GOOD MORNING TO ALL SLEEPYHEADS--
Steven is up and at it early this Sunday morning.

Costume Lady said...

I didn't get up early enough to see Lib & Belle.(The early Worm gets the BIRD) Fin Babes are eating lunch-Pandas are just kinda lying around-Kent babes are waiting for breakfast and Mrs. B has not been off her nest yet to tell if any eggs have hatched.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

Good morning costume lady!! Thanks Steven.

Well, my baby boy turned 18 on Friday. We had a graduation/ birthday picnic yesterday. Now all the birthday and graduation stuff is over. I am worn out! :)

Today, I am going to the pool and I have to work 4 hours before midnight.

I am so excited about getting to come to Shepherdstown on July 14, finally getting to meet my eagle buddies (some of them anyway). It has been a long time coming but it looks like it is going to happen. YEAH!!!

Costume Lady said...

Have to get ready for Church. Will take my Grandson home to Winchester after services so I will be gone most of the day. Please send me photos if Mrs. B's eggs hatch.

Eagle-Eyed Sharon said...

And, yes I am a sleepyhead this morning. I slept until 9 a.m. Haven't done that in a long time!

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING SHARON--
We are excited to have you coming. That gives us another opportunity to visit the Nest in addition to meeting you. We will have a blast!

Have to go now--Back this evening.

Good morning,

I was just in deltview and it seems someone corrupted the site, here is the post by Star-Struck Kent

Subject: THE DELTAVIEW GALLERY HAS BEEN CORRUPTED
Name: Star Struck-Kent, WA
Date Posted: Jun 24, 07 - 3:58 AM
Message: Howdy All,

Terrible news. I just went to the Deltaview Gallery website. Some evil person corrupted the website, all of the data and most of the photos are gone.

A GREAT SUNDAY MORNING, EVERYBODY...

Congratulations to you and your son, Sharon.

Hope you got a lot of pictures, etc., those are the times to remember.

The camera was 'whited out' when I first opened this site, but after a good refresh it came back...BUT you can barely see the nest anymore. The beautiful frame of Sycamore, which we had a week ago, is overgrowing the camera altogether.

Man! I just got back in - my pc & me are going to have a go at it!!Very very slow.

Robyn I can't get my hotmail to open .. but I do see a message from Loraine.. Did you get one? I thought it was going to be about the extended date for the FWS to hear from us concerning the Distinction of the eagles.........

movin said...

I don't think I knew about that gallery, Robynann, but I'm sorry to hear about the destruction.

Might not have been evil, let's hope, but sometimes software or a newby and software will do that...can't tell you how many times I've opened AOL to find that something had gone amuck in my File Cabinet, and it was missing or so messed up I had to start over.

Got to go look at Bob's fine pictures...

Jim

movin said...

By the way...on that site destruction, it's not impossible someone has a backup of the data.

Jim

movin said...

Good morning, Mema Jo,

Go to "Internet Options" in your "Control Panel" and delete all the old files and cookies you can (history too); then restart your computer (wouldn't hurt to just turn it off for a couple of minutes).

That should speed things up a lot. You are probably operating on "virtual memory" (a cache on your hard disk, which is much slower than your RAM), plus you could have a lot of adware and spyware cookies. I pick up dozens a day doing these cams, but I have a shortcut on the desktop to Internet Options, and I just delete as many as I can several times a day (You don't have to shut everything down to do that particular operation).

There are other ways to clean things up and refresh the RAM, but this is a very good one that doesn't cost too much.

Mema Jo said...

Thanks for the info Jim and I hope all bloggers read what you just said. I do have the procedure each night before shut down to go and clean out Temp Files, cookies and History.. I agree with you that this should become a habit and done on a regular basis (each day) if not once when closing but more often if you have been surfing around most of the day.

Mema Jo said...

I agree that it doesn't take "evil" to corrupt a system... Sometimes it is just a click on the wrong thing!
Hopefully Larry and Jo.... will fix it shortly.

Mema Jo said...

I did view Bob's photos. I didn't realize that the White Pelicans were so beautiful. Love the egrets also.
However, most interestingly is the adult eagle and juvie in the marsh with the pelicans.
Another superb job, BOB
Thanks for sharing

movin said...

It is a great set of pics, Bob...loved every one of them.

I think there's a very good possibility that the juvenile and adult Bald Eagles are from the nestcam family this year.

