Oh Lolly when we rented that Big RV and drove it to Boca Raton, Florida. I loved that house on wheels. I could just keep on traveling in that. The best sleep I ever had was in that RV. Had our animals right with us. Life was full of adventure around each turn ( : I didn't mind driving it either. I went right through Jacksonville and Ed slept through it. hee hee
Sharon, I looked up Kure Beach and it looks like a good place for me and Capt. Soretush to go. Have you been there? Would there be parking large enough for the Eagle Express at the pier?
Dana, you were asking about a website where you can see your house. The one I mentioned is Google Earth. You download it on your computer (free download). You can type in the name of a place and it will zoom right to it. The pictures aren't live, but it is still very interesting. I had been trying to find the Hidey's nest, and finally did find it.
For some places, you can go to street view and go down your street and see your house. Those pictures aren't live, either, of course.
I do go on Trafficland sometimes to help my children get through I-95 traffic. That is live. Once, I was helping my daughter and was able to tell her they were just taking out the traffic cones. Then I saw her car go through.
It's not in every city, but is in lots of places. She was on her cell phone and had called to ask me to help her decide if she should stay on I-95 or get off. I looked at the road ahead of her and watched men come out and remove the cones, so I told her they'd just cleared the roadblock. It was really cool to watch her drive through.
The Google Earth site is really fun. I could see the tomato plant in my back yard.
It is still pictures, but it starts out with the whole earth, and you type in what you want to see and it zooms in on it. I typed in something like "eagle nest, NCTC, Shepherdstown, WV," and it zoomed right to the nest.
It did show two different places for the nest, but I knew that the one we are watching is next to a barn, and I saw the barn. If you click on the icon near the nest, you can actually see photographs someone has taken. One is a beautiful one with a sunset or sunrise behind the tree.
I tried to copy it and put it in my blog, but I have not learned how to do that yet.
llymcGood evening, Eaglelanders! Haven't finished reading the blog yet. Thanks for all Birthday wishes for my 90 yr. old Momma. It was a good par-tee! I'm beat....and ready to hit the tub as soon as the news is over. Luckily, no more rain today...last night was awful...heard the tornado warnings for Norma's area on the weather alert scanner...glad to hear that she was spared. Also glad that our Hidey didn't get washed away!
Dana, I went back to the Google Earth site. Most of the pictures there were taken by Joel Deluxe. I had to enter "eagle cam," not "eagle nest." It looks like there was a camera set-up some distance from the nest at one time, and that is what it is showing.
No, it is still pictures. If you want to see your house, you type in your address, but it will be an older pictue. Sometimes they are very clear, sometimes not as clear. I do not want to think there is a camera up there watching my house live, to tell you the truth. I would be more particular about that than Hidey is.
Wanda, tell Gene that I hope he heals quickly w/o too k8uch discomfort. My friend John that you all have prayed for is finally improving....off ventilator, and out of the medically induced coma...talking up a storm, his wife says!!! Thanks, dear friends...our prayer chain works SO WELL! Found out that my youngest SIL is having back surgery on Mon. Hate to hear that any0one is going through that, but being only 38 makes it worse! Has a herniated disc that has not responded to any other treatment. he can't stay on light duty....and firefighters have to be able to lift and carry a lot of weight, so.....hopefully everything will be a success. To tub and bed I go. See you sometime tomorrow! Prayers for all, and, again, thanks for EVERYTHING you say and do!! Love you gals and guys.

Well, how cool is that! Our beautiful parents at the nest!!!!
That did not last long! But one adult still there.
We are going to eat at Nona Tattas. It is an Italian Restaurant in Fort Worth. Seats only 14 people inside, a few more outside. Through a window into the kitchen you can see the chef cooking......real Itatlian food. Not delivered, but prepared by her! Yummy!!!!!!

