I'm thinking the "food" we saw in Lib & B's nest is unmelted snow. It disappeared altogether (as a possible menu item) for a while when the sun hit it more directly.
Deb, my uncle (my mother's youngest brother, 3 mos. older than I) and I were both born about 100 miles due north of Sioux City in Minnesota, he in Tracy (Mom's birthplace), I in Currie (Dad's birthplace).
That 100 miles generally makes a pretty noticeable change in the "briskness factor."
Paula when you said that is where I seen it Dana. It is because yesterday I had seen it there. An today I have been watching as best I could. Can't always be at computer; don't have a back up person lol.
You people should have been awake and watching Pete's Pond last night (morning there), when Fatty the Crocodile caught and eventually consumed a huge catfish (with the aid of several large turtles)!
I was wondering today if they had a 2nd hatch at Tesoro. As to why the parent wanted the other parent in. If so within a week we will see. One large head bobbing and one smaller.
Jim, Sioux Falls is 50 miles north and has -18 wind chill. I will take my -7. Although we always say once it is below zero, what difference does it make, It is COLD.
Yeah, Deb, My mother, aunt and I drove back in the early 60's to my uncles wedding, which had to be March 11th because the girl's parents had been married that day.
Wow, there was snow everywhere from Utah on east, and they were having a blizzard from Sioux City north (I followed a truck load of pigs about 8-10 ft. behind, or we wouldn't have gotten through).
Anyway, it was beautiful back there and freshly buried in deep snow, but it never got above -10° daytime during the whole week. Hahahaha.
Now I'll be watching how they feed and watching for a 2nd bobble head...it will take a while for this little one if a 2nd hatch today to make its appearance. As it took the 1st one (if 2 now) almost a week.
Andrew is working at Bellacino's and I got a ham and cheese grinder. They are so good, and I get half-price since my baby boy works there which makes it that much better.
Ok how that others have seem the little chick at Tesoro. I going to hum a song in the kitchen while I fix dinner. bbl ( : One chick today maybe 2nd chick.......
Naked mole rats live in colonies similar to bees with a queen that does the reproducing. She resembles a dictator in her rulings. Driven underground by harsh conditions. Live on tubers. Probably more than you ever wanted to know!! Ha.
I was reading some of the earlier blog on Tessa, and did not realize that this whole downward trend started after she had laser surgery on her eyes, then contacted the RSV virus....poor baby
You're right about how amazing it is for Nancy & Anthony to keep the updates coming for Tessa. These 2 young parents' faith is really being tested and I pray they will be rewarded soon with Tessa being healed by God's hands and that they can take her home!
I just lit a candle for Tessa, and on their site, they have an e-mail address for Tessa, so I sent it to her....I have never felt such out pouring of prayers for a total stranger. I love reading all the prayers on the comment section, restores my faith
Mits, Jo, Paula.... Thank you all for praying for Tessa. I have such a full feeling in my heart when I read back thru this blog and others concerning her. Nancy and Anthony have no other children and are totally involved with Tessa. Anthony keeps the updates coming. I hope to meet these wonderful people some day soon.
There is a photo of Baby Tessa on her blog along with nightly update. She is still critical and needs our prayers. Don't forget to keep Sandra's candle lit and light one for Tessa too, while your at it. GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE SLEEP TIGHT
GOOD SATURDAY MORNING DANA AND MITS Mits you have a safe trip to the beach. Maybe you'll get out of getting snow there. We are supposed to get a little tonight here.
DANA she'll have a glimpse of a cold and wild stormy ocean, I think, if the storm comes up the coast. :) But she'll be snug as a bug in a run inside enjoying the change of scenery.
GOOD MORNING TO YOU WANDA Wondered when you were going to appear. I thought you would beat me to the puter this morning. I just kept laying there.
DANA and WANDA Are you people up there going to get this rain/snow that is coming in from the south today? It even said we here at the beach may get a flake or two after dark.
I was just wondering as I was feeling sorry for Liberty and Belle if their nest got snowed in again. We do have to get through February and March, so I guess the nest is bound to get more snow.
ooppps a little fuzzy head the other if there was a hatch we won't be able to see its head for about a week. By then we'll be seeing the 1st hatches head real good.
DANA It sure looked like she was feeding two spots. I had it enlarged to full screen to get a closer view. It looked like shw was feeding two different areas. Time will tell.

