Does he want to blog with us....roflmbo.....no Ceil will not see the thunderbirds, think one was just passing thru the other day, taking someone for a ride.
Good morning everyone! Just a rainy dreary day here, soI'll probably be on the computer some today. I couldn't get on last night, but in reading back, it looks like I wasn't the only one.
hubby just called, said guess where we are?...I said in the parking lot, and he said, no, we are in the Starbucks parking lot in Bethesda.....seems the AZ friends are still on AZ time:)...so they will be here this afternoon sometime....told them to take there time weather is not all that great for the beach.
Steve thank you for the new thread. WOW he likes our eagle cam. Contributions Secretary of the Interior please and ... thank you ( :
Deleted from other thread and brought over here: I just love all these Bunny stories. tee hee bunny chasing a german shepherd. Daughter had a bunny that was suppose to stay small. It grew and grew and grew..one day we realized its ear where sticking out of the cage. Got a bigger cage and it still grew. Gave it to an older friend. Got her one that did stay smaller. Then she became allergic to it. Found a wonderful girl scout that entered her into yourth fairs. It won a lot of blue ribbon.
Never have heard a growling wabbit...that would be something to run from.
Good Morning Wanda
Again but the right years not 43rd but 44th HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO LOLLY AND JACK.
Need to catch up on some comments. Want to see about Mema Jo and her wonderful family from Germany.
Sunny it is Saturday, hubby likes to get to the bridge by 7:30 a.m., this year more people coming in on the weekends. The have had record crowds since April.
I would live to go kayaking with Deb! Someday I'll get back to SD, and I'll have to look her up!
Dana, EZ Pass is an electronic way to pay tolls, billed to your credit card, so you can get through the toll booth much quicker. They usually have some special lanes for them. Much faster than paying cash. You have a little transponder in you car that can be 'read' at the toll booth.
EZ Pass allows you to go thru without stopping to pay, works up and down the east coast for bridges and tunnels..you have your own lanes to pass thru, some are EZ Pass only. Just set up your account and it keeps a certain amount of money for the tolls
South Dakota IS BEAUTIFUL. There are so many different things to see that aren't in our little corner of the world. We stopped at the S.D. Welcome Center/Rest Area and one of the attendents told us of some interesting sights and places to go and gave us a map and marked out a route. We loved it! Even loved the Badlands, which I didn't think we would.
MORNIN' MEMA JO!---I bet you haven't come back down from 'CLOUD 9' yet!!----I AM SO VERY HAPPY FOR YOU----I can only guess how you feel!!!--ENJOOOOY!----LIFE IS GOOD!
Nothing special planned today - tomorrow is a get together at the park for welcoming the Germany Gang & for Father's day! There are so many things and relatives/friends to see during the short time they are here that I'll just need to butt right in on them! lol No pics yet to post
I contacted GOOGLE BLOGGER HELP last night, and although they didn't know what was going on, were sympathetic. They emailed me this morning, right after Deb, and let me know that the blog was working. I also emailed Steve. So, I don't know wherein laid the problem, but glad it is fixed. We could of all had a nervous breakdown;)
Actually, Norma, I was reminded by your comment, shortly before mine. [:~D] Good morning.
Dana, the weather is typical "June Gloom" stuff. Overcast and 65-66°, but it will burn off and warm up to about 73° in the P.M.
I'm not too sure where S. Gate is anymore, but I bet I've been somewhere near there in South L.A. years and years ago. I could always get out the old AAA maps.
These days, if I go anywhere, it's driving up into the mountains. I used to like to drive to the beach or around the area, but the beach is totally gridlocked in the summer nowdays.
Funeral today for Margy's friend that was in Hedgesville Fire Company. Just realized who the guy is. Some just stopped in here before funeral. Ed's nephew (has seveal) boy JD (also with fire dept.) and the man that past his son is JD's cousin.