UPDATE FROM CALTRANS NEST......Patriot, Liberty and the Eaglets.....Friday, June 19, 2009 These photos from Wednesday, June 17, 2009 show two of the juveniles on the nest and one of and adult. There was one feeding about yesterday afternoon around 12:25 p.m. An adult brought a fish up to nest, ate some of it and left it there for the juveniles to find.
Discussions are currently being held regarding the camera and public feed for next season. The current camera was put in place to monitor the birds during construction and the effects it may have on the birds. Caltrans was fortunate to be able to make the video public, but the original system was not designed for that purpose. With that in mind, officials are meeting and discussing a better and more reliable system for not only the required monitoring, but for public viewing as well.
Morning all:) Gewgaw, now that is a new one to me.... Anyway, posted some pics of this mornings harvest on my blog, under Flowers of course. Disregard the lettuce in one pic, that's not for mkt., that's for dinner:) Rain headed at us, looks like it maybe raining here in an hour or so.
MEGAN---Just read a new--"KEEP DEER AWAY"---involves milk on plants---have directions if you are interested----It is from a farmers column published in paper! This is a good site-----****
ps -- GREAT FLOWERS---thanks for sharing them with us---
Someday I hope to grow more flowers and veggies. I have a few, but it seems that the time I should be plantinb is so busy at work that I can't do it all. So, for now, I will just enjoy looking at yours, Megan.
Norma, I see the osprey mom back on the nest. I had to shut down everything for awhile so I could download something, so I have not been watching for a little while.
Looks like I need to get out and mow some grass today before storms come again.
Osprey is looking right at me now. She is a beautiful bird.
I can usually coax my son into mowing the back yard if I get things started by mowing the front and at least parts of the sides. I bought a key-start mower. One thing I have never been able to do is start one of those pull-start things.
Thanks all:) Norma, you are too kind, way too kind.... I've heard the milk recipe, thanks, lots of people are talking about it this year. Sticking with electric fence, and hot pepper spray here. And my trusty BB gun. careful, or....You'll shoot your eye out....
Rain has shifted, and looks like it might just miss us. Thank goodness. Going to water GH and get some outside work done, then I'll make those flowers into bouquets with my magic wand. POOF!
Good afternoon... It has been a beautiful morning for working in the garden. I have picked peas, lettuce, green beans and a basketfull of gewgaws:) Sweat is dripping on my gewgaws, so I thought I'd better come in.
Lawn is mowed! I took only one tumble. Duh! Was edging the patio, bent over to pull something, tripped and went sprawling on the bricks. Skinned my elbow and bruised my hip, injured my pride! BUT worst of all injured my Hawaiian Ti plant, broke off a couple of leaves and hope that is all the damage. Time will tell.
GA GIRL .......Jack graduated from Tech in 1962, got his Masters in 1963.
I'll bet Jo has had a thousand hugs by now! She has never seen Elizabeth, the 1 year old, so that is going to be extra special for her. Bless that Military Family.
Wanda....I am jealous of your vegetable garden. We used to have a beautiful garden. Our trees have become too big and we no longer have enough sun to have a vegetable garden. Oh, I planted three tomatoe plants this year but they need more sun.
Lolly, that is the worst thing that can happen when you are gardening. It's like breaking a child's limb! GeeGee bought some tomatoes to plant yesterday and when she got home, the top had broken off one of the plants...she was devistated. She said "I paid extra money to get a plant ready to bloom and now the bloom is gone!"
Our grandchildren's favorite veggie is the potato, for obvious reasons. They didn't know they came from under the plant:) Our daughters always knew how things grew because they both came from the cabbage patch;)
LOL Our neighbors back then had a herd of cattle. He would bring in a few steers to fatten. Laurel would climb the fence to feed them hay. Jack had bales of hay to mulch the tomatoes. She even named them and they would come running when she climbed the fence. We never told her why they were there or where they went. Saved that for when she was grown.
Thanks Lolly, I have a cousin that graduated Tech, but can't remember what year. I will have to ask him. He is a couple years older than me. He went on to get his Doctrine degree, so it was probably middle 60's. Just thinking that their paths may have crossed.
I have checked out everyone's pictures. We have some talented people on this blog! Lunch is just about over. I had to unpack my new phone and get it charging. I will have to read the book later.

Dana, tell Ed I said HI:) so sorry to hear he is feeling so bad.
My eagle is gonna land in your tree, Jo!

You're right Jo, where did it go. Did Spidey take it down?
I didn't see what happen to spidey's web either. hummmmm
Thanks Megan...you be careful in all that mud. Don't want you sinking with no one to pull you out.
LOL, did ya'll notice that Steve renamed our second Wednesday to Thursday? Ya'll just lost a day!
I HADN'T BEEN WATCHING THE WEB
I thought maybe Hidey came in but
I don't see any bird in the nest.
Nope, it wasn't Hidey that did it.
I wonder when Steve did that?
He had me checking out the calendar as I was signing in this morning.
Well, darn, now I'm a day behind...
I did get a boot stuck in the mud today, Dana:) stepped right out of it.
Looks like Finney is tenting over the osprey chicks. Mits said something about rain but they don't look wet.
Spidey may have gone down to BWO
I got lost in the split. I am tired tonight, so I am headed off to read for awhile.
Night everyone!
Oh Megan I just knew something would happen to you with all that mud.

Sharon I'm slow sometimes....!!!!!!!! 6 DOGS !!!!!!!!! You need a vacation!!
Sharon, I looked up Kure Beach and it looks like a good place for me and Capt. Soretush to go. Have you been there? Would there be parking large enough for the Eagle Express at the pier?

Didn't know about that cam, Shirley. Seeing your daughter's car was cool!
Going to call it a night, too. I'm beat. Catch ya'll in the morning.