Jim

movin said...

I don't know if anybody else counts 4 chicks in the NY Kestrel box, and I've been counting 3, like it says at the top of the page, for days.... Today it looks like 4 chicks! But I don't even recall any unhatched eggs before.

Take a look somebody. Am I deluding??

Jim

carolinabeachmom said...

JIM There have been four chicks in the Kestrel nest right along. They just pack in so tightly when the parents are gone.

Bob Quinn said...

Jim - Very possible the juvie and mature in the marsh are from the cam nest. That location is not too far from where I understand the nest is. There were so many juvies in the marsh that day one of them must have been. I think I counted six at one point.

I just added 12 new pics to the same gallery. I took them earlier today. Six are of a red tailed hawk being seriously harassed. Six are of mom and her chicks from the osprey platform that is just a stones throw from the wildlife drive:

1 falcon on ledge in Pa.
BW eagle and osprey nests MT
Puget Sound and Kent chicks in nests.
Richmond osprey had all chicks in nest.
AND I am in my nest on the Outer Banks! :)
All seems right with the world.
Night time for German Storks
2 chicks just staring out into space at Two Harbors
West End has a video showing how they were feeding the chicklets when they had them out of the nest, etc.
Finland Opsrey sitting over her chicks.
Looks like one baby eagle on limb and another in nest at Norfolk.
Burrowing owls peeping out of the big hole.

carolinabeachmom said...

WOW BOB! You have out done yourself again. You just seem to have the nack of capturing nature at it's best. Beautiful pics. Thanks for sharing them with us.

carolinabeachmom said...

Congratulations Sharon on making it through a graduation and birthday all in one. I hope you had a nice dip in the pool to cool off and relax a little after all the party prepping.

carolinabeachmom said...

5 uncracked eggs on Ms. B's nest yet. Mom just arrived back on them.

carolinabeachmom said...

JIM the Iriquois (?) reservation came that is below the top Kestral cam had three quite grown Kestrals; born well before these cute little ones we are looking at.

Our nest is still MT. Thought that maybe they might make a dusk visit. I couldn't get on cam early today, as our visitor was sleeping in the computer room. See how much we miss you, Suzanne?

carolinabeachmom said...

Well, guess I'll call it quits for the night. Hope you all have a wonderful evening with a good night's sleep; except for Suzanne who will be at work around 4am Monday. Good morning Suzanne! I think the our eagles and Ms. B have just been waiting for your return.

movin said...

On again for the evening...

Carolina beach mom, you could easily be right. funny thing is that this evening I see 3 again...I think it's all that squirming with the wings in strange positions, etc.

The Norfolk cameraman is getting some unusual shots...a very close-up of one of the eaglets with a canal and people things down below.

Jim

Mema Jo said...

Jim, it was the modem. Hubby had to call Verizon and got it up & running. Also there are 2 set of files I clean out at night (I had only been doing one set) Temp and Internet Temp files.

Mema Jo said...

The barn owl is back visiting the Nest Box (WildWatchCam) We have given this the name of the Owl Motel...

Most of the burrowing owls are out.

Which Kestrel cam is being watched?

movin said...

Mema Jo, check Norfolk first before it gets dark.

Mema Jo said...

Will Do

Mema Jo said...

Jim It is pretty dark
I can make out the branches
Do you already know where one of the
eaglets is roosting?

Mema Jo said...

Now I would need a spot light in order to find them....... lol

Great Pics Bob. I am hoping to stop at Blackwater on my way to OC next week.

Good night everyone

Happy Monday Suzanne.

The NY Firehouse Kestrel box with the new chicks.

The modem sounds about right, although once this cable modem got right (a few days), I haven't had much problem with connections. [knock on my wooden noggin].

Yes, clearing all those files you mentioned earlier at least once a day should go far towards keeping the puter running smooth and fast.

If it starts to feel like your cursor is being grabbed or is stuck in molasses, it's probably spyware or adware trying to use your system; so you should immediately clear the same temp files.

Jim

movin said...

Good night, Jill.
Mema Jo, just before I posted that comment you could still see a close-up of the two males perched together and playing little games pecking at each others bills.....

Now it is too dark for sure. Looks like nobody will show at our nest tonight either.

Jim

Mema Jo said...