While catching up on comments. I just ran across Bob Quinn's "Bunny Twitter" as he called it on Fri. June 19 at 4:52pm. Oh this is so great. I am laughing so much ( : Thank you Bob I needed those laughs. PLEASE PLEASE BOB DO A SEQUEL.
Hello Hello from Wonderful, Wet Patuxent! ☺ Just saw what I guess is Hidey behind the lens smudge! Happy WV Day & Happy Anniversery to Lolly and Jack! Our father osprey on the cam here brought in the brightest orange fish I've ever seen this AM. Must have raided someone's goldfish pond. Whole family feasted and now there's a whole lot of wingercising going on! Will have to post another pic tonight.
The eagles can't smell, and they are known to eat much older fare than that, Hunter. Must have cast iron stomachs. But that is one way they survive, so I can't knock it too badly.
All three fledglings are at NBG, but one just flew to a branch behind the spider web.
I'm going to whisper that I just saw a little daylight for the first time...sshhhhh.....
P.S. On trivia.. I read back about the trinkets Hedgie's sister was going to get at the museum & I always thought they were geegaws?! At least that's how it sounded when the folks called items that. Didn't do a Spellcheck! LOL
BTW, don't know if anyone heard on local news from DC area yesterday about a "flash flood" type occurrence on the Patuxent River. There is a large group of kayakers travelling down the river on a week long trip & water rose so quickly north of here where it's narrow, that a few capsized or could only find trees & no shore on which to land. All were rescued & OK, so their trip continues.
Wild wind gust down there today, sometimes nothing, then really blowing. Hidey looked like he tried to take off from the 2 o'clock area a couple times and got blown back in,he moved to the 4 o'clock area and flew out. The camera seems to be having a hard time with it also.
I am home from Kayaking. We had a beautiful day on the River. It was so beautiful I decided to go for a short swim. Not really, stepped into the river, right on a slippery rock and in I went.
Good Afternoon - just got home from visiting the Ger Gang! They are headed off to a relative's wedding on Pat's side. Happy to see that the OK juvie found his way across the water onto his nest. Didn't see any food there so bet he doesn't stay long.
Going to get my 3:00 cup coffee and then get ready for Mass. Loretta, I did see that on the news last night about the swollen river and the upsets for the kayakers. Thankful no one was injured.
Robert Like you when I signed into Duke Farms this late am, I just got the "Off the Air" message. I had watched yesterday for a long while - seemed to be a lot of rain then. I sure like it when you can see a message but they do have it on during the weekends - right?
Hi, Everyone, Golly, Steve-- the Secretary of the Interior?! Bet he's already hooked.
Just have to get away from the medical books for a minute or two-- my widdow brain is fried right now...
Guess what?! I have an absolute miracle to report! Hubby bought a 'Lavender Trumpet Vine' from Home Depot on May 16th. I put it in filtered sun, which the tag says it likes, (sun to shade), and watered it, 'cause it was dry as a bone. I swear, within 3 days it was dried up and dead as a doornail... Since their stuff has a year warranty, I put it around the side of the house, by my compost tub, in full, harsh afternoon sun, and left it there. I had to find the receipt to return it. It has not had a drop of water from me since 5/19. I remembered to look for the receipt today, and when I went to retrieve the vine, I found that it has several beautiful green shoots coming out on it! New little leaves appearing among the old dried up dead ones! So I've cut off all the dead parts, and watered and fed it, and we'll see what happens! Can you imagine my surprise?!
So Mr.Salazar is also watching the NCTC cam! everybody is watching those WV eagles! Here's the nest weather right now, Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph....
We have our very own reality show going here--is it "Liberty and Belle + 1," Survivor," or maybe "American Idol"? Hidey is quite the performer, but then S/he's also a survivor.
How exciting to see the OK eaglet in the nest. He is sprawled out and looking exhausted. Well, that just makes my day. LOL
Well, we are packed. OMG Packing for meals for 5 is certainly different than packing for Jack and myself. The refrig and the pantry are bulging in the trailer. We are meeting Laurel and the boys at the wedding tomorrow. After the wedding at 2:oo, going to Michael and Ashley's for pizza. Then home to load Laurel's stuff. We will be taking off around 6 on Monday morning. But we are packed.
