BOB see you are a Hoya fan, and Jill is a Terp. so now we have 4 different teams to root for except when we play eachother. :) My only wish before I die is to attend a UNC basketball game in the Dean Dome. I have been to football games when my son went to school there, but he never stood in a line to get basketball tickets.
I see where our Liberty and Belle were a no show. They must have been courting each other high in the sky; soaring with each other. :) They did stay for a long time yesterday and did a lot of nestorations. They needed a day off.
Skins hanging on 22-20. Just got back from a Dock Dogs competition at the Easton Waterfowl festival. Got some shots. Also got some kind of hawk at Pickering Creek with a white stripe on its tail and white spots on its wings.
Rats is right! Actually it was a platform over a portable pool. Two events - a long jump (longest one I saw was 15' 9") and another, extreme vertical where the jump and try to grab a toy hanging from a post (5' 8").
The best was the one who kept running up and stopping, looking back as if to say, "It's too cold to jump in the water!"
Paula - you and DIL outdid yourselves by doing the entire train! I just expected to see Thomas the engine - you did a beautiful job on him! Video is sure a keeper! Cohen was very proud of his ability to blow out the candle again & again & again & again! He thought that was the best part!
Jo - Almost all retrievers. There were lots of crafts all over the festival including wood carvings. Here's the bird I saw at Pickering Creek. Maybe an immature eagle? I have not seen one marked like this before though. Any guesses:
Well Candy - I was just watching & didn't say much! Don't think I did it.
Bob Beautiful picture - those white feathers make it hard to guess as to what bird it is.. Could be an immature eagle - but the white feathers are confusing me....
Boy, how lucky is she? Lucky duck!! I'd love to go to a pro football game or the NASCAR races just once. I did attend a hockey game between the Islanders and Rangers in Madison Square Garden way back before moving down here. I was just like a kid, I was sooooo excited.
I spent a lot of this afternoon looking at the videos on Dolly's site. They were very interesting to watch. I never have the time to do something like that now.
Immature birds have a broad, white tail band with a black edge, and large white patches on the undersides of the wings at the base of the primary feathers. Sometimes a white line extends from this large patch toward the body. In their second year, this white patch becomes smaller.
Well now that that is settled, what else is new besides Mits getting angry because her Ravens are losing. :)
PAULA I have been sitting here trying to make a tiny url from a paper that I copied off one of your emails you sent me. I am getting the bold and blue underline, but have to work more on the tiny url. It might seem simple to you, but for a Kindergarten mind, it is confusing. I won't give up tho. :)
Candy - you actually don't need the tinyurl. Just cut and paste the url that you want inbetween the " and the " where it says "your url". Make sure you delete the words your url. You are putting your url in place of those words.
< a href="your url"> short name for clickable link < /a>
Sorry gals, I am not explaining myself too good. I also have on the paper how to bold typing, make font blue and underlined, and making a work come up in italics. Also on that paper was your description of how to make a tinyURL. You gave me the web site to go to. I have gotten as far as putting the words TinyURL in my tools on the top part of my computer. Don't worry about it. I'll work on it and get it sooner or later. Like I said, a Kindergarten mind plus an old one on top of that, makes for a mixed up brain. :)
I think I am going to call it a day. Have been on here most of the day today again. It has been fun, but my back is starting to kill me, and my husband hasn't seen me all day. :) You all have a peaceful night. God willing, tomorrow will bring a new day with new experiences. GOOD NIGHT ALL!!
Paula, could you please check out your emails and take notice of the power point shows you have received. I need somewhere to just save/store them as they are usually too large to go through to everyone on the eaglet_momstersgroup.com emails.....
It's a cold, rainy night here in Martinsburg. Grandson is back home. Nothing going on with cams. Nothing left to do but go to bed. GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE SLEEP WELL
While I was writing the last, the Croc showed up in the same spot as the stork, the bird hopped out of the water, then the Croc proceeded to climb out of the water a few feet from the stork and is sunning himself on the bank.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE-- It is still cold and rainy here in Martinsburg/Shepherdstown. Those eagles need to come and visit their nest to see if the rain did any damage!
