Wow, just got to school and see that there's a Monday morning thread - thanks, Steve! I'll let folks know. Looks like Belle has frosty feathers! Hope Shep is fetching food or ready to sit on an egg so Belle can go and eat!
@Christine I am from right here in good old West Virginia. Of course Martinsburg would be considered probably Northern to like the Bluefield gang that would be Southern lol
I was born and raised here in Martinsburg. Moved to Baltimore Oct. 1969 and moved back to Martinsburg when my Dad got sick.
Then I married and moved to off of Sharpsburg Pike Hagerstown, Md (really small town call Fairplay) near Antietam Battlefield.
ok my generic recording is on the blog and facebook of this morning Belle calling out and Shep responds Hope he went to get some food Excuse the crapping reacording
I love it down here too! I lived in Germantown, MD and worked in Silver Spring. I just wasn't happy and decided to move to NASCAR country. Best thing I've ever done for myself!!
When I go to work today Shep will be on my mind hoping he brings some food and relives her from the nest for abit If my cell phone wasn't a trac phone I would say call me but that would be silly HEY if you text me its only 30sec charge not a min but only one person should text other wise if tooo many did it would take all my minutes up Silly me HUH Bad idea just thinking out loud I guess still got about 10 min before I have to leave for work Come on SHEP
BW has a new web log entry, and a link to the schedule for the eagle festival on March 10th. Guess who is teaching one of the segments? Intro to Nature Photography....Bob Quinn. Way to go, Bob!!
Oh yeah Susan, the Raptor Center is awesome too! Savannah is one bossy mama! They took me out to see the babies last year. I went in to talk to them about the situation here and they took me out. It was really cool!
Ok, I hope Belle gives Shep a stern talking to when he shows up. Usually he's right there.
Christine I have been trying to remember you from last year. Now you talking about going to the Raptor Center. Them letting you back there to see the chicks.
Christine, they took you to the hack tower?? Awesome. I have visited the Center the last two years. Always a treat. Did they get the Osprey exhibit completed?
Good Monday AM. So poor Belle has not had relief or a food delivery yet??° Frost is SO heavy; temp 26°. Brrrr. Still see Belle's back is coated.
Glad to see that more folks are aware and checking in.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SANDRA!!!
And glorious Diamond Jubilee for Queen E....tho' bittersweet for her as it also marks the anniversary of her father's death. Wow----I wasn't even 2 then!
Oh, no Susan...........I know where the hack tower is, but have never been very close. During the time all the drama was going on with Paddy, I was emailing back and forth with Natalie over there. They invited me out one afternoon and Natalie and Jim walked me out to the observation blind to see the eaglets. This was a few days before the one passed away.
Margy, hope things quieted down and you got sleep. Yep, time to report the upstairs situation. Aren't there limits on the numbers allowed to live in an apartment????
Good morning! Belle sure is begging Shep for help this morning, isn't she!? I sure do wish he would figure it out. I can't stand another year like last year!! Poof, she flew off! Egg under the fluff!!
GOOD MORNING... Wonder where Shep has been all night and part of the morning? Maybe he had "one last fling" with the intruder (feel certain it was a female).
No Wanda if you read comments we heard him land in tree. Then he took off we think. Thought he was going fishing. Came back and landed in tree. Belle REALLT CALLED OUT THAT TIME TO HIM. He never came down so BELLE FLEW UP INTO TREE. Down comes Shep and Belle flew off to get her own food. Shep kept looking at egg and finally layed and wiggled onto egg.
I didn't think there was necessarily that much eating in the nest until they are bringing food back for the eaglets. I remember seeing a lot of switching off last year, but I don't recall a lot of food being brought in.
Well I hope she does bring food back to nest after she has her fill. Then doesn't let him have any of it. He deserves that for not relieving her so she could go eat!!!!!!
He needs to learn. He is a "father now"!!! Has duties to Belle. Not just getting his own food, soaring around and landing in tree to sun himself and preen!!!!!!
Finally getting a chance to check in and read back. When I brought the cam up, I saw an MT nest and gasped!! Then I saw Shep land and darned if he didn't settle down on that egg, ever so gently!! I'm fine with that - Belle needs some exercise after sitting for over 12 hours and can get her own food while she's out! This is great - as long as he's willing to help with incubating, Belle and the egg will be OK. Shep is learning one thing at a time - men are like that!! First sex, now incubating an egg, next food for babies and Belle - works for me! And, he HAS brought food to the nest a couple of times, so I'm confident that he'll do that when the need arises. I think he's gonna do just fine!!
