It is putting down snow here now this morning, but the ground is so warm, it will take a while for it to stick. I am thinking we are not going to get as much as they initially said.

I am spending as much of the day on the sofa as I can--still having issues with the swollen feet/ankles (KANKLES) and maybe NOT sitting will help. Checking in occassionally.

I hate vacations then you have nothing to do I went out this am and checked out to second hand stores and found nothing they are getting extremely high for used stuff and I told them I could buy it new so just penny more new at a store I laughed out loud when I saw a item priced more that it would be at Wal-Mart and I did let them know and they did reduce the price on the spot but it was something I didn't want it was a pack of baby wipes that had a 2.99 tag on it and at Wal-Mart it is 1.87
No problem with the cam here.
I still have the cams I have two open with live feed just in case I loose one and odd thing is one is just a little quicker that the other you can tell when they move their head

Laurel and the boys are gone and I have decided to play hookie from church. Would have had to rush too much. We had 2 inches of rain yesterday. Today is is 46 and cloudy. Water still standing. Will be fun to listen to the weather man the next few days as he tells us how much this has helped the lakes.

I see Shep on the nest. I looked back yesterday and see the attack happened minutes after I was on. I mentioned Shep was about to twist his head off looking up. Must have been watching the intruder at that time.
I want to climb up into the nest and do a little housecleaning. LOL
Interesting article in our paper today from a reporter of the New York Times, reporting on thin ice this year on lakes. " Worse, in parts of Wis. and Minn, authorities have reported cars and people falling through tenours ice at miserable rates" Do not think I would be out on that ice!!! It also mentions ice fishing tournaments having to be cancelled.
I am off to read the paper now. But, I will be watching the cam.

Have finished the paper all the while glancing up at Shep. Still want to climb up and removed some sticks from the flugg and put them up on the edge where the rails belong. Sorta looks like my den carpet after the boys have been here. LOL Lincoln logs all over the floor!! Yes, they go from computers to lincoln logs and back to computers, oh and tinker toys. Joseph built something that he wanted to save, so we found a high shelf to hopefully save it til next time.
Whoops...my cleaning man has entered this room with the vacuum. I better close so he can move my chair.

Watching qualifying for the race doing laundry and trying to figure out if I want to use the pole for the cats that I have in the utility room it is a cat pole with three shelves I use it to hold my laundry soap LOL didn't want to through it out after my last cat didn't use it Trying to figure out where I would put it first before I take it down and will they use it is another thing my last cat didn't

Hi all! Looks like the changing of the guards at the nest. Belle doing an egg roll and wiggling down! Kerplunk!!
Shep gets off eggs and goes to launch pad next to nine branch and takes off up to the branch. I hear vocalizing chirps and more scratches at the camera and Belle comes down and more scratches as Shep hops to her spot? The vocalizing was very quiet almost whispers. Belle incubating facing nine and she looks up at the cam where I hear scratches...sure it is Shep.

Got the coolest screen grab of the still of Belle poofing I put on album and also have a couple of pic and a short video of the cats on the pole and I wish I had a window to put it on maybe will have to move furniture to do that

YEP LORI saw it and just trying to figure it out My kitchen table is in front of the kitchen window and the couch in in front of the side widow in living room and my desk hutch is in front of the front window I may have to think about moving the hutch the window is broke and doesn't open at all And with the cats I am not opening my window because I am afraid they may push out the screens anyway
With the desk where it is I can see the computer and screen at all times from the couch and rocking chair and if I move it won't be able to see it and would be afraid cats would jump on top of hutch from the pole The have gotten on the pole a couple of times with it in the hall way You can see it on the video I posted on the blog a bit ago Odd that Belle didn't call out tonight and Shep is in early and usually Belle is on the nest this time I wonder if she will be back just ODD I think

Getting ready to grill some steaks! Yum...invited mom and dad but they had a busy day and declined dinner. Plus my mother wants to cook dinner and bring it over instead. Because of the situation with my brother...you have heard much of that...my parents now live in very small quarters until the business sells. Therefore she can't have us over for dinner and doesn't like that I have to do it all the time. I knew she wasn't going to let me cook again. Mothers! LOL☺
Oh, yes...Mothers are the pits! LOL Going to Laurel's this next week. Tuesday is Joey's birthday, so we are taking a steak dinner. Oh the horror of it!
House is clean, nothing much going on so I played with that stupid,(yes, I said that bad word) time line.

Julie's washer gave up the ghost a couple of days ago and her new one won't arrive til' Mar. 2nd.. Can't say I'm happy about it, but I sure did enjoy her being here to do the washing and drying. We had several hours of that precious one on one, mother-daughter time.

JudyE your 1:59pm comment...Shep was sitting when looking at cam. On a limb they cut off. You could almost see him on cam but it is just a little too far. Anyhow the intruder came flying in towards Shep. He took off after it while Belle stayed on eggs. Shep came back flying beautifully around the nest about 4 times. Then furthere out. Then he took off in direction of intruderl.

The grassy areas of the ground is covered. Streets still look okay. It is 35 degrees.
Just had a small crisis. The bathtub faucet handle broke off when Hunter tried to turn off the water. The water was still running, so we had to take action. Kathryn finally got it turned off. Hoping we can find a new part and replace the handle without too much trouble.
Nest looks very peaceful.
Not good that the intruder is still nearby, though.
It's 8:20, and 60 Minutes just ended. So The Good Wife won't start until 9:20. Adjust your DVR'S!!!
Shirley, that happened to me at my sisters once! Pliers to the rescue. Unfortunately, she had EXPENSIVE porcelain fixtures!!!

sooo cool I found the old dvd of my going on vacation with my parents out west in 1963 watched it and grabbed some pic they funny thing is it was a old 8mm and you can hear the tick tick of the 8mm no sound just the noise of the machine dad used to transfer it on the vcr tape and then I put of dvd was sooo nice watching it didn't watch all just some neck said to stop LOL and I listened this time

This thing is cheap plastic, Lynn. We had to use a Phillips screwdriver, then pliers.

Jack and I just ate leftovers from last night. I had cooked Bacon Pasta for Laurel and the boys. One recipe was just right for last night and for a meal for us tonight.
Good Lord!!! The French newspapers and the British newspapers report Hitler had a son with a 16 year old French girl during the first world war. The sun is now dead but there are grandchildren!!! That somehow surprises me!!!claiming royalties on Mien Kampf and such!!! I have not heard it on Canadian news, have you all seen it on American news?

When I arrived Belle was sitting up in top of tree. I don't know if she and intruder had any trouble or not.
I just know as soon as Shep stood up on that limb. The intruder showed itself from an area I think it was sitting in a tree waiting.
When I had arrived I looked all the trees over. All around the nest area. No sign of it but it appearing that soon it had to be waiting in a tree near by.
Had not heard of such news, Hoda. Can not imagine wanting to claim to be a grandchild of Hitler.
Oh by the way I spoke with the man that lives there. He said the murdering sound we heard. Was a fox sending out mating calls. I said mating calls it sounded like it was hurt and dieing. He laughed.

If Lolly or other SW people come on, just talked to daughter outside of Austin & it rained all day Saturday! Doesn't mean much for lakes, tho.

Loretta, the lakes up here have been making remarkable recovery. Still below normal but way up from where there were. We are presently above average rain fall for this time of year. Anxious to hear what they say on the weather tonight.

And for any basketball fans out there....we scarfed up a book "The 50 years of NBA "...or something like that...I've never seen a kid so excited about a book.....
