My brain works at night better then afternoon...... And especially works well the night before it's due
Thanks Steve for the new thread and Shirley and Hoda for the call over.
LINDA, I don't know about other states but, in DE, the taxes on self-employed individuals is ridiculous!! It's true that, when the money comes out of your paychek, you don't miss it. When you have to go online 4 times a year and make lump sum estimated tax payments, it hurts so much more!
My DIL just sent me an email with airfares from Dulles to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (we're going to visit them for 10 days in July). Almost $2200 per person - GOOD GRIEF!!!
Chirping is about as loud as Shep can get! Sure hope his voice matures as he ages - he'll be called a sissy with that little boy voice of his! I assumed Belle landed, but if it was her, she must have decided she wanted more free time (recess time as we teachers would say)!
I heard chirping and saw the shadow fly over. Now Shep is getting back on the eggs. That is 2 beautiful eggs we have there. Hearing noise in the attic.
Sandi - Paying more means your husband probably made more money this year than next.
What I usually recommend in a situation like yours (which is similar to mine) is have more withholding taken out of your check so you don't feel it as much.
If you happen to pay say 1300 per quarter (to round it out) and there are 13 weekly pay periods in a quarter, have an additional 100 withheld from your paycheck.
Just a suggestion.
I make sure Dennis' withholding is high enough out of his pension so I don't have to worry about making 1040-ES payments quarterly. I always fear I will forget and they will be late.
When I tell my clients they owe because they made more money, they ask me where the money went??
Amazing video posted on FB by CCB showing the Richmond female eagle sitting on her 2 eggs during yesterday's snow. We feel sorry for them enduring the weather b/c we're people, but they are well-equipped for cold weather!
Wow, you can only be away from here for a few hours now for it too seem like there is too much to catch up on ! Not really complaining, but am sure I miss some things in my quick scans.
HODA, ♫♪ I'm just wild about Harry and Harry's wild about---his lovely Mama ♪☺ Thanks for sharing the interesting and unexpected bit about Hitler. A good reminder to us all that we must never forget and we must take a stand when we see wrong being done to others !
TORI, playing puter games and reading Caring Bridge posts ! She's a miracle girl !!!!
LYNNE1, I'm saddened by your news. Hope you'll be comforted by memories of good times shared with your dear Mother.♥
WANDA, sitting down and slicing pies is okay--but please don't do anything that keeps you on your feet too long. Hope the knee is feeling better with every passing day.
LINDA, thanks for sharing Lynne2's message. Missed her over the weekend and am glad she can check in now and then from work.
LOLLY, I have a funny visual of you playing in the mud ! Your "street face" may give way to a good mud facial. So glad you're able to resume normal activities !
I am not bending over a whole lot, Paula. It is funny...you can kind of feel it in your eye if you do bend over. I will stand and rake, or sit in the mud and pull weeds. LOL You would not believe how the water is standing in the flower beds. We go from dry to wet awfully fast. Still have not heard a report on the lakes.
back from changing in my change went to Walmart and someone was already on the machine with a coffee can full and guess what they had the heat blowing at the front door HEAT I say not I left and went to Publix and you will never guess how much change I had in the jar It was 15lb including the bag was 3"deep in a jar 8" across
remember the reason I was going to Michaels was the poms poms Well that isn't working the cats tear them up in to little fuzzy pieces will just have to buy more of the cat ones when I go back to Walmart to get a gift card later
JUDY, what a strange configuration for a jar ! What was it's original use ? I'm going to guess LORI is way off---as a veteran change collector myself and not knowing what kinds of coins were included---I'm guessing $387.73 ! ☺
We got some catnip-infused puff balls that Lucky just loves. He picks one up and goes into a catnip state of some kind that causes strange sounding, muffled meows. Just plain stoned, we think.
JudyE - Sounds like a lot of $$$$..... you will never guess how much change I had in the jar It was 15lb including the bag was 3"deep in a jar 8" across
I am waiting for you to tell us the good news & I don't remember what you are going to do with it..........