No fog here. It's funny up here though. You can go up and over the next ridge and it's so thick you can't see the front of the truck. Heavy fog lingered all day on Saturday.
Good Morning Mits, Wanda, Karla, those coming in and watchers.
Hee hee Wanda whose on first?
Bob loved your picture of immature golden eagle. That Paula, Lisa, and Candy helped you identify. I would go back to Pickering Creek while eagle is there. Beautiful picture. You must capture more and contragulations for that photo!!!!
GOOD MORNING DANA-- That was a beautiful shot that BOB got, wasn't it? He is sooo talented. I bought an adorable photo of his when we went to Open House. Don't know if you saw it or not. It was a Mama Fox and Baby peeking out from behind her. Would love another photo to go along with it.
Actually I didn't get to see it. Everyone was scooping up the photos. lol Bob's photos are so awesome. That one sounds so cute Karla. Sorry I didn't get to see it.
Yes I did know that. Bob was very generous. It will help Our Nest alot.
Ed and I spoke to him as we walked along during Open House. I ask him if he was coming to the Rumsey Tavern. He said yes. So So bad that he forgot the name of the place later. He would have been a GREAT addition to our dinner.
Karla I just seen your picture you brought of the fox and the one peeking out. I was looking at Bob's site and there it was.Really cute precious picture

GOOD MORNING JO, PAULA, NORMA, JIM AND BOB QUINN.Just got back in from mass and grocery shopping.
BOB see you are a Hoya fan, and Jill is a Terp. so now we have 4 different teams to root for except when we play eachother. :) My only wish before I die is to attend a UNC basketball game in the Dean Dome. This was the best part of the Birthday Party!
Happy 2nd Birthday Cohen
Go Skins!
I'm trying to keep an eye on the game...12-7 Skins, so far. Eldest son is attending the game...sitting in end zone seats..
Skins 22-Eagles 13
GO SKINS!!!!!
Skins hanging on 22-20. Just got back from a Dock Dogs competition at the Easton Waterfowl festival. Got some shots. Also got some kind of hawk at Pickering Creek with a white stripe on its tail and white spots on its wings.
Uh oh Skins fumble!
Challenge!
Rats!
Eagles came from behind and stole the game from the Skins! Oh well!
Cool, Bob. Were they jumping off the dock?
Rats is right! Actually it was a platform over a portable pool. Two events - a long jump (longest one I saw was 15' 9") and another, extreme vertical where the jump and try to grab a toy hanging from a post (5' 8").
The best was the one who kept running up and stopping, looking back as if to say, "It's too cold to jump in the water!"
That's a heck of a long jump for a dog! Looking forward to your pics!
Were they all retrievers or other breeds of dogs, Bob. Did you see any wood carving exhibits at the festival?
Paula - you and DIL outdid yourselves by doing the entire train! I just expected to see Thomas the engine - you did a beautiful job on him! Video is sure a keeper! Cohen was very proud of his ability to blow out the candle again & again & again & again!
He thought that was the best part!
EAGLE ALERT IN OUR NEST!
WHERE IS EVERYONE? EAGLE ALERT!!!
EAGLE ALERT OUR NEST!!
Jo - Almost all retrievers. There were lots of crafts all over the festival including wood carvings. Here's the bird I saw at Pickering Creek. Maybe an immature eagle? I have not seen one marked like this before though. Any guesses:
Pickering Creek Bird
BOTH IN THE NEST NOW!
two birds now?!
They are here to wish us a Happy Veterans Day!
WOW
LOOK AT THAT BEAUTIFUL EAGLE COUPLE
IN OUR NEST
Don't you just love it when they visit us together, Paula?
BELLE IN FRONT, LIB IN BACK
Lib is on his perch at the 1 oclock
Lib is out of there
Lib is gone now
Darn, belle is gone now too
Didn't take Belle long to decide NOT to stay there alone......
Looked like she was watching him off the back of the nest. Wonder if he picks the roosting spot for the night?
