Been going through my emails and have found a number of shots you folks have sent of our pair hanging out in the nest. They seem to be their in the 6:00 am hour each day.
Sissy, I have been thinking of that, too. If one of my girls had comitted suicide, I would forever think that I had failed them in some way. It would haunt me til the day I died. Prayers for that family, for sure.
Good morning all. Still more prayers for Mason and his family. Thanks for taking time to share al that you have Megan. Hope everyone is looking forward to a nice Labor Day Weekend. Glad to see the still cam working this am. I didn't even have a chance to try it the last ocuple of days.
Oh, we have a split. Wish we still did FACIALS...I need one. Taking Gene to the beach for a belated B'day present next week. Would like to look better. Oh, well, It Is What It Is!! LOL
Margy, you took the words right out of my mouth...I was just getting ready to ask the same thing. Really miss her CHEER greeting in the morning. Hope she is OK. We do worry about OUR OWN don't we?
Hi Anne-Marie....well, trying to make myself sit down and pay bills.. Cleaned out my electric coffee grinder this morning and got grounds ALL OVER THE PLACE... so my kitchen got a cleaning it wasn't expecting. My mother used to just throw beans into the "Osterizer" - think I might dig that up if I can find it...
Good to "See You." 105-that's might darn hot! We are probably in the 70's, got some much needed rain in the last 36 hours.
Hope all is well out your way. Where it is still morning! Our Eagle Cam pic has been "frozen" in place for two days now...not sure what is up there.
Suzanne thinks the Finnish chick might have migrated too. Here's a quote from an email she wrote this morning...

Yes, I went to NCTC today...didn't see any eagles....and not many people for that matter either...Steve is off and most staff have taken off early for the long holiday weekend. Sorry, thought he would be there so I could let him know about the cam.
Just got a newletter from the SD Zoo, and here's a bit about ZZ.

Hi gang! Long day....had to go to Berkeley Springs to get meds for dog...lab report back w/ terrible results...heavy e. coli growth in urine...antibiotics and anti-inflammatories for 6 wks. (not cheap, either!). TV guy said tv is beyond help...no parts available. Said I am lucky to have gotten 8 yrs. out of a projection tv......did my online shopping comparisons and WalMart had the best sale price...so went and got that. Now to disconnect everything and MARK it before SIL's brother and friend come to take out the big one. New one is a flat screen...WOW!!! Hope everything is ok w/ Steve!! Magpie The bill collectors are going to be knocking on your door if you don't get those checks written!!!! Steve had his check up on his knee today with the orthopedic surgeon. I hope he got a good 'hiking' report!
I get auto news bulletins from AJC in Atlanta so I should get the heads up on any Panda birth & you know I would post it immediately.
My 10:30 lasted until 3:00 and I headed home for an hour or so Panda Nap! I've had dinner & now I am preparing some foods for family get together at daughter's tomorrow.
Today, Jo and I went to NCTC to meet with a biologist/educator who is working on "beefing up" the teachers/students section of the FWS site from our cam.
We also took a walk under the nest...didn't find any turtle shells (poor Jo), but we did find part of a catfish...will upload it to the EM blog shortly.
The lady we met with is also developing some educational tools for use in the classroom...
You are more than welcome, Paula...it was great to see you and get the exciting news about the beefing up of the educational section on the NCTC site...it will do Shepherdstown and West Virginia Proud...and I just got my Eagle picture framed and hung up near my computer.
Thanks for taking the time to swing by here during your travels and I'm glad you are off the Holiday Highways.
MEMA: Going to mail those checks right now! Say a little prayer I don't get stopped for my stay-on-all-the-time brake lights...better too much than not enough, I guess.
Oh Hedgie: You are gonna have it made in the shade just in time for Football season with the flat screen Television. Nice Going. Sorry, so sorry, about the pooch, though, hope the medications work quickly...
Whoa! I though Margie was going to get on me about going home for a Panda nap and not coming over to see her with Paula. A pretty candle .. A container of soup .. Maybe next time!