They have already pulled out all my plastic bags that I have tucked in the bag holder and they play in the boxes I brought them home in I need to put them up they cost money until I get a plastic carrier for them but they love to clay in boxes and the c=kitchen cabinets and the bathroom cabinets NO PLACE IS safe LOL they are soooo funny to watch I love how they throw up the pompoms in teh air the one went up at least 4feet
That's a good chunk o' change, JUDY ! I think my guess was closest and I was only off by $150.20 ! No wonder I never win those "How Many Beans Are In This Jar" contests !
Yes JO I took the change to the store in the Momster bag but this is the Mason Jar that I collected it in A long time ago it had pickles in it they were sooooo good I painted the gold on the eagle so I figure 237. isn't bad about a year of collecting
JUDY, if you have Indian Casinos in your area you can take coins to their sorters and won't be charged an 8% or any fee. Of course, they hope you'll stay and give them have a good percentage of it through games or slots !
Just said "Indian" because Florida isn't a gambling State as far as I know. However, not all casinos outside Nevada are Native American owned and operated. Ohio will soon have three in the State since the voters made that decision last year. Columbus will have one. It's under construction on West Broad, several miles west of downtown, SHIRLEY. The others will be near Toledo and Cinci.
OK changed my avatar back to the cats instead of my money jar I think its funny when you click on our avatars It says click for larger view and there isn't a larger view its about the same size LOL just had to say that Ok I think I am heading out for a bit may go to the mall to look for a ring or another pair of threader ear rings My thingy that hangs on my treader came off and I can't find it so just need to by another pair of threaders and take to my $10 man to gold weld the eagle back on I love my $10 jewelry man he is the best I have so many people that go to him and they are so shocked all he changes is 10 for most repairs and work he does I kidded him one day and told him that's the only number he knows and he laughed and then said I know 20 and 15 funny man
Pulling a quick MARGY here. Okay, LORI, I'm conceding the win to you. However, you are wrong. You've won the hearts of we Momster's over and over again, ♥U !
Yes, JUDY, the Tampa and Hollywood, FL Hard Rocks are both Seminole facilities. At any rate, you can cash your coins in there free of charge. Back in my Tarpon Springs days I loved to go to Tampa for meals at Bern's Steakhouse. Oh, my, the steaks melted in the mouth ! Had to go the airport in Tampa frequently to pick up my husband or the kids as they were all in Columbus or at colleges while I was overseeing the restoration of a building of condo's for us and our business partners. Fun times, but hated the humidity, the bugs, the critters !
Thank you all for your prayers and emails of sympathy. Mom contracted pneumonia a couple of weeks ago and was hospitalized. She seemed to be improving but had a bad turn that she never recovered from. We had a memorial service Saturday.
On another note, when I joined this blog a few years ago, most people didn't use their real name. When Lynne S. joined, she took the name Lynne2 since we were both Lynne with an e. I still try to use the 'nicknames' of posters so I won't get confused. Lineepinee is an email address I also have but changed to the current one. Anyone confused?? LOL
I guess you might say incubating eggs is a little like being on hall duty. Sometimes boring. Sometimes hair-raising (feather-raising?). I always said boring is good when one is on hall duty, cafeteria duty, bus duty, etc.
SHARON, did you know Clear Channel is giving away a trip for 10 (you and 9 friends) to see Train at their Napa Valley vineyard...and you get a private concert?!? I think of you every time we talk about it.
Camera shakes again...Belle just spread her wings as she is incubating...vocalizing...in arrives Shep on railing at eleven. Belle still softly vocalizing.
Just got back from the grossery store. Also, got gas. YUCK!!!! Walked in and immediatly heard Belle. Glad to see it was just a changing of the nest duty. Yep...good to be bored!!!
Boy glad thats all it was changing of the guard My son called we are going to eat at 6 I said now and he said mom we aren't in our 70 I said but I am 62 and thats close He didn't want to go with the early birds I guess I am so glad I have my son back
I am uploading a video of belle vocalizing asking for Shep to come on down I love it when she speaks I love the way they looked like that were conversing
SHIRELY I always forgot about the zoom in the tool bar thanks for the reminder It was when my money jar was on I love this pic of my cats looks like they are hugging Ok gonna go get ready to go get Tommy for a RL dinner he told me I can't have any cheddar biscuits LOL Just watch me LOL
I just got an notice that deewerms did also so if I get mine done I will post other wise I'm sure HODA will post hers and I won't mine to the bedroom to change
See Shep is on the nest!He needs a "Sitting" award! BTW, I had written Lisa about Greg K's ID of critter in Eagle nest being a snow goose. She was happy and said 4 out 5 "experts" agree!
