GOOD MORNING STEVEN!!---Thanks for the new thread---COLD a.m. here in WV----BLACK DAY IN WV----WV FOOTBALL COACH is moving to MICHIGAN!!----ENJOY YOUR DAY!!--
GOOD MORNING EAGLE BUDDIES!!!---CONGRATS! WANDA--#1 today & always------HELLO RED---COME ON OVER---It's a DARK COLD a.m. here in WV--temp. 29° now!!----SCHOOLS in area on 2 hour delay!!! ENJOY YOUR DAY!!!
PA had tons of school cancellations and delays this am, sure the rads weere a mess when Suzanne got up to check. She said she had been catching up on her sleep with all this time off.
Well, Norma, I figure if people don't have a wreath by now, they're not getting one, so it's time for me to stop making wreaths and get some Xmas things done.
Norma, this is the first time I have not put them out, and I miss them, but we will be at the kids for Christmas and away right after New Years.....I miss the little buggers, and so does hubby, he did bring one of the musical ones down and plays it every time he passes by.
CHECK THE FLAMINGOS!!---Beautiful site!!------They are all in the water & "moving around"---with some "black"? birds flying back & forth!!---The sun is reflecting on the water & it sparkles like diamonds!!
December 14-16: Tian Tian's Cherry Eye Tian Tian, our adult male giant panda, has developed a condition called “cherry eye,” involving his right eye. This perfectly describes the protrusion of the third eyelid, with its associated tear gland, out of the inner corner of the eye. The condition is usually caused by infection or trauma; certain breeds of dogs are more prone to it than others. Due to the sudden onset, we believe Tian may have injured it interacting with Mei Xiang and/or hit the corner of his eye with a bamboo stalk. Tian is being treated with steroid and antibiotic drops for now, to see if the gland and lid will retract back into place. He will remain separated from Mei Xiang so that the exposed tissue is not harmed further by any rough play. Now we all squint when looking at him. Amazingly, Tian is completely unaffected and has not seemed to notice anything!
On the morning of December 16, Tian Tian was anesthetized for a thorough eye examination. Due to the condition of his third eyelid, it was decided that it was best to remove it. The third eyelid is rarely seen and covers the eye usually when it is closed. During the anesthesia, Tian received a complete physical, including semen collection. Any time a Zoo animal is anesthetized, we try to collect as many samples and as much data as we can. Tian appears to be in excellent health. We will await all the lab tests to confirm this morning’s assessment.
Thanks for the update DR. MITS!!---That's so sad---hope all goes well for him!!---He just tangled with the WRONG FEMALE!!---MEI will miss him---I bet!!----KEEP US UPDATED!!!
I'm a little tiffed at Mei, I like Tian alot. I know we can't give them human characteristics, but he just seems nicer in my book, just a happy-go-lucky guy, living with a witch.
HELEN---I'm sorry---I meant to say MEI was always pushed away when she wanted to play with her parent----& She pushed TIA away when she wasn't in the mood to play when him!!----That's they way she was reared----(okay)
Good Morning; It's good to be here this morning. We had one BAD snow storm here with lots of high wind, and snow drifts everywhere. We also had some light rain on top of that. I am glad to be here today.
Don't think Mei Xiang had much interaction with her parents, she and Tian came here when she was 2 and he was 3, and they have always been together, other pandas in captivity only come together to mate
GOOD MORNIN' INDIANA EAGLE NESTING---DAVE!---We got very little snow--Sleet & ice---which melted yesterday & but the WINDS WERE TERRIFYING!!---Now it's 31° & a wee bit slick---
Hello - I've been in and then before I get a chance to say Good Morning something calls me away from here.... I am headed out for a few hours.. Thanks for the photos of this morning's quick visit, Mits.
Paula, you need one of those trees with the lights already on it. My Mom got one and she loves it. There are some things she just can't do anymore (reaching and bending and stooping) because it causes her too much pain. This way, all she has to do is hang a few ornaments on it and it looks very festive.
I had some luck shopping today. The best thing was finding 5 Nicholas Sparks book for my Mom that she hasn't read. It is hard to buy something for someone her age; her new-found love of reading has made it easier for me this year. Gene and I went to Ryans for dinner (no crab legs), so I didn't have to cook. Now I am so tired I can't keep my eyes open. I know I will sleep well tonight and I hope YOU ALL DO TOO. GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
It should be bed-time here, too, but my Vikings just took the lead, so I can't go to bed yet!! Hope you all have nice melting weather tomorrow and see the Eagles in the nest.
Good morning, world. Back to work for me! No snow, no ice, no more downed limbs or trees. Missed you guys, and have a lot to read to catch up. Cold out, but no wind for once3, 18° in PA, 28° here in VA. Will have to go open some cams. All have a great eagle/panda day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly! I see Steven had his eyes to the sky and saw an adult bald eagle the other day! How cool that must have been!!!