Yes, it does seem to be a brisk day in Sioux City, Deb.
Probably about the same at your place, I guess?
Jim
Yes, I am only 40 miles from Sioux City. I am usually 1-2 degrees warmer.
Pic of Tesoro chick
IWS forum
DANA Was that your pot lid that was the UFO that flew over my house last night? Everyone was on full alert here! :)
thanks, PAULA.
I'm thinking the "food" we saw in Lib & B's nest is unmelted snow. It disappeared altogether (as a possible menu item) for a while when the sun hit it more directly.
Jim
sure is a proud looking Momma at Tesoro
Thanks PAULA for the heads up on the little chick. Do they still think there is only one there? Too soon to tell probably
I have a pretty good picture of it from earlier where you can see the red innards (ick) and if I am not mistaken, legs. I will send in an e-mail.
Deb, my uncle (my mother's youngest brother, 3 mos. older than I) and I were both born about 100 miles due north of Sioux City in Minnesota, he in Tracy (Mom's birthplace), I in Currie (Dad's birthplace).

Jim
Yep Candy that was it lol everyone in that area and other area close by have been calling in UFO sightings lol
I love it I love it I love it Paula thank you it was there yesterday though. At least someone got a picture of the little white fuzz ball ( :
Paula when you said that is where I seen it Dana. It is because yesterday I had seen it there. An today I have been watching as best I could. Can't always be at computer; don't have a back up person lol.

Jim
I seen in the picture that is right where its little head was. Thank you again for putting the IWS forum link to click on for the picture.
Paula they were feeding it yesterday at Tesoro.
I was wondering today if they had a 2nd hatch at Tesoro. As to why the parent wanted the other parent in. If so within a week we will see. One large head bobbing and one smaller.
The Eagle at BW is now on the Osprey nest.
Jim
Jim, Sioux Falls is 50 miles north and has -18 wind chill. I will take my -7. Although we always say once it is below zero, what difference does it make, It is COLD.
It does look as though the mother at Tesoro is feeding at least two different little eagle faces, doesn't it...
[:~) After last year.
Jim
Dana - I think Lynda White at Tesoro thinks the hatching was last weekend...
Lynda had e-mailed me that they said hatching started on Wednesday the 9th
Paula that would sound about right. I think today "might" have been another hatch. That is why the parents were both looking in the nest at Tesoro.
Yeah, Deb,
My mother, aunt and I drove back in the early 60's to my uncles wedding, which had to be March 11th because the girl's parents had been married that day.
Wow, there was snow everywhere from Utah on east, and they were having a blizzard from Sioux City north (I followed a truck load of pigs about 8-10 ft. behind, or we wouldn't have gotten through).

Jim
I know you all thought I was crazy the other day. When I said I spotted a white fuzzy head. lol
Did anyone discover how to look at two sites with Windows Media Player at the same time??
Jim
Now I'll be watching how they feed and watching for a 2nd bobble head...it will take a while for this little one if a 2nd hatch today to make its appearance. As it took the 1st one (if 2 now) almost a week.
Okay, I am back. Has the eagle been in our nest the entire time?
Not me. If anyone does, let me know too. I have to switch between Tesoro, PH and Norfolk (when it gets back on).
Yes Sharon it has.
Andrew is working at Bellacino's and I got a ham and cheese grinder. They are so good, and I get half-price since my baby boy works there which makes it that much better.
Ok how that others have seem the little chick at Tesoro. I going to hum a song in the kitchen while I fix dinner. bbl ( : One chick today maybe 2nd chick.......
ok, now I'm hungry....
You know, you can look at whatever that is laying in the nest and make a million different things out of it.
Sharon - Belle ate the first lunch, then Lib left and came back with his own lunch :)
right now to me it looks like a naked mole rat
I hope it is not someone's pet!
LOL Mits!
Parent at Tesoro very alert....looking this way
That is one ugly animal. I had to look it up as I hadn't ever heard of it before.
Deb, you can usually see them on the National Zoo cams, but that one is off-line right now
Deb - you talking about the nekked mole rat?? Really ugly animal.
lol.....that's right needed my WVA accent, nekid.....one ugly animal
I saw that site when I googled it.
I think this one may be a direct descendant of George!
not sure what the purpose of that animal is, but I guess there is a reason
Looking more like a squirrel on it's back to me
Feeding at Tesoro
Maybe he is waiting for it to be a squirrelcicle.
Could be a rabbit...something small with fur
Naked mole rats live in colonies similar to bees with a queen that does the reproducing. She resembles a dictator in her rulings. Driven underground by harsh conditions. Live on tubers. Probably more than you ever wanted to know!! Ha.
Wonder if he will leave it in the nest overnight and roost above it tonight...doesn't look like he's gonna eat it tonight...
Forgot to say native to East Africa.
He is looking down at it.
All you ever wanted to know about a nekked mole rat but was afraid to ask! :)
Now both are there!
Looks to me like Liberty has returned.
Jim
Just needed a little motivation to get started, I guess.
That was the abbreviated version, I could go on and on. (HA) The things I learn by being on this site!