No visit I'm sure. I guess I will look in every now and then on Ms.Blue Bird and her 5 soon to be hatch eggs.
Going over to play solitaire for a few games...... usually until I win one.

movin said...

Check the heavy fog or drizzle at Kent...a lot of wing exercises by one of the eaglets too.

Jim

Mema Jo said...

Kent does look wet...

Mema Jo said...

Check out TH nest - I think there is only 1 eaglet visible in the nest

movin said...

There does seem to be only one again, Mema Jo.

And that one was making definite moves a couple of minutes ago like it was going to leap into the tall air.

Jim

movin said...

A big gust of wind nearly knocked the Santa Cruz eaglet off his perch, so he proceeded to engage in a lengthy session of rapid wing beats.

Jim

movin said...

Bob, I took a look at your latest addition to the great picture album.

We have crows mobbing Red-tailed hawks here in So Cal too, and the Mockingbirds are really tenacious at mobbing anything that resembles a threat to their nests, including crows and hawks.

That female Osprey really has a prominent necklace unlike the lady on the nestcam.

Great shots also, Bob.

Jim

carolinabeachmom said...

Hey Jim. I am still on even tho I signed off. I can't seem to get away from these birds.

carolinabeachmom said...

I thought the Santa Cruz chick was about to fly with all the wind and wing flapping. Now he has calmed down and seems like he will rest for awhile.

Mema Jo said...

I was checking the Frodocam - the date is current for the cam. It was Mid July when the activity started..
I thought we were watching it earlier. But July thru Oct was Down Under!

carolinabeachmom said...

That Ms. B is still on here eggs, making us guess and wait, guess and wait.

movin said...

I was just about to sign off too, Carolina...

The youngsters are hard to break away from, especially when they're about to fledge.

I don't know if A63 has been given his dinner yet. It's still only 6:30 out here, so there's time yet.

Jim

movin said...

Two Harbors is looking all around overhead as though his brother were flying over.

Jim

carolinabeachmom said...

Jim, there he goes again. I have been on him for awhile and I saw a lot of feathers in the nest when I first checked in. He was all alone, but was eating something that he was holding down with his foot. I didn't see how it got there tho.

movin said...

I just saw a fly bye (at least the wings in front of the nest) of the fledged chick at T H.

Jim

carolinabeachmom said...

One of Kent's chicks has been doing wing flapping too.

movin said...

the second TH eaglet is trying to fly, got some air...just out of the nest and back in again!

Jim

carolinabeachmom said...

Jim, I missed it. The remaining one at Two Harbors seems like it wants to go anytime too! Candy

carolinabeachmom said...

Oh look at TH! Amazing. What beautiful birds. Now both are back in nest.

movin said...

The fledged eaglet at TH just landed on the front of the nest again.

Just noticed since I loaded that Active X at that site this morning, I can't take a snapshot of the action anymore...probably will have to get some video software to do that now.

Jim

movin said...

Does anyone know where Dr. Sharpe is posting the pics of WE now that their cam is down?

Jim

movin said...

Looks like both eaglets are back in the nest and scoping the skies for whichever parent is bringing dinner.

Jim

Mema Jo said...

I know they said they would post videos of WE - but I'll need to go back on their forum and read to find out. I may wait for Paula's input first.
TH sure is becoming active!!
They are providing pure excitement.

GOOD EVENING EVERYBODY--
I'm back from taking my Grandson home. He wears me out just fixing his meals. He has a tummy problem and eats small, frequent meals.

I see Mrs. B isn't a MaMa yet. I double-checked my dates and her first egg was laid on June 7; so that would make the hatching date the 24th or 25th. Hope they aren't infertile.

movin said...

Well, I'd better sign off...got work to do tonight.

GOOD NIGHT TO ALL EAGLE LOVERS. HAVE A GREAT WEEK.

Jim

carolinabeachmom said...

Santa Cruz must have tired himself out. He is now laying down in nest. Kent chicks just sitting in their nest and Two Harbors are now back to back. Waiting to see if either will take off again.

carolinabeachmom said...

Hey there Jo and Wanda. I had signed off earlier, but can't get away from birds. There was alot of activity for awhile. Things have seemed to calm down a bit now, so I guess I will sign off for the second time tonight. You all have a good night. Keep your eyes peeled on Ms. B! :)
Good night ladies and Jim. Good Monday morning Suzanne.

Mema Jo said...