That was a quick visit. I missed it.
BOTH GONE. WHO ON HERE SCARED THEM AWAY? :)
Wonder if they will make another appearance tonight? I guess that was their first visit of the day today, no?
Possibly, Bob. Could be molting.
Bet Lisa could ID it.
Well Candy - I was just watching & didn't say much! Don't think I did it.
Bob Beautiful picture - those white feathers make it hard to guess as to what bird it is.. Could be an immature eagle - but the white feathers are confusing me....
JO When I first looked at it, I wondered if Bob's bird was an immature eagle.
My thought exactly - Lisa can ID it!!
Lisa placed a link to a Bird Cinema
Very entertaining.........
I'll send Lisa a note. Here's another shot.
Pickering Creek Bird
Maybe we have a little bit of a Mixed Breed here! lol Now if it only had a reddish head!!! lol
I don't know Bob, the head almost seems too small for an eagle.
2nd qtr of the Ravens game - I think Mits is there - Bengals 3 Ravens 0
Boy, how lucky is she? Lucky duck!! I'd love to go to a pro football game or the NASCAR races just once. I did attend a hockey game between the Islanders and Rangers in Madison Square Garden way back before moving down here. I was just like a kid, I was sooooo excited.
I spent a lot of this afternoon looking at the videos on Dolly's site. They were very interesting to watch. I never have the time to do something like that now.
Bob, I think it might be a golden eagle!
Hawk Mountain guide
I think it was an immature golden eagle, Bob.
What do you all think?
Immature golden eagle picture
Golden eagles.
Immature birds have a broad, white tail band with a black edge, and large white patches on the undersides of the wings at the base of the primary feathers. Sometimes a white line extends from this large patch toward the body. In their second year, this white patch becomes smaller.
Ok, so I have been searching for golden eagle pics and found these bald eagle pics at pbase.
bald eagle pics
PAULA I think you have a pretty good
pic to vote for the golden eagle.
COHEN is sure a cutie pie on his second birthday celebration. He looked like a happy camper. That cake was adorable, too. Thanks for sharing with us,

PAULA Try this site. It has a perfect undershot of Bob Quinn's bird.
PAULA you have mail.
Lisa agrees. She thinks it might be an immature golden eagle. She's checking with another expert.
How cool is that! It would be my first.
Thanks, Candy. That is the perfect shot! I forgot about that website.
Bob, check out Candy's link!
Congrats on your decision that Bob
captured an immature golden eagle at Pickering Creek! You'll need to return there to get some more photos.
15-0 Bengals 4th qtr
Mits is not going to be very happy with the Ravens! nor will anyone from Baltimore - especially my grandson!
Good example Candy! Seems pretty close. Wish I had gotten some better shots.
Now I'm torn between going to BW tomorrow or back to Pickering Creek.
1 Touchdown less then 2 mins left in game - Ravens got too little too late
Candy - you actually don't need the tinyurl. Just cut and paste the url that you want inbetween the " and the " where it says "your url". Make sure you delete the words your url. You are putting your url in place of those words.
< a href="your url"> short name for clickable link < /a>
Candy - it will automatically make your post bold and blue!

Thanks for all your help gals. Tomorrow is another day. :):)
Good night, Candy. Congrats on your bold, blue and italics!
Good Night Candy! Glad you enjoyed a full day on this blog - Was great hearing from you!
JO--You did a GREAT job with the slide show!
PAULA--Video of your Grandson: PRICELESS!
Wanda you did receive the slide show(s) sent to your personal email address - NOT the eaglet_momster address RIGHT?
Paula, could you please check out your emails and take notice of the power point shows you have received. I need somewhere to just save/store them as they are usually too large to go through to everyone on the eaglet_momstersgroup.com emails.....
What's your suggestion.
Yes, JO, I got the slide show in my regular e-mail. Very nicely done.
Early to bed doesn't guarantee early to rise! Remember that you Early Birds when you don't hear from me until 10ish in the morning! lol
Good Night Everyone
Peace to You & Yours
Prayers being said for everyone's needs
No Suzanne on Monday morning but Candy is off and will have coffee with Wanda & Karla, I bet!
