2 Corinthians 12: 9-10 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Went back and read some of the blog to catch up. Can't believe you were without the blog for awhile. It always seems to be something going wrong. Kay IM all is fine. I went back on the blog a little ways to try and catch up. My husband is finally in the house after dong yard work all day and will probably want to get on here now. So sor now it is later gator. Nice to check in and see you all talking away and keeping in touch.
Hi BEagle!!! Well, that's just a name I made up yesterday with all of his "nick names" so far...except for JERK as Sharon calls him! Sharon is trying to accept this big change. It's not easy for any of us.
Doing OK! Getting ready to jump in a hot shower.....BUT, my BIRD GUY is in the field across the street and he just sent me and email...there are Grasshopper Sparrows over their! I'd LOVE to go over, but he's way up on the other side and my poor body just says NOT TONIGHT.
Dinner out of the way, kitchen cleaned up....I ate too much---ooooh! Figured I would fix a good meal tonight since I know I won't feel up to it tomorrow night! Had pork chops, mashed taters and gravy!
Hi, Candy!!! Just read an article Fri. about the smoke----it siad the fire started MARCH 5th??????That was a misprint, right? Wasn't it May 5th? BTW---the OCracoke teacher won the Jeopardy Teacher's Tournament! $100G's!!!
I don't mind so much that Sharon calls him Jerk. She is just dealing in her own way! We will all come to love, well, at least accept him if Lib really is gone.
Nah, Lynne.....I'll pass on the milkshake! I'm a little lactose intolerant and my stomach is tied up in knots over that course. Don't want my tummy really mad at me!! LOL!
Hi, BEagle! How's everything in Charleston? Did you hear anything about voter turnout? Think they were only expecting about 4%. There had only been 50 people at my precinct as of 2PM. I was in and out in 2 mins!
Looks like Colleen over at Itchy Withers is serious about opening a shelter for rescue horses. I can't remember if it is for pregnant mares or just horses in general.
She tweeted that it was "a gorgeous day (probably yesterday) to keep preparing the house and barn for sale to move and open the rescue!!!"
Linda, frankly Colleen is scaring me. When she said that she had to cash in life insurance in order to rescue the mare, that is a big red flag. While her intentions are honorable, that is the kind of situation that cam quickly deteriorate into a dire mess resulting in the kinds of thing that happened here last summer and in Queen Anne Co., MD two weeks ago. :(
Awe, Lynn, that is so wonderful. Being a part of something like that must be so rewarding.....being that I know you're an animal lover......as I believe we all are on this blog!!!
Congratulations on the One Year Anniversary. I hope tomorrow is a great day!!
I think you're right, Lynn. Maybe there is more to the story.....
Let's hope so. Just because you love horses doesn't mean you can run a shelter!! There is a lot more to it than that! Although she is doing great with Lacey and Lilly, she could be jumping into something that is WAY over her head.
I suppose if she nurses them back to good health and then sells them, it might support itself. Don't know!! I'd be scared to delve into something that big.
I don't have the lactose intolerance really bad, but I can't drink milk and have to be careful not to eat ice cream on an empty stomach. I can tolerate yogurt, though.
Just makes my stomach queezy for a couple hours......so not worth it when it comes to too much milk.
The economy has a LOT to do with success possibilities, Linda. Horses, regardless of how much we love them, are dead expenses....and there is MUCH more expense involved than most people realize. It's not all about hay and horseshoes. And people who would buy in a good economy, just can't do it now.....which is partly why there are so many in shelters already. It's a very sad situation. If interested, read this about what has happened in Ireland in the last year: Abandoned
Space Shuttle Endeavor is scheduled to launch on May 16th at 8:56 AM local time. I would like to add all involved on our prayer list...God's Speed to them and their families.
Belle didn't stay long. Was just thinking.....looking at Liesl's spots of black under her white hair, if Truder's head spot persists, we could call him Smudge!
Hi all...we are home and it has taken me FOREVER to catch up.
Jack split the remaining logs and loaded them up in our truck. The he cut a lot of the remaining into lengths for Laurel and Joey's chiminea. Laurel and I worked on her flower beds, pulling weeds and putting down mulch. We got a lot done. The we came home, Jack unloaded the wood her while I piddled in the yard. We had our nightly indulgence out on the back patio. The we grilled hot dogs and had chili cheese dogs for supper. My first in months! They were yummy!
Evening Everyone! What a gray day! We had rain in AM going down to Great Mills in S. MD. Did not rain on way back, so got to stop in Solomon's for a late lunch. They were have a wine tasting and restaurant hopping excursion today! Would be fun if you can drink wine! Had sort of a Panda nap--as much as you can while cars are racing around on TV!!!! Not typing too well~~~Binky, older cat and I were playing--petting & rubbing her chin and I got slashed on the hand w/canine teeth!. She was purring, so guess you'd call it a love bite!!They don't go outside, so I'm not in any disease danger. Been thinking about Lynne's vet friend & wondering what she got & if it was from cat injury? Gonna nibble something~~~
Saw Truder while reading the blog. You know, I think he is looking better except for the spot on his head. I really dislike that spot!
Yeah, just go ahead and talk about getting together and visiting the nest. I will just be jealous as all get out! Newbies...you really need to try to go. Meeting this group for real is so much fun! I have been to Open House twice. Will have to wait another year or so! Sigh........!
Going to pop on say Hello. Keep checking for New Thead, keep not finding it :(
Was watching that late night visit, guess it was Truder sounded like he landed with a thunk !
Going to try to keep it short, so, Hoping that you feel better Lynne2 Hope that love cat bite will not hurt too badly, Loretta and Best Wishes Sunday, Lynn on a successful Open House!
Going to relax and do some reading... did some potting around out front, love to play in the dirt !
Best wishes for a Good Night, God Bless This Nest, and God Bless Us, Every One xoxo ♥
OH Lolly, you did too much....ice your back and get it before it gets you!
Loretta, Dr B's bite was clear down deep and hit a nerve. And she did test a weak postive for Bartonella, and one form of that is known as Cat Scratch Fever. Just clean it really well and apply triple antibiotic ointment and at ANY sign of swelling call the DR. I got bitten my cat once pretty deep and ended up in the hospital on IV antibiotics. In the vet business, it's the most dreaded injury.
Okay, here I am again about two hours behind in catching up. Was supposed to go to the police graduation tonight but just too tired. Guess my stamina ain't what it used to be.
The night light is set for automatic turn on at 11:00pm for those coming in, headed back the hallway, down to the tub, up the stairs, or those stumbling in from the west coast area. Andy will set our security alarm later tonight. I'll try to catch up (again) tomorrow. Restful sleep for all.
Oh, Margy, we do not think of you as gabby! Certainly no more that the rest of us! LOL