Good night Jim and Candy

Hi Wanda - I've been watching Mrs B
I didn't know if you counted incubation days from the last one or the first one laid ?? It will be soon I'm hoping.
Glad your weekend went well but I know what you mean Grandma!!
Have a restful night.

Mema Jo said...

I am going to call it a day

Good Monday morning Suzanne
I bet your weekend went as fast as
ours did

Suzanne said...

Good morning, eagle world. Yup, Jo, weekend went by very quickly! They always do! Darn.
Beautiful out tonight, 70° at my house, 75° here already! And this was before 4, so it's gonna be a warm one.
May try to read blogs, don't know if I'll have time.
All have a great eagle day. Eyes to the sky, see the raptors fly!

Suzanne said...

Good grief, I'm not as awake as I thought I was. That's scary! I wrote last comment, then went and did other things, been busy for a while, came back to see if anybody was up, and I didn't even post the comment! Yikes, type it, don't post it. Makes it kinda hard for others to read I guess.
Have cams open, there were several shadows up by the nest box in PA, so I'm guessing the kids are coming home to sleep. BW nests MT, our nest MT, dark in Kent, Finland parent sleeping on chicks, Stork kids are getting big, Mrs B on eggs and maybe chicks. Need to go back and see if any of the chicks hatched this weekend. WDWF owl nest MT, guess there are no takers for this year. Can't tell if Puget Sound eagle has a pic or not, it's dark there, but there are no lights or anything showing, so will have to wait till it gets lighter to see. Hope we have a pic. Tried the osprey nest this morning, as usual, no video, so just closed it. Ok, I'll post this msg!

Suzanne said...

Right on time, Belle by the tree!

Suzanne said...

She's alone, by the tree, facing towards 9ish. Looks like she may be looking over the nest, to the ground. Ok, head up now.

Suzanne said...

Belle just took off. I was doing email, and washn't watching. Or maybe she didn't... wait for a refresh.

Nope, she's still there, just still by the tree, but facing 5ish now. Harder to see.
BRB, when it gets a bit lighter out. She's very hard to see, light is on the leaves, so that puts the nest in shadow.

Suzanne said...

Getting light out now, but I don't see Belle. Had to step outside, and didn't see her leave. Hopefully, they'll both be back in a few minutes.

Suzanne said...

Both BW nests MT, as is ours. There is a falcon on the bar in PA. Parent is off Osprey chicks in Finland, has food, but I think the chicks are gonna sleep a bit longer. Looks like both stork parents are in nest, or else the oldest chick is really big. Mrs B is not showing any chicks. Or eggs for that matter, she's not moving off them. Still dark in Puget Sound and Kent.

Costume Lady said...

GOOD MORNING SUZ--
I got up just in time to see Belle!
She didn't stay very long. A first for me in a looong time.
Checked out Mrs. B late last night and there were no babies. Hope we see some this morning.

Suzanne said...

Our cam has gone to pot, so if Lib and Belle come for another short visit, we'll never be able to see them. Started out with black and white lines, they kept getting closer and closer, now we have them mixed in with the psychadelic lines. Impossible to see any of the nest. Oh, ok, now we just have a black screen.
Moving right along...

Suzanne said...

Morning, Wanda! I'm glad you got to see Belle's short visit this morning. Cam is going crazy now, so can't see a thing if they come back. Thanks for the update on Mrs B. Keep trying to see, but she's not showing her eggs at all this morning. Course it's the middle of the night for her, she's not quite ready to get up yet. Can't say as I blame her!!

Suzanne said...

There is an eaglet in BW nest!! Osprey nest MT.

Costume Lady said...

Looks like Mrs. Fin can't get babes to wake up long enough to eat their lunch.

When you have a chance, check out Bob Quinn's new photos. Wonderful!

Suzanne said...

Oh, thanks Wanda. I love his pics. I'll check them out.
Eaglet brought breakfast!!

Suzanne said...

BW eaglet is sure chowing down. Head doesn't come up very often!!

Costume Lady said...

SUZ--
I forgot to tell you where Bob's link to his photos is; check out 6:57pm last evening.ENJOY

Suzanne said...

Those storks are really getting big. Are you still up, Wanda? I can't tell if that's both parents in the nest, or one of the kids is standing next to parent. Only see 2 laying down. That's twice this morning either both parents are there or one of the kids.