Lolly, you remind me of the times we packed our trailer and took off on trips. It was a lot of work. Eventually, when we took lots of weekend trips, I had stuff I kept there. It helped, but there was still so much to do.
Oh,yes, it is hard work to get ready especially when you doing the unusual like packing to feed others as well. HOWEVER, the next 10 or so days will be heaven!!
If there is sound at the OK site, I have not heard anything. There is a volume control. I will be watching to see if the OK eaglet has tantrums or chases parents out of the nest.
Wanda is right. You can upload a lot of pictures in a short time. I am not sure why Blogger is so slow, I wonder if my pictures are too large of files.
My son downloaded something called IrfanView. You can copy and paste pictures from the screen on that. I have been working with it. I have been able to get that picture of the three little Finney babies on it from the first day we saw them.
Eventually, I will learn how to post them on my blog.
DEB, what an exciting day you had! Your photos are sooo interesting...everyone of them. I have never seen an oriole nest, much less one with an oriole in it! So glad you are still finding time for your adventures:)
I had seen nests before, Wanda, but never one with a bird on it. I hadn't ever seen a Barn Owl either, that was really cool. I am just about done with CA pictures. There are some fun pictures there, too.
Hi all. I( was so tired, thought I would konk out in front of TV. But had to check nest. Hear some squeals, but Hidey won't come down in the nest :>( Saw Spidey, too! Hidey needs to come down & chase him away!
I know Picasa is connected w/Google somehow, as our avatar pics are in albums there, but I haven't figured out how to get all my Greece pics on it & connect it to blog. I know there is a way to imbed one pic as the start, but I haven't found the instructions yet.
That's OK, Deb, I guess I need to find some time to look for directions from them. Wanda & Gene have done some albums. I haven't edited all the pics yet either. My daughter just sent me more when they used just their camera---my batteries were konking out.
Awhile back when I was on blogspot & it mentioned Picasa albums, I went there & it said something about having access to all of My Pictures in order to attach some!!! That scared me---I don't want the whole world to have access to my stuff!
Deb - love all your newly posted pics. Especially the Sudsy Fountain! Seriously I just don't know how you spot so many different things to photograph in the name of Nature!
I must learn how to do the slideshows and embed captions on the photos...there are tons more wildflowers I expect to photograph this summer ☺ Spent 12 hours today taking a class, don't have much steam left. Good to come home to a blog that is working, and to read about everyone's day, including Deb's little swim. So glad you had the opportunity to get out in the kayak, Deb.
Hi Wanda, I learned some things. Class was about Incident Management Systems, for emergency events, Homeland Security things and organization and all that. An awful lot of duplicity spread out over 12 hours but at least it's done. Totally necessary concept though.
Capt. Sorebutt is doing very well. He's driving now (don't think he likes my driving;) Still sore, but no pain. I wish he would whine so I could baby him a little, but he's not doing that:(
Hello!! Haven't caught up on blog yet. Weather had satellite down for most of the evening. Wanted to say Happy Anniversary to Lolly and Jack, as well as happy WV day to all you 'eers before the day ends!
I'm sure Mits is either busy w/ company or already in bed, but heard there was a tornado in OC...and also one in Baltimore----hope Ceil and MM and Mits are all okay! Water spouts also seen in Chesapeake Bay! What strange weather everyone has been having!
Dana, agree with your unspoken sentiments about the murderer. See that he is still listed as critical. Also see that when he tried the escape he ran into locked doors and then attempted to take a gun from the officer, which apparently was when the other one shot him.
Lolly, forgot to say that I was so sorry about your fall....hope you aren't too stiff and sore. You better not make this a habit!!! That's two!! Loretta, saw the story about the kayakers----they were lucky! saw a lot on the Shenandoah this evening coming into CharlesTown, and thought about you!!