I got to help with Gabby's meds today, what a difference. I held him the first day back from the Raptor Center and there was nothing to him. I was so upset. Today, I had to keep a fairly tight grip on him so he wouldn't get loose. He eats like a horse, and that is so nice to see. No wheezing today either.
A man from Huron, SD, was in with his 500 mm lens on Monday. Today he stopped back in with a couple of DVD's of his pictures. I will post some of them later tonight, they are great pictures. First, laundry! BBL
All I know about the nest is that it is on the Missouri River and is across from a town. He hides in a blind and can look down on the nest. Boat drive under the nest, but very few people know the nest is there. I am hoping to get more info the next time he comes, but I may never get the location. Whoever owns the land must have some resources and is considering a web cam. I vote Yes!
Well I have had a busy wonderful day and am just now reading the blogs from the day. Gosh so the still cam is stuck. Well that stinks. Guess I was just glad to see a picture. Didn't even look at the date and time My bad :(
Pictures are on my page now. Click on the eagle in the nest and that will bring up the pictures. Then you can click on the first picture to open the album in bigger pictures and arrow through them. The photographer's name is Craig Wollman.
I added the osprey and eagle pictures from Lake Yankton, the first pictures are Craig's up to Gabby in the medical ward, mine start with the young eagle in flight to the end. Wait until you see our brave little osprey battling the eagle! Too bad the one lost his fish to the eagle, but it is making them stronger for the battles they will face in life. I am glad we are here to feed them after they work so hard.
Deb, that is the best video of a nest I have ever seen, it was perfect...close enough to see everything...would love to see a cam there..eagles pics were great also, now did you say you just added more opsrey pics?
That is funny, one of the other volunteers said the same thing today. He takes a lot of pictures, too, so we are going to get each other one when we win the lottery. It is hard to win, though, when you don't play!
My computer said I was running out of disc space.... so I had to take time to clean it up!
Deb - I have viewed the video & others of his that were there... Looked at the pic on your blog... Little Gabby looks like he is longing to be free! Thankful Jane won't let him go until he is really ready.
Helen - if you hadn't been at the beach you would have been right by my side!!! I had some of NCTC crab soup - this time the label said BALTIMORE CRAB SOUP - go figure that one! lol Really good!
Helen - in order to get the bridge traffic moving - they eliminated the tolls! Don't see how that helped anything except the attitudes of the drivers......
I have had the bridge cam on all day, it is still bumper to bumper, I had read they had only eliminated the toll til the traffic had clear, which it had around 6, but became very heavy again this evening...I would have loved to have been there, Jo....yummy..I have not had any steamed crabs yet this summer....going to have to remedy that
Yes, Jo, GeeGee and Wanda got their fill of crab legs as did a few other family members. Mom's not sure if the meds are working yet or not. Doctor said it would be a few days before she will notice an improvement in her appetite. She ate just 1 plate of crabs, some soup, and a plate of fruits, which was surrounded by cookies and ice cream.
When I checked Expedia, I got different prices than Orbitz. Then one of the DC airports was cheaper. I will keep my eye on the Baltimore one then. It is cheaper than I thought it would be, especially by going out of Omaha.
First week in Sept I'll get started making arrangements. Think I'll ask for some committee members for different events (lunch at NCTC - Dinner at Rumsey - Sun Market)
You all will be hearing from me because this isn't a one Momster show anymore!
I have a suggestion: we could all meet in the main building at, say 10ish and all ride over to the nest in the Eagle Express and then back to NCTC for lunch. Just a suggestion (give it some thought).
Aaaaah...slipped through the back streets and got my bills paid and picked up some groceries too. Only policeman I saw was AHEAD of me... now gotta lie low until the next round of diagnostics. Too many electronics on this stupid buggy... can't wait 'til the day I can switch to something much simpler. Well, the ice cream is beginning to melt since I plunked down here first, so, a bowl of that and then on to the new pictures and videos! MEMA: YOU ARE FORGIVEN, THOUGH I WOULD HAVE LOVED FOR YOU TO SEE MY "VEGETABLE GARDEN" AND FLAMINGOES..
