Thanks, Paula. I have to go buy gas for the mower. Was watching a bunny in my backyard this morning. It was still visible, but I don't want the grass to get so tall I can't see the bunnies.
I hope they will run away. There is one little bunny that doesn't seem afraid of us. It keeps running out from under the back porch. I keep wondering if there is a nest there.
I use my senior citizen status as a reason to mow in short sessions. Make sense to me. And I always start in the front yard just in case I can't do it all. I like to come home to a neatly mowed front yard at least. I figure it keeps the homeowners' association happier, too.
I have not gone poking around too much under the backsteps, but have thought that it's most likely that the bunny is here so often because there is a nest. I put some carrot pieces out--my daughter's basset hound liked them better than the rabbit, though.
I saw a large bid soaring above when I was outside awhile ago. It might have been a hawk, though we have buzzards around here. One afternoon my son and I watched a small cat stalking two huge buzzards who were eating some road kill in the street. The cat was a fraction of the size of the birds. Do not know what that kitty was thinking.
We planted a vegetable garden earlier this spring and our resident bunny made short work of it so we put up a fence around it. The bunny would just stare at the plants through the fence. Hop around to the other side and stare more. I was thinking of doing a Bunny Twitter. It would go something like this:
5:32 AM: Staring at vegetable garden. There must be a way in there. 5:46 AM: Hopped around to the other side. Same problem. 6:07 AM: Still staring. 6:12 AM: Ate some grass. Yuck! 6:17 AM: I hate these people. Why did they do this to me? 6:43 AM: Hopped around the perimeter. No weaknesses detected (yet). 7:12 AM: Jumped straight up in the air to test feasibility of hopping over the top. Ain’t gonna happen. 7:58 AM: Still staring. 8:56 AM: Still staring. 12:23 PM: Still Staring. 1:03 PM: Backed up a few yards and took a run at the fence to see if I could knock it over. Didn’t budge. 1:04 PM: Tried snacking on some different type of grass that comes in a clump. Even worse tasting than the other stuff. 1:04 PM: Did I mention I hate these people? 1:05 PM: Went home to take a nap. 3:22 PM: Came back. Started staring again. 4:07 PM: Checked the perimeter again. 4:09 PM: Checked the perimeter again. 5:13 PM: Still staring. 6:22 PM: I have an idea. 6:23 PM: Checked the perimeter to select the best place to dig. 6:24 PM: Went home to formalize my plan of attack. Tomorrow is a new day.
I have a problem with squirrels and my strawberry plants. (Just a few in a planter.) Rabbits probably could not get to the hanging planter, but squirrels can get to almost anything.
Just want to let you know I'm still around-- have to study like a madwoman for next week's tests. Right now my excuse for being at the 'puter is that I have some keyboard exercises to do for Monday. No Hidey right now-- let me go do Unit 33, and I'll check back.... :o]
Okay Andrea - - -Hope #33 is your lucky number and Hidey is here for you when you get done !
Good Friday Afternoon to EVERYONE Bet Mema Jo is about squeezed to pieces by now ☺ ♥ And I wonder how many gewgaws Hedgie and the girls are gathering up