Seems like I'm talking to myself!! Sorry I scared everyone off! LOL!! Loved your pics, Deb. Jim....bet Deb would let you use the roadrunner for your avatar!!! Good night all. Peaceful sleep and prayers for all in need. Praise to THE Father on this special day.
P.S. Do you actually have Roadrunners back there?? I think they are a Southwestern bird, perhaps.
We had some in the Del Mar and surrounding area when I was growing up. There were only a few, at large intervals, but if you passed that way in the daylight hours, you would have a very good chance of seeing one run across the road in front of you. Unlike rabbits and cats, they would cross well ahead of you and cross very quickly.
Was interested in the mention of milkweed plants. I learned to look for milkweed plants when we lived in Ohio and my children were learning about monarch butterflies.
Monarchs lay their eggs on the milkweed plants. The caterpillars feed on the milkweed and the poison in the plant protects the adult butterfly. Any animal that eats one monarch won't eat another one because it makes it so sick.
I thought I saw some milkweed along the road near here. I wanted to stop and look for monarch eggs.
My two older children learned about monarchs in kindergarten. The teacher had a big net in the classroom. The children brought in milkweed with eggs attached, and they raised lots of butterflies and set them free. It was a wonderful project.
Might have been "shift change" there Shirley, I think the Dad was the one doing the feeding when I first opened it up.
The baby Goshawks in Scotland are raising a ruckus! Parent came in and stole a juicy morsel off the nest. They have been off the nest some. It is a very noisy site when they are squawking ! Goshawk Nest Scotland

JIM, the beach is not a good place to go anymore, unless you like to rollerskate or go half naked;) SOOO CROWDED!
Yeah, Wanda, that might be the answer. I'll make a few passes through the area, naked and on skates...... Get the picture.

lucky ducks:).....
FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The Red River Zoo in North Dakota has welcomed a rare new set of red panda triplets.
The new babies are two females and one male. They were born June 11 at the zoo in Fargo.
Zoo executive director Paula Grimestad said triplets are rare for red pandas and are especially welcome because the animals are considered endangered.
The zoo's panda keeper, Marcy Thompson, says it's been 10 years since the last Chinese red panda triplets were born in the Western Hemisphere.
Unlike the bear-like giant pandas, red pandas resemble raccoons with long bushy tails.
Awwww I bet they are so cute
Does anyone else see the shadow of Hidey riding the wind on a branch? The shadow of Hidey/Miracle is showing in the nest.
Good idea, Dana...a sequal to Bob's Bunnie Tales:)
Such a talented man...he can make us smile with his photos and make us giggle at his Twitters.
Hidey just flew in
I'll check back in later. Poor body aches everywhere from those oxygen bottles. Need a pill and a nap.

They either fed the boy or he's found something left over.
It's blowing hard there now.

Hello Hello from Wonderful, Wet Patuxent! ☺ Just saw what I guess is Hidey behind the lens smudge!
Happy WV Day & Happy Anniversery to Lolly and Jack!

Hi All; anyone with info on the Duke Farms Cam? Cam been off air since I signed on at 11AM today
Might have been nestovers from this morning--I think there was more than one fish then. Hidey was eating in the same position at breakfast time.
Bet leftover fish is pretty ripe after lying in that sun for several hours.
Looks like it is hard to take off in that wind.
The eagles can't smell, and they are known to eat much older fare than that, Hunter. Must have cast iron stomachs. But that is one way they survive, so I can't knock it too badly.
All three fledglings are at NBG, but one just flew to a branch behind the spider web.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
I don't know if he's better off in the nest or latched on to a branch in a high wind like that.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
Yes, I think they sometimes eat carrion, which would be about the same at nestovers, actually.
Well, Hidey took off. Hoe s/he can handle that wind. It seems really gusty.
My cam froze, and by the time I got it restarted, Hidey had flown the nest.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
I'm going to whisper that I just saw a little daylight for the first time...sshhhhh.....