XO Back Soon. Anyone want some Chocolate Moose Tracks...?
now you are making me homesick....will be back the week of Sept. 8th, but looks packed and jammed, then have to be back, friend will be visiting the week of the 15th, and I do love the beach in September
Ferry Boat with Lights just going past the Water Nest site now...uh make that JUST WENT past, but there is a little boat with lights along the shore pretty close to the nest...maybe waiting to watch the Sea Eagles when they come in.
Jo, I will begin readying the shop the whole month of Sept. I still have some costumes that need to have the wrinkles steamed out and probably a hundred that need to be priced. Oodles of accessories to price and merchandise. Those racks that I bought from Jill sure do help display things better. We have made arrangements to take off all day on the 18th. So the Eagle Express and the Capt. are at our disposal.
Well, the computer is a positive poke tonight but I sure enjoyed those new photos, DEB - had a little trouble withe video starting and stopping, gonna reset the computer and try again in a little while. The photos, absolutely breathtaking, both yours and Craig's... Back on later to say good night. I'm pretty sure that little boat has been there all night...saw lights just before I went out earlier. xo Good Night to those heading for the Feather Pillows now... (Wonder if it is going to be "Thursday" all week-end...)
Well, caught up on all your blogs! Everyone seems to be having fun! I have been toiling trying to figure out all these connections on the new TV. ALMOST done, but too tired, miffed and confused right now, so time for bath and some relaxding before I turn in. The excitement is building for the 18th of Oct. Can't wait!! So hoping that everyone comes. Helen, is jubby already at the beach or is he having to deal w/ the traffic tonight/tomorrow? Poor guy! Deb, will check out your additions after bath. Rest well, all. See you tomorrow!
Late but getting to finally check in. See talk of some "maybe plans" for Open House. Only got to read 201-326 comments. HEDGIE praying your doggie gets well fast.
I'll bet that boater is having the time of his life at the Water Nest...maybe a photographer.... Would sure like to be there watching up close like that...
Just checking before bedtime. Was busy & didn't get meerkats on yet, but "tomorrow is another day"! Deb your pics are GREAT!!!Thx for taking us on your great adventure! Loved the video of eagle nest (in color!!! hint, hint!)Super angle & that bird was so dainty w/her feet! I wish they could put up a deer stand or something at the Park so there could be a better view esp. for pics of our eagle nest. (If they come back next year.) How great Paula & Jo went to NCTC today & Margy got company! And Deb, are you really coming in Oct???? I printed out MapQuest in June & have it in car!!!I'm ready now! Got my hair cut yesterday. Steve needs to do his cyber access! Wonder if the Beavers won. Gotta hit the hay---AM work---BOO. A politico type lady w/45 guests is having a picnic in our office area--hope I'm not involved. They even are bringing in a 2nd pontoon boat from another Park for her group. Good night everyone. WAKE UP SAT,MASON!! Prayers for all.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE... Wake up, sleepy heads, we have a PARTY to plan! Deb is coming on the 18th, along with Anne-Marie and her brother and Loretta (Naturenut). I think Mauley (Donna) was making plans to come, but haven't heard from her in a while. Lolly has plans at that time, but we may talk her into coming. Hopefully all our regulars are coming. What a GREAT day that will be. A regular LOVE FEST! LOL Hope we all get to see Lib & Belle.
GOOD MORNING DANA & MARGY... Coffee was great...we got a new coffee maker yesterday and it makes a very good brew. DANA, good to see you this morning. We have missed your morning visits. How have you been?
74 huh that's not bad >>>>stick your toe in and see hee hee
Wanda Good Morning Dear ( : Always plan on catching Open House. Are we planning a dinner at Rumsey Tavern around 4 or 5 this time? (Happy Belated Birthday Gene)
WANDA - New car, New coffee maker, what's next ?? !! ??
I certainly hope to be at the Open House...there, will beg, borrow and steal to get the time off if I have to, won't know schedules for awhile, but I wouldn't want to miss it FOR THE EAGLE WORLD!