I'm with you Sandi, if my computer died Monte would be on the phone with Dell getting me a new one. As it is, when they replaced my motherboard they said this computer was "old". I don't think of it as such but I guess in computer years it is since it's going on 3 years. Not old to me!
Fish for dinner here at the Hilmoe's but not until Andrew returns from class and Monte from a meeting.
Don't even talk about taxes. It makes me sick! Just wondering how much we are paying this year. Monte's bonus' are nice, but generally screw us.
DANAMO you can always have a little extra taken out of either his or your paychecks throughout the year that way you won't have to pay When I was getting my measly alimony I did that and you can always change it through out the year OK time to leave to go get Tommy for Red Lobster dinner BBL and I posted Miss Belle calling for Shep on the blog and facebook and the eagle cam pages on FB
JUDYE I am waiting for you to post your videos...I posted DeeWerms on WOW...she had two videos...it is all good. If yo udon't post yours here I will bring over Doreen's videos.♥
Sharon....do tell!!!! Yep---I know Train is singing for the race! How many times have you entered the contest that Lori mentioned?
Didn't sleep much, but at least had my feet up. Think I might be feeling a little better.....need to move around a bit more, I guess, to know for sure.
Just to make you all jealous....I had my tax refund deposited on Feb. 9th!!! Early bird!!!!!
for grannyblt, Lynne1 Our thoughts are with you... my mother also died of pneumonia, at the age of 83 back in 1993... she pretty much just slept away, peacfully and in not too much discomfort; I was with her when she died. I must say I like calling you grannyblt...because, well, I must say I LOVE BLTs! (( Hugs and Prayers ♥ ))
those chicks at BWE are in view a LOT today wonder when the Fish will start arriving at the nest ! No shortage of Eaglet food at Blackwater that's for sure fish AND fur
Back from the grocery store. Have changed my avatar - my previous cardinal was just one that I found from a Google search. But just before we left for the store, I looked out the window next to my desk and there was the fattest, beautifulest cardinal I have ever seen sitting in the leyland cypress! Denny grabbed his camera and got a great shot! I also put the pic on my blog since the avatars don't enlarge very well. JO, you have email!!
Belle, I hope, lands on cam it shakes. Shep does some vocalizing and then calms down looking up...which tells me it must be Belle who landed...all is quiet at the nest.
Camera shakes, Belle comes down and is on railing. Shep is not getting up...oh here he goes...The Changing Of The Guard Shep poofs to nine branch...could see his tail feathers. Belle in nest and Shep just flew across the nest towards five position and beyond.
Well, I know about it now! Thanks Lori and Hedgie. I just tried but of course the line was busy constantly but I have a few more times I will be trying for! I would daggone die if I won that!
By the way, the guitarist for Train, Jimmy Stafford, started following me on Twitter today. Now I have Train, Jimmy and Hector, their bassist following me! :) Happy camper.
Now that Belle is back, probably for the duration, I'm off to feed animals and people. Hopeful that the evening and night shifts are boring for our eagles and egglets. BBL (probably).
I've been away for a long time and missed you all and probably missed a lot of happenings. Seeing doctors and getting medical tests have taken a lot of time and energy from us. Things have settled down for now.
I did read back a bit and want to send my condolences to Lynne1. I hope your memories comfort you. I lost my mother a few years back and think of her often.
My email box has been overloaded with mail. Being away has some disadvantages, but I love getting mail.
Also noticed our Lynne2 is offline. Too bad her computer went 'kaput.' May her troubles be over soon and we see her happy avatar back with us.
Lolly will soon see her beautiful gardens in full color. I can't wait for my friends' seeds to arise in pretty plants/flowers. Have some more seeds from Margy to plant when the weather cooperates.
Think some of our groundhogs have missed the prediction. This crazy weather makes me excited to see an early spring. My daffs and tulips are up about 6+ inches and some of the short daffs have buds!
