Norma, I'm listening to a book called SlipKnot, forget who wrote it, but she's a female. Pretty good. Someone I never bought a book by before, never heard of her. But my authors can't write them fast enough for me, so now I'm into new authors. That's not all bad! Yes, I finish a book, even if it's bad. Sometimes it may take me a while...I may read several books and go back to the bad one, but eventually I'll finish it.

Its 16 degress here but the ice storm from over the weekend actually had a few hours to melt yesterday morning before this recent blast of much colder air came in. its gonna bring the eagles down to the river and the dams though and thats the good news :)

No, Jo, mentioned it earlier on here, get an error that page has moved. I even googled it, but it takes you to the pixcontroller, which is no longer there. I'm just hoping that maybe they got hit with the storm that missed me, and maybe it's just down. They did get some serious snow out west and north of me, and that's where the cam is.
Glo, I gave animal adoptions as Christmas gifts last year to my relatives, and they've asked for the same thing this year. I have 3 nephews, almost 7, 5, and 2, and that's what they want again this year. I'm thrilled that they liked them.

Yes, Glo, I'm trying. I got them magazine subs also this year, from National Wildlife Federation. Just the right ages to get involved. Also got the 2 oldest a Butterfly Kit, also from National Wildlife I think. Hopefully, they'll arrive in the spring and the kids can see them from larve to butterflies.

Norma, I think there are great opportunities out there to get kids involved. If they get interested and make it fun when they're little, they won't lose the interest. And if you adopt an animal at National Wildlife Federation for $50 or up, you also get a stuffed toy of that animal. Last year for the 2 oldest, they wanted Snow Leopards, and it came with Snow Leopards "family" so each of the kids got their own leopard! I think it's great.. Just waiting to hear what they want to adopt this year. Rain Forest land is also great, I may look into that too. Did you get it off the RainForest site? Daily clicks?
Our ZZ Precious is sound asleep all by her lonesome. Looks like Mei and Tian are waiting for treats, and all kinds of critters on Africam!

Going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing that's a video we're seeing on the Africam. Time is 6:30 in the evening, and the animals are still there in the daylight. Since it's dark there now, must be a video or something they have on. Kinda neat to watch, though.

Hi, eagle lovers. About all I can say is BRRRRRRR! Up here at the office it is 23 degrees, lightly snowing and the wind is howling like it does at an Antarctic research station in the dead of winter! It was 34 when I left home in the valley this morning and 27 when I got up here at the office at 9:30. There were dozens of bear "hunters" along the road on my way up here this morning. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with them if they actually got out in the woods and hunted the bear, instead of sitting in their pick-ups and tracking their dogs with their antennas in the truck!

well I only caught the tail end of our visit this afternoon. I decided to go looking for eagles and well I was right. The cold has brought many more of them in so I was gone for quite a while. I so love watching an dlistening to them. I will upload the pictures form today soon at the Outdoor Critters area of the forum soon. Got the little hummers up now. well they aren't really so little. Gosh they have grown up fast.
Dana - Suz said she couldn't get the deer cam this morning, either!

Our little cuties ZZ is moving all around. Trying to get her feet. Now the camera changed to dark and she is just laying there now. That was so so cute.
I especially enjoy the young eagles too.They are each uniquely different. Like Dana they too always remind me of Big Boy, Ms In Between and Spunky.
Dana, there are white tail deer that come right in with the moose to feed.
Marcia & I have a good many photos over on the FTLOE site. There was a sighting of Elk but I haven't seen any yet.

Glo, I enjoyed your pictures. I, too , look forward to when the eagles are here. I checked on them today and saw 4 adults and 2 juveniles, but didn't take any pictures, as I was on my way to a Christmas concert. Darn! They are moving closer to the dam, so hopefully I will be able to get some good close-up pictures. I wish my boat weren't put away for winter, then you could really get some good shots. Good FREEZING morning, world. It is snowing in PA and MD, but stopped somewhere between Thurmont and Frederick. It is also extremely windy! Flags are straight out, and ya gotta hold onto the car! Sorta like it was last night going home, very windy. 31° at my house, 34° here at work, but just as windy.
Seems they started moving computers yesterday afternoon, so I imagine this one will move today. Do not know what time, or how long I will be on during/ after the move. If things are standard, won't be back after the move, but hopefully tomorrow!
OH! You can skip that stupid commercial on SD!!! It has a SKIP>> down on bottom right, click it, and it turns it off. Bai and Precious are sleeping soundly in the birthing den! Our nest MT, of course, and nothing much else open.

Just opened cams, do we have sod balls in BW? Seeing something black there, but wait till daylight. PA cam is still MIA, not found. Darn, liked that cam. No owls in hotel, didn't see any there all day yesterday, finally just closed it. Bai left, our big girl ZZ is sound asleep. None of the NZ pandas are sleeping on cam, so they're snoozing in private. Moose cam appears to be on, it's totally dark there. Thought they turned it off at night, but what do I know.

NZ pandas are awake, one of the parents is eating something, and Tai is sacked out on his tummy on a table! Lots of litter by the table, so whatever it was, he's eaten it already.
The cam at Pete's Pond has been on the same sleeping stork ever since I opened the site. Maybe the camera man is taking a siesta himself.

Looks like parent is licking a paper bag. By the looks of the litter around Tai's table, looks like he had a paper bag too. I've never seen him lay like this, he's on his tummy, head on his paws, like some people lay on the floor watching TV. Unreal! He's too cute. Wish I could take pics!!!

Good morning everyone. I didn't miss Lib and Belle today I see. Well if its that windy there I hope they do just stay put somewhere safe and dry. Hope your day is good. I am heading for coffee and dog treats. Have a snow advisory for the area this afternoon and evening and I get to go to work. Has the makings of a long day indeed. Ah but yesterday with the local eagles now that was awesome so I guess I will take the weather as it comes. It does bring in some beauty too.

We're gonna get your winter tomorrow. Supposed to start snowing sometime Wed afternoon and continue through till Thurs morning or afternoon. I'm thinking I'm taking the day off Thursday, that's my peak travel time, and don't like doing that in the dark AND snow! They're even supposed to get some snow here in VA! UGH. You stay safe! Hope you don't get snowed in!
We have lots lf little birds in and out of the nest, so I'm guessing Liberty and Belle have stepped out for a bit. May be down at the Potomac River Diner...
It is 30° here, feels like 17°and the wind is 22mph. Not eagle visit weather. Maybe later this morning.
Karla sounds better, but I think having been sick for so long, it has worn her out. She really doesn't take care of herself (she doesn't have time).
I have a picture of Karla and Denise (our older daughter) on my blog. I messed the whole page up and don't know how to fix it. I will try later today. Picts of me and Gene shouldn't even be there.
Oh brrr, Wanda. That wind is really whipping around! I'm glad Karla is sounding better, hopefully that's a good sign! I'll go check out your blog, see your pics.

Was just going to comment that our little Precious was alone, but Bai walked in...backwards... dragging bamboo. She put the bamboo down and picked up Squiggles who she is now holding. They are adorable to watch. Bamboo still waiting in doorway where Bai dropped it!
Can anybody get Maine up? Haven't been able to all day. Wonder if it's covered in snow, like it was so grey yesterday.