I saw that story about the kayakers, Loretta. It is good that they were all rescued.
You should do a google on the word "geegaw" or "gewgaw"!! Listen to the pronunciations, you won't believe them.
Anyway, the only way I ever heard was "jee-jaw" and I think it sounds much more appropriate that way.
C(°ٿ°)D
Jim
I'm out of here for a while, folks. Later.

I am home from Kayaking. We had a beautiful day on the River. It was so beautiful I decided to go for a short swim. Not really, stepped into the river, right on a slippery rock and in I went.
Our eagle nest really is famous! :)
Good afternoon everyone. Lazy day in Bluefield today. I don't have to work any this weekend. I am so grateful!
Maybe if he watches enough, he will help fund a new and better camera!
I am going to wash off the river and the sand. Pictures are downloading.

Good Afternoon - just got home from visiting the Ger Gang! They are headed off to a relative's wedding on Pat's side.
Happy to see that the OK juvie found his way across the water onto his nest. Didn't see any food there so bet he doesn't stay long.
Sorry about the slip, Deb! Hope you only got wet and didn't scrape up your arms/legs!
Sharon! What time are you going out to walk all those dogs?
Going to get my 3:00 cup coffee and then get ready for Mass.
Loretta, I did see that on the news last night about the swollen river and the upsets for the kayakers. Thankful no one was injured.
Robert Like you when I signed into Duke Farms this late am, I just got the "Off the Air" message. I had watched yesterday for a long while - seemed to be a lot of rain then. I sure like it when you can see a message but they do have it on during the weekends - right?
Jo, I only got wet! The water is still cold, we haven't had a normal weather year to warm it up. So all I got was a cold dip in the water.
Deb - Rocks are like floors -
Slippery when wet
lol
The OK eaglet looks tired.

Hi Mema Jo; As far as I know their on during the wk ends, I'm pretty sure I've been there on a wk end. Their last post was June 2nd.
We have our very own reality show going here--is it "Liberty and Belle + 1," Survivor," or maybe "American Idol"? Hidey is quite the performer, but then S/he's also a survivor.
That is one flopped eaglet in OK nest.
OK eaglet on bar.
How exciting to see the OK eaglet in the nest. He is sprawled out and looking exhausted. Well, that just makes my day. LOL

Sounds like Hidey is approaching.
Oh,yes, it is hard work to get ready especially when you doing the unusual like packing to feed others as well. HOWEVER, the next 10 or so days will be heaven!!
I have been trying to get pictures loaded on blogger for a while, but finally gave up. It is so slow today. I am loading them into Picassa instead.
OK eaglet up on the bar now. Wonder if he will fly off or spend the night in the nest.
We have been talking about a family reunion for next summer in Colorado. It would be at a place called Eleven Mile Canyon.
This is the second time I've seen him on the bar today.
This is the second time I've seen him on the bar today.
Rain at the nest.
I wonder if Hidey sees something that makes him / her squeal like that or if Hidey just likes to make an appearance.
Are other eaglets so loud when approaching the nest?
I think eagles are all different, some quiet, some talkative. I do think they probably all make noise when getting their dinner, though.
good night everyone...
Good night, Mits.
Shirley, I can't remember our eaglets from last year making so much noise. Hidey is one crazy child!
Deb, what is Picassa?
Good Night Helen. You'r going to be HEALTHY, WEALTHY AND WISE;)
Picasa is a site where you process and store your photos.
Pictures from today are on Deb's Photo's. I still need to get my pictures from CA loaded, too.
And, you can send your photos to your personal blog from there very easily.
If there is sound at the OK site, I have not heard anything. There is a volume control. I will be watching to see if the OK eaglet has tantrums or chases parents out of the nest.
Do you buy it or is it a free download?
Wanda is right. You can upload a lot of pictures in a short time. I am not sure why Blogger is so slow, I wonder if my pictures are too large of files.
It is free, from Google, I think.