Good night!
It's a cold, rainy night here in Martinsburg. Grandson is back home. Nothing going on with cams. Nothing left to do but go to bed.
GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE
SLEEP WELL
GOOD EVENING.
There's an unusual bird...maybe a stork...fishing in the shallows at Pete's Place.
Jim
While I was writing the last, the Croc showed up in the same spot as the stork, the bird hopped out of the water, then the Croc proceeded to climb out of the water a few feet from the stork and is sunning himself on the bank.
Jim
The stork's fishing technique is very interesting. Drags it's large, opened beak through the shallows, grabbing and eating whatever its bill contacts.
Then at times it spreads one wing to create shade, kicks at the bottom with the same side foot, and traps whatever moves.
Very interesting method ... and fast.
It's a beautiful bird, mostly white, with black primary flight feathers (at least I think those are the black ones.).
Jim
I have ID'd the stork as the "Yellow-Billed Stork" in Wikipedia...
Take a look, click on the link:
Yellow-Billed Stork
Jim
Well, I'm going to shut down for the night. I hope you are having a good weekend....
GOOD NIGHT, EVERYBODY/GREAT VETERANS DAY TOMORROW...
JIM
Good Morning
No one here or in the nest. Big boomin' storms last night.
Looks like it might be rainy and windy at the nest.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE--
It is still cold and rainy here in Martinsburg/Shepherdstown. Those eagles need to come and visit their nest to see if the rain did any damage!
Squiggles is sound asleep. I think I'm the only one moving this morning.
Good Morning my Mother
GOOD MORNING KARLA--
It really is an ugly morning. Do you have a lot of fog up on the mountain?
No fog here. It's funny up here though. You can go up and over the next ridge and it's so thick you can't see the front of the truck. Heavy fog lingered all day on Saturday.
I wish they would put those numbers down a little lower on Bai & Squiggles cam. Always in the way!
I said the same thing yesterday. Maybe at the top of the cam
Bai has left Squiggles alone. I don't think she usually does that in the night (it would be 3:28 there). She looks so sweet; like a toy.
CANDY must be sleeping in. I guess you have to get ready for work...I am going to get some coffee.
Yes - I'm going to get ready for work. But I'll keep checking on the nest......
OK--Daddy is up (early for him) and says HI.
GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE Have a good day and week:)
GOOD MORNING MITS--I was just looking at the Sloth Bear exhibit and saw lights flashing beyond the trees...is there a road there nearby?
2 eagles at BW
Maybe Lonesome Louie found a girlfriend.
EAGLE
THAT WOULD BE LIBERTY?
Now it looks like Belle.
Aww - just in time to see me off to work. Hi Daddy. Morning Mits.
Off to work - have a nice day!!
GUESS THE EAGLE WENT OFF TO WORK, ALSO
She is gone for now.
Bye Karla, Love you.
GOOD MORNING DANA--
That was a beautiful shot that BOB got, wasn't it? He is sooo talented. I bought an adorable photo of his when we went to Open House. Don't know if you saw it or not. It was a Mama Fox and Baby peeking out from behind her. Would love another photo to go along with it.
I guess the nest was too wet and soggy for Belle. Maybe she will come back after it dries a little.
Actually I didn't get to see it. Everyone was scooping up the photos. lol Bob's photos are so awesome. That one sounds so cute Karla. Sorry I didn't get to see it.
It rained here all night. If this had been snow, we would really be knee deep.
I read the other thread comments. I see where Bob is going back to Pickering Creek. Good luck Bob!! Hope Golden Eagle is still there for you to photograph.
Yes, Dana, we did act quickly at going through those photos. Did you know that he donated the monies to our group.
CAM FUND.
Just thinking of the "thrill" as he found out his picture was an immature golden eagle. WOW ( : so happy for Bob.
Karla I just seen your picture you brought of the fox and the one peeking out. I was looking at Bob's site and there it was.Really cute precious picture