Good morning, Suzanne. Great to see you back. [:=)}
Sounds like some of you folks back east really got hit hard by the storm.
I think we are due for rain again for the next 2-3 days. If it continues like this, we may get a lot more rain than last year. It's good for us out here.
I have been writing and addressing Christmas cards, am tired now and will probably hit the rack soon.
Morning, Jim, nice to be back. Hope I didn't miss you, have been doing other things and not checking the blog. Man, the harder I try to get caught up, the behinder I get! Doesn't pay to stay home! We got snow, then ice, then terrible winds, but today it's almost nice out. Warm up a few degrees and it would be. You are doing something I haven't even started! Christmas Cards. I am so far behind this year it's ridiculous! If you go back to bed, sleep well, Jim.
Butterfly Mama-Karla called me Saturday and said she awoke to the sound of falling trees at 3am and they continued to fall all morning. Being up on a mountain, she alway gets weather extremes. I hope she moves back down the mountian. It makes me nervous when I think of her driving in bad weather.
Wow, sleeping at the wheel, I guess I was! Morning, Dave and Wanda! Yup, lots of ice, but gone now, lots of wind, but also finished! I hope! Have lots of branches down at my house (well, had), and saw lots coming down this morning. I hate to hear the trees falling, I used to work on a mountain, and you could hear them falling in the ice and wind. But roads are clear now, still snow on sides where it was plowed, but not in my area, up the mtn a little bit. No, don't have anybody that works with my customer, so I have LOTS to catch up on! Gonna be a busy rest of the week.
Good morning all. Up early here. Cough and cold won't let me go back to sleep. Thought I would check in on the bLOG folks and hope to see Suzanne in here. Yep there she is busy as a bee but she is here safe and sound.
I am goign to work on a DVD today for my family about our special weekend and the eagles we went to see along with mylatest trip there. Such fun memories. Takes a while to burn them but time to start that project.
Enjoy your eagle viewing. Lets all step out for a cup of coffee or tea...and you know what might happen.
Morning Glo and Candy! Glo, I'm sorry to hear you are still ill with your cold, or is it flu? Sure hope you get well by Christmas! Candy, I always seem to miss you, you are too quick popping in and out! Just like the eagles sometimes, in and out very quickly! Haven't seen anyone yete this morning, maybe it's their turn to sleep in!!
GOOD MORNING GLO... I tried that this morning, but it hasn't worked yet. Maybe it will work for you (steping out for coffee). Mits and I did that Sat. I think, and it worked. It works often for mits. I think she has some kind of inner-connection to our eagles.
Looks like an eagle in Tesoro... I think. Have to look between the branches, you can see a white head. Bai and Squiggles are sleeping in the hallway, and I guess Mei and Tai are eating bamboo. Saw where poor Tian had to have eye surgery, but didn't read it all. Poor thing. I'm HOPING he's separate from Mei, she plays so rough! Squirrels are pigging out on something.
LOL, yeah, Mei is very rough, and spoiled! Always wants her way!! Sure hope Tian heals quickly, and there are no after effects or side effects from his surgery. Just finished reading the article, so I'm guessing they are still separate. Probably will be until the vets get the results of all the lab tests back and his eye heals completely!

Suz, it is soooo good to have you back! We really missed you.
We now know we won't have to worry about you traveling in nasty, dangerous weather conditions.
I'll bet you have tons of work to catch up on or do you have someone who fills in for you?
Butterfly Mama-Karla called me Saturday and said she awoke to the sound of falling trees at 3am and they continued to fall all morning. Being up on a mountain, she alway gets weather extremes. I hope she moves back down the mountian. It makes me nervous when I think of her driving in bad weather.
Time for me to turn the coffee pot on and the heat up. BB

GOOD TUESDAY MORNING SUZANNE, DAVE WANDA AND GLO. We finally got Suzanne back safe and sound!!!!! You were really missed by all the group SUZANNE.
I haven't time to stay on this morning as I have to get the classroom ready for the kids. Just wanted to check in to see if you were back SUZANNE.
Have a super day all.
Good Morning Candy...
Yep, she pops in and out like Belle & Lib do sometimes. LOL
Good morning everybody:) Nice to see you back, Suzanne. Cold here, only 17°. MT nests, I'll bet they show up as soon as I head to the bus stop.
Morning, Megan! I LOVE MY WREATHS! They are beautiful. You do such pretty work.
So far, nothing. Were they here yesterday?
Squirrels on PA cam, 3 of them!
Yup, eagle in Tesoro, head just popped up! Look hard.
Mits is outdone with Mei. She said Tian is a likable, easy-going fellow and it's too bad he has to live with a Witch! She is so funny.
Thanks, Suzanne:) We had 2 visits yesterday, one in the early am, and 1 around lunchtime, they were kissin....
Awwwww, Megan, how cool was that! I'll have to go check and see if there are pics in Momsters. That's neat!
WE HAVE A NEW THREAD LADIES....COME ON OVER.