Ha Ha, my vegetable garden, is a little resin/plastic thing I picked up at the Rescue Mission store, has watermelon, potatoes, carrots (or maybe hot peppers...) - cabbage, corn, yellow squash, beets, eggplant, all neatly arranged in a little box...more like a display of produce than a garden......It's about the size of a box of butter !
LOVE those THRIFT STORES, Margy. I think I told the story of going to a Thrift Store and saw a clerk trying to untangle a bunch of jewelry. I offered her a couple of dollars for all so she wouldn't have to untangle them...got them home and the majority of the jewelry was 14kt gold and even a few small diamonds. Kept some, sold some.
Yes, Wanda, they are my favorite shopping places, I frequently check for pictures and frames, often find something with a double or triple matte, take the picture out if I don't care for it, and re-frame something. I love the jewelry story!
Dana (LOL), last year we went shopping on his birthday and he got me some clothes. It's easier for me to find something I like than him. IT IS WHAT IT IS! LOL Love my gift for this birthday.
I wanted last summer a different cloth (don't like the plastic) table cloth for the pinic table for reunion. Went to Goodwill and bingo found a great one.
I got a pair of black velvet (velveteen I guess) Bib Overalls once - could dress them up with a nice blouse and wear them to church! Wore them out, bent over once and got a big split in the back! Also got a pair of plain velveteen pans, have worn them about 75 times and you would never know it! Each of the two, cost less than $2.00...my kind of price!
It was so much fun to look for antiques and old books, magazines and sheet music at the Thrift Stores when I was in that business. I really miss looking for those things but have no time or outlet for selling them. I once got a newspaper announcing the death of Abraham Lincoln (it was deemed authentic) and sold it for a tidy little sum. I wish, now, that I still had it!
Dana, the crab legs were soooo good last night and they did a good job of keeping the pan full. Waitress was very friendly (they are usually so somber) she even carried Mom's plate back to the table. Never had that happen before!
Lucked out at K-Mart yesterday....needed bedroom slippers. The pair I get are 14.99 they were marked down to 5.00 got to register they were 3.00...can't beat that. Went back to slippers got another pair.
A comforter a person got was $29.99 when they put it through register it was $19.99. Don't know why no signs showing stuff was marked down.
Great buys at K-Mart!!! If you go your item might be alot less that tag.
I am also creating articles and I am pleased the way you accentuate important Key points here. A straight content that not all present to all blog sites. Excellent writing skills. Keep it up. pantry doors

Whoever owns the land must have some resources and is considering a web cam. I vote Yes!
Well I have had a busy wonderful day and am just now reading the blogs from the day. Gosh so the still cam is stuck. Well that stinks. Guess I was just glad to see a picture. Didn't even look at the date and time My bad :(
I now know a little more. The nest looked familiar and it is the same one where the eagle was swimming with the fish.
Go here is see the videos of the nest:
Missouri River nest
Pictures are on my page now. Click on the eagle in the nest and that will bring up the pictures. Then you can click on the first picture to open the album in bigger pictures and arrow through them. The photographer's name is Craig Wollman.
Loved that video, Deb. It is absolutely amazing to watch that big bird tip-toe around those eggs, ever so gently.
Deb, that is the best video of a nest I have ever seen, it was perfect...close enough to see everything...would love to see a cam there..eagles pics were great also, now did you say you just added more opsrey pics?
ok, got them....spectacular Deb:)
I have been suffering from lens envy all week, but the lens he has is around $6,000, so I will continue to suffer!
oh dear...that is a wee bit expensive...if I ever play the lottery and win, I'll buy you one....but don't hold your breath, I rarely play....:)
That is funny, one of the other volunteers said the same thing today. He takes a lot of pictures, too, so we are going to get each other one when we win the lottery. It is hard to win, though, when you don't play!
yeah, I know, but it is something about gambling, I just don't get, I play when the amount gets big:)
Helen - in order to get the bridge traffic moving - they eliminated the
tolls! Don't see how that helped anything except the attitudes of the drivers......
I have had the bridge cam on all day, it is still bumper to bumper, I had read they had only eliminated the toll til the traffic had clear, which it had around 6, but became very heavy again this evening...I would have loved to have been there, Jo....yummy..I have not had any steamed crabs yet this summer....going to have to remedy that
Tomorrow the menu out at Jenny's is fried turkey and steamed crabs!
