Dana, I take it that they are doing the biopsy via needle rather than bronchoscopic, huh? Will definitely continue praying. Yep, Deb....sticker preserved....but WV law forbids the application of a used sticker on a new windshield! It is typed right on the invoice...what a bummer. BUT....forgot that I have owner lifetime free inspections at the dealer, so guess I'll have to drive in Monday, but won't cost me anything!
Leaving to get ready to go to a get together for a family group of sponsors who supported our niece when she did the Cancer Walk in DC. Her mom (hubby's sil) lost her battle to cancer.
Shar---tell the beach bums we say hey! And tell Ellie Mae that she better n0ot bite the hand that's been feeding her! Had to laugh about Andrew and his shirtlessness.....guess growing up includes losing some shyness/modesty, huh? Most guys shed the shirt at the first opportunity! All that pale, protected skin is so vulnerable!
I missed it, because I was driving home from Chambersburg, but Hagerstown had a huge storm!! Hail and bucketloads of rain. Streets are flooded, and a lot of traffic lights are out. Computer still working though, so that's good!
Heading out for the weekend, will tell ya all about it when I get back...not sure if I'll be on here Sunday night or Monday, will be back Sunday night.

Hi Deb. I was signing off a long time ago but got side tracked. Glad it was a good day at work. This time I am gone before my face hits the keyboard. Have a good one.
For July 4 (which will be Sissy and Tom's 32 anniversary), I will be at Pipestem Ampitheatre where Andrew will be performing with the East River Mountain Town Band for the last time. :-(*,*,* They will do 2 hours of patriotic tunes.
Good Evening Everyone ☺ Had a different kind of field trip today.Went w/a group from the Park to Willow Pond Farms in Fairfield, PA. Most of the group belongs to a club, Basket Bunch & this farm is famous for it's supply of lavender. We bought sprigs we cut ourselves & you can make "wands" out of them & weave ribbon in the stems. Went thru Taneytown & Emmittsburg, MD. Saw eaglets both coming in & leaving Park.In AM, saw flapping in the nest---must have been breakfast delivery & in PM, 2 were flying & squawking over the creek area near their nest.
Sure was, Deb. A great day out of an office!!! And eaglets to boot. I did find one of the PM squawkers up on a dead branch w/only pale sky behind it. But of course it took off before I could get it's pic. If I didn't know they were eagles, they seemed like vultures in appearance! Flicker report here----Ms. Flicker du8g a nest hole from Sun. thru all of Wed. Her boyfriend visited tree once on Mon. Thurs. she rested. This AM both came to the tree, but left. Tune in to the continuing saga!
Wow, Sharon, that sounds like quite a concert. Too bad it's Andrew's last----they should give him a flag!
We had short but bad storm here around 8PM--hope it's gone. Gotta catch some news--will prob. konk out! I'm almost afraid to watch news---been a bad week. Later, maybe ☺
I am out of here, too. I am tired tonight, so I sure hope I sleep well. I hardly slept last night. Central SD is getting storms now, I hope they die out before the get here. Temp is already down in the 70's.
A storm rolled through here about 2 hours ago...lots of loud thunder, but very little rain. We do need rain. Hope we get some more during the night. JO, the photo of your G-Grandkids all together on your deck is PRICELESS. You look like you'r going to burst with pride.
Back on in time to catch everyone turning in! A heavy rain here, but not too much wind. VERY pink sky---eerie! Luckily, no hail. Rain was so hard I couldn't see more than 15 ft. Nice cool down at the time, but temp back up about 5 degrees since, and muggier than it was, which was bad! Blessed sleep and prayers for good things for all. Night-night.
I am as late this evening getting off as I was late getting on this morning. Wanda - you hit the nail on the head when you mentioned Proud as a Peacock! Thanks for posting the photo!
We did go to the 'get together' at my niece's home in between the rain! They had hail with the rain down in Frederick. The affair was very enjoyable.
It's pretty late, but thought I'd let everyone know that prayers are being said for blessings for all, and healing and good news where needed.
Donka Maria, please give Miss Roxie a hug and a kiss for me-- so glad she's doing well!
Megan, sorry about the hummer-- had a few casualties myself-- a baby sparrow, and two young black capped night herons. All fell out of nests, and didn't make it, either.
Glad Hidey's been seen-- hope it doesn't rain again tonight. I see that Spidey's been busy.
May be pretty busy this weekend, but will check in if possible. Hope all of you have a great weekend! :o]