YAY SHEP!!!! He rolled that egg and then did the wiggle wiggle thing and settled right back down on it!! Maybe he was up in the tree all night watching Belle and learning?! I'm impressed!!
Hey Bev...I'm doing just great! I was just looking out the back door and seeing all my dead plants and flowers that I didn't get to tidy up this Fall...thinking, "yeah, I will be able to play in my flower and veggie garden this year!!" So glad I had surgery at this time of year...by Spring, I'll be feeling like a Farmer's Wife:)
Wanda that is absolutely wonderful!!!! This is the perfect time to have anything like that done, can recuperate while the weather is not so inviting!!! Love and hugs my friends, back to work, but I will be lurking as always!
I haven't been able to see the nest all morning, so all of your comments about what is taking place is so welcome to me and all of us who can't get 'in' this morning. Therapist coming at 11 o'clock...need to get a quick bath. BBL
Just signing in - was over on the Sun thread wanting to quickly find out if Shep had come into the nest... So I also opened up today's thread and there were Paula's beautiful words "He's finally settled back on the egg."
I am just so tickled to see Shep doing such a great job of incubating, though I still see the egg peaking out a tiny bit right now. OK, rolling ... moving flugg ... wiggling down! Definitely getting the hang of it! Keep up the good work Shep! I'm sure Belle is enjoying her well-deserved break!
We are having a good Eagle Nest day. The switch went beautifully! Belle is now refreshed from her break - food in her belly I'm sure. There may be another switch this afternoon and then Belle does the night shift. I am so very pleased with their interactions. Shep will bring food to the nest after the eaglets are here. Belle uses it has an excuse now to 'take a break'
Time for my street clothes... and Congratulations Eaglet Momsters and Dadsters.
Thanks to those of you watching - you're doing a great job of describing what's happening at the nest for the rest of us! I wish I could have seen the parent exchange (wish I could sit at home all day and watch!!) but am happy to hear that it went well. I feel like I can relax now, knowing that Shep has mastered this next hurdle and is going to be a good egg sitter! Good instincts so far, Shep! YAY!!
Waiting now to have EKG. They did not do all of this the last time I had a cataract removed. By the way, love my new phone! Blogging is so much easier! I am talking this sentence. Cool!
Good morning all. Thank you for the reports of the morning goings on.
LYNN sorry to hear about the copay for every specialty treatment...I hear your ouch...I think I might have an ouch of my own by the endo f the month or in March when the Federal Governemnet brings down the budget...Changing the age of Old Age Security from 65 to 67 I think they are trying to phaase it in and I hope I meet the new guidelines for 65...Waiting to see...
It is a clear day here and it is time to order flowers to be delivered to Egypt for my nieces wedding on Friday...They are all very excited there...
Oh no!!! The NEW YORK TIMES reports that 19 Americans will have to stand trial in Egypt with the NGO problems...not good!!!
I heard about the chap who blew himself and his two sons up!!!Hind sight is 20/20...I can not imagine what Social Services or the judge must be feeling about it all.
I will go get a cup of tea, I ate my orange and think yogurt for breakfast...
In the "old" days, law required lab and chest x-ray as well as EKG(based on specified age) had to be done WITHIN 24 hrs. of a surgery. That's why people were always admitted to the hopsital the day before. I'm sure the insurance companies had a lot to do with changing that!!! And, of course, so much surgery now is out-patient.
Hoda, surely hope that 65 will still apply for you. Ours has been creeping upward for a number of years.....thank goodness for me, disability DOES have an advantage!!
I heard that LYNN re the son of the Secretary of Transport, I also heard that three Americans have taken refuge in the American Embassy in Cairo as they were prevented from leaving Egypt...I have to admit I worry...
I have not been able to find the Egg-Photo album....is everthing going on the February album??? I see many pictures there.... I was confused by Sunday's blog comments about that. please and thanks

Hi Christine and Dana. We are just waiting for Shep to deliver a fish.
come on Shep it was a little before 6 when you saw the egg and I know the rivers not that far Maybe he is having a hard time fishing
Christine, it is Shep here.
And Shep was there the entire time she layed the egg. He flew off after she was done, but before she showed us the egg.
