 8 out of 21 kids on her 6th grade team failed.....justification by one teacher was "it's hormonal with this age." That was real intuitive and professional, wasn't it?
Not a firm delivery date yet. I had a message on my cell phone from my furniture guy. He said that he called the love seat company and got the guy there to find me the pillow fabric I wanted to begin with. He informed the love seat guy that the biggest problem is the delivery date, and said they promised not more than about 3 more weeks. Yikes! But they did say 4-6 weeks when I bought it in August.
One sofa is in--the last one I bought. It's at the warehouse. It came in really fast.
It is high, isn't it? Aned they didn't all come from the same elementary school, so....makes me think that it was an instructional problem of some kind.
She was trying to say that the age and onset of puberty come in to play with how well students perform in school. Well, maybe so, but good educators know how to address those issues and keep kids focused and interested, don't they?
I also disagree with the way they assign teams---A,B,C---based on West Test scores. So kids already are made to feel that they aren't equal by the grouping, so may have mindset of being inferior and give up trying from the start.
Hi Shirley and Lynn! Just reading your conversation. Laurel is a 6th grade reading teacher. Says she has fantastic kids this year. That is good in that her new principal is the pits.
LOL Your comment Lynn, reminded me of when Jack was out at Edwards and Laurel needed help with math. I could not help her, her Dad did over the phone for hours! Hey, she learned it and did well. It was pre-calculus.
Ability grouping is a tricky thing. I can see advantages and disadvantages on both sides of the question. Haven't seen grouping done based on the state test, though.
I am glad I stuck with my kindergarteners! They were sweeties. My last year was my best year....all were reading by the end of the year! Different levels, but reading!
Power okay here, Jo! Pole hit at Hedgesville Elem.? During school hours or this evening during Little League games? Hi, Lolly. Pre-calculus---yuck! My ex was the math wizard so he always did the assistance there! Had to laugh...he was helping neighbor girl w/ 9th grade Algebra in about 1986....same textbook that I had in '64! G'night again!
Our tests are called the SOL tests. I have mixed feelings about them, too. My seniors should have passed all of theirs for English, though some have not, I am sure. My juniors have to take one in reading, literature, and research.
I hope that tomorrow will be interesting. We get to do hands-on stuff with the computers. My conversation with Lynn gave me some ideas. I do think building confidence is really important. That is something I always try to do when I do test prep classes for the state test or the SAT.
It is always interesting when I run across one of my former high school students as a fellow teacher. We will be working in the same group tomorrow, so I should get a chance to talk with him. He's a football coach and went rushing off to his game when class ended tonight. The folks who were sitting near him said he was sitting there drawing diagrams of football plays. We all know where his mind was!
Lol Yeah, he was not thinking of the class, that is for sure. One of my students came back to help me when she was in high school. She is now married and a pre school teacher. i am sure she is great!
Even though the class did not run as late as it was scheduled, I am glad I took today off. The other teacher who came from Culpeper was about 30 minutes late because there was an accident in town. It's funny . . . I have to allow more time to get to this class on the other side of town than I have to allow to go all the way to Culpeper because of the awful traffic mess around here.
Good Evening! Anyone still awake? I just got home from school, and wanted to let you know that I made it home OK. Tonight's Anatomy test was a real doozie on the Heart & Circulatory System, plus a few questions taken from the test last week, too! Think I did fairly well on it. Sure hope so! Thanks for all your prayers for me! Gotta say, I am really brain weary at this point!
Will try to catch up on the blog in the morning. Need to unwind with some mindless TV and maybe read for a while. I am SO tired right now! Prayers being said for all; have a really GOOD night's sleep, and I'll talk to everyone in the morning. The porch light will see you coming and go on, the night light is on, a flashlight is available, and the eye scanner is enabled. G'night! :o]
Not enough time to catch up on all the comments but:
hope Andrea did well on the test (can't imagine giving students so many tests).