My son downloaded something called IrfanView. You can copy and paste pictures from the screen on that. I have been working with it. I have been able to get that picture of the three little Finney babies on it from the first day we saw them.
Eventually, I will learn how to post them on my blog.
I will have to check it out.
I spelled it wrong earlier, it is Picasa.
DEB, what an exciting day you had! Your photos are sooo interesting...everyone of them. I have never seen an oriole nest, much less one with an oriole in it! So glad you are still finding time for your adventures:)
OK eaglet back down in the nest.
I had seen nests before, Wanda, but never one with a bird on it. I hadn't ever seen a Barn Owl either, that was really cool. I am just about done with CA pictures. There are some fun pictures there, too.
The pictures are beautiful, Deb. I have never seen an oriole nest either.
I imagine that the OK eaglet is still tired.
The barn owl in a cove or cave, is spectacular. Worthy of a prize!
CA pictures are up, you have to go to older posts to see them or click on California Birds on the left side of blog.
I was thinking the same thing about the barn owl, Deb.
Wanda, the bluffs are carved out by the River. It looks like rock but it is sand. It is hard but will crumble. The owls make those little caves.
I just saw Spidey!
Love that roadrunner!
Spidey looks so spooky.
Happy 44th Anniversary, Lolly and Jack!!
I was so surprised to see the Roadrunner, I didn't even know they had them in CA. We saw two, but I only got pictures of the one through the fence.
Loretta, do you have them loaded to Picasa yet?
No, I don't know how to get them on there, except I have my name w/Picasa in My Faves!!! I didn't make that! They did ☺
Your CA pics are great, Deb. I've never seen a barn owl in a natural home!, nor an oriole nest.
I don't know how to load them on a PC, but Paula does. It is really easy on a Mac, so I bet it would be on a PC, too. i'll look for directions.
Okay, Loretta, I already had found a help page so will post it anyway.
Picasa Importing Help
A PC is way different from my Mac.
I don't care who looks at mine, but I have it set so no one can use them. I hope it works that way.
I am off to the grocery store. BBL
Deb - love all your newly posted pics.
Especially the Sudsy Fountain! Seriously I just don't know how you spot so many different things to photograph in the name of Nature!
Thx so much, Deb. I hope I can get 'er dun!
BBL myself
I guess it has been a busy 4 days for the OK Eaglet! I am so relieved to see he has found his nest again and maybe a meal or two!
Andrea - beautiful surprise was waiting for you - so glad you found the trumpet vine - I love their flowers.
Thanks for the information and the link, Deb.
Deb
Both sets of pictures are Exquisite!
Jim should like the Road-runner!
Hope everyone is enjoying this last Evening of Spring. ☺
Back from the store, just in time for the rain to start. It is just sprinkling for now.
It was so funny to see the bubbles in the fountain. I wish I had taken the picture earlier, but we were too busy gathering up the suds!
Thanks for the picture comments. Nothing I love more than finding neat stuff to take pictures of!
I must learn how to do the slideshows and embed captions on the photos...there are tons more wildflowers I expect to photograph this summer ☺
Spent 12 hours today taking a class, don't have much steam left.
Good to come home to a blog that is working, and to read about everyone's day, including Deb's little swim. So glad you had the opportunity to get out in the kayak, Deb.
Getting dark in OK. The eaglet is snuggled down in the nest.
I am about ready to snuggle into my nest, too.
Good night.
Baby herons visible and pecking and falling over each other
Where is the heron nest?
Shirley:
Wildwatch (Heron)
you can click on the left and go to osprey, bluebird, etc.
Geographically? in Washington State...
Thanks, Magpie. I will save it until tomorrow or I will be up all night. Something to look forward to.
HI, MARGY...did you learn anything new in your class today? 12 hours is a looong time!
Hi Wanda, I learned some things. Class was about Incident Management Systems, for emergency events, Homeland Security things and organization and all that. An awful lot of duplicity spread out over 12 hours but at least it's done. Totally necessary concept though.