Shirley, an inside plumber. How lucky can one be?!
Kay, hope you're doing well and hey, Lori.
Jim's b-day is tomorrow and I'm taking him out for his favorite dinner. Actually, he's taking me along. I haven't driven in months and I'm not sure where he wants to go, but go we will! Will let you all know tomorrow or later.
Well, he'll soon be home for supper so I'm off to the kitchen to get things together.
DIANN, good to hear that you feel well enough to go out to dinner. Gene and I were going out to dinner for Valentine's Day, but he developed a very bad case of gout in his hand and so that has been postponed:( (waanted lobster again!)
We had a really nice visit with GG. She is so concerned with my surgery and recuperation, that she does not dwell on her own pain! That is a good thing, I think! She is very interested in what I do for therapy...might take her with me one day~ Forgot, I can't drive yet...shouldn't be too much longer~
I am in from working in the yard. My jeans were quite dirty on the knees and the tush! They are in the washer. So, Paula, no bending over, I just sat on the wet ground. LOL
Hi Diann, glad to have you peeking in. Hmmmm??? Wonder where you will go for dinner.
Our dinner tonight..if you want to call it "dinner"....we are having chili dogs!! Love chili dogs!
It was a nice day to drive to Solomon's Island. Enjoyed lunch with friends who live in Lusby. Visited the retirement community. Will decide to put a deposit down in a couple of weeks.

We hope so Steve. Thank you!
Sandi - You're funny!! It does get tough when you have to tell people they owe income tax or their refund has been reduced because government keeps changing their laws.
Last year took away the Making Work Pay credit, but reduced the Employee share of Social Security Tax withheld as an offset. Problem is, people don't remember that they got a little more in their checks throughout the year, when you tell them their refund is close to 800 less this year than last year.
Some people sort of bank on those refunds and don't like to hear that number has been reduced!!
Comes with the territory, I guess.....
Thanks, Steve!
Thanks, Hoda!
Yes, we definitely hope things have calmed down.
Thanks Steve and according to your remark you are very aware of what is going on at the nest.....
We are hanging in here and hoping for
a successful hatching and fledging this season!

At that price, Sandi you best have a
whopper of a time! ♥
Yikes, Sandi!
But it sounds like a wonderful way to spend your summer vacation time.
Something just bothered Shep or Belle flew in. He looked up, ducked and chirped quietly.
LOLLY, I saw that, too...
Prior to that, I heard what I think was a HAWK!
Chirping is about as loud as Shep can get! Sure hope his voice matures as he ages - he'll be called a sissy with that little boy voice of his! I assumed Belle landed, but if it was her, she must have decided she wanted more free time (recess time as we teachers would say)!
LOL Sandi....I am on permanent recess time!
Have to go to a new doctor next week. Have been filling at forms. Yuk.
Again, I think something is bothering Shep.
out not at
I am hoping it is Belle. Shep is up. Shep poofs!
Eagle off the nest and chirping loudly...
Shadow over the nest
something is bothering Shep off he goes eagle flies over nest
Must be that Belle is coming back.
Poof Shep!
See Eagle wing shadows over the nest and some calling.
Saw eagle wing fly over 10 o'clock
Belle is back
eggs uncovered in comes Belle
Beautiful eggs all alone. Saw an eagle fly by in the upper right hand corner. Awwww...here is our Belle and I think Shep is upstairs.
Clunk on camera
Must be Shep!!
Belle is not alarmed at all.
I heard chirping and saw the shadow fly over. Now Shep is getting back on the eggs. That is 2 beautiful eggs we have there. Hearing noise in the attic.
camera shakes Shep lands???
I saw an eagle fly by in the upper left hand corner. Love it when we see that.
This is Belle incubating now, right? I don't see a spot. Thought Shep left and Belle arrived, yes??
OK, I HAVE to make the grocery list!! BBL!
I think we are all a little on edge. Wish we could feel confident they are watching each other when they are looking at something.
Sandi, thanks for the report from Lynne2.
Jo - You could say that is what I was doing......
It was just so darn funny, I was truly laughing out loud!!
