HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Put my Mom's Day bouquet on top china cabinet so little kitty won't nibble leaves! So now she looks up and meows at them! A botanist?
Fubby said I could go to any restaurant I want for dinner, but not today! No reservation & too crowded!I may go to store & get some steamed crab legs! So there!

Little side story; on Friday at "Fox Farm", I only saw 2 kits at different times running down edge of field and jumping into taller plants. About an hour later I decided to tippy-toe slowly along that edge. At one spot I looked into brush & something moved. It was a kit's face. We stared at each other, but I couldn't find him in camera back, & then he left.Took pic of the spot. Don't want to go back and scare them, "but I know where you are"!!!!
Gotta go do something.Have a great day! BBL ☺ ♥

Where is the market that everyone goes to? I would love to go one Sunday.

DanaMo said...

Lot's to do today before I can relax. Each year my kindergarten class has a "Mother's Day Tea". I think it's my favorite activity of the year. It's my way of Thanking the moms for all they do for my class and it's a chance for them to spend one on one time with their special kindergartener. So I'm off to finish things up!

Decided to change my avatar to my son, Adam and I!! I'm just so very proud of him. (Kind of a blury picture, but I'm always the one taking the pictures, so I don't have too many of the two of us!!)

With God's help, he has fulfilled my life-long desire to be a Mom and experience that unconditional love a child brings.

He's 23 now and on his own, but he'll always be my baby and my JOY!!

♥♥♥

Lynne - There sure are a lot of great photos on the site already!! Beautiful pictures!

Just a quick peek in. Laurel and family should be here anytime. Got a call from Ashley just before leaving for church. They were boarding the plane at Memphis to fly home. They WILL be here about 5:30, so dinner is set for 6:00. Table is set, all preparation done that we can do ahead of time.

Going to spend the day outside and in the shade. Boys will be on the Slip and Slide as well as playing Ladder ball. I am ready!!!

Once again...Happy Mother's Day!♥♥

magpie said...

Wow, that's NEAT Lolly !!
Like a Family Reunion !

Linda, - absolutely wonderful picture of you and Adam !!

DanaMo
The market is right in "downtown" Shepherdstown...on the street the old-fashioned historic library sits on, just off German Street...
every Sunday...it's definitetly worth a trip across the River !

magpie said...

Lynne -
I would if I could, teach those 5 otherwise lovable creatures of yours, a thing or two about treating "Mom" like the Royalty that you are !

OK, nap behind me, coffee in front of me, and a trip out the road about to happen

Enjoy those Steamed Crab Legs Loretta, but I wish you could have gone to a restaurant and let someone else do ALL the work

xoxo ttfn

Judie said...

Just checking in to say I hope all Moms (of humans, furry critters, or both) are having a wonderful day.

Lowreeda, crab legs will be yummy. Sure wish I could have been with you to see the kits.

Linda, nice picture of you and Adam. He's very handsome.

DanaMo, whag a charming way to have moms spend some special time with their little ones -- beautiful memories for everyone.

Margy, hope you can catch up with James.

Will have to check back on the doings of others but just hoping everyone is enjoying the day.

Happy Mother's Day Dear Momsters !

Malcolm's family picked him up at 3 and, of course, he greeted them as if he thought he might never see them again. ☺ I'm going to their house at 6 for grilled chicken n' veggies and he'll greet me that same way. Dogs are so loving ! He and I slept in today due to watching the guys at Darlington until soooo late last night. So, no SSCC for me today. Thanks to JudyE for holding down the fort and for the beautiful card in keeping with our coffee theme !

Margy, DanaMo, PA Lynn, Loretta, Shirley, love the new avatars !

Lynn, glad to hear your doc will prescribe quinine ! I'm doing well on the two products that contain it, mentioned in yesterdays post.

Lori, interesting article on coffee ! If you find some brands that are bird friendly, let me know. I'm thinking Whole Foods or Trader Joe's might be good bets, but will look at Kroger, too.

Hello Eagle Fanclub.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU LOVELY MOTHERS.

I notice there are some fresh green sprigs on the nest.

BEagle said...

Sorry, I just don't know how to get my mother's picture on this blog. She was a wonderful mom.

Kay said...