Shirley, I also do not like starting classes early in the a.m. Hope you enjoy the content. What a hoot to have the football coach turn out to be a former student taking an English class. Prayer that Kathryn doesn't get sick.
Margie, yesterday was Friday and today when you wake up it will be Saturday.
Time to wash the sleep away and head out to help with the festival. Nearly all day affair so I'll check in late this afternoon.
Good morning! I really wonder what someone who just drops in thinks when they read all of our comments about the eye scanners, flashlights, etc.
Loaded up the dishwasher this morning. I was lazy yesterday.
I have a little bit of time--not much--until I have to head off to my class.
Crazy paperwork I had to complete to get reimbursement for the class. I was supposed to complete everything and turn it in before the first day of class. One thing I was required to fill in was the grade for the class. Really can't do that before I take the class. It is not even a graded class. I mentioned all of this and the central office lady said, "Iknow. I didn't write the form."
I also had to sign a pledge to teach in the system for 4 more years. I did see a statement that the requirement excluded retirement. I hope so. The worst thing that can happen is they will deduct $279.00 from my pay. Not planning to lose sleep over that possibility.
I have so enjoyed your education discussion---my 2 younger g-k attended montessori school---they did much--much better in school than the 3rd child that didn't get to attend a montessori school!---Do you all agree with that?
packing up here and heading back home....retirement party tonight for one of hubby's co-workers....Kennedy-Kreiger Buddy Walk tomorrow a.m. and football game tomorrow afternoon...
SISSY!---Thanks for the 'BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC' sung by the young girls!!---Go to that site & listen to the US ARMY CHOROUS version!---AWESOME!!--

Good Morning, Everyone! For some reason I find myself awake at 6:30 am, so here I am! It's really weird here this morning--totally fogged in! Can barely see across the street. Guess you could say we have a DEFINITE marine layer today! Wonder what it will be like later--hopefully not humid!
We should have a contest to see who spots the first bird at Finland..whatever it would be, Hooded Crows, Sea Eagles, who knows what has been at the nest for the last month !
Guess I better tackle the day's to-do list, it's a long one. I'll be checking in while I balance my checkbook, better start on that before trying to spend any money.

Hello Sissy:) Beautiful Friday morning here, going back out to cut flowers. Got a monarch chrysalis in my garden that's gonna hatch shortly
Please welcome Bob, aka crunch, to the blog and the Eaglet Momsters Group!
Good to see you Red, will be keeping you in my thoughts for a quick recovery!
And where is motorcycle Bill?
And Indiana Dave?

RED...reading back over comments, I saw where you are having a procedure for gall bladder. I am always amazed at the difference between that procedure now and when I had mine. I was out of commission for 6 weeks, now it is just a matter of days. It WILL be a good birthday present for you, because you will feel much better, physically!! Good luck and God Bless!
Jo, heard from Anne-Marie and she is wondering where we will have lunch. Were you thinking of Rumsey?
She's still not sure of the day and time.
Yes, Wanda - that is what I was thinking - the Rumsey. Mainly since Anne knows where it is but I am opened to any suggestions except Betty's.
As soon as we know the day (hopefully Tues) their names should be sent in an email to NCTC to get on the grounds.
Going over to previous thread to see Red. BRB
Do you think Norma flew down to FL?
Missing Dana for quite a while - Pray all is well.
Want to bring Red's comment over to this thread..............

I don't know how to do the link thing, but you guys have got to listen to this. It was so beautiful, it made me cry!!!!
No can do with Norma since her email
doesn't work! I would hope that she would have posted that she was going to FL if that was the plan---sure hope Davin is doing okay.
Love the penquin cam, Mits! They're so funny!
Red, I hope the surgery goes well for you Monday, what a way to spend your birthday.
Lynn, crunch, not chunky Bob...lol...welcome Bob
just raining a little here now
Lolly, saw the news coverage this morning on the Dallas incident. Yea, cops!!!! Boo dumb kid.
Mighty fancy building Michael works in---if it was the one used in filming Dallas, it must have really been considered way modern back then!