The hugs that bond family or friends are the bestest things in the world.
My meeting Elizabeth for the very first time was breathtaking! Looks just like her pics and video and has a fantastic personality - that little smirk smile that turns into a giggle with the slightest Hi being said to her! The hug from my Samantha was one that you could feel just how much we miss each other over the miles that separate us. I didn't think she was going to let go - which was ok with me! Her smile was beautiful.
As for the Big Kids - It was so good to hold onto Patrick and know he was safe. Granddaughter Christine and I have always had a Fun Relationship and at lunch we were laughing again!
Jo, I will send you my e-mail address shortly. I have to use my personal computer to send e-mails. My work is kind enough to let me use this laptop for the summer, but the dang thing does not know that I am not at work. It wants to link to my work e-mail and keeps telling me that it can't.
It is a nice new laptop and fun to use except for a few little quirks.
Hi, Margy, I'm done with Unit 33, but although I think I've heard our Hidey dancing on the camera, the rascal is not in the nest right now. Thanks, stronghunter-- you ought to see what's available at a community college near you. I bet they have keyboarding classes available. If not, look for the book I'm using for my class. It's 'Typing for Accuracy, 9th Edition', by Julius Nelson. Has 90 practice units for improving keyboarding skill.
Say, I heard Hidey a minute ago-- I'm sure he's close by. Come on, Hidey! I gotta go do Unit 34! Don't be a stranger!...Oh, well, I'll be back in a bit....
I have to renew my teaching certificate. Was looking at some classes that will do that. Some are filled. One has so few students that it is likely to be cancelled.
Might have to do an online class or maybe drive further than I want to.
...Bob, I love the Bunny Blog, too! Wish I had a bunny in my yard, except the hawks would probably make short work of the little guy.
Jo, I'll be the first to agree with you that there IS Heaven on earth! I'm so happy for you-- you must be near hugged to pieces by now, but isn't it a wonderful feeling?!!!!! Enjoy to the max!
Don't worry, Margy, I'm all ears, and will check back after Unit 34's done. :o]
33 and 34 are two favorite numbers of mine, Andrea, they are the numbers of the ambulances I used to run on when I was active with the Hedgesville Fire Department. Maybe it will bring you some kind of good luck. ☺
Stronghunter, I must be the most fortunate person in SoCal! When the Dean of Admissions found out all the Keyboarding classes were filled, he volunteered to teach me the class I needed! He has another Keyboarding class next door; I come in 1 hour early, he gets me started on the daily assignment, and checks back when the other class has a break. I get to go home early every week, and he's already skipped me into Keyboarding III. I couldn't be happier!
I checked a spot today for Red-Headed Woodpeckers, where I have seen them in years past. No sign of them. Most likely got pushed out of their spot, possibly by Red-Bellieds or some other kind of WP. This is the only spot I have ever seen them here...the other place was in Suffolk Virginia, many years ago. Sigh.
Saw someone once who had guinea pigs in their back yard who were doing an excellent mowing job, though. They also had geese. When the geese squawked, the guinea pigs hid. So the guinea pigs were protected by the geese.
I will go upstairs and log onto my personal computer shortly and link to your e-mail. This computer won't let me do it because it is set up to use my work e-mail.
Ahhhh... Unit 34 is done. I keep hearing Hidey, but the little stinker is hiding up in the tree somewhere. Well, gotta go make dinner now. Will keep checking back-- hope Hidey doesn't decide to be a stranger!
I've been refreshing and fighting a volume problem here today on the cam... Time to get ready for a visitation at funeral home for Fire Department pal...found me a dress out of the closet with an American Eagle Outfitter label...notice these things when you have to iron! See you fine folks later on. Best Wishes and Prayers for a Safe and Happy Evening, and for Wellness all around. xo ☺ ♥
Happy to see Hidey make an appearance. Didn't stay long. Was calling out for dinner but it didn't arrive. Hidey flew off and as far as I can tell, is sitting on a limb/branch directly behind the branch at 12 o'clock.

It looks like something is in the OK nest. I just got here and read recent messages. Is an adult there?
It's a fish, Shirley
I know somebody said the adult flew by with a fish.
So the adult left a fish there for the kid?
Eaglet at BWE
Yup, then returned to the tree in the field w/ Mom...Kid was on lower branch, but took off again!
OK Eaglet back in parents tree
So the camera went to the nest to wait for the eaglet to return to nest. Someone has been working hard with that camera recently.
I just refreshed, so now I see the tree.
Parents above on the left. Eaglet below on the right?
Yuppers.
Breezy there today!

At least they'll run away when you start up the mower!

Am back with gas. Going to have to resume mowing soon. I try to do it in short stints.
I have found rabbit nests before. We had little baby bunnies everywhere one summer.

Hidey just lit in the nest.
Shirley - I have bunies nest in the yard too!
Hidey in the nest!
That was a short visit.
Oh no, did he leave already...
Maybe he heard us talking about bunnies....LOL
Figured he had to go find one, too.
I have had bunnies nest in the grass in my yard before, too. They love the black eyed susan's out front...they nest all in my bushes out front.
I have not gone poking around too much under the backsteps, but have thought that it's most likely that the bunny is here so often because there is a nest. I put some carrot pieces out--my daughter's basset hound liked them better than the rabbit, though.
I expect Hidey and his / her parents would make short work of a bunny.
Hidey has certainly improved his / her flying skills.

Great commentary! xo ☺

I do not think I would do well at keyboard exercises.
Have been working on capturing pictues I can put on my blog. Downloaded a program. Now to figure out how to manage it.

The bunny showed up again. Didn't run until I got really close. It was munching on the grass; too bad it can't finish off the mowing job for me.
Bob's Bunny would probably help you out Shirley ☺
I hear a red-bellied woodpecker
Heard the horn honk...

Bob's bunny doesn't like grass. He wants the veggies in the garden.
Ha Ha, Steve is giving us another day again. It's "Only Thursday."
But I'm sure the TGIF'ers know different !
There's our Hidey again...putting in his fish pizza order for Friday night...
You're right about that...Paula...
good point! Happy Friday to you !
Say, I just had a brainstorm! What you guys that have to mow all the time need is a pet goat!
Shirley - didn't get any email from you!
That's really great, Andrea.
I've considered e-mailing the professor of one of the classes that looks interesting. I do have to make a decision soon, though. The summer is short.
Paula, I will try again. I am interested in joining the Momster's group.