BEagle, apparently our eagles brought in some greenery for us on Mother's Day ! And, we thought they didn't care.

WVDana, how sweet it is for your Mom to turn 85 on this day ! Still wanting to "run around"---you're so blessed to have her !!

Lynne2 said...

BEAGLE!!!!WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN???? We've been worried...Paula sent you an email a while back.

Hope everything is OK, we missed you!

Lynne2 said...

been out front dealing with weeds and Steve found a baby toad! Got a picture of this one!

BEagle said...

Hi Lynne2!!!!

Lynne2 said...

Nice to see you again!

BEagle said...

I am getting ready to head out to pick at some weeds too! I did a little yesterday.

The only problem I have is sugar. My doctor upped my sugar pill and I have to loose ten pounds in three months.

No more Frosties!!!

BEagle said...

I love looking at all the vintage pictures of mothers.

Lynne2 said...

oh geesh. Yeah, sugar is a problem for me too. I am "pre" diabetic. And have been warned. I'm trying to be better a cutting the sugar/bad carbs and beefing up my fiber intake.

Cute kitty video.

I have been Zumba-ing too.

Red said...

Am I a troublemaker? I just posted this on OC blog:

Is everyone having fun?

Heres something that strikes me as being funny. After over 50 days outside in the weather, through wind and rain, Liberty still have boodstains on his head. Hmmmmmmmmm

stronghunter said...

Hi Red. You are a rascal, aren't you?

How is everything in Huntsville? You all have been through a lot down there.

stronghunter said...

I think a lot of people are busy with their families. My kids all went out to fly model airplanes. I elected to stay home and rest a bit. It has been a busy weekend for me.

stronghunter said...

BEagle--we have been worried. You have been playing Zumba? Kathryn does a lot of that. I have played some, but I usually play word games.

hedgie said...

OMG, Red......you are a real instigator!!!! So how do we follow comments? I see yours, but nothing since.....???

BEagle.....it's about time you showed up, young lady. We've been worried about you! Hope everything is okay, and that the new job is going well!!! Please don't be a stranger!!

hedgie said...

Very nice dinner....I had steak and lobster tale---yummmm--and a really good large Margarita!
Chris and Shannon gave me a Yankee Candle, Richard Paul Evan's latest book, an iTunes gift card and my b-day cake!!! Very sweet!!

stronghunter said...

Some people over there are reporting that they have received obscene e-mails, etc. I expect that might be coming from some of the trolls who were around before. That is unfortunate.

stronghunter said...

We had steak and chicken with beans, mac and cheese, and salad. There is key lime pie for dessert.

hedgie said...

Okay....so someone calling themselves "A" put this in her comment sometime today:

"received email from friends here, who are being ganged up on, insulted, attacked, harassed and bullied and now see the proof. Some of us are even getting obscene email from an OC/Wow/Steve Chase's site member. She has numerous user names, aliases and email addresses, and I am not referring to Sidney. It is illegal to send pornography, unwanted solicitations and advertising and so is stalking.received email from friends here, who are being ganged up on, insulted, attacked, harassed and bullied and now see the proof. So what is OC/Wow/Steve Chase's site and who are it's members?????? Anybody knoww aht she's talking about????

stronghunter said...

Kids brought all of the food and fixed it. I have done a few odds and ends, but not much.

Rus brought me an orchid. I hope I will be able to keep it alive.

stronghunter said...

I read that, Lynn. I thought maybe it is one of those trolls. Someone could very easily be trying to cause trouble just for the heck of it.

hedgie said...

Oh, Shirley, good Key Lime Pie is my most favorite!!! What kind of recipe do you use??? It's so hard to find good ones....and the commercial stuff is a sorry excuse. Guess I got spoiled having so much good "real thing" on my many trips to FL.

stronghunter said...

If things like that are going on, those people have a right to be upset. I hope no one is blaming our group. That is not who we are.

BEagle said...

Zumba is a very vigorous exercise class. It poohs me out.

Red...you are a wee bit bratty.

Has anyone thrown out nice names for the new male?

It's funny to see House on The Man in the Iron Mask. He He.

My new position....I like it but have been working out the kinks in it so that it will go more smoothly.
It keeps me very busy and aren't you glad I didn't whine about it on the blog?

stronghunter said...