Sissy, love that rendition of a great song!
Went to other thread to get link that Mits gave us...... I'm going to repeat it on this thread.......
Link to Penquin cam
I love watching them - little tuxedo guys!
Yech!
Oops--phone ringing--BRB!
Dana is on FB - Her right eye still can't take the brightness. Is hoping to come to dinner Sat at Open House.
Dana called Norma this morning and spoke to her. She is at home and doing ok.
...Back again.
He is from Greencastle PA
and you remember I used to go up to Tony's Pizza and would invite Suz to come over....
BBIALW...
One of the posters on my cancer blog had her article published, and I would like to share it. If interested, please read:

Thanks!

Jim
Good to know that Dana and Norma are alive and kickin'---both of our silvered ladies! Hope Dana does make it for Sat. dinner. Thanks for update, Jo!
Thanks for that article, Lynn. It is so true. Lung Cancer is not only for smokers!
Good morning to you Jim!
Is your system still out of whack?
Retiring is great but the timing can wear you down.
BBL
That is how Christopher Reeves' wife died from, lung cancer, she was a non-smoker
I agree, Lynn, and no way to get away from stress.:(
Not only that but some stress is necessary and desirable, believe it or not!
Hi, Gang,
Here's a good stress buster--they're feeding the penguins @ the MZ cam!
'Fraid I gotta go study some more for the Anatomy test tonight. Will BBL, if I have a chance. Otherwise, it'll be after school tonight--pretty late for you easterners! Have a great afternoon! :o]
P.S.--Prayers for Ed! Asking for renewal of strength & healing!
Well, I got the gas tank hooked up to the grill---now that grill was cooled off and I could see better in sunlight! Ta-dah!
And stupid gas co. guy turned off big tank when he refilled it this morning...so had to turn it back on and now will have to relight pilot on gas stove.....with forecast of night temps in 30's next week, sure I will have to turn it on.
hello momsters and dadsters
How are you fine peeps?
Hi everyone,
Andrea, good luck tonight.
Hi to everyone I missed.
Later,
Judie
Hi Thelma and Judie! Thelma, hope the dogs all keep you good company this weekend. Anything special planned?
No grilling tonight, Judie...but it's ready for the next time, whenever!
Supposed to rain tomorrow, and probably eating out Sunday, so maybe burgers Monday.
Lunch time here.
Doreen, the lady I have told you about with lung cancer didn't smoke either.
Howdy Tbird!
Heading home then down to Mom's. Hope everyone has a great weekend...catch ya'll on Sunday evening!!
Eagle at BWO.
Later Paula-have a good weekend.
Good evening all! Hi T Bird!
Safe journey Paula and hope you get a large amount of work finished at your mom's.
Caught up on my reading here. Both eagles at BWO now.
Almost ready to eat dinner (really a breakfast meal to some) Ham & dippy eggs!
BBL
Back to work for me.
Mema Jo-I love breakfast dinners.
Me, too, T-bird....and love dippy-eggs!
what are dippy eggs???
off to a meeting-catch ya later
MITS-sunny side up or soft depending on where your from
Good evening!
I was really hoping to open up the Still Cam to an updated view :( :(
xo Good Evening Wishes to Everyone...☺ ♥
And no computer for Ceil, that is a big double Woof !
Yes, Jo, we enjoy it sooo much. Joseph loves for us to come. Jacob is another story. He is so shy. At practice Laurel has to walk him out to the coach. We do not know how he will react to a game. So, until we know that he will actually play, we are not letting him know that we will be there. lol
Almost looks like a turtle shell in the middle of the BWO nest, Jo.....
Hi Lolly - sounds like today and tomorrow both will be much better than yesterday ☺
Hi Margy! Yes, today is much better and tomorrow will be even greater!
Yesterday's news really shook me up. It was just "too close to home!"
PANDA STORY FROM GMA
my boss sent this out....I don't do a.m. shows
Maybe someone will see ISS in their area tonight.