I live in Huntersville, NC now, but I'm from Fairfield, PA. About 45 mins from the nest. :)
Thanks Dana
@WVsUSAn Shep was up in the tree (we think he flew out) hopefully to bring food into Belle and relieve her.
Dana, Christine lives in NC, she was with us last year and popped in a month or so ago..
Thanks Paula, Shep it is then. I still don't participate in the outdoor channel forum.
LYNNE hubby needs to show him how to fish
I love that area, Christine. I have friends on the lake in Denver.
Good Morning Paula (:
Please give wonderful Nick a rub behind the ears or where ever he likes it for me please and thank you woof Nick xxxooo
I heard him up there, Dana. Shep is going to have to learn to fish on command. hahaha

Later at lunch JudyE. Hopefully a good day!!
Way to go, Bob Quinn!
@Christine It is so much better when you find a plave to live that you are happy with. Glad you found that.
Did you answer about did you come to the Open House last year in October?
Dana, we didn't have an Open House last year, it was the year before in 2010 was the last one.
Belle up
HOW INTERESTING watching her with the flugg over the egg!
Belle is pulling flugg in towards the egg. Egg is showing.
Time for an egg roll and some work on the flugg.
Doing some major fluffing
Maybe she's just making herself more comfy.
Usually he's right there.
wiggle wiggle
I'm sorry Dana, missed your question. No, I didn't get up that way last year. Might head up that way this summer to visit.
Christine I have been trying to remember you from last year. Now you talking about going to the Raptor Center. Them letting you back there to see the chicks.
Now I remember YOU lol Talking about getting to see the chicks did the trick. I do remember you now.
LOL, I don't talk a whole lot. Today being an exception ;}
Christine, they took you to the hack tower?? Awesome. I have visited the Center the last two years. Always a treat. Did they get the Osprey exhibit completed?
DanaWV, Nick says Woof! for the extra scratches :)
Good morning.
Congratulations, again, to Belle and Shep. I'm sure Shep will do what he needs to.
Jordan Lake babes are getting quite large. A bit of rivalry already.
Good news for Bob Quinn. Lucky will be the ones who get to attend.
Margy, so happy Fred is home. His recovery will be faster and easier.
Have a lovely day.
I don't see any food in the nest and did see there is an egg. Is the new dad not providing?
Good Monday AM. So poor Belle has not had relief or a food delivery yet??°
Frost is SO heavy; temp 26°. Brrrr. Still see Belle's back is coated.

No food yet, Harb. But hopefully he will provide her some relief.
Good Morning Carolyn and Lynn (:
No we are hoping Shep flew out of tree and has gone for food.
Oh Lynn I so much agree that Margy should not fool around with talking to them anymore. She should report it. It has been going on too long!!!!
Very cool that they took you back, Christine. They have a great enclosure for the eagles.
Can't believe he hasn't flown in yet wanting HP!
Belle is calling out. Come on, Shep.....
Sounded like something landed in tree and then Belle cried out
Shep just landed in the tree. Belle gently calling.
Think he flew off assuming it was him
Oh she's off the egg and yelling now
Good morning! Belle sure is begging Shep for help this morning, isn't she!? I sure do wish he would figure it out. I can't stand another year like last year!! Poof, she flew off! Egg under the fluff!!
She's up, and OFF.....can't see the egg...but she sure made the cam move!
POOF BELLE
Belle flies off to the left. Egg alone and covered in fluff
Belle flew up in tree egg is covered with flugg
Dana-yes it is exciting and Sharon went this past weekend.
Oh Thelma I bet she and Kelsey had a ball in that Bridal Shop. Did they?
And Shep arrives. Looking for egg....
Shep's in with no fish, dangit
BUT he IS checking out the egg and settling on the egg
Finds it...not sure what to do....
Well, he is laying on the egg, isn't he? Very good Shep, way to man up!!!
I sure hope he left a fish in a tree somewhere.
He is bowing his head in prayer!
And finally trying to settle in the cup....but tentatively!
He needs to quit digging and sit still!!! But at least he is there!
My cam stopped and I didn't know it...looked like he was sitting on his own head.
Thank God he's there.
oooh, he's wiggling!
Belle has gone to get her own food I bet!!
He's been practicing on sitting on that empty egg cup so many times, he's got to be thrilled to finally have an egg of his own. lol
Morning folks! I'm SOOOO HAPPEEEEEEE that our Belle finally has an egg!
Agree Bev.