Suzanne said...

Incoming osprey with fish! Well, no, he/she just flew by the cam with a fish in talons, but didn't land.
Our BW eaglet is still eating breakfast.

Costume Lady said...

COFFEE BREAK! Watch for Mrs. B and her eggs. BBL

Suzanne said...

Ok, thanks, Wanda. Enjoy your coffee, and talk to you later.

Suzanne said...

Pics of Belle's visit this morning just went out. She was here for a very short time, only took 3 pics.
BW eaglet still eating breakfast. Osprey nest MT, our nest who knows, Mrs B on eggs, think that was a stork baby standing next to parent, PA ledge MT, and Finland parent trying to catch a few zzz's while keeping chicks under her wing. Oh, she's up now, looking around. Chicks are sleeping.

Suzanne said...

Finland egg is still there, good clear shot of it just now. By parent's bottom right wing.

Suzanne said...

Finland parent just took off. too cool!

Suzanne said...

One of the Finland chicks woke up and started squaking. Parent came right back.

Suzanne said...

BW eaglet has finally finished breakfast and left. Nothing left but new bone.

Suzanne said...

Mrs Finland is standing next to the chicks. You can really see the white down the center of their backs now.

Suzanne said...

Caught the storks in a really neat moment in time. They are all facing this way and all the mouths are open. They're singing together, how cool is that!!!

Suzanne said...

Can see shadow of parent in tree at Kent. Both parents in nest in Finland!

Suzanne said...

Awww, they're both just watching the chicks sleep. Too cool.

Suzanne said...

Stork chicks and parent have turned around, they are now seranading the other side of the city!
Both parents still in Finland, chicks sleeping.

Suzanne said...

Forgot, parent and chick in Puget Sound eagle nest. Getting dawn in Kent.

Suzanne said...

Parent took off in Kent. Wonder if they're going after breakfast for the kids? Think that's what the parent was doing in Puget Sound, cause eglet is steadily eating something.

Suzanne said...

both parents have been in Finland for a while, and I've been watching to get one of them taking off. Missed it. Gone in 2 seconds flat. But did get mom returning. Now Dad's gone.

Suzanne said...

Oh, we have a beautiful cam view of our nest again, thanks NCTC!

Suzanne said...

Kent chicks are waking up. Fuzzy view on cam 2.
Mrs. Osprey is trying to get the chicks settled under her. They're not cooperating.

Suzanne said...

Puget Sound doing wing flaps.

Suzanne said...

Oh, only 2 stork chicks in nest. Wonder where number 3 is, and parent?

Suzanne said...

Ok, stork baby number 3 was hiding. There is a falcon (I think) laying down on the ledge, by the bar. Hope he/she's alright! Mom is still trying to tuck those babies under her, and they are just as determined they are not gonna stay there! Kent eaglets are awake, and at their respective corners. Must have had an argument already this morning. At least this one wasn't over food, parent hasn't fed them yet, or made a food drop. Mrs B is adamantly refusing to show us her eggs this morning. She barely moves over them, and they do now show when she moves.

Suzanne said...

Oh, saw Bob Quinn's photos from yesterday! Awesome, as usual. Man, that poor red-tailed hawk was really getting harrased by those 3 blackbirds! But loved all the adult and juvie eagles! And eagrets, and all of them, actually.

glo said...

SUZ--
Have you seen this video yet?
Hilarious.

Suzanne said...

Thanks for doing that, Glo! I'm sure it took quite a while. I can't get in to view it, but I'll try again in a little while. I'll bet it is hilarious, it was hilarious to watch! Reminded me of Spunky's steal last year.

Costume Lady said...

Kent younguns seem to be waiting for breakfast.
Mrs Fin sure does take good care of her two babes.
Mrs. B was off of eggs for awhile and they show no signs of hatching.

Tai Shan just took a bath and proceeded back up onto the log and is now eating a breakfast of bamboo.

Suzanne said...

Oh Wanda, you FINALLY got Mrs B off those eggs! I've been watching her all morning, little toot, she never did get off to show me the eggs. Now I hope they start showing signs of hatching soon!!! Hope they're ok!!! Yeah, Mrs Finland is a good mommie. The kids finally won the discussion of being under her or beside her, though. They won. Think she finally gave up trying to squish them under her, and she lets them lay beside her now. Too funny.

glo said...