ISS Flyover Schedule
Not here, too cloudy, no ISS, no Moon, and definitely NO MEATBALLS ! :(
TTFN xo
Ya'll have to put your own zip code in there, sorry, I left mine in....Welcome to Martinsburg !
BOO to Naturalist Chris Packham !
DAVIN is home!!!---She called about an hour ago!---Talked with all the grand-kids!!---One HAPPY HOME!!--Even the DOG was happy!---ho!---This has been a long day!----The neighbors & church are helping so much!!---Feel truly blessed!-----Talked with DANA this am--sending my thoughts & prayers to them!---Thanks for all your prayers for DAVIN!--
Oh boy, glad I checked back in.
Thanks Norma! This is very good news ☺ ♥
Lovely, one very large feathery thousand legger in the bathtub...what do I do with it now?
:(
Better than a stink bug I suppose...
I don't like this blog not being able to handle 'conflicting comments' BUT WHEN IT IS NORMA WITH THE DAVIN REPORT - I LOVE IT
I had said: I will try to see ISS just before the PA woods feeder goes off!
Margy: The next 7 days being on call - during those 7 days do you have regular work hours?
My thoughts have been of you all day long Norma! Dana told me she had talked with you so I felt much better. I thought you may have taken a plane ride to FL.. It was so reassuring to hear all their voices!
Hi there to all of you. We live at
exit 3 of I-81 beside car auction.
Packham is an arse. Pox on him!
Norma, what wonderful news!! Know you are greatly relieved.
Lolly, glad you are more relieved today. It was surely traumatic...and all's well that ends well, as Mr. Shakespeare said.
Margy, things went from bad to worse, huh? PLEASE don't get sick!
Mits, back to dippy eggs----so called because you dip you toast into the runny yolk! Mmmmm good!
LOLLY!---OH LORD!---How did you get through that threat on your son's bldg!----So sorry!!!---I just can't imagine how scared you must have been!---will keep you & JACK in my thoughts---& prayers!!--Take care----Love you folks...
need to fix dinner--
JO, the answer is yes....work Mon and Tue 12 hrs off Wed and Thurs then back on Fri for 12 - goofy goofy schedule....I have never gotten anything sick-wise that people bring in, but everyone else does! I'm the oldest one in there, but seem to withstand the germs better than most.
Was trying to move the 1000-legger outdoors but it escaped! So now it is looking for a new home in the bathroom somewhere. Oh well.
I agree, think I speak for all when I say it was good to get word that Norma and Dana are hanging in there !
Bob Crunch -thanks for the Bio, and Welcome Aboard ! Another Dadster....Wahooo !
Off to find a tubby full of bubbles...soak the day away
TTFN xo
Jack and I are going to spray on mosquitoe repellent and have dinner on the patio. We had an absolutely beautiful day. So great to have as day that is cool and clear skies.
Hi Crunch! Good to see you back on here with us. Don't sell yourself short - it is amazing how well we can correctly read misspelled words!
Good to hear about you and family.
Maybe you could plan to come to the Open House at NCTC on Sat 104 Oct 17
in Shepherdstown. The nest is on their
property. Open House is free and they have great exhibits of wild life.
Wow- tough words from Chris Packham. May he be bitten in the arse by a large panda:)
Hi everyone. After dinner and kitchen cleanup.
Sweet eagle dreams to everyone!
Judie
Crunch - that is 10 to 4
I bet you read my type correctly lol
Margy that is a rough schedule for that stressful 911 position you hold down! As a mother of 5 I used to tell all that I didn't have time to get sick
It sure sounds like you are saying the same thing.
Tonight - I think I am going to watch
Medium at 9:00 and maybe Numbers at 10:00.
Anyone else got better ideas?
Lolly I can picture you and Jack eating on the patio and reeking of
mosquito repellent.... However I ♥ to smell citronella....
Margy is the one who brought to us all kinds of different bug repellent and some of it had good odors!