My back is doing fine, Lynne. It did not bother me at all working in the flower bed...actually a large terraced island in her front yard. However, holding wood for Jack to cut did bother me a little, but I did not do it long.
Think I am going to go bathe and get comfy, then just sit here for the rest of the evening!
Oh, feel much better. Nothing quite like a hot shower and comfy pj's!
Hard to believe it is the middle of May and I wore a light jacket today. The front came through here first. It was 55 this morning!
We have decided to take off for a few days. We are heading to the Texas Hill Country Monday morning. Going to go get the trailer tomorrow and load up! Wagons, hooooooooo!!!!☺
We will stay in Fredericksburg, TX. Do nothing for a few days, but be lazy. Will check to see if the bats have returned from Mexico. There is an abandoned mine where they fly out at night. Saw them once before. It is awesome! Will go to the Wildseed Farm, my favorite place! You would all just love it! We will return home Thursday.
Lolly, that's the really cool place to shop with all the plants and pots, right? Sounds like fun, you certainly deserve it...you have been putting in a lot of time!
I bought a new purse about a month ago,,,,I have been dragging it back and forth to the beach, think I will finally clean out my old purse tonight and start using the new one...bbialw
Wow bats what a experience to treasure for life I'm jealous Ok I'm heading to bed God Bless this nest and all who watch it Healing Prayers for those who need them See you at SSCC in the am with bells on
"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone is fighting some kind of battle."
Well the weather is over and my husband is snoring AGAIN!!
I think I'll take him upstairs and let him get to bed earlier tonight!! He gets up much earlier than me!! Brings me coffee in a thermos in bed every morning. I am so blessed!!
May you all sleep well tonight and have sweet dreams....
Sounds like you have a winner there, Linda! I do too! But, no coffee in bed.
Was just looking at Scott's pictures on the new fb page. I really do think Truder has improved in appearance. There are not so many dark feathers on the sides of his head. He looks better groomed. LOL Now, he need a feather dresser for the ugly spot!
Kathryn and I have been going out for dinner on Saturday nights when Hunter is with his dad. He goes to be with Tom every other Saturday afternoon and stays over until Sunday.
We have found a lot less wait time for a table at the downtown restaurants, but getting a table doesn't mean getting the food. We have waited quite awhile for that. But the downtown restaurants are fun.
I really must grade research papers tomorrow. I should have done some today. I will be getting more by the end of the week. And senior grades always have to be in early, so I need to finish those papers quickly.
Shirley, apparently a former student in our school district is now a writer and this is what a friend of mine posted....
"Kyle Killen's drama series AWAKE is chosen by NBC for fall!!! Wow!!! I'm frantically searching for essays he wrote in 7th grade to send to him for an autograph! Isn't it refreshing to know that great things still occur to the nice guy!!! Congratulations!"
Just worked on my nails. Yard work has really ruined them this spring and I wear gloves! Grrrrr!
Watching the news now. Election results apparently get the most coverage tonight. We voted in the school board election this morn before heading to Denton.
I'm thinking that Steve's automated threader may be what has caused the shut down of the blog, otherwise, we would have a new thread. Steve probably doesn't even know that the thread is not working.
Linda posted this on the OC today--7:19 am EDT (nest time) a snowy egret landed at the top of the nest bowl, took a walk about, perched on rails at 10:00 then flew off at 7:26
On their nest observations only threa--12:32PM post.
I think that is GMT, so probably was posted close to the time of the visit.
No, Steve's automatic didn't do it....all Google blogs were down, not just ours!!!
Cool about the student turned screenwriter, Lolly! A trip sounds like just what you need! Will you take Annie with you?
Paula....I need to DIG OUT a spring pocketbook....have been too lazy to want to climb around in the storage closet to find one! But WILL in the morning.
Glad you had a nice meal out, Shirley. Watch out....you gals might get hit on/picked up in those downtown restaurants!!! They usually attract the singles!
Our election was a joke---very low turnout, and the guy I voted for didn't get the nominating vote. :(
Well, that's it for me tonight. Up early and big, full day. Hope to spend a few minutes with you in the morning! Prayers for health and restful sleep....and peace.
No, Lynn, Annie will go to "camp." She HATES to be in the car and we sure do not want a litter box in the trailer. No room!
Paula, yes, Wildseed farm has lots of plants, pots, and garden decorations, as well as seeds and a great gift shop. Also, they have lots of cats and the cats sleep anywhere they want in the gift shop. I love it!
Have not really been gone long, but we had thunder, lightening & all that bad stuff. Re: cat bite scratch--I washed w/soap & water, put on Neosporin, bandage & tape. It looks worse than it really is, as I take blood thinner pill.Looks like the Nike swoosh! My cousin's daughter got cat scratch fever when she was young & ended up in hospital many years ago. First I had heard of it.
Paula, I love Solomon's area, When my daughter visits, we tyry to go there. She has to get her crabcake fix! Lolly, I think we went to Fredericksburg one year---took a trip to see the bluebonnets & went to Wildseed place. I got one of their shirts! Well better shut this machine off~~ and hope everyone has Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Checking in so that I may check out! What a busy day - there were 1600 graduates at UMD 4:00 - 6:30 I had a good comfortable seat and no regrets of going. Very proud of my gd....
I must say good night to all of you and say my prayers for all of you and give you all a hug! ♥♥♥♥♥♥
Nest is still in darkness, so catching up while waiting.
Lynn, have fun with the Animal Advocates today ! Impressive organization. They're going to love the Spring purse you selected for today ! ☺
Enjoyed the videos of eagles fishing and bathing. One of the bathers looked a lot like Truder with the same black spot on the head ! The one of the eagle swimming was amazing, but I wonder if it was struggling to reach safety. I don't think eagles just swim for the fun of it.
About time for SSCC to swing the doors open. The coffee aroma is beginning to seep through the cracks around the door. Looking forward to seeing my early bird buds !
I've been trying to catch up for the past 45 min. Think it rained everywhere yesterday and everyone was online posting to the blog. That's a good thing. :)
Your advice on needing canned meats and toiletries for food bank donations was great - you too Wanda. Thanks for the info ladies.
Yeah - new mouse batteries. I'm beginning to wonder about the significance of wireless mice if I have to replace the batteries every 4 weeks. What's the big deal if you have a cord on the mouse? It's not like it needs to be carried around the house.
Paula, enjoy that belated Mother's Day breakfast this morning !
Lolly, love the Hill Country ! Used to go down there when visiting my son's family in College Station. Now they live in NJ, 40 minutes outside NYC, so much to see and do there, too.
about a hour ago we had a helll of a storm move through I didn't get up but now notice that the next county over is under sever warnings another cold front move in they said