Deb, you definitely should see the Black Hills & Mt. Rushmore.
I stopped once in the middle 80's on the way back from Minnesota. Took a look at the Badlands ... they are "bad" ... first and "Wall's" store (can't recall what kind(s), which you see advertised on roadside signs for a hundred miles at least.
I think I must have stayed overnight somewhere because I remember touring through the Black Hills and getting to Mt. Rushmore in the morning. The whole area is AWESOME, believe me.
Then I drove south to Custer's State Park, and, near the remnants of a fort which has been used in several movies, I saw my first herd of Buffalo, leisurely moving and grazing across the road and moving up a hillside to the right of the road.
And there's probably a lot more to do in the area than I was aware of... well worth the trip. Take your cameras and plenty of film.
Good Saturday Morning Every One Hidey is a'squawking, Finney's three are getting a feeding, and I was watching a spike buck in velvet and now a Tom Turkey at Pix Pa..
Smiles with those wonder greatchanchildren of Jo's - Nice going, Ladies and Kids !
Sorry about the birdy casualties at Megan's and Andrea's ... but things sound Good for the Flickers at Loretta's. Here's another title: Search for Tomorrow
Oh, Norma I did get into George Washington's Bath Tub at Berkeley Springs...I have a picture that the grandson took, will try to post it later. There are some new wildflowers pictures on my Wildflowers in West Virginia, including Butter & Eggs.
MARGIE--Do you get the 4th off?--When my kids lived in Harpers Ferry/Shepherdstown area---they used have great fire-works there--& they are honoring JOHN BROWN at HARPERS FERRY this mo--150th ANNIVERSARY----
Hey Norma! it did, for some reason I had to hit publish at this end....never had to do that before. Thank you! Some books label that Goats Beard as Oyster Plant...but I have always known it as Goat's Beard. A lot of the flowers I photograph are more commonly classified as Weeds, but anything that flowers, catches my eye ! I gotta hit the sack, but will hit any unfinished "Publish" buttons when I get up from sleeping. Thanks for visiting! xox
Good morning my wonderful Eagle buds! I have missed you guys! We didn't have an internet connection the last four days of vacation, so I uas cut off from the world! Have I missed anything exciting?
WELCOME HOME SISSY!---(i think i can be nice to you now) ho!---I bet you all had a FUN TIME!!---& GUESSING you are tanned--'all over'----MISSED YOU FOLKS---big time!
Good morning Norma! Yes, we had a great vacation. I will put some pics on my profile in a bit! Yeah, I think Sharon said ya'll could be nice to me now!
BEAUTIFUL FINLAND OSPREY MOM!!----I think is asleep on her feet!---She gives you that 'STARE'---like 'don't you have something else to look at now'----Will miss them---when they fledge!!
Another pretty morning in upstate New York here. Along with monitoring to see if Hidey is going to make an appearance, I have the Norfolk cam up and what an interesting shot this morning. Does anyone know, do they have someone on site that controls that camera view?
Norma... Atr the same time that Hidey and either Belle or Lib was retruning to this nest, both parents and at least one juvie were returning to the Norfolk nest. It was neat seeing soo many eagles all at once! *lol*
Alittle earlier the view at Norfolk was of one juvie sitting on a limb with a pond in the background and flower beds below. It was a very pretty sight.
Is it possible that since Hidey is becoming so independent, that Hidey is claiming the nest as their own now and trying to stop the parents from coming to it?
TAMMY---I just saw 2 'REBELS' fighting over a place in the nest---1 stayed in nest---other flew to limb----(have never seen the flowers, etc there)---But it is located in a beautiful area!!
Norma, yeah, right after I mentioned the view, it changed. While it was on the pond and the flower beds, I was trying to figure out how to take a "snap shot" of it. They have beautiful flower beds beneath where that tree is. Someone who knows how should tell the folks at Norfolk to give us a 360 view of what is below that nest. It must be beautiful.
TAMMY---This is the first year--since I have been here--that BELLE & LIB have had only ONE EAGLET---She has not learned to share---but I agree with DEB---she will be alone leaving the nest---& she needs all the SPUNK she can muster up!
don't know what kind they are, Dana, but some years we have a lot some years not so much, this is a good year, beautiful graceful fliers, and love to see them dive for fish