Hate to disappoint you, Lynn, but Kathryn picked this pie up at the store.

If you have a good recipe, I would like to have it. I did not do any baking this weekend.

stronghunter said...

Whine whenever you want to, BEagle.

BEagle said...

Are you there?

stronghunter said...

I have not made many trips to Florida. Have been there, but not many times.

stronghunter said...

The Zumba I am thinking of is a computer game.

BEagle said...

Blogger Cop 503 needs to be reckoned with.

BEagle said...

Zumba uses dancing steps for exercising. It's a big fad right now.

stronghunter said...

Be sure you copy your messages before you try to post, BEagle. 503 has been on a tear lately.

BEagle said...

It incorporates Latin style dancing and other types too...like the twist.

BEagle said...

Okay..the copy and paste idea sounds good.

stronghunter said...

Did the twist back in the sixties when I was much younger.

BEagle said...

The copy and paste should work it out.

BEagle said...

The copy and paste should work it out.

BEagle said...

Well. The copy and paste is working very well it seems.

stronghunter said...

I just copy in case I need to paste. Especially if it is something long.

But, one time I kept getting my copied message pasting itself in the middle of something I was writing to my assistant principal at work. I was happy I caught that. She would have wondered about my sanity.

hedgie said...

My Carolyn got an orchid from her girls and hubby today, too, Shirley! I told her to look up care instructions online!!

stronghunter said...

I did get some instructions with the plant.

stronghunter said...

Good idea to check online. I will try that, too.

stronghunter said...

Lynn, I have been wondering what the reference to "Sidney" is all about.

stronghunter said...

Oh, I see that there is a Sidney posting over there, too.

stronghunter said...

BEagle, we have thought about names, but have not come to any conclusion. I think most people want to wait awhile.

stronghunter said...

I am truly sorry someone is feeling harassed, bullied, or is in any way being made to feel uncomfortable. I would not want that to happen here, on OC, or any other site.

I hope those problems get straightened out quickly.

Lynne2 said...

I'm glad our blog is drama free and loving!

Yes Beagle, some names have been thrown around. And with the finding of the deceased eagle near the nest, and many thinking it's Lib (and others, like me, still in a sort of denial...I'm waiting til fall to see what happens) it's been discussed. It's a tough thing to think about no matter where any of us stands. Having said that, one of the names tossed out their was by Wanda...she suggested Colonel and I really like that one, should we need a name.

Lynne2 said...

Sounds like those who have checked in have had a really nice Mother's Day!

Lynne2 said...

there are kids in with the foal!

Lynne2 said...

she is having fun with an orange cone!

Just Vicky said...

New Thread!

BEagle said...

Colonel sounds good. I am with you Lynne2. A wait for the new season would be helpful to see if we even need to name the new fellow.

It is still in my thoughts that Lib was building another nest. Why else would he bring in fluff and take half and fly off with it was my question when I saw it.

We may never know. What I do know is whatever my son is cooking in the kitchen sure does smell good.

BBL.

hedgie said...

Sorry....went to spend some cuddle time with Liesl and we fell asleep!

I don't have a good recipe, Shirley....all that I have tried have been very disappointing!
As for FL---M0m lived there for 16 yrs., and her bro for about 10 before that....hence my many trips---basically yearly! Plus my sister lived thee for a number of years back in the early 80's, too---think I visited her jsut one time.

hedgie said...

Oh, BEagle, you can always use us for a sounding board anytime you need to!

I, too, was wondering if that comment on OC was referring to someone they thought came form here.....NOT!!! We aren't that kind!

hedgie said...

Bear Report early tonight!

Ms Bookworm said...

Hi, Everyone,
Oh, rats! My comment got lost in cyberspace, I guess. Got a screen saying that the website had expired!

Here's a picture of my Mom. Hope you are all having a GREAT Mother's Day!

Back later to say goodnight.... :o]

hedgie said...

Oh, Andy, your Mom was lovely.....very young in that great pic! Thanks for sharing with us!!! Hope you've had a noce day...lots of phone calls, I hope!

hedgie said...

Hoping all the Mom's had a really special day!
I'll check back after my bath to see if anyone has popped in!