BRB -
Guess Belle gets the din din?

Parent eating at Tesoro
Eagle on BWE.
beautiful sunset here tonight....nice colors
LOL Jim - you might think our cam is frozen, the way Belle has her head down on that food....hardly coming up for air!
Certainly looks like Belle is eating the object in question, whether it looks like food or not...
Jim
Heading home, catch ya later...
later Paula..
Well, she finished that supper reasonably quick!
looks like she is going to let the poor guy have leftovers.

Mine too Mits.
And now it is back with 1 gone.

They sure are and I am lovin' it!
Talk to you people later...got to take care of business.
Jim
just a few short weeks, Sharon and then the fun begins:)
see you Jim.
deer at PA
Moose cam didn't come up today. Either the moose are gone or Pook had a bad day with her broken foot.
I just went to that site, Deb, and thought the same thing
The moose cam was up earlier this morning ladies. Don't know if/when it went down.
Now I went back to it and I think you ladies ARE RIGHT that is same picture I seen this am. Sorry about that. You ladies forgive me?
I'm so amazed how Baby Tessa's' parents have the strength to report updates every day, guess it is therapeutic
I was reading some of the earlier blog on Tessa, and did not realize that this whole downward trend started after she had laser surgery on her eyes, then contacted the RSV virus....poor baby
I did another candle for Sandra as mine was about to go out
You're right about how amazing it is for Nancy & Anthony to keep the updates coming for Tessa. These 2 young parents' faith is really being tested and I pray they will be rewarded soon with Tessa being healed by God's hands and that they can take her home!

Thank you all for praying for Tessa. I have such a full feeling in my heart when I read back thru this blog and others concerning her. Nancy and Anthony have no other children and are totally involved with Tessa. Anthony keeps the updates coming. I hope to meet these wonderful people some day soon.

