If our eagles are starting to eat in the nest, that must be a good sign that things are warming up a bit. :)
couldn't really tell, Candy, Dad brought in food gave some to Mom, and they both looked down in the nest alot.

Sounds like great news to me MITS. Today has been a very restless day at Tesoro, but then again, all were saying it was like that yesterday too. But parent seems to be up higher in the nest now.

It is awesome news indeed. So many rooting for them this year. Celebraitng all around right now. Oh wheres my Kleenex. Saving movie now. BUT takes You Tube a while to process even after its uploaded. Probably an hour or more til it will be online for viewing. But If you love eagles...and my guess is you do....have a Kleenex ..if you are the mushy sort :)
DANA I know how you feel. I have been sitting here today feeling sorry for the poor parent who seemed to agitated. I do hope Glo is right and will send us a link to her site when the video is processed. Again I say Yipeeeeeee!
Thanks so much Glo for being there for us. I don't know if I can wait an hour or so. I am sooo excited. Another work of God is coming into our world.

Eagle up tearing at food at Tesoro
Eagle eating a few pieces, then is tearing off smaller pieces and looking into nest, but have not seen eagle feeding into nest.
Back down again...maybe there is an eaglet and it just wasn't hungry yet?
The oldest eaglet at CC was just flapping it's wings pretty good!

Welcome Baby Tesoro
DANA has been keeping her eyes on the Tesoro cam and Paula, too I guess. Paula has a video on you tube that we thing might be the parent bringing in food for a new hatchling. We are hoping, anyway.
Yes, Paula, it does appear from your video that the two parents are gathered to gawk at the baby eagle, and the one is feeding small bites of fish to a third mouth (kind of vague this time where the third mouth is) and to the other parent on occasion.
It definitely looks as though they have been successful this season, TG.

Do baby eagles generally eat on their first hatched day, or could this possibly hatched yesterday when parent was so anxious in the nest and maybe we have another one in there today!
I guess time will tell when we start to see little heads sticking up. :)
FEEDING A CC1
Candy - Baby eaglets can survive for a day on the remaining yolk that they ingest, so they don't have to feed on their hatch day....but I did the Limuw at the SC nest last year being fed on his first hatch day....so the answer could be either!

Eagle ate about 7-8 bites...them moved food to the right. Was looking in nest and off to the rear left..now back down into nest

Thank you so much to all of those praying for Tessa. She is struggling to breath, so they are sending her to Brenner's Children Hospital where she can get more specific treatment. She is not stable enough for follow up exams on her eye surgery. The doctors have decided even if she needed more surgery - they couldn't do anything right now.She is a precious gift in God's hands.
Maine nest is ready to be inhabited. There is finally no snow on it today. No birds in residence tho.
Very interesting activity here this afternoon. Thanks Paula & Glo for videos of the newest eaglet! Can't wait for our action to start!

Heard from the kids in Germany - all is well except it is a weekend & the buses aren't running. They are at the hotel on base - won't process in until Monday. They found the Burger King!!

I have to laugh at Jo commenting on her family in Germany finding a Burger King; reminds me of Gene & me and Karla when we went to Hawaii. When I saw the prices of food in the restaurants, I nearly had a heart attack. We finally were directed to a Buger King by someone in our hotel who was having the same problem.

a couple of years ago we went to a football game out in Phoenix, it was October and the temp was 105°, would have liked to have had a dome for that one.

Well ladies, I am sitting here watching the woodpecker, the nummer. Pete's Pond and the Pa. cam. I also have our nest up, but think that won't have anymore appearances.
Another football game is coming on tonight yet. Guess I'll fall asleep watching that one.

We were once in the Super Dome in New Orleans and it was so humid, clouds formed. Our Aunt who lived there said it rained once. I guess the got a climat control system after that.
We were rooting for Green Bay, also and I am for Jaguars; don't know about Gene.