I'm having trouble getting on here...blogger cop would not recognize me.
CRABS, huh? What time do we eat, Jo?
For some reason Jenny said for us to be there at 3:40 pm.... Odd time.
Did you take GeeGee for her crab legs tonight? Wondering how the
appetite meds worked.
I have been watching flights for October, which airport is the best for me to fly into? The cheapest one is the one in Baltimore, not the ones in DC.
All that would sure fill me up!
Baltimore is a good choice Deb....
DEB - You fly into BWI Baltimore!
I am getting a little over excited by your question!
WHOO HOO
SD Deb might be in WV in OCT
Anne Marie emailed that her plans haven't changed and she will also
be coming in!
We have to check out Lollie now!
is it the 18th of Oct?
I see an EAGLE TALON in Deb's future!! Hooray!!
I don't think Lolly trusts us. Wasn't she the one who said she was a little leary of people who talk to photographs?
Yes it is the 18th. Sounds like this is a going be the best one so far!!! May need a private room for
dinner instead of the Tavern...
When I checked Expedia, I got different prices than Orbitz. Then one of the DC airports was cheaper. I will keep my eye on the Baltimore one then. It is cheaper than I thought it would be, especially by going out of Omaha.
HELEN, Oct. 18....10-4pm
Or, we could pick up at the Clarion.
(That's not nice, is it...)
xo
I'll get over to see your veggies and maybe even see Wanda's one of these days.
It is almost Pumpkin time! Helen
this year take the pumpkins home to the M&M gals!
Wanda - when are you going to start setting up shop?
That could be an option on the 18th
LIKE meet at the Clarion to go to the nest - then lunch - then NCTC
activities until 4 pm.
OR you're on your own until Lunchtime at NCTC.... I think we need a banner for the lunch room...
I wonder if Candy will come up again.
She makes a good brownie!!!!
now you are making me homesick....will be back the week of Sept.
Wow, this ice cream is pretty good.
yes Candy's wedding will be over by then
I've never seen a boat there before
wonder if it docked there for the night
think that ferry boat might have been a cruise ship, it was huge
I thought that with the picture the other evening..... Cruise boat....
I wonder where our Finny nest on the water really is?
Jo, I will begin readying the shop the whole month of Sept. I still have some costumes that need to have the wrinkles steamed out and probably a hundred that need to be priced. Oodles of accessories to price and merchandise. Those racks that I bought from Jill sure do help display things better. We have made arrangements to take off all day on the 18th. So the Eagle Express and the Capt. are at our disposal.
Whatever that boat was, it was a beautiful photo.
Large ship going by Frieda's ledge
I just wonder when we are ever going to see Frieda or Frodo on the cam..
Finny isn't in her nest -- Jim & Suz think that she fledged yesterday afternoon........
Do you see someone in that boat with a white shirt on?
Going to call it a night..... especially if I need to be at Jenny's at 3:40 pm! I'll have to let you know why the crazy arrival time!
Peace to you & yours..
Prayers for all our needs being said
Wake up Mason! It's Friday night
(((hugs)))

PRAYERS FOR ALL....WAKE UP MASON, YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND!
I put another load in the dryer and towels in washer. Towels can sit until tomorrow if I don't fold them tonight!
Watching for sea eagles, but headed to shower now.
Incoming....one sea eagle and I think he brought something with him...
sea eagle just arrived
think it dropped down the hole
here comes the other one
Well, caught up on all your blogs! Everyone seems to be having fun! I have been toiling trying to figure out all these connections on the new TV. ALMOST done, but too tired, miffed and confused right now, so time for bath and some relaxding before I turn in.
The excitement is building for the 18th of Oct. Can't wait!! So hoping that everyone comes.
Helen, is jubby already at the beach or is he having to deal w/ the traffic tonight/tomorrow? Poor guy!
Deb, will check out your additions after bath.
Rest well, all. See you tomorrow!