Megan - did you find any hummers in the garden today. Mine has not been around for quite a few days. Ever since the cool nights.
I have had one in the garden all day- but I only saw one...boohoo...
Had to come back quickly. Stink bugs made the D.C. news tonight. Seems Western Maryland, Sheperdstown, is especially infested -- is that a surprise to anyone? Advice, plug all possible openings that allow access, collect them, and dispose. Is that some insight or what?
G'nite everyone. Cheers`!
Judie
Hi, Gang!
Off to school--please say some prayers that I do OK on tonight's test. It's a doozie! Will report back when I get home late tonight...
Thanks! :o]
I like Megan's idea - Collect and send back to China! Stink bugs that is - not pandas...........
I need to do some things before sitting in front of TV
BBL
Hedgie We have good friend's Dick & Janie Fox. They live out 9 in Spruse Pine Hollow west of Hedgesville. B
that was my delete....Washington's NBC and ABC have stories on the stink bugs...tiny url did not work...goodnight everyone
Hey, Crunch..you're close...Providence Church. I live about a mile and a half from there now, and used to live off Mt. Lake and Butts Mill intersection. MemaJo's granddaughter lives on Providence Church now, and so does my guy's daughter.
Good night, Helen.
Did Gene ever work at the Air Guard???
Night Judie and Mits!
My guy is Bill Fox....not sure if related to them or not, but know where Spruce Pine Hollow is for sure!
Stink Bug Story
Hedgie Yes Gene retired from air force there in motor pull. about 30 years. B
Yep, Bob, I know who he is. My ex knew him ...he retired from out there, too, a year ago.
It's a small world, isn't it??
Hedgie He didn't go by the nick name Trigger did he
Hedgie There was trigger and Archie
My ex? No. He was Admin.--printing, library, computer technical services. His name is Carroll Riner.
I think he and Gene have probably known each other since they both enlisted way back when!
But he didn't work in motor pool.
Home from work, time to relax for a bit. Glad that we heard from Norma and Dana.
Norma, so glad that Davin is home already!
Dana, sure hope that eye clears up soon and that Ed finds some relief in breathing.
Hope your day was a peaceful one, Deb, w/o irate customers!
Shirley, are you still up? Enjoy your class tomorrow. What is the topic?
I am still up, Lynn. The topic is teaching literacy in the content area . . . ways to teach students to read in all of their classes. So many of them have trouble reading and it prevents them from learning in all of their courses. This class covers methods to use to help them. Tomorrow we are going to be using computers to research and design a presentation.
How are you this evening?
Deb - you will be happy to see that I am watching Jay Leno...☺
Glad you are back on your roost
Interesting stuff, Shirley. I am totally appalled at the near-total lack of comprehension. Even my own kids...started in a private school and learned to read very well very early...but never comprehended what they read. And now see grands who even in high and middle don't get it unless they read it over and over. Sad situation.
Oh, I'm fine, thanks for asking!
Margy, can't believe you aren't sacked out, gal!
should be polite and say Hello to the evening folks here....hope your class goes well, Shirley, sounds like a good class...
I am having a hard time figuring out what day of the week it is.
Hugh Lowery (sp) from House is on Leno now...never seen the show, yet...but I know folks on here like it!
No wacko's today. The lady got one, though. I felt bad for her, she was on the phone for over an hour with that one call. Yuck-o.
Night everyone.
Middle school is tough for lots of kids.
What's the latest on your furniture? Do you have a firm delivery date yet??
That is a high failure rate!
Tragic family murder in Mt. Airy, MD....so sad.
I really don't know what that statement means, Lynn. . . "It's hormonal . . . "
It is high, isn't it? Aned they didn't all come from the same elementary school, so....makes me think that it was an instructional problem of some kind.
Appears that incident was a murder-suicide.
Oh, good that they found the fabric!! It is so pretty! Yeah, Aug. was a while back! IT's almost Oct.!