The storm last night knocked down one of my bird feeder blocks. Seeds all over the ground. I picked up the remaining seeds and laid it on the porch rail. Squirrel is having a feast.
Good almost afternoon, fowl friends. Been lurking all morning while trying to get things back in order here. Vacuuming now, but needed a break. Question: do the male flamingos also sit on the nest, or do other females act as surrogates when mom leaves the mound?
Sissy, glad to have you back in the roost! Ceil, the real story that I had referred to was the one about the gift shop at NCTC!! Guess it helps to have a distant family relation!!
Thanks Lynn. Nice story. Glad you were able to get into the gift shop. There was an article in the Baltimore Sun. They are trying to introduce the baby elephant to the other females. He is so cute. Sampson is his name. They have to be careful because elephants frighten easily. All went well. They did not let his mom and him in very long. Will do it little by little

Another storm hitting our valley
I split and didn't even know it!
Kids called and just got home from the beach.. Elizabeth loved the sand and the surf! Samantha had a ball too!
And their grandpa Michael loved it all!
Considering the circumstances, it is okay that the Germany gang went to the beach. :)

Storm is overhead now.

Heating up leftovers---wierd combination: kielbasa and cranberry stuffing from stuffed pork chops that had no meat left!! Too good to pitch!
Glad you made it safely, Sunnny!
Hi, Lisa! Good to have you both with us again.
Since him and Kelsey have been together, it is like he is more comfortable with himself. Just talked to him. They are home safe and sound too.
Yep Mema Jo we split and I didn't even know it. Came back fron din din and seen the split.
Yes Hedgie-Lynn needle they know for sure they can't get it with
bronchoscope. Hoping with needle they can--on inside lung but outside wall.
Sharon your so nice to smile on the beach goers from Germany ( :
I thought that was rather sweet of me! :)
T-Bird and Buddy the Bassett just arrived.
Fluff thief in the nest.
Tell Thelma I said hi and give buddy a pat for me.
Is that an owl I hear?
Evening, all!
Happy Friday!
Haven't read or watched a thing today.
Heading out for the weekend, will tell ya all about it when I get back...not sure if I'll be on here Sunday night or Monday, will be back Sunday night.
Hope everyone is well, and gets to see Hidey.
Have a great weekend!

Snowman cam. Goose has her patriot costume and the snowman has a patriot hat. Cute
I am home from work, had a good day, no mean people all day long!!
Cute Snowman cam outfits, I love the 4th of July!
me too, Deb...will not be at beach, but will be in DC for Nats game and mall fireworks:)
I did the Mall fireworks once a long time ago, it was awesome. One day I want to do Mt. Rushmore, can't believe I live in SD and haven't ever done it.
Mema Jo, that is the price she has to pay for going to the beach without me. ;)

Not sure about the flag. I am thinking they might have it up through the whole performance. I have to check that one out.
sounds like a great day Loretta.
well hope they let you have the flag Sharon or you will not like them:)

Checking in to say good night. We've had strong thunderstorms with lots of lightning and wind, but it has calmed down now.
George is purring on my lap. He doesn't seem too bothered by storms, but I think he is glad it has calmed down.
I see Spidey has decorated the nest. Lovely.
I enjoyed seeing Hidey sitting on the edge of the nest and talking away today. I think s/he was making a speech.
Good night all.
God bless.
Nope, cannot like Karla until Monday.

I have sound but have to refresh often....Hidey is rattling the branch and the microphone, big time, think I can see his shadow too.
I worked overnight Norma, and back in at 6 pm for another 12.
Finney's looks spectacular this morning, two adults right now and the babies are frisky !
Interesting option that Mits pointed out about purchasing live feed on that site...think I will continue with the economy route also
Dad just arrived at Finney's nest.