GOOD MORNING...
Wonder where Shep has been all night and part of the morning? Maybe he had "one last fling" with the intruder (feel certain it was a female).
Hi Wanda, just glad he is there and sitting. Also, glad YOU are doing so very well,

I didn't think there was necessarily that much eating in the nest until they are bringing food back for the eaglets. I remember seeing a lot of switching off last year, but I don't recall a lot of food being brought in.
Gotta rearrange that fluff a thousand times a day!
Well I hope she does bring food back to nest after she has her fill. Then doesn't let him have any of it. He deserves that for not relieving her so she could go eat!!!!!!

Good to see you Wanda! How are you feeling?
Shep doing an egg roll
YAY SHEP!!!! He rolled that egg and then did the wiggle wiggle thing and settled right back down on it!! Maybe he was up in the tree all night watching Belle and learning?! I'm impressed!!
A fish from Shep this morning would have been nice but he has come in to relieve Belle. Now an egg roll and adjusting egg cup. Wiggle back down boy.
Sounded like something in the tree
Sounded like Belle landed in the tree but Shep isn't looking up.
Please get some pictures I have to leave to help Mother. I wanted to see a picture of Shep with the egg and one of Belle flying back in
PLEASE PRAY THAT MEGGAN ACCEPTS ME ON FACEBOOK AS FRIEND Thank You. I truly need this within my heart
bbl
I see Shep made it in! Yay!
I have to go back to SSA today to drop off more paperwork. Will check in later!
Go, Belle & Shep! More eggs!!
Hey Bev...I'm doing just great! I was just looking out the back door and seeing all my dead plants and flowers that I didn't get to tidy up this Fall...thinking, "yeah, I will be able to play in my flower and veggie garden this year!!"
So glad I had surgery at this time of year...by Spring, I'll be feeling like a Farmer's Wife:)
Delphia, was the lawyer optimistic??
DanaMo, you are right, there isn't a whole lot of eating in the nest until the chicks hatch.
Maybe if Belle returns with a fish it'll show Shep what he needs to do in the future. :)
Look at him tucking the fluff in...ooops now he is up, rearranging. I see the fluff he brought in....good boy!
Wanda that is absolutely wonderful!!!! This is the perfect time to have anything like that done, can recuperate while the weather is not so inviting!!! Love and hugs my friends, back to work, but I will be lurking as always!
Shep sure does like rolling the egg. Very attentive.
Have a great day all...headed home for a much needed nap! Big sigh of relief that Belle got her break to thaw out & eat!
Doing some digging.
Still rearranging
He's finally settled back on the egg.
I haven't been able to see the nest all morning, so all of your comments about what is taking place is so welcome to me and all of us who can't get 'in' this morning.
Therapist coming at 11 o'clock...need to get a quick bath.
BBL
Hurray--Bill is here....hope he can get that motor off without any trouble.
Wanda, did the swelling go down overnight??
Sorry you can't get the cam....???? Keep trying!
Just signing in - was over on the Sun thread wanting to quickly find out if Shep had come into the nest... So I
also opened up today's thread and there were Paula's beautiful words
"He's finally settled back on the egg."
Whoo Hoo We have an Eagle Family!
Good Morning Friends!!
Thrilled to see we finally have an egg in the nest and that Shep is attending to it so Belle can get a break and some food!!
I didn't even get online yesterday. Church, taxes, family issues, super bowl, etc....left me no time to even try!
Today I woke up with a migraine, but after taking some meds and going back to bed for a couple hours, I think I can work through it..... We shall see.
Great to see so many chiming in and watching over the happy nest activity!!
Wishing everyone a wonderful day. I'll be at my desk, so will chime in from time to time as I watch the nest!!
xoxo
Hope you feel better soon, Linda.
Shep is being such a good dad. His first day EVER on this and he is doing great.
Belle returns!
Belle is back
Belle's back and Shep is NOT jumping up. He loves this!!!
Shep not making any move to get up!
Linda, sorry about your migraine. That stress is getting to you...:(
He is finally getting up, and moved carefully off the egg
Shep up and digging in cup before he is relieved by Belle. A little chit chat between them. So sweet.
Good scene---got a pic! Will add to album!!
Belle is cooing
He is standing next to her at the 4-5 spot
Shep's on the rail at 5 and Belle not on the egg just yet
Think she's telling him it's OK to leave?
Hi, at the drs office and waiting for dr Carol. Great to read about Shep!