She was trying to say that the age and onset of puberty come in to play with how well students perform in school. Well, maybe so, but good educators know how to address those issues and keep kids focused and interested, don't they?
I did want that fabric, and I do want everything in place before my bridge club comes in November. I do not think that is asking too much.
I mean, hormones don't make a kid go brain-dead!!
Yes, I am aware that the hormones are raging in middle school, but that is a part of middle school.
No, hormones don't make them brain-dead.
I also disagree with the way they assign teams---A,B,C---based on West Test scores. So kids already are made to feel that they aren't equal by the grouping, so may have mindset of being inferior and give up trying from the start.
And, yes, good educators have to work around the hormone issues.
West Test--is that your state test?
Hi - I did watch 2 TV shows and enjoyed them both. Listening to some news to see if any new developments in the Mt Airy family deaths.
Hope your power was on all day Lynn
Elementary school closed to no power after car hit pole.
I was wondering if Crunch mentioned any names you would know... Yepper! It is a small world.
I am going to head for the tub, friends. See y'all tomorrow. Prayers for all. Don't forget the lights!
Oh---yes, Shirley, it is. Annually, I think.
My mother was a math teacher. She used to explain geometry over the phone.
I think I am BRAIN DEAD...or is it my HORMONES or lack thereof?
I know...I need sleep!:)
GOOD NIGHT
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
Glad to have heard from Norma & Dana. Call off the Silver Alert;)
Our tests are called the SOL tests. I have mixed feelings about them, too. My seniors should have passed all of theirs for English, though some have not, I am sure. My juniors have to take one in reading, literature, and research.
Shirley, I meant to say that your course sounds interesting.
Nite, Lynn and Wanda!
Know you will be glad when Oct. is over Wanda. I do not remember you working so hard last year. Take care!
Time for me to call it a good day!
Middletown Heritage days tomorrow - I so hope the rain holds off.
Good Night All
Prayers for All
Peace to All
((((Hugs to all)))) ♥
Nite Lolly & Shirley!
Lol Yeah, he was not thinking of the class, that is for sure. One of my students came back to help me when she was in high school. She is now married and a pre school teacher. i am sure she is great!
Nite Jo! Heading that way soon myself. Gotta head to Denton early for those soccer games!
Might as well go ahead and say Good night. Have some clothes to fold and put away before I can crawl into bed.
Nite Shirley! Hope the class turns out well. Always irritating though that you have a class on your day off.
Nite all!
Sweet dreams!
I have to call it a night. I have to go back to class tomorrow morning.
Good night and God bless!

G'night! :o]
Good morning, everyone.
Everyone please have a lovely day!
Judie
Looks like it could be a rainy day.
Must go get ready. Have a good day, everyone!
Very quick visit before leaving fr festival.
Four deer at Okie. Bai and Diego sleeping soundly.
Shirley, I'll give tha A+.
Bye for now.
Judie
I have so enjoyed your education discussion---my 2 younger g-k attended montessori school---they did much--much better in school than the 3rd child that didn't get to attend a montessori school!---Do you all agree with that?

sorry--can't remove the double hit!
oh MEGAN--I haven't had any hummers the past 2 days---
Good Morning, Everyone!
For some reason I find myself awake at 6:30 am, so here I am! It's really weird here this morning--totally fogged in! Can barely see across the street. Guess you could say we have a DEFINITE marine layer today! Wonder what it will be like later--hopefully not humid!
Hot Dog ! Finland back up, Thank You Mits for the Alert !
Save packing, travel and party wishes to you.. !
And two very adult eagles at BWO !
Good Morning everyone
Thanks to Judie for telling me what day it is... ☺
Hope everyone's plans go well rain or shine....lots of outdoor things today...
Morning Andrea, and good for you on all your tests and things.
And Norma = Thankful again for the good news about Davin...♥
Cool! You can watch the leaves falling at Pix Pa
TTFN xo
Hi, Margy,
Went out and took a picture looking diagonally across our front yard. Just had to share the fog with you, it's so unusual! Check this out!