MORNIN' MITS!---
Good morning Mits! Good to be home (well kinda!)
Good morning, everyone. Rain here during the night, but no wind.
I see Jim thinks I haven't been to the Black Hills. Jim, I have been there numerous times, just not for the 4th of July!
Good Morning All!
Another pretty morning in upstate New York here. Along with monitoring to see if Hidey is going to make an appearance, I have the Norfolk cam up and what an interesting shot this morning. Does anyone know, do they have someone on site that controls that camera view?
Tammy, they do sometimes have people that control the cameras. This year they have had lots of problems though.
BWO...update
Nest Update
06/26/09:
Contest Alert!
We have opened the 2009 Chick-Naming Contest. Help us name our tough little chick.
MORNIN' DEB & TAMMY---I don't think MOVIN'JIM follows the blog very often!--ho!---
Food fight at NBG.
TAMMY--I checked the NORFOLK 'REBEL' site earlier!--I didn't see any EAGLES--& there last update was 6/22---w/check now!
My goodness!
What was that with Hidey? Did Hidey intend on driving one of the adults out of that nest?
We haven't received any of those storms or showers you all have had the past couple evenings----must be paying the preacher--ho!
Thanks for the explanation Deb. :)
Sorry I ask so many questions. *lol*
OH TAMMY-!!--This 'LITTLE IMP'--not only tents the food they bring--she LITERALLY PUSHES THEM OUT OF THE NEST!---SPOILED ROTTEN!!
No problem, Tammy. I think they somehow control the camera by computer, so they can even do it from home.
Norma, I think Jim just scans the blog sometimes.
Morning all. Tammy ask away. I will probably give you the wrong answer. LOL Don't mean too
I have another question.. or 3 ;)
Is it possible that since Hidey is becoming so independent, that Hidey is claiming the nest as their own now and trying to stop the parents from coming to it?
No, it is all about food for Hidey. He won't get interested in nesting and setting up a territory until between 4-5 years.
Deb, that's an interesting camera set-up. Not perfect though... They need a little windshield wiper to get whatever is on the lens off.
:)
TAMMY---I just saw 2 'REBELS' fighting over a place in the nest---1 stayed in nest---other flew to limb----(have never seen the flowers, etc there)---But it is located in a beautiful area!!
Deb... All about food? My goodness, somebody needs to teach that little fella some "table manners".
*lol*
It is a dead spider and if I remember right they have to take the cam casing apart to get to it.
I am off to work. BBL
Hidey needs to behave this way to survive out in the big bad world. :(
WHOA! TAMMY--Our 'GORGEOUS BABY' cares about ONE EAGLET----HERSELF!!!!---Most selfish little devil you will ever meet!---BUT SHE IS COOL!!
Have a good day at work Deb. I know, Hidey is doing what comes natural and I want Hidey to be able to defend itself in the wild.
And Norma... Hidey (attitude or not) is a cutie. I wouldn't changed him/her for anything.
TAMMY---This is the first year--since I have been here--that BELLE & LIB have had only ONE EAGLET---She has not learned to share---but I agree with DEB---she will be alone leaving the nest---& she needs all the SPUNK she can muster up!
TAMMY---I think she is the MOST BEAUTIFUL--INTELLIGENT--AWESOME--INDEPENDENT EAGLET we have ever seen----ho!----YOU GO GIRL!!
DANA---Just looked in on the DONKEYS---there is a DARK ONE!!
Wanted you to know that I have you & ED in my thoughts & prayers---GOOD BLESS-----
Norma,
I'd agree, she's all that, and then some.
Sure gonna miss her when she leaves.
Well, I have a paint brush that is calling my name..
You all have a beautiful day...
MORNIN' LOVELY CEIL!!---I got so carried away with the HEIDY aka MIRACLE---that I didn't ask about your sister---pray she is well--
I'm fine Norma, thanks for asking....oh you mean the other sister:):)
off to check for dolphins:)
FUNNY--FUNNY--MITS! ho!---How is MARGARET?----does she still need help?----
Good Morning Eaglelanders and Watchers.
Parent in nest then Hidey/Miracle flys in. I didn't see any food?
Mary Margaret is doing great, thanks for asking:), Norma
not many dolphins yet, but a bumper year for lots of pelicans:)
he is back...Hidey in the nest
Mits are they the brown pelicans?
Only 3 of them years ago. Have always hoped more would come to OC.
Good look at one of the little ones at Finney nest.
don't know what kind they are, Dana, but some years we have a lot some years not so much, this is a good year, beautiful graceful fliers, and love to see them dive for fish