Hi all, what an exciting day with the events at Tesoro. I hope the films of Paula and Glo are the signs of little ones.
I had fun at the zoo. All the animals got a Christmas tree with various treats on them. It was fun to watch the pronghorns and the reindeer destroy their trees. They really liked running their antlers through the branches. Bears got fishsicles and the cats got meatsicles. I hadn't ever gone before and am glad I went, although it was a little cold.
Night all, going to start a big batch of spaghetti. (it has to cook overnight)

ANYONE WHO HASN'T WATCHED GLO'S VIDEO OF THE TESORO BABY FEEDING; PLEASE DO, IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME.
It is my opinion that Mom & Dad are, in fact, feeding babies. You can't see them, but the tiny pieces of food that the parents have in their beaks when they put their heads down into the nest is a dead give-away. At one point in the video, Dad feeds Mom so tendely, it makes your heart sing!

No this morning I jumped up, got dressed, burshed my hair and am already to go. Last week I made my husband late; he is in the choir and has to be early, but I didn't want to get off here. :)
While I was typing, it looked as if there was the second parent up and out of sight at CC, as I saw his wings come up as if he was taking off.
Yes Candy one parent is on that half circle branch. The other either flew up into tree or left.
Going to set up some other cams.
I think the deer at Pa. is our deer that has the two deformed legs on the same side. Someone suggested that it might have been hit by a car and survived. It is weird that he is usually all alone and comes early in the am.

I know the one has it I think hind right leg at a place swollen. I don't believe that one was hit by a car. Yet there is another one that really looks badly battered. Humped over legs, and alot messed up about it. That's the one I also think was hit by a car.
When I brought the cam up at Tesoro is looked like maybe it had rained. Else it was a good fog there this morning and dampened things.

GOOD MORNING DANA & CANDY....
Our visit this morning was uneventful. They flew in, one right after the other, and just sat a looked around for 15 mins. Then Belle left and Lib was right behind her. I watched for A FEW MINUTES FOR THEM TO COME BACK, BUT THEY DIDN'T.
Deer are such beautiful animals too, but they can really wreck a car and poor Megan's flower fields,:( and anyone out there that has deer by their property. I just think they are soooo soft and serene and beautiful to watch.

Did either of you go to GLO'S "FOR THE LOVE OF EAGLES" and watch her video of Tesoro Babies. It is beautiful with the music she chose.
I am just going to get me a wider monitor so I can fit more pics on the screen! :) I used to take my son over to my mom and dads place in the woods to watch the wild turkeys come to feed in their front yard. Amazing, they even fly into trees.
Yes, I did go for coffee with the Capt. We like to chat on Sunday mornings.
Yes, I saw it after Paula's. I just love that song Rais you up on eagles wings. We sing that in church. Paula had a good video also. We have two talented ladies there.
Gene got up earlier than me this morning and his reward was to see three turkeys walking up through the woods. I missed it! :(

Yes, those two are very talented and we are so lucky to have them. We each have our own contributions to this blog and that is what makes it so interesting and fun.

DANA, it is 27° here and going up to 46°with light rain showers later. Going down to 33° tonight and some snow showers tomorrow with a high of 40°.I don't think we have any weather worries for now.

I wasn't sure if that has been announced, but i didn't want to take time to read and have the eagle leave. Looks like he/she is eating.
Oh, the bathroom water leak...Yes, it is fixed and I have bright new fixtures. They were 35 years old and the lime that we have in our water left some pretty bad stains on the outside and a terrible build-up inside. That is what caused the leak. (I think) Gene still has to replace the wall he had to take out. It is in our coat closet, so that is no big problem.

Wanda I loved the video of Tesoro. Although it was like watching it a 2nd time. Cause I had actually seen the feeding. Was so excited I couldn't bring myself to pull myself away to call anyone. I was afraid it would make another cam cover the Tesoro cam since I had several up. Great video and yes we have alot of talented people in our blog in many different ways.

Great that he fixed that. The lime in this area is very bad. You always need to clean your water heater. Lime easily takes out the elements in a water heater.
We usually have a water softner when we have brought a house. Here they didn't but we had one put in.