I am not far behind ya!
Wanda - is the Capt still not feeling much pain or discomfort?
Jo, Capt. Soretush is feeling no pain, just sore. He is NOT being a whiner like he could be;) I'm taking good care of him anyway!
Shirley does earth.google.com refresh or is it the same picture for like a month?
I think that was cool about seeing your daughter going through the traffic.
Good to hear that about the Capt!
You and Ceil need to start the Nightingale Club - my hubby would need to be a member!
I need to put this computer to bed!

UPDATE FROM CALTRANS NEST......Patriot, Liberty and the Eaglets.....Friday, June 19, 2009
These photos from Wednesday, June 17, 2009 show two of the juveniles on the nest and one of and adult.
Hope they keep the webcam on...

Morning all:)
Gewgaw, now that is a new one to me....
Anyway, posted some pics of this mornings harvest on my blog, under Flowers of course. Disregard the lettuce in one pic, that's not for mkt., that's for dinner:)
Rain headed at us, looks like it maybe raining here in an hour or so.
just beautiful, Megan
OK eaglet is sitting on a small tree in the water again.
That had to be fog I saw earlier this morning, but it looked so strange. Guess it was so thick that it shut out the light and looked black.
Adult has left the Finney nest. I see one baby sitting up. They have grown.
B.E.A.U.T.FUL MEAGAN.. hmmm. I'll take one of each.. thank you every much...
Beautiful flowers, Megan.
MEGAN---Just read a new--"KEEP DEER AWAY"---involves milk on plants---have directions if you are interested----It is from a farmers column published in paper!
This is a good site-----****
ps -- GREAT FLOWERS---thanks for sharing them with us---
SHIRLEY---OSPREY MOM---back on 'LITTLE ONES'---missed again!
Someday I hope to grow more flowers and veggies. I have a few, but it seems that the time I should be plantinb is so busy at work that I can't do it all. So, for now, I will just enjoy looking at yours, Megan.
HEY KIDS!----MEGAN is just as beautiful as her flowers----
Norma, I see the osprey mom back on the nest.
Finney bird off nest again. Can see little ones.
Thanks SHIRLEY!!---this MOM always looks a wee bit wind-blown---ho!---I agree they are beautiful birds---fun to watch too!!
POOF!
FINLAND OSPREY---feeding her young----The 3 'LITTLE ONES'--certainly blend well with their nest---& that's a good thing---ho!
Good afternoon...
It has been a beautiful morning for working in the garden. I have picked peas, lettuce, green beans and a basketfull of gewgaws:)
Sweat is dripping on my gewgaws, so I thought I'd better come in.
MEGAN--I thought you may have heard them all--ho!---
Don't forget to click you magic slippers ONCE before you ZAP the bouquets together!!
My favorite picture of Laurel was when she was about two. She was clutching a bouquet of carrots that she had just pulled. It is an adorable picture.
Same thing has happened to us, Lolly. One half of the garden is shaded most of the day now, so we jus plant half a garden. That is really all we need.
I am thankful I did not bust the pot it is in, or break the plant in two, which I thought I had done.
We used to have corn, tomatoes, potatoes, green beans, lima beans, squash, orkra, lettuce and potatoes. Oh, I loved those new potatoes!
Our grandchildren's favorite veggie is the potato, for obvious reasons. They didn't know they came from under the plant:) Our daughters always knew how things grew because they both came from the cabbage patch;)
Forgot....black eye peas and carrots. And, we had the biggest black berries on the back fence.
We have a beautiful bunch of raspberries growning on our fence (wild berries) but, I don't like raspberries. Love blackberries.
Gotta wash the sweat out of my hair. BBL
I love raspberry jelly!
I am sitting here clean. Already showered and washed my hair. Hey, Wanda.....can picture you with a towel around your hair. LOL Love ya!
Just heard an eagle our nest...probably landed in the tree.
Our lovely Hidey just arrived!
OK scanning for eaglet...
Hidey in the nest!!!
Shoot! He just took off!
Thanks Lolly, I have a cousin that graduated Tech, but can't remember what year. I will have to ask him. He is a couple years older than me. He went on to get his Doctrine degree, so it was probably middle 60's. Just thinking that their paths may have crossed.
OK back to adult in tree in the field
Feeding time for the Heron family...cute
BBL. Must take care of yardwork.
Still scanning for our OK sooner...
Cool, OK adult just landed with a fish...thought I saw him go by on the wide view...looks like Dad
Lil Okie better hurry, Dad might have that fish for lunch himself!
OK Dad left, fish in the nest.
Fair Warning!!!
Split is a coming...
I have checked out everyone's pictures. We have some talented people on this blog! Lunch is just about over. I had to unpack my new phone and get it charging. I will have to read the book later.
Here comes a split!