That's a profound message, Lynne !
Praying for relief for your pain and for rain for the North Carolina fire !
Later.....
Oh my, I see the storms.
That's Paul - who amazingly rejoiced all through the trials and tribulations and sufferings in his life. Wish I could be like that!
The whole concept I try to focus on is less of me and more of Him!
Not an easy task!!
wish I could be more like that too....
I need to walk the dogs, BBL

Hey Eagle Fans!
What's up?
Lots of green on the nest. Weird.
Can we shorten the name of the new mail to CAB YoYo?
How's Lynne2?
That post was supposed to say male instead of mail. Did you catch that?
Hi BEagle!!! Well, that's just a name I made up yesterday with all of his "nick names" so far...except for JERK as Sharon calls him! Sharon is trying to accept this big change. It's not easy for any of us.
Doing OK! Getting ready to jump in a hot shower.....BUT, my BIRD GUY is in the field across the street and he just sent me and email...there are Grasshopper Sparrows over their! I'd LOVE to go over, but he's way up on the other side and my poor body just says NOT TONIGHT.
Yeah. I know. It's just isn't the same. Eventually we get accustomed.
Yep LYNN I love the name you made up with all his name I left the other out intentionally I think it offends some peeps LM and watching news
it just the longest name to type so I just copy and paste
I never heard of a Grasshopper Sparrow. I check if you have a pic.
It's a good name but YoYo might be simpler.
I PASSED THAT AWFUL EXAM!!
☺☺☺☺☺☺
In all my years of CPE (and I've been doing this a LONG time), I have never taken a more difficult self study course. I let them know it, too!!
Missed 4 our of 30 questions, so that's about 87%! Probably my lowest score ever, too. Sorry Judie, I didn't get an A :(!!
I don't CARE....it's over......
Now I'm going to go cry or scream or get a glass of I'm sure she won't mind!!