Hope the Captain is about back to normal now.
Nite Shirley.
And, I will be watching for butterfly caterpillars on those Milkweed Flowers. ☺
Got to hit the sack, getting up early to take the grandson and his father out for Father's Day Breakfast, think we are coming back down to Shoney's.
Good Night, everyone.
God Bless Us, Every One
xoxo ☺ ♥
Capt. Sorebutt is doing very well. He's driving now (don't think he likes my driving;) Still sore, but no pain. I wish he would whine so I could baby him a little, but he's not doing that:(
Shoney's breakfast is great...GeeGee's favorite.
Sleep tight, Margy:)
It is getting close to bedtime, so I guess I will shut down for the night.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SWEET DREAMS
PRAYERS FOR ALL
I am shutting down, too. Night everyone!
WHOA!
I missed saying good night to All
Prayers for all needs being said
Pleasant dreams and peaceful sleep!
((hugs)) ♥
Deb, your pictures are just fantastic. Quite the pro!
Have been busy tonight. After finishing packing Jack and I worked on the house. Nice to return to a straightened and clean house!
Now about time to go shower. I am very happy that OK eaglet is in his nest tonight.
Good night to all!
Sweet dreams!
Okay, for all wondering/questioning my reference yesterday:
From Merriam-Websters:
gew·gaw
Pronunciation: \ˈg(y)ü-(ˌ)gȯ\
Variant(s): also gee·gaw \ˈjē-, ˈgē-\
Function: noun
Etymology: origin unknown
Date: circa 1529
: a showy trifle : bauble, trinket
** GOOD NIGHT **
I see there's nobody home on the nest tonight...except Spidey and the Spirit Eagles.

I never even came close to hitting one.

Hedgie, I do not know what all of the fuss is over the word
gewgaw or geegaw--I have always thought it was a perfectly good word.
Good Father's Day Morning
Happy Father's Day to all our Dadsters on here, and loving thoughts to all our Dads who have gone ahead of us but will be in our hearts forever.
xo ♥
I hope Hidey is especially thoughtful of Liberty today and shares all the fish with him. Maybe he will even CATCH one for him.
Hedgie sorry we missed you as you chatted away with nice thoughts about everyone, and the best Father's Day Praise wish.
Jim
Deb's Road-runner picture is from her trip to California ☺
Good morning, Magpie.
Hi Shirley
Cool Monarch information. I have seen more wild Milkweed so far this year than in previous years.
Wanda's mother raised and "hatched" a monarch butterfly last year ☺
Hidey is a'singin' this morning.
And there is our Eaglet !
Just refreshed my picture and see that Hidey is in the nest.
Hidey was doing the happy Hip-Hop this morning, now he's up near the cam branch
My two older children learned about monarchs in kindergarten. The teacher had a big net in the classroom. The children brought in milkweed with eggs attached, and they raised lots of butterflies and set them free. It was a wonderful project.
I guess that was a quick visit from Hidey. I didn't actually see when s/he landed.
That's a great project for kids, Shirley. Earlier in the Spring, my grandson's 3rd grade glass hatched out some Painted Ladys and set them free. ☺
Wanda's mother GeeGee named her butterfly "Margy" - that's me ☺
I didn't see him land either, just heard it then saw it because I was typing a post...I saw him hop up to the branch out of sight though
Hope he comes back for a lot of visits today for everyone, and I hope he brings Liberty with him ☺
I see the OK eaglet is on the bar. Had a good rest last night and is ready to go this morning.
First Morning of Summer....starting out cool and breezy here in West Virginia
Baby Finney Ospreys getting a feeding
I think all of the children in that class will remember the monarch lesson, and the parents as well.
Those osprey babies have grown since we first saw them.
Both osprey adults present briefly.
Margy, I just made a note in my cheat sheet. I thought that was your name, but I wasn't sure. Nice to have a butterfly namesake.
Yes, Shirley: I was highly complimented ! I just missed its fledgling last year by an hour or so...