I thought I saw hanky panky....I'm off to the beach...as Candy would say, later gators....
Talk to us after you get to the beach. Or are you already there and going outside?
leaving in a few minutes Dana, just trying to clear out e-mails..
Drive carefully Mits and check in with us at times from down there.
GOOD MORNING LADIES...
I see we have a visitor.
I remember I think that it has been awhile since you been there. Enjoy and have a great peaceful glimpse of that big ocean. ( :
GOOD SATURDAY MORNING DANA AND MITS Mits you have a safe trip to the beach. Maybe you'll get out of getting snow there. We are supposed to get a little tonight here.
Good Morning Wanda yes we do...if you read a little back you'll see things were happening in that nest of ours.
Good Morning Candy....do you have a long weekend?
Helen, Lucky you. I love the ocean in the winter. ENJOY.
DANA Yes, I have off Monday and Tuesday is a work day for us, which I used an annual leave and took it off too. I'm getting reckless in my old age. :)
Those two are getting in a lot of practice. LOL
Candy that makes for a nice longgggg weekend.
Candy, Capt. Gene got up at the same time as I, so we had coffee together. I almost missed the show.
Deer on deer cam
eagle at BWO
They really look LoveyDovey this morning.
The deer with the swollen front left leg is on the cam
Lib says "what, all that hard work and no eggs yet!"
one gone
Getting ready to take off.
Tesoro looks wet
WANDA Tell Capt. Eagle good morning and way to go. What a way to start the day; together in coffee and presence.
Eagle Back
BOTH BACK TOGETHER.
DANA It is one long weekend, and I am excited as I can spend it watching our beautiful eagles and be with you wonderful ladies.
We very seldom wake up at the same time. I sit at the computer til he gets up so as not to awaken him.
Getting ready for take-off again.
Tell Gene "hello"
Sun shining on eagle in Tesoro
Is that breakfast under Belle?
Tesoro does look wet this morning, but then I think I see some sun shining of the eagle parents head. Maybe they'll have a better day than we will.
Both nests at CC look foggy and dismal.
Looks like whatever is in the middle of the nest is being eaten.
WANDA I came sneaking out to the puter this morning only to find my husband asleep on the couch. :(
one left in our nest again
Turkey time at Pa.
Lib is not dining with Belle. Maybe he has gone to get some more.
Turkeys and deer on deer cam
I sure wish that cam in Pa would stay still and not keep going back and forth all the time.
Whatever that is, Belle seems to be enjoing it. She is barely coming up for air.
Eaglet in CC I is stretching its wings....cute
It would be nice if Belle would turn around so we could see her eating.
Maine nest is clear of snow
Eagle still at BWO
DANA and WANDA Are you people up there going to get this rain/snow that is coming in from the south today? It even said we here at the beach may get a flake or two after dark.
She must be eating a fish because she is not tearing at it like she would if it were an animal.
I was just wondering as I was feeling sorry for Liberty and Belle if their nest got snowed in again. We do have to get through February and March, so I guess the nest is bound to get more snow.
I was thinking the same thing WANDA as she wasn't having any trouble eating it.
Not calling for snow til Tuesday. Tomorrow is going to be really cold. 26° for a high and 12° for a low.
We are getting a good view of it now. Can't tell. It looks like she ate the middle out of it. Must be part of a fish; like the head down
Belle gone
She must have a belly full. She'll be back a little later. And so will I. BBL
TWO EAGLES in BWO
Tesoro parent moving. Maybe we'll see a fuzzy head.
Parent at Tesoro feeding chick/chicks
Candy I still think they had a 2nd hatch yesterday.
ooppps a little fuzzy head the other if there was a hatch we won't be able to see its head for about a week. By then we'll be seeing the 1st hatches head real good.
DANA It sure looked like she was feeding two spots. I had it enlarged to full screen to get a closer view. It looked like shw was feeding two different areas. Time will tell.
EAGLE back in our nest.
yep Candy got it wonder what is so distracting that they start eating then stop to look around and stop eating????????????
Looks like some more breakfast.
It looks smallish like Liberty. Thought maybe he came back to finish Belle's breakfast, but hasn't touched it so far.
Maybe not. I think it was just a shadow.
Can hear the eagles being vocal at Maine
Eagle at Tesoro calling for a shift change. Sure hope it's not an intruder in the area.
Decided to chomp down on some food again.
Eagle in our nest is going to finish off breakfast, I guess.
DANA Tesoro eagle seems quite agitated, doesn't it.
TWO EAGLES in our nest
Belle has arrived
What a lovely couple
Is Liberty giving Belle some space or is he getting ready for take off?
Lib gone
Belle gone
yep gone and still food in nest
the weather is their refrigator
Tesoro parent is antsy. She is up and about again. Maybe can sense the change of the guard.
Is anyone getting good pics from C1 and CC11? Mine are still very foggy or hazy, whichever; not clear at all.
EAGLE in our nest
Eagle is back!
Morning, Ladies. Was trying to catch up on the blog...
It looks like Liberty again. Ok Belle, come on back. It is time to play house.
GOOD MORNING BAULA! Our birds have been in and out.
Morning, Candy Dana and Wanda.
I hear CC1 is back on! Great news.
