I'm thinking the "food" we saw in Lib & B's nest is unmelted snow. It disappeared altogether (as a possible menu item) for a while when the sun hit it more directly.

I have a pretty good picture of it from earlier where you can see the red innards (ick) and if I am not mistaken, legs. I will send in an e-mail.
Deb, my uncle (my mother's youngest brother, 3 mos. older than I) and I were both born about 100 miles due north of Sioux City in Minnesota, he in Tracy (Mom's birthplace), I in Currie (Dad's birthplace).
That 100 miles generally makes a pretty noticeable change in the "briskness factor."

Paula when you said that is where I seen it Dana. It is because yesterday I had seen it there. An today I have been watching as best I could. Can't always be at computer; don't have a back up person lol.
You people should have been awake and watching Pete's Pond last night (morning there), when Fatty the Crocodile caught and eventually consumed a huge catfish (with the aid of several large turtles)!

Paula they were feeding it yesterday at Tesoro.
I was wondering today if they had a 2nd hatch at Tesoro. As to why the parent wanted the other parent in. If so within a week we will see. One large head bobbing and one smaller.
The Eagle at BW is now on the Osprey nest.

Jim, Sioux Falls is 50 miles north and has -18 wind chill. I will take my -7. Although we always say once it is below zero, what difference does it make, It is COLD.
It does look as though the mother at Tesoro is feeding at least two different little eagle faces, doesn't it...

Dana - I think Lynda White at Tesoro thinks the hatching was last weekend...
Lynda had e-mailed me that they said hatching started on Wednesday the 9th
Paula that would sound about right. I think today "might" have been another hatch. That is why the parents were both looking in the nest at Tesoro.

My mother, aunt and I drove back in the early 60's to my uncles wedding, which had to be March 11th because the girl's parents had been married that day.
Wow, there was snow everywhere from Utah on east, and they were having a blizzard from Sioux City north (I followed a truck load of pigs about 8-10 ft. behind, or we wouldn't have gotten through).
Anyway, it was beautiful back there and freshly buried in deep snow, but it never got above -10° daytime during the whole week. Hahahaha.

Now I'll be watching how they feed and watching for a 2nd bobble head...it will take a while for this little one if a 2nd hatch today to make its appearance. As it took the 1st one (if 2 now) almost a week.

Andrew is working at Bellacino's and I got a ham and cheese grinder. They are so good, and I get half-price since my baby boy works there which makes it that much better.

Naked mole rats live in colonies similar to bees with a queen that does the reproducing. She resembles a dictator in her rulings. Driven underground by harsh conditions. Live on tubers. Probably more than you ever wanted to know!! Ha.
Wonder if he will leave it in the nest overnight and roost above it tonight...doesn't look like he's gonna eat it tonight...

I'm so amazed how Baby Tessa's' parents have the strength to report updates every day, guess it is therapeutic
I was reading some of the earlier blog on Tessa, and did not realize that this whole downward trend started after she had laser surgery on her eyes, then contacted the RSV virus....poor baby

You're right about how amazing it is for Nancy & Anthony to keep the updates coming for Tessa. These 2 young parents' faith is really being tested and I pray they will be rewarded soon with Tessa being healed by God's hands and that they can take her home!
I just lit a candle for Tessa, and on their site, they have an e-mail address for Tessa, so I sent it to her....I have never felt such out pouring of prayers for a total stranger. I love reading all the prayers on the comment section, restores my faith

Thank you all for praying for Tessa. I have such a full feeling in my heart when I read back thru this blog and others concerning her. Nancy and Anthony have no other children and are totally involved with Tessa. Anthony keeps the updates coming. I hope to meet these wonderful people some day soon.
There is a photo of Baby Tessa on her blog along with nightly update. She is still critical and needs our prayers. Don't forget to keep Sandra's candle lit and light one for Tessa too, while your at it.

Both nests at CC look foggy and dismal.

DANA and WANDA Are you people up there going to get this rain/snow that is coming in from the south today? It even said we here at the beach may get a flake or two after dark.
She must be eating a fish because she is not tearing at it like she would if it were an animal.
I was just wondering as I was feeling sorry for Liberty and Belle if their nest got snowed in again. We do have to get through February and March, so I guess the nest is bound to get more snow.
I was thinking the same thing WANDA as she wasn't having any trouble eating it.
Not calling for snow til Tuesday. Tomorrow is going to be really cold. 26° for a high and 12° for a low.

ooppps a little fuzzy head the other if there was a hatch we won't be able to see its head for about a week. By then we'll be seeing the 1st hatches head real good.
DANA It sure looked like she was feeding two spots. I had it enlarged to full screen to get a closer view. It looked like shw was feeding two different areas. Time will tell.