Off he finally goes to the right
Shep flew off to the right
She heads to the egg cup....doing some digging
Well that was a lovely exchange. Paula, I think she was indeed.
And fluffing...she's gotta get it right for her!
Belle getting back to position on the egg, digging.
Still standing over it and now headed in for the wiggle. Shep's back.
It is a great relief to know he is a good egg sitter!
A little more digging by Belle and she's over the egg. Shep hanging out on the rail at 11.
I know it's only the first day, Lolly, but he really seems to enjoy sitting. Belle is back up standing.
Shep POOF
Belle up, working w/fluff. Can't hardly see egg.
Belle is back to digging around the egg cup and settling on the egg, though it is still peeking out a little. There, she's worked it back under her.
Hi Loretta. Great day at the nest. I need to run in to the office to do a couple things and will BBL. I'm trying to walk away now. haha
We are having a good Eagle Nest day. The switch went beautifully! Belle is
now refreshed from her break - food in her belly I'm sure. There may be another
switch this afternoon and then Belle
does the night shift.
I am so very pleased with their interactions. Shep will bring food to the nest after the eaglets are here.
Belle uses it has an excuse now to
'take a break'
Time for my street clothes...
and Congratulations Eaglet Momsters and Dadsters.
Good Morning Everyone.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SANDRA! Have an EGGCITING Day!!!
I guess today the watch is on for Shep to come and eggsit. I have appt. later, so will miss a few hours viewing.
Bill has serious doubts that motor can be repaired. ARGH! But he's taking it to the shop anyway to see what they say.
Now that I read back, see that Shep was in nest!!!! Hope that instinct is working.
Lynn, sorry about the motor and you'll probably having to replace it. Hope the expense is minimal or that there is a
guarantee on it.
YAY!!
Shot down by insurance company....co-pay required for each "specialty" treatment, not just for seeing Dr. OUCH!
Is everyone else's eagle cam video a bit blurry or is it just me?
I am seeing some cam problems, too, Maria.
Waiting now to have EKG. They did not do all of this the last time I had a cataract removed. By the way, love my new phone! Blogging is so much easier! I am talking this sentence. Cool!
Jo.....door is 6 yrs. old. Warranty expired. New opener is about $150, he thinks.
Oh, Lynn, that really stinks concerning the insurance!
Hello everyone!
Thanks Maria and Shirley...yes mine seems a little blurry as well, thought it was just my computer.
Have had EKG, now waiting for Carol. Then home!
My cam is perfect.
Good morning all.

It's age, Lolly!! Over a certain age, it is required (usually by state laws!).
Good Morning Eagle Pals ☺
GREAT Nest reporting, Thanks to everyone for that.
My cam is working well, so far
God Bless You, Shep, we are proud...keep up the good work.
Not too long for the FIRST split of this thread...
don't get lost
Happy Birthday to Sandra, Hope your day is Glorious xoxo ♥
Egg-Tending NOW ☺
In the "old" days, law required lab and chest x-ray as well as EKG(based on specified age) had to be done WITHIN 24 hrs. of a surgery. Morning, Margy!! Did you get any sleep????
Posting, on the other hand, takes forever...
Lynn, sorry about the insurance situation, that's very disappointing...hope the garage opener thing turns out better....
Good luck with all your pre-testing Lolly
Best Wishes for a Good Day, Everyone, Happy Nest-Watching !
Hello to those coming back to chat and share information.....
xoxo (( Hugs ♥ ))
Hoda, the US Secretary of Transportation's son is one of those accused in Egypt.
Bad news.
I bet your family IS excited about the wedding!!
Can see the EGG showing under Belle.
Well, I had to reload the page because the camera froze and now I can't get a picture at all. :(
Yes, Lynn I did, more sleep than I intended to get.
Hi Maria
We used to have a problem with other live feeds when so many were watching, didn't think we had the problen with this system, maybe so...
Hi Magpie! Got the video feed to work again! Look at that cute little egg peeking out from under Belle!
Yes, Belle has been standing over the egg for a little while now.
I heard that LYNN re the son of the Secretary of Transport, I also heard that three Americans have taken refuge in the American Embassy in Cairo as they were prevented from leaving Egypt...I have to admit I worry...
I just added up the recorded Egg-laying history for this nest...
Thanks to Paula's Great Information on the E-M Page
This looks like it is Egg #20 ☺