I'll have to watch for a while and hope the right one gets up so I can see under her.
I think so, Shirley...looks like there might be movement
Good Eagle Morning Jo and Shirley.
Thanks Mits seen and egg when one got up. I'll have to pull up screen to watch awhile.
well she just sat down:)...
I thought I saw an egg under that center one, too.
Shirley - if you double click on the flamingo cam it will go full page. Also double click to reduce it......
Thanks, Jo.
There is a chick off to the FAR LEFT
I( think
I think I see it too. In the second row.
oh yeah...that is a chick:)
Yep! The mother is still standing.
The only one standing on the left
Be back shortly......
how cute:)
me too, need more caffeine
Yes, I see it for sure. It is moving all around.
Cute little darling chick. Isn't it?
Hidey is still hanging out at the nest.
The little flamingo stands up and then sits down. Little fluff ball.
The storm last night knocked down one of my bird feeder blocks. Seeds all over the ground. I picked up the remaining seeds and laid it on the porch rail. Squirrel is having a feast.
NORMA if your still here. I have the underwater cam on. No divers yet. I turned the refresh to 2 seconds and the fish are really moving.
I thought HIdey was going to fly out just now. Flapping wings...
I'm still on the underwater cam too.
I looked away and Hidey disappeared.
Enjoyed visiting everyone this morning. Must go get some things done.
Shirely he/she flaps wings in wind and went off the right side near bottom. I waitied to see if he/she was just out of view but nope flew out.
Thanks, Dana. I saw flapping, then glanced away and looked back to an empty nest.
Your avatar is truly beautiful, Dana.
Good almost afternoon, fowl friends. Been lurking all morning while trying to get things back in order here. Vacuuming now, but needed a break.
Question: do the male flamingos also sit on the nest, or do other females act as surrogates when mom leaves the mound?
Nesting behavior
Flamingo nest. © Jessie Cohen
Both parents assist in the construction of the nest. The male usually begins the process of shaping the nest. The female takes over the task as the egg is developing in her body. As the time of egg laying approaches, both parents work rapidly to complete the nest. Even after the arrival of the egg, nest building continues as the pair works to perfect the nest site.
Incubation
Flamingo nest with egg. © Jessie Cohen
The normal clutch of eggs for all species of flamingo is one. Very rarely are two eggs laid, and it is thought that when this occurs, two different females may be involved. Egg measurements and weights vary widely between individuals, but on average, they weigh 140 grams (five ounces) and measure 90 x 55 millimeters (about 3.5 x 2 inches). Immediately after laying, the egg is pure white with a chalky texture. Soon after, however, the egg is often marked with mud from the nest site. Chicks enter the air cell at day 26, followed by pipping at day 27. Hatching generally occurs two days after the chick has entered the air cell
cu later....:)
Sissy, glad to have you back in the roost!
Ceil, the real story that I had referred to was the one about the gift shop at NCTC!! Guess it helps to have a distant family relation!!
bbiaw going to get a nice watermelon for company coming in around 6 or so
Thanks, Mits. Have a fun beach day!!
Jo, loved the pic of you and the kids on the deck! Good-lookers all!!!
Will do it little by little
Jo loved the picture.
Margy loved your pictures also. Nice looking grandson.
*GOOD MORNING*
Again... I did get a couple of hours more shut-eye.
I guess you saw Hidey again, that's encouraging. Maybe I'll see him later today.
Finney is either preening or sleeping, and a couple of the older chicks are up and gawking around the half-dark landscape...and at Mom.

Adult at nest.
back
Afternoon Jim....Man do you get enough sleep?
Hi Hedgie-Lynn what are you what to for today?
Ceil I heard about the little guy. Be nice to see him on a webcam.
Thanks Shirley I see. My sound is whining and it is not Hidey/Miracle.
My sound is whining too. Wonder what causes that?
What on earth is that bird doing? I saw that same neck-jerk earlier. Watching Hidey? Signaling? What is it?
I think it is catching bugs!
I saw something black like fly toward it.
Have you seen an eagle do this before?
Is that a darker smudge or Hidey to the left of Liberty??
C(°Ù¿°)D
Jim
There has to be blackbirds I think in the tree. Probably attacking.
I have not seen Hidey. Is that Liberty? I am still not able to tell the adults apart.
I think Lib has gotten tired of the bugs.
I guess the dark spot is Lib's shadow. hahaha.
Yes, Hunter, eagles will snap at insects if they are bothering them, and they will eat them if they catch them.

Blackbirds attacking Libety?