Lynne, gald you are taking it easy this evening.
YAY LINDA! how 'bout a MILKSHAKE!
I don't mind so much that Sharon calls him Jerk. She is just dealing in her own way! We will all come to love, well, at least accept him if Lib really is gone.

HAPPY MIGRATORY BIRD DAY EVERYONE!!
I sent an ecard through the Momster email but I don't know if it went through. Sometimes they don't.
No. Haven't heard.
I pulled out of the parking garage the other day and it sounded like somebody was using a hammer on the car. So I pulled back in and waited it out.
No hail today...just rain.
I need a cupofcuffee. my comments aren't making a whole lot of cdense.

We are having our one year anniversary celebration tomorrow.
oh BEagle, we love when you join in, even if you think you don't make sense!
That's so cool about the horse rescue. I would love to do that! I really miss horses.
Oh WOW Lynn.....It's been a YEAR already??? Congrats!!

Drizzling here again.
yeah, true Lynn. But hopefully she'll get a lot of support and stay within her limits.....PRAYERS!
OK folks, it's the middle of May....how about if we start serious discussion of a get together?
Awe, Lynn, that is so wonderful. Being a part of something like that must be so rewarding.....being that I know you're an animal lover......as I believe we all are on this blog!!!

Sounds like a good idea to me! I'd love to make a trip down to meet y'all
Did I see mention of a horse cam?
Are there a lot of people in this group that live close to the nest?
I am glad I don't have the lactose intolerance. My brother has that. You have to watch what you eat.
Yes BEagle - Itchy Withers Farm
It is neat story of a lady that adopted a pregnant mare about 9 months ago. The filly was born about two weeks ago!
I don't have the lactose intolerance really bad, but I can't drink milk and have to be careful not to eat ice cream on an empty stomach. I can tolerate yogurt, though.
Just makes my stomach queezy for a couple hours......so not worth it when it comes to too much milk.
I have had my share of ice cream, though! ☺☺
Time for a late dinner......
BBILW
If you decide on a date for a nest visit, will it be emailed to all the momsters and dadsters, in case we miss it on the blog??
Now I have the horse cam! What a cute little one!
EAGLES BATHING
Linda, oh yeah, there will be plenty of notice here and mail too!
Lots of us are not too far, we are about an hour and a half.
Going to eat dinner....BBL