Glad my "tax man" was out for his walk, or he would wonder what was so funny about my work!! LOL
I need to go put my street face on and head to the grossery store. Then I am going to get muddy in the yard!!!!
Yes SANDI this is Belle.

LOL
Ha Ha , you got me on that email address, Granny...that must have been the kicker.
I am so sorry about your Mom, you must miss her dearly. (((Hugs)))
My condolences, Lynne (grannyblt). Prayers for you and your family.
Belle is still very watchful.
Lynne - I'll always remember you by
BLT! I loved that story.
I have been very suspicious of your
feelings for Pat Monohan ever since you stand around holding signs like
I ♥ TRAIN loL
LYNNE1, so sorry about your mother. I wish we had known sooner. My thoughts and prayers are with you. ((Big Hug))
I guess you might say incubating eggs is a little like being on hall duty. Sometimes boring. Sometimes hair-raising (feather-raising?). I always said boring is good when one is on hall duty, cafeteria duty, bus duty, etc.
HODA, just finished looking at links and pictures - HARRY is adorable - What a cutie-pie! He looks like he'll be an Auntie Hoda's boy!
SHARON, did you know Clear Channel is giving away a trip for 10 (you and 9 friends) to see Train at their Napa Valley vineyard...and you get a private concert?!? I think of you every time we talk about it.
Belle calling out softly as Shep arrives with a small clump of fluff
Cries, eagle sweet-talk, and Shep appears.
Camera shakes again...Belle just spread her wings as she is incubating...vocalizing...in arrives Shep on railing at eleven. Belle still softly vocalizing.
Time for a change/switch
Eating time at BWE...using that food in the bowl from the 8 position
Belle up for a break
We get a look at the eggs. Both poof.
Belle moving off the eggs....still looking around.
Belle poof, Shep poof!!
Shep back.
Shep is back
Off goes Belle to the right, and so does Shep, but he comes back about 10 seconds later and lands at the 2 spot...now getting down on the eggs.
i wonder why he flew away also but came back odd
Shep rolling eggs and settling in
My condolences, Lynne Prayers to you and your family you are bless to have your mom around for 90 years

Belle calling shep
Thanks Steve,
I'm with you Sandi, if my computer died Monte would be on the phone with Dell getting me a new one.
I told him if it would help I would quit my job! LOL! He didn't bite and truth is I would miss it.
poor old snow goose at BWE has been beheaded it seems....
The Circle of Life...
loving that Mourning Dove cooing at NCTC
Well I'd missi t for a little while, but I bet I would get over it!
Dear GrannyBLT, Lynne, So sorry to hear about your Mom. Thoughts and prayers sent to you ♥
I too was enjoying the mourning dove Magpie! Love them!
JUDYE I am waiting for you to post your videos...I posted DeeWerms on WOW...she had two videos...it is all good. If yo udon't post yours here I will bring over Doreen's videos.♥
Great Video JUDYE. Thanks.
I didn't see a contest that Lori mentioned! How have I missed that?
My tax refunds are in and quickly going out.
Glad you are feeling at least a wee bit better Lynn
Hello Eagle Pals...
xo
Enjoy your RL dinner, JudyE. No biscuits? Your son is a dreamer!
for grannyblt,
Lynne1
Our thoughts are with you...
my mother also died of pneumonia, at the age of 83
back in 1993...
she pretty much just slept away, peacfully and in not too much discomfort; I was with her when she died.
I must say I like calling you grannyblt...because, well, I must say
I LOVE BLTs!
(( Hugs and Prayers ♥ ))
I think I'm hearing starlings at the nest too...
and other little night-time about to roost birdy things.
Good to read of Wanda's report...
glad that things seem to be on the Up and Up...
ttfn xo
Have a Good Evening, Friends...
those chicks at BWE are in view a LOT today
wonder when the Fish will start arriving at the nest !
No shortage of Eaglet food at Blackwater that's for sure
fish AND fur
Bluefield snowfall on DC news!!!
Yes Paula, that is the goose head there at the 9-spot
Yay for Bluefield!
Awesome how Shep tucks his head in and it seems he is settling in for a snooze and then suddenly lifts his head up to look around again.