Lyn he will be coming early a.m. tomorrow...it has been one colossal mess...Night!!!!!!
Late but getting to finally check in.

HEDGIE praying your doggie gets well fast.
Oh, the sea eagles are so beautiful. Glad I got to see them. Hi, Dana! Glad you made it on.
Night all, late guest scheduled to arrive soon.
HEDGIE: You have probably already disappeared for the night, but I wanted to tell you I am enjoying some Hydrox cookies right now!
(If they come back next year.)
How great Paula & Jo went to NCTC today & Margy got company!
Now the Hooded Crows are picking through the nest...
Just checked Finland on the water--no Sea Eagles, but a couple neat hooded crows.
Shutting down for real!!! Night
wELL, there's still no sign of the Finney's chick, and the nest looks unchanged....

Wake up, sleepy heads, we have a PARTY to plan! Deb is coming on the 18th, along with Anne-Marie and her brother and Loretta (Naturenut). What a GREAT day that will be. A regular LOVE FEST! LOL

lol.....Dana, I know better:)
Thanks Margy Good Morning to you too ( :
GOOD MORNING DANA & MARGY...
Coffee was great...we got a new coffee maker yesterday and it makes a very good brew.
DANA, good to see you this morning. We have missed your morning visits. How have you been?
Margy, are you going to be able to join us at Open House on the 18th? How about Miss Dana?
Dana, I just checked....water temp for today is 74
where is ROBO STEVE?
74 huh that's not bad >>>>stick your toe in and see hee hee
Wanda Good Morning Dear ( :
Always plan on catching Open House.
Are we planning a dinner at Rumsey Tavern around 4 or 5 this time?
(Happy Belated Birthday Gene)
It is 67° and cloudy here, going up to 80°. Very dismal looking right now.
I believe so, Dana. We are going to fill that Tavern up!
Ha Ha, my vegetable garden, is a little resin/plastic thing I picked up at the Rescue Mission store, has watermelon, potatoes, carrots (or maybe hot peppers...) - cabbage, corn, yellow squash, beets, eggplant, all neatly arranged in a little box...more like a display of produce than a garden......It's about the size of a box of butter !
xo
Gene is so lucky, he has had 2 B'Day celebrations and friends have invited us for another party this afternoon. He loves his birthday. I wonder why!!
Margy it will be overflowing with vetagables with this rain.
Yes it would make you wonder why Gene would be liking his birthday lol
But Wanda it's his birthday he is getting the celebrations but YOU ARE GETTING THE GIFTS (laughing to hard here)
LOVE those THRIFT STORES, Margy.
I love the jewelry story!
xoxo
Dana (LOL), last year we went shopping on his birthday and he got me some clothes. It's easier for me to find something I like than him. IT IS WHAT IT IS! LOL
Love my gift for this birthday.
Norma only count 7 donkeys out at this time. They need more sleep. More will be up later.
GOOD MORNING Mits, Wanda, Margy, and early Jim.
Each of the two, cost less than $2.00...my kind of price!
xo TTFN gotta get some cards in the mail...
What ever happened with "Buddy" the eaglet?
It was so much fun to look for antiques and old books, magazines and sheet music at the Thrift Stores when I was in that business. I really miss looking for those things but have no time or outlet for selling them. I once got a newspaper announcing the death of Abraham Lincoln (it was deemed authentic) and sold it for a tidy little sum. I wish, now, that I still had it!
The whole newspaper was edged in black. Very good condition.
Dana, the crab legs were soooo good last night and they did a good job of keeping the pan full. Waitress was very friendly (they are usually so somber) she even carried Mom's plate back to the table. Never had that happen before!
Wanda you all are going so often they are getting to know you all too well ( :
Tian is enjoying a frosty treat;)
and Mei just got hers
Oh I see he is Mits ty....a constant lick lick lick lol
Mei on 1, and Tian on 2
Lucked out at K-Mart yesterday....needed bedroom slippers.
Good Morning
New thread is up!
I am also creating articles and I am pleased the way you accentuate important Key points here. A straight content that not all present to all blog sites. Excellent writing skills. Keep it up.