You all know where my heart is ♥

Evening, all!
Kids are all in bed, dog is resting...trying to catch up backwards.
Lowreeda, you sure did head south...almost to Pt Lookout! Love St Mary's County...that's where my parents beach house was...
Been a drizzly day here, so played inside with the kids...they were all really good!
This Judy with a Y and bad storms this afternoon about 3ish Cold front came through
Oh, Margy, we do not think of you as gabby!
BBIALW
LYNN2 That was a cool video didn't look like she got the fish I loved the hawks in the end You could spend hours on YouTube
Another good video. Thanks, Lynne!
Good night, Judie and Margy.
Goona go take my bath now so I can get my nails done before bed. Liesl is sleeping...probably down for the night.
Will check back later.
Here is another great video of an eagle coming down for a fish:
Eagle catching fish in slow motion
Thanks for sharing, Lolly!! I am feeling much better now after a long shower and dinner!! That course really got to me! Glad it's over!
Nice to see you Margy ♥♥♥
Loved the Eagle Videos! I loved watching those eagles flapping and dunking their heads in the water. Too cute!!
Lynn - Such a sad story about the abandoned horses in Ireland
Hi,
Rain and lightning here, too.
Back from bar hopping, Shirley?
Lolly, that's the really cool place to shop with all the plants and pots, right? Sounds like fun, you certainly deserve it...you have been putting in a lot of time!
I bought a new purse about a month ago,,,,I have been dragging it back and forth to the beach, think I will finally clean out my old purse tonight and start using the new one...bbialw
Lolly - Sounds fun!! We have bats here. One crashed into the front window. Dennis rescued it. They have some nasty looking teeth!!
We see the quite a bit in the summer if we're out at dusk or even in the night.
I hope you have a relaxing trip!
Blessings and Prayers for all .....
xoxo ♥♥♥
Loved the bathing eagles!
Think this is really something!
How nice, Lolly! I have had one student that I have thought might get published, but so far haven't seen anything.
I should have saved his essays, but making copies wasn't as easy back then as it is now.
I do not know him. Apparently he was a good kid in 7th grade.
Just worked on my nails. Yard work has really ruined them this spring and I wear gloves! Grrrrr!
Watching the news now. Election results apparently get the most coverage tonight. We voted in the school board election this morn before heading to Denton.
I am getting sleepy. Time to head upstairs for the evening. See you tomorrow. Rest well, everyone.
There are some very good kids in school, thank goodness!
I'm thinking that Steve's automated threader may be what has caused the shut down of the blog, otherwise, we would have a new thread. Steve probably doesn't even know that the thread is not working.
I did see the comments about the egret at the nest. Odd. I would love to see pictures. It does not look like anyone on this blog saw it.
I am thinking the same thing, Wanda. This may turn out to be a very long thread.
Wanda, all of Blogger was shut down, not just us. It's been going on for days...there were problems the other night, too.
Got my new purse all done...kids are on their way home...going to go relax in the recliner. Catch ya'll tomorrow!
(((Hugs for all ♥)))
Nite, Shirley! Sweet dreams!
Wanda, I doubt Steve's automated thread pulled the blog down. However, think that the repairs to the blog probably cancelled out his automated set up.
I'll let Steve know we need a new thread tomorrow.
Nite!
I'll let Steve know we need a new thread tomorrow.
Nite!
Odd.
Night, Paula.
I really must go, too.
P.S. Shirley, we had the early morning coffee klatch watching at that time and they said they didn't see an egret!!
Bye!!
Hmmm, hit on, picked up? Well, hey!
Actually, lots of family types there.
Wow, going to get down into the upper 40's in the morning. Love it! More thunderstorms possible later on this week. I will take more rain.☺
Yeah, that was a long visit for no one else to have seen it. Wonder what happened?
Well better shut this machine off~~ and hope everyone has
Pleasant Feather Dreams ;>)
Hey, Shirley....being "picked up", ain't all bad! LOL I confess, I once was "picked up". LOL Still with the guy 47 years later.
I have two of their shirts, Loweeda. Both have Texas wildflowers on them.
My eyes are watering, I am yawning, and struggling to keep awake!
Night all! God bless! Sweet dreams and BIG HUGS!
Checking in so that I may check out! What a busy day - there were 1600 graduates at UMD 4:00 - 6:30
I had a good comfortable seat and no regrets of going.
Good Morning Kay!
Grabbing some coffee - hopefully Truder will hold off on his appearance. BBIAM Kay!
NO SUCH LUCK - TRUDER IN THE NEST!
Truder arrives
picking at flugg. Picture seems a bit blurry today
Good to "see" you Lori !
A Eagle Has Landed
Truder moves from center to 5 spot and picks around on rail. Then back to center.
OK both of you are here - NOW I'm gonna try to grab some more coffee. BBIAM.
And hello, Judy !
Paula, enjoy that belated Mother's Day breakfast this morning !
Lolly, love the Hill Country ! Used to go down there when visiting my son's family in College Station. Now they live in NJ, 40 minutes outside NYC, so much to see and do there, too.
I posted my comment and it took a while to go through I hope that doesn't mean its gonna go flooy again