Shep still on duty
both parents at BWE,
Glad you could ID it Margy, thought I saw something staring at me, LOL
ID it as part of the goose....that is.
Oooh forgot to tell you what I saw yesterday at the beach and over the weekend....
Buffleheads, a loon, couple of redtails, kingfisher, herons, seagulls (of course)
Going to try to eat some dinner. Wish me luck.
Scroll back, Sharon...I THINK it's on this thread.......
LYNN, we're having biscuits and sausage gravy for dinner tonight! First time trying your recipe - hopefully I don't screw it up!
Oh love that Bird Report Paula...
I'm wanting to see Buffleheads someday! Hooded Mergansers passed through here last year...
Paula, you had a sightful weekend!!
Wishing you Luck, Lynn
and Sandi, that's the perfect cardinal! Bravo !
Eagle talk!!
Belle, I hope, lands on cam it shakes. Shep does some vocalizing and then calms down looking up...which tells me it must be Belle who landed...all is quiet at the nest.
Heard a clunk on the cam. Belle must be in the tree.
SHARON, I posted about the Train contest for you at 4:34pm.
I read Buffleheads quickly and thought I was going to have to look up Buffaloheads, Paula!
JudyE-I changed mine this year but I'm not sure if/how much it helped. I don't know if Monte finished last night and I was afraid to ask!
Belle arrives. Shep is up and poof! Belle doing an egg roll.
Hi, I see Belle has arrived to take over the brooding duties. Shep has poofed.
Camera shakes, Belle comes down and is on railing. Shep is not getting up...oh here he goes...The Changing Of The Guard Shep poofs to nine branch...could see his tail feathers. Belle in nest and Shep just flew across the nest towards five position and beyond.
Night light.
Good luck LYNN with supper...
Now that Belle is back, probably for the duration, I'm off to feed animals and people. Hopeful that the evening and night shifts are boring for our eagles and egglets. BBL (probably).
And if I won that trip, they would save a lot on wine because me and my 9 wouldn't be drinking! :-)
Kathryn fixed the bathtub faucet. Now, she will try to fix mine.
Good afternoon/evening everyone.
Lynn, feel better soon. luv♥
Hello Diann! We have missed you. Hope you are feeling better and the tests are giving you the feedback you want! ♥
DIANN, thrilled to see you. Happy things are settling down and hope this is the long overdue up turn for you !
Hurray for Kathryn, SHIRLEY ! Isn't it nice to have a talented daughter ? We are women, hear us roar !
Oh, my, sausage gravy and biscuits...Red Lobster fare with cheesy biscuits...I can gain weight just reading this blog !
Kathryn says, "I'm just awesome!!" I think so too.
Good on you, Sandi! Enjoy!!!! I'm sure it will be perfect!
Lori....check your blog!
To sofa I go to digest my dinner. BBL.
Well, he'll soon be home for supper so I'm off to the kitchen to get things together.
bbl ♥♥♥
We're not too far away from the dreaded 200 mark
keep an eye out for it...
off to the store for some Calcium foods and that kind of stuff....
ttfn..xoxo ♥
That switch between Shep and Belle was precious awhile ago...
so delicate.....
and tender..
Egg roll
missed you Diann, but very very happy to see you here with us today...
okay bye
DIANN, good to hear that you feel well enough to go out to dinner.
Gene and I were going out to dinner for Valentine's Day, but he developed a very bad case of gout in his hand and so that has been postponed:( (waanted lobster again!)
We had a really nice visit with GG. She is so concerned with my surgery and recuperation, that she does not dwell on her own pain! That is a good thing, I think!
She is very interested in what I do for therapy...might take her with me one day~ Forgot, I can't drive yet...shouldn't be too much longer~
YAY Wanda! You are kickin' buns! I'm so happy that you are doing so great.
Lynne1, please accept my condolences on the death of your mother and extend the same to all your family members.
Lynn, hope you are felling better and were able to enjoy some dinner.
Wanda, seems as if you are just healing so quickly. Hugs to you and GG and the Capt.
It was a nice day to drive to Solomon's Island. Enjoyed lunch with friends who live in Lusby. Visited the retirement community. Will decide to put a deposit down in a couple of weeks.
