I've been thinking about Kent eagles. They are going to need some heavy equipment to repair that nest. I never get to see anyone home there, but I know they have been visiting. It will be interesting to watch that process.

You're right, Wanda. That hole that George made scares me! Isn't that where the egg cup was last year? What if George decides he wants eggs for breakfast one day??? I'd kill 'em!!
I hope that situation doesn't deterr them from that nest and start another.

That's a good question, Sharon, woke up and thought I might see the eagles and there they were....Suz, if Star could bring in a pine tree limb, I think she would have, that girl loved her pine. I too am really concerned about the KENT nest, I thought this time last year there were a whole lot more nestorations going on.

So sad to read the news of the Washington Redskin Sean Taylor dying. 24 yrs old, and, someone comes into you home and shots you. Makes no sense
She still has difficulty getting from her baack to her tummy. She is so chubby, I guess it is hard for her.
Suz, if it is two pandas together, it is always Mom and Dad, Mei and Tian....Little Zhen was showing off her crawling and trying to climb skills yesterday, since this was SD's 4th cub, it is really no big deal in the naming ceremony again, so probably why not much coverage.
Yes, it is very sad, someone with such a future in front of him and gone so young. I wonder what the real story is. I guess we will know before long.
Yes, it is sad about the football player. Not good with names since I don't follow football.
Also have to say, I've never seen a turkey groom. Never thought of it, but guess they're birds too. No, never have eaten one.
Mits, it was 2 cams, they were not together. One was Tai and the other an adult, but at the time, they both moved exactly the same eating their bamboo. It was too funny! One one grab a piece at the same time the other did, and put it in their mouth exactly the same. Way cool!
I'm thrilled with Zhen Zhen's new name Precious! She is just so precious, ya want to hug her. Well, at least while she's this size! Guess they're out and about celebrating her new name, the den is MT!!!
Mits, I was thinking Kent was a bit ahead of us last year with nestorations. Don't remember, but yeah, I agree, think she would have started bringing in her pine by now. I sure hope both of them are alright, and both of them return to the nest this year! We only see 1 occassionally, and not so much. I'm wondering if that hole is George's new front door, if the eagles don't want to be bothered with him. Hummmmm, maybe it's time to go squirrel hunting!

Went to a THANK YOU VOULUNTEERS party at the zoo last night. It was really nice, got to see some of the lights for ZOO LIGHTS which opens to public tomorrow night. Special showing of them tonight, but I didn't feel like going since I will be there tomorrow.

That's what I was afraid of, Mits. Don't think eagles dig holes in their nests! Squirrels do dig, they bury everything! Guess I better go get a shotgun and head out west for some squirrel target practice. But if that's a hole for the squirrels, it must go all the way under, to their nest!

Fatty the Crocodile was cruising the pond right after dark, and he appeared to be hunting fish in the shallows right under the camera.
I don't know if you knew where in Utah the moosecam is, but I didn't, so I just looked it up ... it's due east of Salt Lake City, up in the mountains above the Park City resorts.
I don't know that moose are known (officially) to be that far south and west ... According to Wikipedia, they are known in the northern Rockies and, perhaps occasionally, as far south as Colorado....

I finally took a look at Kent last evening, and I was surprised at how big that hole is! Right in the middle of the egg cup too.
Did anyone see if it just caved in, or if some animule dug it out?

Wikipedia said this type of Gray Squirrel uses large nests for resting and feeding sometimes. Maybe George is making a cache of nuts or other food items, or maybe he has dug an escape hole in case the eagles suddenly return...???

It's very sad the Sean Taylor died after being shot during a home invasion. Another tragedy that is attributed to guns. Well guns don't kill people, people kill people.

John, you are right on that one. I have never seen a gun shoot by itself.
Well, I sure hope they find the people that did this senseless act of violence. His home had been broken into a week earlier.

So sad, this young man did not deserve to die no matter why the people broke into the house. Now we have a family grieving and a little girl with no father. A father that by all accounts had stepped up to the plate and was taking care of his family.
